“Bear Mountain is gorgeous! You can take in the beauty of Hessian Lake and enjoy a long walk through the woods around it. You can visit the free Bear Mountain Zoo and see all kinds of animals including the famous black bear exhibit. You can also enjoy one of many hikes around the property including a section of the historic Appalachian Trail, which goes right through Bear Mountain. Additionally, there is an ice skating rink here, a spa, restaurants, multiple areas to picnic or camp and much more. It's certainly worth an afternoon visit especially on a beautiful day. On weekends, you might have to pay $10-20 for parking, otherwise it's free.”
