“Go apple picking in the fall at this wonderful farm and orchard. Get some ice-cream with maple syrup on it, or ride in a draft horse wagon out to the orchards, pick apples and raspberries, and catch the wagon back.”

“ I would recommend checking out that area if you want to do if bit of exploring, hike or want quiet place to write. Amazing views if you go to the top (about a mile) from trailhead parking lot at Plainfield (k-8) School. There is also a trail head if you drive a couple miles down Colby Hill Road. There are several miles of trails and a map showing the area from the parking lot that I mentioned above. Miles and miles of groomed ski trails. If you follow "So Inclined" trail, you'll eventually find some interesting ruins (and an abandoned old car) in the forest of long-gone Meriden residents. I am a distance runner so frequently explore the area. It may be a little windy at the top. ”

“Plainfield has a wonderful trail network that leaves from the Elementary School. The trails range from easy, flat strolls to more strenuous uphill hikes. You can hike up to French's Ledges to see spectacular vistas of Plainfield, Cornish and Lebanon. This is one of my favorite places for running, walking with the pup or skiing in the winter (trails are well groomed in the winter...provided there is enough snow),”
