With aged oak and natural tones the barn welcomes your tired feet to a stress and city-free escape. On the route between Falmouth and the Helford River, it comfortably fits a couple with a child.
This south facing barn offers year-round accommodation with self catering facilities for those who prefer an independent break. It comfortably accommodates 2 adults and a child; with a large double bedroom and small single room. (The bedrooms are within the pitch of the roof and may not be comfortable for someone over 6'2".) The spacious open plan kitchen/lounge has solid oak flooring and modern cooking facilities with more than adequate space for evenings in. The paneled bathroom is fitted with a shower, WC and basin, with a stone tiled floor and underfloor heating. The utility is fitted with a washing machine and tumble dryer. Guests will be provided with hand and bath towels along with a welcome pack including the essentials needed for self catering. We're willing to provide advice, so please don't hesitate to ask us recommendations for activities or restaurants. We live next to the barn and will be present most of the time.
Pennance Mill is a rural hamlet on the road between Falmouth and Mawnan Smith, with country walks and beaches nearby. It's only a short bus journey or taxi trip into Falmouth, which would cost no more than a few pounds.
  • Absolutely loved this cottage. Great location, walking distance to a lovely cove (with café, even in March). Other nice walks in the area. Rural but within easy reach of the amenities of Falmouth. Super clean and well equipped. Would definitely stay here again.

  • A quality base for a couple of days , very peaceful, good facilities and value for money

  • Very clean and comfortable space with all the amenities you need. A travel cot was kindly provided for our baby. Sharon and her husband were pleasant and friendly. The space was nicely decorated and close to Falmouth and many other Cornish attractions. Would stay again and would reccomend.

  • Had a lovely (if a touch wet and windy!) weekend stay, the place was perfect and cosy and had everything we needed. I would definitely recommend to anyone, such lovely surroundings and great hosts.

  • This cottage is lovely, really close to a small cove just outside of Falmouth. The host's where more than accommodating. There were plenty of toys for our daughter to play with which really helped when not on the beach. The cottage has really well sized rooms and perfect for a small family. it has great transport links and close to coastal walks too. N&K

    Neil2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Sharon’s place was perfect for our short work trip - being just down the road from where we needed to be. It was warm, welcoming and had everything we needed for a really comfortable stay. Sharon and hosts were not intrusive at all and left us to it which was great. We’d certainly try and book again if we are coming to the area again.

    Heather2020-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful and charming cottage within walking distance of a great little beach and some fab coastal walks! The barn was extremely homely, and little added extras like the biscuits on arrival and personalised information sheet really set off the arrival. Lovely stay

This stunning, three double-bedroom Finnish Lodge, nestles into the side of Carn Marth Hill, a World Heritage Site. From the huge triple glazed Cathedral windows there are far reaching views across the rural landscape of mid-Cornwall. Enjoy relaxing by the pool during the day and soaking in the hot tub by night!
The living room is flooded with light from the double height windows as is the mezzanine double bedroom. The wood burning stove creates a cosy atmosphere in the evenings or for winter visits. You will enjoy the hot tub looking out over the rural landscape. The property is well equipped for 6 people to enjoy a very comfortable stay.
We live on the side of Carn Marth Hill and you can walk directly from the house to the top of the hill where you will find a lovely little quarry lake where locals fish and occasionally swim. From here you can see both North and South coasts the walk on to explore more of the many footpaths and bridleways.
  • The Lodge is beaufitul, clean and has great views. The huge window fills the space with natural light and keeps it surprisingly warm! Caroline is very welcoming, we'd have felt very comfortable asking for help at any point if we'd needed it.

    Lauren2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place to get away for a while. Caroline was lovely in assisting us from booking to checking out. I would certainly recommend this place and hopefully one day return for another stay.

    Muhammad2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Caroline’s place felt really special, we arrived a little early due to the rain and Caroline accommodated this with no notice. The alpacas made the place really unique, lovely that they are in the field next door to the property. And the hot tub was a big hit with everyone. And let’s not forget scones fresh from the oven with jam and lashings of clotted cream. Really convenient to get to lots of places as well. We stayed with our friends who have two little girls and an infant and there was plenty of room, two bathrooms definitely helps! I should also mention the property was cosier than I thought it would be even without the fire on. Great for a wet February half term!

    Gillian2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Caroline’s house was lovely and we felt very welcome. From the cream tea with homemade scones on arrival to the luxurious hot tub to the cute and funny alpacas in the back garden, we had a wonderful time. Thank you!

    Elspeth2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely lodge. Super hot tub. Lovely cream tea and the most comfy beds. A super place to stay.

    Deborah2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful lodge set in a picturesque location. Caroline is a wonderful host, answering questions extremely promptly pre-arrival , then offering her assistance on arrival with her knowledge of the local area. The lodge is extremely well appointed & the hot tub is toasty toasty! Highly recommended!

    Emma2019-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • Nicely located, tucked out of the way about so nice and peaceful but close enough to East South and West coasts. Didn't explore too much as weather was being very British but what we did see were some nice walks and welcoming pubs. Cosy to stay in thanks to the log burner too. A really nice way to escape for a days.

    Alex2019-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • From arrival to departure a very comfortable and enjoyable stay. Amazing cream tea supplied by the host enjoyed by the log burner whilst watching the llamas!

A stylishly furnished king-sized annex overlooking the garden with its own private entrance. The room is at the back of our Victorian townhouse and has its own ensuite shower room and a private parking space. It is located in central Falmouth close to the town centre, beaches, rail stations and some of the university campus buildings. It is ideal for couples, parents visiting their kids at university and business travellers. Please note there's no breakfast, only tea, coffee and hot chocolate.
The room and its ensuite are in an annex with its own private entrance through the garden. Guests are welcome to use the garden. Please note that there are no cooking facilities, but there is a small silent fridge. It is a quiet and comfortable space for a good nights sleep with its king-sized bed and blackout curtains. There is a private ensuite with walk in shower. Shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, soap and towels are provided. There is a 'storage corridor' with plenty of room to put suitcases etc and guests can hang clothes on hooks and hangers. There is a completely silent fridge, a DAB radio/bluetooth speaker next to the bed, and a desk to work at, or to sit and drink a cup of tea, coffee or hot chocolate. Please note that no breakfast is provided, but you are welcome to bring your own things to eat, or there are plenty of lovely cafes for breakfast in Falmouth close by.
The house is near the town centre, so there are a lot of great restaurants and some nice independent shops within easy walking distance, and a Tesco supermarket less than 5 mins walk into town. There are fab independent cafes called Espressini and Good Vibes Cafe close by which do great breakfasts and coffee, or there is a Wetherspoon pub/restaurant 2 mins walk into town which does a good full English breakfast for very little money. Or I can recommend Gylly Beach Cafe for breakfast - it is only 20 mins walk and literally on the beach!
  • Excellent. Clean and comfy. Really convenient for getting to the town centre.

  • Exceptional! Despite having pretty awful weather, we had a lovely week here. Heron's Catch is immaculately clean, tastefully decorated and well equipped. With wonderful views over the Truro River, the house is in a lovely Village setting, but still close enough to Truro Town for shopping and onward travel to explore Cornwall.

    Paul2019-11-29T00:00:00Z
  • House with amazing view and very cozy! Pretty sure to come back once! Great communication with Sarah.

    Silvia2019-11-18T00:00:00Z
  • Heron’s Catch is a little gem in a beautiful location. We had a lovely stay. The house is very well presented and has been beautifully converted to provide a light and airy space with fantastic and beautiful views. If only we could have made the most of the garden. Perhaps a bit difficult in October! Even when it was pouring outside we had a cosy stay simply enjoying watching the changing river. Thoroughly recommended. Thanks again.

    Owen2019-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • Really enjoyable break. House had great view from lounge and deck and is very well furnished and kitted out. The pub was very handy and the ferry a good way to get around for walks. Many thanks

  • Beautiful, comfortable accommodation with excellent views. Parking can be a problem particularly between 4pm and 6pm on a sunny evening.

    Juliet2019-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful place! The hosts have thought of everything and the spot is beautiful, high recommended.

    Ruth2019-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was fantastic, and as described in the listing. Sarah made sure all needs were catered for, including the thoughtful dog friendly touches. The cottage was immaculate and ideally situated. The kitchen was well stocked with all the essentials, and the views were spectacular. There were binoculars for us to gaze across the river at herons nesting. It was nice to have such a great pub practically on our door step, and there were some lovely walks just outside as well. All in all, we couldn't ask for anything more idyllic. Thank you for everything

    Sharon2019-05-25T00:00:00Z
  • This is ideal accommodation in a great location for exploring both North and South Cornwall. All the household amenities you would require were provided which made for a relaxing holiday. Would thoroughly recommend for a holiday break.

Lovely, snug flat perfect for two guests looking to hide away somewhere in the middle of Falmouth, with gated parking and outside seating area overlooking the harbour.
Falmouth is well known for its waterside activities, and lively town vibe; and this flat gives great access to both. It's bang smack in the middle of the town, right on the water, and has the rarest of advantages in town - its own parking spot, which is inside a secure gated area. Newly refurbished, it's clean, warm and comfortable, but also (hopefully) tastefully kitted out with some home comforts. For sunny days, you won't be found wanting for access to any number of activities, safe in the knowledge that your car doesn't need to move after x number of hours. Regular activities on the main town squares are within easy walking distance, boat trips from the pier are on your doorstep, and the ferry to St Mawes less than 100 metres away. For rainy days, there's the telly with access to Sky...plus a variety of board games...and a PS3 with some old school classics...not to mention the bookshelf...or DVDs. Lastly, I do love a good coffee, so there's a nice Nespresso machine here to be used.
Falmouth is a year-round vibrant town, unique to Cornwall in that there is the omnipresent university crowd who give the area its energy. Three great beaches, countless good eateries, river cruises, fishing trips, walking routes of any length, pubs-a-plenty, and near to any number of days out...this town really is a great centre to a south Cornwall break.
  • Lovely modern apartment, located by ferry pier with views over estuary. Convenient for town/shops, National Maritime Museum, Pendennis castle, St Mawes castle (by ferry). Secure parking a bonus.

  • Don’t be put off by having to access this place via a very basic staircase; the flat itself is a delight. It is clean, modern, spacious, and contains everything you need for an enjoyable stay. There is an excellent view over the pier, and the central location means that all amenities of the town are on the doorstep. Whilst the location also means that it can get quite noisy, particularly at closing time - keep the front window fully closed, and the noise isn’t a problem. Steve gives clear and comprehensive instructions for access to the car park and the flat, and has provided many thoughtful touches to help to make an enjoyable stay. We hope to return soon.

    John2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • A great location in the heart of Falmouth. We could see the sea from the sofa - we hadn't expected that. The host did everything he could to make us comfortable. We really enjoyed our short stay.

    Maura2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Fabulous flat in a great location. Steve is very communicative and there are some really thoughtful touches in the apartment. I would definitely look to use it again for future visits to my daughter whilst she’s at uni there.

    Pippa2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Really great place, location and views and comfy sofa! Thanks for the ear buds too it was a bit noisy Saturday night but we wouldn’t have swapped staying as close to town as we were! Honestly the location really made our trip and the secure parking was great! We walked through town each evening and we didn’t have to drive anywhere! The recommendation for the pub for Sunday carvery was excellent! In fact one of the best parts of our trip! Milk, butter and coffee was a really nice touch and made it perfect for when we arrived ! Even though weather was bad all weekend there was a window of sunshine this morning and we had the perfect breakfast on the deck with that view ! TV was spot on especially having sky plus and PS 3, so we could watch Netflix!

    Lisa2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • The flat was an amazing base to explore not only Falmouth but also Cornwall. It was the perfect place to warm up after a blustery day out and also to enjoy quiet evenings in. The location is perfect, with easy access to a whole host of places to eat and drink, and the flat itself was well equipped and extremely comfortable! Steve was an excellent host - the best we have ever had staying in an Airbnb and sorted out any queries we had quickly! We could not recommend this place more!

    Lucy2020-02-22T00:00:00Z

The ensuite for this bedrooom contains a large shower unit making it suitable for anyone using a manual wheel chair. Patio doors from this bedroom lead into the courtyard. The whole ambience of the property is a relaxed boutique style- our guests have commented on how welcoming Smithy is as a place to unwind and enjoy exploring Cornwall from.
Perranwell offers superb access to both north and south coasts. It is a delightful rural farming village with good local amenities and easy access to Truro and Falmouth. The iconic Royal Oak pub is a must with its fabulous food and excellent craft beers (booking essential if you want to dine there). It is a short walk from Smithy and so is the local shop and PO. If you fancy a special experience why not hire a Morgan sportscar from the local garage. Perranwell Station is a great place to unwind in but equally offers easy access to the many beautiful beaches and incredible scenery of the North and South coasts of Cornwall.
  • Lovely, comfortable cottage in great location with local shop opposite and pub a two minute walk down the road. Anne a great host offering us a warm welcome, tea and cake and local advice.

  • Gorgeous cottage in a great location. Annie & Kevin are brilliant hosts and the cottage is charming but modern. It has some lovely features including a log burner. The downstairs bedroom is large with superb access and has a lovely courtyard waiting through French doors. Perfectly located for the village amenities, the pub is a must for excellent food and beer. Train to Falmouth & Truro makes it a perfect location. Book!

  • We had everything we needed at this cosy cottage. A perfect location for exploring across Cornwall and also a lovely little village with a welcoming pub and shop. Lots of guidance of places to visit and friendly hospitality. The house was very well equipped (it would have been easy to cook full meals although we ate at the pub a couple of times) and the whole property was extremely clean. We would have loved to have stayed longer.

    Zoe2019-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • Anne's cottage is delightful and in a strategic position to visit the Cornwall. The pub which is just a few steps away serves excellent typical food. We have had wonderful days. Thanks Anne.

  • Annie is a wonderful host, she has thought of just about everything to make you feel at home. We particularly enjoyed the well equipped kitchen, power shower and the lovely little courtyard area at the back of the cottage and the bright seating area which overlooks it. The cottage is very well situated in the heart of the village with a well stocked shop across the road and a great pub/restaurant 2 minutes walk up the road. We found Annie's list of beaches in the area very useful when planning our days out. We had a great time, thanks Annie.

The cottage was in a perfect location for us, with plenty to do nearby, and the accommodation included everything we needed for a comfortable holiday with our two year old daughter. We would love to return one day...

It is an extremely quiet location but close to local village amenities including 'The Royal Oak', Perrawell Village Stores with everyday home baked bread and small deli, lovely local off-road walks on the doorstep.

  • A perfect place from which to visit 2 outstanding National Trust properties, Tresillick and Glendurgan Gardens. Very close to Falmouth town centre (and you have parking) as well as the sea. Well appointed and spotlessly clean - the bed was really comfortable.

    Nick2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • The space was sparking clean with great amenities. Very stylist and great location right by the sea! We had a really lovely stay and would come back again!

  • Great location , sparkling clean and comfortable facilities, lovely sea views and the option to use Falmouth Hotel facilities for dining or leisure, swimming pool etc.

    Juliet2019-11-26T00:00:00Z
  • Richards flat was both comfy and clean, it was a great size - perfect for two. The flat is conjoined to The Falmouth Hotel, so felt very safe. It was less than a minutes walk to the sea front and was a fab spot for running. I'd recommend this very affordable little flat if you're coming down to Falmouth!

    Grace2019-11-22T00:00:00Z
  • Fabulously located, comfortable apartment within very easy reach of the seafront and the beautiful Garden Room bar and bistro at the Princess Pavilion.

    Mark2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful, airy apartment in the grounds of the Falmouth hotel - literally two minutes’ walk to the seafront, and about 10 minutes into Falmouth town, which was perfect for us. The apartment was well-equipped for cooking, nicely decorated and very comfortable. Our only slight issue would be that we sometimes had some noise from the nearby catering part of the hotel in the morning (however, we are quite late risers, so for people waking up at a more normal time, this probably wouldn’t be such an issue!). It was a lovely place to stay, and we would be very happy to come back.

    Hannah2019-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • Pipit is in a great location right across the road from the sea with views from the apartment. Town is only 10-15 minute walk away and as there was onsite parking so we could leave the car and walk into town. The apartment was clean with all the facility’s you need and the washing machine was a real bonus as we had been travelling for 2 months. It was good to have a lift too as the apartment is on the second floor, saving us having to get our bags up the stairs. Would happily stay here again.

  • Ben and Lou are wonderful hosts and very welcoming. Loved the open space and light in the Annex. Very comfortable stay and we enjoyed meeting Maggie the chicken. We ate at the Norway Inn, I would recommend carrying on past to the Royal Oak as food was over cooked and I had to stoop to walk through the bar as beams are very low (I'm 5,11). Can't fault our stay though. Slept really well and look forward to visiting again. Thank you Ben and Lou.

  • What a wonderful place, couldn’t recommend it enough, very spacious living quarters. There is a powerful shower in the downstairs bathroom. The annex has a separate entrance to the rest of the house, so you can come and go and not have to worry about disturbing anyone. The location was great with the Norway Inn at the bottom of the hill. We didn’t eat there but will most definitely on our next visit. Ben was the best host, waiting on our arrival which was after 9pm, showing us how everything worked. There is breakfast items, tea, coffee and a fresh bottle of milk in the fridge Looking forward to our next visit. Thanks Ben and Lou

  • Unfortunatly we didnt get to stay at bens place due to having a car accident on the way into cornwall. We messaged ben and he was very understanding. We are hoping to carry on our cornwall trip next month and hopefully when we have dates are going to try and book bens place again as it looks lovely. Hope to see you soon. Thank you for your understanding

  • Ben was an amazing host, communication from the get-go was fantastic. The house was very modern, clean and had a lovely atmosphere. The trees surrounding the property were green even in January leaving you with beautiful views and a fun tree house feel. Two pubs within walking distance was a bonus, we went to the closer one (Norway Inn) as the other (Royal Oak??) was fully booked (so book a table in advance if you can). Ben told us to let him know if we needed anything during our stay and even came back with a torch for our walk down to the pub which was very thoughtful. The front drive is easy to access for parking. Cereal, tea, coffee and fruit is provided with fresh milk for a easy quick breakfast. There is a fridge, microwave and sink. They also had a smart tv and plenty of DVD's (and games) to load into the PS2. An amazing stay, thank you for having us.

Having a car is useful as nearest shops/town are a little drive away. The space was so relaxing and peaceful at all times - can’t fault it.

  • Beautiful modern cottage setting in gorgeous, tranquil woodland/countryside surroundings with lovely onsite pool and other facilities. Cottage was clean and very spacious for two and our little baby. Had everything you need (beds made and towels provided etc ) just need to bring your own self-catering basics if you're staying longer than 1 night; tea, coffee, sugar, salt/pepper etc as only a small amount supplied. Perfect location to explore the area - Falmouth really close as well as a selection of beautiful beaches. Pool area was an added bonus and surrounded by beautiful oak trees and the hot tub and sauna were lovely and hot!

  • Lovely place, part of a home but with your own space. Great location especially if you are visiting Penryn or the University campus. A few breakfast bits provided which is nice to see.

  • Although our stay was short with Deborah, we found it lovely and cozy, felt at home straight the way. Lovely and clean, bed was so comfy. Huge shower. Breakfast was supplied, fantastic selection. Even our dog was made welcome too. Definitely recommend.

  • I visited Penryn with my daughter to look at the uni and Deborah's place is the perfect base. We got the train and the walk was only 10/15 minutes from the station. Walking to the uni was about 20/25 minutes and Falmouth was easily reached by train or bus. Despite not having a car, we were able to reach places easily. Deborah was really helpful, giving us advice how to get around as well as places to eat. We ate at the Muddy Beach in Penryn the first night which was walkable and the food was really good. Deborah's place was just what we needed for our weekend in Cornwall. We had the downstairs to ourselves and the room had an ensuite shower/kitchenette where we could make a cup of tea, toast etc. Thoughtful touches such as milk, juice etc in the fridge were much appreciated as well as bagels and cereal left for breakfast. All mod cons were provided such as an iron, hairdryer, washing machine etc. We also had access to a private seated area outside but we were so busy visiting the local area, we didn't get time to make use of it. I would highly recommend staying at Deborah's and if our daughter ends up at the uni, I will definitely be returning! Many thanks to you all for having us as airbnb guests! Charlotte.

  • Great. Easy location if you're visiting university campus for anything.

    Daniel2019-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • I spent a weekend in Penryn for a conference at the University campus. Deborah’s house is lovely and she made me feel at home. I arrived very late for the check-in and most of the restaurants around were already closed, but Deborah was so kind to find one that was still open and order dinner for me. Her cat was very welcoming as well, he personally came to my room to say hi :)

  • A beautiful cornish cottage that is cosy, warm and in a lovely quiet village setting. Tara is a warm happy to help kind of lady who makes you feel very welcome im her home. We arrived quite late (after 22:00) but it was not an issue for her at all. To top it off she has the softest, fluffiest cat I have ever met and I fell in love (I am a dog person), it was hard not to take him with us when we left

The property is clean, comfortable & has all of the amenities that you would require for a short stay or long holiday in this beautiful part of England. Clare is a wonderful host. Highly recommended.

  • Clare's lovely apartment is very comfortable and sunny (the weather was gorgeous for my stay). The shower is terrific, and the couches especially wonderful for relaxing. I am a trail runner, and was delighted to discover many wonderful running trails just a few blocks from the door. The location is perfect for anyone wanting easy access by foot to the train station, university, or downtown Penryn, and Falmouth is an easy bus ride (or a pleasant 45-minute walk) away.

Light airy room in Frogpool, a small village within easy reach of both the north & south coast & close to the Penryn Campus of the University of Exeter.
Situated in the quiet village of Frogpool, between Falmouth and Truro this house is perfect for anyone wanting to visit Cornwall, but stay a little off the beaten track & as such you own transport is definitely required in this area. There is always plenty of parking just outside. The room is fresh, and light, getting the afternoon sun, and a great place to stay as a base for those wanting to explore. There's a village pub that serves food and drink within walking distance. As well as the room we allow guests access to the bathroom, kitchen & outside areas. Guests are free to come & go as they please. We are pet friendly, we ask for a small additional charge payable on booking for your furry (or not so furry) friends. We're about a 10 minute drive from the University & 15 minutes from Falmouth which is the gateway to the beautiful Fal River which runs through an Area Of Natural Beauty. The town is famous for its creative buzz with many art galleries displaying contemporary works and venues showcasing independent films and live bands. The many reasons to visit include, the fascinating maritime heritage; the Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty along the Helford and Fal Rivers – perfect for walking and family days out; water sports; boat trips running from the pier and quay; and plenty of family friendly attractions. Falmouth is surrounded by several fantastic family friendly beaches and is known for its year round events calendar. Truro the only city in Cornwall is a 20 minute drive from us, the UK’s most Southerly city is a vibrant centre of shopping, culture and impressive architecture right in the heart of Cornwall. Centre stage is Truro Cathedral with its impressive gothic towers dominating the skyline. In its shadow, a warren of compact streets are home to an impressive array of independent traders. From boutiques to bookshops and designer interiors to delicatessens, this great little city offers a unique shopping experience. The café culture is pretty impressive too, with hip coffee houses, artisan ice creameries and cocktail bars dotted across the centre. We're also about a 25 minute from spectacular north coast beaches, Perranporth with it's 3 miles of golden sands & Chapel Porth with it's incredible cliffs & old mine workings are 2 of our favourites.
Our neighborhood is lovely, it's quiet and peaceful. Close to both the north & south coast beaches & plenty of walking. We are both mountain bikers, and there are some great trails right on our doorstep.
  • Cat, put her trust in me to stay in her lovely home whilst she and her husband were away, considering we haven't actually met each other. They have a lovely home which is very clean and comfortable, and I always like to treat someone else's home the same way I like people to treat mine, with care and respect. I would definitely stay there again and would highly recommend it.

We are situated in a delightful rural location - it sometimes feels like we could be a million miles from the hustle and bustle, but everything needed is actually in very easy reach. For groceries and other supplies, the closest shops are: o Londis in Lanner: A small convenience store North of Bell Lane, which closes at 8pm o Co-op in Redruth: A larger convenience store on the main road in, open until 9pm o Tesco in Redruth: A reasonably sized super-market o Asda in Penryn: A larger supermaket with homegoods, clothing, etc. And the nearest filling stations are: o Gulf in Lanner, South of Bell Lane o Imperial on the A393 between Lanner and Ponsanooth Asda in Penryn typically has the lowest cost fuel. The nearest ATM is located in the Gulf filling station in Lanner. Redruth, Penryn and Falmouth are all within easy reach and have the usual range of for High street banks. If you don’t feel like cooking, the fish and chip shop in Lanner is fantastic, and Portreath Bakery (also in Lanner) sells amazing (bona fide!) Cornish pasties and other goodies. And of course being in the countryside means we have some fantastic walks directly from the farm. The vehicle gate to the left of the farmhouse leads to a bridle way which in turn leads to a network of public footpaths, including the historic and scenic mining trails. For a relatively easy 30-40 minute walk, turn right out the gate and head up the hill past the farmhouse. This will eventually lead you to the road from Lanner which you can follow back to the property in circuit.
  • A very warm welcome and a very comfortable place to stay in a lovely quiet setting. Conveniently located for north and south coasts as well as Truro and other local attractions, we (and our dogs) really enjoyed our stay. Highly recommended.

  • I stayed at the barn for 2 nights whilst visiting my daughter who is at uni in Penryn. All I can say is I’m so glad I found the barn! What an absolute gem it is. Iain and Julia were fabulous hosts, welcoming and friendly. The barn was so cosy and warm , with everything you need. The large kitchen was really well equipped. The bed was sooooo comfy with beautiful cotton bed linen. It was a real treat to come back to every evening. I loved feeding the alpacas in the morning. I thought the barn was incredible value for money and would whole heartedly recommend it!

  • A very good stay and total value for money. It’s a great location if you don’t mind a little drive out in the evenings but would be completely perfect for someone looking for somewhere very quiet which is exactly how we like things! Very many thanks for having us indeed as we would certainly book again.

    John2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Iain’s place was lovely and cosy, it is situated in the countryside but only 5/10 min drive from the town. He has a little small holding with alpacas, angora goats and horses which is a lovely touch for an animal lover like myself! Lots of rural walks around too which is perfect for the dog!

    Lauren2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Cosy and immaculately clean. Iain and Julia are excellent hosts with a beautiful property and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it. Brilliant location for North and South coasts with stunning views of the Cornish countryside.

    Debbie2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Amazingly friendly and helpful owners with a lovely Cornish farmstead. The lodge was exactly what we wanted; comfortable, warm, clean and full of character. Our dog loved the nearby walks along the bridleways and beaches, as well as the farm animals (the alpacas especially!) Communication was quick, directions were accurate and it was a bargain for the price! We would definitely stay here again.

    Lewis2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • Iain and Julia We’re perfect hosts and we loved our stay . The place was perfect to step off life’s hustle and bustle and great central location to trip around with the best of what Cornwall has to offer .

We have enjoyed creating a stylish cosy guest space that fits in with it’s beautiful rural surroundings. Buzzard Outlook is situated in the hamlet of Porth Kea in an area of outstanding natural beauty, close to the backwaters of Coombe and Cowlands Creek. The picturesque Roundwood Quay is also very close by and a hidden gem. An ideal location for walkers, cyclists and for those who enjoy being in touch with nature. A tranquil, peaceful break away from the town or city centre (2 miles away).
The stylish open plan configuration is on one level with a fully fitted kitchen and dining area; the space is exceptionally light and airy with a modern yet cosy feel. The kitchen is equipped with a dishwasher, microwave, toaster, kettle, cooker with ceramic hob and a coffee machine to provide our guests with those added extras. The property also offers a wood burning stove, double seater sofa with footstool and a flatscreen smart TV, free Wi-Fi and Netflix. The bedroom accommodates a comfortable king-size bed, flatscreen smart TV and ensuite shower room.
Buzzard Outlook is conveniently placed for exploring the north and south coast, tucked away in a very peaceful location set in rolling open countryside just 2 miles south of Truro. The National Trust 's Trelissick Gardens is within easy reach for keen walkers or cyclists, as is the King Harry Ferry that takes you across to the breathtaking Roseland peninsula. A car is recommended for exploring the Roseland Peninsula; a bike is also an option for the keener cyclist! The Cathedral City of Truro with it’s pretty cobbled streets and beautiful architecture is 2 miles away. It has plentiful shops, restaurants and coffee shops as well as a Farmer’s market every Saturday and Wednesday at Lemon Quay. The vibrant harbour town of Falmouth can be reached in approximately 15 minutes by car - it’s streets lined with shops, art galleries, cafés and restaurants. It’s beaches: Gylllngvase, Swanpool and Maenporth can be found where kayaks and paddle boards are available for hire to explore the coastline from the water. Gyllyngvase beach café comes highly recommended, as does Hooked On The Rocks fish restaurant at Swanpool beach and The Cove at Maenporth. The Wheel House is an amazing shell fish restaurant in Falmouth and extremely popular with the locals. The Meat Counter is great for Burgers, Rick Steins for Fish and Chips and The Ranch for a good Sunday Roast or Steak. The Pandora - a renowned creekside Inn, is in a picture postcard setting with it’s thatched roof, low beamed ceilings and traditional flagstone floors. It can be reached by car in approximately 15 minutes. The stunning sandy beaches on the north coast are circa 10 miles away: Perranporth, Porthtowan and Chapel Porth attract surfers and offer great beach bars too. Mawgan Porth and Watergate Bay are also great beaches for surfing and not to be missed. Take a trip to Lelant St. Ives from Truro train station and visit the Porthminster Cafe, voted one of the top 10 beach cafés in The Times. You will have to book in advance! Located on the picturesque Porthminster beach. Our local well stocked Spar Shop with post office is approximately a mile and a half away.
  • Buzzard’s Outlook is situation in a quiet and rural location. It is very clean and comfortable, a great place to stay to explore Cornwall. Although we visited on a very wet and windy weekend, we made the most of the fire and had a very relaxing time in this cosy spot. I’d certainly recommend staying here and Jessica is a great thoughtful host. We’d love to come back when the sun is shining to make the most of the views and outside space.

    Laura2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Way above all expectations! We have recently spent a few days here over New Years Eve and our year couldn’t have ended in a better place. The cabin is stylish, sparkling clean, light but cosy and very high tech. The finishing touches and attention to detail were amazing and much appreciated. We had a lovely time and would 100% recommend and will be back.

  • Small (as stated in the description) but exquisite! Set in an area of outstanding natural beauty, Buzzard Outlook is a real gem with a bright contemporary feel supported by traditional values. The property nestles in the rolling countryside overlooking the Fal estuary. My visit was a short stay over 3 days of Christmas, I was overwhelmed from the moment I opened the door, light, bright, tastefully furnished and welcoming. All amenities were clean and - as with everything else - well presented. The welcome pack was thoughtfully crafted and my impression is that the host has set a very high bar for this property, which honestly she has exceeded. I wish the host every success with this fabulous property and have already said I will be back and back!

    Christopher2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • Great location for exploring the local area!

    Ollie2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • What a fabulous house! Cannot fault anything; sparkling clean, homemade guide and lovely little touches (chocolates on the bed, and scones with jam & cream ready and waiting). Checked ourselves in/out with the lock box/key safe. Perfect short getaway.

  • A lovely, quiet, comfortable, private place to stay. Nicola was very welcoming and even had a bottle of wine waiting for us along with 6 fresh hens eggs. Then Clive brought us some fresh garden produce! What with local information and lovely country walks starting on the door step,it was the perfect place for us to base ourselves!

    Elise2019-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful place! We felt at home straight away, a really cosy cottage full of character. The owner Nicki was very welcoming and was only too happy to help us with anything we needed. We were even welcomed with fresh hens eggs and wine on arrival which was a lovely touch! The surrounding area was stunning, with horse stables opposite and such beautiful landscape, it was a real joy to wake up to every morning. Our two young daughters settled in very quickly, none of us wanted to go home! We would highly recommend Roseland cottage and hope to return in the future. Thank you!

My place is close to the beaches and great views of The Atlantic in the north and the sea in the south. There are restaurants and dining and art and culture in nearby towns of Falmouth and St Ives. It's an unique area where you can discover old Cornish mining sites. You’ll love my place because of the views and the space in my garden. The cottage is cosy and full of light. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travellers, and families with kids.

Trina is a perfect host, providing enough personal space to her guest but being there at the same time with her very thoughtful details. The house is extremely clean and it is located in a wonderful quiet and beautiful area but well connected as well. I would recommend it to any friend visiting the area.

Possessing probably the most astonishing view of any holiday home in Cornwall, this former meteorological observatory is a unique place to stay. Offering 360 degree views of Falmouth, the whole of the Fal estuary and across Falmouth Bay, you will be mesmerised both day and night. Presented to the highest standards, providing luxury accommodation, this is a very special place to stay.
Set on a hill, overlooking town, sea and river, The Observatory Tower occupies the highest point in Falmouth. It was built in 1868, as a meteorological observatory, where people could watch and identify incoming weather. Originally it had a parapet wall on top. Unfortunately The Tower went into disrepair over the years and was eventually sold at auction in 2009, when the new owners set about its complete renovation, restoring wherever possible. They were keen to keep the restoration as sympathetic to its heritage, while also updating it for the 21st century, to make it a luxurious and comfortable modern holiday home with every amenity you could possibly wish for. Located close to the heart of Falmouth, it is just a short 6 minute walk down the hill to the famous National Maritime Museum Cornwall as well as all the attractions, restaurants and pubs along Falmouth's historic waterfront. Highlights include Rick Stein's Fish & Chip shop and Oyster Bar. You could also enjoy a leisurely pint of local brew outside the Chain Locker pub overlooking the Custom's House Quay! If you fancy spending some time on the beach, the sand at Gyllyngvase is about a 12 minute walk away. Accommodation Ground Floor: A private bedroom, with 4'6" bed and TV, complete with ensuite wet-room & WC, is situated on the ground floor. There is a separate utility room which leads to a small external courtyard at the rear of the property. First floor: On the first floor is a flexible space used as a living room, but easily converted to a second bedroom when the wall bed (4'6") is pulled down. This allows up to 4 people to be comfortably accommodated. There is a separate bathroom with overhead shower & WC. Second floor: The kitchen on the second floor is both functional and interesting at the same time. The history of The Observatory Tower is depicted through photographs, plans and original weather reports, set behind a glass splashback. A bright and airy space, with rooftop views over Falmouth to north, south, east and west. Third floor: The main living room on the 3rd floor, with its large picture window overlooking Falmouth Bay, is a precursor to the top floor. Its funky sofa was specially designed to fit the space, with fabrics chosen to reflect the changes in the weather. Fourth floor: After scaling the 66 steps to the top, the observation deck on the 4th floor is what this building is all about. The 360 degree views are breathtaking and if you don't know what you are looking out at, the pelmet art above the windows will help you identify local landmarks. On this floor there is a wine fridge, a sink and facilities for making hot drinks which you can enjoy whilst taking in the wonderful views. Facilities & Services Heating is via under floor heating throughout the property. The kitchen is fully equipped and has a range of modern equipment. There is an electric oven & hob, toaster, fridge with freezer compartment, microwave & dishwasher. There is boiling water on tap in both the kitchen and observation deck. The separate utility room has a washer dryer. In the living room there is a large flatscreen digital TV & DVD player. There is also a TV in the master bedroom. There is WiFi available at the property. There is an iron & ironing board. Miscellaneous Electricity, heating, bed linen & towels are all included but you will need to provide your own beach towels. On street parking is available nearby. Regrettably no dogs are permitted. Strictly no smoking is allowed. Please note that due to the nature of the building, the property is not suitable for children under the age of 12. Please also note that there are many stairs in the property and some are a little narrow in places. General Booking Information Arrival / Departure is normally on a Friday. Short breaks are available during quieter periods. £200 pre-authorised to your credit or debit card as a security deposit is required.
Falmouth, the sailing capital of Cornwall, is renowned for being the third deepest natural port in the world, a haven for both cruisers and racers offering the sailor the last major port before the 12 hour crossing to the Isles of Scilly. Visitors to the Port will find the town teeming with coastal treasures, ranging from fish restaurants and boat trips to The National Maritime Museum, Cornwall next to Port Pendennis. Pendennis Castle built in the 16th Century sits high above the harbour with truly magical panoramic views across the bay. You can ride one of the Fal River Link Ferries to the beautiful St Mawes and visit Henry VIII’s sister castle or take a delightful trip around the estuary stopping off at either Trelissick Gardens or Smugglers Cottage for a cream tea. Falmouth Regatta Week, in August is the town's major event both on and off the water, fireworks and the recent addition of the Red Arrows provides a spectacular back drop for some high class racing. Later in the year the Oyster Festival shows off the rivers heritage to the full. Pendennis Shipyard host luxury yachts for re-fit and and in June 2012 Falmouth will host the J Class Regatta, the most spectacular event since the Tall Ships Race last visited in 2008. There are plenty of places to eat & drink in Falmouth and recently Rick Stein brought his Fish & Chip Restaurant & Oyster Bar to Discovery Quay adding to the superb mix across the town.
  • Great, unique place to stay. Amazing views from the top floor, as other reviewers have said. Eating breakfast up there every morning is a great way to start the day! No parking space allocated, but very close street parking is available - we had no issues finding a space throughout the whole 5 days. 2 large bathrooms (one containing a frankly enormous bathtub), under floor heating throughout, instant boiling water tap and dishwasher in the kitchen, smart tv with Netflix in the living room. Great Air BnB.

  • A really great property. Architecture and finishes throughout have transformed this unique building. The top floor view quite magical. Built in fitness campaign as well!

    Catherine2019-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic views from the observatory and the property is warm and comfortable with everything you need. You will feel a little fitter after living in a property with so many stairs but that is no bad thing. It is also obviously a steep walk into town but equally not very far. Parking nearby is easy and safe. There are plenty of restaurant choices in town and plenty to do locally.

  • Simon is a great host! No quibbles refund as we had to postpone our trip due to Storm Dennis. Also, we could extend an additional day without any issues. The place is just right for the family with a fireplace, well equipped kitchen amongst other things. Great Location as most of the sightseeing is equidistant. Will certainly visit again

A light airy room in our private annexe near public transport, a beautiful park and an easy walk down into town where you will find familiar shops, a vast variety and abundance of cafes and restaurants. See the ferries to St. Mawes and Flushing go back and forth. Easily walk to the beaches and visit the well known Gylly beach cafe. Falmouth has so much on offer for all ages.
The annexe is joined to our house but has its own entrance. There is an internal door that has been blocked and is locked! There is plenty of on road parking.
The ‘Neyth’ is perfectly placed for the town centre, beaches and the University of Falmouth. All are within easy walking distance. It is on a residential road.
  • Very clean, beautiful room, and thoughtful touches. Lynne communicated well and we had a lovely stay.

  • A lovely neat and tidy place to stay just outside Falmouth centre. Thoughtful touches like milk, bottles water and tea/coffee and biscuits were a nice touch especially after our long drive down. Easy to park our car and zip between Penryn and Falmouth centre. Also nicely located for day trips to Helston and St Ives.

  • Lynn responds to messages very promptly. Allowed us earlier check in and later departure today as weather was horrendous which was very kind. The room was spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated with tea coffee milk water biscuits and cereal provided. Great location, bed was really comfy couldn't fault any aspect of the facilities. Will definitely return again. Thanks Lynn and Adam.

  • Everything about our stay here was perfect from the exceptional hospitality to the keen eye for detail needed to design such a unique and cosy hut. Randall and Annie went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and at home, giving us fresh eggs and homemade bread aswell as a welcome hamper with lots of goodies, even a bottle of prosecco to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday! We can't wait to return in the summer and have already recommended 'Tinners retreat' to family and friends.

  • I couldn’t say a single bad thing about this wonderful hut! It’s the most cosy, warm, beautiful and magical place to stay! A great little escape. Randall and his wife Annie are incredibly hospitable and kind. Couldn’t recommend more and will be coming back in the sunnier months! Thank you!

    Flora2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Although I am two meters tall, I felt comfortable in the shepherd's wagon. There is enough space for everything and we had a good time there. Randall and his wife are very nice hosts and we would stay there again anytime if we were nearby. In addition to the stove, there is underfloor heating that gives a very pleasant feeling of warmth.

    Ingo2020-01-08T00:00:00Z
  • This is a wonderful, comfortable place to relax, keep warm and enjoy the quiet countryside. The house is small but beautifully designed and has everything you need. We loved our stay. Randall and Annie are superb hosts, who were extremely helpful, generous and kind to us throughout our stay. Annie brought us fresh bread on our first morning, which was delicious. Randall picked us up and dropped us off at the train station, despite extreme delays on the train line and helped carry our (extremely heavy) luggage up a hill in the dark. What more could you ask for?

    Sarah2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • We had a beautiful stay at the Tinner's Retreat to see in the new year. Randall was extremely accommodating and lovely to meet. The accommodation was everything we needed and wanted, and was a perfect rounding up of our little Cornish adventure! Would 100% recommend.

    Sue2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Delightful stay - the hut was absolutely charming and we both enjoyed the comfort and the cosiness. The attention to detail of the interior was very impressive and the variety of treats that we discovered was just lovely - from the welcome basket of delicious goodies to the handmade toiletries in the shower room. Both Randall and Annie were welcoming, kind and thoughtful. A wonderful and memorable stay all round!

    Avril2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Such a superb place to stay, totally different and beautiful cabin. Some really thoughtful details, the mince pies were yummy, the bathroom is incredible. Randall and Annie went above and beyond during our stay and an absolute joy to speak to. Would love to stay again

The property is a bungalow in a sunny south facing elevated position with 180 degree views of Restronguet Creek and overlooking the water. The tide is in two thirds of the time, ideal for birdwatchers. The Old Tram road below forms part of the mineral railways cycle track to the north coast. Perfect family holiday retreat with beautiful views with plenty to do within a few minutes drive, and a plethora of scenic walks from the doorstep in an AONB. The waterside property is quiet and peaceful, with no main roads anywhere near.
The property lies on the Old Tram Road which was a mineral tram road which is now a cycle route between the north and south coasts. Falmouth and Truro are equidistant around 6 miles away. Wonderful walking from the property as well as nearby National Trust.
  • Mark’s house is in a fabulous location with the most amazing views. Even though we arrived in the midst of Storm Dennis it was warm, cosy and welcoming. We had a wonderful week visiting family, walking, cycling, pasty eating and relaxing. We hope to return in the not too distant future.

    Raya2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely location for lots of sightseeing on north and south coast

    Rachel2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • A very quiete neighbourhood, beautiful view, nice walks around, well equipped kitchen, very cosy, weather wasn’t good during our stay but we enjoyed walks with the dogs, well fenced garden. We really enjoyed it and highly recommended

    Fernanda2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • Used this as a base point for us to visit lots of places around Cornwall. The area is beautiful with plenty of nearby walks for us to take the dog on. Mark left a note suggesting plenty of pubs within a short distance away which was really useful, the one we used most is a 20 mins walk up the road and did great food. Not much to do in the nearby area, as it is a quiet village but plenty within a half hour drive. The bungalow itself was clean and had everything we needed, including a garden front and back for the dog to run in and even a chair she could sit on!

    Faye2019-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • A little gem on the river Fal. Gorgeous views and hidden from onlookers. Spacious living area with everything you need. Sparkly clean and comfortable. Had a super time. So peaceful watching the river, the wildlife and the boats - was great relaxation and quite addictive. Good to explore from too. Thanks Mark for letting us stay. We had a fab time.

    Jane2019-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • The bungalow is in a idyllic setting and has panoramic views of the estuary. We loved listening to the sounds of all the various species of birds. This was a perfect get away from it all.
