  • We really loved staying with Julia. She was incredibly helpful, she even offered to drive us to a local swimming hole on a particularly hot day! She had tons of useful info, a kitchen stocked with breakfast goodies, and a nice peaceful place to stay. We ended up preferring Kittery to Portsmouth, it felt much more low-key, less tourist-y and the food was amazing, but if you like a nice walk Portsmouth is easy to get to.

  • Julia was very responsive and extremely friendly when we met her to check-in. She showed us around and the place was a perfect little space. It was just what we needed for the night. Clean and she even left some breakfast items to grab in the morning. Close to downtown Kittery and Portsmouth, which is where we were headed.

  • Wehad a wonderful stay with Julia. She made sure my daughter had an air mattress even though I did not request one. The kitchen was well stocked. The place was roomy, comfortable and clean. The neighborhood was quiet with plenty to do nearby.

    Brian2016-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • Julia was very welcoming and kept in touch before my arrival, although my English phone didn't connect with American number. Stone Soup Chalet was welcomingly cool after my drive from Boston. It was as described, beautiful and comfortable, spacious and well appointed. Quiet neighbourhood, in a lil cul-de-sac, and walking distance to restaurants. Just perfect for me, as I toured around the lovely Maine Coast. Definitely recommend Julia's place. Will stay again if I come back to Maine . Thank you Julia !

  • Julia was a great host from start to finish during my stay from 5 February - 7 February 2016. On a day when Kittery received a measurable snowfall, I arrived to a shoveled driveway, clear entryway and clean apartment. Basic provisions are provided which was unexpected but also a nice touch after a few hours of travel. The bedding and pillows were quite comfortable and the apartment served as a comfortable resting place when not out and about exploring the local area. Being a downstairs unit, residual noises from above can be expected but certainly were no distraction to my wonderful experience. There is plenty of closet space, and Julia provides a warm delicious breakfast as well. I highly recommend as a reasonable hotel alternative!

    Greg2016-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • Julia was a very warm person and greeted us with a smile. The apt was clean and well kept, would definitely go again. Thanks, Julia!

    Dimitrios2016-06-07T00:00:00Z
  • Julia is an amazingly welcoming and helpful person. Both my girlfriend and I felt very comfortable in her lovely Maine apartment, and our conversations with her were a treat. What a great experience!

    Matthew2017-05-11T00:00:00Z
  • Julia's place is charming, neat and clean. It is in a great location. Julia was a wonderful hostess! She even got housing information for us because we told her we might look to buy in the area.

very few cabin/ cottages were ever built with the character of this one. this property also hosts weddings and other events on some weekends and yes we are pet friendly. see our website 7-continental for a ton of pics mostly related to weddings at this cool property. tons of art in various forms from carvings to recycled metal art and just interesting architecture. the inside is decorated in a Jamaican/African theme and loaded with interesting antiques and art
very quiet neighborhood and good people but you cant see any of them when the place leaves out
  • We had a wonderful stay at the awesome private cabin, the cabin was cozy and comfortable, and so unique! David and Barb were so welcoming and accommodating (we got in later than planned), and everything was just as described, if not better! Having the kitchen was great, and the property was beautiful. Looking forward to going back sometime soon!

    Sarah2016-05-02T00:00:00Z
  • My girlfriend and I spend two nights here and can definitely say it was an amazing location, even with it raining most of the weekend.

    Sean2016-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful spot !!! I didn't get to meet Barb, as I made my reservation VERY last minute but Dave was super awesome !!! Made me feel so at home and I loved how much pride he takes in their home and what they do. These folks put HEART in their Airbnb. Stay here for a very special experience. Don't miss it.

    Amanda2016-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing, magical little cabin with tiny treasures and details throughout the entire property. David and Barb gave us a personal tour of the property when we arrived. They live very nearby and are on hand if we wanted for anything, (which we did not because of their keen attention to detail!), but were also so respectful of our privacy. We wI'll definitely be back when we're looking for a quick, close to home get away.

    Ashley2017-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • David and Barb's cabin is a dream. Loads of space inside to hang and the property (size, outdoor seating, privacy, swings, hot tub!) is outstanding. Perfect for two of us, we had such a memorable time we are already planning a future visit for more than one night! Thank you David and Barb!

    Audrey2016-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • David and Barb's cabin is a wonderful getaway spot. Tucked away in the trees, the cabin is relaxing and pretty private. The house is decorated so nicely and there's lots to look at- loved the decor ! The yard is so awesome and it offers lots of relaxing options. there are comfortable swings to lay out in the sun, a hot tub beneath lit up birch trees , There are a couple of fire pits to choose from on the property , a large hangout area with gorgeous stone walls and built in tables for entertaining or enjoying some lunch. We can't wait to go back and highly recommend a visit. Portsmouth was 20 minutes away and there was plenty to do :)

    Jecheima2017-04-23T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect for a quiet, relaxing weekend away. The cabin is very private and has everything you need with a great gas fireplace. Our favorite part was the backyard lighting and hot tub. Portsmouth NH is only 20 mins away if you feel the need to be social. Will look to come back soon.

    Jacob2016-12-11T00:00:00Z
  • Very beautiful and well groomed property. The cabin has a great feel to it and the hosts are very friendly and inviting. Please take care of this jem!

  • I would definitely recommend this place to future travelers. It's in a great location for weekend getaways to explore New Hampshire. Steve was very accommodating and responded quickly to any questions we had about the surrounding area. The kitchen and bathroom are stocked with all that you'd need. Definitely recommend exploring Portsmouth and going on some hikes!

    Joseph2017-04-17T00:00:00Z
  • We spent a night passing through to Maine. We were happy we did because we discovered Portsmouth and ended up spending the morning there. Steve's place had everything thing we needed. He included a binder of trip ideas which was a nice personal touch. There were plenty of towels, blankets and cooking equipment and everything was very clean.

    Heather2017-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • Steve's place is so quiet and tranquil. I immediately felt comfortable in the apartment. The natural light that shines in made the apartment feel even more homey. It was extremely clean. If traveling in the area again, I would stay here in a heartbeat. Steve is great at communication. It was a great first experience with Airbnd.

    Elaine2017-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • so nice and secluded. Gracious host with good communication.

    Lynette2017-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • What a fantastic stay. Steve was attentive when necessary but generally hands off which I prefer. The space was amazing and super clean. Great stay and look forward to coming back again

    Tom2017-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • I would recommend this place to anyone traveling in this area. Very quiet and peaceful - and very well set up. The hosts were most attentive. A-Plus!

    Mary2017-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • A little slice of heaven. My only wish is that I could have stayed longer. Thanks for making my stay quiet and comfortable.

    Angie2017-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • Remote enough to feel secluded, and only a short drive to some absolutely wonderful shops and restaurants, Steve's studio is a gem! We arrived on a clear night and could easily see a sky full of stars, in the morning we were greeted by the friendly chickens. Although we didn't actually meet in person, I feel like we did. Steve was very communicative, which was reassuring as we drove into the New Hampshire countryside in the middle of the night, and his suggestions for local food and activities were unbelievably thorough. They have a binder! We have already talked about visiting Steve and Matt again sometime, so we can check out a few more of the recommendations, and meet their dogs.

  • This house is perfect for a family getaway. The kitchen was well-stocked with all the tools we needed, comfy living room, very dog friendly, large dining room table for our big group, and the beds and baths were just as described. The lake is just a short walk from the house with a small beach - perfect for just enjoying the lake view or launching kayaks. There is a very nice public boat launch just a couple miles away which we used frequently throughout our trip. This home is a peaceful getaway place, it's a half-hour or so from great antiquing in any direction, and Boston is close enough for a fun day trip. Thanks, Jason!

    Amanda2017-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • This house was very comfortable, well furnished and well stocked, including the kitchen. Carpeted bedrooms were great for traveling with small kids. Location was a perfect distance for us to get away for a wintry weekend but without having to drive all the way into the white mountains. Lake was beautiful frozen over.

    Alex2017-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • Although not located directly on the lake shore, the cabin was one street off the lake and had plenty of beach access. Really clean and quiet. Had everything we wanted and needed.

    Jon2017-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • Jason's house was excellent. Plenty of indoor and outdoor space to enjoy with everyone. Fire pit, horse shoe pit, grill, huge kitchen and ample seating- everything you could ask for. The open kitchen and dining area was great for cooking and large dinners. Living room was fun for lounging and we enjoyed the roku on the flatscreen. Everything was really clean and well taken care of. Beds were comfy and central air was wonderful. You could see the lake from the house and it was just a couple minute walk to the beach. We lucked out having the beach to ourselves both days and it made for a great day of cornhole, fishing and swimming. It was a great get away and we appreciate all the extra touches Jason's home provided. Can't wait to come back next summer!

2-story home in Somersworth NH. Private location but still only 20 min from Portsmouth NH. 3BR but can sleep up to 16 ppl (i.e. bunk beds, futons, couches, air mattresses etc). Finished basement w/bar. and 139" theater. Very large outdoor deck w/8 person hottub. Kitchen w/granite countertops; second dedicated barroom for relaxing. 6ft tiled walk-in shower. Large backyard w/games. Koi pond. Woods and walking paths. Covered patio off from basement for additional activities.
Great location for large, private gatherings. Perfect for bachelor and bachelorette parties. Private location (with 5 acres of woods) and a vast outdoor space for lawn games, BBQs, volleyball, horseshoes, cornhole, lounging in hammock, pitching a tent, enjoying a campfire, etc. Paths have been created through the woods with clearing and fountain. There is also a large koi pond and mini-waterfall on the property for quiet reflection. Note: there are 3 private bedrooms and 2 sets of bunkbeds - so a total of 10 people can sleep in a bed. Additional guests can use sofas, futons, and air mattresses to sleep (which I can provide). Plenty of towels, bedding, pots/pans for cooking. Additional needs/questions? Just ask.
Quiet, private location. Home is tucked away from from any main neighborhoods, so it is reserved. Typically you can be as loud as you want without issue (within reason). But I do have a neighbor around 800 feet away so please be courteous of he and his family after 1am (i.e. turn down the music so it's not cranking full volume). • Location of the property was convenient with easy access to the main highway. Lots of stores and restaurants near the location. Sean's property was huge enough for a small wedding with full access to the house for the whole weekend. Sean was accommodating with extending check out time after timely request. Would highly recommend this location and Sean as a host.

    MARGARET2017-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • Sean regularly checked up on us via text and we had a great time. Unfortunately, Sean was not there to greet us and had informed us that he would not be there to clean up the place prior to our arrival as he had prior engagements. We agreed that the group of 10 people overlapping with our stay would clean up after themselves. Sean graciously refunded our cleaning fee. The house is well equipped with fun activities and lots of space.

    Michelle2014-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • We rented Sean's home for the weekend and had a fishing charter out of Kittery ME on Saturday. The house was spacious and Sean was very accommodating. He also communicated regularly via cell and the Airbnb app. We got some great use out of the yard and fire pit, which Sean had stocked with wood and plenty of outdoor activities. He also provided plenty of blankets and air mattresses. Overall very happy with the accommodations and Sean throughout.

    Matthew2014-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • My friends and I, a total of 12 people, had a fantastic time at Sean's house! There was plenty of space for every one to sleep, as well as space for all kinds of fun activities - the game room is a lot of fun! We weren't able to use the hot tub as much as we would've liked due to it having just been shocked with chemicals; I'd recommend taking the time to check out this feature when you first arrive and air it out if needed. Otherwise, we had an awesome time and would definitely consider coming back again!

    Lisa2015-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Sean Dempsey - he's a great host. We arrived there and he greeted us and went over some things about how to work the sound system, the nearest liquor store, the closest beaches, etc. This trip was an awesome experience for my friends and I; one of the greatest trips we've had - and there's a big thanks that needs to go to Sean for letting us stay at his place. Some things that were just awesome about the house - the outdoor jacuzzi was key. We had stayed for a couple days during pretty warm weather but scattered thunderstorms. Jumping in the hot tub in the rain with a cooler full of beers with all of your friends was awesome. Did I mention? Sean also left us a cooler full of beers from the last group that stayed. So naturally, we payed it forward with a 10 lb bag of pancake mix, more than 30 beers, and half a bottle of fireball. All in all, I would definitely stay here again. The price can be a little steep with his cleaning fee, but if you get a group of 10 people or so, you're not looking a huge amount of money per person. The location is alright in the small town, but it's half an hour away from everything - the beach, hiking trails, Maine lobsters, Boston. But really, you don't need to leave - the piece of land is 3 acres with plenty of woods to explore and things to do. Sean pretty much provided everything we needed for our stay - but we came with $300 worth of food and ended up leaving more than half of it for the next group. If you're looking for a nice house you can enjoy a weekend with some good company, this is definitely where you want to be. Thanks again, Sean!

    Bryan2014-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • I was looking for the perfect place to have my brothers bachelor party and found this gem. Sean was very helpful and has the most beautiful home anyone could ask for. His house was perfect for the bachelor party - great hot tub, entertainment center, and enough beds for everyone in the party. And the horseshoes was perfect surprise as well. Sean was the most well mannered and overall great guy I've ever had for an air b&b experience that I would definitely like to return to this place. Whether you're looking for a weekend getaway or having a great party this is your place!

    Thomas2017-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • Thanks to let us live in your house, It was perfect for our 2 family (4 adults and 5 kids). The kids like the gaming room, the badminton and the vast outdoor space. The outdoor deck is very safe. The hottub is perfect for the parent to relax when the kids are sleeping. The house is perfectly located near (least 30 minutes) of a full of family activities (beach, zoo, amusement park, water park. shopping). Sean was very friendly. We had a great summer vacation in his house.

They were out too so I told them it wasn't too late so come on over. They gave us a warm welcome and showed us a few things around the house we should know.Everything was the way it's described online. Sue and Ron were great about communication and very welcoming and eager to help. Kayaking was great. It's an easy trip to places like Portsmouth, Portland, and local hiking areas.

  • We had a great time at Sue and Ron's. We were coming in mid-week and a little late but they were great letting us know exactly what needed to happen to check in. The location was fantastic and having the ability to swim and kayak on the lake just a few steps away was amzing, as was the proximity to so many beautiful spots in New Hampshire and Maine. Ron stopped by to make sure we were all set and they were great at communicating with us throughout. If we make it up that way again we would love to stay there!

    Brett2017-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed meeting Sue and Ron. We used the kayaks they provided and swam in Lake Baxter across the street as well. Everyday we explored from the White Mountains, to Kennebunkport, to Portsmouth, and more.

    Susan2015-06-06T00:00:00Z
  • Sue and Ron were amazing hosts and very helpfull. We felt at home long before arrival and once there we had everything we needed. The house was a perfect space for a holiday and close to lots of awesome things to do. We spent full days snowboarding, antique hunting and relaxing by a fire. It was quiet and private and a great expierience all round. Thanks again you two. :) I am trying to give a 5 star rating but the app seems to default to a 1 star (air B&B please adjust this for Sue and Ron) My rating is 5 regardless of what the app says.

  • Sue and Ron have turned a dilapidated cottage into a gem, as they are themselves. Very friendly folks in the neighborhood too, a community feel. Beautiful nature. No guest will leave without regret that time has flown by.

Year Round Log Cabin Home on Quiet Sandy Lake Front. 30 minutes to Portsmouth / Seacoast, NH. Private beach steps from cabin with grass area including a fire pit on the water. Front deck overlooking the lake with an additional screened in front porch. Open concept main living area with flat screen TV, WiFi, Cable, couches and high ceilings with skylights. Recently updated kitchen and bathroom. Master bedroom has own private entrance with water views. Paddle boards, canoe, kayaks etc
  • great trip. perfect location. the equipment to use on the lake was fantastic - kayaks, paddle boards. very comfortable home.

    Tamar2017-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • We loved renting this cabin during the last week of summer and over Labor day before school begins for our kids. My husband and I stayed with our two kids (10 and 6). They loved canoeing on the lake (the house also has kayaks but our 6 yr old is too young to be alone) and the house had life jackets as well! The house had everything we could need - the kitchen was well stocked and there is a grill and fire-pit. I think our favorite activity as a family was the fire by the lake at night. The road leading up to the home is rugged - we were perfectly ok with it in a minivan in the summer but if you get here in the winter I would think you would need a 4-wheel drive. There were more than enough beds and the bunk bed has a large double on the bottom as well as a spare bed in the master. The house itself has many updates - nice bathroom (great water pressure and hot water which can be a problem in some homes) and kitchen.

  • Mark was quick to confirm our dates and then welcome my sister and me. He made it a priority to help us enjoy our stay, even before we arrived, because he knew it was a special occasion for us. He wanted to know what we needed to make our visit home to NH a good experience. We arrived late in the evening so Mark made the living room bed up so we could come in and just crash. We were immediately taken, when we entered the RV, with how cozy, clean, and adorable it was. Mark had gone to the trouble of furnishing the RV with a coffee pot and coffee because he knew I liked coffee in the morning. There wasn't anything that we needed and didn't have. The first morning Mark emailed us to ask us to join his family for breakfast. We didn't because we were sleeping in, but this is how we were treated the entire week's stay. Our privacy was never compromised. We communicated through AirBnB when we needed to. Mark always checked in this way. We were gone most days, into Portsmouth and up to the mountains, but stayed in at least one day. We had the convenience of an old country store nearby for anything we needed that day. The RV setting was quiet and peaceful and included hiking trails. Near the end of our stay, Mark wrote to us that we were welcome back at any time. We love the Kellehers and feel the same way. They are the kind of hosts from whom we want to rent. They are friendly, warm, and respectful. We look forward to returning.

    Sheila2016-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • The camper was a great place to spend the night after a long road trip. It was very clean, comfy and stocked with all sorts of snacks and supplies. Mark was very friendly and met us right when we arrived. Would definitely stay again!

    Katie2017-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • What a nice place and a nice family! My husband and I loved our stay in the RV. It's so clean, tight, well-maintained, cute, comfy, and cozy. The bed, which I was worried might not be a "real" bed, IS a REAL queen bed, and is extremely comfortable. In fact, we had trouble getting up on our last day because it was so comfortable and quiet and serene at the RV. Mark is the consummate airbnb host! No stone is left unturned to provide the best possible experience for his guests. He was so helpful and available, and yet left us completely to enjoy our privacy. And the amenities in this place? Forgetaboutit! Farm fresh eggs! Extra pillows! Games! Frozen burritos! Shaving cream! You name it. You may choose this place for its affordability, but you will return because it is simply a downright great airbnb experience.

    Lara2017-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • It's a great stay to relax and be away from city for a weekend! Mark is really nice and helpful. Chicken eggs are great!

  • We enjoyed our stay in the cool 90s RV which is exactly as described and super clean and organized. Your were a great host, Mark, and we appreciated the many thoughtful touches and treats that you provided. All best wishes!

  • This was my 1st trip with Airbnb and its was fantastic! Mark was a great host; thoughtful, informative about local activities, respectful of our privacy. Mark has set a very bench-mark for future hosts to meet. Camper was as described ; very clean, very comfortable, well stocked with snacks and necessities, including fresh eggs, delicious. Great vacation!!

    John2017-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • This was great for the same price or less of a private room, but here you get the whole space. The place was as presented clean well stocked and quiet. Mark was a great host and he is very friendly and welcoming, he left me some eggs from his chickens and some other little add ons that just said welcome. There gas grill outside the trailer that is very clean, the wi-fi works well also. Overall this is a great place to stay. The bed is the best!

Our Airbnb room has a full bed, mini fridge and microwave with private bath down the hall. We are in a wooded area, 5 minutes from Route 202, 25 minutes from UNH, 20 minutes from Dover and 30 from Portsmouth. The room is simple, but perfect for someone working in the area and in need of a comfortable place to recharge. All organic bath products are available for you as well. We have a three year old lab mix that is very loving but is not allowed in your guest space :)
Guests find our space perfect if they are busy during the day working or out on a New Hampshire adventure. Our home is quiet, and the space set up so you can get in and just crash. A small area is set up with fridge, microwave, place settings and snacks so you can relax with a book or utilize the wifi.
We are just a walk away from Ayer's Lake. It's a beautiful, pine filled walk to the lake or just a few minute car ride to the boat launch.
  • Kristen and Paul are great hosts! We stayed with them for two nights. And everything was perfect! Their house was easy to find and everything was exactly as described. The room was very clean and we appreciated to have our own fridge. We definitely recommend staying with them.

  • Kristen and her family are very friendly, their dog is such a sweetheart! The room is spacious, clean and comfortable. The house is in a quiet residential neighborhood, however it is pretty close to major roads. I would recommend it to all travelers passing through the region.

  • Kristen and Paul were lovely hosts, and we loved meeting Puck and Madeline! The room was comfy and just what we needed for the night.

  • Our stay with Kristen was wonderful, comfortable room with all of the essentials. We were in desperate need of a last minute place to stay and Kristen responded right away.

    Michela2017-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Kristen, her husband Paul, and her dog Puck were all extremely welcoming. When we first arrived Kristen greeted us by the car and helped carry in bags, a kind gesture that made us feel very welcomed. Since we have been on the road for a while, they let us do laundry and cook in the kitchen, as well as set up the room with popcorn, tea/coffee, and muffins in the morning. (The room in the picture looks a little dark but it is a very comfortable room and nice house.) We've stayed at about 6 airbnb's on our trip, and this was by far our favorite. Definitely would recommend, and stay again if we're ever in the area!

  • Carol, Andy, Justine, and J were all really nice and awesome. My boyfriend Phil and I had a great time staying in Lebanon and were able to find a nice place to have dinner nearby in Rochester, so this location, though relatively remote, remains close by some good places to eat and hang out. Carol is an excellent baker and baked us blueberry cake for breakfast as well as buying us all the breakfast ingredients we requested. The whole experience was really nice and relaxing and Phil and I got to spend some awesome time together, meet some really nice people and get use of a kitchen and living room to cook in and chill out in.

This lakefront house is in a very quiet relaxing neighborhood with Hannafords, Walmart, Home Depot, Pharmacy's and restaurants all within a 10 minute drive into town.
  • Their house sits on a beautiful lake, home to wildlife like loons, fish, and even a bald eagle. Kayaks are provided, it was a very enjoyable experience. The inside of the house is clean & beautiful as well with adorable personal touches. The bed was very comfy. They have a HUGE selection of DVDs and board games available as well. Also, their pets are super friendly!!

  • This is the best Airbnb that we have ever stayed in! Lakefront property meant a fire down by the water and sunrise kayak in a kayak provided by the host. The hosts were fun and we spent the night getting to know them - taking about local disc golf courses, their jobs, and more! There are great hikes in the area that the hosts were able to advise on. Also an awesome disc golf course 30 minutes away! Wonderful stay! 10/10 would recommend!

Rob was home when I arrived and was pleasant and welcoming, made me feel like an old friend. As a back-up plan, he had provided me with a security code for the door lock in case he wasn't home when I arrived. The house is neat and clean, room was cozy, neighborhood is quiet - perfect for my needs. Would stay there again.

  • John is a wonderful host who provided our family with one of the best vacations we've had. His lake camp is comfortable, serine, and perfect for a family. We spent the majority of our time outside. Perfect blend of sun and shade in the yard and the neighbors are wonderful, friendly people. You have to bring your own drinking water and be mindful of not using more water from the faucet than necessary to shower and wash dishes, etc due to their being a water tank with no leach field so it requires pumping. We stay d for 5 days days and didn't need it to be pumped during our stay. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need to make and enjoy a meal, including full fridge with freezer and big stove. We mostly cooked on the grill outside. Highly recommend this rental for an enjoyable and relaxing time. We hope to be back!

  • Perfect place for a family and friends gateway. Location is the best. Very calm surroundings, also family oriented place. Private beach with a little boat for fishing! There was plenty of patio furniture outside where we could enjoy the sunset. Fully equipped kitchen which I loved. We had 4 adults an 2 toddlers and we stayed for 2 days: we had enough water and did not run out. The neighbors are sweet and friendly. Children had so much fun in water and on the swing set. Communication with John was so easy and quick. We forgot an item at the camp he contacted me the very next day offering to mail it to me. All people in my party would love to come back and bring their folks to this perfect gateway.

  • Excellent family friendly camp directly on a beautiful lake. We had 2 adults and 3 young kids and we all really loved this camp. It's nice sandy swim-friendly spot on Ayers Lake. Great kayaking and fishing. Nice large outdoor space with kids playset, volleyball, amazing campfire spot at the water's edge, picnic tables etc. Inside is nice with a big well-appointed kitchen and 2 bedrooms. The kids loved the little bunk/cubby beds. John was a good host providing all the info we needed.

  • Chelsea was an extremely attentive and gracious host. She made sure an questions I hide before and during our stay were promptly answered and had everything about the area and house mapped out in both an email and a handwritten note (she included instructions on household items, local attractions accompanied by directions and prices, and nearby restaurants she recomended). The house was adorable and very clean, the backyard was big with a nice porch and fire pit, and the location was perfect. I would highly recommend staying here!

    Alyssa2017-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • Chelsea keeps a neat place in this ranch by a pond. The yard was spacious, and there's plenty of space on the deck. Downtown Dover isn't too far away and Portsmouth is really accessible. My family was very comfortable and easily found everything we needed. The washer and dryer was a plus especially for parents of infants. The flat screen tv came in handy on rained out beach days. Would definitely recommend this place to family and friends!

Feels remote, but actually close: 5 min to Dover, 13 min to UNH, 20 min to Portsmouth, 30 min to Ocean, and 1 hr to the White Mountains. In a peaceful rural setting with wooded trails to Cocheco River right in the backyard. Great for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, families (we have anything you might need for an infant), groups, or temporary living.
This is a brand new custom build home with great features. It's in a private, quiet neighborhood. You'll love it here! Your room even has it's own heating zone! The room is large enough that we can easily provide up to two additional queen air mattresses for a larger group or if you just want separate beds - plus there is an additional room attached for more space & privacy. Two living rooms, kitchen, office, laundry, porch, deck, and fire pit are also available to you, so you'll feel right at home here and have all of the amenities that you're used to.
We live on a newly constructed, private, shared road with only 2 other neighbors. We are surrounded by woods and it feels like we are far out in the countryside, but we're only minutes outside of downtown Dover. It's the best of both worlds!

  • Room and bath is just as pictured. Clean and new. Rob and Lindsey are a precious couple and we felt right at home and got an amazing nights sleep! Highly recommend! My tall son used the bed and I slept on the blow up which was comfortable. Thank you!

  • Their house was really nice and clean. They were nice and friendly. We liked the cookies that they gave to us, and the cat was really friendly. The bathroom was also clean and big. They let us to use the living room area for organizing our stuff.

  • Rob & Lindsey are wonderful! I would highly recommend staying with them. There house is maximum of a 5 minute drive to downtown Dover and so close to many other wonderful places, as it states in their post. Their backyard is a treat in itself as it parallels conservation land. They went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and made us feel right at home. Their cat Toby is also a love nugget. Definitely would stay again. Thank you.

  • This 1 bed 6 person room is definitely equipped to host you and any type of traveling companion. It was so clean and peaceful. The room is giant and they put out an air mattress for my recruiting partner. The beds were very comfortable. Definitely stay here !

  • Stayed here for a couple weeks when we first moved to Dover for work - Veronica was fantastic and helped us feel comfortable and settled after driving across the country. Veronica was very communicative, the apartment is clean, and she just gives you all the tools you need to be comfortable and gives you the space to enjoy your time. Would highly recommend!

    Cozy Room in Dover

Great for singles, or couples of all genders, from all walks of life. We are 45 minutes south of Portland; 25 minutes north of Portsmouth; 12 miles due west—as the crow flies—from York Maine beaches, 10 min from Dover, NH & Spittin' distance from Rollinsford. Off the beaten path on 13 acres. This 14' X 14' cottage is rustic, featuring a dry "Loveable Loo" toilet. (Beats going to an outhouse at night.) 50 feet away in the main house is a shower and a flush toilet available for guests to use.
What makes this space unique is that we are at the delightful end of a gravel road surrounded by trees and field. Except for the occasional train that rumbles through, or flies by, depending on whether it's the Downeaster, or a freight train, It's a pretty quiet area. And just so there is no confusion, the tracks are about one hundred and three feet away from the cottage, that's one third the length of a football field. (If you are a light sleeper or if you think the occasional train would bother you--might I suggest bringing earplugs.) If you're trying to finish writing that book, or are an artist working on a painting, want to do plein air, or just want some serenity away from the hustle and bustle, and noise of city life, this place is certainly serene enough to hear yourself cogitate. Birders, bring your binoculars. You may catch a glimpse of a colorful rose breasted grosbeak, or hear the laughter of a Pileated woodpecker. The Eastern Blue birds like the real estate here and you may see them feeding their clutch in the nest boxes. Occasionally a doe and her fawn may walk through to feed on apple drops in the fall at the small orchard behind the cottage. There is a hammock for daydreaming and the back field is tent friendly, and great for stargazing. There is also a small fire-pit out back. Feel free to gather up some of the dead wood along the edges of the property to enjoy toasting marshmallows or fire gazing.
We are just a mile outside of South Berwick where there are 3 local restaurants; Thistle Pig; Isidore On the Rocks, and Fogarty's. There are also a few fast food establishments, Dunkin Donuts; Aroma Joe's; Subway; a take out Chinese food; as well as a small market, Natures Way, in town center that sells a little bit of everything. South Berwick House of Pizza has eat in, take out, or delivers, and menus are available in the cottage.
  • I was only there for a quick stay, but Gail's cottage was perfect for what I needed-- a comfortable bed to sleep in for the night before a big race. It is definitely "off the beaten path" (though still pretty close to town!) and Gail's directions were flawless from beginning to end, so I had no trouble at all finding it, and she was there to greet me as I pulled in to give me a quick tour, including instructions on the Lovable Loo (which I had been a little nervous about-- but it wasn't bad at all!!). New England can have some big temperature swings this time of year, so I also appreciated that she had clearly put thought into all possible temperature situations in the cottage-- air conditioner, a space heater, extra blankets-- anything I could have possibly needed to be comfortable was there, and she made sure I knew where they were and how to use them. Though I had to leave very early the next morning, she had baked some apple muffins (with apples from her own tree!) and left them for me, so I had a delicious breakfast to go as I headed out. Thank you for your hospitality, Gail!

    Kristin2017-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Gail's was great. We were about 15 minutes from the vintage bizaar (the reason for our trip) and had relatively easy access to restaraunts. The description of the cabin was very accurate and house rules were reasonable - pretty laid back. Was a nice, quiet stay (other than the occasional train - as she stated). The extra special touches with local honors, sugars, etc was very nice to see as well. Not to mention the fresh baked muffins she made for our arrival.

    Emily2017-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • This tiny cottage was perfect for our yearly romantic vacation. Love that there was a mini fridge and coffeemaker! Two necessities of life!

    Samantha2017-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • Had a short stay with Gail and everything was fantastic. It was a great escape from the city. Gail is a great host and really knows how to treat her guests. Make sure to try her muffins!!!

    Christopher2017-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful rustic little spot. Gail is an absolute sweetheart.

    Andrew2017-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • Fabulous spot! Great opportunity to be close to the earth and have a lot of creature comforts met at the same time. Gail is a very thoughtful, kind and generous host. I really appreciated her attention to details that made the cabin a very comfortable, liveable space even for an extended (5 night) stay and I could have easily stayed on much longer had I the time.

    Sheila2017-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to get away from the busyness of life. Secluded location but still close to many things including the ocean.

    Chuck2017-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • I had a lovely stay at Gail's. The cottage is accurately described, and Gail is warm and friendly. The cottage was very clean, smelled wonderful (faint scent of essential oil or perhaps herbs- nothing overpowering and was quite nice), and the bed/pillows were comfortable. The dry loo was very convenient, and both it and Gail's inside bathroom were also immaculately clean (plus nice towels and soap!). Gail went out of her way to boil me eggs for breakfast because I mentioned I liked them (and they were fantastic- local/organic/free range). The property is also very peaceful and inviting. It was wonderful hearing the birds chirp in the morning. I left Gail's feeling well rested and rejuvenated and I certainly hope to stay again.

Our home is tucked away off of Washington Street and feels secluded though we are almost in downtown Dover. Our home was built as a warehouse 100 years ago and was converted to a residence about 10 years ago. The apartment has a separate entrance from the rest of the house. The space is light and airy, both rustic and contemporary, with old floors and exposed rafters. We are a short walk to downtown restaurants and the train to Boston or Portland, Maine.
Dogs are OK. We have one that is friendly, and a huge secluded yard, but no fencing.
  • We adored the private, spacious apartment. All the amenities of home on a secluded street, yet close (within a mile) to shops and restaurants in the cute little town of Dover. We had been looking for somewhere in Portsmouth, but with everything there booked up, we really hit the jackpot with Jessica and Doug's place!

    Kim2017-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • Warm greeting, beautiful area. Jessica led us to the apartment and upon entering we were so impressed--the pictures are good, but experiencing the space in person was even better. The decor is charming and the details are unique and memorable (freshly ground gourmet coffee, hand soap that smelled so good I wanted to eat it, and the note on the bookshelf to feel free to take any book home with you.) The overall impression it left for me is that this place was *beyond* comfortable. Perhaps the most memorable aspect of the stay is the warmth and care Jessica has put into the place. One of our guests asked for an iron as we made our way to dinner, and upon return--there it was. Little touches like that everywhere made it feel like a close friend had prepared the place for your stay and wanted you to feel at home. All in all, it almost makes me want to find some excuse to come back to Dover, whatever it might be, so that I can come back for another stay. Highly recommended. This place feels to me like what Airbnb is all about.

    Frank2017-05-20T00:00:00Z
  • Jessica's place was fantastic for me and my two children to stay for 2 nights. It was private and secluded, yet within easy walking distance to the downtown area with a children's museum, the library, the train station, and plenty of restaurants. The space itself was spacious, clean, and modern with tons of natural light and a huge yard surrounded by woods and the train track. The train noise didn't bother us at all, but it is quite close; otherwise, the only sounds we heard were the birds. Although we never met in person, Jessica was extremely responsive before and during our stay, and I highly recommend this property for anyone visiting the seacoast area.

    Natalie2017-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • From the photos online Jessica's place looked pleasant, pretty and convenient. But in real life it exceeded our expectations. It was well-designed, attractively furnished, and scrupulously clean. It was also provided with extra touches: beautiful art on the walls, interesting books, freshly ground local coffee and balsamic vinegar in the pantry. The bed was super-comfortable. It was delightful to awaken early and sit with a cup of tea gazing out over the woods behind the house, then at the end of a long cold wet busy day return to the glowing warmth of this pretty retreat. We were sorry to be staying only three days and would happily return.

    Sheila2017-04-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful and relaxing weekend away at Jessica's airbnb. The place itself was very cute, fully stocked with games, the staples for cooking (utensils, dishes, spices, oil, etc), and soaps and shampoos. The yard was large and the flower gardens were so lovely. We took the weekend to go hiking and check out all of the local breweries and cideries and were not disappointed! This place is an excellent location to walk into Dover and check out the town, and only a short drive to many things to do Thank you for a great weekend!

  • This place was just what my boyfriend and I were looking for! We really liked the trains and location. The space had everything we needed.

  • We had a blast staying with Mike. He accommodated our two dogs and made us feel at home. Very charming home in a great neighborhood--we loved walking to town every day and testing out the local coffee shops. We met some great people who all loved dogs and stopped to talk and pet our boxers. Felt like we fit right in and we loved the easy drive to Portsmouth. It was our first time to NH and up through Maine and it was one of the best vacations we've had. Beautiful weather and we made friends the whole time. Mike was super helpful with places to check out and recommendations for dinner and he even fed us dinner one night, which was super sweet. We had an awesome time and I would recommend staying here to anyone looking to escape to the quiet charm of NH.

  • Mike's house is bright and cheery and is in a quiet area close to downtown. I think the pictures didn't quite convey how nice the house is. Mike greeted us and made sure we had everything we needed.

  • Delighted experience. Mike's home is perfect. We went in Dover for the Sea2summit triathlon and we had to wake-up very early. It was very comfortable and the house is splendid. Mike was kind and help us find a restaurant that was appropriate foor us (the pizza place, a must to go). The house is at walking distance from dowtown. Tx Mike See you next year.

    Jean-Francois2016-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Mike's place! Mike was super communicative and responded to my messages immediately. He was friendly and helpful when we arrived, but also stayed out of the way and gave us our space. The room was clean, spacious, and bright. Very comfortable bed and a new A/C unit in the window. The bathroom is down the hall but with no one else using the second floor, it feels private. The house is on a beautiful street that is peaceful and quiet. We would definitely stay there again!

    Lianna2016-07-05T00:00:00Z
