We're all different in many ways, but we all share one thing in common: passion for unique and magical experiences. We have long since wished there were easy ways to escape our busy city lives and retreat into a magical, beautiful and peaceful space that feels like another world. This idea eventually evolved into a mission to build with our own hands Melbourne's very own magical sanctuaries, and to share it with the rest of the world. We love imagining what we could create, to build, and to share them with the world through hosting. We constantly think about how to make our creations bring even greater sense of joy and wonder, and not about how much it'll cost us. We're genuinely excited and happy to host each new guest, to hear about what they love about our creations, and what we could do to make it even better. We have built and opened our first instalment of Melbourne's hidden sanctuary, which we lovingly refer to as "Heaven & Earth". We have plans to make it even better, as well as other ideas for other worlds we want to try building for our next instalments. All Melbourne's CBD attractions are within easy walking distance—you can reach Flinders Station, Federation Square, and the Yarra River in five minutes. Degraves Street is a three-minute walk, and Hardware Lane restaurants are six minutes away.

  • I read an article that talked about the most unique airbnb rentals all over the world. Well, this was the only one that came up in Melbourne Australia. So I quickly booked for our first trip to Melbourne. I was lucky to fine it available for at least 1 of the 2 days in Melbourne. The photos look great. In person, it was even better!! Heaven & Earth :) I love everything about this place. And all the extras the hosts provided with coffee, breakfast, milk, shampoo, etc etc etc. I can’t recommend this place enough. No wonder it’s one of the most unique airbnb in the world. And the hosts communication was super prompt and friendly. Love it!

This apartment is like nothing you’ve ever seen before ... just loved the whole forest theme and the bedroom is just so heavenly .. we had such a beautiful dreamy sleep in the most comfortable bed !! Griffin is renowned for his design for Australia's capital city, Canberra.
    A modern one bed apartment in the absolute heart of the CBD overlooking the Second Empire style Neoclassical Melbourne Town Hall built in 1870. At just under 50 sq m (Melbourne inner city apartments are generally not as large as in suburbia and space is a premium) it is equipped for stays for one or two people. Features include comfortable queen size bed, Euro galley kitchen and contemporary bathroom. With public transport, restaurants, bars and much more at the doorstep, it is convenient to everything Melbourne city has to offer from 'Paris' end Collins St. shopping, to the Arts Precinct and Laneway coffee and food - it's all at your doorstep or within 10-15 minute walk. The Capitol Theatre building is heritage listed and as such, the original features such as the huge windows, and interior column detailing dating from 1924 are there to appreciate in original condition as a contrast to the more recent interior renovations and modernisation. The heritage listing also exerts it own challenges for owners and requires us to respect the original fabric of the building - such things as windows and walls cannot be altered and remain a beautiful and tangible reflection of times long past. The space is also a reflection of my life philosophy of "less is more". Clearing out superfluous items, walking/cycling or public transporting, and living in a space that is no larger than it needs to be for my needs - is benefiting the health of the planet and my own wellbeing. It is also an ideal way to live for those needing to travel frequently or perhaps just to love the feeling of freedom that comes with this lifestyle. I hope you enjoy as much as I do - the subtle patina of history that the space exudes and that is served so well by the convenience and aesthetics of the surrounding 'borrowed' landscape - the wonderful facades and 'living rooms' of the city, and its excellent transportation systems. Please enjoy my humble abode!
    Your first breakfast is on me if you want to stay 'in'! Cereals, croissants, fresh fruit, and milk are provided - or there are plenty of local alternatives a minute or two walk if you have a little more time. HOWEVER - Melbourne is internationally renowned for its food scene and brunch is an institution. Melbourne will only reveal its best to those who do a little curious research and get out and into it! Laneway cafes are within a short walk and offer great food from breakfast to dinner. DeGraves Street and Centre Place are famous for their cafe's and are only a 5 minute walk away. Federation Square is a short 6 minute walk and underground there you will find the Melbourne Visitor Centre for all your tourist information and booking needs. Drop by the Arts Precinct to catch a show or an exhibition or go shopping and eating to your hearts content. Currency exchange tellers and banks are in close proximity. There's a huge and diverse array of sights to see and things to do in Melbourne so I have provided a list of recommendations and brochures for your information. The Tourist Information Centre is 5-6 minutes walk away for extra help. I have also added a number of recommendations to the Guidebook, from top end restaurants and classy cocktails, Asian bao zi, and jao zi to 'eat and runs' and much more! Check it out!   • My daughter and I just had the most fantastic long weekend in Melbourne catching up with friends and seeing a concert. Donna's apartment was the final touch to a perfect weekend away. The location is great and Donna was so welcoming. The apartment had everything that we could possibly need and we enjoyed our breakfast croissants immensely. I don't think I'll ever be able to stay anywhere else in Melbourne.

  • This apartment is 10/10, in terms of the apartment itself and its location. It's wonderfully centrally located right opposite the town hall so everything is within easy reach. The apartment is lovely - bright, with plenty of room for 2. It's very well stocked (not that you would consider cooking with so many excellent restaurants/cafes/bars within walking distance) and the personal touches - being met by Donna, given a warm welcome and an informed walk about the local neighborhood, the fresh flowers, bread, wine and chocolate top it off. Highly recommend, will be back.

The art deco apt was a perfect fit for our needs..beautifully decorated, a great, central location, which was generally quiet at night (we slept with the window open), spotlessly clean it a well equipped kitchen, bathroom etc. However the highlight really was Donna herself, very welcoming /interesting/ with lots of additional thoughtful touches.

  • We rented Nina's place for for 4 days for 2 couples and found the apartment to be good for a short city break. The location is quite central, and you're just a short walk away from shops and restaurants and trams, the beds are comfortable and the space is pleasant. The rooftop shared space is quite nice and there is an indoor pool as well. We had the added bonus of being there for NYE and had a great view of the rooftop fireworks! My only complaint would be that the place could do with a bit of a spring clean - the bathroom and kitchen were taken care of, but the rest of the apartment was very dusty.

  • The only (very) minor inconvenience would be to get into the lobby so you can get the room key (after that it's easy). I checked in around 5PM so there were plenty of people coming in and out to allow me to walk into the building, so waited about 2 minutes before I could get in and pick up the key. Perhaps if someone checks in at less busy times they may have a different waiting time. Just something to be aware of, did not take away from the experience. Great location and value, had a wonderful stay.

The small touches such as the provision of iphone charging cords, umbrellas, recommendations of places to visit and even just the existence of small snacks in the cupboards really made us feel right It is within walking distance of main attractions like hosier lane, degraves st and even close to highly raved about cafes in the melbourne cbd area. You can even walk to the queen victoria markets!! Charlee was an attentive and considerate host, always checking to see if everything was going okay. Truly, i cannot recommend this place enough and would love to be able to come back and stay again in the future!

    This beautiful studio apartment has been recently renovated and is ideally located in Fitzroy within walking distance to Melbourne CBD. It is ideal for a single person or a couple. The apartment is on the first floor of a small block of units (18 in total) surrounded by greenery. Our studio apartment (approximately 32m2) is tastefully decorated and has a large window overlooking Napier Street which gets lovely morning light.
    Fitzroy is one of the most exciting and vibrant neighbourhoods in Melbourne. Our apartment is located just off Gertrude Street, between Brunswick Street and Smith Street, all which offer some of the most interesting cafes, restaurants, bars, galleries and shops in town.

I've already been emailing links of this listing to my friends who may be visiting Melbourne in the future, telling them to head here as this place was the best! Being studio-dwellers ourselves the clever use of space was inspirational and the little touches, like a great collection of books and little plants dotted around the place (loved the macrame hangers!), made us feel right at home. A few other highlights for us were: The beautiful light flooding through the big windows in the living area The lovely outlook on to the pretty old buildings on Napier St The location! Fitzroy is amazing and this little place lies right in the middle of it all The super comfortable bed The excellently curated guide to local cafés and restaurants put together by our hosts And Kate and Has! A one stop shop for fresh grocery, handcraft and souvenirs. Wednesday night market is a fabulous place to experience the Melbourne food culture. 5 mins walk to Elizabeth Street and Little Lonsdale Street, with a wide range of Asian eateries for small budget. 10 mins walk to Hardware Lane for a great selection of cafes and restaurants.
  • Kenneth is such a wonderful person. We had to check in early and he able to accomodate with that. Thats so easier for us as we have 11 mths old baby. Our baby enjoys the stay too. The place is well situated near to cbd area, flagstaff garden n as well as trams. Queen victoria market is about 5-7mins frm the apartment. U can have the cereal n milk provided by kenneth. And he will try his best to reply promptly to ur message. The only downside is the sofa is a bit hard. Other than that, We really enjoy our stay in Melbourne.

  • We had a wonderful stay in Kenneth's lovely apartment, I think it's my best airbnb experience so far: the apartment looks exactly like what you see in the pictures, the location is very good, just a few minutes walk from Melbourne Central, the furniture and decoration is very cozy, with a fantastic view of Melbourne city, and you can find everything you may need during your stay. Kenneth's apartment makes me feel so much at home. I highly recommend it to everyone and I will definitely consider coming back when I visit Melbourne again.

  • Natalie was easy to deal with and always very responsive. I stayed with a friend for 2 nights and went to the Aus open tennis each day. It was an absolutely perfect location with tram stop right out the door. The apartment was well appointed with lots of extras like chilled wine glasses and Oreo cookies (the Cookie Monster ate them all). The lounge and kitchen were perfect and linen and towels good.   • What a great accommodation choice for our weekend in Melbourne to celebrate my daughter's 30th birthday. Super host Nat is an absolute gem to deal with regular contact and fab restaurant recommendations which we followed... Rockpool, Chin Chin and Cumulus Inc. Sadly we did not get to meet her as she was overseas but all arrangements were made for an efficient check in and prior details of what we needed to know before we got there. Good size apt for 3-4 people in a great central spot with dual access close to everything. A small supermarket and good coffee at Son of the Bean either side of apartment. Would not recomnend Conxion/Bluebird Shuttles as they did not show up luckily I was rescued by fellow Kiwis sharing a taxi with them. Thank you Nat from all of us :)

Natalie guided us the best way to get to the apartment, and welcomed us warmly, showing us all we needed to know about the place, and a quick tour around the locale. She also gave us thoughtful tips over the course of our stay, which were very helpful. The apartment was delightful; warm and artfully decorated. We didn't want for anything, and everything worked well. The location can't be beaten, so close to Federation Square, and all the amazing restaurants at our doorstep.

Kew is a safe and friendly suburb with a lot of boutique shopping, heaps of great restaurant options, plentiful parks and excellent public transport. Located less than 10KM from the CBD making is easy to experience all that Melbourne. Two minute walk to the bus stop which going to the city.

  • The good: The location and view of the apt cannot be beat. The view from the floor to ceiling windows provide a panoramic view of the Sydney skyline day and night. it is breathtaking and wonderful view to wake up to fall asleep to. The building is also within the CBD and walking distance to all major attractions. A car is not necessary unless you plan on driving to outside suburbs. The apt was clean and cozy (only 2 people can occupy comfortably). The not so bad but there is room for improvement: only one set of towels is provided, there were no napkins or papertowels provided, no clean sponge for washing dishes and the remote control for the TV was broken. There were no clear instructions on how to access the main entrance of the building, access the levels in the elevator, or where or how to discard garbage. The walls are thin so you can hear the neighbors moving furniture, talking, opening and closing doors, running the water. The sound of the wind, given the high level of the apt is also very loud. The apt is managed by a company so i would get responses from different people but no resolution and the hospitality seemed "distant." We did manage to work around some of these issues and none of it impacted our vacation. the management company represented to me that they are still working out many issues so hopefully by the time you arrive, things will be all worked out. If not, it's still a great choice if you are staying in the Melbourne CBD.

  • Amazing place to stay at! The place is EXACTLY the same on the photos advertised. The city view had kept me in awe for the whole duration of my stay! Experienced some complication during my check in. The store I'm supposedly collect my key from was closed when I arrived at midnight. It was stated to be 24 hours open. The host was quick to respond and managed to find me an alternative unit to stay for the night being. Very responsive host! Thank you. All in all, a very value for money stay and I've thoroughly enjoyed Melbourne. :) Highly recommended!

  • I loved the time I spent at Penny and would definitely stay here again. It is beautiful and light inside when the blinds are up and has a peaceful energy to it making it easy to relax after a busy day. The bed is super comfy, the shower excellent and the place is well stocked with amenities & larder. The location is excellent too as walking distance to both the city and Bridge Road. But if you feel like staying in you can order Uber eats and watch Netflix.

There were a basket of fruits on the table to welcome us and as well as provided us with bread,butter,milk,coffee,sugar and tea. They also provided toiletries such as toothbrushes,toothpaste,soap bars,shower bathsoap and shampoos. The bed is very comfy as well as the comforter.   • Excellant location. Easy to contact Khee for additional information as we were arriving by car. We were met and given an extensive introduction to the flat and facilities which was very helpful. Really lovely flat, very clean and great selection of cutlery and crockery. Khee very kindly supplied milk, bread, butter and cheese for us. Also very thoughtful touch was the fresh soap, toothbrush and toothpaste. Close to free tram stop and lots and lots of restaurants. Had a brilliant time and throughly recommend the flat - you will not be disappointed if you book to stay here.

  • Khee's apartment was a perfect central base for our 5/6 day visit to Melbourne. The communication before we arrived was extremely helpful and as promised, a very sweet Khee arrived at the southern cross station to collect us. The apartment was in a great location and has everything you'd need for a fun holiday. Khee was very sweet and even provided a loaf of bread, milk and a welcome sign to make us feel at home! As soon as the oven/grill is turned on the heat/smoke dectector goes off - the solution from Khee was to leave the patio door open - but it was too cold to do that. We wasted food as we did not want to risk setting the alarm off.

  • This apartment is exactly as shown in the pictures. The location is excellent being just a short walk to Southern Cross Station and the Skybus terminal. Coles and Woolworths are close as is the DFO centre for the keener shopper. With the free CBD tram service every spot in the CBD is only a few minutes away. Communication with the owner is great and we were met at the Skybus and walked to the apartment. Lots of brochures and tourist information are available in the apartment. Excellent value.

  • Mo was really welcoming, meeting me in the city and showing me a few places to go for cheap food and the like, before helping me back to his place. The room was cosy, warm, and clean. I generally like to keep to myself and go about my business, and was afforded that privacy during my stay. While Mo's place is over half an hour from the city and on occasion made my plans for my Melbourne visit a bit trickier to follow through with, if you don't need to be right where the action is then it's a great place to stay.

  • What a really nice and comfortable place. Mo is such a nice and friendly guy with loads of life experience that I was intrigued to listen to. Whenever you need some sort of help, Mo is ready to help you out! The place was so awesome. A spacious and soft bed, clean ensuite bathroom with hot shower. The neighbourhood was nice and quiet. The city center is like 20 minutes away so it's not too far. I'm definitely will be using this place again!

    My apartment is part of a very cool warehouse conversion in a 100 year old building; you will really feel as though you are experiencing the urban Melbourne lifestyle. Close to the MCG, less than five minutes from the city by train & surrounded by great shopping & cafes, you couldn't hope for a better location. Great transport on your doorstep but lovely & peaceful inside.
    Although a studio, the apartment is extremely spacious with a large living & dining area & everything you would need for a very comfortable stay. Part of a very cool warehouse conversion in a 100 year old building, you will really feel as though you are experiencing the urban Melbourne lifestyle. There is a secure car park with one space for my apartment. Sorry, the apartment is not suitable for children or babies.
    Richmond is one of Melbourne's most popular inner urban suburbs only 2.5km from the city. Everything is right at your doorstep in TennysonSt. You could just about eat at a different restaurant every night of the year without leaving 3121! For breakfast try Friends of Mine at 506 Swan St or Top paddock at 658 Church St. Maybe try Baby for lunch at 631 Church St and then dinner at Fonda at 248 Swan St. Catch the tram along Church St to get to Chapel St & on to St Kilda and shop till you drop in Swan St or Bridge Rd. It is a 15 minute walk to the MCG and 17 minutes to Rod Laver Richmond really does have it all and I am sure you will love it as much as we do

You can walk over to Southbank and down the river, everything is convenient. The city trams are all free so you can wander and ride to your hearts content.
    Our studio apartment is simply stunning. It is very inviting, intimate, cosy and comfortable. It is small, but it has everything you need at your fingertips: the fluffy pillows, the comfy bed, storage, big TV, fireplace, complete kitchen and bright bathroom. You will love this brand new space. We laid beautiful timber lam flooring, installed designer stone bench tops, quality cooking appliances, double drawer dishwasher, wine glass cabinet, an amazing fire place, large flat-screen TV and a gorgeous Hilton pillow-top queen size bed with large under-bed drawers for you to use as storage. We've also installed a convenient closet/robe space at the end of the kitchen where you can hang your suits, shirts or dresses and jackets, tuck away your shoes, and sit your other personal belongings out of the way for use when required. We chose a beautiful white marble stone for the bench tops (there is a solid slide-out space-saving stone bench top you can pull out from above the fridge) and a mirrored splash back to reflect light and space into the studio. We have also ensured there are power points and USB points so you can charge your phones, tablets, laptops, etc - located on both sides of the bed.
    Flinders Street - Is home of our architecturally renowned Flinders Train Station and Federation Square. Both are visited and used by thousands of people every day, so expect the streets to be busy all the time. You are in the heart of our transport hub and cafe central, so you don't have to walk far to find what you need. Shopping - Well, where do I start! If you're after food to eat or cook we have Woolworths (supermarket) located right beside our building (turn left as you exit), and Coles (another supermarket) right around the corner in Elizabeth St (turn right as you exit, and then right into Elizabeth St). Then there are lots of cute little cafes dotted along Flinders Street, and around the corner in Elizabeth St, or walk up to Swanston St and you will be flooded with busy cafes and all the takeaway giants, like Mc Donalds, KFC, Hungry Jacks (Burger King) etc - you will never go hungry when staying at our place! :D Degraves Street - When exiting our building, turn left from our front door to enter this atmosphere laden lane featuring bars, shops, cafes, and restaurants. It is also home to many fantastic pieces of street art and graffiti, and is a popular place for tourists and locals to mingle during the day or at night.

The instructions for check in were very clear and easy to follow and she made it clear that I could always call if I needed anything or had any questions about the apartment. I never did need to call as everything was just fine!My stay was 10 days and Debbie even organised an apartment clean half way through at no extra cost. This included new linen and extra supplies - very generous i thought.

    Superbly located hotel style accommodation in a quiet courtyard with independent access.
    The Stables is a single bedroom unit, akin to a hotel room, which is separated from the main residence by the yard. Built in 1900, The Stables were lovingly and sympathetically renovated in 2010. They retain their original red brick floors and timber doors, but now feature a beautiful modern ensuite. Location is everything, and you would be hard pressed to get closer to the MCG. All of the attractions of the city are just a pleasant stroll through the beautiful parkland. This is an excellent location if you are going to concerts or sporting events at Rod Laver Arena or AAMI Stadium. Located centrally between Bridge Rd and Swan St, which are home to fantastic cafes, restaurants, and shopping. Trams, trains, and buses are all nearby. While fruit, biscuits and tea & coffee facilities (with a bar refrigerator) are provided, we are not a traditional 'b&b' with a kitchen or breakfast offering - but we can recommend that you head to the Rowena Parade Corner Store for all of your breakfast and lunch needs. The Stables are independently accessed via their own entrance and are located at the rear of our property, sharing a yard with the main house (where two dogs sometimes sit during the day). Parking is available on-street adjacent to The Stables and we provide a visitor's pass for your vehicle.
    Richmond is a great neighbourhood. A beautiful walk across Yarra Park, past the Melbourne Cricket Ground, to the City - or along the River. Shops, cafes, and restaurants abound on Swan Street, and Bridge Road.

Prior to arriving, Ione ensured we knew where we were going and how to get inside. We did not have any contact with her face to face but we did know how to contact her had we needed to. I appreciated the small things like milk for tea/coffee, a guide on Melbourne (to include take out menus), and the Anzac biscuits. The Stables was a highlight to our Melbourne stay.

We had easy access to both tram and train, which enabled us to travel to and from the CBD and surrounds with ease. The facilities provided by Ione and Mark were excellent and well represented in the description. I would not hesitate to stay again and would recommend it to anyone looking for an alternative to hotel accommodation. Ione provided great information on the surrounding area and the option of a car parking permit was a bonus if required.

  • The Stables was great place to stay, very central to public transport, and restaurants all within walking distance and the train only minutes away. The bed was very comfy and the room well presented, small and cosy. Lovely shower. The garden is tiny and shared with the hosts family but we hardly ever saw them and were left to our own to enjoy our privacy. For Melbourne it was quiet and peaceful with very little outside noise intruding. Would definitely stay their again due to the comfort and ability to walk to outlet shops, food and train to the city.

Or you can hop on and off the trams which are FREE within the CBD. The Host was very accommodating and allowed an early check-in after a long haul flight which was very much appreciated.   • Located very close to the intersection of Bourke and Swanson Streets. Brilliant access to public transport, though at peak periods it is difficult to find space on trams. Attentive staff, were very helpful in helping us retrieve an item we had left behind. There is a Woolworts metro around the corner and a full supermarket a couple of blocks away. The accommodation is spacious with original art works, with comments on the artists in the comprehensive folder provided. It includes dishwasher, washing machine and clothes dryer, very handy for a longer stay. We had some difficulty locating the switches for the exhaust fan and lights over the stove. On the downside outlook is across a narrow lane to a large office building - if so inclined you could keep track of the hours worked by each of the office employees. This means that you need to close the blinds once you turn on the lights if you want any privacy. I wanted to work at the table, which was sub optimal because it was placed in a corner next to a window, but with poor night time lighting. I mentioned this to the manager and she thought she could fix it in the future. Overall the apartment worked very well for us.

While there is a little kitchenette we ate out due to the huge amount of options just outside the door. The location was absolutely perfect for visiting the galleries, shops and bars of Fitzroy and Collingwood. We also walked into the city a few times. The loft is a compact and private space that was surprisingly quiet.

  • We stayed in Sunny's apartment for a week in January 2014. Sunny's apartment is great. It has everything you need from appliances, TV, comfy bed, washer/dryer and storage space. When we arrived the apartment was very clean and Sunny showed us everything we needed to see. We also arrived around midday and Sunny was able to meet us there. The apartment is located in a great spot on Collins Street. The building is a renovated classic style building and Sunny;s apartment is on the 10th floor. There is a tram stop about 200m down Collins Street and the apartment is in easy walking distance of supermarkets, bourke street shopping, Flinders Street station, federation square and Chinatown. It is also very easy to walk across the Yarra to Southbank and the casino etc. I would highly recommend Sunny's apartment if you are coming to Melbourne.

The location is very central and convenient, is only a 5-10 minute walk from Southern Cross Station and the skybus depot, close to trams and close to lots of places to eat.   • Has been staying with this apartment 7 nites, and the experience is just average only. No doubt location is strategic and downstair with supermarket. However, it wouldn’t be too friendly to friend who bring child or parent along because this host is very strict toward the early check in or late check out issue. I have initials the early check in request due to bringing a 2 years old infant along but it has been rejected but proposed to me to book additional day to stay juz for early check in. Doesn’t matter because at the end i found out i booked one day ahead. But come to check out time they have been v friendly remind me it is 10am in the morning. I think for decent or normal stay 12pm will be v standard but pls be remembered is 10am for this. And i got to packed everything day before woke up super early juz to get ready ourselves to get out from the unit. Also, cleanliness on all the kitchen items is not tat good. I saw 80 percent of the cups, plate with stains like coffee stains or etc which i need to clean everything ahead before using it although i still will do that no matter how. But obvious stains is unacceptable for this. Heater, there is only one heater in the living room and if you afraid of cold better reconsider it because when we stay there, it was quite cold staying inside the unit and there is no extra blanket and etc for you. Overall, this is the worse unit i have ever stayed.
