  • Had a great stay here, very easy to find with google maps and well organised on arrival. We were provided with everything we needed for a quiet night away! (including helpful tractor ride to the hut!) We would definitely book again - hopefully with better weather!

    Jacob2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Fabulous host Jared took us up to the hut via tractor which was an added bonus Just one with nature and the stars were perfect .... shooting stars galore .... despite the freezing chill and wind it was cosy and warm in the hut with the peat burning stove. Away from electricity and Wi-fi and a night under the stars was just what the doctor ordered. We will be back Go check it out

  • We had a great weekend here! Check-in was very easy, the location is absolutely stunning with great views and a great base to explore the area! The apartment was clean and warm and had everything we needed! Comfy bed, good facilities. We cooked in both nights and enjoyed the log burning stove! Communication was great. The hot tub was a real treat too! With stunning views! Would 100% recommend staying here and I hope we will be back!

    Jennyfer2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Warm, cosy and very comfortable cottage with log burner and central heating. Comfortable bed and cooking facilities for self catering and a dishwasher as well. Pool and hot tub are very good, waterproof shoes are recommended for when making your way back to the cottage as the ground can be a bit muddy and stony. Had a great stay here and would highly recommend.

  • Wish we'd booked a few more nights! Loved our stay here and hope to be back soon, thanks again Rosie and Dave!

    Jack2019-11-28T00:00:00Z
  • The Hayloft was much better then we ever imagined. The house is well equipped with everything we needed I the kitchen and we loved the little touches such as the bottle of fizz and flapjack on arrival. The living room space is larger and nicer then we thought with a flat screen tv and blu Ray/dvd player and lots of films to watch (the photos don’t do it justice). The best feature for us was the swimming pool and hot tub. We took our 6 month old daughter so we took it in turns to go in the hot tub but it was so relaxing at night time. The pool was small but perfect as you can change the setting to allow a current so ku can swim against it. The only thing we struggled with was driving along the uneven track to the property but we have a low car so we didn’t want to be travelling on it in the dark. Other then that we moved our little get away and did lots of sightseeing as well as visiting the near by safari park in Blair Drummond

    Rebecca2019-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean, comfy cottage in a quiet area. Thoughtful touches from host who was very quick at responding. The hot tub was fantastic to relax after a long day of walking. Would highly recommend if you are looking for a place around Loch Lomond

  • Rosie is warm friendly and helpful. The steading was clean and tidy and we had everything we needed. Nothing was to much trouble for them. Would highly recommend visiting.

The Loft is close to the amenities of Blairgowrie but very quiet and isolated on a hill top with spectacular views. It is also a midge free place with lots of swallows and house martins.
Zip and Link double/twin beds in bedroom and double sofa bed in large open plan living/dining room/ kitchen. All linen and towels provided. There is a log burning stove with a good supply of logs.
We love living on a working farm right on the edge of the Highlands, with mountains, rivers, lochs, stunning views, rich history, peace and quiet but very accessible.
  • Host very welcoming.Accommodation well equipped, very clean and cosy with a good supply of logs for the log burner.supermarket just a 5 minute drive away .lovely location .

  • Lovely, peaceful place to stay, ideal for the Cairngorms and Glenshee, or just relaxing in the comfort of the loft. Our family of 4 visited in winter and it was very cozy once the wood stove was up and running. Great facilities throughout.

  • A home away from home with all the necessary amenities. Close enough to town to get supplies but far enough away that you feel like you are getting away from it all. The wood heater was great for warmth and atmosphere. Can’t wait to stay again.

  • We stayed in Lachlan’s bothy for a weekend while skiing in Glencoe. It was a perfect location, had everything we needed and Lachlan was a great host.

    Steph2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • This loft is fantastic. Feel very refreshed after spending 2 night sout of this city in this lovely space. Well equiped for cooking, and the wood burner was lovely. Super cosy. Lachlan was very welcoming and gave us some tips on walks to take locally. Hope to stay again, would definitely reccommend.

The Bothy is a self-contained wooden cabin on the edge of our own woodland at West Cottage and Stables, nestling in the heart of Glen Lyon and at the beginning of many excellent walks and cycle rides. There's a double bed, extra bed, luxury bathroom, and wood burning stove. Most guests choose self-catering (there's a hob, fridge, and everything you need to cook with) at our base price. We can provide breakfast (£7.50 per person) and/or a dinner (£20 per person) if you'd prefer.
It's a cosy single-room cabin set up for self catering with small loft space, and a luxurious shower room and toilet. There's a wood-burning stove for heat and a small kitchen area. The floor is stone and the walls are wooden. There is a bed and a comfortable sofa bed for children or if you'd prefer a twin setup too.
We are pretty much in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by mountains. You will see red squirrels, deer, many birds, hedgehogs. A stream runs down the side of the property and if it's hot you can have a dip. Have a look at PH15 2PL on G. Earth and you'll see what we mean. From the Bothy you have the woods on one side, a view up the Glen to the east on the other. Come in Spring and enjoy the bluebells and baby birds. Or summer, for swimming in the Invervar Burn and the drone of bees. Or Autumn, for wild mushrooms and the colours of the trees all down the Glen. Or winter, for snowy walks and cosy fires and perhaps a wee dram...
  • We absolutely loved our stay at the cabin. The log fired stove kept the cabin cosy, the bed and sofa were comfortable, the location was perfect. If you want a full body workout let Milly lead you on a walk up the munro as she will have you bending and throwing sticks the whole way up! The cabin has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Take plenty of books, games, sewing etc and enjoy a more relaxed pace of life.

    Emily2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Great place and location. Would definitely recommend

    John2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely charming little cabin getaway! Exactly what my partner and I wanted. This Bothy is in a stunning location with lots of walking straight out the door. The space was cosy and comfortable, and has everything you need to cook! We didn’t even use the stove.. opting to cook on the wood stove top instead! Wished we had stayed longer!

    Annabel2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • We have just had a fantastic stay in the Bothey. The place is set with mountains either side which make for amazing views. We took a walk straight to the back of the woods on the property. From there we ended up a couple of mountains with unbelievable views down the Glen. The Bothey itself is small but very cosy. The wood burner soon gets the place very warm. I would definitely come stay again. Tim and Judy are as relaxed hosts as you can get and made us fee very welcome from the moment we arrived. So if you're looking for a remote hidden gem, this is the place.

    Sam2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • The Bothy was exactly what we expected, cosy, clean and away from all modern technology. Would recommend Tim and Judy as hosts - Brilliant, will definitely stay again.

    Gordon2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Great little bothy in an amazing location. Tim was really helpful and quick to reply when we were having issues getting there due to a storm. He had the fire going on arrival so it was lovely and warm and he also gave us some freshly baked bread. It was snowing when we were there which made it even more picturesque. It's quite isolated which was perfect for us but make sure you arrived stocked up for a few days!

    Abigail2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is a wonderful place to stay! The location is perfect, lovely and peaceful. Tim and Judy we’re fantastic hosts - even presenting us with some freshly baked bread on arrival. The cabin is fare enough from the house to feel private, and has wonderful views of the surrounding hills. Lovely and clean, and had everything we needed for our stay. Would definitely recommend staying here!

    Stacey2020-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • Possibly the most beautiful location we've ever been to. If you're into nature walks/bird watching its the place for you. Will definitely return. Perfect place to spend part of our honeymoon.

Sam’s Cottage is a beautiful, newly renovated cottage with private hot tub in the highland estate of Craggantoul, offering magical views over the meadows, ancient oak forest and Loch Tay, where we have fishing rights. The former steading is furnished luxuriously and has a modern kitchen with all the mod cons. The bathroom is equipped with a spacious walk in power shower to revive our guests after a day on the mountains! We offer books, DVDs and TVs in the living room and bedroom, plus wifi.
  • We had a fantastic couple of days at Sam's Cottage. The Cottage is extremely clean, yet very modern. All the appliances you would need and the bottle of wine on arrival was a lovely touch. Only a 30 min walk to the nearest pub (which was closed 🙈) but it was lovely to get Scottish air in our lungs. We ended the stay sat in the lovely hot tub over looking the incredible view of the loch and the hills, watching the sun go down. Even if it was raining a little the water was lovely and warm. We will most definitely be back. Thanks again!!

  • I was so excited I was almost worried I had built the cottage up too much but no, it was exactly as described. All the information provided beforehand was spot on and made everything easy. Stunning location, cottage was so cosy, lovely decor and hot tub was immense. Made for such a relaxing time away from it all. We scoped out lots of other Nina and Greg properties for a return visit!

  • Beautiful spot. Lots to do too. We went in January (a risk!) but the weather was amazing. Just check at this time of year though, because some places are closed, e.g. Falls of Dochart Inn and Crannog centre.

Stella is a 1973 Airstream. Your Hosts Niki and Nir have lovingly restored her bringing her in to the 21st century. Situated in their organic gardens, but tucked away from the main house. Located in the stunning countryside of Highland Perthshire with an abundance of outdoor pursuits on your doorstep to enjoy. Or you might just like to wind the days away relaxing in the hot-tub chilling out.
Offering all the best of Scotland, there is something for all ages and interests here whether you seek adventure, cultural stimulation, wildlife, or well-being. The nearest town Aberfeldy is Scotland's first Fairtrade town and retailers and attractions throughout the area do their best to promote Fairtrade, organic and environmentally friendly products. Just six miles west of the town, Loch Tay is the largest loch in Perthshire, framed by majestic mountains and hillside farms and cottages. As well as being the popular playground of sailors and watersports enthusiasts. Nearby to the north, Glen Lyon is often described as the longest, and loveliest glen in Scotland, and has a wonderfully mystical atmosphere.
  • Absolutely beautiful little place. Easy to find and the interior of the Airstream was even nicer and more spacious than the pictures suggest. The hot tub was warm on arrival and the outside area has a lovely vibe to it. Only a 5 minute drive to Aberfeldy where there are some nice cafes and a shop. I cannot recommend enough.

    Jordan2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Stella is a perfect getaway for anyone who wants to step away from a busier Scottish city. It has all the wee things that you’d like in an Airbnb but has a massive selling point in a hot tub with a beautiful view of Scottish hills.

    Calum2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • This is an amazing place and space to escape from the world for a few days or longer. Stella has been restored to a new found glory and is full of all the modern facilities and equipment to make the stay feel like a home from home. The bed is such a comfortable and cosy place to retreat to after a relaxing hour in the hottub. The area surrounding Stella is remote and peaceful, yet the town nearby is only a walk or drive away. The highlight for us, was whilst out walking in the woods behind Stella we encountered the wild deer that roam the countryside.

    Steven2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I had a perfect weekend in Stella, and would of happily stayed longer. We never actually met our hosts Niki and Nir but the communication before and during our stay was impeccable. Stella is a beautiful gem and we have already looking at a return trip. Storm Dennis did force us to change our plans but Stella keep us in luxurious comfort. Thank you for having us

    Sam2020-02-16T00:00:00Z

  • Can’t thank you enough for such an amazing stay. From the photos we already knew it was exactly what we were looking for for a quiet, relaxing few days away. Everything was absolutely spotless and very well presented and the hot tub was just superb. There was everything we needed and more - cosy blankets, a great little coffee machine, the kitchen cupboards and drawers were so well stocked with everything we needed as well. Excellent communication and directions and also info about local walks and amenities. Can’t thank you enough and would highly recommend for anyone looking for some peace and quiet and to get away to relax, or anyone who loves to be close to amazing scenery and walks. Thank you again! Jenny and Ryan x

  • Stella is such a special place! Just come home after celebrating my partners 30th birthday and it was magical. Fairy lights were lit on arrival and Stella was warm, clean and stylish. So much storage space which is great in a tiny home and plenty of plug sockets which normally come few and far between! The hot tub was private and the whole area was peaceful. I wished we lived closer to make this a more regular holiday! Hosts were fab and were happy to make recommendations. This place is a must stay.

  • The Tractor Shed is breath taking in person! We stayed for 3 nights in Jan and the views were amazing! Inside beat our expectations, spotlessly clean and much bigger floor plan than expected! Relaxing hot tub which we enjoyed all times of the day/night - so much privacy, very secluded! Towns/Villages to sight see or eat are within minutes! Everything we could have wanted! Thanks so much!

    Georgina2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you so so much to Nina for the amazing stay in Acharn. The property was just GORGEOUS. The Tractor Shed is the perfect place to escape to for a relaxing and peaceful trip. The property was immaculate, decorated beautifully, full of everything you would need and views to die for. The hottub was a brilliant feature too. The hosts went that extra mile, leaving a book of tips for whats nearby etc. I can't wait to return to this lovely lovely place. 5 out of 5!

If your looking for something a little different then The Bridge House might be just for you! My unusual 2 bedroom home is actually build on a bridge spanning the River Ardle in 1881. Charming original features including stone spiral stairs, traditional Scottish timber clad walls, stone/pine flooring and even a privy directly over the river below! Recently renovated. Quiet, peaceful and rural location. Pretty views from every angle. Sauna. Category A listed.
The adventure begins as you enter my front door with a winding stone spiral staircase leading upto The Bridge House. The top of the stairs opens into the conservatory dining room. From here you can access the little bedroom and kitchen/sittingroom. The little bedroom has a small double bed, great views upriver and a quirky privy from olden days! The kitchen sitting room is surrounded by traditional scottish timber clad walls and floor. It has a cosy log burning stove and pretty views downriver. The kitchen is fully fitted with everything you need. From the kitchen sittingroom you access the romantic master bedroom with kingsize 4 poster, smart TV, ornamental fireplace and fitted mini wardrobes. I hope you'll sleep as well as I do with the peaceful sound of the river below. The bathroom has a choice of shower or bath. There are stone walkways all around The Bridge House with magical views down to the river below. They connect with the veranda seating area nestled in the castellations and a small sauna in a mini stone 'outbuilding'.
. Peaceful and rural. Listen to the river below and sheep in the distance. . Great walking all around. Cateran Trail is just 5 minutes up the road. . Traditional pubs in Bridge of Cally and Kirkmichael with good food. (5 minutes by car.) . Tourist hotspots of Braemar, Pitlochry, Dunkeld and Perth all within an hours drive. . Glenshee skiing 35 minutes.
  • The bridge house is one of the most unique and beautiful places I've had the pleasure to stay in. If you want get away from day to day life, and somewhere different then this is the place to do it.

    Graeme2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • What a fantastic stay! The Bridge House is a must stay for anyone looking for unique accommodation. Great value for your money, spotlessly clean, and toasty warm. We slept so well! The perfect place to make forever memories!

    Aditi2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Utterly breathtaking. Do not hesitate, this place is a fairytale come true. The sense of overwhelming peace, tranquility and joy you will feel simply by sitting in front of the fire whilst watching the river run by will stay with you indefinitely. Amazing host(s) and superb communication. Thank you sincerely.

    Richard2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • The Bridge House is a unique property on a bridge over the river. It was a lovely place to stay for my birthday weekend. The surrounding area is beautiful and there are some great walks, especially along the Cateran Trail, which is right on the doorstep. The house is cosy, comfortable, nicely done out and has everything you could need. After getting wet and cold outside it was fab to heat up in the cute sauna and chill by the wood burning stove. Mimi was very responsive with our queries before we went and Frax (her co-host) was very welcoming and on hand if we need during our visit. Would definately recommend. Would also be great in warmer months, when the outside seating on the terrace would be a lovely spot for a glass of wine after a day outside.

    Deirdre2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing location! I would definitely recommend this property!

Unique, single-room glass-fronted hut in a silver birch/rowan wood on a small hill, full of character with a spectacular view 25 miles to the South East. Rannoch Moor is a place of peace and tranquillity, there is no noise (after the 9.05pm train) and no light pollution. Weather permitting, you can watch the stars and sunrise while lying in bed. You may also see deer walking in the wood, experience being cosy in the midst of dramatic weather or listen to the dawn chorus.
If you come and stay with us during the virus crisis you will be very welcome. We don’t need to interact at all. When you arrive please park in the station car park and then walk down the drive towards Renton Cottage which starts by the bins. The hut is up on your right after the log shed. Sadly, theTearoom is now closed of course until the restrictions ease so please bring your own food, plates and cutlery. I’ve put a small fridge and microwave in the hut for you to use. The kettle and all the other bits mentioned in our listing will be there and we will thoroughly clean the hut of course. You can certainly isolate here so we’d be very happy for you to come. The hut is small (4m x 3m) but very comfortable, warm and in an extraordinary setting. It is constructed with local larch wood and tiled with reclaimed Scottish slate. It can be set up as a double or two single beds (please let us know your preference in advance). Dogs are welcome (but not on beds), please ask if you would like us to provide a dog bed. Access to The Star Hut is by a 6- step staircase and then a short climb up a grassy slope with a rope handrail available if needed. The hut itself is accessed by 2 steps. There is rough ground around the hut and slopes on all sides so care is needed. The Star Hut does not have plumbing but lockable toilets, sinks and hot water are available a few minutes (175 metres) walk away on Rannoch Station platform (clean and well-maintained by the owners, who are also station adopters). Smoking is not allowed in the hut or in the surrounding wood, please use the station car park. Please do not use the wood as a toilet for obvious reasons! A kettle, tea/coffee, and snack are provided free of charge. Bed linen, towel, soap, a torch, compass and binoculars are provided for your use free of charge. Wi-fi is not available Please note that the tearoom and local restaurants are all closed at the moment due to the virus. Breakfast, Lunch and an early evening meal (with prior arrangement) are available in our tearoom on Rannoch Station platform from March 7th until Oct 31st. During the season theTearoom is closed on Fridays but we are happy to provide breakfast or dinner (delivered to you in the Star Hut) as long as this is arranged in advance. Please note that the cost of these is in addition to the Star Hut price. The Moor of Rannoch Restaurant with Rooms offers fine dining - advance booking essential. Bridge of Gaur Guesthouse, 5 miles away, offers excellent evening meals - advance booking essential. The 2 hotels in Kinloch Rannoch, 18 miles away offer evening meals. Please check restaurant opening dates and times, especially off season The nearest shop is 18 miles away so please come prepared
The owners run Rannoch Station Tearoom on the platform (rated 5 stars on TripAdvisor). Breakfast is available from 8.30 (a bit earlier by pre-arrangement). The tearoom closes at 4.30 and all day on Fridays but the owners will provide an evening meal from the tearoom menu until 7pm and breakfast on Fridays if ordered in advance. Please note that Tearoom food and drink is in addition to the price of The Star Hut The hut is surrounded by Rannoch Moor, with a wide variety of walks available (please ask for the owner’s walks map leaflet).
  • Booked on behalf of my friends for a birthday celebration and they thoroughly enjoyed their stay

    Pamela2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • In a beautiful, quit area, surrounded by many deers. Perfect if you like to stay/sleep/walk in the middle of nature. The hut is perfectly clean, has a very good (warm) bed and the most beautiful view. Really cosy! though it’s small, you have everything you need. Even two glasses of whiskey! Because the tearoom was closed, Bill brought us diner and breakfast at the hut. Very tastful! The toilet/washing room is a bit far away. Takes you a few minutes walking. Besides that... we had an amazing stay-over!

    Olaf & Laetitia2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • An excellent getaway with a beautiful cabin blended rightly into the nature which overlooks a meadow and a forest. Had visitors the whole time in the form of deers. Bill was a great host who was flexible to the check in timings and provided us with delicious meals. Looking forward to being there in the summer.

  • When I saw this I thought it would be perfect little get away surprise for my partner. Having just enjoyed a very scenic drive (would recommend the scenic route rather than the A9) we arrived and could see the hut perched on the hill a short walk from the car park. The hut was lovely inside and had everything one would need for a nights stay. Bill had even brought in a dog bed as we had told him our dog would be joining us. The setting is very picturesque and quiet. When we awoke in the morning we were greeted by lovely views across the snowy moorland. Our dog loved running through the snow while we had a slow start to the day. We decided to do one of the recommended walks which was also very nice: seeing some deer running across the hills. Would highly recommend for a little getaway.

    Matt2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • This is such a quaint and cozy little hut to stay in! I came towards the end of February and there was a couple of inches of snow on the ground, but it was still safe and easy to get up the stairs/slope to the entrance of the Star Hut as well as the walk to the station restroom (which was a lot shorter than I was expecting!). Although the station tearoom was not open yet, it looks absolutely delightful! As well, the Moor of Rannoch restaurant was a lot closer than expected and I had an incredible dinner there. Bill met me at the station when my train arrived (on time, ScotRail is very punctual) and was very nice and gave easy directions to the Star Hut. As stated in the description, there are maps of nearby walks and binoculars and a compass which I thoroughly appreciated. My stay was too short to do some of the longer trails, but there are plenty of lovely shorter walks that were still easy/safe to do in the snow! The pictures are extremely accurate in this listing and all of the amenities are as stated. No surprises except for the amount of deer I saw! So many deer!

    Ava2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Bill and Jenny gave us an amazing weekend with this hut. We were greeted by deer at the entrance of the hut which they offered to let us in early as our train arrived an hour before check in, and inside the hut was warm and clean and there were whisky, nibbles and beautiful views waiting for us. We would love to visit again in the spring or summer.

    Kristina2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I spent one night in this lovely hut! The room was wide considering the structure and extremely cozy! We waked up in the morning surrounded by deers and the atmosphere of the hut was amazing itself. We highly suggest to experience this unique accommodation but take in mind the absence of a shower and in-room toilet which could result annoying if coming unprepared! Thank you Bill! Hope to be able to come back soon-

    Mariavittoria2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • What a magical place, felt like we were in the middle of nowhere... because we were! Waking up to deer grazing on the snow covered hills whilst lying in bed. There was even a decanter of Whisky to warm us up on a cold stormy evening. Bills communication was great and he had lots of tips for local walks etc

Welcome to our Cabin on the Loch. Our custom built cabin on stilts over the pristine Loch Venachar. Situated in the heart of the Trossachs, not far from Glasgow, Edinburgh and Stirling. It is a totally private secret escape. This is truly a place to relax and to get away from it all. Just sit on the deck, or take a stroll along the banks of the Loch. The cabin sleeps 2 people and is totally private. A wonderful location for fishing, walking and cycling, (or just chilling).
The Cabin includes bi-fold doors that open to a spectacular view over the Loch and on to the beautiful mountains of Ben Venue, Ben Ledi of The Trossachs range. In the summer there is a daily visit from our red squirrels, and if you keep a close eye out, you'll catch sight of the Ospreys and Eagles. The variety of birds, both woodland and water, is vast and delightful.
The Cabin is in a woodland estate with walking tracks and cycle tracks for all fitness levels.

The pod itself was small (as expected) but well equipped with everything we needed. The area is lovely and very picturesque - great for a wee getaway.

Not only do you feel protected, comforted and grounded in this ‘contemporary cave’ it is beautifully designed and very tastefully equipped with everything you will need. Book an extra day and just enjoy the stillness and positive energy of the place...doing nothing apart from staring through one of the huge portholes, listening to the gurgling stream below and savouring the magic of the experience. We shall most certainly return.

Situated on a working farm in an elevated position above the Vale of Strathmore, Ardormie Farm Cottage is an ideal base to relax and explore this wonderful area of Scotland. The cottage is light and airy with open views over the countryside.
A cottage in the countryside with wide open views. Ardormie Farm Cottage is cosy in the winter and has a great little patio for sitting outside in the summer. Everything you need is right here; a double bedroom, bathroom with bath and shower overhead, cosy sitting/dining room and a little kitchen fully equipped with cooker, fridge, microwave and all you need to make your stay just perfect. We have just installed a new biomass boiler so the heating is provided from an entirely renewable energy source. Radiators have been fitted throughout and there is a thermostatic temperature control so you can set the temperature to suit. There is a washer/drier and outside in the steading the wood pellet boiler is heating a drying room which you are welcome to use for any wet outdoor gear. The cottage is on a working farm. There are sheep, cattle and working sheep dogs.. The surrounding countryside is what you would expect of rural Perthshire - mountains, lochs, stunning views, rich history, peace and quiet. This is a great place to be based as there is much to explore. The place is yours to enjoy. I live next door and I'm really happy to help with any questions you may have, there is also lots of local information available in the cottage. Although, sometimes I'm not at home, maybe I'm off staying in an Airbnb somewhere else!
We are fortunate enough to live in a beautiful little corner of North East Perthshire. This is very much a rural community with farms, friendly neighbours and a sense of openness. There are often local events in nearby Kilry Village Hall from the annual fete to the regular pop up T-Junction cafe. The Isla Parishes Church is just up the road and visitors are always made to feel welcome at the weekly service at 10am on Sundays.

  • Our group had a lovely relaxing stay at Michelle and Michael's and would definitely not hesitate to return. The accommodation had everything we needed to celebrate Hogmanay and New Years day and a very thoughtful hamper was left to help us with the celebrations. A great place to spend a bit of time away from the busy city. Not able to comment on the local area as we didn't venture out of the accommodation other than to have a walk around the grounds.

Buzzard is a unique 2 bedroomed barn conversion which retains the original stone walls. Views from the estate are amongst the best in the National Park. We've chosen lush soft furnishings, Scottish accessories and natural colours to compliment your Trossachs experience. An ideal cottage for friends or family to socialise after a day of exploring or hiking in the National Park. The wood burning stove and wood fired hot tub provide the perfect evening ambience.
Buzzard is located on a working hill side farm which offers magnificent views of the Lake of Menteith and the surrounding hillside. The great outdoors can be enjoyed directly from your doorstep from which you can hike into the Menteith hills. Or you can relax in the garden in the summer, enjoying the magnificent views, watching the Highland Cows, playing badminton or having a BBQ. Whatever the weather or season there is always lots to do at Nether Glenny Farm: book the 'off road' farm tour in the Kawasaki mule, relax in the hot tub under a star lit sky or simply relax by the roaring fire in the cottage. Only a few mins drive from the cottage is an award winning restaurant which offers lakeside dining and to compliment that there is a great local taxi service which nips up and down our hill regularly. Alternatively, you might decide to choose something from our delicious ' dine in ' menu: choices range from tasty pizza and salad to our incredibly popular Venison Casserole which could not be any more locally sourced as our venison is literally from our very own hillside. The tourist towns of Aberfoyle and Callander are a few miles away and offer a good selection of restaurants, shops, art galleries, whisky specialist suppliers and excellent visitors centres. There is also quality bike hire, water sports, Go Ape, mountains, lochs and glens all within a few miles. Buzzard is open plan with comfortable lounge and dining area. The underfloor heating and log burner make it very cosy indeed. Upstairs there is a chalet feel to the bedrooms and the rooms are spacious, with one bedroom having a shower room and the other a full bath and walk in shower. If you require more or less space then please ask as we have two other cottages on site. There is an abundance of wildlife to be enjoyed; Buzzards, owls, red deer, Osprey in Summer, not to mention the Highland cows, peacocks, sheep and the Nether Glenny cats, Harris and Tweed, who are a firm favourites amongst our guests. Please note that there is a supplement for the use of the hot tub as it is an optional extra due to the fact that we clean, fill and heat your tub per use and details can be found in the ' other things to not section'.
The cottages are set amidst an 84 hillside estate nestled in the Menteith Hills. You will have stunning views of the hills and Lake of Mentieth from all walks on the estate. Although you have lovely views from the velux bedroom windows and from the downstairs windows, the best of these can be enjoyed from walks on the estate.
  • Hosts were lovely, cottage felt very quiet and secluded whilst also giving great access to the lochs and amenities. Personal highlight was running in to a highland cow!! Would love to stay again - thank you so much for having us!

    Eve2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time staying at Buzzard Cottage. There were 4 of us in total (5 if you include our 4 legged friend) and felt very comfortable and well catered for. The rooms are lovely and the finishing touches show just how much care and attention has been paid to the decoration and styling of the rooms. Kitchen is fully kitted out and the wood burning fire was a joy (although we did have to get a bit of help in getting it going). Great location with stunning views and lots of friendly cows and sheep who appeared to enjoy keeping an eye on us. Loved our stay and will definitely be coming back!

    Sophie2020-03-01T00:00:00Z

This beautifully appointed, spacious cottage is light and airy yet delightfully snug in winter. Explore the lovely surrounding Perthshire countryside or simply relax and enjoy the space. Lose yourself in the gorgeous scenery, hills, lochs and so much more...and hire our new electric bikes for fun local day trips or enjoy skiing at Glenshee in the winter, only 45mins away. Shorter stays of 3/4 nights are available. Sorry no children or dogs.
This is a great place to relax in for your holiday - the cottage is in a lovely rural location in the counrtyside yet you are 5 minutes from the small town of Blairgowrie and on the edge of the beautiful Scottish Highlands. The cottage has everything you could wish for and is well appointed and extremely comfortable. There is a double bedroom up a small flight of stairs. A large double height kitchen & living space means you have plenty of space to spread out and relax and a generous shower room with underfloor heating and rain shower completes your comfort. Please note there is no bathtub. Please note that we are in a very rural location, 300m down a bumpy farm track. Take extra care for the bottom of your car and drive slow....and do not expect the high life! The cottage does have the feel of a romantic get away though and we have had engagements and honeymooners as testament to this. We now also have two electric assist bicycles available to hire. The electric battery helps you power up the hills which is a joy. There are lots of places for amazing day trips and we provide helmets, instructions and insurance at a cost per day of £40 for two bikes.
This area of Perthshire is stunningly pretty. We are nestled in the foothills of the Highlands and just up from the cottage there are great views south towards the Dundee hills and beyond. We are well placed for some lovely day trips - Edinburgh, Glasgow and St Andrews are all between 1-1 1/2hrs from us, accessible by car and train. There are lots of outdoor pursuits on the doorstep from walking to kayaking, fishing, golf (we are 40mins from world famous Gleneagles Hotel and 5 minutes from Rosemount in Blairgowrie) and cycling to name a few. Blairgowrie is 5 minutes away and is an old market town with all local amenities including a large Tescos for groceries but also 2 good butchers, a fishmonger and several restaurants.
  • We stood for 4 nights in the amazing comfy Rose cottage to relax and use it as starting point for hikings and day Trips. We really want to come back!

  • Rose Cottage was our perfect idea of a 'getaway' for Christmas. Located in an ideal location where you are both out in the country but also near a town if you may need anything. With fantastic scenic walks in the local area we didn't need to travel far, and the gas fire and cosy sofa were fantastic to come back to. Claire was a great host adding little touches for when we arrived and giving us all the info we may need prior to our arrival. We will definitely be returning in the future!

    Matthew2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • The place is perfect for a peaceful and comfortable getaway. We spent 4 nights in this wonderful cottage and greeted with a warm host, with amenities that exceeded our expectation. It even has a washing machine and diswasher. The gas-heated fireplace was an additional bous, perfect for this cold weather.

    Rhea2019-11-15T00:00:00Z
  • Rose cottage is a beautiful cottage in gorgeous surroundings and our host Claire, couldn’t have been more helpful. The cottage is fully equipped with everything you’ll need. It heats up very quickly with the heaters and the cosy fire, so great when you’ve been out fishing/walking all day. We were delighted to hear owls at night and see red squirrels playing in the trees. All in all, a wonderful cottage with a very helpful host. Will definitely stay again.

    Julia2019-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a great time at Rose Cottage. Claire and Alex were such thoughtful hosts and made us feel very welcome and at home. We don't have a car and did almost everything by foot (with a few trips done via local taxi). This worked perfectly and the walk into Blairgowrie is easy enough and very scenic (45 mins). The immediate surroundings are really beautiful and we didn't feel like we were missing out on anything by staying in the nearby area. Would highly recommend the cottage even if you don't have a car. The cottage itself is super cosy and warm, perfect for days in. Overall a great stay and incredibly relaxing, couldn't recommend it enough!

    David2019-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • Fairy Tale Cottage Exceeds Our Expectations - the photos don’t do this cottage justice. An absolutely beautiful yet cozy cottage surrounded by stunning landscape. A short drive from numerous attractions yet secluded enough that you feel like you’ve really gotten away from it all. Claire was a thoughtful and considerate host, checking in, yet giving us plenty of privacy. Any questions we had, before our stay and during, were promptly addressed. So much thought was put into making this a wonderful holiday stay. A large wall map of the local area plus 2 drawers full of maps and brochures made it easy to plan each day’s outing. We loved the decor and all of the modern conveniences. Heated floors, a cozy gas fireplace and deep sofa to sink into almost made leaving the cottage for sightseeing a chore. :-) And the cottage is so aptly named; we could see roses from every window! We hope to one day return to Scotland and Rose Cottage is a must stay for us!

    Adele2019-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • Rose Cottage is a cosy, homely cottage where you can really enjoy your stay in Perthshire. It’s quietly situated for a relaxing away from it all stay but well also well placed to explore the surrounding area. Highly recommended.

  • Let me start by saying the photographs do not capture the beauty of this place. It’s absolutely breathtaking (we didn’t cry). You will be able to see the beautiful lake and the mountains right from your bedroom or the living room. (The birds are also spectacular...) The chalet is very private and we had our own sauna & hot tub. The place was immaculate inside and out. The hosts Victoria and Chris are two to the nicest people we have ever met. They helped us out with directions & places of interest and will answer any questions very quickly. We will definitely be back! Choose to stay here... you will NOT be disappointed.

  • This place is AMAZING! The views are incredible and the neighbourhood ducks came to visit us. We stayed the weekend of our wedding and it was a tranquil escape from all the wedding chaos! Would definitely recommend and would love to come stay again.

  • The Cottage was absolutely perfect, we stayed over Christmas and enjoyed being cosy by the fire, cooking our Christmas dinner and going for great walks that we could get to by just walking out of the front door. Was such a relaxing few days for us. We would definitely stay again!

  • My husband and I stayed here for a week and what a wonderful week we had. We highly recommend staying here. Suki was super from the word go with communication. Any questions we had were answered promptly. This is truly a place we would love to return to. You can either get out and be active, or relax, wind down, and study like I had to do, within a perfect setting. The bed was comfortable and the area SO QUIET for a tranquil sleep. We thoroughly enjoyed the daily use of the fireplace and hot tub, and the walks around the area. Thank you for the lovely welcoming touches upon arrival, and the great tips we received during our stay. It was also great to meet Suki's partner while he was walking the dogs. Love Suzy!! And thank you for being so helpful, beyond what is expected from a host. My husband and I are grateful and would LOVE to return. It's a week we truly needed and will remember :-)

  • Great place for a family weekend.

    Emma2019-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great week at the cottage, very clean place, relaxing and quiet! Games room is great with plenty to do, Tennis court is also a great extra (even though we weren't very good at it). Our hosts were perfect and even went out of their way to get us some charcoal for the BBQ as we didn't have any. Would definitely recommend and we will be back! Thanks again.

    Owen2019-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • We loved it! The place is beautiful and such a relaxing atmosphere. There was plenty to do with the walks and games room and gym if you chose to use it. Our puppy loved it although didn't want to leave the sheep alone! The information pack provided was very useful. We couldn't recommend the place highly enough!

    Joanne2019-06-08T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is in a very beautiful location, surrounded by peaceful farmland but not too far from Dundee and Perth. The cottage itself was very clean and comfortable and the hot tub was a great addition.

    Rachel2019-03-31T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely little cottage, great location and amazing views. Lots to do and see and can't forget the hot tub and sauna.

    Jack2019-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Suki's place is perfectly located between Dundee and Perth. It's far enough away from the road to be quiet and peaceful throughout the day and night. The wood fire and the wood burning hot tub are fantastic although at -7° we needed a bit of assistance to get the water to warm up! Suki was available to help however and lit the tub while we were out being tourists in Edinburgh. Eric is a nice addition and is great to watch running around his pen. When booking, check the temperature in Scotland, the colder the better as the hot tub is rather special on a freezing cold night under the stars! We would definitely recommend!

  • Adorable spot, beautiful location exactly as described. Wendy was a great host, very helpful and friendly. Only downside is that it was a bit difficult to find and with the cold weather I would have preferred an attached bathroom! But it was very charming!

    Amy2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • A brilliant place to get away from it all. Snug on a cold evening listening to wind & rain. I cant wait to come back, it will be just as good sitting out on a summer evening. Highly recommended.

    Fife2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is as beautiful as it looks, better even. We expected the WC to be a bit basic, but it’s so lovely too, and has a shower!! Wendy is great at giving all the info you need, very welcoming on arrival, then left us in peace from then on. In the cabin, everything has been thought about, despite the limited space. And it’s so cosy, but doesn’t feel cramped. It’s modern and rustic at the same time, and set in beautiful surroundings (yes, we saw some deer 🦌 in the morning), with the river at the bottom of the field. It’s also great value for money. I can’t recommend this place enough.

    Brian2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Wendy's place is just magical- a cosy retreat right next door to nature. Every piece of furniture is well thought out and little touches have been left to make the trip extra special. Wendy is a wonderful host and I would certainly love to come back in the Summer to see the surroundings and enjoy sitting out on the deck. Book it!!

    Katherine2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely little retreat, great to take a break from the city for a night. We were there during a storm so couldn’t do anything outdoors but it was a very cosy place to relax and be warm. Wendy was amazing, she made us feel super welcome and we definitely want to go back when the weather’s a bit nicer to take advantage of the scenery around the place.

    Chiara2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Our two nights at Wendy's place was a perfect getaway from the daily grind. We used the cabin as a base to explore the area and into Fife. Wendy was the perfect host and very helpful and friendly. Don't think about it...just book it, you will not be disappointed :-)

    Harry2020-01-28T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay here, the pictures don’t do it justice! Set in the aesthetically beautiful hills of Glenfarg, the cabin is idyllic. It has all amenities you could require and a surprisingly modern toilet / shower hut. If you’re looking for a getaway, look no further than this! Wendy was a lovely host, knowledgeable and close by if we needed help while it still feeling like we had our own space. We are looking forward to our next stay here!

    Kelly2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Had a wonderful stay here, Wendy was very welcoming and hospitality was impeccable. The cabin had lots of lovely cosy touches which made us feel right at home for the night. Would love to return in the summertime when it’s not so rainy and windy (although that didn’t stop us from having a great nights sleep!)

  • Thank you for going out of your way to make way for us ( literally) . Our 10 year old car made it to the top. The place was amazing. Unlimited view of beautiful grounds and mountains covered with snow, unlimited view of the sky filled with stars and awe inspiring moonrise. You could have cancelled our reservation as it will too much of a hassle to prepare the place because of the snow. Thank you very much.

    Bethany2020-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • We had a relaxing night away from the noise of life in this lovely accommodation. It really is off the grid with little to no signal which was exactly what we were after! The storm added to the get away, hearing the rain on the roof and watching it cross the valley in the morning was so beautiful. The cabin itself is really cosy and has everything you need. Only an hour or so from home, we definitely will be back to escape again soon! We had a nosey at the new hut with the bunk bed room too which is perfect if you want to take the kids!

    Jodie2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Sarah’s shepherds hut is just brilliant. So calm and quiet with the best views! Absolutely everything we needed for our country get away, the place is spotless and very chic. Would absolutely recommend a visit and we will be back!

    Gillian2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely wonderful. We stayed 17th to the 19th January so it was rather cold but that’s what we wanted. The log burner is the perfect touch, not only romantic but quickly warms the hut and just makes the experience lovely. The views are wonderful, beautiful sun rises and full view of the night sky, what more could you possibly ask for. The place was absolutely spotless! I was worried about showering due it being cold but the shower facilities are perfect! Warm bathroom with full power shower rather than just an electric one. I honestly can’t rave about this place enough. It’s gorgeous and the perfect escape from the city. We will definitely be returning again, spring, summer and winter.

  • Such an amazing week at Oyster. I couldn’t recommend this house more to anyone wanting to relax and explore Loch Tay. We spent 4 nights here and enjoyed the evening sun coming in the floor to ceiling windows and dinner on the balcony. The hot tub added something very special and in such a beautiful location. The pictures don’t do this house justice. The house is in a very secluded location and has amazing views over the loch with the sun setting just over the hill in front of the property. Thanks again, we will definitely be visiting again.

  • We had a wonderful and relaxing weekend at The Dairy. The location is fantastic, although the terrible weather Storm Dennis brought meant we didn't really get to explore. It was the perfect place to hide away from the storm and we did get to use the hot tub a couple of times, which was lovely. The space is larger and even better than the photos give credit for. A bottle of fizz on arrival was a lovely touch. Thanks to the hosts for a wonderful break. Jennifer and Jono

The information book provided at the cottage is detailed and has lots of suggestions for local walks, some of which we did. We drove to a few villages nearby too which were lovely to visit. It was a perfect break away from the city and I would absolutely recommend staying at The Dairy. Thanks Nina!

Traditional Scottish country cottage situated near the beautiful Highland Perthshire village of Strathtay. The cottage sits in an elevated, secluded spot above the River Tay, just off National Cycle Route 7. We have three spacious bedrooms, two with king-size beds and one with two single beds. Our games room has a table tennis table and a selection of games. In our spacious garden you'll find a lovely outdoor dining area and a wood-fired hot tub! We love it there and hope you will too.
The cottage is nestled in a secluded, wooded area near the glorious River Tay. We're so pleased to be able to share it with you. OUTSIDE you'll find plenty of space to park three cars and a garage where you can store your bicycles. There's a large garden with plenty of room for sunbathing (though please remember it's Scotland!). The landscaped outdoor dining area is the perfect place to dine al fresco, and once you've had dinner and done the dishes, what could be more relaxing than our wonderful wood-fired hot tub? The hot tub is totally guest-controlled - but don't worry, you'll be given all the instructions you require. In spring/summer/autumn it will be pre-filled for you to fire up and enjoy at your leisure. In winter (November to March), you'll have to fill it before you fire up, but it'll be worth the wait as you lie back and gaze up into those clear and cold winter skies! INSIDE the cottage, you're greeted by a large porch with a bench that's just perfect for taking off your hiking boots after a day in the hills. You then come in to the tastefully decorated dining room, with a huge dining table which seats up to ten people. The kitchen is well-stocked, with a double oven and grill, induction hob, large fridge-freezer, dishwasher, Nespresso coffee machine, toaster, kettle, digital radio and all the pots, pans, cutlery, crockery and utensils you should need. From the kitchen there's access to the back garden and also a small WC. Coming through to the main part of the house, an airy hall leads to a downstairs bedroom and living room on the ground floor. The living room is cosy and is kitted out with two large sofas. The TV is internet-ready (Netflix available for guest use) and has a (limited) selection of Freeview channels. The centrepiece is a wood-burning stove (logs provided), perfect for quiet nights in watching a film or playing games. The downstairs bedroom (blue) has a king-size bed, beautiful antique wardrobe and a handy dressing table with mirror. Upstairs, you'll find the bathroom, a shower room, two bedrooms and the games room. The bathroom has a shower, bath and toilet. The shower has great pressure and will hopefully invigorate you for the day ahead. There's also a further separate shower room with an excellent electric shower. The games room has a table tennis table, perfect for a family tournament! There's also a selection of board games here to enjoy, including family favourites such as Trivial Pursuit, Linkee and Pictionary. When not playing table tennis, you can relax on the sofa and watch some TV - use the Google Home App to connect to the TV and watch content. There's also a Nintendo Switch with Zelda and Super Mario games. The second bedroom (cream) has another king-size bed, a cupboard for your clothes and a beautiful vintage dressing table and wall mirror. You'll also find a cot here, and a full length mirror to check you're looking your best! The last bedroom (purple) has two single beds, a cute vintage chest of drawers and another full-length mirror with hanging rail.
The cottage is situated on the northern side of the River Tay, on National Cycle Route 7. Distances to nearby places and attractions are as follows: * 2km to the picturesque village of Strathtay, which has a village store and post office * 2.4km to beautiful Grandtully, where you'll find the excellent Inn on the Tay, The Grandtully Hotel, the Highland Chocolatier and Coffee Shop and Grandtully rapids * 7.4km to the lovely town of Aberfeldy, where you'll find the fantastic Birks Cinema, a Co-op Supermarket and many restaurants, pubs and bars * 17.5km to the historic resort town of Pitlochry, with its mainline railway station, quaint shops, restaurants and bars The local area is perfect for a multitude of outdoor activities, such as hillwalking (there are a number of munros within easy driving distance, including big-hitters Schiehallion and Ben Lawers), canoeing/kayaking on the River Tay and cycling on National Cycle Route 7 and other beautiful minor roads in the area.
  • We could not have asked for a better, more interesting, comfortable and stylish place to stay. Richard was so helpful right from the off and we just loved the setting and the area. The house had everything we needed and more. I can’t imagine anyone being disappointed staying there.

  • Beautifully decorated rooms, lovely little touches and treats, high quality furniture. luxurious and tasteful.

    Jill2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Peaceful, relaxing and tranquil. We absolutely loved our stay and Richard was a great host. The hot tub was the perfect addition to the cold frosty February nights. The house and garden were also perfect for our two boisterous dogs who loved to play and chase the hares and pheasants then curl up in front of the wood burning stove. Perfect. Exactly what we needed.

  • Laigh of Cloichfoddich was one of our favourite holiday cottages so far. Richard has thought of everything. It’s something of a cliché to say somewhere is a ‘home away from home’ but the cottage was definitely that. We felt so relaxed and comfortable in the cottage. Chilling out ont he hot tub whilst it snowed was amazing. We will definitely be back and will bring another couple with us next time. Thanks again, Laura and Cameron

  • We liked the place, the room we had is a bit small and if you have a big luggage is difficult to find a place for it. Nice area to visit nearby

  • We had a wonderful stay, a beautiful 1700s building with a modern and stylish interior. Wine by a roaring fire in the evening and a great home cooked but restaurant standard breakfast to start the day. Would highly recommend.

  • Melanie has created a beautiful space in a historic building in an incredible area of Scotland. She is also a great cook and has great tips for exploring the local area! We look forward to our next stay!

  • Fantastic place, really beautiful village and surroundings. We just stayed for one night which was fab, the space is so stylish and cozy, had a open fire on the log burner and tea and biscuits on arrival. The breakfast was amazing, the whiskey porridge was really worth going for and Melanie was a great host, so warm welcoming, fun and interesting! Would definitely return.

  • We had a lovely stay with Melanie. She welcomed us in, we had tea by the roaring fire - it was such a nice arrival. The whole space was just gorgeous, and the room was comfortable and clean and just so stylish. I loved the little touches that just made it feel so luxurious. January is a quiet time in Lochearnhead I think, but Melanie recommended having dinner at Mhor 84 down the road, and indeed it was a great meal with good vegan options. Breakfast was outstanding - and I'd highly recommend Melanie's yoga class as well! We left feeling relaxed and restored. Overall we felt like we'd been on a luxury retreat and I'd love to come again.

  • Melanie's place was really cosy and we had a warm welcoming with tea and biscuits. Very sweet place walking distance from the water front. The breakfast was so delicious and it was great chatting with Melanie. Unforgettable wee trip :)

  • Really enjoyed our stay with Melanie, she provided great tips for eating and hiking in the park. Breakfast was amazing, and Melanie is a hoot to talk to. She even made me the best ginger lemon tea when I was not feeling well. She also offered to help us with our laundry while we were out hiking for the day, which was a big help while traveling.

Bespoke, one off handmade cabin in a natural cottage garden. Set against a rock face covered in ivy & seasonal climbing plants. A quirky European vibe with rich warm colours - a relaxed & homely atmosphere. Inspired by our travels over the years.
The cabin comfortably sleeps 2, with the option of a third on our chaise sofa. We have a wood burning stove and electric timed heating. Includes a fridge, microwave, toaster & kettle in kitchen area. There is also a 2ring electric worktop cooker facility. (Additional outside gas BBQ with rings - which is the fun option for the warmer weather). Bathroom includes electric shower, toilet & sink. TV, DVD player, CD player with docking station. Veranda & use of garden for picnic, sunbathing - whatever you please. Off street parking available & we have a drive you can use also. Tea, coffee, milk & sugar freely available. Please note, as the cabin is predominantly for 2 persons, the third guest if an adult is £20 extra per stay. Kids under 12 are free. Thanks
It has a country feel to it, even although situated in a city. The area of craigie is old and has many woodland walks. St Madelines hill is a favourite of ours, as is Craigie Hill & Buckie Braes. Perth is known as the Fair City & has the beautiful river Tay running through its heart. It is the most central city in Scotland, the gateway to the highlands. This makes it a perfect base for exploring. The famous Scone Palace is just 20 minutes drive, and during July it hosts a 2 day Rewind festival. Perth is only 40minutes from the stunning Fife coast, and Golf & University hub of St Andrews. There are so many beautiful seaside towns to explore over that way, don't miss out on enjoying eating our famous fish & chips by the seashore. Perth is 1hour from cultural hub Glasgow. This is the largest city with so much on offer, including the ultimate shopping experience. Edinburgh, our most beloved capital city is just 40mins away ... This boasts the Edinburgh Fringe all of August- not to be missed!! In May, Perth hosts the Festival of Arts. Every July Perthshire hosts Scotland's largest musical festival T in the Park. In August there is the Southern Fried food & music festival. Every first Saturday of the month is the farmers market where you can enjoy local cuisine and live music. We have two beautiful green spaces called the south and north inch. Many lovely cafes and restaurants and an abundance of charity shops! Enjoy :)
  • What a lovely place to stay. Alyxs left some delicious treats for us to enjoy, the cabin was so cosy and the bed was really comfy. I really recommend this Airbnb if you are looking for something slightly different but still within walking distance to Perth.

  • Definitely a home away from home. Very close to buses for 20 minute ride into city center and main attractions. Very clean, cozy and Alex is very responsive. Would highly recommend her flat to anyone traveling to Edinburgh.

  • This is a lovely, quiet and comfortable place to stay. Check in was easy. The garden is amazing. There was lots of information about things to do. Walking into the city was very easy - took about 20 minutes. Alexis and her mum were great hosts. Would highly recommend .

Come and stay at this well restored hippy wooden hut right next to the waterside and surrounded by mossy rocks and sheep. The hut sleeps up to three people and has a bathroom with a toilet, shower and sink. It offers a fully equipped kitchen and a wood burning stove.
This wooden cabin is ideal for people who search for a little getaway in natural surroundings near the loch. The hut is located in a beautiful mossy area and the little brook runs right next to your cabin which makes the surroundings even more magic. Your can watch the sheep outside the window while warming up on the fire. The hut has a fully equipped kitchen with a gas stove, oven, fridge, electric kettle and basic equipment like pans/saucepans, a variety of plates, glasses, cutlery and cutting boards. A big table offers space to sit and eat. The living room/sleeping area offers plenty of opportunities to sit next to the fire. Ideal for reading while it is raining. In the living/sleeping area you will find one double bed for two people and one single bed. The bathroom has all basic facilities, i.e. a shower and sink with hot water and a toilet. We also offer you a radiator heater for warming the cabin. The gas is free. The electricity works on a £1 coin meter. 1£ lasts for approximately 24hrs. You can collect some wood in a bag at the farm for £5 per sack or bring/collect your own. As the hut is located on a farm and is made from wood, it is likely that there are mice. But as long as you store your food in boxes where the mice cannot reach it (especially at night!), it is no problem. The 4-mile-track to the cabin is quite bumpy but if you drive carefully, it is accessible with a small car, i.e. that is you do not need a 4x4. Unfortunately, this cabin is not suitable for disabled/elderly people as it is quite difficult to access with a wheelchair or crutches.
The surrounding area is full of wild life including deer, foxes, otters, pine martens and many varieties of birds. Walking is possible along the loch side and up the surrounding hills including Munros Ben Mor and Stabinion and adjacent (easier) Corbetts. Fishing and boating on the two lochs is also an option. We are happy to provide you with fishing permits but please contact us in advance about that. National Cycle Routes also pass nearby.
  • What an amazing place to stay!!! The cabin had such great character and you couldn't ask for a better location. It was a little cold with it being February so make sure to bring fleeces etc but there is a wood burner to use to keep warm. Overall a fantastic experience. Wood is available at the farm but would also recommend bringing firelighters and newspaper to aid the log burner.

  • If you’re looking for a quiet get away, in a beautiful wooden cabin, surrounded by glorious lochs and the soft sound of a babbling brook then YOU’VE FOUND IT. Book now. It has both the feeling of solitude and isolation, with the reassurance of there being people at the farm and hostel...should there be any need for human interaction and company. The perfect balance in my opinion. I barely spoke to anyone for more than a few minutes, but felt comforted that I could go up to the hostel if I needed anything. Things to note: Spiders, there are plenty. Obviously, it’s a wooden cabin. I however didn’t see or hear any mice. The cabin is cleaned at check-out by the previous guest (I presume Les or someone also checks it pre-check in when beds are re-made) but generally speaking I guess that means it’ll be as clean as the person before you deems it should be. If you’re going in the winter months, pack thermals. Most of my time inside the cabin I had on thermals under my warmest jumpers, a hat, a shawl, woollen socks and slippers. That was whilst also having the wood burner going and the electric heater. It does warm up eventually but then cools down again within an hour or two if the fire dies down.

  • Beautiful area ! And so peaceful, we were lucky to stay there

    Olive2020-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • This is a perfect cozy hide away for recharging and enjoying the stunning surroundings. You have to be prepaired for remote and Maybe check ahead if the ferry really is available. But also just by foot you can explore a lot.

    Viola2019-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • It’s a perfect retreat from the hustle and bustle of modern life. Lots of light during the day, low lighting in the evening. No TV! It’s rustic, it’s quirky and exactly what we wanted after a busy Christmas period! What’s not to love about laying out in front of a log burning stove with a glass of wine, a good book in total peace. It’s not sparkling clean but you’re in a hut, next to a loch a short walk into a field! We woke up to a cute little sheep looking In through the window. Happy Days! If you arrive at night you need a head torch/ torch. Enjoy!
