  • Everything was great! The house was so clean and had a lovely relaxing feeling. The space was light and airy and very nicely decorated. Anne was so welcoming and has such a nice garden.

  • Anne was a great host and we absolutely loved staying in her beautiful and immaculate carriage house. She has also transformed the adjacent property into a beautiful meadow garden that's worth taking a stroll through. Anne's place is very close to both Kennet Square and Longwood Gardens. And she is very knowledgable about the area and what to see and do. This was our first visit to Kennet Square. If we have the opportunity, we would definitely return and stay here again.

  • I very much enjoyed my stay at Anne's carriage house. Upon arrival, I happened to bump in Anne as she was leaving. She offered a cordial greeting and oriented me well. The carriage house itself is precisely as described and depicted: clean, spacious, comfortable, quiet and private. The kitchen and amenities were clean and of very good quality, as was the bathroom. Furnishings were comfortable, and the bed made for a good night's sleep. Having a washer/dryer en suite was very convenient. The location is perfect for anything around West Chester-Chadds Ford, and the views are lovely. Internet was speedy and the cable package was just fine. A great stay!

  • We had a fantastic weekend at the Carriage House. Anne was there to meet us when we arrived. The space is even more beautiful than it appears in the photos on the website. It is clearly very well designed and everything considered. As I anticipated, we loved sitting on the couch looking out into Anne's amazing garden through the enormous floor to ceiling windows. Have a full kitchen was also really useful. It was a great location for our plans which were to go to Winterthur Longwood Gardens, and the Brandywine River Museum. It was very easy to all places and we love the restaurants and the ice cream shop in Kennett Square. Everything about our stay was perfect and Anne was a wonderful host.

    Meredith2015-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • The Carriage House was just as described - beautiful, quiet and surrounded by lush floral life. We did not get to spend as much time on the property as we wanted as we were in town for a rehearsal dinner and wedding, but I was able to take advantage of the kitchen for both a late night snack and breakfast both mornings. It is stocked with all the equipment you could need - including pots/pans, coffee maker and toaster. I also met Anne, who was super friendly, as well as Molly, Teddy and Emu :) Would love to revisit the Carriage House if we are back if in the area!

  • Another glowing review for this lovely place and our hosts! Fresh flowers sitting on the coffee table from her wildflower garden in her handmade pottery. Huge window overlooking gorgeous wildflower garden. Furnishings and decor were a thoughtful blend of old and new in a light-filled space. Great appliances, lovely rugs, wonderful bed, original old wood floors, original paintings. Small shelf of compelling recent fiction and local nature driven non-fiction. Easy-check in/out. Quick access to restaurants and attractions. Our hosts were warm and knowledgable, a delight to listen and converse with. We are eager to return to the area if not only to stay here and for the good company! The highlight of our trip!

  • Anne is a very lovely host, who did everything to ensure that we had a pleasurable stay in Kenneth Square. She gave us plenty of tips for things to do in the area, varying from walks to restaurants. The apartment itself is wonderful and everything was very clean. The kitchen is fully equipped and the TV even has Netflix. The bedroom and the bathroom were both spacious and comfortable. Highly recommended for a comfortable stay.

    Melissa2016-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • Anne's carriage house apartment was ideal for us. It is in a great location for seeing the top attractions and the accommodations were very comfortable with all the necessary amenities. Anne was very welcoming and helpful. We enjoyed looking out through the large windows to see her beautiful gardens. The windows gave us a sense of being in a much larger space. It was fabulous and we'd love to return.

  • Quiet, Safe Location. Wonderful surroundings. Spacious and comfortable beds. Clean and spacious Bathroom. Fast responses. Easy Check-in and Check-out. Feels like your own House. Overall very pleasant stay. Would definitley Book again when in the area.

  • Stay here!! Amazing, rich neighborhood. 8 minutes from town and you have the place to yourself. The bedroom was clean and very comfortable. Wifi, tv, dishes all amenities included. You have your own apartment.

    Lara2017-04-10T00:00:00Z
  • In a nice and quite neighborhood. The only bad thing is that it is far from stores.

    Sharon2017-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • Private, lovely apartment at the back of the main house. There's no blinds in the bedroom so if you have too much fun at a wedding, like we did...its hard to sleep in. But those beds! So comfortable and loads of pillows and the blankets are cozy. Leather couches, your own climate control and a bathroom that is like its own vacation. Watch out for toys in the driveway as you back out (for us they were never in the way).

    Heather2017-04-29T00:00:00Z
  • Great secluded place. Easy check in.

    Enrique2017-04-15T00:00:00Z
  • Overall, I had a positive experience staying at Altaf's place. A friend and I were in the area for a work-related conference and decided to try out his place for two nights. The place is located in a very nice and quiet neighborhood, attached to his single-family house, similar to a "basement apartment" or "guest house" concept, but it was next to his garage. It offered a private entrance, bathroom (with a washer/dryer available), bedroom (with 2 separate twin-size beds), a living room (with two couches) and a small kitchenette (with a refrigerator, stove, microwave, dishes and utensils). The place was relatively clean. Although I never met Altaf in person, he was relatively quick to respond when I needed help with a set of keys. All in all, if I'm ever back in the area, I would definitely consider renting from Altaf again.

  • Lisa is a great host. We had an absolute privacy. Her house is located in a beautiful neighborhood. Unfortunately we did not have a time to spend in her backyard, which is absolutely amazing. We will definitely stay at her place again!

    Katherine2016-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • Lisa is such a nice host! The house located in a gorgeous neighborhood, and it's beautiful both inside and outside. The decoration and furnisher show great taste of the owner. It would be great if one can stay longer and enjoy life there.

    Nan2015-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • It was a great experience speaking with Lisa. Ours was a last minute booking strategy because of the nature of circumstances surrounding it; weather, game cancellation and game time changes. The purpose of the reservation was to be near the Game tournament site and Lisa was so gracious to accommodate us. She was very specific in updating us about Electricity up to the last minute. Very helpful to be informed. Bob and Ray liked the apartment, Lisa welcomed them graciously and the apartment is exactly what it was described in the listing. Bob and Ray were very comfortable and slept good that night. They were very happy with the accommodation and would not hesitate to use the apartment again should we need it in the future. Thank you Lisa.

    Maria2015-06-28T00:00:00Z
  • The Listers were very gracious hosts. Very communicative which is always appreciated. The in law suite is really nice - spacious - and exactly as advertised. I would absolutely stay here again.

    Doug2015-03-21T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent choice for a comfortable weekend getaway. Close to the town of West Chester and a short drive to Longwood Gardens. This is a lovely home in an upscale neighborhood where you'll see the occasional deer and beautiful Christmas decorations. Heated towel rack and heated bathroom floors were a nice luxury. They had several pillows to pick from too which was very nice. They stock common toiletries just in case. Lisa was always timely in her texts and e-mails so we had the info we needed. During our stay whenever I contacted her I heard back within minutes. The entrance is private on the back side of the house with a convenient push button lock. Should we find ourselves in this area again we will be sure to try and stay here.

This cozy cottage is located right on the property of Galer Estate Vineyard & Winery. We are right in the backyard of Longwood Gardens & only a short drive to downtown Kennett Square, West Chester and Wilmington. Wake up to our Chardonnay vines in your backyard & when the winery is open, you are welcome to walk the ten steps into our tasting room and enjoy our wine!
Our carriage house is the perfect location for a weekend away. Enjoy the beautiful rolling hills of Chester County with vines right in your backyard.
Located right behind Longwood Gardens with many excellent restaurants a short drive away. Small towns that are close by also include Kennett Square, West Chester & Wilmington. We're happy to give you any suggestions, as there are lots to do in the Brandywine Valley!
  • Host stopped by to welcome us mad make sure we had everything we needed. Gave us some suggestions for places to eat dinner and suggested some shopping spots, in particular Terrain, which was awesome.

  • The Galers were kind and accommodating. I was in need of some solitude for the weekend and the cottage was the perfect respite!

    Nicole2016-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Very welcoming, charming cottage right next to the winery! Great location (short drive to Kennet Square main street, near Longwood Gardens). Excellent service at the bar by Josh who was a welcoming host. We texted Virginia with a small issues (missing toilet paper) and she came over in a few short minutes. Overall, we had a very lovely weekend despite an impending rain storm which dampened the view. We would love to come back again!

  • We felt welcome, comfortable, and well taken care of during our stay. It was very private and close to longwood gardens and some really great restaurants! We'd definitely go back.

    Laura2016-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • It was so wonderful. What a beautiful property. The employees at the winery tasting room were so lovely. The vineyard manager was so welcoming. I'm so picky about where I stay and it was spotlessly clean. The bed was so comfortable, and the cottage was so cozy. Waking up to a view of the grapevines was so amazing I almost thought I was in Napa. Thank you so much to our hosts. We will absolutely return again.

    Lisa2017-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is thoughtfully furnished and has beautiful views overlooking the vineyards and winery (and a horse in the distance). We appreciated the fresh flowers and complimentary wine tasting at the winery (a few steps from the cottage).

    Christine2017-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage and setting were very lovely; charming and evocative with the vineyard as the backdrop.

Bala Farm Cottage is a wonderfully cozy stone cottage, located less than 3 miles from the center of West Chester, at the top of a hill in a quiet neighborhood. It has charming study downstairs with a bay window looking out towards majestic trees, and an entry hall that ends with a wet bar, equipped with a refrigerator, microwave and coffee machine. The original curved staircase leads to the upstairs bedroom with queen bed and a spacious bathroom. You'll love your stay in at Bala Farm Cottage!
Bala Farm Cottage, located 2 miles from the center of West Chester, was built around 1850 to serve as a library at a time when the main Bala Farm house (built in 1759) was being used as a boarding school for boys. It's undoubtedly been employed in a variety of functions since then, and when we bought the property we thought it would make a perfect guest cottage. We've made a few changes to give the cottage some of the comforts that help make a very enjoyable stay. The kitchenette has a small refrigerator and microwave, in addition to a Keurig coffee machine with complimentary pods provided, a small oven, toaster and a kettle. Combined with a comfortable queen bed in the upstairs bedroom and a charming study downstairs with a bay window looking out towards a beautiful, majestic Ginkgo tree (one of the biggest in PA!), Bala Farm Cottage is the perfect place to spend a relaxing weekend in West Chester. There is a large stone fire pit just steps from the cottage that guests are welcome to enjoy, and there is also a screened patio and deck on the backside of the main house that you may find perfect for enjoying an evening glass of wine outdoors. While the cottage is currently set up for 2 guests, if you have more than two in your party and don't mind separated sleeping accommodations, we also have a guest room and bathroom on the third floor of the main house (not included in the cottage rate). We look forward to welcoming you for your stay at Bala Farm Cottage!
The cottage is only a 5 minute drive from the center of West Chester, and history abounds in the area. In fact, Bala Farm is located just off Birmingham Road, considered the "spine" of the Battle of Brandywine, and which British Troops marched down in September of 1777. Battlefield sites are just minutes away, as are multiple historic locations...some noted for their role in the battle, and others for their longevity and beauty. If natural beauty is your cup of tea, then you've got plenty of options. The world-renowned Longwood Gardens is only a scenic 15 minute drive away, and highly recommended. You may also opt to venture further south towards Wilmington to visit some of the other gardens and estates established by the du Pont family. There are miles of hiking trails at the Stroud Nature Preserve (5 minutes away) and at various spots along the Brandywine River in addition to the battlefield sites. Ridley Creek State park is a little further away (20 minutes), but is another highly recommended option with even more miles of hiking trails. Or, just sit outside the cottage and enjoy the beautiful trees on the grounds! If you're coming to West Chester to visit a student at the university, it's only 5 minutes away, and there are no shortage of establishments at which to feed hungry students. There are over 65 restaurants in the borough with enough variety to satisfy just about any request, and plenty of drinking establishments as well. We'll be happy to make some recommendations! Further from West Chester, you can head east to enjoy the world class city of Philadelphia, or head west and venture through Amish farmlands. Again, the options are many!
  • The photos of the cottage were accurate and it was a joy to see it in person, no need to worry that it won't meet your expectations. There were wonderful little touches of comfort, much was well-thought out ahead of time, and if you lack anything, Mina is there to help or supply you with what you might need. The location was superb, the ambience of relaxation and peace was just what we were hoping for. So restful, yet inspiring... we would surely return!

    Lisa2017-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • It's really quiet and cozy and although its close to the main house we felt like no body is around, they give you the full privacy and are there to help with anything you need. Mina and her husband maid special efforts to accommodate us late in the evening immediately after booking and were very helpful during our whole stay. I'd definitely go back.

    Alter2017-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful property, cool history, lovely accommodations. We actually are local to the area and needed a short break from our crazy toddler twins. It was a perfect weekend retreat and West Chester, Kennet Square, Chadds Ford areas are just gorgeous. We will definitely be coming back.

    Daniel2017-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this exceptional stone cottage. If you’re looking for historic charm and modern amenities … this place is for you. Mina is a woman of many talents (charming hostess, excellent communicator, creative designer, amazing chef, etc.). She channeled her keen attention to detail and fine taste when she beautifully decorated her countryside retreat. Mina also generously provided coffee, tea, juice, muffins, fruit, and other goodies for our breakfast. It was such a treat to read in front of the electric fireplace, savor our meals in the bay window nook, sleep soundly in a comfortable bed located in a dark, quiet room, and refresh in a large, modern bathroom. The highlight of our delightful stay was savoring a delicious, authentic Italian meal that Mina prepared for our private dinner party. We highly recommend staying at the Bala Farm Cottage, which is located near West Chester, Longwood Gardens, Brandywine River Museum, Stroud Nature Reserve, etc. We definitely hope to return for another visit.

  • This beautiful stone cottage is a lovely, peaceful oasis. Everything was so comfortable and clean and the bed was wonderful! Mina and her family are great hosts, easy to communicate with and very responsive if you need something. And Mina's cooking is amazing and well worth the extra cost. The best lasagna I have ever tasted! We had a great experience and will definitely be back!

    Anne2016-11-06T00:00:00Z
  • I had a excellent time staying at Adam's place. I had everything I needed - comfy bed, nice shower, spacious quarters, good internet service, friendly conversations with Adam, perfect privacy, and excellent location (very close to Winterthur and Longwood Gardens). The view is spectacular!

Beautiful Carriage Home on our property with Queen sized bed in private apartment. Additional mattress is available upon request at no charge. Bedroom, full bath (tub/shower), large family room, eating area and fantastic property. Coffee maker, microwave and toaster. We live in the main house so can hopefully accommodate most requests for items. There is a 55" LCD television (no cable) and PlayStation (upon request) so DVD and bluray can be accommodated.
We live on a 1.5 acre lot in a cul-de-sac neighborhood of 17 homes. Very private and quite. Peacefulness and yet walking distance to town.
  • Craig and his family were awesome hosts! The apartment above the garage is perfect for an individual or small family. My son and I stayed here for an area lacrosse tournament and it was great to not have to deal with over-booked and over-crowded hotels. We would stay here again.

    Monica2017-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • GREAT location! Craig was super friendly and very helpful with tips about the town. Highly recommend

    Charles2017-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • WIFI and TV were listed as amenities. Technically, yes, there was a TV, but there was no cable or programming on it. Nowhere in the entire place did we detect WIFI. Aside from that, everything was perfectly fine and as described. I'd have brought a laptop to connect to the TV with some movies had I known about the TV and internet situation--my only criticism of the stay.

  • Our stay at this lovely home was simply perfect. This was my first experience with Air BnB and I could not have chosen a better first property to try. The hosts provided an experience that was truly like being in your own home. Everything necessary was there. I highly recommend this property for anyone looking for a good base in Chester County / Greater Philly area. The house is spacious and comfortable, the location very convenient to shopping, restaurants and transportation and its a quiet and safe area. Thanks so much !!

  • Beautiful home in a quiet neighborhood. Caryle was a welcoming hostess and we loved our stay in West Chester. Plenty of room for four women - private space as well as a place to gather for social time. Thank you, Caryle!

  • Everything was perfect! The beds were very comfy in all the rooms, all the amenities and much more! A great place for families of all ages in a quiet neighborhood but walkable to West Chester town center for restaurants and night life! We hope to return again! Thank you Caryle for being a top notch host!!

  • Extremely well-maintained and comfortable property. We have already booked our second visit. Relaxing and charming inside and out.

  • The house is great for families! This is our second stay and we hope to come back again. Well appointed, beautiful yard with swing set and very close to amenities in West Chester.

    Kylene2017-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • We chose Caryle's house because it's centrally located between various destinations like Hershey Park, Dutch Wonderland, Sesame Place, Philadelphia, etc. To our surprise the house became a destination as well. The kids were excited to get back to Caryle's house each day to swim in the pool, run in the yard, and play in the basement 'game room'. It's a beautiful and very inviting home and Caryle made us feel more than welcome. We were also surprised with the beauty and variety that West Chester has to offer. We had an amazing experience and would recommend Caryle's house to anyone.

    John2017-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • This is a really beautiful house, perfectly located for exploring the Brandywine River Valley. Communications with Caryle were easy and clear, and her house manual was detailed but not overwhelming. We were lucky to be there for an August weekend with ideal weather, so having the pool was lovely. The house itself is clean, well laid out and beautifully maintained. As a couple with our two grown daughters, we had ample room to spread out or be together depending on what we felt like. We cooked several meals in Caryle's completely stocked, wonderful kitchen. Altogether, it couldn't have been better!

    Deborah2017-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • My 3 teammates stayed here for 3 nights and found everything just as listed and pictured. Clear instructions, easy check-in and out, lots of fun amenities. Comfy bedrooms and a great porch area. Very kid friendly too (playhouse and swingset). Really enjoyed it and will be our go-to place when we need extra space near WC. Thanks, Caryle (and Joe)!

West Miner Street is one of the most beautiful residential streets in the borough, lined with historic homes and flowering trees.
  • Nice place, within walking distance of the heart of the village, and Westchester itself is very cool. The apartment also has a great selection of books, everything from Pynchon to photographic histories of WWI.

Our comfortable two bedroom home is entirely yours during your stay. Step back into history with modern comforts, and step out to explore the town. Enjoy a home full of character, with exposed stone walls for a true feeling of old West Chester.
This cozy home was built in 1850 and still holds much of its original character, including stone walls and pumpkin pine flooring. We have so much love for this little place, and it strives to be your home-away-from-home. At 1000 sq ft, 2 bedrooms, and 3 stories, it's roomy for a couple and spacious enough to accommodate a small family or group. First floor: Living room with queen sofabed, Dining room, Kitchen, and deck. Second floor: Bedroom 1 with full bed, TV with cable and Chromecast, and closet. Bathroom with shower, hair dryer, essentials. Third floor: Bedroom 2 with full bed, TV (Chromecast), closet, and skylights. Air conditioning is provided (seasonally) on all 3 floors. With discussion, one well-trained dog could be allowed. There is a fenced yard. There is a $50 pet fee per stay. A pet-sitting service is available upon request. Foodies love WC! So many restaurants to choose from. Just walk out the door, and explore! Just a couple miles outside of West Chester is a beautiful countryside, wildlife preserves, and trails. Things to consider before booking: This home has a built-in spiral staircase leading to the 2nd and third floors. Please consider when booking with small children or others who may have difficulty with steps. This home is small (and that's why we love it!) Max guests is set at 4 because we care about your comfort (and our neighbors). Please take into consideration any guests of tall stature, since the 2nd floor hallway has a low beam where the bathroom connects. We have neighbors on both sides of the (attached) home, and both have small, friendly dogs. (Our neighbors are friendly, too!) If you're okay with all of the above, we're happy to host you!
We love walking the town! Everything you need is in walking distance. Groceries (Carlino's), pharmacy, dry cleaners, breakfast, lunch, and dinner! WC Grower's Market is Saturdays from 9-1 pm from May-December, and 10-Noon for Winter Market. Cyclists! The West Chester Cycling Club leaves from the parking lot in the front our house each weekend. Chester County is a wonderful place to bike, and our next door neighbor is happy to guide you on a daytime ride during the week. Just ask and we can set it up.
  • Kim made this an excellent first experience with airbnb! The accommodations were very clean, comfortable and roomy. The location is excellent, within easy walking distance to a great downtown area. We'd definitely stay there again.

    Melissa2014-04-22T00:00:00Z

  • I stayed here for two weeks with my daughters (8 and 11) and it was great home during our stay. The girls enjoyed walking to get gelato in the evenings from Angelico's and croissants from the nearby French bakery. The home had everything we needed and was nearby lots of fun museums and parks.

    Caroline2017-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • West Chester is a lovely, historic town that has managed to revitalize its Main Street with wonderful restaurants & unique shops. It is very much a walkable town with much to do & see on each avenue. Kim & Ryan's home is only steps away from all this town has to offer. Each morning, I walked to West Chester Coffee & Ice Cream Bar for, well... coffee but I did return one evening for ice cream. I highly recommend both. The town is young & active and the house is located on a one way street into town so keep this in mind regarding traffic in the early mornings. The house has interesting architectual details including the stone/plaster work which is crafted with exceptional simplicity and tells a story of its tenants in years gone by. A lovely little gem to stay in especially for anyone who wishes to experience a heritage home as well as the renewal of a historic town.

    Katherine Deborah2017-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • This house is so cute and charming!!!! The kitchen is very well equipped, from quality cookware to spices and others things that you may not bring along for a weekend. Kim and Ryan are great hosts! They are very responsive to any questions that you may have. We loved all of the little details, including the bottle of wine! We would definitely stay here again!!! It is in such a great location because you can walk to the downtown area.

    Kristi2017-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • We had really enjoyable stay in this charming town house. It had everything we needed, was close to bars, restaurants and shops, and made a great base from which to explore the area.

  • My last stay at Kim & Ryan's place was so good that I decided to stay there again for the remaining 3 weeks of my business trip. Everything was as perfect as last time. Kim checked in with us regularly to make sure things were going smoothly. If my work brings me back to WC, I will not hesitate to stay here again.

The home was renovated two years ago and acts as my primary residence. Many personal items may still be found around the home, although every effort has been made to provide guests a comfortable visit.
Situated in a highly desirable neighborhood, the home is very close to one of the best parks in town, the university, and is still an easy walk to the downtown area. One of the great benefits of the location are the wonderful sunsets you can glimpse from the backyard or the nearby park.

  • Absolutely beautiful and comfortable home, in a perfect location of West Chester.

    Monica2017-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • Dara had a problem with the house and contacted us 60 minutes before our scheduled arrival to let us know the house was not fit for a rental. Dara was extremely apologetic and offered to let us stay at her personal residence free of charge. We were in town to visit my son for the weekend. After driving in traffic for 4 hours I was a bit stunned to receive Dara's text letting me know of her issue. We then spent the rest of our afternoon calling around trying to find a hotel in the area to stay in. The local hotels were all booked for the weekend so we had to stay outside of town. We're pretty easy going but I have to say I was upset with the short notice that was given. -- I suspect Dara feels badly about this. Just wish she would of had the property checked on sooner then it was. It also would have been nice if AirBnB reached out to me sooner than they did. Ultimately Dara provided me with the AirBnB support phone number and I had to call them. AirBnB did offer me a small credit for our trouble.

Affectionately called the Berry Patch Inn, this beautiful space is tucked away in one of West Chester’s historic late 19th century brick-lined neighborhoods just steps from the downtown. This charming home was built in 1905 by a local physician. Your space has a private entrance and porch, facing a lovely garden. Drink a glass of wine or a cup of coffee on your quaint enclosed porch that looks onto a sweet garden. While the room is connected to the rest of the house by an original 19th century door, it remains locked, giving you constant privacy. The space has been remodeled (with lots of love), including a new shower and hardwood floor. The bathroom features a rain showerhead, a repurposed antique mirror and the slab marble tiles are something special – you won’t want to leave! The Berry Patch BNB has a gorgeous plush queen size Simmons Beauty Sleep medium firm mattress, high thread count cotton linens, extra pillows, organic towels and high speed internet. If you are traveling as three people or you prefer to have two beds, the room has a bonus single bed that can be prepared for an extra $20 per night upon request.
At the heart of Chester County, the Borough of West Chester is the gateway for a robust palette of activities for everyone. We are only a few blocks from West Chester University known for its outstanding music school, among other departments. For food lovers, while you needn’t leave West Chester for eclectic or unique dining, you may want to explore other Chester County culinary opportunities. These include the Chadds Ford Winery, Marshallton’s Four Dogs Tavern, and the Dilworthtown Inn. West Chester has a weekly farmers market on Saturday mornings and boasts an all locally grown and home made farm to table restaurant named Roots Cafe. For garden and nature lovers, we are a short drive to the magnificent Longwood Gardens, the smaller but nonetheless beautiful Chanticleer Garden, Winterthur’s gardens and several regionally acclaimed arboretums. Northbrook Canoe Company offers kayaking, canoeing and tubing along the Brandywine River. Enjoy the Chester County Historical Society, nearby battlefields of Brandywine and the winter home of George Washington at Valley Forge. View the stunning collection of American furniture and artifacts at the Winterthur Museum and Library. The Dupont’s historic homes in Delaware are also worth visiting: Nemours Mansion and Garden and the Hagley Museum and Garden. The area also features many antique shops, if you wish to bring some history home! For art lovers, enjoy West Chester’s galleries and visit the Brandywine River Museum of Art’s outstanding collection of three generations of the Wyeth family. Discover the Wharton Esherick Museum and marvel at the work of “the Dean of American Craftsmen.” Of course, other world class museums are less than an hour away in Philadelphia (The Barnes Foundation, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Rodin Museum and more) and Wilmington (the Delaware Art Museum).
  • Nora's place was absolutely perfect! She went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and was very helpful during the booking/check-in process. The location was great, (right in the heart of West Chester) and the room/private bath was ideal! Beautifully decorated and very well cared for.

  • I have stayed here numerous times and Nora always does an excellent job.

    Andy2017-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • Nora was very communicative before and during our stay. Before arriving, she provided excellent directions. The room and the backyard are gorgeous. The bed is very comfortable and the pillows/blankets are soft and inviting. The bathroom has a great shower with a beautiful mirror with shutters decorating it. The neighborhood is very charming, and we found ourselves walking to eat instead of driving so we could see more of the houses in the area. Also I have to mention the amenities. We had a keurig machine with creams and sugar to use, recently purchased coffee cups from Mexico, and we were given shampoo, conditioner, and soap for the bathroom. I highly recommend staying here!

  • great location, walkable, but in a private setting

    Jason2017-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • Nora's pace is great, very comfortable, nice shower, high bed, good temp control, low noise, very cute porch for coffee in the morning. Nora is very hospitable, helped us out with one or two little extra requests. Beautiful enormous shiso plant in the backyard.

  • This airbnb property is very quaint and cozy. It is clean, with a comfortable bed and spacious shower. You quickly come to appreciate the closeness to the downtown area of specialty shops and restaurants. We were in walking distance to most areas we were interested in. The parking and entrance to the property is fantastic with easy entrance. Nora is an excellent host with a quick response time, and effective follow up prior and during our stay. I highly recommend Nora's property if you are in need of a property in West Chester!

  • I walked to get gelato at 10 pm and felt perfectly safe. There were people out walking dogs and chatting. This is an old town with brick sidewalks and narrow alleys but very well kept and people everywhere talking, skate boarding, biking. The sidewalks are uneven (brick) so it would not be good for seniors. Reminds me or a small version of Alexandria, Virginia. Also, it's a college town so there was a loud party two doors down but they quit partying at 10pm which was good. No TV so I got a lot of work done. Very cute and comfortable.

  • Lovely house in the middle of wooded rolling hills, valleys and small horse farms about 45 minutes from Philadelphia. Beautiful back yard. The house was very well maintained and the kitchen was perfectly adequate to prepare meals for our party of 9. I would highly recommend this place.

  • Great house for a large group. The dining and outdoor spaces are great for large group meals and outdoor gatherings. The location is beautiful and quiet. The house is well appointed with the basics. The hosts were very easy to contact and responsive. The interior stairs are steep and may provide a challenge for some, but there is a railing.

    Michaela2017-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • Jolly and her son Andrew were incredibly accommodating for our group and our only (very small) issue was promptly and efficiently taken care of. The house was clean and the property was beautiful. It was nice and secluded, which as a group coming from the city, was a nice change. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone visiting the area!

    Matthew2016-06-19T00:00:00Z
  • The farm house is perfect for a large group (our group was smaller than expected, so we had plenty of room to spread out). There are tons of different dining/entertaining spaces both inside and out. The house is fully updated with all modern amenities but it still retains its historic charm. The location is perfect as a base camp for activities throughout the Brandywine Valley - convenient to hiking, wineries, outdoor festivals, antiquing, etc. The setting is also beautiful - surrounded by farmland with only a few neighbors and plenty of privacy. I can't recommend this place highly enough - we had a fantastic time and can't wait to come back the next time we're in the area!

  • Amazing place to stay in a quiet scenic valley. Loved it, hope to repeat. Great communication from Jolley with easy check-in and check-out.

    paul2017-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • This house is fantastic! It suited our group of 10 perfectly. Jolley was very attentive and met our first group upon their arrival. The grounds are wonderful and we enjoyed the firepit in the gazebo as well as playing bocce and croackay (sp?!). I would highly recommend this house to anyone visiting the greater Philadelphia area. The countryside is geourgeous, lots of horse properties in the area. The house and grounds are very serene. 5 stars!

    David2016-05-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend at Jolley's house. The house is very well-equipped with everything you need and felt very homey with lots of books and cool art. Jolley's son Andrew helped us check in and made sure we were all set. The house has beautiful landscaping and a playground that our 3-year old enjoyed. There was plenty of room for 6 adults and 3 young children to spread out with room to spare. The upstairs loft was separated by a door and had room for an entire family of four to fit (maybe more). The house didn't have great cell phone reception but that wasn't a problem for us. We wish we had more time to explore the area, which looked like it had lots of attractions, but we did enjoy getting fresh strawberries, rhubarb, pies and apple cider donuts at Highland Orchards nearby.

  • This is an absolutely charming, family friendly house. I can't stress enough just how pleasant it was to stay here with 8 other members of my family. My brother and sister in law stayed in the third floor loft area, along with their older boys. They had the whole floor to themselves and that was nice because they are especially late to bed people! The master bedroom was excellent - spacious and convenient with large bath and closet attached. My elderly dad (86) managed to do alright with the stairs going from first floor to second, where master bedroom was, but the stairs may be a challenge for some. Certainly not for most people! The best part was the kitchen - actually the whole first floor, patio and the grounds. Absolutely comfy and great for accommodating our large group. A round large table in the kitchen fits 10! And it has a lazy susan in the middle! Kitchen had everything you'd need or want to make large meals and to share in the making of a meal. Nice details everywhere....games to play, separate area for those wanting to watch TV and another room for reading, playing, talking. The weather was very rainy so we didn't utilize the outside patio or walk the property. That was so disappointing. There is a large table outside as well, plus a covered gazebo like structure - lit and with cozy seating! Although we mostly stayed indoors when we weren't touring around, we spent a lot of time photographing butterflies. I have never seen a non stop show of swallowtails like we did during our 4 day stay! I wouldn't change a thing and would definitely rent this home again. Thank you Jolley!

Retreat to cozy comfort with an industrial feel!!! Iconic flatiron building located within walking distance of historic downtown West Chester as well as easy driving access to all that Chester County and the Brandywine Valley have to offer.
Iconic "flatiron" building located in the center of West Chester. Walk to all the borough has to offer!!! Beautifully renovated three story brick and stone triangular shaped home which was built in the early 1900s as a bakery and has had a great deal of history since then. Known for many years as The Triangle, residence and studio of notable Chester County artist Dennis Haggerty. Now the flatiron offers great charisma combined with modern conveniences. Hardwood floors, brick floor in kitchen, cathedral ceiling, balcony overlooking first floor, built-in bookcases, and metal spiral staircases all add to the flatiron's industrial feel. Without a doubt one of the most unique properties in Chester County. The flatiron has been photographed and painted by many artists and still bears the Ceresota Flour/Wrigley Gum ghost-sign on the Chestnut Street side of the building.

  • Great value, great location, very comfortable accommodations

  • Carlos is a gracious host who takes pride in his spacious, clean, quiet, comfortable home. The place where we stayed was within a few blocks walking distance to a quaint town center full of delightful local restaurants, and about a five minute drive from West Chester University. We had the pleasure to also meet his father, a friendly likeable man, who was doing some routine maintenance on the premises. Should we return to West Chester, we would stay here again in a heartbeat.
