  • Being a frequent business traveler to this area - I was looking for something different than the typical hotel stay. I left my home in CT at 4:30 with - 5 degrees showing on the temperature gauge. I checked in around 6 and found complete bliss with the heated bathroom floors.. This is an exceptional property with very nice hosts!

  • This was my first stay at an AirBnB home, and it couldn't have been any more perfect. Nikki was a wonderful hostess and her home is stunning. The room felt like a little cabin, with beautiful wood and vaulted ceilings. When I arrived there were snacks on the counter and drinks in the fridge for me. The room was even more beautiful in person than in the photos. The beach was less than 5 minutes driving from her home, and I was able to get to a ton of local restaurants and breweries within 10 minutes, making it a perfect location for me. I am so excited to come back up to Maine and stay here again. I have a feeling her home will be my new go-to place. I highly recommend!!

  • Small shower space, could be problematic for tall/larger person; just a comment for other possible renters. Cozy bed and pictures don't do the space justice, very nice and clean space. Coffee and snacks upon arrival. This space is set up for sleeping and relaxing, not cooking. Owner gives you your privacy. Thanks for sharing your home.

  • Very nice place, Nicole was very friendly

    Alexander2017-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful studio to spend the night! It was entirely made of wood from floor to ceiling and smelled amazing once you step foot inside. It was clean, cluttered-free yet had the essentials (even bikes!). We wish we could have stayed longer. The only downside was that it was on a bigger road than expected and you can slightly hear the cars driving by even with the windows closed. It didn't bother us and we really enjoyed our stay. Check-in was a breeze and Nicole was nice enough to let us back inside after check-out when we realized we had left one of our phones locked in the studio. Thanks for being a great host!

    Nina2015-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay in Nicole's apartment it was lovely and clean, had everything we needed and in a great location. The snacks and drinks provided were a nice touch and it was great having bikes available to use :) Thanks a lot for a great stay we hope to return.

  • Great host! It was spotless, comfortable, and fully stocked!

    Michelle2017-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • The studio is lovely and a wonderful place for a quiet retreat. It is just as pictured and very comfortable. We really enjoyed exploring the nearby marshes and coastline.

This is a late 1800's building in the popular east end/Munjoy Hill of Portland. The neighborhood is generally quite quiet but allows for easy access to the Eastern Promenade and downtown.
Need a Portland apartment for a night or a weekend or even a week? The comforts of home while you are away. A great location near to the top of Munjoy Hill! The Eastern Prom, Top of the Hill coffee shop, Rosemont Market and great restaurants only a few minutes walk away. Great garden space for relaxation and coffee drinking, on street parking (no permit needed, no cost, street cleaning on Monday and Tuesday mornings depending on the side of the street), laundromats 2-3 blocks away, WiFi and just about anything else you could want. Easy walk to downtown and easy parking. Fully stocked kitchen and (URL HIDDEN) like you never left home! One bedroom available for rent in our shared apartment, one full bath and an open design that links the kitchen to the dining room to the living room. Cool locally made thick pine bar in between kitchen and dining room. This building is a three unit which we own and there are full-time tenants on the first two floors so respectful guests are a must! The public bus line (the number 1 bus) stops at the corner. Non-smoking owner with no pets and we expect the same of my guests. No open flames, no parties and please limit guests to the number agreed upon. Complaints from our tenants warrant immediate termination of agreement. We do not air condition the entire apartment but can put a window unit in the bedroom for hot days though the nights usually get chilly!
A gem of a neighborhood and one of the most popular and upcoming place in Portland! Lots to do and an easy walk to downtown. The water is accessible in every direction!
  • Katy was very welcoming and easy to get in contact with. The apartment is very clean, beautiful, and in a great location! My husband and I could easily walk to nearby shops and restaurants. The apartment is a few blocks from the beautiful Eastern Promenade where we went for a nice run in the morning. Would definitely recommend!

    Melissa2016-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • Super clean and beautiful place. Was walking distance to amazing food and drinking spots. About a 5 minute drive to everything downtown Portland as well as the popular Old Port. Met Katy, who was very kind and offered awesome recommendations.

  • A great host with a great apartment! We know Portland a little and his recommendations are great. The apartment is in a great area and Brad was very accommodating to our needs, including bike storage. Thanks!

  • What a wonderful apartment and great location! After a long day of sampling Portland's "foodie" offerings, we looked forward to retreating to this comfortable and charming apartment to unwind and plan our next day's adventures. Our host, Brad, was very attentive to our questions via e-mail and his wife, Katherine, greeted us warmly on our arrival. As Brad points out this is not a traditional B&B, so no breakfast, but the French press was appreciated and the kitchen was fully equipped, if we desired to cook. Munjoy Hill hosts coffee shops, a fab food market (best sandwiches!), a wonderful restaurant, and spectacular views of Casco Bay - and is just up the hill from the Old Port. We would definitely return here to this East End Beauty. Thanks, Brad!

    Marty2014-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • Brad & Katy's place is exceptionally clean, cozy, and welcoming! Great location, comfortable bed, and a great stay overall. Brad & Katy were helpful when needed and otherwise provided us with clear instructions for logistics and a solid home base for independent exploration. Would highly recommend this place to those visiting Portland to see how locals (who are doing it right) live.

    Di2017-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • Great location and very responsive!

    Drew2017-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • Brad was out of town when we arrived but he was communicating very effectively with us during our stay. He gave us exact instructions on how to access his apartment so it was easy as a breeze. The house is close to Eastern Promenade park which we enjoyed. Also it is within walking distance to the restaurants and cafés. We enjoyed our stay a lot and are planning on coming back!

Cozy efficiency in solid brick building close to all in town amenities, located in a transitional but trendy Bayside neighborhood.. sort of like Brooklyn 20 years ago thus transitional, but super safe and super close to all downtown/Old Port amenities! Efficiency has no kitchen, but there is a small fridge, microwave and coffee maker. Private entrance/private bathroom.
Cozy efficiency in solid brick building close to all in town amenities, located in transitional but trendy Bayside neighborhood. Efficiency has no kitchen, but there is a small fridge, microwave and coffee maker. This unit is on the first floor in a 3 unit multi unit apartment complex that I own and live onsite at thus minimal to no interaction with others if so desired with shared entrance to building but private entrance to the unit. The Bayside neighborhood in full disclosure is considered slightly edgy, but up and coming for sure and as close to downtown as any neighborhood in Portland. It is extremely safe and as a working professional I love living in this location. It is busy location during the day with the city works close by, but a ghost town at night thus generally quiet after 5. Yes.. the bus is less than a block away, the train about a mile or so and the airport less than 15 minute drive! Check in is generally around 3 and check out is 11. There can be some flexibility depending on availability. please ask in advance

  • This is a no-frills air bnb - completely as described. The location is somewhat seedy, it's not in the most central part of downtown and is a bit industrial, however, it is very walk-able to downtown. The Trader Joe's & Whole Foods markets are literally right down the street. There is also a really cool bowling alley down the street. This isn't a luxury air bnb but it has everything you need for a pleasant stay. I would only mention that it is very loud at night. If you are an early to bed, early to rise type of person this may nit be your best option, however, with ear plugs it is manageable. The walls are very thin and the other tenants of the building seem to keep unorthodox hours. The room is right next to the front door and the opening and closing was frequent and audible throughout the night. The room is very private and has it's own separate entrance. Overall, we were here for a week and it was a good experience.

    Claudia2016-04-01T00:00:00Z
  • I had a great stay at John's apartment. It was the perfect location to walk wherever we wanted--just a couple blocks from Old Port. His listing mentioned some might consider the neighborhood sketchy, but I never felt unsafe or uneasy. I found everything John included in the listing to be true. The space was nice and clean, and exactly what we were looking for. The coffee was definitely a nice touch too! By far the best price around. There was a barking dog our last night (dog wasn't accustomed to city noise), but when I reached out to John about it, he reached out to the owners, and the issue was resolved. I'd definitely stay there again!

    Mary Elisabeth2016-04-16T00:00:00Z
  • The room, though small, was very clean and there was a binder with a map of the area and some suggestions for what to do nearby (restaurants and clubs, etc) that was very helpful and appreciated. Also, the neighborhood, though described as "transitional" was fine- I felt safe and comfortable the whole time. The room was stocked with coffee and towels and toiletries, etc, and it was quiet and comfortable. It was also very easy to check in (there was a lockbox so we didn't have to worry about coordinating with the host or what time we got in or anything). Altogether a very nice, simple, affordable choice.

    Maia2016-05-09T00:00:00Z
  • This is a good place to stay if you need a place to crash for the night. The reviews (and the listing itself) reference the "transitional" nature of the neighborhood, however, even as someone who comes to Portland very frequently, I found the location to be more sketchy than I anticipated. Had I been staying there alone I probably would have been a little nervous, especially walking back at night (though, in reality, it would have been fine). That being said, it's in a convenient location, Missy, the property manager, was really friendly and helpful, and the room was very clean. The location and the dorm-room nature of the rental mean that it's not the most comfortable for a multi-night stay, depending on what you're looking for, but it served its purpose for me!

    Kate 2016-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • This apartment was perfect for what we needed. Small, but so closely located to everything we wanted to go to in Portland! The coffee maker was a nice touch too!

    Katelyn2016-11-23T00:00:00Z
  • This place was great for us. We needed a small, cozy space to spend the night before we hit up the town! The instructions were clear, everything was set up for us as needed. They had a helpful binder of information of the city as well! For us, communication and expectation setting is what is really important for us! We received info after we booked and closer to when we were going to arrive. When we reached out, the response was quick, polite and helpful!

    Simon2016-06-14T00:00:00Z
  • John's place was perfect! How it is described is exactly how the place is, nothing over the top but everything you need to be comfortable. But the greatest part is the LOCATION, it is by everything!! We were able to ride our bikes all over Portland it was perfect, and when we wanted to walk we were still so close to everywhere we wanted to go. I highly recommend staying here if you are not looking for anywhere fancy to sleep and have more of a desire to be close to all the sites, food, and shops!

    Alicia 2017-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • I'm not sure the space is a legal... there are no fans in the bathroom. The pictures make the place look nicer than it is. The area is very noisy. "Transitional" neighborhood is a good substitute for seedy- there's a homeless shelter a block away. I definitely did not feel it was worth the amount of money he asked for.

  • Marissa was very accommodating with my late and constantly changing arrival time. The animals were fun and welcoming too, made me feel at home!

    Lara2017-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • The house was as described in the listing: clean and tidy. We stayed for one night. The cats and puppy are very friendly. The pets can be very active at night/in the middle of the night which if you are a light sleeper can keep you up. Overall, a good value.

  • Nice, clean room, with every detail accounted for and provided by Marissa and Jeffery! They have a great space and 4 wonderful pets! The cats were very friendly and sweet, and the pup was very energetic, but Jeffery was attentive and good about keeping him in check. We would definitely stay here again!

  • My boyfriend and I attended a wedding and stayed at Marissa's house for the night. Check in and check out were very easy and flexible. Their house wasn't far from the Old Port, so you can easily drive or Uber in. The bedroom was great and the bed was very comfortable. Their friendly cats were definitely a plus too!

Lovely private home in USM neighborhood close to downtown peninsula, public transportation, airport and highway. Ours is a smoke free and pet free home. Free on-street parking and breakfast available. Your room is one of three that share a bathroom.
  • The listing description was very accurate. Their home is in a beautiful neighborhood about 5-10 minutes from downtown Portland and close to the airport. This was my first experience with Airbnb and my experience could not have been better.

    Blaise2016-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • Loved my stay here, very close to downtown area and very nice interacting with the other guest. House is very clean and cozy. They provided a light breakfast for us in the morning. Bed slept great and bathroom was very nice.

  • Clorinda and Dick are friendly and wonderful hosts. This is a beautiful home on a quiet street where you will sleep very well.

    Brian2016-05-31T00:00:00Z
  • Enjoyed my stay at Clorinda and Dick's home. Their adorable house was a quick 15 minute drive from the waterfront, and the check in and out process was a breeze. Enjoyed the granola and homemade bread in the morning as well. Room was a little warm, but Clorinda opened the windows and set the fan up for me so it was cooled off when I got home from a night out with friends. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would definitely stay again.

    Rodger2016-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • I had a very short but wonderful stay at Clorinda and Dick's home. Unfortunately I missed Clorinda but Dick was there and made me feel very welcome and he accommodated my late arrival. My room was very comfortable and I woke up to coffee, homemade bread and homemade jam. I had a wonderful breakfast and chatted with Dick about Portland, his talented family, and their garden. Before I left, Dick let me borrow an umbrella and gave me some great site and food recommendations. Their home is very close to the airport and just a short and scenic walk away from downtown. I highly recommend that you stay here during your visit to Portland!

Gorgeous first floor apartment on Morning St in the East End of Portland, Maine. Quiet and peaceful environment. Short walk to the Eastern Promenade and to the Old Port. The unit is large and bright. Wood floors throughout. Private Double Bed Room with a shared bathroom. Plenty of street parking.
Guests share a “Jack and Jill” bathroom (two doors) with the other AirB&B guest room. An “Occupied Sign” under the door of the other guest is the unique system used, and seems to work! Please be prepared!
All of Munjoy Hill's wonderful neighborhood attractions are mere steps away—restaurants, coffee houses, bakeries, and a neighborhood market. Only a two minute walk to the ocean, and all the Eastern Promenade has to offer -- Casco Bay views, East End Beach, and walking trails. And, just a short walk down The Hill is the Old Port with dozens of charming cobblestone streets, award-winning restaurants and pubs!
  • I really wanted to enjoy my stay here, but the whole experience was so up tight it was hard to do so. The house was clean the check in was smooth and there are all the amenities that one would expect. First of all there are two rooms rented out here and they share a bathroom. For the price I thought no problem. My girlfriend got out of work we came back had dinner and decided to have a relaxing bath before bed, at about 10pm. Next morning we were awoken by the host informing us that it was irresponsible to have done so and that the people in the other room had complained and asked for a refund. The conversation dragged on and on and this was in the morning when I wanted to be sleeping or relaxing. After I woke up and she informed me that we would have some time before we had to check out. Have breakfast, shower, etc. However while I tried to enjoy my breakfast she told me to take my things out of my room and take care of the sheets...(that's why I payed a 10$ cleaning fee). After that I wanted to take a shower and she informed me that I had to leave because the other guests were coming back and she didn't want to deal with both of us at the same time. So I was rushed out of the room. With no time to get ready for the day and no time to relax. Highly disappointed overall, and is only a place suitable for people who are extraordinarily quiet and who go to bed at 7. Almost makes me never want to stay at airbnb again.

  • Elizabeth is a wonderful host! Her place is clean and comfy, and in a beautiful location close to the water. She provided many great restaurant recommendations all within walking distance, and was in general very helpful throughout my stay.

    Brian2017-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Elizabeth's place. She was an excellent hostess, very thoughtful. We were given great recommendations for local activities. Another perk about the location: it's a block off the water. The air is really fresh, the view down on the waterfront was wonderful. My co-visitor said, "This is all very Maine." So if you're looking for a "very Maine" experience, we'd highly recommend Elizabeth's place.

The bed and linens are also very comfortable. Overall a very nice stay for a good price! And Elizabeth was a wonderful host and super flexible with Check in as well. Would recommend your stay here when visiting Portland

  • Elizabeth is a lovely host, she's responsive, helpful, and has many recommendations for Portland. Her place is as described and very clean -- the shared bathroom was never an issue for me either. Giant four bedroom, two story home with two screen porches, big beautiful living room & dining room. This is a house share, but most people who rent are out exploring all day, so the house is usually very private & quiet. There are a ton of amazing restaurants, concert venues, and more fun close to us. We are located across the street from the USM, very close to the Old Port. 25 min walk/$5 Uber to center of town!
Your room is cozy and stocked with blankets, a dresser, and a desk. New comfy couch in the living room is perfect for lounging or watching movies- just plug your laptop into the cord and it pops right up! Kitchen is big and works well for preparing dinner! Enjoy yourself!
We are so close to everything awesome. Every Sunday the farmers market is right down the street, were a few minutes walk to amazing restaurants in town, and the East End Promenade is a beautiful place to go picnic. Our neighborhood itself is very quiet, but you're just a few minutes away from endless fun things to do.
  • Michaela was a great host! The house was great, and close to downtown (20 minute walk, or a short drive). The cats were also super cute and friendly. Michaela was great to work with and very communicative! If I ever come back to Portland, I would stay here again!

    Anne2016-05-19T00:00:00Z
  • Very quiet place and easy to get into town.

    Nina2017-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • Michaela has a very cozy house in nice area. The room was very comfortable and clean. Plus, she has adorable two cats! The house in easy-walking distance from downtown. I totally recommend!

    Anna2016-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Michaela's place for a week. I was working downtown, about a 30 minute walk or 5 minute drive from where we were staying. The house was large and comfortable -- we used the screened-in porch for dinner many nights. It was nice being in a quieter section of the city. It was great!

    Leah2017-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • The room was just as described, everyone was friendly and welcoming and overall we had a great stay. :)

    Shareefa2016-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • Close to town but still a decent walk (30-40 minutes). Cats are very friendly (front paw declawed) so be prepared for some extra roommates. Street parking readily available. Would rent again.

    Michael2017-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • Michaela was really nice and friendly! Her place was very cute and cozy. I felt like I was home. Her two cats were adorable too!

    Karen2016-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • I really enjoyed staying here- it was simple, clean and easy. The cats were fun to have around, too!

My place is near parks, nightlife and the city center but located in a quiet neighborhood. You can walk to everything. It's very small, but private and has a separate entrance. If you want to socialize with us you can, but you also have privacy too, The house was built in 1894, so the room/ bathroom are older and reflect that. I also provide a fridge for your use. Many guests ask about off-street parking. We have it available for 5$ per night.
Full size bed. Very comfortable double bed. The room is small!! Electric heaters are available for your use to supplement the heat. Did I say the room was small? Its small but really comfortable.
The West End is primarily residential, with apartments and single family homes. It is very safe. There are nearby convenience stores, markets and laundry mats. The hospitals are both a ten minute walk away.
  • The advertisement was accurate in that is was a small room. If you just need a place to crash, this is for you. The hosts were very nice and helpful.

  • This is a great place to stay, while in Portland. Within walking distance to the best restaurants and night life. I will definitely be coming back. Dennis gave us great recommendations for places to go. He is friendly and replies quickly to texts. The room is just as described, cozy and comfortable. The many reviews that he has on his page are there for a reason check this place out.

  • Had a great stay in Portland. Excellent value, great location, the accommodations were accurately listed and the reviews from others are exactly what I would say so...enjoy!

    Alisa2017-06-28T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic stay. Chip was full of information for great local places to eat and drink as well as a lay of the land. He was also very quick anytime I may've needed something in the room. He even gave me a ride to the airport when I was leaving! Great guy, great location. I would recommend staying at his place anytime you're in the Portland area.

    Matthew2017-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • Stay here and you will be within walking distance of everything or get a cheap Lyft, which seemed more popular than Uber. The room and bathroom are clean and comfortable and the perfect location for Portland. If I was to come back to Portland I'm definitely coming back to Heather and Chip's.

  • This is a great place to stay for a weekend trip! It was only about a $5 uber to the downtown area, but there were bars, shops, and food well within walking distance. The room is small, but can fit 2 people comfortably. Host is wonderful and welcoming! Will definitely stay again next time I visit Portland.

  • Wonderful place to stay if you are trying to see Portland! This studio apartment was beautifully kept and had a lot of urban character inside with the exposed brick and wood rafters. The space was very accurately represented via the website and Tom was very easy to contact. The location was good too. Right in downtown and walkable to the old port district, which was where we spent most of our time. All in all, it was a perfect fit and made our already enjoyable Portland experience even more perfect. If you are considering staying here, just book it. You won't regret it.

    Patrick 2017-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • My husband, pup and I had an awesome time. Perfect location. Super cozy/cool/rustic place. We all loved it! Thanks for allowing pups!

    Kristen2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great apartment that not only functions well but is stylishly appointed with quality furniture and appliances. Having the free parking across the street was a real benefit. We never had to use the car once because of the central location. A perfect base for your Portland experience. A super cafe just around the corner on Congress St.

    Robert2017-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • This place is awesome. Renovation and appointments in this loft are A+. The only drawback is the steep metal stairway access on the 2nd, which could be a problem in winter and for those with some heavy luggage (us). The neighborhood is fantastic...fun shopping, art galleries, the museum, pubs, bistros - all just a short walk. LOVED IT!!!!

    Christine2017-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • Had an enjoyable stay in Portland at Tom's studio apartment! Location was great for walking all around, never had to take the car out of the convenient lot across the street. Tom was very prompt with responding to any inquiries and self check-in and out was super easy. Apartment had all the necessary amenities (and then some) and was well kept. Fantastic place to stay for couples who want complete privacy. If ever back in Portland would definitely stay again!

    Michael2017-06-27T00:00:00Z
  • This place was very tidy, and the location was awesome. Close enough to walk to the art museums, all the great restaurants and the ferries. I would love to stay at this place again when I come back to Portland.

Cozy and quiet private studio apartment with private bathroom in the Libbytown area of Portland, Maine. Walking distance to Thompson's Point, that houses a wine, beer and distillery tasting rooms as well as concerts, events and circus school. It is conveniently located close to 295 and 95. It is a 5 minute drive and 30 min walk to the Old Port. 15 min drive to various beaches. Although, not in the Old Port, it is very close! It is a great getaway for two!
This is a private space on the third floor. It has a full private bathroom, fridge, sink, single use coffee maker, cook top, kitchen table. A lot like a hotel room.
The neighborhood is very inviting and safe. There is plenty of roads to walk that are safe and free of a lot of traffic. There is also a park 4 streets away with a public pool.
  • Amber's place was everything we expected and more! She greeted us with a warm smile and offered her help with anything we needed. Her space was very accomodating, complete with all the amenities; even a hot plate for a quick meal! We would happily book again! Would recommend! 5 stars!

    Zachary2017-06-07T00:00:00Z
  • Amber's place is amazing! It's very close to downtown Portland! The space was clean. She was great at communicating! We loved Portland so much, we decided to stay a few extra days and we stayed with Amber another night!

  • Perfect spot for my gf and i celebrating her birthday. Check in was perfect. There was a very good breakfast nook within walking distance and downtown was literally 3 minutes away (driving)

  • Great location in an awesome neighborhood! Lots of cool spots to grab some local brews and great food. Amber's place was super comfortable. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to explore Portland.

    Nicole2017-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • Amber's place was lovely! It's an attic space, so keep that in mind. She had basically everything you'd need there! It's only a few minutes from Bissell Brothers brewery and the whole complex down there, and very close to old port. Would absolutely stay again!

    Richard2017-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • I liked the fact that my late arrival (late in the evening) wouldn’t pose an issue. I was able to access the apartment and when I had a question concerning parking, Amber was quick to respond.

This is a newly renovated apartment on the 2nd floor of my building and is above an existing Airbnb unit that has been a great hit for the past year and holds a 4.5 star rating w/ over 120 reviews! It's in walking distance to everything Portland has to offer! It's an older building and has a lot character!
As old as the building is, the 2nd floor sags to the left when you first walk in and levels out to the center of the room and the 3rd floor bedrooms are level. We recycle in the entryway hallway, so you will see the bins when you walk in.
It's a safe neighborhood, with the Maine's largest hospital 200 yards up the street and the city's largest park 200 yards down the street.
  • As expected from other reviews. Great for a quick stay. It was a short walk to major Portland highlights (like the Holy Donut). Check-in was a breeze.

    Maura2017-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful spot in Portland, Maine. Spacious and comfy for three adults traveling together. Host is excellent communicator and was flexible with us when some weather conditions forced us to delay our stay by 24 hours.

    Denise2017-11-01T00:00:00Z
  • Nicks apartment was in a good location, about an 8 minute uber ride to the downtown area. There were 6 adults and I would say it was a little too small for that many people, but the pictures were accurate. Cute outdoor deck was a nice addition. Overall would recommend.

    Meghan2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • We stopped in Portland on a whim and Nick and Sarah made the experience a total joy! They respond lightening fast, and couldn’t have been more helpful. The space is great. Beds are comfy, and the common spaces are well-kept and cozy! The location couldn’t be better. Thanks for hosting us, Nick and Sarah!!

    Chelsea2017-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • Great spot with a convenient walk to old port area.

    Ryan2017-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Check in was easy! Nick was very communicative on the day of check in. We had guests who arrived late on Friday and left very early Sunday morning; we were able to come and go easily. We had one rental car that we were also able to park in the driveway, off the street. The apartment has a bunch of new furniture (like couches!) making it a cozy place to stay. Our favorite part of staying here was that it was so close to Tandem Coffee! We walked there the first morning and got coffee on our way out of town the second morning. The apartment was very clean when we arrived. The only thing we did notice was that the master bedroom smelled a bit like smoke. I think Nick has done the best he can to clean the unit of the remnant smell, but this is something you may want to consider if you have a sensitive nose.

    Rachel2017-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect for what we needed.

    Evan2017-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • My childhood friend (of 50 years) and I enjoyed staying one night in Portland and Nick's apartment worked out well. It was clean, beds were comfortable and we had a nice ten minute walk to an excellent Thai restaurant (recommended by Nick's wife, Sara). All in all a good first Airbnb experience for us!

  • My friend and I stayed overnight at Laura's place and were very grateful for the courteous and welcoming reception we were given. Everything was quaint, tasteful, comfortable and clean. We were never pestered in any way and were offered our choice in breakfast options, from which there were many. The adorable dog's presence was an added bonus! I would recommend the place to anyone. A big thank you from me to Laura and her cousin for making my first trip to Maine such a memorable and comfortable experience!

  • Ken's place is more welcoming than a luxury hotel. It is immaculately clean, comfortable and everything about it is high quality. Add to it, Ken is a very personable guy and available anytime of day for assistance. It is the example for all others to follow!

    Defei2017-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Ken's apartment in Portland was exactly as we expected. The space is beautifully renovated and very well maintained. Upon arrival, Ken greeted us personally and gave us a tour. He has added so many extra touches such as toiletries, coffee, and snacks which was such a nice surprise. The morning we were expected to leave, we got a taste of a true Portland winter. Ken was extremely flexible with our checkout time and we didn't feel rushed to get on the road and drive in the snow. He even offered to bring us breakfast knowing we wouldn't be able to venture out in the snowy conditions! When we felt comfortable getting on the road and heading out he shoveled and plowed the driveway ensuring we left safely. I would definitely look to stay at Ken's place again on my next trip to Portland!

    Rebecca2015-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Ken/Alex This is hard due to the facts of your Hospitality! Arriving to your place was easy and more wonderful arriving home, yes that's how it is my experience! Your personal welcoming and introduction with the view started a warm feeling of a good time! From arrival to a very modern keyless doors made me worry's free due to the fact that keys get left any place! Entering the apartment felt just like home, the amenities and specific tailored finishing of the place has been done with expensive glamour! The unique taste and clean environment is my kind of place that I recommend and very worth the price! The extras such as Keurig coffee machine plus the snacks included with the package at no extra cost means that your concern to a great experience of the guests means more to you! Not to mention a full operational kitchen with the high end appliances that make it more easy! Bathroom is another important aspect of a place with more than the 2 usual towels that we all know in other places is the usual trade, not to mention the complementary shower gel, shampoo, body lotion!!!! Full washer and dryer that gives you the freedom incase of any accidents! Living rooms, bedrooms accommodation is perfect!!! All I can say is that I travel all over and the enjoyment at your property is AAA+.... Thanks see you soon..... Una de las mejores experiencias que he tenido en mi vida, El apartamento es sencillamente impecable, como si lo hubiera diseñado yo mismo. Lo mejor de lo mejor.

  • I cannot imagine a better host than Ralph. He picked us up at the train station quite late (due to some awful Amtrak delays) and was elated to get to know us and understand what we would most enjoy seeing around Portland. His recommendations were fantastic, and he even offered to drive us to an event we had considered attending that was a little out of town. The apartment itself is wonderful, with a nice combination of rustic charm and modern simplicity. It's also well stocked, with extra shampoo, an iPhone charger, and even two frozen pizzas I found hidden away in the freezer. Everything we wanted to do was well within walking distance. In fact, there was a Greek festival going on across the street with wonderful music and dancing in the streets all day. I couldn't recommend staying here more, I know I will be if (hopefully when) I visit Portland again!

  • This was a terrific experience! Ralph's apartment is in the heart of everything. It's a beautiful place. Ralph is a wonderful, friendly host. We look forward to starting in one of his places the next time we're in town.

  • Our experience in Portland was wonderful. It all started with our gracious host Ralph who was everything you could ask for. His apartment was lovely and the location is ideal. Quiet and charming and still close to everything by foot. It appears that Ralph thought of every possible scenario and his amenities reflected that. Again, just a delightful trip. Thanks Ralph!

    Andrew2016-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Ralph was a great host again (second time staying here). The location was perfect with an easy walk to downtown and some great eats right around the corner. Beautiful apartment with all the amenities you would expect from a nice hotel, plus what you would find in a fully furnished apartment.

  • Ralph was a great host and warmly welcomed us and gave great info and tips on the Portland area. Loved his place and it's in a fabulous location. Highly recommend!

  • Ralph was incredible welcoming and responsive and made the whole process easy from start to finish. The apartment was as described, quaint, clean and in a perfect location. I would totally recommend it to anyone!

  • Felt very welcome, this was the best airbnb experience that we have ever had! The apartment was beautiful, amazing view, comfy and cozy, we felt like we were at home! Loved visiting Portland, Maine and this apartment really made our trip 1000 times better

    karen2016-03-31T00:00:00Z
  • Ralph and his apartment were fantastic. I was with a large group, and he was very responsive and accommodating, and let us check in early the morning we arrived to Portland when it turned out there were no guests renting the night before, which was a huge help to us. He had champagne waiting to celebrate my sister's bachelorette party! The apartment was clean, beautiful, and very comfortable. We would definitely come again.

  • Kris and Cindy were very friendly hosts. Their apartment was charming, and in walking distance of some really cute restaurants and shops. Their neighborhood is awesome and you can tell they love Portland and enjoy sharing it with others. Thanks for a good stay!

    Dustin2016-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was amazing--the apartment is adorable and in a fabulous location! Would definitely stay again!

    Megan2016-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • Kris and Cindy were wonderful hosts! We were lucky enough to meet both of them and they are really sweet people. The apartment was perfect! It truly was charming. It was very tidy, spacious and had everything you could need. The neighborhood was probably the best neighborhood in all of Portland, it was safe and really cute. Kris and Cindy's apartment is filled with beautiful art and has a very dainty look to it. They had fresh flowers in the living room when we got there and it was a really welcoming experience. My favorite part was listening to the beautiful sounds of their wind chime outside the bedroom window. Aside from the listing itself, upon telling Kris and Cindy our interests for our Portland vacation, they didn't hesitate to give us a long list of amazing places to check out during our time there. To take the time to give us a detailed list was so kind of them! I'm beyond happy with our stay here and glad it went so perfectly!!

    Catina2015-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment was exactly as it appeared in photos, very clean and a great location in a neighborhood that was very safe. Everything is walkable from the apartment however note if you are not used to walking at all it may be a little longer of a walk than anticipated (as New Yorkers this was not a problem for us). Note there are some parts of Portland that we would not recommend walking around but they are far from this apartment's location and we were probably a bit over eager in where we walked. Had a wonderful experience in the apartment and give it five stars, the hosts could not have been more welcoming or more lovely. Thank you again!

    Hallie2016-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Kris and Cindy's could not have been better. Excellent location near everything, in a quiet, private and lovely apartment. Attention to detail was evident throughout and we especially appreciated the coffee and condiments left for our use! Thanks for your hospitality...we hope to visit again soon! Tim & Nancy

    Nancy2016-06-15T00:00:00Z
  • Kris and Cindy's place is absolutely charming. It was clean and spacious, and they were such helpful hosts, making lots of suggestions for food and activities that all turned out to be great! The location was a short walking distance from everything that we set out to do. I highly recommend staying here!

    Charming West End Victorian
    112 reviews
Private apartment in a 1900 New England Colonial with some modern flair. Located between The West end and Thompson's Point in The Valley neighborhood, home of Salvage BBQ (& live music), Bunker Brewery & The Sea Dogs. Ideal location for those who want to be central to all that Portland has to offer from a local, non touristy perspective.
Cozy, inviting and spacious private apartment: There is 1 bedroom with a comfy double platform bed, a living/dining area with a sofa bed that opens to a queen with memory foam mattress and 1 bonus room with a new twin bed. So in all there is sleeping space for 5. The apartment also has new appliances in a fully equipped kitchen if you prefer to forego the AMAZING cuisine of Portland and cook a cozy meal in your apartment. The bathroom has a small claw foot tub/shower combo (so very Maine). Ample, free on-street parking. * This is a non-smoking building, strictly enforced. *Well behaved non-shedding, hypoallergenic dog welcome for an additional $10 per night collected at time of check in. All pets must be pre-approved.
The Valley is an eclectic neighborhood where you can find Bunker Brewery, Salvage bbq & live music & the Sea Dogs stadium. Its a mixed residential/business neighborhood within a 15 min. walk you can get to downtown/the arts district, the newly fab. Thompson's point offering riverside summer concerts & winter ice skating with beer hut & fire pit along with a fancy winery, brewery, food trucks and more! Deering Oaks park, THE HOLY DONUT & Tandem Bakery are also a 15 min. walk away. Zip on and off I-295 to beaches, Freeport etc. but not to worry, you cannot see or hear the highway from the apartment. :) Located 3/4 of a mile from the Arts District and 1 mile beyond that to the Old Port via Downtown. Easily drive, taxi, bus or (my favorite) walk or bike... I highly recommend exploring Portland & the nearby beaches via bike.
  • Had a great time in Portland! Loved that the apartment was within walking distance of downtown. The decoration was cute and cozy. Chaning was flexible with the check in when we got delayed on our way into town. I would stay here again.

    Greg2013-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • My three friends and I stayed at this charming apartment during our stay in Portland, ME this past July. We were very impressed with how clean and warm the apartment was. Channing was very easy to communicate with and she always responded to my messages/texts almost immediately. She also provided all the necessities for our trip (towels, fresh linens, a well-stocked kitchen cabinet, and extra blankets), which we were so thankful for! The apartment literally looked just like the pictures and is in such a great location--it was so close to everything we wanted to do in Portland including going into downtown, visiting lighthouses, and frequenting Fisherman's Grill and Eventide (amongst many other good eats in the area). The bed and pillows of the larger room were also incredibly comfortable. The apartment definitely fits four people pretty comfortably, but probably no more than four. Thank you again, Channing, for a wonderful experience!

    Lyanne2014-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • We attended an event at Thompson's point, and Central Urban Suite was a perfect location for that - just a few minutes walk. We enjoyed our stay; the apartment was pleasant and clean; Chaning was very accommodating, and we found some Holy Donuts waiting for us upon arrival! The neighborhood is quite a bit outside of old Portland very close to I-295. The house is on Congress street which is a very busy street. There is definitely traffic noise through the night, and if you are not used to it, it may keep you awake.

    Sabrina2014-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • Chaning was an excellent host for our stay in Portland. Although we know the area well, she was able to give us advice on local parks for our young daughter. As Chaning lived next door, she was easily available for questions or inquiries. The apartment was stocked with basic supplies to get us started (like spices, dish soap and toilet paper) and was very clean and charmingly decorated. A great location right off of 295 with easy access to downtown Portland. The apartment is cosy and small, yet perfect for a small family. Our young daughter slept comfortably in the single room off the kitchen and we could relax in the living room and cook dinner in the well-supplied kitchen. Although there is little closet space in the apartment, there were dressers to keep one's clothes. Overall, a kind and responsive host, a clean apartment and a great stay in Portland.

    Amber2014-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • Chaning greeted us when we arrived and was very friendly. We chatted for a while as she showed us around the apartment. The place was very nice & clean. It was very easy getting around using Chaning's place as "home base".

    June2017-04-24T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay! We needed a room on short notice. The booking, arrival, and departure was super smooth. Comfy and nice accommodations, and an overall great experience.

    Courtney2012-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment was spacious, clean, and well equipped with everything you might need and more! The check in and check out process were a breeze, and Chaning was easy to communicate with and prompt in her responses. The location is excellent- although it is not in the center of the Port area, it is right next to the freeway making it easy to get to and from all over the Portland area. Would definitely recommend this place if you find yourself in the area!

    Amber2015-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • Chaning was a wonderful host! This was my first time using this site and I had a great first experience because of her responsiveness to my questions. Her place was clean and very cozy...perfect for our weekend stay. She even gave us suggestions for places to visit during our stay. I definitely recommend staying at her place!

  • This place is absolutely wonderful. It's in a lovely area of Portland close by to everything. We had a large group stay in all three apartments and each is beautifully laid out with it's own kitchen and bathroom. It's clean and inviting and Corey has put in a lot of nice touches that make it feel very home-y. The backyard in particular, with its grill and fire pit are especially nice. Corey was easy to deal with and communicative about everything. Highly recommend a stay.

    Matt2017-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • What a perfect location and place. Lovely character, incredibly clean, and great backyard. A peaceful and central location for our business trip.

  • Corey's 3-level apartment complex was PERFECT for our bachelorette party of 16 ladies. The outdoor space, as well as the flexibility to hang on multiple different floors was the highlight of our experience in Portland. With such a large group it can sometimes be difficult to navigate and fit anywhere, but this apartment gave us ample space - totally comfortable. The pictures are exactly what you get and everything was perfectly clean. Corey also provided bathroom amenities and had plenty of dishware to use in the kitchen. When checking in, I had accidentally forgot to print out my check-in instructions, and Corey was available right away to resend them to me and point me in the right direction. Thank you!!

2 Bedroom Loft Apartment Sleeps 4
RE-FRESHED and Painted in 2017! Close to everything, Portland's east end is the hottest neighborhood in town. Steps from parks and a few blocks from the ocean, excellent dining and shopping this apartment offers the perfect alternative to a hotel. In a century old victorian, this 3rd floor loft style apartment features two bedrooms, living/dining, a small updated kitchen, tiled bathroom. Fully furnished , we have everything you need for a comfortable stay. Special requests? No problem. Please note: This apartment is suitable for those looking for a quiet stay (couples, families, etc)--I very rarely have problems with guests, but the occasional noisy group can disturb the neighbors. Thank you for considering this when booking. Weekly rate: $1000 This apartment has two bedrooms, each with a queen size bed.
  • Very nicely furnished. Nice neighborhood. Would have appreciated information about secure parking (parking at house was always taken) and about garbage (since we are from abroad, had now idea, how it works here) - little note on table would have been enough (we didn't want to call Roy every time there was a problem). Kitchen was not very clean, unfortunately. Would recommend apartment to friends.

  • The location of this apartment was great. Easy to access, easy parking right in front, 15-20 minute walk to downtown. Spacious and comfortable. However, The roof terrace is not as attractive as in the picture. Good place to stay for a short stay in Portland. Thank you for letting us rent the place. Cheers!

  • Andrew's apartment was a perfect spot for my fiance and I's long weekend in Portland. We arrived early in the day, 1 or 2pm, and the keys were waiting for us. The apartment was spacious and clean, with a nice large kitchen and sunny roof deck. My only complaint, and it's minor, is that it got to be pretty hot and dry in the apartment, though it didn't detract much from the overall experience. The apartment location is excellent - 15-20 minute walk to Old Port, and just a short walk to Congress street and great local spots like the Blue Spoon (restaurant) and Hilltop Coffee Shop. We also walked down the Eastern Promenade and beach, which wasn't very far at all. All in all, this is an excellent, affordable place to stay in Portland. When I come back, I'll look to stay here first!

    Evan2014-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing condo in a perfect location! We absolutely love the space and the convenience offered in Andrew's place. A truly enjoyable stay in Portland!

    Yan2015-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • I can't say enough good things about our stay at Andrew's charming Portland apartment. It's perfectly located near enough all the attractions in the old port, but far enough away that you can relax and get a really restful night sleep... We made ourselves at home and imagined we were living in Portland for a few days. The apartment itself is so perfectly appointed and decorated that my wife and I have been inspired to redecorate our own place with some of the styling cues from Andrew's place :) Andrew was really helpful in getting us set up - meeting us with the key and making recommendations for attractions with a local's insight. Then he left us on our own for a relaxing three night stay. For the little time we spent together, I could tell he's a really genuine guy who's interested in making sure you have a perfect stay. I'm sure we'll be back soon enough.

  • Agree with the others, we had an awesome stay (wish we could have spent more time in Portland) and thoroughly enjoyed this cozy apartment. It happened to be wet/rainy for part of our trip but the fireplace (not pictured in the photos, must have been added later) was warm and toasty, and the washer/dryer in-house could not be more convenient. Above and beyond other airbnb apts we've stayed at: space-o-plenty for two, speedy wireless internet, cable TV, washer/dryer.

  • This details in this penthouse are exquisite. The space is bright, organized, cozy and immaculate. Walking in to the penthouse we were greeted by gorgeous plants and funky statues nestled into the brick walls. Taking a shower was an experience all it itself. The beautiful pebbled floor was a delight for tired feet from walking through town all day, and the green tile was calming and fresh. The storage and kitchen design was so clever and usable. Having off-street parking was such a treat during the New Year holiday, we never took our car out of the lot once we arrived as we easily walked to all the popular destinations. We could not have asked for a more perfect location, centrally located amid hip Portland spots, yet quiet and peaceful. The Irish pub across the street was no trouble at all, even on New Year's Eve. Communication with the host was easy, clear and positive. Without a doubt we would like to return to this penthouse and recommend it highly to visitors of Portland, BUT not during the times we hope to be there! ;).

  • Beautiful penthouse apartment in perfect location to explore Portland's Old Port. Great communication before and during our stay, easy parking and arrival. Apartment is well decorated and spotlessly clean for our stay! Spectacular views of the surrounding city, with lots of light! Amazing spot for our getaway weekend!

    Kelley2017-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • This apartment is truly lovely. I cannot tell you how special this place it. It feels like an oasis in the middle of Portland. Walking distance from everything that you want to do, a well appointed kitchen, light filled spaces with small details, that are well thought out. The downside however is the bar across the street. The noise here is no joke. We stayed two nights, Monday and Tuesday. Monday night was loud pounding bass and bar noise until 1 am. Tuesday night was quiet, with just typical bar type noise, and people having fun. Bring ear plugs, or plan to stay out late if you are going to be there when the bar may be rocking.

Yet it is tucked in on a quiet street sheltered from the hustle and bustle of the city. Coffee By Design, Lois Natural Foods, The Portland Food Co-op, Two Fat Cats Bakery, Otto's Pizza, Silly's Restaurant, and the new Ramen Suzukiya are just minutes away on foot. Trader Joe's and Whole Foods are both a short drive away or 15 minute walk. • This is an incredible place. The location is perfect for getting up to the Munjoy Hill neighborhood and Eastern Promenade, or heading downtown to the Old Port. It's a comfortable apartment from which to take off on a tour of town. The hosts give great recommendations if you want suggestions on where to eat. Check-in and check-out are a breeze, and the hosts make themselves available if you need them. I highly recommend staying here on your next trip to Portland.

  • Cute apartment and very nice hosts, check in and out were a piece of cake. Loved the neighborhood and Jon and Colleen's suggestions. We had a little trouble with the heat but they straightened it out instantly. Highly recommend!

  • Everything was perfect here! Easy access and great location. We only stayed here for 1 night, but we are looking forward to coming back again. The apartment was clean and nicely decorated, with all the amenities you'd need.

  • Enjoyed the stay, centrally located near breweries and restaurants, place was clean and coffee and snacks were provided that I appreciated

    Chris2016-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect location and a very short walk to restaurants, shops and the waterfront. The condo is very spacious and well appointed with a full kitchen. There were so many thoughtful touches through the condo such as complimentary candy, a keurig, shampoo and an array of menus from different restaurants. The street also seemed pretty quiet for being right downtown. Check-in and check-out process were very easy as well. Definitely the best air b&b I have experienced in Portland!

    Carlin2017-06-09T00:00:00Z
  • Place was great and felt very comfortable. Would recommend to anyone heading into Portland with 2+ people

  • Great location close to bars, restaurants, ferry, breweries, etc - really can't ask for anything better in this regard. Hosts were extremely communicative and helpful - they even left us a few bottles of wine and various treats and snacks to make our stay even better. 10/10 overall.

    CHEERFUL EAST END APARTMENT
    127 reviews
A comfortable room in a house located near the arts district, many restaurants, cafes, bars and interesting shops. It is a short and fun walk to the Old Port. Shares large full bath and half bath with another room rented on Airbnb as well. Brand new mattress as of July 2016!
This space is a bedroom that has one queen sized bed and shares a bathroom with a studio apartment next door. The door to the room has a lock on it. Bathroom: The full bathroom is shared with the adjoining studio apartment (also for rent on Airbnb). The bathroom is “Jack and Jill” style, which means that there are two doors. This allows for guests in both rooms to access the bathroom without having to enter “public” space. Both doors have locks on them. Please remember to unlock both doors when you leave the bathroom so as not to lock the other guests out! There is a also powder room below the stairs for all guests' (website hidden): The TV is connected to an over-the-air antennae and receives many local stations. There is also a Roku connects to it where you can find many free channels or to Amazon to rent a movie. You can also log into your own Netflix. To log out of it, you will need to choose “Option” and “Delete Channel”. Mini Kitchen - The room also has an arm chair, a small fold-down table for coffee or laptops, a mini-fridge, microwave, coffee maker, tea kettle and toaster. Coffee, coffee filters and tea, sugar and cream are provided. There are also a few wine glasses, coffee mugs, spoons, forks, paper plates and a cork screw / bottle opener available for your use. Hair Dryer: You will find a hair dryer in one of the drawers below the TV. Storage Space: You may use the drawers below the TV as well as the closet behind the arm chair. There should be several hangers in there for your use. If you need more, please let us know. Linens & Towels: The sheets on the bed are clean and there should be clean towels in your room for you use. There are a few blankets in the closet should you need them. Tourist Info: Tons of brochures and maps are in one of the drawers below the coffee maker as well. Feel free to take and / or leave what you want. Temperature control: In the summer months, an air conditioner is installed in the window for your use. In early autumn, we leave a small space heater that you should feel free to use. Once the weather has turned cold enough to get the radiant heat system cranked up, the room should be quite cozy. If it is too stuffy, please feel free to crack the window for your comfort. Please close it before leaving as the thermostat is right outside of your room and it might cause the heater to work over time. Parking - Depending on the season, we have different parking arrangements for our guests. Most of the year, we are happy to share our driveway with guests. During extremely snowy/ icy months (January and February), we cannot allow people to use our driveway as it is too dangerous for them and their vehicles. If this is the case, we will do our best to help you find parking. During the summer, (July and August) renters in the guest room will be given a key card to park at the parking garage at the end of our street. It is located next to the Westin Hotel. The card gives you entrance and exit any time. You may park anywhere there is not a "reserved" sign. All Guests agree to indemnify and hold the Property Owners harmless from any liability for personal injury or property damage sustained by Guest or parties invited onto the property by Guest.
Our street is beautifully tree lined, friendly and in an historic district. We are walking distance to many great eateries and drinkeries (how is that for a new word?) We are also very close to several music venues and walking distance from the Old Port.
  • We had a great time staying in this charming house. We easily found street parking on a Thursday evening (though Barbara and Robert can also provide a spot as detailed in the listing). Barbara and Robert had given us the code to gain access to the house, so we didn't have to wait or exchange a bunch of phone calls day-of, which was nice since we were driving from out-of-state. The area is very convenient to many restaurants and bars, so it was fun walking around and exploring. The bed was extremely comfortable, and we slept well without any disturbance from noise from the street or rest of the house. The shared bathroom and multiple locks thing is not a big deal at all, so don't let that scare you off!

  • My boyfriend and had a long weekend in Portland and our stay with Robert was great. The house is on a beautiful street walking distance to lots of great food and bar options, and just a short walk to Old Port. Robert gave us good tips on where to eat. Go to Hot Suppa for their awesome brunch! The room was very private super comfortable, quiet, and clean. The bed was dreamy. Slept like a rock! Thanks Robert!

  • This brownstone really is in a great location! We loved using this spot as a jumping off point for our Portland adventures. The room and shared bathroom were clean and cozy. It would be fun to rent both bedrooms with another couple. Already looking forward to our next visit to Portland!

  • Great little room! We were in town for a wedding and the location was perfect for our stay. We had everything we needed and appreciated all of the extra touches provided by the hosts; toiletry baskets, coffee and coffee maker in the room, etc. We would recommend it and would stay again if your travels take us back to Maine in the future! We did not meet our hosts as we were not in the home much with all of the wedding festivities.

    Tommy2014-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • The guest room is in a beautiful old building on a lovely street in Portland. Barbara greeted us when we arrived and warmly gave us many recommendations for our stay. The apartment was exceptionally clean and the bed was comfortable. Highly recommended, especially for the VERY reasonable price.

  • Barbara and Robert are very good host, the room is very neat and cozy. they give us very elaborate instruction of living with them and enough parking space even my car is a little longer. the location is very so good, there are many fabulous restaurants in this district, especially some Asian restaurants. if you want to explore downtown Portland and live in a convenient place, you definitely should choice Barbara and Robert's home!

We have created a custom local West End guide that includes our favorite haunts for you to peruse upon arrival. The West End is a very friendly, safe neighborhood. Don't hesitate to say hi! The location is close to the old port shops, art galleries and the city's many restaurants, yet it's located in Portland's historic district, one of the safest and most beautiful areas in the city. Walking distance to Mercy Hospital and Maine Medical Center and a short drive to the Maine College of Art and the University of Southern Maine. There is a wonderful boutique coffee shop (Omi’s) just a 3-minute walk away, as well as the beautiful Harborview Park which overlooks the Portland Waterfront. It is a 3-minute walk to a curated neighborhood market and restaurant called Little Giant where you can buy fine wines/beer, sandwiches, pastries, and other sundries. The restaurant serves continental European cuisine. A 10-minute walk will bring you to Rosemont market where you will find groceries, local organic produce, wine/beer, and sandwiches. A juice bar (Farm Truck Juice) is right next door to Rosemont, serving organic cold-pressed juices. Want some pizza? Try Bonobo pizza right across the street from Rosemont serving wood fired pizza and local beer. Want to visit one of Portland’s oldest bars? Head over to Ruski’s…it’s just a 2-minute walk. You’ll find a local crowd here with pub-style food and friendly service. The Danforth Inn is just a few minutes walk away and boasts some of the finest dining and cocktails in Portland. Go here and at least have a drink in the bar; you will not be disappointed. One last thing...if you love breakfast sandwiches, walk a few blocks over to Ohno Cafe and try one of their award-winning sandwiches.
  • Great location & great apartment that has been thoughtfully updated.

  • Spacious, clean and great city center location. Great communication from the host.

  • This place was EXACTLY what I needed. A charming, lovely, and warm space that was perfect for the quiet I needed but also close enough to many things when I wanted to be out. The bed was super comfortable, I often just sat in the kitchen under the skylights, and Jason was a dream to communicate with. I cannot recommend it highly enough and will absolutely be back. I kinda wish I could live there year round!

    Christmas2017-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • The description and the pictures are accurate. The place is in the West End of Portland and really close to a whole bunch of bars and restaurants. The queen beds are really comfortable. Great host. Great place. Overall an amazing stay.

    Stephen2017-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • Portland is a great eatable and walkable city and Jason’s place is in a great spot to walk back from deliciousness. The beds are extremely comfortable appointed with high quality linens and pillow. Netflix/SlingTv is a major perk as is having a full kitchen/dining area. Nice touches throughout and local tips. Jason is extremely responsive and helpful. You will not be disappointed staying here.

  • Fantastic location in downtown Portland. Kevin was responsive and made our first airbnb stay great. He provided us with all the necessary information so there was no need to contact him during our stay. As a bonus, Kevin provided museum passes, which turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip.

    Edward2015-11-23T00:00:00Z
  • The perfect location to enjoy downtown Portland. Especially of you are doing the first Friday art walk. Kevin was a very hospitable host. It was a very professional and pleasure experience.

    Justin2016-04-04T00:00:00Z
  • Great proximity to everything. No need to even get in your car.

    Sarah2017-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Kevin's place on a winter weekend, which made us appreciate how close it was to downtown even more. We walked around for most of the weekend and never had to go too far. It was great to have free reserved parking so we didn't have to worry about that at all. The apartment has the bare necessities, but not much more. Kitchen is fully applianced, but not having any cooking utensils was a bummer. Check-in/ check-out was easy, and if you're looking for a cheap place to stay close to town, it definitely fits the bill.

    Thomas2017-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Great location. Lovely apartment. Highly recommended!

    Seth2015-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • Kevin provides a great place to stay in Portland. The apartment is located in a nice neighborhood with private parking, only a few blocks from all the action. I would definitely recommend looking into this place if you are visiting Portland.

    Matthew2015-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • The place was very comfortable and convenient to the arena which we made plans for a convention the weekend we were there. Some nice restaurants nearby altho we didnt go since the kitchen had pretty much everything we needed for cooking while there... we did our food shopping at trader joes.... Its on the 4th floor so be aware of the walk up.. (pack light or just take your time getting up there... i recommend the back stairs which I think made it easier to carry my luggage) ... building is Smoke free as many other areas in Portland (great for the health conscious ) .. the weather was unseasonably chilly (URL HIDDEN) it seemed...while there; not sure if the heat stops by a certain time of year .. so we made due with the extra quilts in the apartment to keep warm...parking available although we didn't use it...easy to get to by public transportation since we traveled to and from portland via amtrak and concord bus...we walked took the bus or ubered... The arrival and departure arrangement I found to be very organized and convenient...would definitely recommend or consider staying again on a return stay in Portland...

This is an exciting time to visit Portland, Maine! Our fair city is attracting visitors from all over the world eager to explore our waterfront and islands, art + music scene, craft beer revival and farm-to-table food movement. Our studio is perfectly located to access all that Portland has to offer. It is located at the top of Munjoy Hill, and within short walking distance of many amazing restaurants, coffee shops, food markets, art galleries and local breweries. Downtown Portland is less than 20 minutes by foot. The Eastern Promenade, located at the tip of the Peninsula overlooking Casco Bay with superb ocean views, is just a 7 minute walk from our studio. The East End beach, located at the bottom of the Prom, has a boat launch area and is an easy place to rent kayaks and paddle boards.
  • This little apartment was fantastic, and just what we needed for a day in Portland. It was adorable and full of gorgeous handmade touches, and a great guide to seeing the city. Would definitely stay again!

  • Everything was fine

    Frederic2017-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • This place is very cute and a close walk to all the old port activities. They were very welcoming with snacks and water glasses and a welcome note, and clearly put a lot of thought into everything in the studio. And the bed was SO comfortable! One thing guests may want to know--there's no TV. Not needed, but some travelers like to sleep to sound. My favorite part about this studio was the optional dark shades, to keep the light out at night but bright and happy during the day!

They are located only a few blocks away from a beautiful park / walking trail right on the water, and walking distance from all of the best restaurants & activities in the city. • Sheila and Julia were kind hosts who met us when we arrived (an hour later than planned!). The apartment was clean, spacious and had everything we needed, and more! The location was a quick walk to the old port, great for getting some exercise in before eating our way through Portland. Thanks for the great accommodations!

  • Sheila and Julia were fantastic hosts—they greeted us when we arrived and supplied a bunch of super-helpful information about Portland. The apartment was comfortable and cozy! Would definitely stay here again!

  • Very clean, warm, inviting. We felt like we were returning 'home' every night.

  • This space was absolutely incredible, one of my favorite Airbnb's I've ever stayed in. It was impeccably clean and comfortable with everything we needed and more. We were able to walk to the East End Beach only a couple of blocks away with stunning views of the ocean, and able to walk to downtown Portland. There were also plenty of restaurants, markets, coffee shops and bakeries within walking distance. The neighborhood was super safe and well kept. We loved having a kitchen and on the suggestion of the hosts, bought local lobster and cooked one of our nights. I look forward to coming back!
