Your guide to Naples

All About Naples

Located on the Gulf of Mexico two hours northwest of Miami, Naples, Florida, specializes in leisure activity such as shopping, dining, and playing golf on one of its 30 courses, which include some of the finest in the country. In the historic downtown area, you’ll find Fifth Avenue South and Third Street South, the city’s famous shopping strips that boast art galleries, fashion boutiques, jewellery stores, and spas. When you’re through shopping, head to the beautiful Naples beachfront, home to a beach with calm, clear waters, scenic views, and a handful of excellent restaurants that range from upscale fine-dining to casual bistros where you’re likely to find a killer plate of grilled red snapper.

Naples is also the prime base for exploring South Florida’s famous Everglades — a UNESCO World Heritage Site, an International Biosphere Reserve, and a Wetland of International Importance. The Everglades is a natural wonder with a vast wilderness that attracts a long list of wildlife, including alligators, white ibis, and manatees.

The best time to stay in a holiday rental in Naples

Naples enjoys an average of 280 days of sunshine every year. The most pleasant times to visit are April and May and September to November, when you can expect consistent sunshine and a lower chance of rain.

In late November, the Johnsonville Night Lights in the Garden is a highlight when it is illuminated with thousands of colourful lights. Be aware that hurricane season runs from June till October in Florida, so be sure to monitor local weather patterns. While the temperatures do cool down a little in winter, you can still expect plenty of sun and mild days to enjoy the outdoors.

Top things to do in Naples

Naples Botanical Gardens

Spend a day exploring the 170 acres of flora from around the world in these beautiful gardens. The water garden celebrates water lilies, the Caribbean garden is home to 500 types of plumeria, and the Brazilian garden is full of exotic palms and bromeliads. You can take a break and relax in hammocks, have a picnic on the lawn, and enjoy musicians and special performances on the live stage.

Naples Pier

Take a stroll along the historic Naples Pier, where people come to spot dolphins and enjoy the sunset over the water. The pier’s entrance sits on a section of Naples Beach lined by lush palm trees and stretches of white sand, where you can sit and admire the views or take a refreshing dip in the water.

Clam Pass Park

Clam Pass Park has 35 acres of mangrove forest, spectacular dunes, and miles of stunning sandy beach. You can take a wander along the boardwalk, which runs three-quarters of a mile down to the beach, or catch a ride on the free tram. The beach is perfect for swimming or sunbathing, or you can try your hand at stand-up paddleboarding, with rentals available in town.
