“A huge area of intersecting trails! You can go on a specific hike there (I recommend Coal Creek Falls in the winter and spring when the falls are not dried up - approx 2-3 easy miles depending on what route you take) or this is a great place to walk or trail run and just wander the different trails. You can get endless miles out of that place and it's all beautiful!! Very close by as well. Great year-round trails. Find more info on WTA.org or Alltrails.”

“Just a short walk down the hill, Lake Boren Park is our neighborhood jewel. Kids climbing toys, tennis courts, small lake and fishing dock; and walking trails. This is one of our favorite places in Newcastle. Check out the booths during September Newcastle Days anuly. d the live music then and during the summer concerts.”

“Great for an easy hike in tennis shoes. It is about 3 miles one way to a waterfall and then back again.”

“Must try the maple bar here! It has a whipped maple topping rather than the sugar glaze on top. Sooooo good! If you happen to be up at 2:30 am , make sure to stop by and grab a fresh hot donut. The fresh donut holes are like puffs of air! ”

“Originally started on Capitol Hill in Seattle, Top Pot blends vintage architectural aesthetic with crafted coffee and doughnuts. This one is a reclaimed 60s restaurant with drive thru.”

“It's quite a beautiful trail because it has s*p*a*c*e to view everything, whereas a lot of trails around here are so packed with trees, you cannot see the forest or sky. It is up, up, up though, and then there's a fabulous wood bench at a scenic overlook with a great view, where you can stop to have tea and a snack. ”
