Beach
“Yes they filmed "The Goonies" here!! My favorite drive up the hill and come around the corner for a "wow" view of the rugged coastline. Park at the bluff lot for a vigorous swithback hike down to lovely Blind Beach. This is also where the Kortum Trail begins by heading south on the bluff. Or keep driving and park in one of the lower lots for easier access to Blind Beach and Goat Rock Beach. Park in the north lot for a hike over to the Russian River mouth where you can usually observe large groups of seals and other wildlife, a magical place where waters converge. ”

“The Russian River Hideaway is about a 10 minute drive to Steelhead Beach (9000 River Rd near Mirabel Rd.; 7am-sunset; $7 per vehicle to park). Seasonal fishing and access to the Russian River for small craft such as drift boats, kayaks, and canoes. An excellent spot for birding, viewing river wildlife, and for picnicking. ”

“Pack your picnic and get ready for a great day. This beach is at a wide spot in the river, so easy current for swimming or tubing, and a lot of beach. There's a parking lot for the day, and a short walk takes you to this great spot. This is our very favorite place to go. You can pick blackberries, swim and picnic all day long. ”
