  • We had no problems with the hosts instructions on getting into the house and guest cabin. The kitchen was well equipped and the cottage was beautiful. We spent the afternoon sitting out on the back deck painting pictures of the yard. We had a relaxing beautiful escape. Hope we can do it again.

  • We had a wonderful stay at Michael's beautiful home! We were so pleased with the house - it was better than the photos! It was a great meeting point for us, based in Montreal, and our friends in Toronto. We enjoyed a long walk in a nearby conservation area and then spent our time cooking (in a very well equipped kitchen) and sitting by the fire. Michael made a great effort to ensure the cottage was warm and we were all very comfortable!

  • Roslin Hall is a true gem. Its charming country chapel exterior belies its cool, stylish interior tastefully kitted out with all modern conveniences. Its neighbours - there aren't many - are working farms and local residences, so it is not remotely touristy. The bright and airy space is welcoming and after a night there, it really does feel like your own place. Michael is a hands-on (via technology) host who is at the ready to answer any query. We packed as though we were heading to a cottage but our supplies were superfluous as there is a full kitchen with dishes, cutlery and cookware - even fresh cream and milk in the fridge (plus an array of condiments), plus lots of towels and soap - even laundry. The grounds are pretty and perfect for star-gazing, lounging and morning coffee. Drives to Prince Edward County and local wineries are picturesque and add to the charm. We look forward to returning and would highly recommend it for a short or long term stay.

  • We absolutely loved staying here. The location was ideal. The renovation to the church is outstanding. Thanks!

  • Staying in the Church at Roslin Hall was magical. If you like design like we do, you won't be disaaponted. A great place to get away from it all in the most amazing setting.

  • Michael's description on airbnb is very detailed and completely accurate. He was even thoughtful enough to let us know that there might not be a measuring cup at the retreat because he knew we were hosting Thanksgiving dinner for our extended family. The retreat has a thoughtful combination of modern, high end finishes and eclectic decor.

  • Roslin Hall lived up to its pictures & then some! There were three of us and we had more than ample room in this beautiful one bedroom home to all enjoy a week in the countryside. We loved the decor, the bed was amazingly comfortable as was the pull-out couch. The kitchen had every dish, cup, pot or pan you might need to make a meal. There is a tranquility about the place that is so relaxing. We loved opening up the curtains each morning to look out over the backyard during breakfast. All in all, we couldn't have been happier!

    Lynn2015-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely loved Roslin Hall and the area. It was a beautiful location close to lots of scenic towns. PEC wasn't too far away so a day trip to wine country is amazing and exploring the nearby towns was fun. The best part was staying in and relaxing.

Perched in the Moira River, this 1930s converted grain storage building was part of an old stone grist mill. The 1000 sq. ft. wooden structure literally sits in the river on concrete pilings. It is just a few kilometers north of Belleville, Ontario.
The cabin consisting of three rooms: an open living room and kitchen combination and a bedroom that incorporates an open format bathroom will provide comfortable accommodation for two couples looking for a week or so of relaxed, laid back country life but very close to “civilization.” Amenities include the usual kitchen accouterments, a wood stove for cool evenings, wifi, a double bed, convertible couch, running water and a modest sound system. The bathroom has a composting toilet (don’t let that scare you, it’s easy to use and a whole lot nicer than an outhouse!).
My cottage is on a dead-end road and the Hamlet of Latta Mills is just far enough away from the actual City of Belleville to make it feel like you are in the country.
  • Gary was a great host. He met us when arrived and showed us around. We loved sitting outside overlooking the river. Its close to everything, but feels like being in the country.

    Janet2015-06-14T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing space! Gary was very nice and his river retreat couldn't be any cooler. We fished muskie, saw turtles and swam below the dam and enjoyed the unique view. Would definitely go back again.

    Nicole2015-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay in this lovely cottage . So nice to be right on the river next to the dam . Very relaxing . We only had 3 days and a wedding to go to , wished it was longer. A swim in the river was a lovely way to start the day. Very refreshing Gary was a great host , we met at his home and after showing us around he left us to it .He is very generous and interesting host With a great cd collection. We did have a small problem with the eco toilet , but all was sorted out very quickly by Gary . I recommend this place and would love to go again , maybe in the winter to check out the log burning stove next time.

  • Truly beautiful house! My family and I had a great time at Travis and Becky's house. They were nice enough to greet us and show us around when we arrived, explain everything and leave us toys for the kids. They also answered immediately when we had questions. The house is fully equipped and perfectly located on a nice and quiet creek. Perfect for family vacations or groups. My family and I will definitely try to go back!

  • A very pleasure place to stay for my family holiday. Strongly recommend this cottage

    Peggy2016-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • My family and I had the pleasure of staying at Parks Creek Retreat for the Labour Day long weekend. The location is close to the 401, yet feels like it is in a world of its own. This beautifully decorated spacious house was perfect for our 2 toddlers and a large group of 10 adults. It was fully stocked, clean, and had every amenity we needed. Did I mention it looked absolutely gorgeous? I can't stress that enough. We were already making plans of our next visit only 30 mins into the stay. I recommend the Irish Cream coffee from the coffee station as a must-try! Becky was a gracious host and was always available via phone or text. She gave us a tour of the property and went over all the do's and don'ts. I wholeheartedly recommend this location to any family who is looking for a true home away from home. Thank you, Becky. You'll see us again very soon!

  • We just got back from a weekend at this beautiful oasis and I couldn't have been happier with our stay! Becky was the greatest host and her resort was incredible!! This beautiful space had everything we needed for a fun and relaxing weekend with our kids and friends! The screened in room with the fireplace and hottub was the highlight of our trip! This room was the perfect place to spend our days/evening while listening to the peaceful sound of creek in the background! The resort was very clean and had everything you need for a comfortable stay! Being kid friendly was a bonus!! We can't wait to stay here again when the weather is warmer to try out the swimming hole!! We would definitely recommend this place to anyone! Thank you Becky.

    Amy2017-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • It was a great place and fun for the whole family (kids uncluded) We loved the creek in the back and the house was beautifully decorated

    Rowena2017-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • This was one of most unique cottage experiences we ever had. The place had everything we could have asked for. The highlight of the property is the picturesque stream that ran through the back of the house. And, Becky was a great host, was very helpful getting us acquainted with the place, couldn't have asked for a better host. All our guests really enjoyed the place and we will definitely be looking to rent it again sometime soon. Glad we found this gem of a place.

    Rakesh2017-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely fabulous girls retreat! The pictures don't do it justice - Stunning cottage with plenty of amenities! We didn't leave the cottage once. Spent our weekend enjoying the patio with huge table and sun umbrella, barbecued our dinner on a well equipped barbecue (the kitchen had more than we needed as well), a few of us dipped in the creek to cool down, and we spent time in the screened in porch enjoying the hot tub and hanging swing. Would definitely rent again!

    Melissa2017-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • We loved every minute of our stay at Parks Creek Country Retreat! The pictures don't to justice to the beauty of this gorgeous home and property. The house is modern yet rustic and beautifully decorated with log-themed gorgeous furniture. The property is huge and extremely secluded and private. The outdoor 8 person hot tun was wonderful and the sun room, hammocks and swings, incredible built in sound system in every room were just a few of the incredible amenities that made our stay so luxurious. We felt like we were in the midst of a secluded paradise and didn't want to leave. We will definitely be coming back here again. My husband and I have stayed at many beautiful air bnb's and we both hands-down agree that nothing came close to this property. Thank you!!

Cozy yurt in a private forest area. Walking distance to the cheese factory (ice cream, lunches, snacks), produce stands, and a park. Short drive to Madoc (groceries, beer/ LCBO, parks, beach, library, bakery, restaurants, etc). Perfect area for star gazing, long walks and bike rides. This yurt is in a camping setting, with no shower (stays over 3 days can use the house shower) or wifi but there is electricity, indoor camping stove, BBQ, mini fridge and clean drinking water.
The yurt is on the same 20 acre property as our house, but it is in its own secluded area in the forest. For guest stays over 3 days, you are welcome to come up and use the house shower/ bath. The yurt is all setup to cook meals both inside and out with all dishes and utensils provided . We have provided an indoor stovetop for the interior and a small propane bbq for the outside. The outside area of the yurt is in a secluded spot and includes a seating area, chairs, a fire pit and the game "cornhole". We encourage guests to pickup some firewood for the interior wood stove during the cooler months to heat the yurt. There are many places locally that sell big bags of spilt wood for $5. We do charge an extra fee for additional guests to cover supply costs and cleaning, but this is only applicable to additional adult guests. Families are welcome with no extra person fees. If you are looking to relax and take in nature then this is the place for you.
We live in an active farming community that has a large Mennonite and Amish population. Down every road you can find a produce stand, farm fresh eggs and other awesome organic goods. There are always tons of events happening in the small towns surrounding us and multiple farmer's markets every weekend.
  • This place is truly magical! It feels like you've entered your own little oasis in the woods. So cozy you have to experience it for yourself. Can't recommend highly enough.

  • #burttheyurt is a hidden treasure. Begin your adventure with a very short walk down a trail. Winding your way to a beautiful clearing where the yurt is situated. Hidden among cedars & other trees fire pit, seating and outdoor game are all part of the initial scene. Upon opening the door to the yurt....we were thrilled with the quaintness and quiet that surrounded us. All the amenities you could need. A comfy bed, quiet setting. We relaxed and enjoyed. I would highly recommend it for anyone looking to recharge their batteries. I slept like a baby all weekend!

  • I wanted a change from the usual camping/cottage getaway, and I am so glad I had the opportunity to experience the yurt life! I chose this place because it was easy to book, not too far of a drive from home and it was affordable! It's definitely one hell of a unique place to stay.. I thoroughly enjoyed my entire weekend while I was there. Alysia and Bill did an amazing job with putting together #BurtTheYurt!

    Bavittra2017-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying the 'Burt the yurt'. It is so much bigger than it even looks on the pictures. We loved the seclusion and quiet of the yurt. We had our toddler along and she loved it too! It was very clean and has all the basic necessities. We would stay here again without hesitation.

  • Such a quaint, private, and quiet spot to relax. Amazing first experience staying in a yurt. Felt cozy and safe in a heavy rain storm. It's a perfect balance between camping and a hotel stay, and would highly recommend it to anyone.

    Mandie 2017-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • Burt the Yurt was exactly what we were hoping for! And Alysia was a fantastic host, proving everything we needed for the weekend! I would definitely go back!

    Grace2017-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • The perfect picturesque getaway. Tucked into the woods, you adventure down a little path before coming to a clearing with the yurt. Multiple seating areas, including a fire pit and a dining/outdoor lounge area, that lights up beautifully at night. A cheese factory (cheese curds are crazy good) and local farmers produce stands are all within walking distance. They put together a useful welcome package to touch on everything there is to do in the surrounding area. The hiking trails are stunning. The hosts were everything you'd want a host to be. Gave us plenty of recommendations and made sure we had everything we could possibly need.

    Chris2017-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • The yurt is very comfortable, very clean, well equiped and in a quiet place. We enjoyed a lot this cozy place, even during that rainy day!

Secluded off grid cabin. Not remote but a very quiet and peaceful location beside the stream on our small hobby farm. Cabin is surrounded by woods and the good sized screened in porch overlooks the stream. Built in a 2016, the cabin was designed and decorated to reflect an earlier era. Suitable for one or two people, there is ample room to relax. No washroom, but a new, clean outhouse and if showering is desired, can be arranged in the house, for guests staying for two or more nights.
The cabin is about 300 Sq ft plus an 80 Sq ft screened in porch. The cabin is equipped with a lovely wood cookstove, several kerosene lamps and lots of antique and vintage articles. Included is paper towels, dish soap, cookware, dishes and cutlery, hand towels, wash clothes, a jug of water, coffee press, kettle,as well as some books and boardgames. We always have farm fresh free range eggs for sale
The area surrounding the cabin are forest and farm fields. Rural Stirling Rawdon is primarily a farming area
  • We loved everything about the cabin by the stream! John and Beth were fabulous hosts, we enjoyed meeting their horses and relaxing in the nature of their property. Our dog loved playing in the stream, and meeting the resident geese!

    Jenna2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • We adored our stay here! We were looking for a weekend getaway from Toronto and this was perfect. Very easy to get to and find. John and Beth met us as soon as we pulled up, walked us back to the little cottage (at 10:30 pm in the rain no less!) and showed us around. They already had some sweets set out for us on the table and they were delicious. The place was clean and well-supplied with a gas barbecue, barbecue utensils, and paper plates and cups for us to use. The outhouse is clean and well-maintained. They even have an electric light and a portable battery for you to use to plug in your phone (not that you'll want to use it much out here, watching the stream on the screened-in porch is much more fun). They've so clearly put a lot of effort into decorating this place and it paid off! From the kerosene lamps, old-style radios, the wood stove, and even the vintage food and cleaning supply boxes for decoration, this place looks like something right out of the early 20th century. John came out and helped us start a fire in the wood stove one night, and we got the hang of it ourselves the next morning. We even got to meet their geese and their horses, and our little chihuahua loved it too! If you're looking for attentive hosts and endless atmosphere, this place has it. We will definitely be back.

    Lauren2017-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • W wanted a quiet country night away and we got exactly everything we hoped for. John and Beth were wonderful hosts, very welcoming and with treats! The cabin was exactly as described. It is so charming and makes you feel like you're back in the early 1900's. The cleanest outhouse I've ever seen! And a campfire was just what we needed to relax for the evening. Definitely recommending to everyone and we will be back!

    Stephanie2017-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • John and Beth were amazing hosts. They made sure everything was nicely setup for us when we arrived. The attention to detail in how the cabin was decorated was very cool. They really went out of their way to make sure our stay was comfortable. The back porch was a relaxing place to hang out and we really enjoyed the fire pit. The coffee and muffins in the morning were a nice touch! I'd definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for a break from the city. I'm sure we'll visit again.

    Andrew2017-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • We were very well received by John and Beth. The place was idyllic and peaceful; just the kind of getaway we were looking for.

    Olivia2017-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • A great little cabin, with some very nice touches and finishes to make it unique! John and Beth are amazing hosts and went above and beyond in every regard, from taking a reservation on such short notice and staying up till 1am waiting for my arrival, and even lighting the stove to keep the place warm! Communication was quick and clear, the cabin was very clean and well stocked, a nice little gateway and place to relax.

    Javraj2017-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay in this cozy, peaceful cabin! The inside has everything you need and is absolutely delightful. The bed was super comfy, great set up and so nice to experience the calm of being off grid! You get the best sleep ever, it's so quiet :) Outside, it is a gorgeous environment that feels like being in a little nook within the heart of nature, surrounded by the creek and trees, it feels very private and secluded. John's communication was awesome, both beforehand and while we stayed at their place, he went out of his way to make sure we had all that we needed. Would recommend this place to anyone, thanks again!

    Lauren2017-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin is a sanctuary! We stayed for a week and thoroughly enjoyed the rainy days and the adventures into Belleville and surrounding small towns (check out the Aron Movie Theatre - it's adorable!). We loved the location of the cabin - a very short walk (minutes) from John & Beth's main house where you park; the build, decor, and furnishing of the cabin create an awesome, old-timey vibe. We were lucky enough to experience the wood burning stove that John and Beth recently installed - we did all our cooking on and in it (including delicious cast-iron nachos). There is also a BBQ but we did not require it with the stove now available. It is great and can keep you quite toasty. There is a beautiful fire pit area, too, where wandering ducks might visit. The screened in porch is great, and the outhouse was very clean and nearby (stocked with tp and hand sani). This cabin feels like deluxe glamping. The only recommendation we have is to think 'camping' when packing - the basic amenities are provided for you but bring your favourite games (there are some there), books (some there too!), maybe an extra blanket or sleeping bag for coziness, camping mugs and/or bowls, flashlights or headlamps... There are enough stores nearby to pick up what you might need should you forget something. We also highly recommend purchasing eggs if they are available - they are so delicious! The chickens are truly happy there! It is a sweet little spot that we would love to return to.

  • Will left a note for us on the door and came to greet us as soon as we called. We had a tour of the home and were welcomed. Will made our weekend getaway even more memorable by telling us about an Elvis concert that was happening later that day and arranged tickets for us. The Newton house is an amazing old Victorian home that has been tastefully preserved and decorated by Will & Tammy. The home alone is worth the visit. Tammy prepared a yummy quiche for breakfast and spent some time with us sharing their B&B experiences. We would highly recommend Newton house to anyone considering staying in this area..

  • Trudeau Park is a beautiful place! Casey, or one of his crew, came when we needed them and were pleasant to deal with!! The reason for the middle of the road rating is because of the lack of preparation done to the trailer prior to our arrival. 1 - Black Water tank NOT EMPTIED prior to our arrival which meant the toilets were FULL after our first night!! This caused a nasty stench throughout the trailer!! It could not be emptied without moving the trailer...this should have been done PRIOR to our arrival!! This resulted in us walking the 300/400 meters to the bathroom in the lodge!! No fun in the middle of the night!! 2 - Grey Water tank NOT EMPTIED prior to our arrival!! It could not be emptied without moving the trailer...this should have been done PRIOR to our arrival!! Other than that it was a great weekend at a GREAT place!! Casey and the Staff at the Park are great to deal with!! Would I go back?? If I was assured the trailer was 'good to go' absolutely!! But don't expect anything more than a dry bed!!

  • Wilma's place is really cozy. She keeps the house very clean and makes you feel very comfortable staying there. This is the best air bnb I've ever stayed at. If we go visit PEC again, we'll definitely stay at her place. The hot tub and her homemade muffins are a definite plus! Awesome host : )

    Sandy2017-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • This was an excellent BnB!. The beds were comfortable and there was a great selection of items for breakfast. There is lots of room because you use a big part of the basement. It includes a pool table, and use of hot tub. Beats going to a hotel!!!

    Janet2017-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • This room is in the basement; thus, not the best view. Host made an honest mistake and hadn't turn on AC before my arrival so air was not fresh. I had an exam the bext day so ended up not staying and wen to a hotel instead. Had I stayed I would've enjoyed the billiard pool! Also, the place was pretty clean!

    Peyman2017-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • Wilma's place was wonderful. She was very friendly and had so much to offer. There was a lot of attention to details in the decor, the room set ups and instructions. The bed & pillows were very comfortable (even better than some of the nicer hotels I've stayed at). Her dogs were so well behaved and adorable! There is truly nothing to complain about and I look forward to our next trip to Belleville so we can stay with Wilma again.

    Jessica2017-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • Wilma is a great host. The house is nicely decorated. Really love the furniture, cabinets and the atmosphere is cozy and warm. It's very clean and neat. Wilma is very nice to talk to and I love her stories. Her two dogs are super lovely and cute. I believe the breakfast muffins and cakes are Wilma's own bakery. They are yummy. We were running a bit late for check out because I have a baby with me, she is very flexible and accommodate us until we are all ready to go. Thanks Wilma! We would recommend her place for families, singles or groups. It's a five star stay.

    Mei2017-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • Wilma's place was beautiful. The neighborhood feels very safe, and the place is so we'll taken care of and decorated. The backyard is very peaceful. There was a nice assortment of food for breakfast and snacks! My husband loved the pool table and the Keurig coffee machine as he is a coffee monster, haha. We had a lot of fun.
