“Best Beach in NYC. Clean beautiful and spacious. In August every year we see dolphins there and early September if you're lucky you can experience the Monarch butterfly migration. ”

Natural Feature
“This is our favorite local beach. It's becoming more popular and can get crowded on holidays and in the summer, however, it is such a large beach that even on crowded days, it's still great. In the summer months, there are food and shopping vendors set up. It's easy to drive to with a huge parking lot, or there is a bus. You can also take the Rockaway ferry and bus from there.”

Beach
“Riis Beach is a great place to meet new people, relax & enjoy NYC beach life. Easy to get to, take the 2 train at Nostrand to Flatbush, transfer to the Q35 bus, in front of Target to the last stop! ”

Park
“Also, outstanding open Ocean beaches, hiking rails, sports/picnics/art&craft festivals/food&craft beers (in season). One secret spot is Community theater (on Summer weekends) that rivals Broadway musicals by quality (not by crowds/ticket prices). Tickets must be reserved well in advance, therefore. ”
