University
“The University of Maine is a both idyllic and cosmopolitan enclave in the center of Maine, established in 1869 as Maine's land grant institution. In it you'll find a variety of sporting events, topnotch entertainment at the Maine Center for the Arts, a variety of eats at the food court, 1200 acres of hiking and skiing trials, museums, classroom opportunities for the rest of us, all beside the beautiful stillwater river.”

Park
“OK it's a very small park but it's very close - less than 15min by car. You can swim, paddle and sail here. And the lake is almost 8 miles long. While it never gets crowded anywhere in Bangor, this is a place that some people find too plebeian. I still enjoy it.”
