  • Great little Airbnb! Donita message you often and will show up if you don't answer her. We like my privacy and this bothered us, but she was vary nice. ! I would stay again.

    Brittany2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • I loved my quick stay at Donita’s home. The cottage itself is a nice size, super cozy, and lots of cute decorations. Donita is a very responsive host and such a friendly person. The home is impeccably clean, and its close proximity to I-70 made it the perfect overnight stop for me on my cross country road trip. The wifi was also fast and reliable. I got a great night sleep in the bed. As a solo traveler, I also felt very safe in Donita’s home and in the neighborhood. I would highly recommend!

  • This little place is full of charm! Loved the farm house decor and location near the interstate. Perfect stop for cross country travel with a dog friend.

  • This house was a bit bigger than we expected. It was a good place to spend the night and had some great amenities, like hot chocolate, granola bars, and instant oatmeal, plus plenty of water in the refrigerator. Our host also provided clear instructions throughout. We also appreciated the informational material about the area. All in all, we recommend this place for a good night's sleep (and there is a carbon monoxide detector present).

  • Mary's place is lovely and sparkling clean. Has everything you need and is in the heart of the little downtown. We couldn't connect to the wifi on our iPad, not sure if that was our device's issue or not. Either way, it didn't cause too much trouble since we were there for such a short time. Loved watching Handmaid's Tale on Hulu! Thank you, Mary!

    Victoria2019-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was just what I was looking for! My husband was able to hunt and I had a few days of nothing but R&R. The home was one of the cleanest I’ve stayed in, very comfortable and I loved the extra amenities. Mary was always quick to reply to any questions I had and was a pleasure to meet. The only thing I hated was time passing so quickly. I’m already planning for my next return. Thanks for sharing your lovely home!

  • I really enjoyed my experience staying at this quiet lodge. It was a kind of country quiet that makes you sleep very well. My first impression was that it was very clean. The hardwood floors are rustic but pretty. The whole house was clean from front to the back room (which is so cozy and quiet. Probably the quietest room in the house) The home has a walk in shower and nice bathroom and convenient laundry area. I used the George Foreman grill and ended up with a very nice meal so that was nice. I will recommend this place to those I know and I would stay here again. Five stars.

  • Lana's house was amazing! This is my first time using Airbnb and I will definitely be booking with Lana again! If your looking for a nice little small quite town where people are friendly this is your place! The neighbors down the street wave and smile if you are outside the park is a 6 min walk from the house...and even though your in town you almost get a country feel. We seen only a total of 3 different sets of people. This made me feel like I was back in my small country rodeo town. I give her 10 stars even though Airbnb is only 5🤗

    Jessica2019-06-19T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy, clean home with the basics amenities that made us enjoyed our stay. I would recommend Lana’s home.

  • AMAZING! The Roost is just wonderful. We were passing through and even in our short stay left more relaxed and ready to tackle the rest of our drive. Rachel and Isaac welcomed is with smiles. Highly recommend to anyone passing through or just looking for a peaceful, quaint getaway.

    Kara2019-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • What a treat to stay at The Roost. We were greeted enthusiastically by the energetic pup, Lucy. Rachel quickly came across the yard to show us to this cute space. It was interesting to hear about the history of the property. Fun to walk across the field with the dogs leading us. They have created a private space with large stands of bamboo, an intriguing idea to post on Pinterest! I always enjoy the guest books and any pictures about the construction. Make sure you check out the pictures. This is clearly a labor of family love. We also had a chance to chat with a couple of Rachel's children. I envy the freedom of their childhoods! The bed is small but comfortable. The TV gets 4 stations-a return to how we used to get our news! We left in the dark to get a start on our travels. I wish we could have stayed longer.

    Christy2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Best place to stay in rural Kansas. Stunningly unique, creative, clean and homey. If you’re traveling on I-70 don’t pass up on this perfect Kansas getaway. Very private and probably the most interesting AirBnB we’ve ever stayed in. A big thank you to Tim and Rachel for making our road trip even more memorable.

    Max2019-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • What an excellent place to stay. We were in town for a wedding, and the roost is a short drive out side of town but well worth the few extra miles to be in such a gorgeous place. The view from the front windows is amazing. Tim and Rachel are some of the best hosts we have stayed with! Highly recommend staying at the roost!

  • I fat fingered the data entry on my dates of stay but Donna was super supportive, helpful and flexible. Thank you very much! The house is exactly as advertised. Friendly neighbor helped us to find the place, which although appreciated was unnecessary. It's easy to find and easy to use the key pad to self-check in. Not much cell service in town, but the wifi in the house was just fine. Thank you!

    Jed2019-07-23T00:00:00Z

A rustic retreat for the nature lover, history buff, hunter, or fishing enthusiast. Also an ideal spot for a family getaway located 14 miles south of WaKeeney. The bunkhouse is nestled among the trees in a small working farm and cattle setting. Enjoy a stroll around the property, seek out the abundant wildlife, view the wildflowers in season, hunt for fossils or just curl up and read a good book. But you don't want to miss the fiery sunsets or the comfort of the rain falling on the tin roof.
We have one bedroom that sleeps up to 4. Beds may be configured to 1 king and 2 twin or 4 twins. You will have available to you the entire house with living room, kitchen, and bath. The kitchen is furnished with stove, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker and cooking utensils.
Located in Trego County on the Butterfield Overland Despatch Trail near the Smoky Hill River and Smokey Valley Scenic Byway. The Bunkhouse sits out in the middle of a pasture surrounded by trees. It feels like a very secluded area, although there are neighbors all within a mile.
  • my boyfriend and our dog went to stay on a stormy snowy weekend. It was super cozy and lovely with very kind and thoughtful hosts. We are already planning to come back when it is warmer

    Quincy2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • The bunkhouse was a nice place for us. It was quaint and quiet, unless you count the sounds of the wind blowing through the trees. The homemade muffins were delicious.

    Bob2019-12-12T00:00:00Z
  • We stopped here on a cross country road trip for one night as we drove through Kansas. This cute “bunk house” is in a wooded grove of trees, down a long country packed dirt road, and surrounded by pasture. It was so peaceful and a great respite not far (<10 min) off the beaten path from I-70. We stopped briefly at Donna’s and she was quick to have us follow her to the bunkhouse, and show us around (took less than 10 min). She is an amazing host. Everything was cozy, adorable rustic decor, and all the amenities you could ask for (full kitchen etc). Main bedroom has a queen and 2 twins, and large spacious living room. Furnace was on and it was warm throughout the night. She made us homemade egg frittata, muffins, cookies, OJ, and fresh fruit galore! Also has tea/Keurig K cups for in the morning. This was unexpected and we relished it! We walked around the farm looking for cows and grasshoppers with our son in the crisp morning air. This house also sits on a “scenic route” where you are close to the Castle Rock, Cedar Bluffs reservoir, with great views of the Smokey hills. Will definitely stay here again if ever driving through in the future!

    Caylyne2019-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • The bunkhouse was exceptional! What a beautiful setting and Our host - Donna made us muffins cookies and had fresh fruit waiting for us. A great stay

    Sarah2019-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Donna's rental has the standard for cleanness for us now! Our professional tester is a 1 year old who crawls everywhere. At the end of day we typically have to wash off his knees and feet from dirt on the floor. But no problems here! Lovely treats left for us, which my husband ate immediately.

    Bethany2019-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • Donna was incredible. I felt like I was in the loving home of a relative. She treated my son as though he were her own grandson, and the hospitality was incredible. I highly recommend this place for a get-a-way.

The air conditioning was giving us some problems but besides that, the house was perfect for us traveling with two dogs. Lovely updates and ample yard space for the pups. Would stay again! Thanks for great hospitality and quick, last minute responses!

    Olivia2019-06-19T00:00:00Z
  • This house is fantastic. It was spotless and filled with extra touches - Rachel has thought of everything, even stuff like toothpaste and extra dog food. The beds are very comfortable, the AC keeps the house nice and cool, and there is tons of space to spread out. The backyard is huge - we played lots of baseball out there and had plenty of room to spare. Make sure you visit Monument Rocks while you're in the area.

Taylors' Place is a cozy, 1920's home that has been modernized to make it a comfortable place to stay.
Taylors' Place is a beautiful home with wood floors, an awesome veranda, large master bedroom, office, dressing room with vanity, lovely living area and a wonderful kitchen. And it is located about halfway between K. C. and Denver.

  • This place is a stunner, and the hosts are among the very best we've ever had -- you will lack for nothing, and everything is a cut above the average (in our experience). Hoxie, KS might seem like an odd destination (for us it was a plausible half-way point between Albuquerque and Davenport), but it's only 17 miles straight north of I 70, and would be well worth those miles for anyone wanting a stopover in that area (kind of north-central KS).

  • This lovely place is exactly as advertised and comes complete with very kind hosts. This is a gem tucked away in a charming little town.

  • Very nice, well appointed, interesting prewar architecture. Good shower and kitchen. Beautiful wood floors. Very quiet. Host is very responsive and kind. In the middle of real Kansas, but near enough to I-70 to be convenient.

  • Juliet's place was a perfect stopping point for us on our way to Colorado! Cozy, comfortable, and clean. She even added sweet touches of toys and games for our kiddos. So thoughtful! We would definitely recommend this place to others traveling through!

  • What amazing place to stay !!! On our road trip from West Palm Beach, FL to Breckenridge, Co . The little old school house was the best play to stay so far , Juliet and Dave go above and beyond our expectations!

    Liliana2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • The country school house is perfect for any travelers! Juliet makes her guests feel welcome and offers a comfy space just like home. This is our 2nd year coming to the school house and we are beyond pleased. Great location, great price, clean, and just lovely. We even changed dates last minute and Juliet was amazing to work with. 5 stars again!

  • Juliet's place is a great place to stay! Just a few minutes off of I-70 makes it convenient and it's also very easy to find. The house was clean and welcoming. Very affordable as well! She provided a pack and play for our daughter, it was so nice to not have to bring ours along! If we are ever in the area again, we will be staying here!

    Anna2019-11-09T00:00:00Z
  • House was cozy and clean. Hospitality was amazing. And every part of our stay was great! I 100% would recommend this place to anybody if you’re stopping through the area! Also, the price is the best in the area for a great AirBnb house!

    Austin2019-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Needed a place to stay at for a wedding that was in town. Much better than staying at the hotel in town in my opinion! This place exceeded my expectations. The only down side to the place is that the drive way is very steep so it would be difficult to park your car up there if your car sits low to the ground. Definitely will stay at this place again when I’m back in town though.

    Jeff2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • What a neat little historic place. Everything has been renovated and works perfectly. The neighborhood is quiet and safe, and close to everything in Ellis. Just a short drive to Hays, where there's plenty to eat and do and see. We particularly enjoyed the antique shops in Hays.

Whether you're in town for the county fair, or a professional conference, our cozy family home is your home away from home too. Everything you could need to feel comfortable and at ease is provided, including a washer and dryer, full-size kitchen, two separate second floor bedrooms, and central air. There's WiFi throughout the house, a Netflix capable TV, and plenty of books and games. Enjoy staying in our modernized century old farmhouse. Let us show you how homey Ellis can be.
Graf House is a century old farmhouse which was moved to Ellis in the mid 1950s. Additional space was added, but the house retains the character of its origin. You will experience details that were typical of early farmhouses - cozy living area and kitchen/dining area, with bedrooms upstairs. The stairs are steep, but carpeted. The house is furnished for comfort. The kitchen has cooking and eating utensils for large or small meals. The bathroom is small but quite adequate. Think of these features as part of the charm of a period farmhouse.
Come to Ellis to visit the Walter P Chrysler Boyhood Home Museum and the Ellis Railroad Museum. Ellis is close to Hays, KS, for your more specific shopping needs, and for access to Fort Hays State University.
  • We were in town for work and the house was a nice play to stay after a long day. A large library for those inclined to read and a stocked kitchen to make meals!

Go to Mama's for the weekend. Quiet and comfortable like walking back in time . It's the kind of house your grandma lived in. Kitchen is fully stocked I have an oatmeal bar as well .The Big Room is what you would be staying in. I call it the hunting room, it has many amenities. We are very small town we have a Mercantile 1 restaurants and a bar. Two lakes within 5 miles also much larger lake is only 25 miles away.
I want your to stay to be exceptionally sweet ,and nice. I would expect no smoking please. On the property at all. Pets are welcome if they are well-behaved and not aggressive. I would ask since you treat it respectfully and kind as it is my home ,and I'm very proud of the Homieness that it brings others ,and my cooking will bring you Joy. As I enjoy cooking
Mercantil offers a daily special as well as nice hot coffee and breakfast in the morning. It's really walking back a hundred years in time there's only a hundred people in the town not surrounding areas as well.

Our little remolded barn is a 100 years old and was used for the horses. We had to choose between tearing it down or totally renovating it. My husband, Laurel did not want the barn destroyed and so the great adventure of restoring a barn began. It has taken 3 years and a lot of very hard work, but we are ready for guests! The Horse Barn has a full kitchen, bathroom, and living room on the main floor. A spiral staircase takes you to the old hay loft which is now the bedroom.
  • Mary was awesome! She met us at the road and escorted us in! They had just received 6-8 inches of snow that day and she met us at 10 pm! She really gave us tips on roads for safety while we were out hunting to avoid getting stuck in the country roads. Great place and awesome host!

    Tommy2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • A great cabin in a beautiful part of the country! A clean, spacious property in a secluded, peaceful setting. Mary gave us delicious cinnamon roles and we loved them! Such a cool transformation from a barn into a unique property. Our four pawed pup had a blast listening to the turkeys in the woods every evening and walking the country roads. We will be back for sure. A+ super host !

    Michael2019-11-20T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at Mary's place was an unforgettable experience! It was incredible to be in this amazingly quiet, natural landscape, and the view of the stars was unreal. Mary was so sweet and left us delicious homemade cinnamon rolls even though she was traveling! They were the best we've ever had. What a beautiful refurbished barn with so many interesting touches - we would love to return. I can't recommend this bNb highly enough!

    Kat2019-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Mary’s place is a hidden gem! If you’re looking to get off the grid for a little while, look no further. The kitchen is stocked with all the supplies you need to cook. There are puzzles, card games and books to keep you busy. The space itself is full of natural light and has a cozy cabin feel. Not to mention, Mary’s delicious cinnamon rolls and other breakfast items. I would definitely stay here again if I’m in the area!

My place is close to Hunting & Fishing. My place is good for families (with kids) and big groups. I have 2 outside dog pens with gates for hunters.
Space includes 1/2 bath, 2 seperate showers, Washer/dryer, Stove, Refrigerator, Dishes, pots & pans, utensils, pizza oven, pool table, and bar area.
  • This was an awesome stay for my 10 family and friends that was used for a hunting weekend. The pictures do not give this place a true feel for what it is. The main area has way more room than I had judged by the pictures. They have built the space out with common sense and functionality in mind. We were able to play poker with 8 guys at the table and still not feel cramped. The pool table was an added bonus. Very comfortable recliners for watching the football games on the big screen, and a perfectly laid out kitchen for entertaining a large group. The place was clean, and very functional. The homemade beds allowed for storage under the beds, so your gear does not clutter the room. The king sized beds were very comfortable and roomy. The whole weekend our crew commented to me what a great find this place was. Well done!!!!

  • This home is set in a beautiful part of Kansas. It has has two bedrooms on the mail floor each with two twin beds. There are several more twin beds upstairs and a rec room with pool table downstairs. But the magic of this home is the hostess Mary who had breakfast items for us and who showed us around the property. We had a delightful time.

    Cinda2018-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • This is a very special place. We were on a cross country drive and intended on staying in each cabin, east and west, on the way out and back, but loved the east cabin so much we stayed there twice. It was a cool night both times and we slept with all the windows open. Screens all around. Fresh breeze never stops. The beds were very comfortable. Mary made us homemade cinnamon rolls on the way out and left us farm fresh eggs. On the way back she made us homemade bread and lasagna. Some of the best I ever had. There are quail and pheasant everywhere. Turkeys yelping in the woods in the morning behind the cabin. Saw a big mule deer buck in velvet. Amazing piece of property and Mary could not have been nicer. Look for the old barn to come up soon. She is renovating that was well and she is very creative. I dare anyone on Airbnb to compare!

When Laurel and I were married in 1994, and I moved from Wahoo, Nebraska (near Omaha) to a cattle ranch in northwest Kansas, I knew I had found my Paradise, In 1880, Laurel's grandparents, Enoch and Rebecca Fox, homesteaded the first 180 acres of Goddard Ranch where they raised corn and started buying cattle. Now Goddard Ranch consists of over 3,500 acres of pasture and farmland and, in the same tradition of Enoch and Rebecca, is still a working ranch. When I first came here, I found the open prairie, rolling pasture land, wild flowers, creeks, ponds and wildlife filled my soul with serenity. I loved the ranch so much that I wanted to share the experience and told Laurel that we needed a guest house for friends and relatives when they came to visit. One Christmas I had a Christmas card on the tree from my stepson, John. Inside I found a picture of a very old, ugly house with the caption, "Your next project. Merry Christmas!" John moved that old, ugly house to our ranch and we started the renovation. 10 years, two additions and many gallons of paint later, we have a very beautiful lodge that sits on the side of a hill, with beautiful trees surrounding it and pasture land as far as the eye can see. Inside is a very spacious family room (20x32 feet) that is off from the kitchen and dinning room. There are two bedrooms with a twin bed and bunkbed in each bedroom. We have a new couch that pulls out into a queen-sized bed with a 7-inch mattress in the family room. There are also 2 twin-sized air mattresses and one queen-sized mattress available. There are 2 bathrooms, laundry room with washer/dryer, and a cabinet with a double sink. All bath towels, linens, dish towels and laundry supplies are included. The kitchen has a stove, refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, all pots and pans, dishes, silverware and the cabinets are stocked with the all staples. Cable TV and wireless internet are supplied. From the front porch, you can watch the horses in the pasture and the cattle grazing over the hill. If you walk up the hill from the back yard, you will find the fishing pond or go about 5 miles down the road to Antelope Lake to fish. You can follow the creek and look for deer antlers, hunt for arrowheads, hike, ride a horse, or watch the sunrise and sunset. At night, roast hotdogs and marshmallows by the campfire under a panoramic view of the stars. You will never see as many stars in the sky than out in the open prairie. If you are traveling with horses, we have a fenced in pasture and a barn to board them. If you are a history buff, we have the Indian effigy, Penokee Man, on our land and will take you to see where he lives after almost 1000 years. Near here was one of the last Indian/Calvery shootouts and our museum in Hill City is full of artifacts that chronicles the vast history of this area. My husband, Laurel, loves to tell stories of when his grandparents homesteaded the first 180 arces. In the last 8 years, Seven 2 Bar has hosted people from India, Ukraine, Italy and from all over the United States. Our lodge is available for weekend getaways, vacations by the week or month, hunting in the spring and fall, family runion, class reunions, or just to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. We offer guided turkey and pheasant hunts. Our guides are very experienced and have trained hunting dogs for your pheasant hunt. I offer home cooked meals and make everything from scratch. Come and visit us and see the living history of Goddard Ranch at Seven 2 Bar Adventures.
  • Had a great weekend and the lodge provided everything needed for a hunting trip!

  • Our family of six shared time and space together - four days and three nights. We played outdoor games on the lawn beyond a spectacular front porch. We spent time with two beautiful horses my kids named Cupcake and Brownie. We took a slow and gorgeous family hike. We saw deer, woodpeckers, meadowlarks, turkey and even a run away calf! We really appreciated the laundry facilities, croquet set, extra blankets for snuggling, dishwasher, plenty of seating and woman ready kitchen! Mary, you are a fabulous host ... Our daughter decided the only thing that would have made our stay better would have been to have you over for dinner!

  • I don't even know where to start. This place is absolutely beautiful and Mary is the most amazing host not to mention her furry sidekick Nacho who is one of the sweetest dogs ever. The place is remote with a creek, horses, cattle, quarries and so much more we didn't have the time to see. You will not often have the chance to see so many stars in the nightsky. The cabin is huge (we were 2 people and 2 dogs). To anybody who goes in the area make sure to see if Mary's place is free, I promise you will not regret it and love every second of it.

  • Mary is a great host. This was a nice, secluded stay for us. That’s what we were looking for. The beds are all twins, so we slept on the pullout queen sofa bed. Mary brought over homemade cinnamon rolls. She had the charcoal grill prepped and cleaned for us and I t worked great! We also enjoyed a fire in the portable fire pit and had a little campfire cookout. A storm came through the day we were to leave and Mary came over to have me put our vehicle in her shed and gave me a ride back to the cabin. Luckily no hail like was predicted, but a very thoughtful gesture!

  • Mary's place was a perfect "meet-in-the-middle-weekend" with our families in Denver, CO and Lawrence, KS. We enjoyed quiet time on the porch swing, laying on blankets in the front yard gazing at the stars, enjoyed seeing jack rabbits, wild turkeys, frogs at the pond and listening to the birds. It was a perfect getaway -- we had 4 adults and 3 children and had no problem findings sleeping arrangements that worked well. The kitchen was well equipped and the interior furnishings were quite comfortable. Mary is a captivating woman -- we feel so lucky to have had the opportunity to meet her. It is the great outdoors and it's so beautiful that you'll want to be outside so definitely recommend bringing sunscreen, OFF and water bottles. Loved every minute of it! I'm already trying to plan our next trip back :). Thanks for the cinnamon rolls and for providing an opportunity for us to get refreshed and reconnected with loved ones, Mary!

  • Mary's West Cabin was a perfect stop for my family and I as we moved across country. She was the perfect host and the place itself was large and comfortably slept all 6 of us (and our cats!). Thanks for having us, Mary.

Horse corral and pasture. Located in a quiet area with a kitchen, dining table sofa, soft bed. Comfortable away from home camping in style. Enjoy being away from the city stress.
Horse Corral and 2 acre pasture for horses and a large dog fence area so they can run around also. It's nice to stay in a relaxed place when your traveling. It helps to reduce stress.
  • Its a fifth wheel that sleeps two or three comfortably. Heater works great, shower is a bit small and finicky but works. It's a perfect place for a pheasant hunting base camp and dogs are welcome. Beware that the water system may freeze in very cold weather, but Steve will offer accommodations in his residence if that problem arises.
