Neighbourhood
“Principe Real is a distinct neighbourhood with beautiful architecture, gardens and full of energy and glamour. It is the main spot for local fashion designers, hip restaurants and art galleries. Right next door is Bairro Alto with its lively nightlife, bars and people socialising on the street and Chiado, with more options for shopping, restaurants and theatres. The "Avenida da Liberdade" with its luxury brand stores, is also super close. All this easily within walking distance. Despite all these attractions in one place this, it still has a local feel, with amazing coffee shops, typical food and arts and crafts markets. It is close to the the underground (Rato station on the yellow line), to the famous tram 28, and has all the modern mobility options such as electric scooters and electric motorbikes. Parking is either paid or reserved for residents. There are a couple of paid garages that I suggest.”

Cocktail Bar

“This is a place with a very characteristic refinement, which has transformed it into a cult bar for Lisbon-goers and tourists. It was with pride that the manager told us that when tourists return to Lisbon after a first visit, they always go back to The Chinese Pavilion! And yes, you can easily see why they return... Besides all the local charm, it is impossible to admire the entire collection in just one visit!”

“The view is from Lisbon, the decor is inspired by India, but the atmosphere (and the menu) is cosmopolitan. This large café-terrace restaurant on a large city-facing terrace serves light meals throughout the day but also serves as a bar. While everyone naturally chooses to stay on the terrace, on rainy days there is a shelter in the interior rooms, which are equally pleasant.”

Public Art
“It is only 1,9 km from hotel Vila Queirós. From Praça dos Restauradores, the funicular climbs up Calçada da Glória towards the Bairro Alto neighbourhood. It’s a fun ride, and in a couple of minutes you’ll be looking at Lisbon’s rooftops from the Miradouro de São Pedro de Alcântara at the top of the hill.”

Park
“All of Lisbon's lookout points are romantic, but none more than this one, looking over all of downtown towards the castle and the river. It's a landscaped terrace with busts of historical figures, a fountain, and kiosk cafés from where you may sit and admire the beauty of the city. Going up and down the hill next to the terrace is the Gloria funicular, and across the street is the bar of the Port Wine Institute, where you may sample all types of Portugal's famous drink.”

Shopping Centre
“A 'palacete' or small palace (very small as far as palaces are concerned), which was once home to a wealthy Portuguese family and has now been converted a series of small design shops and a restaurant. Great place to shopping, grab a bit or perhaps just a quick drink!”

“CUISINE: Portuguese fusion • This restaurant was born in 2009, with a unique tasting menu, where the irreverent chef Ljubomir Stanisic shows his most authorial side, in original creations. In this laboratory of his, each dish is a voyage through Portuguese flavours – working more and more closely with national suppliers - and, for now, there are only 30 seats available for you to get to know it. Soon, with no set date yet, the 100 Maneiras moves to another number on the same street and is likely to bring some novelties with it - if there is someone who likes to surprise, it's Ljubomir Stanisic.”
