“Here you can find the cathedral the baptistery and the famed leaning Tower, all of them visitable. Try not to miss the Camposanto with all its major art pieces just mind having a guide with you or a booklet. There's the tourism office on site for tickets information and tours. This area is very beautiful at night as well. ”

General Travel
“Not to be missed is Pisa. Everybody knows pictures of the Leaning Tower, but seeing it life-sized still is worth it - and a little cliché photo is always fun. And then there's more to the area than just a tower. You should enter at least one of the sacral buildings. Pisa is also an art-loving city and thanks to the student lifestyle full of cozy little spots and cafés. To recover from the inrush of tourists Pisa offers its calm side with gentle hills surrounding the city and stunning calm and almost untouched nature. Surprisingly nearby is the sea. Beautiful beaches to relax, a refeshing bath in the salty water and afterwards a fruity cocktail in a beach bar - what else could you need? Our favourite place to be: The botanic garden of the university, a calm island in the storm 45 min. from the Villa Sermolli”

“Volterra is another medieval town which is only 25 kilometers far from the farmhouse La Pieve. It is well-known for the extraction and processing of alabaster and for its outstanding historic centre of Etruscan origin; you will see the perfectly preserved Acropolis, the Gate Arch, the Porta Diana. Strolling in town you will come across the Cathedral, several churches and “pievi”, as well as oratories, monasteries, magnificent buildings and places of great historical interest, which date back to the Middle Ages and the Renaissance. You can visit the “Guarnacci” Etruscan Museum, the Art Gallery and the Town Museum, the Museum of Sacred Art, the Palazzo Incontri-Viti and the Alabaster Ecomuseum.”
