“Capers Epicurean is one of Rotorua’s most popular cafes. It’s been wowing its patrons with great food and coffee for over a decade and even won the Best Regional Cafe category at the 2017 New Zealand Cafe of the Year Award. Part of Capers’ appeal is that it’s open until 9 p.m. — making it an ideal pit-stop for the famished night owls who are yearning for a late caffeine fix.”

“The Indian Star Tandoori Restaurant is respected in the local hospitality industry. Since opening its doors more than a decade and a half ago, the venue has amassed a number of local awards for its food and service. An extensive offering of dishes for all customers — vegetarians, kids, seafood lovers, meat eaters, you name it — is one of its strongest draw cards. If you’re dining in with a group of friends, the set banquet menus will enable you to taste the restaurant’s best dishes, from the vegetable samosas, to various curries, among other Indian cuisine classics.”

“While the menu isn't huge, it is still quite difficult to choose among the tantalizing options but to make things even harder, they were also offering several nightly specials with even more great dishes. A must try is their mixed Italian salad that - every bite bursting with the fresh taste of vegetables with a wonderful light dressing - chock full of artichokes, onion, fresh and sun-dried tomatoes and more fresh local organic vegetables.”

“Great food and service close by to your stay! Just 1.7km down the road from your stay is The Landing Cafe. Their 2 chefs, Pete or Ratana have created a new menu and their food is legendary. It certainly pays to call and book as they can be busy or conversely if its a bit quiet they will close early. I visit there often and give this place the big thumbs up recomendation! ”

Pizza Place

“Classic and authentic Italian pizza made in a wood oven. Its owned by real deal Italians who know their stuff. Don't buy pizza here to take away.. this is thin crust and needs to be eaten on the spot and straight out of the oven. The restaurant is cosy (ie. tiny), but that's part of its charm.”
