“This is was the venue for the 1996 Olympic slalom events. Huge whitewater and it's a good place to watch some raft carnage on this section of the Upper Ocoee river. Excellent mountain biking trails start and end here. I believe there is a $5 (cash only or passes are available) fee to the U.S. Forest Service to park here for over 30 minutes. I think it's good for the entire day. ”

“Historic building owned by one of the pioneer families of Reliance, Tenn. This building served as the local post office and they offer river shuttles and kayaks for rent for the upper Hiwassee. This is a true southern Appalachian mountain general store at its finest! Located at the junction of highway 30 & 315 on the bank of the shimmering Hiwassee River. ”

“This is probably the biggest non outdoor/wilderness adventure tourist draw in the Delano area. A group of old world order Mennonites (no power & no engines, etc) farm 500 acres here and grow some amazing produce and sell it and some homemade crafts and soaps, breads, etc. at this little market. Open April-September or so and Monday - Saturday from 9-4. It is cash only. It's a must do!”
