Places to stay in Portland
Beautiful, spacious, 1 bedroom heart of the city urban apartment featuring 12 foot ceilings, high end kitchen and bath, refinished hardwood floors in a location that is absolutely terrific. Amazing City Scape Views! Sleeps 3 : 1 Bedroom with queen bed and there is a Futon in small auxiliary room.
Although a lot of places are called "great locations" it's truly hard to beat this one. We are next door to two coffee shops two restaurants, around the corner (literally) from one of the best coffee spots in town. 50 feet from a bakery, a well known donut shop, a one minute walk to a movie theatre and less than a minute to the Public Market House. Even a men’s and woman’s hair Salon are less than a half minute walk! Portland's Old Port is two blocks away.
  • You can’t beat this location! The room was super clean and perfect for my boyfriend and I to spend the weekend. Thanks Chris!!

Dan's place is close to nightlife, public transport, the city center, and parks. You’ll love his place because of the ambiance, the outdoors space, the light, the neighborhood, and the comfy bed. The suite is perfect for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers.

License#STHR0011152019 Spacious 1 bedroom w/living room, eat-in kitchen and bath in ideal Portland peninsula location, walk to all. situated on the edge of the west end and downtown. 2 blocks from the ocean. Walk everywhere in this central, historic, perfect location. Easy street parking. Simple furnishings, older retro flair. 2nd floor of 3 unit Victorian on dead end, quiet street. Queen bed and futon sleeps up to four. There is no parking but often spaces are available on this dead end street
Please read carefully: This is a well-loved apartment in an 1875 building full of sunlight, with Hardwood floors and tall ceilings, you'll be in a classic Portland "triple decker" Victorian building surrounded by the stunning architecture of portland's historic west end. You can walk anywhere in town within minutes. Basic kitchen and bathroom essentials provided. One queen memory foam bed and one fouton can sleep up to four. Large living space-this is an older apartment with older kitchen and bath-it is simple-not luxurious or modern-but it is clean and in the best location. Please appreciate the value of my space-that it is affordable, clean and large, with a retro flare and in a very desirable neighborhood, walking distance to everything on the peninsula. however, be advised, there is no tv and towels do not match and I have never been to ikea. This is the 2nd floor of a 3 unit and the second floor walk-up has steep steps, consider this if you have mobility issues. One Window a/c unit in bedroom, radiator heat (steam heat=white noise which apparently bothers some) I live below and tenants live on the third floor-you will hear occasional sounds throughout the building from residents and even though it is a quiet street you may still hear people on the street (it is an apartment in a city-after all). There is no parking for air bnb-even though there is a driveway-the spaces belong to tenants...guests parking in the driveway for a few minutes to unload luggage is fine..guests have usually been able to park easily right on my street at no cost. Street parking is free on most streets in the neighborhood-Just read the signs as there are usually 2 nights a month overnight parking is not allowed on certain streets for cleaning. Guests arriving late in the evening may have trouble finding street parking. There is also a $5 daily parking lot on commercial street next to Irving gas station about a 3 minute walk. This is a quiet building and no partying is allowed. The apartment is located on a dead end street off park street on the right called Stetson ct-it is a block away from the landmark historic Victorian mansion on park street and danforth. Additionally, early check-in or late check-out can most likely be accommodated with a $20 fee. That said anyone staying beyond the 11 am check out for whatever circumstances will receive a $20 payment request.. Thanks
Portland's west end is such an amazing neighborhood, wandering through these tree lined streets filled with incredible architecture is one of my favorite pastimes. Smile at everyone out for a stroll and enjoy the beauty and character surrounding you. Rosemont market, oh no cafe, and speckled axe coffee are all staples of the west end. Commercial street is two blocks away and uptown or downtown are both 10 minute walks.
  • Beautiful and affordable place to stay with a very nice host who was very helpful and responsive! Would definitely recommend to people visiting Portland :)

    Noga2020-02-18T00:00:00Z

  • Apartment was super clean, and close to everything!

    Rob2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • This is a giant place with plenty of room for staying in and feeling like you're at home. Perfect part of town, friendly and helpful notes, generally lovely all around.

    Georgina2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • This place is in a great location. There was a lot of snow while we were there, which made it a little more difficult to walk around the city. Sharon was great about helping us navigate the winter parking bans that were instituted because of the snow. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants the ability to exploring the city on foot.

  • Perfect place in arts district. Walking distance to most destinations in downtown. Tom was a great communicator and the space was great.

    Amanda2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our night in Portland. Tom's studio is in downtown, close to everything. It's a stylish studio with everything we needed.

    Laura2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Tom was a fantastic host with an extremely clean and cozy place to stay! The loft is right in downtown Portland and so close to so many things.

    Matthew2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Toms place is amazing! The bed and sheets were the coziest of any AirBnB I’ve ever stayed in. I’m big on cleanliness and this place was legitimately spotless. There’s a roku tv so you can sign into Netflix which is great. There’s also all of the kitchen tools you could need. The towels were soft and the bathroom was very nice. Location is out of the world!! So close to many amazing restaurants, bars, things to do. We will be back, our stay was amazing!

    Amy2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • This was a great find and a great value. My girlfriend and I were in town for a show at the State Theater--this was the perfect place to stay. An easy walk to the theater even in February, it was also close to quick bites/drinks and coffee like Otto Pizza, Empire, the Speckled Ax, and Bow Street Beverage. The loft was modern, spacious, and clean. It had a great vacation feel, even for someone who is in Portland regularly. And don't under estimate the value of parking being included! The lot was close and well lit at night.

    Katie2020-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • Beautifully clean place. Up to date with technology. In walking distance to most of the stuff we visited Portland for. Tom was very accommodating. Couldn’t of asked for a nicer stay

    Dave2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect studio for a couple with everything you need. It was clean and we were able to walk pretty much everywhere we wanted to. Everything was spotless. Bed and sheets were so soft and comfy. We will definitely be staying here when we visit again.

    Jennifer2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • I spent two nights a Tom's place in the winter months. The location was perfect, close to Portland's downtown and great restaurants, bars, etc. The space itself is very comfortable and has refined style, with thoughtful touches that pleasantly surprised us. It didn't leave anything to be desired. Parking is just across the street and you can come and glad you please with the parking tag. Kudos to Tom for being a fantastic host. We hope to Tom's place in Portland in the warmer months to see another side of the city!

This small, cozy, fully functional one bedroom apartment is walking distance to everything that the city of Portland has to offer. It's an older building with a lot of character.
There is parking for 1 vehicle, but we always tell our guests to check the street first, as it’s free parking and typically not an issue finding a spot in the neighborhood.
It's easy to get to wherever you're going.
  • You can expect excellent communication. Great location and a good value for your money.

He was very responsive during the booking process and though we did not reach out, I got the impression he would have driven us to his favorite spots himself. Excellent hospitality

The Walker House was built in the mid-1800s as a private home by Henry B. Walker who was wise enough to capitalize on all the clay in the soil in Maine and owned 3 brickyards. Now on The National Register of Historic Places, the house is located just over Portland townline so you’ll enjoy the space, quiet and safety of a family-oriented area with just minutes to the center of town.
  • Pete's place is the perfect space for a quick stay in Westbrook and AWESOME if you have a dog. The fenced in back yard was fantastic and the loaner chew toys were much appreciated (we loved the artwork, by the way...).

    Brandon2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • This place is amazing! Great space, gorgeous decor, smooth communication and check in, and a great big yard completely fenced off that our dogs just loved! Thanks for the stay.

    Jennifer2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment was cute and had everything you could need! There was plenty of space and Pete was very accommodating to both my dog and I. We would definitely stay again!

  • Excellent space, friendly host. Will return!

    Diana2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Pete had a very unique apartment. Part of it almost felt like I was living inside an art exhibition! Harley (my dog) and I stayed here for a day. Pete was very accommodating of having a dog and left very clear instructions for everything and check in was a very easy process. There is also access to a fenced in backyard which is ideal for anyone traveling with a pet. The location is also amazing as it is a very close driving distance from the docks/main hub of Portland. Will definitely stay again if I visit!

    Iris2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy place for a quiet getaway. The hosts are wonderful. Our dog especially loved the accommodations.

    Gabrielle2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great place to stay on the outskirts of downtown Portland ! short ride into the city… I enjoyed staying here very much… Great accommodations… great value... Pete is a very accommodating and super thoughtful host...🙏🏼will be back for sure ! 😁

    Brenda2020-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • This airbnb was everything we needed for our visit home. Living in Philadelphia, our dog doesn't get to enjoy a backyard, so Pete's airbnb was a dream for our pup. The apartment was clean and well stocked. The layout was so comfortable and warm. I loved the shower, the water pressure was amazing. My spouse and I look forward to staying here again.

This spacious one bedroom apartment is located in a restored house built in 1845. A colorful, cozy space that boasts tons of character with original honey-colored hardwood floors. With plenty of on street parking and a 10-15 minute walk to downtown and the historic Old Port, you can park your car and forget about it for a while. My partner Jennifer, a fellow Superhost in Portland, manages the Airbnb for me and handles all messaging and coordinating for the space.
This apartment features great natural light and has an open concept feel. The morning sun floods into the living room as the sun rises. Newly renovated bathroom with walk-in tile shower. Hulu, Netflix and Pandora are all available on the TV. For the 3rd and fourth guests, there is a single as well as a queen inflatable mattress available. The sofa is super comfy for sleeping as well. Pack and Play and a highchair are available for your little one. Most of the artwork throughout the apartment is by my Mom. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
The West End is a lovely neighborhood, tucked on the edge of the peninsula. There is a playground and a lovely park just two doors down and a few restaurants and shops within two blocks. You can walk downtown (to the Old Port or the Art's District) in 15-20 minutes.
  • Stayed for the weekend, I loved the independent check in process. The house was warm, comfortable and had everything I needed to cook a meal.

    Lexy2020-02-02T00:00:00Z

Jennifer was especially kind and let me know about the parking ban and suggested local parking garages during my stay. 10/10!

A mix of cozy with modern touches, this just-renovated space is what you've been searching for! Come couples and small families, it's much more spacious than a hotel room and has far more character. We are located near quaint Deering Center, right outside the hustle and bustle of the city; a short walk to UNE graduate campus. We are on the bus line with close walking and biking paths. We've set this space up for you! So, whatever reason brings you to Portland, be our guests!
The entire apartment is set up for guest to be travel-friendly and convenient. Washer and dryer outside the unit, on the same floor.
  • Awesome place. Great location. Amazing price.

  • We had a wonderful trip to Portland and made even better by this wonderful Air BnB! It’s in a great location, about 10 minutes to downtown Portland, very clean, and many amenities including lots of blankets and toiletries. The apartment is great for a couple, friends, or family. It’s very nice to have a full kitchen as well! There was coffee for the Kureig machine, water bottles in the fridge and even candies around the apartment! Thank you for a great trip-would definitely stay here again :)

  • This place was so much more than we expected! They had every little detail covered! We had privacy the whole time and were able to do a load of laundry before we headed back home. A 10$ Uber ride away from Old Port and the downtown area of Portland, and they were quick to answer any questions we had. Thanks guys for an amazing stay!

    Chelsea2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Incredibly clean. Hosts have added many thoughtful touches to make you feel at home. A great place to spend time with those you love

  • Perfect spot for a place to wind down after a busy day. The four of us enjoyed our stay here. We recommend!

    Cuong2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Really incredible spot. The hosts truly thought of every amenity and went above and beyond. Only thing of note is that if you’re a light sleeper, bring earplugs because it’s a thin ceiling. Absolutely no complaints though. Perfect experience.

This sunny 1 bedroom apartment is on a quiet street close to the train station, bus station, exits to 295, and Congress Street in downtown Portland. The apartment comes with a fully equipped kitchen, towels and bedding, A/C, and off-street parking. It's 1.1 miles to Congress Square (at High Street) and just over 2 miles to the Old Port. Dont want to drive? Take a Lyft, Über or cab for less than $10!
This one bedroom apartment is FULL of sunlight from dawn till dusk! There is a curtain, which can be closed to create a private space for guests staying on the pull-out couch.
This quiet dead end street on the peninsula is a great place to quickly get away from the crowds and regroup for a night on the town. Our Libbytown neighborhood is right off of 295, which makes for easy access. Drive downtown in minutes or walk to the Old Port in 20 minutes.
  • A great find! Very clean, comfortable, and spacious. Extremely close to all of the restaurants and bars downtown. An amazing value! Would 10/10 recommend!

Welcome to Whitney! A fantastic space, if 3rd floor works for you. There's a quiet professional atmosphere, and Old Port, Exchange Street, and SeaDogs baseball are a five minute drive, or twenty+ minute walk. Maine Mall is close, as is the interstate, if you want to drive up the coast. Walk to Thompson's Point (a few blocks), with a music venue and eateries! Prices vary seasonally and weekends. City bus is nearby, too. Quiet, walkable area. STHR-002019-2019
Our guest suite is private, with its own entrance. Enjoy your own area to relax, do some work, or hang out watching TV. We appreciate quiet, so please be considerate of those in the rest of the house. We will do the deep cleaning, but if you can leave things as clean as you found them and strip the bed and put linens and used towels in the pillow cases, that would be great. You can leave them in the mud room. Thanks!
Our neighborhood is friendly and a great place to walk for a little fresh air and exercise after your trip. A quick jump in the car will bring you to a wonderful local market and bakery just about a mile away -- Rosemont's -- you won't want to miss out on a nice soup, bottle of wine, or baked goods! There is also a grocery store and laundry mat a very short drive away (half mile), and a few convenience stores within walking distance. The best is Tony's Donut's, also walkable! Yummy! If you love Yoga, Portland has dozens of studios. There are wonderful instructors! Hot yoga is just a little over a mile: Portland Power Yoga.
  • Great stay very close to the city! Clean and comfortable! Thank you again, Wendy!

    Jared2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • What a great find. I found out late that what I thought was an evaluation would actually be a needed dental surgery so I didn’t want to drive five hours round trip the day of. This location was right near the doctors office and was very reasonably priced. Once I got there I found it to be very clean and wonderfully quiet making my stay before and after the surgery perfect. The description is detailed and accurate. I would absolutely consider this spot if my wife and I were able to get a weekend away up here or if I have to come back to Portland for work again. Would highly recommend it!

  • Wendy's place was cozy and accommodating, it can comfortably fit 3 people and its a 5 minute drive from the city. When I visited in the winter the homeowners were super friendly and worked tirelessly to keep the driveway salted and safe. Wendys place functioned as a perfect place to come back to after a night out in Portland or a day of snowboarding.

    Michael2020-02-10T00:00:00Z

  • Take it from a local who stayed on Whitney while our house was under renovation - this apartment has an great location, amazing hosts and really has a "Portland feel" to it. Recently renovated modern studio cottage, located in a quiet Portland neighborhood only a 7-10 minute drive (and $9 Uber ride) from downtown Portland, the Old Port, and all local visitor attractions. Allagash Brewing is just a mile down the road, and you are within walking distance (.5 mi) of the bars and restaurants at Morrill's Corner. Everything in my cottage is new, hand-made, or 'upcycled' (my hobbies include refinishing antique furniture and building furniture).
Sliding barn door for the bathroom, custom-made concrete countertop, handmade furniture and refinished antiques, USB ports for charging electronic devices. Modern rustic: the best of the old world and the new! As a frequent traveler myself, I put a lot of thought into what makes a stay a fun, convenient, and relaxing experience, and designed some of the amenities and layout with that in mind. I hope you enjoy!
Even though it's only a short drive away from downtown, my neighborhood is very quiet and peaceful. You can look at the stars and fall asleep to the sound of crickets after a fun night in town. Local neighborhood pubs (Samuels, Bruno's Tavern) and restaurants (Susan's Fish & Chips, Po' Boys & Pickles, Bruno's, Babylon) are located a short 10-minute walk away. The complex that hosts Allagash Brewing Company, Foundation Brewing, and Austin St Brewing is a short 25-30 minute walk away (and passes Noble BBQ, one of the best bbq restaurants in Portland).
  • Tony’s place is so charming and comfortable! Small, but very cute and perfect for two people who want a cabin getaway, still close to the lively city of Portland! :) The place is very clean, and Tony was the ideal host— responsive and helpful. We felt confident that if we needed anything, he was a short text message or call away! When we arrived, an essential oil diffuser was on, which made it feel like home right away. We miss it already!

    Jessica2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Tony's little cabin was perfection! His design style and creativity is awesome. All the amenities you need for a weekend away. Very comfortable bed pillows and furniture. The kitchen is anything to people could want so you don't have to eat out for three meals a day. Location to Olde Port and all surrounding towns is fantastic can't go wrong booking this place.

    Lisa2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Tony’s place was exactly what we were looking for. It was a bit small but had everything we needed for our short stay (2 1/2 days). True to his advertisement, we never saw him but knew he was nearby if we needed anything. Great value!!

  • One of the best places we’ve stayed at. Great aesthetic, good vibes!

    Tyler2019-12-21T00:00:00Z
  • This was a very last minute trip up to Portland and Tony was very accommodating. The cottage is very cozy and has everything you could need. It is apparent that Tony really cares about his space and wants to provide the best experience for his guests. We can’t wait to be back!

    Elise2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • I booked Tony's place for one of my employees who was traveling to Maine for work. There was an unexpected snow storm that required her to check in a day earlier than planned, and also lengthen the stay. Tony was incredibly responsive, friendly, and accommodating to the last-minute changes.

This full, pet friendly, second floor apartment features multiple bay windows overlooking our garden and the neighborhood below. Adorned with original art and a fun collection of mid-century furniture and decor.
We have a comfy queen sized bed in the main bedroom. The front room, closes off with french doors and features two twin beds that can be moved together or even stacked to form a daybed. Our living room has a beautiful mid century couch that pulls out to make a full sized bed. Kitchen is fully equipped and has a gas range if you want to play chef.
This full and spacious apartment is conveniently located in the safe and quiet Hezletine neighborhood of Portland. It's less than a mile off-peninsula, a half-mile from the highway, a quarter mile from Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, and our local grocer, and walking distance from coffee shops and some great local restaurants.
  • This is what Airbnb is all about! Ian checked in with me before our arrival to see if there was anything he could help with. He gave us some excellent recommendations for places to go. Ian and Jessica have done an amazing job of making the apartment homey, cozy, and welcoming. They've thought of everything! The decorating is modern/eclectic and creative. There was everything imaginable in the kitchen that you could possibly need for cooking and eating meals there. The bathroom was fully stocked as well. We found special little touches … like a chess set, books and magazines to read, the vinyl record player … all incredibly thoughtful. The bed was comfy and they even had a fan which I use at home for white noise. Felt right at home. Convenient to everything in Portland and South Portland … we will definitely be back. Easy to see why Ian and Jessica are rated as Super hosts!!!

A comfortable, bright room with a spectacular view of the Fore River, in easy walking distance of the Old Port and the Arts District, on a quiet cul-de-sac in the Portland's lovely West End. (Portland City License # STHR-002050-2019)
As our only guest, you have a comfortable, light, second floor room in our "more than a hundred years old" house. Old Maine charm, wide board floors, great views of the Fore River Estuary and a quiet dead-end street all make this location a great place to stay while you explore Portland and the surrounding areas. We are in walking distance from Portland's Arts District and its charming Old Port. We are also very close to both its major hospitals. Three generations live here. The house is generally quiet and peaceful but on the days when my granddaughter is with us it becomes more boisterous and lively. On those days one can expect to hear the usual sounds one associates with young children. If your plans include sleeping late on quiet mornings please be sure to check with us about the dates to see if they coincide with her visits or not. (We want your stay to be enjoyable!) The room has a queen size bed. There is a natural gas heater in the room so you can keep it comfortable. You would share the upstairs bathroom. There is a rather steep staircase to reach the second floor. (Have a look at the pictures to see it). This can be a challenge with large luggage or those who have difficulty with stairs. We are not a good options for folks with mobility issues.
The West End is one of the best places to live in Portland. It has tons of historic old houses, with lovely gardens and interesting architecture. It's the perfect place to walk around and take in the city. As you do, you'll find the West End Promenade, with views west as far as the White Mountains on clear days. There are schools, shops, and gourmet and everyday restaurants. You can get a pizza to bring home or sit at an outdoor table as you enjoy a variety of cuisines. It can be noisy at times. During the day you can hear trains and trucks below on Commercial street, jets overhead, and tugboats honking out in the harbor which you can see from my back porch.
  • This is the coziest and warmest space. Waking up to the sunrise over the water was just the cherry on top of a great room. The area is about a 20 minute walk to downtown restaurants and venues. Marsha and Krista were wonderful hosts that thought of everything :)

    Jenny2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay with Marsha - we appreciated the nice touches (e.g., coffee, tea). It was a ~15-20 minute walk to downtown Portland. Check in was easy and Marsha was communicative. The only downside is having to walk through the backyard in the snow and up a tiny staircase (as noted in the listing).

    Jeff2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • We were fortunate enough to stay with Marsha overnight in Portland. Being my first AirBnB experience I was honestly a little skeptical. Honestly Marsha blew us away. She was clean, organized, accommodating, and friendly. I'd have no hesitation recommending her to anyone else in the future. In fact I've already shared my experience with my peers and they have noted Marsha's AirBnB for their trips.

    Jarid2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Great room in a great area of town. View of the water from the room was nice. Could walk to many places or take a quick ride-share. Felt like I experienced a part of Portland history.

This is a newly renovated apartment on the 2nd floor of my building and is above an existing Airbnb unit that has been a great hit for the past 2 years and holds a 4.5 star rating w/ over 300+ reviews! It's in walking distance to everything Portland has to offer! It's an older building and has a lot character!
As old as the building is, the 2nd floor sags to the left when you first walk in and levels out to the center of the room and the 3rd floor bedrooms are level. We recycle in the entryway hallway, so you will see the bins when you walk in. Parking is as follows, there is parking for 1 vehicle, but we always tell our guests to check the street first, as it’s free parking and typically not an issue finding a spot in the neighborhood.
It's a safe neighborhood, with the Maine's largest hospital 200 yards up the street and the city's largest park 200 yards down the street.
  • Nick and Sara were both so helpful and attentive when we reached out. The place was so nice and spacious. I would definitely recommend!

  • Lovely apartment in an historic neighborhood. Very quiet area. Right near a beautiful park. Our stay included ice skating there with our grandson! There's also a farmer's market in the spring/summer/fall. The apartment is just a few blocks from the main strip, Congress Avenue, loaded with restaurants, book stores, antique shops and other amenities. The furnishings create a calm atmosphere, the beds are comfortable, and the kitchen is great to work in. Very light and airy overall. Highly recommended. The hosts are super responsive to queries.

It had everything we needed to enjoy our quick stay & we would highly recommend to those visiting Portland. Thanks again!

  • A lovely spot in a great location!

    Anna2019-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • My wife, toddler, and I stayed at Francine and Greg's as a stopping point between our flight into Boston and eventual destination of mid-coast Maine. It was a lovely space (and it would be even lovelier in nicer weather), relatively easy to baby proof, and a great location for exploring the city. Sound did seem to travel very easily within the apartment, so if you're traveling with light sleepers who go to bed at different times that's something to think about--but as that didn't apply to us, we had a perfect experience :)

Our home is near parks, nightlife, hospitals and the city center but located in a quiet neighborhood. You can walk to everything. It's very small, but quiet and has a separate entrance. If you want to socialize with us you can, but you also have privacy too. The house was built in 1894, so the room/ bathroom are older, has a clawfoot tub and is small. Many guests ask about off-street parking. We have it available for 5$ per night in a nearby lot.
Full size bed. Very comfortable double bed. The room is small!! Electric heaters are available for your use to supplement the heat. Did I say the room was small? Its small but really comfortable. The bathroom is older and has a clawfoot tub, so you must be able to lift your legs over a 24" lip. Water pressure is very good.
The West End is primarily residential, with apartments and single family homes. It is very safe. There are nearby convenience stores, markets and laundry mats. The hospitals are both a ten minute walk away.
  • The place is great, good location to many of the attractions of Portland. Very nice hosts that are welcoming and accomodating!

  • Great spot! Clean and comfortable while maintaining a style’ish feel. Loved the location. Also, the sound machine in the bedroom was a nice touch to block out the street noise.

  • Truly a perfect AirBnb!! The location is amazing. My husband and I wanted to see a lot of Portland in a short period of time, and we liked being right in the middle of everything. I'm a stickler for cleanliness and this place was the cleanest AirBnb ever. I was so happy with everything about it. The check-in was easy and I never even had to contact the host. We are heavy sleepers and city people, so the noise outside wasn't an issue, but if you're looking for something quiet this is NOT your place. It's lively outside as one floor down are restaurants and bars. Nothing out of the ordinary for a main street.

    Lauren2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed the time at Tom’s beautifully designed and sunny apartment. The apartment is located in a beautiful building. His place is very comfortable, super clean and thoughtful equipped with absolutely everything needed and more. Also, the location of Tom’s apartment is perfect, central and in walking distance to everything we wanted to explore in Portland. Tom is a amazing host and very quick to respond. This is definitely a wonderful place to stay in Portland and we would love to visit again in future.

Fully renovated and equipped, cozy apartment in Rosemont neighborhood (great restaurants, coffee shops, etc) with everything you could need for a night's stay or an extended visit! Only 2.5mi to Portland's downtown and 4mi to the airport.
The apartment takes up half of the first floor of our house. It has it's own separate entrance and is not accessible from the main part of the house. The space is comprised of a bathroom (with claw-foot tub!), an eat-in kitchen (with gas range, blender, coffee maker, etc), and a homey, cozy bedroom.
Our neighborhood is quiet and safe, has several fantastic coffee shops, restaurants, and markets within walking distance and is only 2.5 miles from Portland's Old Port! We love that we can jump on our bikes and have numerous great restaurants to choose from within a 5-10 minute ride or just take a short stroll to one of Portland's best outdoor dining spots! We're also less than a mile from University of Southern Maine, University of New England, the Fore River Sanctuary (a gorgeous land trust), and the Back Cove Trail.
  • Thank you! Great hosts and communicators.

  • Jessie’s place was very clean, cozy, and warm, with high ceilings and plenty of sunshine. It was actually larger than we expected. Check in was easy, and she thought of all the little things travelers might need, from coffee and a vegetable peeler, to dental floss and contact lens solution. There was a snowstorm during our stay and she communicated with us right away about parking and snow removal. You could hear kids playing and running around in the morning, but this was clearly stated in the listing and a white noise machine was provided.

  • Daniel and Ben don’t live in the area but they are super great at communicating throughout the process. They gave us a bunch of info before and during the whole booking process as well as before and during our stay. The place is a decent distance from everything, although if it’s really cold out in the winter you might want to drive to some of the farther places. The neighborhood is nice and very close to Holy Donut. There is a bunch of information in the form of brochures and pamphlets and Ben and Daniel are very responsive by message if you ever need anything or have any questions. The whole appt is very clean and cozy, the only thing I would change is to maybe have different pillows. The pillows on the bed are pretty hard/dense so if you’re not the type to prefer that type of pillow it could be difficult to get comfortable. (Disclaimer there may be some different extra pillows in the closet , I didn’t check but if there is then disregard this part). Overall Portland is a great city and we hope to be back soon! We plan on trying to stay at Daniel and Bens place next time we are around.

  • The place was very clean, comfortable, and quite! What more do you need!? Notice it says “ample STREET parking”!...I’m an idiot and parked in the driveway. Got towed while I was out. Cost $100 to get it out the next morning! Oh well!...

    Alec2020-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • Daniel and Ben’s place was spotless and very comfortable. It’s in the perfect location. Close enough to downtown that everything is within walking distance but just far enough away that you also get a peaceful nights sleep. They were very accommodating and responded to all questions right away. We really enjoyed our stay.

  • I’m only allowed so many words here, all of which are not sufficient enough to express my happiness with my stay at Ben and Daniel’s. Other air bnb hosts please take note; this is how you do it. Thanks again for everything, guys. Love ya!

    Pat2020-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • Even though Portland is an amazing city with plenty to do, you will LOVE coming back to Daniel and Ben's place because the bed is amazingly comfortable! The shower is fantastic. Their place is about a mile from "downtown," but more importantly, only 600 feet from Holy Donuts. I highly recommend Daniel and Ben's place for your next visit to Portland.

  • We were very pleased with the neighborhood from which we easily get to our daughter's home in the Back Cove and also all the wonderful shops and restaurants downtown. The place itself was charming and clean and had all the kitchen and bath stuff that anyone would need. Will definitely go back. We had one small problem which didn't affect our stay, nor would it keep us from going back. I mention it only because we were so surprised and pleased with how quickly it was dealt with and resolved.

We love Portland, but we LOVE South Portland! Quiet and safe neighborhood. Great options all around if you don't feel like going into Portland. *Dipietros Market - Grab a sandwich from either place and take it to Bug Light or Fort Williams for a picnic! *David's 388 - (URL HIDDEN) We love it so much we had our wedding reception there!!! *Elsmere BBQ - Yummy BBQ and Beer in a comfortable, friendly environment. *Taco Trio - Have you been to Mexico? We have, and this is the best we have found ANYWHERE in New England !!! Casual and Yummy *Scratch Bakers - Get the bagels! (better get there early) *CIA : Coffee, Art, & Ice Cream - Yummy coffee and treats served by amazing people! *Otto's Pizza - Very Good Pizza. *Snow Squall - Good food, nice outdoor seating, and acoustic music on weekends. Great for a quiet night out! *The Cookie Jar - Got a sweet tooth? This place has donuts, pastries, cakes, and more. Good luck leaving with just one item. *Hannaford Grocery Store, do some shopping and stay in. *Eveylyn's, Spring Point Tavern, RJ's are all interesting local "dive bars" *The Park under the Casco Bay Bridge is a great place to be when the bridge goes up and the big ships go through (oh yeah, you can also see that from the living room!!). *Want a quiet night in? • Ken & Moya are great hosts, always available to help guests with a smile on their faces. We had a great time at their place. Amazing view from the living room window to the water, too!

  • I would just reiterate what a lot of the other positive reviews said - good location for the price, great food within walking distance (even in December), and great communication. I would add that the bed was really comfortable and the apartment was bigger than what we were expecting based on some of the other reviews.

  • My fiance and I had a lovely stay at this airbnb. It was easy to check in with the lockbox, and we found the apartment to be very cute and clean. The view across the road is so pretty (it looks out onto the water and nearby park). We didn't use the kitchen, as we had family in the area, but it looked nicer than our home kitchen. Ken and Moya left lots of recommendations for places to eat/drink and things to do in the area. They were very communicative hosts from pre-check-in to check-out. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay.

    Molly2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was so easy and hassle free. Clear instructions from where to park and how to get into apartment. Spotlessly clean, tons of needed items all ready for our use. Made our visit to South Portland so so relaxing! Definitely would stay here again.

  • The binder with local activities and restaurants was super helpful! The place was easy to find and the ubers into town were very inexpensive. The place was stocked with many amenities for our stay.

  • Loved the location and the view! The communication with Ken & Moya was super easy and quick. Would absolutely recommend to stay there!

  • Super great place for a trip into Portland without being too deep in the city that it’s hard to get around. Even though it’s next to a busy road it’s not loud at all. Very nice!

Enjoy the quieter end of Oak Street in the heart of Portland's Arts District. This studio is great for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers. Walk to just about everything Portland has to offer including museums, restaurants, shopping and the Old Port. Drive to many beaches in 15-20 minutes. 2020 City of Portland registration STHR 000854
For your comfort we provide linens, extra pillows, organic cotton towels, shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Blackout shades and a white noise machine will ensure a peaceful sleep in the city. A fully-appointed kitchen with plenty of bar ware, cookware, coffee, tea, sugar and creamer will make you feel at home and able to eat in if you choose. Two large closets are provided for your items. Parking for one car is included in the adjacent parking lot.
The Arts District is the best place to stay in all of Portland! Walk anywhere on the peninsula or just step out your door and find yourself in the middle of the finest galleries, live music and dining Portland has to offer. Just a few blocks from the waterfront, this section of Congress Street is lined with art galleries, antique shops, and artist studios as well as the Portland Museum of Art, the Institute of Contemporary Art at MECA, the Center for Cultural Exchange, the State Theater, the Portland Stage Company, the Center for Maine History and more. Several music venues offer live music in the Arts District : Blue, 650 Congress Street: A jazz club with every Saturday dedicated to the genre and live music nearly every night of the week ranging from open mic to Irish session. Tapas and a good wine selection. Empire, 575 Congress Street: Eat at Empire Chinese Kitchen before heading upstairs to see a show. Local and national acts pass through this small club, and it's home to the long-running Clash of the Titans series. Geno's Rock Club, 625 Congress Street: This rock/metal club has character. The theater-style set up makes every spot in the house a good one, and the whiskey is good. One Longfellow Square, 181 State Street, Suite 201: Hosting acts from all genres, this is a great place to hear old favorites and learn new artists. The bar offers local draft beers and cocktails made with local spirits. Port City Music Hall, 504 Congress Street: This mid-size venue attracts fantastic artists from across the country and supports the local scene, too. The beer selection offers many locally brewed options like Bunker, Oxbow, and Allagash. Space Gallery: 538 Congress Street: This Congress Street arts center hosts documentaries, community events, and music acts. Whatever the format, it's sure to be something that makes you think. Enjoy locally-made Urban Farm Fermentory cider or draft beer from Bunker Brewing Company. State Theater, 609 Congress Street: The State Theater could easily force its captive audience to buy overpriced drinks, but this mid-sized venue keeps its beer selection local, so you can enjoy your favorite Maine brew while you listen to the national acts that visit this historic theater. Portland has nearly 400 restaurants. A few worth trying right in the neighborhood include Emiltsa, 555, Taco Escobarr, Sur Lie, David's, Empire, and Boda.

    Joe2020-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I stayed in Tom's space in Portland for the weekend, and it was just right for what we needed! The space was larger than I expected, and sparkling clean. Tom gave excellent directions for parking/check-in, and was very prompt to answer any questions/messages we sent. The biggest selling point of this apartment is the location... it is right downtown and is literally steps from where you want to be in Portland! Thanks so much for a great weekend, Tom-we will hopefully be back again!

    Emily2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Tom’s space is a clean, cozy apartment in a great location. The apartment was extremely clean, had everything you need for your stay, and was a quick five minute walk to nearby restaurants and shops. We enjoyed our winter weekend here and recommend this listing to anyone during any season in Portland.

  • Look no further, Debbie's space is perfect! From the start you could tell she puts a lot of thought and effort into every little detail. The space is very clean, has everything you could need, and the location is perfect. There are little notes for everything in the house to make things easy. Waking up with the sun rising through the windows and making your way into the hot tub will be exactly what you need.

  • Views, special touches, sparking clean, quick responses, great value. Couldn’t ask for anything more. Favorite host and location of all time!

  • Debbie was a great host! We loved staying at her airbnb! We especially loved the amazing view of the water as well as the sunrise in the morning is stunning off the water! We also took full advantage of the hot tub! Lastly, Debbie was very prompt with responses to any communication we had! We would highly recommend and can’t wait to come back in the summer!

    Adam2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Debbie has thought of all the small things! Her home is clean, and all the extra touches go a long way in making you feel comfortable. If you forgot something, there is a supply of frequently needed items, a book of their favorite places around Portland, as well as previous guest notes and recommendations from their stays. The hot tub on the deck is lovely in the winter evenings, and the sunrises - wow! I highly recommend Debbie as a host and her home as a great place to stay for your visit in Portland. It's also very convenient to Portland (just across the bridge) as well as a number of sights to see in the area.

Soak in the secluded backyard hot tub at any time, with a pool available in the summer. At 800 square feet, this loft is 3 or 4 times the size of a hotel room, and from its flagstone floors to its cathedral ceilings, it offers much more as well. Enjoy the sophisticated and well appointed decor.
The loft is bright and airy given its 16 foot cathedral ceilings, four sky lights and five large windows. • My boyfriend and I visited the area with our fatbikes to check out the trails in the Portland/Freeport area and visit some of our favorite breweries. We didn't want to stay in downtown Portland or worry about overnight parking and this place is in a great location. There's a grocery store nearby and it didn't take long to get into the downtown area for breakfast. We only stayed one night and didn't cook there so I can't comment on the kitchen amenities except that I appreciated the option. The space was very comfortable and warmed up quickly (except the slate floor but there are plenty of rugs). I hope to visit again in the summer and take advantage of the pool and hot tub. Thanks, Pam!

  • My girlfriend and I stayed two nights here in February and loved every second spent in the loft! Instructions upon arriving are simple and clear. The loft is beautifully decorated and had a true feeling of home. We were visiting the Portland & Freeport areas, and this was in the perfect location between the two. I appreciated the coffee options and the non-dairy creamers that we’re provided. We utilized the fridge and some of the kitchenware, but mainly explored nearby restaurants, although we did appreciate the option to cook. One of the nights we stayed it had snowed about 6 inches over night, and Pamela and her family were nice enough to even brush off my car while they were shoveling!! We utilized the hot tub, which was a great addition to the trip! We HIGHLY recommend the loft to anyone considering!

    Michael2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I stayed here for a night in February. It was beautiful and clean and looked just like the pictures. The hot tub was an added bonus especially during the cold winter.

  • Great place in a great location. I've stayed in the group room before, but this is my first time in a private room. This is a much better option if you don't want to wake up too early. Also, nobody else had to listen to me snoring.
