Woodcock Farm is a small working farm set on the Cotswold Way with stunning views to the Severn Bridge and beyond. We have sheep, pigs, horses, chickens and ducks. The farm sits on an old Roman and Anglo-Saxon hill fort. Nearby is Bath, Bristol, Tetbury, Westonbirt, Chipping Sodbury, and Cirencester. We are 5 mins from J18 of M4, set in quiet, rolling countryside opposite the Badminton Estate. There are several local pubs which serve good food, with Farm Shops and local amenities nearby.
Woodcock Farm is a beautiful cotswold barn conversion, set in 36 acres of rolling countryside and woodland. You are free to walk and explore the land and farm and we'd be happy to introduce you to the animals who live here. Locally we have a wide selection of beautiful villages and towns which offer interesting independent shops, National Trust properties, great pubs and restaurants and wonderful walking. There are plenty of places of interest for all the family to visit within an easy drive - Bristol Zoo, Cotswold Water Park, Adam Henson's (BBC Countryfile presenter) farm, Longleat, Bath Roman Baths, Malmesbury Abbey and Westonbirt Arboretum to name a few. We'd be happy to help you with ideas for days out. The Farm sits on an old Anglo-Saxon Hill Fort which was also used by the Romans. The Cotswold Way crosses the land and there are many really scenic walks all around. We can lend you maps and recommend pubs and stops along the way. There is an extensive array of wildlife on the farm including hares, deer, badgers, hedgehogs, skylarks, wrens, and red kites.
The Cotswolds in one of the most beautiful parts of SW England, but close at hand if you want great shops, restaurants and nightlight Bath and Bristol are easily reachable. Our local town boasts its own bakers (Hobbs House Bakery - The Fabulous Baker Boys), Waitrose, local butchers and greengrocers as well as a great Deli/coffee shop called Hamptons, which serve a great brunch! There is a cinema and sports centre with a indoor pool in Yate, which is 15mins away, and Yate also offers a train service to Bristol Parkway. The free Park and Ride service into Bath is around 15mins drive located at the top of Lansdown, near the Racecourse.
  • We had the most amazing time at Caroline and Jasons beautiful flat. The location was idyllic for walks and for our little one to explore, as well as convenient, being only 20 minutes from Bath, and 25 minutes from Bristol. The flat itself is perfectly equipped with everything you would need for a stay including a kitchen, bathroom and a cosy lounge. We loved the open plan style - perfect for our little boy to explore and have a play without causing any chaos. The games kept us entertained in the evenings and we loved the heater as it made the place so cosy, even just to look at. Caroline and Jason couldn't have been more welcoming and were there for any questions we wanted answered. A great stay and we can't wait to return next year!

  • Caroline and her family were so welcoming and our children loved being shown the animals. The flat is comfortable, very clean and tidy and has everything you would need for your stay. They have also included some thoughtful touches like a selection of games and emergency supplies. A great place to stay!

    Rachel2017-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a lovely week-end at Caroline's home! We really liked the farm and the area to visit around. Our daughter loved to see and feed the animals with Caroline. Thank you very much for your warm welcoming. We really hope to come back again soon!

  • Perfect rural location but still close to lots of amenities we thourghly enjoyed our stay here Caroline and Jason were perfect hosts so friendly and so lovely to our two boys so much so they didn't want to leave! Highly recommend staying here. We will definitely be returning!

  • We really enjoyed our stay in this lovely little flat. It was impeccably clean, comfortable and cosy. A lot of care has clearly been taken in making the place just right for guests and it shows. We can highly recommend it here!

  • This really was a wonderful find! Caroline, Jason and Rory made us feel very welcome, the flat was comfortable, spacious and well equipped. We were a group of 3 adults with 2 toddlers and there was plenty of space for the 2 travel cots and 2 high chairs. We cooked both nights in the kitchen which was perfect for our needs and the kids (and adults) loved meeting the animals in the morning and helping to collect the eggs. Thank you for a wonderful weekend!

    Stuart2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect for families. A lovely cosy apartment, fantastic hosts, can't recommend it highly enough.

    Chris2017-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Thanks Caroline and Jason for a lovely stay in your farm. We were a family of four (two very young children) and the spot couldn’t be better. Caroline and Jason have got a cozy and spotless apartment, decorated with a very good taste. It’s very quiet at night but also close to many amenities, including a national park, Bristol and Bath. Although the owners live downstairs you feel you’ve got your own privacy but they are reachable if you need anything. The kids enjoyed feeding the animals and playing with them. We all have thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend it. Last but not least, very timely answers to any queries and lots of info provided about the area. Thanks for a very nice holiday.

  • 10 stars experience! Absolutely a true treat. No hassle at all. All beautifully kept. Exceeded expectations. Close enough to Bath. Real retreat weekend. Tracey was lovely and very welcoming with all her details. Gluten free bread and diary free milk amongst all very much appreciated. We would love to come back and definitely recommend it.

  • What a lovely experience! Great host and gorgeous accommodation. From start to finish the whole visit was perfect. I don't say that very often but in this case it was true! We are already planning on a return visit to try another local walk.

  • We loved our stay at 'The Shed' in Dodington! Immaculately kept and very comfortable. Tracey is an excellent host - very friendly and happy to give local advice. 10/10!

  • A perfect stopover - warm, comfortable and impeccably dressed little barn with a view of a magazine worthy vegetable garden! The sourdough and orange juice was much appreciated too thank you.

  • This is a lovely place in the middle of the country close to the Cotswold way. However also very convenient for bath and some beautiful Cotswold villages. We were made very welcome and given tips for places for dinner and parking in Bath.

    Penny2015-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • I had a lovely two day stay at Tracey's airbnb. It felt a bit like coming "home" after some very hot and sweaty days on the Cotswold Way. I enjoyed the rural setting. Having snacks and drinks available was convenient and the brownies were divine. Communication with Tracey throughout was excellent.

  • About the host, Lettie was amazing, easy to talk with, very friendly and even spent 10min chatting to my wife and I about country living. As for the cabin it was clean, warm with all the basic necessities such as towels, soap and breakfast. The view was stunning, we just spent our time watching TV, surfing the net and reading books. But its also 25min drive to Bath, a beautiful city with great tourist attractions and places to eat. Highly recommend it and we will be back.

    Ali 2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Lettie's place was beautiful - nicely decorated, clean, and very well-equipped! Check-in was easy, Lettie was very communicative. We absolutely loved the sunset views and clear night-skies (great for star gazing), and waking up to the sheep and horses!! Would definitely recommend this and hope to be back!

  • This was such a perfect little getaway for us! A short drive from Bath and a chance to escape the city and unwind in a beautifully picturesque and lovely area. The cottage had everything we could have wanted for a very comfortable stay. The host, Lettie, was absolutely fantastic! Communication was great and we were welcomed with a beautiful complementary breakfast - such a lovely touch. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend this place to others.

    Rebecca2017-05-01T00:00:00Z
  • Our late arrival meant that we weren't going to be greeted by Lettie but very clear instructions ensured we had a stress free arrival. Plenty of parking and a lovely setting.

  • This is a great little Air B n B. It is ideally placed for visiting Bath and the beautiful surrounding villages in the Cotswold's. The flat is in the basement and has a short flight of stairs going down to it with a railing to assist. Every room has been refurbished to a very high standard and the beds are clean and comfy. The shower is bliss! There is everything you need for a lovely stay and Sally welcomed us with a bottle of wine, milk, cereal, butter and fresh bread, which was very nice to have. Sally is lovely and welcoming without being intrusive. She was a great help with local information too. We loved it and will certainly return. We fully recommend this lovely place to you.

  • What can I say, you have to stay here, great place lovely place and an absolutely wonderful host.

  • Cannot knock it, money well spent and if we are in the area again we would definitely be returning.

    Adam2017-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • Sally's place is a very cozy, tastefully decorated, basement suite which is all brand new and spotlessly clean. Everything works perfectly, which is such a treat after some of the quaint hotels along the Cotswold Way! Bonus items include a washing machine and all the little extras Sally provides such as coffee & tea, a loaf of fresh bread, butter, jam, muesli and milk, and a very warm welcome! This place is only steps from the Cotswold Way ((SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) maps took us a few houses too far, so watch for the name of the cottage). Sally's daughter kindly let us in and Sally herself popped down for a chat later in the evening. Both Sally and her daughter are lovely! We loved this place - beds were super comfortable, tv & heating worked perfectly, shower was great. Being a basement suite, you of course do hear any walking above the suite but they were quiet at a reasonable time so we went to sleep with no problem. We were wakened in the night from something happening upstairs but they have a new baby in the family so we expect that them getting up in the night is temporary and we wouldn't hesitate to highly recommend Sally's place. It truly was one of the best places we stayed along the Cotswold Way. One wee problem is the luggage moving company we used (the one from the Volunteer Inn in Chipping Campden) wouldn't deliver to Airbnb accommodations so we had to get the luggage held the previous night and moved the following day, which was a bit awkward because we had to carry everything we needed for overnight. We hope they will change that rule if enough people request it as we don't see how it's different than delivering to a B&B.

    Lynn2017-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • Sally is an amazing host! Even though our check-in was late and she wasn't available to greet us personally, she made sure that we found the place okay so that we could get settled in for the night. She gave us great recommendations during our trip in Badminton and made sure we were comfortable during the evenings. The place itself, I can't believe how much we lucked out! The room is immaculately cleaned and absolutely comfortable. 5 star accommodation for such a bargain! Our only regret was only staying there for the weekend. Definitely booking with Sally again next time we're visiting Badminton.

  • Great little basement hideaway. Bedroom (2 single beds), small dining kitchen, toilet and shower room with washing machine. Doggy friendly accomodation and wee garden with sitting area. Other dogs in the property (all friendly) Fantastic countryside walks a stones throw away and local pub is a 40 minute countryside walk away. Great if you want to get away from it all.

Little Sodbury is an English village in South Gloucestershire, located between Chipping Sodbury, to the West, Old Sodbury to the South, Badminton, and the A46 road to the East and Horton and Hawkesbury Upton, to the north. The "manor of Sodbury" comprises the nearby Chipping Sodbury and Old Sodbury: it is distinct from that of Little Sodbury. St Adeline's Church was built in 1859 by William James. The 15th century, 17,385 square feet ((PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN)] Little Sodbury Manor was the home of Sir John Walsh who employed William Tyndale as chaplain and tutor to his grandchildren in 1522-3; by tradition he began his translation of the Bible in his bedroom here. The manor retains the porch and Great Hall, with a timber roof resting on corbels carved as shield-bearing angels, of the fifteenth-century courtyard house. The house fell into disrepair in the nineteenth century, but was restored by architect Sir Harold Brakspear for Lord Grosvenor and later Baron de Tuyll. Little Sodbury's Iron Age hill fort reshaped by the Romans is accessible from the village via the Cotswold Way at grid reference ST760826. There is a Royal Observer Corps post at grid reference ST766838. Little Sodbury is one of three Thankful Villages in Gloucestershire - those rare places that suffered no fatalities during the Great War of 1914 to 1918.

My place is perfect for families or groups looking for somewhere to stay - either when working away, or in transit between properties as a short term let. It has an airy conservatory/diner/kitchen overlooking the back garden - with underfloor heating for the chilly months and sun drenched in the summer months.
Its my home, but I also have an apartment on the south coast that I spend a fair amount of time in, and my partner lives about 45 mins away, so can easily stay away to allow your group exclusive use of the house.
Yate and Chipping Sodbury are midway between Bath and Bristol and on the edge of the Cotswolds. Yate is a modern town with many facilities such as a sports / shopping centre and cinema - and all within walking distance of the house. Chipping Sodbury is on the doorstep with many quaint shops and pubs.

  • Laura is such a great host and it's a pity we only stayed 1 night. She gave us good tips about the area (Lacock, Castle Combe etc.) and how to get there. The house is very nice and located in a quiet neighborhood. Thank you Laura!

A semi-detached, stone-built studio barn conversion with fully equipped kitchen overlooking a duck pond, surrounded by six acres of gardens, in the village of Hinton and just 6 miles from the wonderful cities of Bath and Bristol. PLEASE NOTE: Our local pub is closed for refurbishment from Sunday 28th May until Thursday 15th June. Other country pubs are nearby but not within walking distance. We are happy to help recommend alternatives. Apologies.
The space is completely yours and you will have complete privacy. Wifi is now available in the studio itself and washing machines are available free of charge in the communal laundry room which you will have your own key to and there is also dvd's you can borrow. New for 2016 we are launching our new snooker room with full sized snooker table available to guests from 31st March.
Not only do we have an award winning pub in our village, we also are on two significant national trails. The Cotswold Way and The Monarch Way. Also next door to Hinton is the Village of Dyrham and the national trust property Dyrham Park. Within easy driving distance are the historic and beautiful villages of Castle Coombe and Lacock.
  • Angela was a lovely host, excellent communication all the way through. Beautiful setting and all the 'little extras' Angela provided were the icing on the cake. Thank you for a wonderful stay, I only wish we could have stayed longer!

    Nicola2016-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time in Angela's studio. Although we didn't have a chance to meet Angela, the communication was perfect. The studio was clean and just as pictured. Would highly recommend.

  • Angela's property provides the perfect place to escape the hustle & bustle lifestyle. We wanted to stay outside of Bath but be close enough to travel in & out with ease. Hinton Grange fit the bill exactly. Angela is a wonderful host, generous, knowledgable of the area & always smiling. We wished we could've stayed longer! Thanks for a great stay Angela.

    Anne2016-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely little studio, cosy with a log fire and set in lovely grounds. Perfect for a few days away from the hustle and bustle. Really close to bristol and Bath and not far from Cardiff so perfectly positioned. Angela met us and showed us around when we arrived. Highly recommended!

    Martin2016-05-03T00:00:00Z
  • Angela provided us with an impeccably outfitted space in a lovely environment. We wholeheartedly recommend this first rate venue to anyone wanting to enjoy the AirBnB experience in the Cotswolds. We will most certainly be back with Angela for our next visit.

    Christopher2016-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • Like the host's other properties I found this studio to be very well equipped and cosy - the location is in a lovely countryside setting and is great for both a break or if working in the vicinity. It has a very comfortable bed, good shower, central heating and even an open fire if required. Angela, the host, is very welcoming and provides a number of items in the kitchen for your stay such as bread, milk, juices, tea & coffee etc along with a nice welcoming bottle of wine! I would definitely recommend a stay here, you won't be disappointed.

    Paul2016-04-15T00:00:00Z
  • Just came back from this place and I already miss it. Cosy studio, mazing atmosphere, safe & quiet neighbourhood and absolutely awesome host! Angela's hospitality was really touching and made us feel truly welcomed. Making sure we are content at all times, she definitely added value to the overall experience and I feel quite lucky with the choice of place and its host. The place on its self is exactly the way is displayed - spacious, cosy and relaxing. The location of the studio is more than convenient - quite close to Bath but far enough to escape from the hustle and bustle. Also, there is a local 5 star pub that serves amazing food and is only 5 min walking distance from the studio. Definitely recommend!

    Mariya 2016-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely studio in quiet situation. A great change from impersonal hotels- will use again if I am in the area. Very welcome wine, fruit juice, home made bread and other goodies! Thank you!

  • A rural farm location, the main house where we stayed has been refurbished to a high standard. We had a lovely ensuite double bedroom with plenty of space for our infants cot too. There was also a separate private living room that we had full use of (note-no TV available, but this didn't bother us at all). Helen and John were both incredibly welcoming and we thank them very much for making our stay so nice. Communications prior to our arrival were quick and useful. All in all a great first time Airbnb experience for us! Thanks Helen and John!

  • What can we say! The most beautiful house in such a relaxed and pretty environment. Helen was a fantastic host, she was very helpful beforehand providing us with taxi information for the area, and allowed us to drop our bags and check in a little earlier as we had a wedding reception to get to. Breakfast was amazing ! A beautiful house and 2 lovely dogs. Thank you Helen.

Interior is elegant and super clean. Helen and John are great host. They are very kind to drive us to town (back and forth!). Really appreciate it . The breakfast is also amazing. • Dee extended a very warm and helpful welcome: she was so kind and the room and ensuite bathroom were VERY clean and comfortable! Loved having a TV, tea making facilities and a mini fridge right in the room. Also, Dee' s dogs are sweet and ready for a snuggle! This was exactly the right place for me, right off the motorway and an easy place to rest during my road trip. There was a nice-looking pub just down the road: wish I'd had time to visit.

  • DO NOT THINK TWICE about staying here! The room was fabulous, comfortable and SOOO spacious, lots of goodies in the bathroom - it felt like being in a hotel. I can't say enough good stuff! Dee is just so bubbly, energetic, exceptionally helpful and immediately likable. So friendly it felt as if we'd met before and her dogs were just adorable too. I even went for a walk with them with Dee. Dee offered a lovely, varied breakfast and OUTSTANDING freshly made lattes with Dee's coffee machine (I'll be including one of those in my next kitchen reno!). Great conversation, full of laughs! What a great way to start the day! The surrounding green fields and beautiful views were just lovely to see. Felt so at home from the first moment I met Dee and will be returning as soon as I can for a longer stay. THANK YOU SO MUCH DEE!!

  • Dee and her husband, Alan were the loveliest hosts we ever had on Airbnb, They are such warm, open and honest people, we got to exchange some nice conversations. They have 3 lovely dogs who are so friendly, my wife was overjoyed being able to play with them. The room was clean and cozy, the private bathroom spacious and provided all goodies you might need (like at a hotel). We also got breakfast served every morning at our hour of choosing. We would definitely stay again, big recommendation.

  • The location is extremely convenient for Bristol and Bath and the village and grounds of this little annexe are stunning. The welcome pack in the modern kitchen (with dishwasher) was very much appreciated and check-in a breeze. The bedroom, though snug, has a very comfortable bed and the private patio is a lovely place to sit on a sunny morning. Jenny and Eric are lovely hosts and I was very grateful for their company over my 2 week stay. I'd recommend the local pub too for wonderful food, especially their Sunday roasts (you'd have to book, though!) and the village shop is surprisingly well stocked for your immediate needs.

Beautiful garden cottage in the heart of the country and close to Badminton, Castle Combe, 12 miles from Bath and 18 miles from Bristol. We are close to the Cotwolds and have easy access to the M4 (5 minutes). Surrounded by a huge garden with ample parking. Countryside getaway in your own very little garden cottage separate from the main house. Double bedroom, bathroom and a newly fitted kitchen / living area. Great for couples, solo adventurers, and business travellers. Pets considered.
  • Nice and easy. Good value. Lovely area.

    Alex2017-04-30T00:00:00Z
  • Let's start with the positives-The garden cottage which we affectionately named, the "Hobbit House" , is immaculate. Add to the mix a friendly family, a former country-woman from Zim and SA , who resides on the grounds and also made us feel very welcome, as well as an adorable dog - and you are are almost guaranteed a perfect stay. Almost- we were a little disappointed with the following: Kate is not strong on follow-up. An e-mail from ourselves to her went unanswered. We called her, believing that it had somehow not been delivered but it had. The listing in terms of space descriptors and amenities is not scrupulously accurate. Functionality of devices and amenities should be checked before the arrival of the guests. The television, listed as an amenity is not functional as the antenna has simply not been connected. ( It was not a case of the telly going on the blink at the most inopportune moment). Kate's Mum also had great difficulty in ensuring that we eventually had wi-fi. Guest comfort has not been considered well enough. The mattress on the bed is most uncomfortable with coils protruding from the sponge and poking into the hapless would-be sleeper. Was this a futon, opened and placed upon the bed-base? We were mystified. Hangers are placed in the chest of drawers but without a wardrobe, the best we could do was hang a few items over the door. As the ceiling is very low, the installation of the shower is lower than standard and makes the small shower pretty uncomfortable. The heaters were installed under the windows, which meant you could not close the curtains with the heaters on. This is a bit inconvenient in terms of privacy in the bedroom, especially. The cottage has no really comfortable space where one can unwind after a day of sight-seeing. Of course space is limited but two armchairs or a cosy two seater couch instead of the upholstered , rigid, upright two -seater bench, would have been welcome. Guests who state in their preference that they require a kitchen, might actually want to cook. Kate's Mum kindly provided a sieve, a large pot and a decent sized frying pan, upon request, but we felt we were being a nuisance unnecessarily, by having to ask for what had not been provided. Kate does not stock the bathroom with soap or shampoo as did our previous host. Perhaps this is not required? That said, it is located within a village that is nothing less than picturesque. It is quiet but for birdsong and the verdant countryside is just perfect for nature walks. Kate 's Mum is welcoming and gracious and went the extra mile to solve a few of the issues we experienced during our stay. We would not recommend more than an overnight or maximum two day stay at present.

  • We had a great stay here. Kate was a very friendly hostes. We were free to ask her everything, but she wasn't pushy. The cottage is very clean. The house was fully equipped and was on an excellent location. The only point of critique we have are the matresses; they are a bit uncomfortable because of the springs you would feel after a night's sleep. Overall we really enjoyed staying here.

Our newly converted stable is 20meters from the entrance Dyrham Park National Trust and only 15mins drive to Bath. Double height ceilings with exposed beams and huge rooms. The style is a mix of contemporary and country chic with one-off antique finds. The bedroom is huge, with super king bed and giant west-facing bay window from which you can view spectacular sunsets. The open plan kitchen and living area has a fully fitted kitchen with dishwasher, a breakfast bar as well as a dining table.
The property is totally separate from the main house giving you total privacy. The space is double height with exposed beams, from which hang vintage light fittings that light-up the space with a warm glow. It has been designed as a haven away from the hectic day-to-day life. We want guests to relax and enjoy the peaceful setting and home comforts. The large L-shaped sofa is super comfy - perfect for kicking back and watching a movie. Plenty of parking in the private driveway. The location is second-to-none: 7min drive from the M4 (junc 18); 15min drive to the centre of Bath. The house is just a few yards from the pedestrian gate into Dyrham Park – perfect for country walks, picnics, or pop into the restaurant for afternoon tea or the famous venison burger & visit the gift and garden shop for gorgeous goodies.
Stunning rural location but just a few miles from the beautiful world heritage city of Bath where you can visit the Bath Spa and the Royal Crescent and Circus. We are on the Cotswold way - perfect for walkers, or anyone fancying a ramble. We are right by the pedestrian gate into Dyrham Park National Trust which is stunning - deer walks, amazing gardens to explore, cafe and lovely gift shop. We're lucky enough to also be close to gorgeous Gloucestershire villages of Badminton, Tetbury (a must for antiques shopping) and the stunning Arboretum at Westonbirt. Bristol with its array of shops (from Harvey Nichols to independent boutiques, funky bars and restaurants) is a 20minute drive.
  • A wonderful property in a great location! The beautiful Dyrham house and park is just seconds away and bath is very close by for some retail therapy! Great hosts who were incredible friendly and helpful! The property has everything you need and is beautifully decorated! Would definitely recommend staying here!

  • Amazing location (next to beautiful Dyrham Park and an easy 30 mins to both Bristol and Bath.) Lucy was a warm and generous host, quick to respond and happy to help with any requests or queries we had during our stay, while also respecting our privacy. Lovely interiors and finishings, particularly the kitchen. The atmosphere inside did feel slightly damp and with a few insects – but I guess it's to be expected in countryside settings! Overall, a pleasant stay and great for our purpose of travel.

  • The Stable is gorgeous! Great accommodation and right near Dyrham House and deer park So we had breakfast in the tearooms which was fabulous. The views and location are lovely and we had everything we needed for a great stay. Many thanks Lucy for sharing this peice of paradise with us.

  • Lucy and her husband are perfect hosts, very approachable and helpful! We loved the kind touches left by them, like fresh butter in the fridge! The apartment and area are beautiful, we will definitely be coming back! :)

  • I had a really enjoyable stay here. Very well equipped kitchen and a lovely big sofa to stretch out on. The location is wonderful and very quiet.

  • Lucys place is great. She was very communicative and left everything prepared for us including extra bits for when we arrived. Loved the location even though the shops are quite far to get to, but if you are driving that should not be an issue.

    Joao2017-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Just WOW. The stable was beautiful, clean, quiet and relaxing. Absolutely perfect. Had everything you could need. It is in the most beautiful location but close enough to Bath and M4 motorway. I will most definitely be booking to stay again.

  • My parents had wonderful stay at Lucy and Jack's place. It offered the perfect respite from London and there was so much great exploring to do locally that they came home raving about their trip. They would go back in a heart beat!

  • Lovely home on the edge of town. Our hosts were very welcoming and the two bedrooms and shared bathroom (with the hosts) were very well furnished and spotless. Unfortunately our visit was connected with the funeral of a close family member and so our minds were elsewhere. Hazel and Andy just let us get on with things, which was perfect.

    Stephen2017-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely home, in a quiet area, ideal for families to stay. Hazel was the perfect host - so welcoming and friendly. Our 5 year old was bowled over by the chickens and horses, so that was a good start! The house is roomy and immaculate in every respect. It is also homely and welcoming. The beds were comfortable and the rooms tastefully decorated. Little touches like toast and cereal for breakfast was much appreciated. Would happily stay again.

  • Lovely house in a quiet area, with really comfortable beds. Hazel and Andy are very friendly, and there's a great pub with nice food and a beer garden about 3 minutes up the road. Couldn't ask for more

  • Unfortunately I had to cancel last minute but Hazel and her daughter Laura were extremely understanding and helpful, would definitely consider this place for our next visit down South!

    Bonita2017-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • My family was very happy about the accommodations. Hazel and Andy were gracious hosts even waiting for us to arrive as they were preparing to go to a wedding that evening. Just a short drive or walk down now the road was a delicious restaurant. In the morning we had very nice chat with Hazel and Andy talking well past late morning about our families. If we ever have the opportunity to tour the area again we would definitely stay here again.

My place is close to Great views and many historic Cotswold villages.. You’ll love my place because of the location, we are in a picturesque village setting close to Cotswold villages, walking trails etc. There are 2 pubs in the village, along with a Post Office and a village shop. We are approx 30 minutes from Bristol City Centre by car. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travellers.
Both village pubs are within easy walking distance and both serve food (one has basic pub grub and the other Italian food) at lunchtimes and in the evening. Both have a selection of real ales.
A friendly, Cotswold village with pubs, a shop and a post office. Ideally situated to explore the Cotswolds, to enjoy walking or to get into Bristol. Lots of local walks we can recommend, with great views.

This charming period house enjoys a superb location in the heart of the picturesque village of Dyrham, located on the Cotswold Way. This is a family home, from the swing under the apple tree to the trampoline tucked away at the end of the garden. Whilst the kitchen has everything you need for cooking up a feast. A great location for visiting a number of the UK’s iconic tourist attractions, Georgian Bath (15 minutes), Stonehenge (an hour away), easy reach of Glastonbury and the South West.
The original part of the property is thought to date back to c1680 but over subsequent centuries it was extended, and more recently it has been beautifully renovated by the current owners. It is now a very spacious, immaculately presented and extremely characterful family home. The house itself is L-shaped and the garden wraps around it so the views from the main living areas are really lovely. And in terms of the location, you can enjoy this beautiful village setting but at the same time be in the centre of Bath in 15 minutes by car. The kitchen is the real hub of the home, it’s right in the middle of the house and looks out over the garden, so you can always keep an eye on the children. The Miele appliances and large expanse of countertops makes baking here an absolute pleasure. It also leads straight into the garden room where we have a big dining table, so the two spaces together create a fabulous area for entertaining. This is a family home, from the swing under the apple tree to the trampoline tucked away at the end of the garden. The kitchen has everything you need for cooking, and there is a built-in bbq in an outdoor terraced area. Just moments walk from the back door, is the gorgeous Dyrham Park - a stately home, managed by the National Trust, with rolling parkland, and formal gardens. You normally bump into the wild deer on a walk here, and there are 2 interesting natural play areas for children.
Things to do nearby: Marshfield Ice Cream Parlour (5 min by car) - a lovely ice cream barn located on this organic farm. Tea and scones at the Dyrham Park Courtyard Cafe (5 min by foot) Sunday Lunch at the Bull in Hinton - a traditional village pub (1 mile walk across the countryside) Walking the Cotswold Way - towards Bath or Tormarton Bath (15 min by car) - a World Heritage site with the Roman Baths, modern luxury Thermae Bath Spa, Jane Austen Musuem, a vast array of amazing restaurants and shops - a walk through the Nash designed streets is a treat in itself. . . Bristol (20 min by car) - SS Great Britain, Clifton Suspension Bridge, @Bristol Centre and much more
  • A really lovely old house with modern interiors. Beautiful secluded garden to play in, great family dining room and awesome kids toys available to use. We really liked the very short walk into the back of the National Trust property right by the cafe!

The Bull Pen is located in the yard of our family farm, we are conveniently located between Bath and Bristol, 5 minutes from the M4, junction 18. We are in a very handy location for those of you visiting the Badminton horse trials. Recent renovations have been carried out with love and care by master builders, it has all of the modern comforts you would expect from a hotel suite but retains the rustic charm of a Cotswold Stone barn with vaulted ceilings and exposed oak beams.
Sands Farm is a working farm, our friends at Marshfield Ice Cream use the land to produce award winning Organic Ice Cream, we have lots of animals including horses and a very friendly donkey named Rupert. The Bull Pen has a great feel, it is very spacious with an open plan kitchen, dining room and lounge leading into the bedroom and bathroom. The property looks out across the yard and open countryside. On summer days open the full length 6 bifold windows and experience wonderful indoor outdoor flow. The patio area has a table and chairs, a lovely place to enjoy a sundowner. Guests can access the Cotswold Way which cuts across the bottom of our garden. At the end of our drive you can visit Dyrham Park, a beautiful National Trust property, book early to feed the deer in their deer park, explore the gardens, take a tour around the house or indulge in a cream tea on the terrace. You can explore our beautiful 70 acre woodland and borrow our crayfish pots and catch supper in the farm lake. Book into The Tollgate for breakfast, lunch or afternoon tea. Our Tearoom is a 10 minute walk across the farm, it has amazing views (70 miles on a good day) across to wales. The historic Roman city of Bath is 8 miles away, use the park and ride on Landsdown (6 miles) next to the race course and beat the traffic and limited parking in Bath. If you are attending an evening function you can always catch a taxi for £35. The Visit Bath website has a full breakdown of current things to do and places to explore. Bristol (17 miles) a city with a story to tell. Enveloped in the hills of South West England, it has its own unmistakable identity, grounded in roots from centuries past and carved out since by passionate locals and spirited fans. The Visit Bristol website has an up to date list of events and things to do. We love Tetbury and Nailsworth, both are around a 25 minute drive away, we recommend an early lunch in Williams Food Hall and Oyster bar in Nailsworth followed by a walk around the beautiful Cotswold village of Tetbury. Stonehenge is an hours drive away.
The village of Dyrham is small, we have Tearooms on the farm serving home cooked food prepared using local produce, The Tollgate is a 10 minute walk across the fields from the Bull Pen. There is a shop in Dyrham Park (5 min walk) selling gifts and National Trust produce, you could also try the cafe there too. The neighbouring village boasts a lovely country pub named The Bull at Hinton. Richard and Marta are great hosts and will look after you, it is a 25 minute walk.
  • We booked the Bullpen to take a long weekend away and were amazed at how beautiful and modern the apartment is. It is located on a farm very close to the stunning Dyrham Park estate and the area has amazing scenery and views, while being close to Bath city. The hosts are very warm and welcoming. Our little girl loved meeting the horses, dogs, cats, rabbits and Rupert the donkey. The Bullpen has been renovated to a very high quality and specification. We have already recommended this beautiful place to family and friends and we hope to return for future family holidays! Thanks Tom and Kate for a wonderful stay!

    Tegwyn2017-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • The Bull Pen is finished to an immaculate standard and Tom and family were lovely hosts. If you like walking, the Cotswolds Way is literally 100m away and Dyrham Park a 15 minute walk. Highly recommended for a quiet getaway!

  • Five star hotel like accommodation but in keeping with the surroundings. Quirky use of out buildings. Every mod con including washing machine. Wet room rain shower a treat. Wi fi connection very good. Could have stayed a week. Surrounding countryside wonderful for walks and views plus places to visit.

    Linda2017-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • Tom's property was in a great location, particularly for garden lovers, in a beautiful part of England. The Bull Pen is a great 'barn' conversion, very cosy on a wet day, and Tom has plans for privacy/screening and plantings to soften and enhance the new amenity. Tom also indicated that he would be modifying the ensuite facilities. Tom was quick to respond to queries and directions before arrival and always available for any queries or assistance during our stay. Thanks Tom, Angela and Rob

  • We had a really lovely and relaxing weekend at The Bull Pen and Sands Farm. The cottage is beautiful, well equipped and comfortable. Its location is incredibly tranquil, surrounded by fields and hills. Tom is the perfect host, very helpful and keen for his guests to be happy and comfortable. Dyrham Park is next door and The Tollgate, just a short walk up the hill, has great food and cakes. The view from there is amazing as well. I would recommend a stay to anyone looking for a relaxing and peaceful holiday.

    Linda2017-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • Tom is a great host and accommodated us at very late notice. The Bull Pen has been beautifully renovated to a high standard and has everything you need for a relaxing break. We took our 6 month old, he loved meeting the friendly dogs and horses. It's a perfect place to stay to explore the surrounding area, we would definitely go again.

    Zoe2017-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a wonderful stay at The Bull Pen. It has recently been renovated to high standard and we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Great tranquil location for us city dwellers, and our son loved the dogs, and feeding carrots to Rupert the donkey. Tom and Kate were very hospitable and were even able to help us out with babysitting arrangements for an evening. We hope to return soon so we can explore more of the surrounding area and relax and recharge at the Bull Pen.

  • What an amazing find, a warm welcome greeted us from Stephanie and Chris. A short walk from the local pub where the food was awesome and smooth live music entertained us. The excellent location just a mile or two from Castle Combe Race track. With the luxurious bathroom and quintessential bedroom that was beautifully and aesthetically decorated in keeping with the period country home within the neighborhood. A generous breakfast helped wake us in the morning. Lovely experience, would thoroughly recommend staying here.
