Beach
“(11 miles from our house.) Beautiful sunrises, excellent bass and blues fishing, surfing, sunbathing, swimming in cool ocean waters. Despite its size, the large parking lot occasionally fills up when the sun is strong. Best to arrive early, or in the late afternoon. The beach is open to off-road vehicles with a special permit. Attendant on duty. Really long beach. Very popular. Great waves. Nice sand. ”

“Cape Cod League play here throughout the summer. There's a playground here which is fun for the little ones, and tennis courts for those a little older! ”

“One of Orleans' hidden gems this donated park originally had a house on it that was removed. The paths are well kept and loop around with wooded views of the water it makes for a nice walk through the woods and it event opens out onto a small beach. A town secret, be prepared to see dogs, as many locals like to walk pets here. ”

“Arey's Pond Boat Yard offers Kayak and Paddle board rentals and offers lessons. In addition, they offer sailing lessons to all ages. It is less than a 5 minute walk from the house down the association path to Arey's pond. ”

“1 mile walk from the house. This beach is so quiet, you'll wonder how you ever managed anything else. Low tide-perfect for walking, tidal pool play. High tide - fun currents. Launch kayaks here and paddle through the Black Fish Creek (see map). Make sure there's enough water in the creek (don't go at low tide) and that it's not so high that you can't get under the bridge on Bridge Rd. Time your trips around tides accordingly. There's a strange phenomenon that happens when the tide is shifting and it's on the way in. Pay attention to other beachgoers and you'll probably see someone else taking advantage. There is a strong current in the inner waterway. If you jump into the water on the left, it will quickly carry you down along the beach to the right while you float on your back. It's pretty fun. Hard to describe but check it out about an hour before high tide. ”
