A 2BR/2BA historic row home in the heart of Jackson Ward. The home is directly around the corner of Leigh and 1st from the Historic Maggie Walker home. Enjoy a comfortable king size bed and private bathroom, with custom walk-in shower, all located within the master suite. Guests will have full, uninhibited and private access to the entire house. For parties of two, please let host know in advance if you will require both beds. There is a $15 pet fee per stay.
Guests will have full access to the space, including kitchen and laundry facilities. Due to high turnover rate, it is most helpful for hosts to know in advance if both bedrooms will be used. For parties of two, please let us know upon booking if you are going to use both beds.
The property is located near some of the best restaurants in RVA. Enjoy a cocktail at Restaurant Adarra, located across the street.
  • Communication before we arrived was quick and thorough. The house itself was spotless and extremely stylish. The interior design was well done. The master bed was one of the most comfortable I've been in. Easily one of the best Air BnB experiences I've had. I look forward to returning.

  • Such a great spot! Loved this cute, rustic space. Great for a quick getaway for business or personal. Hilarious reading materials—the owner is obviously a traveler, CIA, or has a twisted sense of humor and varied interest, haha—in fact, maybe all the above! It was excellent. You could grab the 9/11 Committee report to read or learn about Russian Criminal Tattoos and their meanings (not for the faint of heart). Great location for downtown. Excellent amenities offered. Clean space and awesome that both bedroom areas had their own bathroom and shower/tub. Updated design and fixtures. Much bigger than you’d think too! I was so enthralled with the books and art collection, I didn’t even turn the large flat screen TV on. Would love to stay here again when I travel to Richmond occasionally. Felt safe inside!

  • Awesome place with amazing decor! Appreciated the open communication and local dining/entertainment tips!

  • Michael’s place is in a charming old part of Richmond. The house is large and well appointed.

    Harry2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Even more impressive in person than the photos can communicate. Great location, we walked to several spots. Michael's recommendation of Adarro (restaurant across the street) was excellent!

    Cheryl2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • The best Airbnb experience I have ever had.

    Richard2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great value in a good location and will especially meet your needs if you're used to urban living. The parking in back was a huge convenience. Mike and Katarina were very responsive. Some things in the house prioritize form over function, but the aesthetic is so nice we didn't mind all that much. Definitely loved being in walking distance to a fantastic casual southern restaurant, Mama J's!

  • What a cute little spot ! The bedroom opening up with a huge skylight was one of my favorites. And this place was super close to everything I was doing ! Will def be returning

Use the lock box to gain access. A charming second floor apartment in Richmond’s desirable Fan District with beautiful southern exposure. A lot of the woodwork has been lovingly stripped to show the detail that was standard in houses circa 1910. The shutters and vintage ceiling details in the living room were added about 1980 and add to the architectural interest. The apartment has an eclectic collection of furnishings. Ed Gorham is a fine art painter and the contemporary paintings are his
No Parties allowed. Our retired greyhound lives here he’s very quiet & friendly but will not be in your space. Close to the Virginia Museum of Fine Art, Virginia Historical Society and Museum, the Science Museum, the Children’s Museum, the Redskin Training facility, VCU academic campus. A short walk provides an array of restaurants and a Starbucks is just feet away from the door.
The Fan District is architecturally a significant collect of homes. Most houses were built 1900 - 1925. The iconic Monument Avenue is just a few short blocks away and is an interesting walk.
  • Pat and Ed’s place was so lovely and perfectly located. The interior was neat and very charming, and filled with exquisite antiques and art. We were able to find parking less than a block away, and enjoyed exploring the vintage shops in the neighborhood. We would highly recommend staying here to anyone interested in spending time in Richmond.

  • This place is so nice! Clean, spacious and in a perfect location for a stop on our drive from NJ to FL with our dogs. This is our second time staying here and it’s on our list of favorites. The decor is modern with beautiful wood touches , the bed is very comfortable and the shower space is welcoming after a long day of travel. The neighborhood and nearby park are perfect for walking. Great coffee shop nearby. Brittany is a wonderful host!

    Tammy2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • This was the perfect place to stay. The place is so cute, very clean, smells great and the location is amazing. There were fresh flowers and live plants in the house and coffee for us. We will be back again.

    Lauren2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • This guest house was absolutely stunning! This spot was in an ideal location—just steps from great birding spots and delicious food at neighboring restaurants and bakeries. Parking was a breeze and I felt secure being able to see my vehicle from the guest house (plus the neighborhood is super safe). Brittaney provided tons of recommendations at check-in. She truly went above and beyond by providing an early check-in despite a late check-out by the previous guest. Both my pup and I felt right at home. I would come back in a heartbeat and wish I could have stayed longer!

    Starr2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Great space. I traveled with my husband, eight month old daughter, and two large dogs and Brittaney's space worked perfectly for us. This airbnb made traveling easy as there was coffee and a pour over, shampoo, a pack n play, and a water bowl for the dogs. Little Nickel and Laura Lee's were great dinner spots; the ability to walk to trails from the airbnb is outstanding. I would definitely recommend this airbnb to anyone traveling to RVA.

    Kristen2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Brittaneys guest house is beautiful and exceeded expectations!

    Collin2020-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • Wow. This space is fantastic! Serene, wonderful craftsmanship, beautifully designed, lots lovely touches, wonderfully framed windows that capture the sky and trees throughout. The location is exceptional. This was the last night of our road trip along the east coast with our four month old pup and we were contending with some severe weather along our route (rain and 20-50 mph winds). Our hosts were kind enough to tag team the turnover from the previous guest so we could check in an hour earlier which made such a big difference given our puppy and the weather we had just driven through. We were ready for a reset and to make the last night of our road trip a special one and that it was - thanks to our amazing hosts. Not only was the space amazing but their suggestions of where to go were exactly what we needed and made our stay so special. We enjoyed lunch at Lunch and Supper (first meal out with our pup), walked on a trail along the James River (just minutes from the house), had a lovely and delicious dinner at the charming Laura Lees and delicious, coffee, cinnamon bun and breakfast sandwich at the quaint WPA coffee house. We want to come back and do this (and more) all over again!

This petite studio packs loads of charm. Formerly a storefront built in 1890 the huge windows, exposed brick and concrete floor add to your unique RVA experience. Located in the heart of Church Hill you're steps from Libby Hill Park, St. John's Church and fantastic eateries. The Capital Trail is here as well as a nearby RVA Bike Share Station- just download the app and away you ride! Beyond Church Hill await museums, street murals, tours, live theater, riverfront festivities & more. Welcome!
Though the space is a mere 378 sq feet, the queen size bed and 2 Ikea pull out sofas can accommodate 6 guests. The queen bed will be made up. Let me know if I should leave additional bedding for the sofa beds. The hotel style kitchenette features a coffee pot, microwave, mini fridge with freezer, as well as a wine fridge. A television is provided for streaming from your phone. The full bath has a shower, no tub. Please, absolutely no smoking.
Church Hill is the oldest part of Richmond and was so named because the view of the James River from Libby Hill Park was strikingly similar to the view of the River Thames from Richmond Hill in England. Patrick Henry uttered his iconic call "Give Me Liberty or Give Me Death," here, at St. John's Church. Walking the neighborhood, each home you pass gives you a sense of this history. A quiet gem, it’s hip and park like and a heaven for foodies. Some of my favorite spots are Italian take away from 8 1/2, coffee at Riverbend, fine dining at Metzger's or a beer out on the deck at Patrick Henry's Pub - and don't forget dessert from the award winning Proper Pie. There is a ton to do in Richmond but I'm thrilled to live in Church Hill and am so pleased that you're coming! - Look us up on insta gram, historicstorefrontstudio for ongoing pics of life in Church Hill and RVA.

The Manchester Residential and Commercial Historic District is located in the city of Richmond, Virginia, on the south side of the James River. It is connected to the financial district in Richmond by the Lee, Mayo and Manchester bridges. In the 1800s, Manchester along with Richmond, had become a major port and commercial center serving the eastern seaboard and beyond. Manchester was granted city status in 1874 and became the seat of Chesterfield County. In 1910, the city of Richmond annexed Manchester.

We are also easy walking distance from the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, the Virginia Historical Society, and Black Hand Coffee. You will love our updated kitchen and comfy bed. Our apartment is great for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers.

    Chris2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent location with TONS to do right in the neighborhood. The space is perfect for two and has everything you need. This is absolutely where we will look to stay next time we are in town.

    John2020-01-28T00:00:00Z
  • This place is super well located and accessible by public transportation and Uber. There are many restaurants and cafes nearby, including a convenient neighborhood market across the street. Black Hand Cofee is also across the street so, you can get your coffee fix every morning quite easily. The apartment is very comfortable, perfect size for a short stay. The only downside is the lack of enough daylight in the common areas. The windows look at an alley with not much light which makes the apartment dark. Otherwise, is a great spot, recommended.

  • Our stay at Glenn's Guesthouse was perfect. His studio apartment is spotlesly clean, comfortable and located in a quiet, safe neighborhood and is very affordable. The self check-in was a breeze. We quickly unloaded our luggage, settled in and then went to a nice dinner in the nearby Fan District ( 10 min drive). We did not have alot of questions since this Airbnb offered everything as advertised, but Glenn was very responsive and polite with all correspondence. I would definitely stay again and would highly recommend this Airbnb to others.

1 B/R apt in the historic fan district, recently remodeled, everything shiny & new. Walking distance to restaurants, bars, movie theater, shopping and several parks. The apt is above a bar/restaurant that is currently temporarily closed, so you can expect lots of peace and quiet. You will have your own off street parking space
Complimentary bottled water and coffee in the fridge, snacks on the kitchen counter and candy on the coffee table.
The restaurant/bar downstairs, Cary St. Café, is Richmond's premiere hippie bar, excellent food and live music. The Byrd Theater is only 3 blocks away, where you can see a movie for only $4. Byrd Park and Maymont Park are just a few blocks away.
  • Nice, clean apartment above a great bar.

  • This air bnb was perfect for our weekend trip to Richmond. Super clean and incredible location within walking distance of the art museum, coffee shops, breweries, and more. Robyn was an amazing host - really communicative and responsive! Thank you!!

    Lena2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay! So close to everything and loved hearing the music from downstairs! It is quite loud at times but it’s about the same as listening to your phone on low. If you’re a light sleeper she does provide a white noise machine which I thought was a nice touch!

    Brianna2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Phenomenal location, clean space with new fixtures and solid furniture. But important to note that the live music below is no joke—it will be extremely loud until 2am (furniture rattling with bass) and unrealistic to try to sleep before then. Robyn was v friendly, clear and up front about this but it’s important to be aware of if you’re going to enjoy the stay

    Andrew2020-02-02T00:00:00Z

    Steven2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Great place, clean, and a great location. The music downstairs is loud on live nights, but the host is very upfront about that in the description so we knew exactly what to expect going in and had no issues.

    Jonathan2020-01-18T00:00:00Z

  • A great place to stay. Excellent location and a great host. A perfect place for two.

    Russell2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • I had the most pleasant stay at Bill and Lissa’s. The upstairs apartment is very clean and comfortable and is in a great location- the heart of the Fan. I particularly appreciated the thoughtful touches that the host left for me- flowers, coffee, breakfast items and fruit. Highly recommend.

    Nika2020-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay in this delightfully charming apartment. The space was full of thoughtful, hospitable touches — real flowers, plenty of snacks/breakfast items, lots of coffee options, etc. Instructions were very clear, and Bill was kind enough to give us a quick tour when we arrived. The space is very sunny but has blackout curtains if that’s not your thing. There is some street noise on weekend nights, but worth it to be in walking distance of so many great Richmond restaurants, bars, and shops! We also really enjoyed having our morning coffee out on the porch overlooking the garden. All-around great and would definitely stay again!

    Kate2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Bill’s place is a lovely warm and cozy apartment within a historic row house . Perfect location for a weekend trip to Richmond, especially if you want to explore all that the Fan district has to offer. We could easily walk to Carytown, the VMFA and walkable to Scott’s Addition also. The apartment is very well equipped and extremely comfortable - especially the bed. The kitchen is well stocked - Keurig coffee machine with loads of coffee options available and Bill and Lissa has provided breakfast goodies! Can’t say enough great things about Bill and Lissa. Such warm hosts, they greeted us like we were family and were so generous and helpful with our 10 month old twins. We could have talked to them for hours! We look forward to visiting again.

  • Nice apartment with all amenities you could need. Clean and neat with good advice from Hosts about the area and dining. Nice quiet neighborhood, but close to downtown, although not walking distance from business district. Several good restuarants in walking distance. Very steep access stairs to second story apartment, but indoor stairs with good rail. Exactly what we needed for a first weekend trip to Richmond.

    Stephen2020-01-26T00:00:00Z

Welcome! This house, built in 1900, is located in the historic neighborhood Jackson Ward & is within walking distance to VCU, the Fan & Downtown. Many bars & restaurants are within a 5-minute walk. All other parts of the city are within a quick 5-15 minute drive. A PULSE express bus stop is 2 blocks away. Four sweet animals live in the house - 2 dogs and 2 cats. I have 2 guest rooms (link below). **I WANT ALL GUESTS TO ENJOY THEIR STAY, SO PLEASE READ ALL INFORMATION & RULES BEFORE BOOKING.**
This guest bedroom has wooden floors, a ton of natural light, it's own A/C and heating unit, bright, artistic decor & a Roku TV. The queen bed has a pillow-top mattress, soft sheets, firm pillows and a duvet for colder weather. You have closet space, shelves & hangers to use. The shared bathroom with a shower is right next to the room and a 1/2 bath can be found downstairs, too. My other guest room can be viewed at: https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/21428284?s=51
Jackson Ward is a fantastic, central location in and of itself for history & great food and also for accessing other great parts of the city. There is a bar just at the end of my block - the Gwar Bar (yes, owned by the metal band of the same name). Saison restaurant and it's adjacent market (mostly beer and snacks) are three blocks away. Sahara Mediterranean Restaurant, Bar Solita, Max's, Comfort, J Kogi, an Ice Cream Parlor, Mama J's, Bistro 27, Tarrant's, and Quirk rooftop bar are just a few places all within a 5 minute walk. The closest grocery store is a 10 minute walk away. This is just a snapshot of what is within close-range.

  • Great place close to VCU. Clean, quiet, easy to find and seemed to be in a nice area of town. Cat in the common area was very friendly and enjoyed playing with her even though I’m not even a cat person. Tara was also nice and welcoming. She went above and beyond as a host. The shared bathroom was only shared with one other person it seemed and I was able to use it whenever I needed to. Would recommend her place to future travelers looking for a quiet place to stay.

    Kurt2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Great room in a great location. The host gave clear, detailed instructions for check-in and the stay itself. Would definitely stay again.

  • Ok. Let me start by saying that I travel 7-9 months out of the year, and I stay in AirBnB's about 90% of the time. I've seen everything from really good to really bad, and it takes a lot to impress me. That said, this is hands down the COOLEST place I've ever stayed! The furniture, the salt lamps, the antiques...The level of attention to detail is unmatched by any other place I've ever stayed. I seriously felt like I was staying inside a literal movie set. SPOILER ALERT: It has a bookcase secret door as the entrance!! Are you kidding me? So effing cool! If you're looking to relax in the most stylish and thoughtful AirBnB in Richmond, look no further. 10/10 will definitely book again!

Private studio with lots of character in Churchill. Built in 1840 and part of the historic district, it has its own entrance, private bath, kitchenette, and porch. Enjoy quiet & private settings. Only 1 mile to downtown. Walk around Chimborazo or Libby Hill Park. Near many restaurants, coffeeshops, museums and historic places. Virginia Capital Trail is less than a mile away.
Please note that this is a studio good enough to host 2 people. This is not a 5 star hotel or a hotel at all. By booking this studio, you only have access to the private studio, its bathroom, kitchenette, and front porch. Please do not attempt to enter other parts of the house. There is construction next door and thus there is potential for noise but it is quiet for most of the time, especially at night. I offer a clean and safe place to stay at an extremely affordable price! so if you are looking for a 5 star hotel this studio might not be for you. I do this to offer travelers and alternative as they travel, please understand you are not booking a hotel, this is my house. The place is historic and has a lot of character and everything works! You will not find the IKEA type of place so if you are not independent, adventurous or are bothered by antique construction/furniture this place might not be for you. Take care and safe travels!
Church Hill is an Old and Historic District in Richmond, Virginia. It is well known for Chimborazo Park, where the largest American Civil War Hospital was located. It is also known as the site of Virginia's second revolutionary convention, where Patrick Henry gave his "Give me liberty or give me death" speech in St. John's Episcopal Church, Richmond, Virginia in 1775. In recent years, Church Hill has undergone gentrification and it is now home to many small businesses, including restaurants, bars, hair salons, and boutiques. In 2014, Church Hill was named one of the "10 Hot Food Neighborhoods Around the U.S" by Zagat. In 2015, Redfin included Church Hill in a roundup of most walkable neighborhoods in the city—while Richmond was named #9 in their list of Top 10 Most Walkable Mid-Sized Cities.
  • Carlos's place was very clean and cozy. He was prompt in his communication, and everything was just as described. Would recommend.

    Kyle2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Carlos place is great for a quick trip to Richmond! His space is a cute little efficiency type unit that is in a good location and has easy access to the rest of the city. My only suggestion would be to ignore his “has hair dryer” amenity and bring your own. The hair dryer in the unit is about the same as asking a friend to blow on your hair to dry it. Other than that enjoy your stay at Carlos’ place!

    Renee2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay in Richmond, Virginia. Carlos’ place was very clean, unique and cozy. He was quick at responding and was available if needed.

It brushes right up against all of the entertainment and quaint shopping of Carytown and the bars/food/energy of the VCU/Fan District. There is a new bike share just a few blocks away. Ask me about it if you want more info. Lovers of river views/hikes stay in this neighborhood, as the James River, Maymont Park and Byrd Park are a 5-10 minute drive. The bus station and train station are both about a 5 minute cab ride from your front door. • A charming efficiency apartment close to the Museum district, close to I-195. it was really a lovely place, perfect for a quiet business trip.

  • Jessica was a great host! The location and neighborhood are unbeatable, and the space was very clean and stylish. Check-in went very smoothly, and we had no issues parking during the numerous times coming and going throughout the weekend. Would recommend!

    Courtney2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • The studio is small but the furniture is well placed and it still feels spacious. The location is excellent, close to supermarket and drugstore, and extremely safe. It was very quiet during day and night. The bathroom was good and the shower was great. We had plenty of towels and toilet paper. The kitchen had everything we needed and enough space to store our food. The TV had Netflix and was conveniently placed next to the bed. The bed was ok, the pillows were plenty and comfortable. We did miss having a nightstand. Instead we had to use the dining table, which was fortunately big enough. Also, the heater was placed next to the door, which we believe made it difficult to completely heat up the studio. The place had nice amenities like hair dryer, plastic bags, some cooking ingredients like oil, sugar and salt, and also soap. We also loved the available snacks. The host was very friendly and helpful, and always answered us very quickly. She also gave us nice recommendations about the city. We definitely recommend this place and would stay there again.

    Brandon2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I had a lovely short stay at Jessica's place. Cute, stylish, clean. Plenty of extra towels and blankets. Easy to get in and out with the keypad code. Safe, cute area, walkable to lots of fun places. If you like to spread out in your space as a couple, this may not be the place for you, since it's a relatively small space.

Light up the fire and lie back on the huge sectional sofa in a reimagined interior of massive windows and soaring ceilings. Industrial-style elements add authenticity, while new features include a twin-vanity bathroom with marble countertops.
Just step out the door to come to Monument Avenue, while restaurants, brewhouses, and boutiques at Scotts Addition and Fan Carytown are within walking distance. In addition, the GRTC Pulse a block away offers easy access further afield.
  • We loved Jill’s spot and can’t wait to come back! It was the perfect way to visit Richmond for the first time - her place is well located, beautiful, spacious, and comfortable. • Beautiful place. Great location and easy check-in. A very comfortable place to stay. Highly recommend to anyone for the price.

    Nathaniel2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • No complaints. She was easy to communicate with, her place is quite nice. She worked with me to hold my luggage while I was doing an interview which I appreciated. Her house is about a mile from VCU medical campus and two miles from museums and local breweries.

    Thien2019-12-13T00:00:00Z
  • Tara's place was impeccably clean. The washrooms were amazingly stylish - chandelier in the half washroom below wow ! Location is good with plenty of restaurants nearby and safe as well. Tara is meticulous and everything is well thought of put on paper so that there is no ambiguity. Her dogs and cats are also trained not to bother ;). Would certainly stay there the next time I happen to travel to Richmond again

    Kamal2019-12-08T00:00:00Z

  • Arguably the best Airbnb I have stayed in recently. Tara has a talent for decorating and has very tasteful touches. The room was clean and artistic felt like I was sleeping in a museum. Only wish I could figure out the heater but it wasn’t that big of an issue. Tara gave clear instructions and was quick with the responses as well. Very glad I stayed here

    Andrew2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Very convenient location, appreciated the easy parking. The place was very low-key since everyone staying were air bnb-ers. I liked that all the rooms had separate doors that automatically locked when closed. My husband and I did use the kitchen some as it does have the basics available for cooking, and the host was very quick to accomodate if we needed anything.

    Lauren2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had little midweek Richmond getaway planned and loved the location of Carol’s place. So many things to do and places to eat right in the downtown /Fan area. The unit was very clean and super cozy. The waterfall shower is amazing. Really the only “negative” thing might be if you are a really tall person (taller than my 6’4”) you will definitely have trouble with the low ceilings and entrances ! Also, the communication was excellent regarding our stay and anything we might need. We would definitely stay at Carol’s place again when in Richmond.

Beautiful historic house in the Fan. Despite being a quiet residential area, the Fan is walking distance to some of the best restaurants in the city. Eat breakfast on our beautiful terrace shaded by a 150 year old tree. Visit the museum or the movies without the car!
I am a musician and have salon concerts given by the best classical and acoustic musicians in the city.
Our neighborhood is amazing! We have concerts in a small secret garden a block away from our house. You can get a glass of the best prosecco and tapas around the corner and visit our museum up the street. Carytown is minutes away on foot with local artisan stores, turn of the century cinema and amazing restaurants, bars and cafes.
  • Superb location , wonderful uniqueness of house amidst neighborhood of fine architecture and wide streets - just around corner from the magnificent Fine Arts Museum , minutes away from Cary and bountiful restaurants etc ... very welcoming host, such a comfortable room and welcoming to our grateful dog ! Henry2020-01-23T00:00:00Z
  • This place was just as described. A beautiful historic home located in a great area and within walking distance to the shops and restaurants of Carlytown. My bedroom was upstairs and was very clean, super comfortable and stylish. Gabrielle was very nice and you I even had the pleasure of hearing her singing :) . Fred was friendly, knowledgeable, and easy to talk to. The stay felt like i was visiting family. The walls are a bit thin so if you're hoping for absolute silence, probably not the place. It was not distracting or disturbing, but just something to note. Overall, great place, good price, and the location/neighborhood/house/hosts couldn't be better. I wish i had more time!

  • This was the best AirBnB we have ever had. It was by far the cleanest, the amenities were wonderful (pretty much every toiletry you can think of), it was stylish, and the location was wonderful. There were some fantastic places within just a couple blocks—drinks at Saison were particularly amazing. Reagan was incredibly responsive and even offered us quick recommendations when we decided we wanted to get pedicures or massages at the last minute.

  • This little nook borders on the luxurious. It reminded me of an inn where I stayed in the countryside in England. Spotless , but not sterile, with little creature comforts here and there . Fresh apples , spring and sparkling water tea and coffee and a few lamps lit when I self-checked myself in rather late at night so that it felt cozy and not lonely . I’m not very familiar with this particular Neighborhood and I have visited Richmond a number of times before but it is close to some of my favorite spots. There is a good chance that I will return.

Located in the vibrant and charming Museum District neighborhood less than a block away from Cary Street (aka Carytown). Within a few steps there are restaurants, bars, local coffee shops, boutiques, three grocery stores (Fresh Market, Ellwood Thompson's, Kroger), a post office, brewery, two dry cleaners, and even vintage $4 movie theater.
  • The perfect spot for our trip! The place was beautifully simple and in a great location. Carytown was perfect for local bars, grocery stores, restaurants and a short walk to Maymont and Byrd Park. Justin was one of the most communicative and accommodating hosts we’ve experienced. He made being a guest as easy as possible. Thank you for the lovely stay!

  • This is a lovely airbnb apartment. Very comfortable and welcoming. Great location that's a very short walk to shops and restaurants -- a great neighborhood. We had a good night's sleep and just wish we could have stayed longer to explore the area.

  • Everything you could need was in this cozy apartment. Super cute and great location. You can walk to different establishments, or Uber under $10 for a change in scenery. Highly recommend.

  • What a great place! Stylish and clean with a separate workspace, nice kitchen, and comfy couch and bed. Super-convenient to local grocery store, one block from Cary Street and some fine restaurants and shopping. Easy on-street parking in a less-dense neighborhood than most in Carytown.

    Janet2020-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • Justin’s home is a great stay for someone from the work traveler to the weekend warrior. Super clean, well decorated, and a great touch of hospitality, Justin’s home truly felt, well like a home! Located in the heart of the museum district, it was super easy to find on street parking and a quick walk to Carytown, where a visitor can truly explore the local Richmond culinary and shopping scene. With his great communication and ease of stay, I most definitely will recommend Justin’s home to anyone who plans on visiting Richmond.

  • This location cannot be beat! I lived in Richmond for four years and was still pleasantly surprised how close I was to so many great restaurants, coffee shops, and attractions. I had to walk through a small alley to get to the front of the building (the lockbox is not on the back door where you park) but other than that, getting into the unit was a breeze. Although the posting says there is not assigned parking, there actually was a parking spot that was clearly labeled for the apartment number I stayed in which was very helpful as parking in that area of the city can be hard to come by. The apartment itself is located in a very old building. Fortunately, I enjoy the character these old buildings have to offer, including creaky old wood floors. If you are looking for something super modern, and up-to-date, this location is not for you. David's place was very cozy (it was a cold day and the heat was already on and ready for me). The furniture, including the bed, were comfortable. There were plenty of snacks and bottled water available which I appreciated after a long drive into the city. Although, the bedroom is located right next to a busy street, I barely heard anything as David has installed a white noise machine which cancelled out pretty much all chatter or automotive noise. This apartment is very roomie and manages to feel both large and cozy at the same time. Pretty much anything you may need is available...microwave, stove, washer/dryer, etc. are there if you need them. David was an excellent communicator and was very quick to respond when I had questions. I will definitely stay here again when I return to Richmond.

    Christopher2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • I love this place because the apartment is huge and location is walking distance to everything. Plus David is such a great host, I’d recommend any of his places but this one is my personal favorite.

    Stephanie2020-01-28T00:00:00Z
  • Found it to be a very convenient location . The place was antique and clean. Great hospitality. Would definitely stay again and recommend this place.

This space is walking distance to restaurants, museums, breweries, and the lively Fan District. We think you'll find it comfortable for any trip you have in mind, and we aim to make you feel at home during your stay.
There may be other guests during your stay, but you may have the whole house to yourself.
  • John was super prompt on replying to my queries. The place is designed to be comfortable for short or longer stays -- laundry is available, some supplies for making coffee etc. I didn't need those but it was so good to know that was available. John and Samantha also put together a mini area guide, super welcoming for someone new to the area. The place is well located too, away from the busyness of town but only a 10min drive (or a walk and transit) to MCV etc. Will stay again!

    Chew Lin2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • John’s house is warm and welcoming. Smells clean and doors are secure. The bed is delicious; I’ve already booked my next four stays. Thanks again!

    Stacy2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • This room is spacious with 2 closets and the en-suite bathroom makes it feel like your own apartment! Note that the two windows face the main street (the little bit of noise didn't bother me or disturb my sleep at all) and the mattress is a bit on the plush/softer side but that's the style I like (though I could see someone who likes a firm bed wishing it had more firmness to it). The bathroom was super clean and great communication from John and keypad entry on main door and room door made things so easy! Would definitely stay here again

My place is ten minutes walk from downtown, in the Churchill Historic District. Jefferson Park is across the street with workout equipment overlooking the city. There are many restaurants in easy walking distance with the famous Alamo BBQ just a block away. You’ll love the neighborhood and the cozy bed with blackout conditions when you close the doors. The neighbors are friendly but are sometimes noisy. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers.
I work from my home and value open space and clean lines over possessions. I spent a lot of time in Japan and absorbed some the aesthetics of home decor there.
Churchill is an old neighborhood with distinct architecture and history. Patrick Henry gave his famous "Give me liberty, or give me death" speech just up the street at St. John's Church. The streets are lined with full trees and the sidewalks are paved with funky old bricks. Neighbors always say hello. There are several acclaimed restaurants within easy walking distance like the Roosevelt, Proper Pie, Alamo BBQ, and Dutch & Company. You can also walk down to the clubs, bars, and restaurants of Shockoe Bottom.
  • Great location, great communication and just right for one or two people for a short stay.

  • Great Location, Great host, Great Price!

    Ari2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice place in a great location. Cute, clean and affordable. We had a great stay here! There’s a lovely park just across the street with a great view of Richmond, and one is very close to the downtown area as well. Would stay here again and would recommend!

    Rebecca2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • This place is awesome for discovering Richmond! We loved that Sub Rosa Bakery was right down the street - we went every morning! Will was an great host and the bed was super comfortable as well!

    Cecilia2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Great cozy spot. Had everything I needed. Upstairs neighbors were a bit loud but kind of got used to it. Cheers.

    Zachary2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • Will’s place is a really good spot for the adventurer. No fancy bells and whistles, but perfect for hanging out after a long day or night on the town.

    Connor2020-01-28T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean, cool and quirky! Will was welcoming and has a very convenient place close to a absolutely everything in Richmond! Cute neighborhood as well!

    Selena2020-01-23T00:00:00Z
  • Will's place is in a very convenient location-close to downtown, close to museums, convenient to the interstate for easy access to many different parts of Richmond, and in a trendy neighborhood with wonderful, raved-about restaurants, coffee shops and bakeries. His instructions were very detailed and clear and we didn't have any issues at all with parking, check-in, or check-out. The space was clean and had all everything we needed for a 3-night stay. A great value!
