Natural Feature
“Enjoy a walk out onto Griffiths Island. If your looking for a lovely 4km loop walk we recommend you turn right as you walk onto the island and follow the beach around to the light house. If you are less adventurous or find walking on sand difficult we recommend you head left and follow the formed path out the lighthouse and back. Directly to and from the lighthouse is approx 2km while walking around the whole island is approx 4km. The island is home to a large Shearwater bird colony and therefore dogs are NOT permitted on the island. If you visit the island around dusk between Sept-April you will see the Shearwater birds (Mutton birds) returning to the nests for the night. ”

“Ignore the pics of a city...Our Aunty Jean worked in this classic and qualint pub locally known as 'The Stump' for EVER!! So we still love it and take the dogs, and sit out the front with a drink and a fairly traditional pub meal. So we love it, and recommend a visit. Sometimes open on Christmas Day (Port Fairy pubs rotate this service annually).”

Point of Interest
“This is our favourite walk, and we never tire of it! Beautiful beaches, stone paths, wide-open plains, this easy walk has it all. During summer you can take a twilight walk and see the Shearwaters by the thousand make their way home to feed their babies. The owner of Old Market Inn is also a photographer and can take photos you'll have forever as part of your memories at Port Fairy.”

“Its the gold standard for coffee and people watching in Port Fairy. You can sit and watch the main street in both directions getting a feel for the locals and tourists alike as you sip a cuppa or enjoy a well cooked meal. Its very casual but Rebecca will be there and is a local icon herself as she has served a great quality of hospitality for decades. ”
