Castle
“Sortelha is one of the oldest, most beautiful towns in Portugal. It has kept its physiognomy all this time and is considered one of the best preserved. A visit to its streets and alleys, enclosed in a defensive ring and watched over by a lofty 13th century castle takes outsiders back to past centuries among medieval tombs, by the Manueline pillory or in front of the renaissance church.”

“Already taken a decade this house that occupies the first floor of an old building in the village of Sortelha, welcoming in its rustic style with wooden floors and stone walls, ceiling with wooden beams and sash windows. The kitchen is in the hands of Maria do Céu just over six years but is a century-old tradition of regional cuisine that is served here. Have fame game dishes which punctuate the hare rice, stewed venison, the stewed partridge and boar stew but no regrets who experiences the stew of lamb.”
