You’ll love Wrens Nook because it's a stunning, luxury Grade 2 listed historical Cottage, idyllically situated along a Cornish Lane, only accessible by foot, in true Poldark country. Pubs, restaurants, the beach and shops are in walking distance and Wrens Nook delivers authentic luxury, far reaching vistas, wonderful sunsets, peace and quiet. The outdoor spaces are gorgeous and our local child friendly beach, Trevaunance Cove, is a 1 mile walk. Ideal for couples or families with kids.
Live like the Poldarks for a week! This is true Poldark country and Wrens Nook is an original Tin Miners Cottage built in the 1700's. It's got loads of original features including the original sash windows, cupboards, stairs and wood panelling. PLUS we've added a good quality wood burner and a free basket of logs too so that you can cosy up during those Autumn evenings. Wrens Nook is particularly liked by honeymooners and in fact that is how our parents came across the property back in 1959. It was the start of a real life love story. There is a double bed in the original 1700's bedroom with a marvellous ensuite attached. There is a really good quality adult double bunk bed and mattresses in the room where the Tin Miners many children used to sleep. Recent renovations included a fabulous garden room, a new kitchen and a smart downstairs bathroom and utility room. We keep all 11 Poldark novels at the cottage and St Agnes was the inspiration for St Anns and Sawle, the village in the Winston Graham books. Read one while you are at the cottage. Idyllically situated on a narrow and twisting Cornish Lane that was built for the odd horse and cart, you park on Goonown Lane and begin your holiday with a walk along a lovely Cornish Lane towards the Cottage. You will immediately begin to relax as you see horses, sheep and cows grazing and you take in the long ranging views. It's a holiday where you can get that fit bit working for you! You can walk to pubs, shops and the beach so Wrens Nook offers you a different, more relaxed, view of life. There is a small parking space for a tiny car at the front of the house but driving down the lane is not for the fainthearted. It is 5ft 5in places and many cars get stuck!
St Agnes is a gorgeous Cornish Village with all the amenities that you need for a relaxing holiday. The beach, pubs, shops and restaurants are all in walking distance. Try the Railway for a Beer, Taste for Dinner, or visit the local butcher, baker and grocer for local Cornish produce. The Cornish Pasties at St Agnes Bakery are divine and there is also a local Pizza takeaway, a well stocked Spar and lots of other individual shops to browse in. To get to St Agnes, turn right from the front door up the lane, turn right at the end of the lane and then take the first left uphill into the Village. If you turn left from the cottage you can walk into Peterville or the beach. Turn left at the bottom of the lane onto Water Lane proper and follow the stream. At the end of Water Lane, cross diagonally to get to the beach road or pop to the Tap House for a beer! You will also see a Chinese Takeaway and the Peterville Arms.
  • We had a great time at wrens book. It's a dainty cozy cottage that is great to stay in especially on a rainy day! Coming from Australia we thoroughly enjoyed this English cottage experience. This was truly a lovely place to stay but please note that if you have a car it is extremely hard (basically impossible) to drive down the tiny lane that leads to the house. We had our family come and stay for a couple of nights and they have a 4 month old baby so parking at the end of the Lane was not ideal for them with their luggage as well. It was lucky they had a car small enough to squeeze down the lane! It is made known on the on the listing page as well so please be sure to note this if you are going to have a lot of luggage or have a small baby/child.

  • We had a lovely stay at Wren's Nook. We were a couple and had plenty of room. The Cottage has been done very nicely, with a lovely sunny dayroom and spacious bathroom. The location is quiet and peaceful. The owners had told us about the narrow access road, but we thought we would try it - and it really is narrow! Anything bigger than a small hatchback would struggle. Would recommend parking at the top of the road and walking the 5-10mins down the road, which itself is a lovely walk. Cottage had everything we needed, and is in a great location. Watching the sun setting behind the Cottage behind a disused tin mine was very memorable.

  • Wren's Nook is a fabulous cottage. We had a great time (It couldn't have been better). The town of St Agnes, a great beach and a variety of great walking routes were all close by. We wish we were still there!

  • This place is a little gem. Really nicely decorated. Great showers. Lane going to cottage is on the narrow side, my car was absolutely fine though.

    Stephanie 2017-04-29T00:00:00Z
  • Wrens Nook was exactly as described and couldn't have been better for my wife and I. The cottage was cosy and the lane quiet just a few walkers and riders but then only a 10 min walk to the village and the best pub the Railway Inn and Taste a great little restaurant. Then 20 min walk to the cove. Cottage has had some some really nice work done on it recently and we spent mornings sitting in the sun room all very nice.

  • For foreigners like us a week in beautiful Wrens nook give us a fantastic sense of English countryside. The house was cozy and clean and modern in terms of amenities. Peter and Ruth's carefully selected English vintage china was another thing we appreciated. We travelled around a bit only to realise that St Agnes was the cutest villlage we could find... Highly recommended.

  • We absolutely loved our stay. The house is superbly equipped, within walking distance of the beach, village and excellent pubs. We enjoyed coastal walks, an excellent meal at Taste and the St Agnes Head pub. St Agnes is a very pretty, friendly village, but does not get too busy.

    Joanna2017-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • We had an enjoyable & comfortable stay in stunning surroundings. Cornish roads are not built for large cars and the approach to the cottage is quite small. The walk to St Agnes is very quick and pretty. I've stayed in a b&b in St Agnes before but we prefer going forward to try and stay in a cottage like Wren's Nook.

Unique quirky en suite large double bedroom . Own entrance . Although attached to our house it's a self contained space .Telly with DVD player Wifi ( although Cornwall can be temperamental!) Tea , coffee and fridge. Fantastic space , right in the heart of the village . 3 mins walk to 2 pubs , restaurant , local shop and fantastic coffee house .1 mile from our beautiful cove although there are another 2 beaches a cliff walk away. St .Agnes is a truly spectacular place to just be !
    Perfect retreat for couples .
The spacious room is attached to my house , although we are mindful of guests you may hear out chatter occasionally ! We are situated on a residential road . This runs parallel to the main road in the village so everything is so close . A bit further down the road is a successful primary school which is undergoing a well needed extension so you will see some building work in their school grounds . This is due for completion this summer .
  • Great value and accurate description. Really easy to arrange a check-in, absolutely no fuss. Tnx!

  • Theresa's place was a gem for my wife and I. We were in Cornwall on a hiking trip, and bad weather meant we knew we would likely hunker down somewhere for several days. We were very fortunate to have found this place.. It not only gave us easy access to the Coast PAth, but the room itself was perfect. It is small, but for a couple of days it is everything you might want. Exactly as described - well, maybe better. Great value compared to other places in the area. Comfortable, warm, really, really quiet little town. Loved it. And Theresa is a great host. We would have stayed longer, but unfortunately when we realized how lucky we were to find this it had already been rented into the future.

    Jake2017-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • Well located for St Agnes. Visiting friends in the locality. Great shower, comfy bed, tea and coffee, hairdryer, ample towels.

    Gail2017-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic accommodation in great location. On a quiet street just behind St Agnes' main shops and pubs. Lovely walk down to the beach (approx 10 mins) but quite a steep hill back up. We didn't mind the walk (as it walked off all the pasties we had eaten) but some may struggle. Theresa is a fantastic host and communication/booking was brilliant. Highly recommended. Would definitely stay here again. Thanks again Theresa :)

    Sarah2017-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely little apartment, very stylish decoration, clean, just out of the town centre, would definitely stay again if we were to revisit the area

    jake2017-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • Walking distance to the centre of St Agnes. The room is very nicely done and has a lot of character. Theresa was very nice to interact with.

  • Very comfortable stay, and a great location, a couple of minutes from St Agnes centre and a short walk from the beach, but on a quiet street.

Beautiful holiday cottage in the heart of St Agnes. Cosy, comfortable and charmingly decorated, with open fire, off street parking and garden. We prefer 7 nights minimum stay (Sat to Sat), but please contact us for out-of-season short breaks.
The cottage sleeps 5, and is perfectly situated in the heart of St Agnes, seconds away from local amenities, and a 10 minute walk to the beach. We use it in all seasons and all weathers (!) as a family holiday home. In summer it's the perfect place to relax in the sunny garden before and after trips to the beach, to nearby Truro, or walks up to St Agnes Beacon, or along the coast path to Chapel Porth and as far as your feet can take you! On colder evenings, there is a large open fireplace for added cosiness... The lounge/dining room has plenty of comfortable seating, and a large dining table with 6 chairs: tv/dvd player & small radio/cd player. Kitchen has electric oven and hob, fridge, freezer & microwave. Bathroom has over-bath electric shower, and immersion heater for hot water. Heating is storage heaters and open fire, and extra heaters in every bedroom.
St Agnes is situated within a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It is 15 minutes from Truro, Cornwall's historic County Town. There are beautiful walks in every direction, beautiful beaches in every direction, and St Agnes itself offers high quality pubs, restaurants, shops, and plenty going on throughout the year.
  • We had a wonderful stay, all anyone would expect from a traditional Cornish cottage. Well equipped and great support from Ian

  • Excellent place to explore Cornwall and enjoy the fantastic beaches of Chapel Porth and Trevaunance Cove. The house is beautiful furnished and especially the kids loved their rooms.

  • Great cottage in a lovely location for the village

    Douglas2017-06-03T00:00:00Z
  • We had a good holiday using Peace and Plenty as our base. The house does indeed have a very peaceful feel to it and the sitting/dining room and the main bedroom in particular are lovely rooms. The house is very well equipped and even has beach equipment (inc surf boards!) in the garden shed. It is well situated to explore the area and a very short walk from the local shops. It is tucked away in a sheltered spot and the garden (across from the access drive) is a relaxing, sunny, private place to sit. The house itself is a not as sunny as I had imagined from the photos and has limited street views. Communication with Ian was easy and he responded very quickly to our questions. It may be helpful to other potential guests to know that from upstairs the bathroom is accessed down four quite steep steps (these can be seen in the photos). Our elderly parents found these quite difficult.

    Andy2016-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • Nice cottage in a very good location. With shops and a pub and resturants just a short walk away. Lots of amazing sites close by.

  • Great central cosy quirky cottage in the picturesque and historical seaside town of St. Agnes. Worked very well for our family of three. Loved the little garden to sit out in with its visiting robins. Clean and well equipped. Perfect distance for an early morning walk down to the beach and back again..

  • The cottage was cosy with everything you could want for a lovely w-end away. The location was great! It's centrally located, within walking distance to the local beach and the pubs/restaurants in the village. The garden would be lovely to sit out in with a glass of wine on a warm summer evening. • Blythe Cottage is well positioned, very well thought out and tastefully decorated with all the equipment you need plus lovely touches like scones, cream and jam and some local ale to welcome us. Well organised information sheet, everything clean and nicely done. My only small comment is the parking was a tiny bit annoying but it was a busy bank holiday weekend. Thanks Debbie!

All welcome at our cosy self contained studio for two near the centre of the St Agnes. Close to bars restaurants cafes & fifteen minutes walk to the beach. Ideal for couples or sharers. Ensuite shower room, private garden space with table and chairs & mini kitchen with breakfast goodies. Home cooked delicious evening meals by arrangement, chilli's roasts & curries £9 per person and deserts £3. Everything offered is vegan so take advantage of the treats on offer or just use the space as a base.
The studio is attached to our house but feels quite separate because of its own entrance and private little garden.
The village has a wonderful community feel with events throughout the year, including the Victorian street fair in May, the carnival in August and Christmas lights switch on by our very own giant bolster! There is live music in the village on most Thursday and Saturday nights, and an open mic/jam at the Driftwood Spars pub on the first and third Sunday of each month from around 4pm There are cafes and shops and traditional pubs, one of which has its own brewery. We have two grocery shops, two bakery's (one of which is totally vegan), galleries, gift shops and a museum. There are weekly drop in yoga classes, and an art group. St Ives, Falmouth and Penzance are all within an hour of St Agnes, and have vegan cafes/options aplenty.
  • It's a nice little flat with everything you'll need for your stay. We enjoyed our stay at St Anges and Keely's place and definitely recommend you give it a try if you are travelling in Cornwall.

  • Such a lovely place. Just a short walk from the centre of St Agnes and a little further on to the beach and only about a 5 minute drive from a beautiful sandy beach. The studio was perfect for a few nights with a beautiful sunny terrace filled with butterflies and birds. Gorgeous.

    Ayesha2017-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • Highly recommend this lovely space! I will be back for sure!

    Amy2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Keely's place is lovely. The room is very cosy. The shower is very warm and refreshing. Their adorable cat also chose to hang out in the room for a brief time. Before coming to St Agnes, I didn't know that the whole village had so many vegan friendly options. I found that it is very easy to eat vegan here as a person who normally would not object to eating eggs, dairy and honey. I would recommend this place to anyone.

    Jack2017-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • Planted is a beautiful calm space, with amenities and small touches that helped make our time there relaxing. I thoroughly enjoyed Keely's cooking, and her help with local information was invaluable. Highly recommend Keely's hospitality and this lovely studio.

    Lenny2017-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely place to stay, Keely is very accommodating. Nice touches in the room, good location and very peaceful.

    Rhianne2017-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • The room was gorgeous, and the little garden space an absolute sun trap. Keely was very welcoming & helpful, and the well stocked breakfast tray & toaster was a lovely touch.

    Sara2017-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • The studio was beautifully done and was a very comfortable place to stay. Keely provided tea, coffee, biscuits, hot cross buns and muesli. There was also jam, spread and milk in the fridge. It was all delicious! Keely provided information on lots of local places to eat and we were pleasantly surprised at the availability of good vegan food in the area. Dinner at The Miners Arms was great. We couldn't have asked for more. It was a great location for exploring St Agnes, Perranporth, Truro and other surrounding areas.

  • Elsey’s cottage was perfect for my mum and I on our recent trip to Cornwall. The house was comfortable and a warm retreat after a couple of soakings from the September Cornish weather! St Agnes is a easy stroll down the hill (slightly harder heading back!) and the village has a host of amenities for cooking in or dining out. The house has a well equipped kitchen along with spices and other bits and bobs that are always helpful. We also had tea, milk, juice, shortbread and chocolate waiting for us on arrival. Elsey was also able to let us check in early and let me know the day before we travelled which was very kind of her. Parking is on the street and although the road is one of the main roads into St Agnes, the traffic wasn’t noticeable and it was very quiet at night. A great few days and highly recommend this cottage as a base to explore the beautiful Cornish countryside. Thank you :)

    Emma2017-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Great place and very comfy. Would stay again if in St Agnes. Fantastic communication from Elsey the host as well

    Josh2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time staying at Elsey's place. It's a good size for four people, with two double bedrooms, and we really appreciated the well-equipped kitchen. It's about a 10-minute walk to the centre of St. Agnes and about 20 minutes to Trevaunance Beach. There are lots of great places to eat in the village, spectacular cliff walks and some lovely pubs. Parking on the road was easy, and arrival was straightforward. We really appreciated having milk, tea and goodies provided when we arrived. We can definitely recommend it.

In the evening you have a choice of five pubs, the highly recommended Taste restaurant, or head up onto St Agnes Head to enjoy the sunset with fish a chips or a take away from the award winning Cornish Pizza Company.
  • We stayed at Annabel's for 8 days and had a lovely time. We work unusual shift patterns and really appreciated the flexibility of arriving on a Tuesday. The house looked lovely on the website, but was nicer and bigger than we expected. We have two teenage girls and appreciated the space upstairs to give them some privacy. Communication was good from Annabel and Simon. We would happily stay again. Many thanks.

  • I am sorry to say this was the first negative experience we have had with Airbnb. The house was not cleaned prior to our arrival, which we later found out was because the cleaner had taken ill and the owner wasn't contactable. This took several hours to sort out as we could not get in contact with the host (who does not live in St Agnes) and had to rely on the neighbours to call Annabel. We were on the verge of leaving when we were told that a cleaner was coming. I know Annabel was very apologetic and it was out of character, but unfortunately this put a dampener on our whole stay. We would have been happy if we could have contacted someone straight away so we knew what was happening, but as it turned out we wasted an afternoon sitting in the house waiting to hear from Annabel. I can say that the house did get cleaned, was as described and is a perfectly functional home. There is limited hanging space (only in the main bedroom). While St Agnes is not big, the house is in what we would describe as a "suburban" area and a decent 20 min walk to the beach and a bit less to the shops. We had come from two exceptional, character homes in other parts of England, so we were a bit disappointed with our experience. Maybe our expectations were too high!

  • Very beautiful house in charming, quiet location. 15 min walk from the beach of St. Agnes. Spacious, super clean and gorgeous house with garden. We felt at home! The host was very kind and helpful, she made our experience a full 5 star! Thank you so much.

  • Lovely comfortable home which was great for myself and friends to stay for a few days, whilst in town for a wedding. Good suggestions of places to eat in the guidebook at house. Little village in walking distance had nice pubs and enjoyed fish and chips from Fission!

    Stephanie2017-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent communication with direction and house contents House was gorgeous, clean and tidy. All essential equipment there that you need. Towels and bed linen clean and fresh Had a great time will go back Lots of info in house on walks and eating places Had a great week Thanks Jane

  • Annabel's place is lovely, and in a great location! The house was very clean as well and the kitchen well equipped. There were a few issues with a leaking shower (which is being fixed) but this didn't impact our stay at all and Annabel was good at communicating this to us. Would highly recommend this place!

    Mollie2017-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • Recently returned from a wonderful weekend in St Agnes. From the moment we made the booking, Annabel was friendly and helpful, providing plenty of information about the house and things to do in the local area. The house was spotless and very spacious (we we only 3, but could've accommodated a larger number comfortably). We spent the weekend making the most of beautiful coastal walks and enjoying the excellent dining options in the village. Would definitely stay again for a rural and relaxing weekend.

    Abigail2016-04-05T00:00:00Z
  • We had an absolutely fantastic stay at Annabel's. Literally 20 minutes walk from the stunning Trevanaunce Cove, the house packed with everything we could need and beautifully furnished. We considered squatting at one point, as we didnt want to leave! We'll be coming back next year!

Lovely house in the centre of the amazing village of St. Agnes! Two double bedrooms, one single bedroom and one toddler bedroom. Parking for one car all included. You have the whole house. Please note that I've recently been renovating the property, and so you will see the odd step-ladder and tools / paint tins etc - but I'll be trying to hide them as much as possible. The toddler room is not quite finished yet, but still usable. I won't be there but will welcome you on arrival! Enjoy the beach!
There's a TV - sometimes the signal can vary in the village. There's a lovely patio outside with lighting for night-time drinks! There's a great boom-box in the kitchen for your music if you have Spotify or something on your iPhone! The toddler room will be finished and ready for your stay.
    Friendliest place on earth!
  • A great find, tucked away just off the centre of St Agnes with great shops, pubs and restaurants on the doorstep. The house is a lovely space, clean and well equipped with comfy rooms and a lovely family feel.

    Rich2017-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • The photos don't really do the house justice. It's charming and full of character. Very well equipped for babies and children. St Agnes is a lovely seaside town. The beach isn't too overcrowded compared to some others and there's enough going on to keep everyone entertained.

    Jessica2017-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • Great house, very modern and spacious. Well equipped. Great location in the heart of St Agnes. Excellent communication from James. Highly recommended.

  • Very cute place in a lovely village. Clean and comfortable with a nice little outside dining area. Would stay here again definitely.

    Tom2017-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • The house was fab and gave me a different perspective of the village as always been used to walking down to the cove from Wheal Kitty. The cleanliness of the property was fantastic as were the basic provisions and utensils in the kitchen. We liked the little quirky bits of home decor and James's property has real character. We really enjoyed our stay as I always do when in Aggie

    Ian2017-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing location and beautiful village. A short walk to everything. House is lovely, cosy and homely. I'd move in tomorrow!

    Monique2017-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed for 4 nights in James's house in August. The accommodation is large, delightful, and suitable for families (or couples if you like lots of room!). We felt very relaxed during our stay, and enjoyed the local beaches, the nearby skatepark (Mount Hawke) and ventured down to the calmer seas of the South Coast to experience a guided kayak with Gylly Adventures based on the beach in Falmouth (this was fabulous!). James's house was perfect for us both as a place to relax in and as a place to explore from. We can't recommend it highly enough!

We love St Agnes because of the friendliness of the strong community, the amazing landscape and beaches and the independent spirit of the place. There's great places to eat and great places to walk. Our favourite is walking Aggie the whippet from Chapel Porth beach to Porthtowan beach at low tide, having a cheeky beer and walking back before the tide comes back in. There's something great to do in St Agnes whatever the season. In summer there's the beaches, but also out of season the walking, surfing and atmosphere is wonderful. So No 2 Stippy Stappy is perfect for an all year round break.
  • A beautiful house in an amazing part of the world. The attention to detail in the house ensures everything you could possibly need for a holiday. Highly recommend.

  • A great cottage, we enjoyed our stay

  • Sarah's cottage is great. Very well equipped and a lovely garden. Even in bad weather which we had, St Agnes and the cottage are both very charming. Lesley and Ken Dance

    Lesley2017-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Sarah's little place on Stippy Stappy is everything you would want it to be; clean, comfortable and beautifully designed, it was perfect for my wife, our one year old daughter and I to make home for a few days. It's also the perfect place to make the most of St Agnes and the surrounding areas - especially the lovely beach at Trevaunance Cove that is just a short walk from your front steps. St Ives, Falmouth and others were easy day trips but a tip would be to be patient if there is no parking space nearby on your return - one always come free eventually. Sarah was a great host - and we felt very welcome in this amazing piece of local history. Its hard to not feel smug as people head down Stippy Stappy towards the beach and try to have a sneaky look in - we would love to return someday.

    Rich2017-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fabulous week here. Stippy Stappy is pretty and St Agnes is a great place to be. The kids loved the beaches and everything is in walking distance.

Located within the heart of this seaside village with pubs, shops and restaurants and its own quiet sandy cove. The Cottage is a short stroll from The South West Coast Path with its stunning scenery and World Heritage Site status. Truly Breathtaking
  • We had visited St Agnes before and love the area, when we saw this cottage it was perfect for our New Year break and it was exactly as described. We had four adults and one teenager and it was a lovely size for us. Had everything you could need, lovely open plan living room/kitchen. The garden is a real gem and even during our winter break we loved sitting out in it. St Agnes has some lovely shops and everything you could need during your stay. Recommend the cornish pizza take away just up the road and the sausage rolls from the bakery are just wonderful. Short walk down to the beach and Perranporth and Chapel Porth beaches are both lovely coastal walks. Julie & Ian were easy to communicate with and responded very quickly to any queries. Would definitely recommend both location and cottage for a wonderful summer or winter break.

    Alison2017-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • We spent 4 nights at Ian's house in St Agnes. The terrace house is very comfortable and perfectly furnished for a beach town. Ian was very welcoming and easy to contact by phone for any questions. The house is very centrally located with plenty of shops and restaurants. We ate at the Tap House, Taste, and Driftwood Spar, all excellent dining experiences. St. Agnes offers wonderful hiking trails with breathtaking views. I would highly recommend staying at Ian and Julie's home and enjoying this beautiful coastal area.

    Pearl2016-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Ian & Julie made us extremely welcome with thoughtful touches. Milk, biscuits, coffee, tea etc were left and lamps had been turned on ready for our arrival. Superb local butcher a few doors down, local spa across the road and around 6 pubs and restaurants within walking distance of the accomodation

    Julie2016-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Great pub next door. Easy free parking round the corner. Spar shop opposite- very convenient. Short walk to lovely beach. Noisy road can be a bother if you like a lie in! Recommended

    Allison2017-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage had a lot of charm and really worth the value! I almost felt the photos does not even show how really cute and nice it is :) I would definitely recommend it to anyone. The beach isn't far away, there's a car park literally around the corner, the local pub is meters away and it's exceptionally quaint! If and when I go to the area again, i would definitely book another stay in St Agnes.

    Marie-Janke2016-04-01T00:00:00Z
  • Surprisingly roomy and (as described) charming character cottage. Well placed in the village. Occasional noise in the early mornings from deliveries to the Spar shop across the street, though the shop's location was ideal. Also close to various pubs and eateries. Love St. Agnes and staying in the heart of it was great.

    David2017-04-02T00:00:00Z
  • Very Cosy and Warm cottage house definitely worth it!

    Maciej2017-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic cottage in a lovely little village made for a great winter weekend away. I booked for a two night weekend in mid-Feb for my girlfriend and I, and was contacted by the host in a timely fashion with useful tips. The cottage itself was beautifully furnished and decorated throughout with everything in good working order. The bedding provided was very comfortable there was even a selection of books and DVDs for entertainment. Everywhere was very clean, most notably the kitchen and bathroom. Tea, coffee, a small carton of milk and some lovely Cornish biscuits were provided upon our arrival which was a great touch and very welcome after a long drive. A Spar shop was directly opposite and catered for all of our needs. The pub nearby (The Railway) was very characterful and friendly, we didn't eat there but the food did look nice. St Agnes itself was a charming village with various craft shops, local butchers/green grocers, takeaways and restaurants. We cooked for ourselves all weekend and the kitchen was fully equipped to do so with all utensils and crockery to a high standard. Even kitchen foil, washing up liquid and a dishwasher tablet were all provided. We walked from the cottage to Porthtowan beach then all along the coast back to Trevaunance Cove. It was 8 miles in total but the views were magnificent and there were a few places to stop off on the way for a tea/coffee. It was certainly worth the effort!! We had to bring our own towels but I don't see this as a negative and were informed of this prior to our visit. Only downside I could say would be that you have to pay for electricity which powered the heating so I'd budget for £20-30 to keep yourself warm during the winter months. Other than that I really couldn't fault this place and I'd thoroughly recommend it to anyone looking for a stress-free weekend or week break in a beautiful location. 10 out 10 for sure!!

The Cabin is in a fantastic location in the centre of the village, a stones throw from the coffee shops, pubs and eateries.
  • The Cabin is ideal for couples looking for a quiet place to stay, and for those wanting to explore Cornwall. It is located well for the local amenities and the beach is close by. We had a lovely welcome from Reecy and Greg and were always available if needed. The Cabin is modern with a nice finish, the heating was on when we got there and it is well equipped with all the kitchen items anyone would need. The bedroom is cosy and very comfy. Would definitely stay again if we visit Cornwall in the future!

  • ...what a lovely hidden gem! Friendly welcome when we arrived, cabin was lovely and clean, the heating was put on for our arrival which was lovely, it had everything we needed for a lovely couple of chill out days! Perfectly located for pubs, shops etc. St Agnes has a lot to offer, a very friendly village. Excellent for walking and exploring. Lovely little beach and coves! We had a excellent Sunday lunch at the driftwood pub where they had live music and it was a bonus to eat alfresco in beautiful sunshine. The driftwood brewery is a must to pick up some local brewed ales. Overall a excellent stay and will defiantly book again to stay at the cabin!!! Thank you Greg, Reecy and girls x

    sandra2017-05-08T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Reecy & Greg's for 2 nights and they were really flexible to accommodate our late check in as we didn't arrive until 10.30pm. The cabin has everything that you would need including parking on the doorstep. The location is great although we did struggle to find it when we arrived in the dark as the house is on an unmarked drive off the lane. It's right in the centre of the village, a short walk from pubs and restaurants with the beach about a 15 minute walk away. We would definitely stay again and would recommend the listing.

Our place is close to St Agnes village, an easy walk to good restaurants, great pubs, independent coffee houses, cafes and local shops. Trevaunance Cove, the local beach is about 2km away as are excellent cliff walks and the South West Coastal Path. There is good parking near the beach, again with pub, cafes all in easy reach.
You’ll love our place because it provides private accommodation. The "Annex" stands alone from the house and guests have their own key to come and go as they please. The bedroom is about 11 sq m with a linked sitting area of about 8 sq m. Off the sitting room there is a bathroom comprising large walk in shower (big enough to take your wet suit off) toilet and sink. It is furnished to a high standard. There is a TV and DVD player. We have a large selection of DVDs which you can borrow. There is no WiFi but there is Ethernet connection. There is a small fridge. We provide tea coffee and cereals. Our place is good for couples and solo visitors.

  • I had booked two nights and arrived at the end of the afternoon after a long drive from France. The room had not been cleaned properly. The bed was made but the en suite bathroom had far too many traces of the last occupant. I nearly put up with it, but the huge blob of melted chocolate stuck to the key fob really put me off the idea of eating my breakfast there. As what I'd seen of the rest of the place on my way to my room seemed rather unkempt, I decided to leave. I felt sorry for the owner who I think needs more help to run this very large house correctly.

    David2016-04-21T00:00:00Z
  • A bit outdated. Friendly service

  • My parents had a lovely time at Dorethys. They said that they felt like they'd been invited into her home, that they felt welcomed and has nice chats. Dorethys is very sweet. We made the booking knowing that the rooms were dated. They are clean. The house has a lot of charm. I'd stay here again. It's good value for money, old school customer service and a great location by St Agnes.

    Emma2016-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • I enjoyed staying at Penkerris. Dorothy is a real character, who is very welcoming and helpful, with lots of ideas about places to visit. If you're after minimal and modern finishes, this is not the place for you. This is a lovely old-style B&B the way they used to make them, for a very reasonable price. A quirky and unique place to stay, the house is in a good location, a few minutes' walk from the centre of St Agnes, which is a lovely little town with nice places to eat and two supermarkets. Trevaunance Cove is stunning and within walking distance. The food at the Driftwood Arms was superb. There are plenty of lovely walks to be had, and the coastline is spectacular. I also enjoyed visiting nearby Porthtowan and further afield. There is certainly plenty to see. This was my first visit to Cornwall and I will definitely be back to explore the area because it is as amazing as I had been led to believe and would happily stay at Penkerris again and use St Agnes as a base.

Situated on the first floor of a historic building 10 minutes walk from the beach. A charming and spacious flat with big windows and a skylight atrium leading to a big lounge, separate kitchen, bathroom, toilet, bunkbed bedroom and double bedroom. Step out the door into the heart of St Agnes where you'll find busy pubs and restaurants, a bakery, cafes, grocers, butchers, a florist, galleries and gift shops, all selling local produce.
Our flat is unique and quirky as it's part of a listed building. Please be aware that our dog lives here so it's unsuitable if you're allergic to dogs. We've asked our friends and family to tell us if the flat smells of dog and they have promised us it doesn't, but we can't guarantee that you won't come across the odd dog hair even after we've cleaned in preparation for your visit. The electric stove in the lounge that you can see in the photo isn't working at the time of writing but there are storage heaters that kick out a lot of heat in the lounge and all the other bedrooms and hallways. We also provide a plug in heater should you need it.
If you've been to St Agnes you'll know. If you haven't then seriously, you should visit this beguiling old miners' village on the rugged north coast of Cornwall before you die. There's something about the landscape, with its fecund little hills and valleys, and the old mine chimneys around every corner. And the fact that this is a vibrant working village, not a ghost town like so many places in Cornwall these days. Nature abounds yet you don't have to go anywhere to get anything. It's a bit like going back in time. Then there's the beach... And the stunning clifftop walks to the adjacent beaches Chapel Porth and Perranporth. Be sure to walk up St Agnes Beacon while you're here too, the view is jawdropping... You won't forget St Agnes.
  • Exceptionally well located, and pleasant space for a couple or family to stay in: can get chilly but would not be an issue in summer months, and the flat is a home with personality rather than an empty box. No television so perfect if you want to relax and read but if you require diversion bring your device!

    Helen2017-05-03T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely 2 bedroom, first floor, flat with a double bed and bunk beds in the second room. Parking around the back was a little awkward and hard to find - we actually preferred parking in the street outside which was pretty easy. Couldn't fault the cleanliensss or anything else. The location is a couple of minutes walk to nearby shops and pubs. Very convenient. A bit further to the beach down a steep hill: it was fine for us but may pose an issue for those with mobility issues. Then again, St Agnes itself is very hilly! Communications were excellent. Value for money was good too.

  • Ann eautiful apartment in an idyllic terraced cottage and fantastic location. Based in the heart of St Agnes all local attractions including Travaunance Cove, the Beacon and st Agnus museum and local shops are a short walk away. The apartment was clean, pleasantly furnished with a modern bathroom and kitchen. The towels were soft and fluffy, and the bedding was warm and super comfortable. Couldn't have wished for better! We will be recommending Freya's AirBnB to all of our friends!

  • Great location, parking was never an issue even in high season. The flat was spotless!

    Tessa2017-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • We had an enjoyable weekend stay in this handy flat. Clean and very fresh smelling (definitely no evidence of a dog!). Thanks for having us!

    Jade2017-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • Good place and location. Can get a bit cold at night as the heating only goes on in the morning. Towels were a bit old and stained. If you're allergic to dogs please be aware you'll find dog hair in the flat, not a problem for us as we also have one :) overall a good place to stay and good value for money.

My newly renovated home in Stippy Stappy is a two bed Sea Captain's cottage in the middle of St Agnes on the Cornish north coast. Ideal for weekend or longer stays; tucked away in a quiet sheltered valley, in the heart of the village, all amenities are walking distance. The beach is a 6 minute walk downhill with the magnificent Cornish coast path through the local Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty beyond. A recent guest wrote "far surpassed our expectations and we would definitely come again."
2 bed cottage with double beds in each room; recently renovated with a large lounge / dining room off the kitchen leading out onto the sunny back patio. Underfloor heating throughout with a woodburner ready to go for chilly evenings. A fully equipped kitchen; help yourself to tea, coffee, milk and butter in the fridge.
St Agnes is a beautiful village set out between the main village, the Taphouse mini roundabout and the beach. The cottage sits between these 3 areas. Eat at the St Agnes Hotel, Taste in the main village, the Taphouse or the Driftwood down by the beach. There's two fish 'n' chip shops and an award winning pizzeria for take away, a butcher, green grocer, and two village stores (recommend the nearby Nisa). There's also a host of excellent local pubs to check out.
  • Thoroughly recommend staying here. The cottage is tremendous, a contrast between modern design and traditional Cornish character with an expansive terrace for basking in the sunshine. The photo's do not do it justice. It is located a short walk from St Agnes, a gorgeous village with all the amenities you would need but with a quiet, laid back and authentic feel to it. Less than 10 minutes on foot to the compact surf beach. Dan was responsive throughout and keen to make sure we had found it and had settled in ok.

  • This place is awesome. I fell in love with this cottage! Would highly recommend a stay here. We used this as our base, whilst jumping in the car for daytrips to other parts of Cornwall. You can walk to nearby Genki for a perfect breakfast, before setting off for the day! St. Agnes is a beautiful village. Nice for morning runs! Super close to the sea. Can also walk to some bars and restaurants, if you feel like staying local of an evening. Dan was always contactable. Great host! Gorgeous place! Thanks so much :)

  • We very much enjoyed our stay at the cottage. The house has been newly renovated in an imaginative and tasteful way. Skylights bring light into the property, and there are wonderful views over the surrounding hillsides from the sliding doors at the back. The beds were very comfortable, and it was great to have a wood burning stove when we had a night in. The house was very clean and great care had been taken by the host to make sure everything was ready for us. I would (and will) recommend this property to others. The only thing to bear in mind is that parking is in short supply in the village, though we still managed despite it being New Year's Eve.

  • We really enjoyed our stay! Great location and a lovely, renovated cottage.... Thank you ! Loved the little resident robin too

    Nick2016-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • Thanks so much Dan for a lovely two night stay in your cottage. Its extremely charming in a fantastic location. The cottage had everything we needed for our stay and Dan gave great information on parking and dinning options. I am definitely hoping to come back!

    Courtney2016-05-31T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our time in Dan's place. The house is in a stunning location, beautifully refurbished inside but keeping the charm of a traditional cottage at the same time. Full of light, clean, very comfy and equipped with everything that will make feel you are on holiday. Dan was reachable and very helpful every time we contact him. We couldn't have stayed in a better place.

    Laura2017-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay. The house is well situated on the way to the beach. The house is charming, modern and well furnished. Excellent bedding. Ideal for up to 4 adults and well located for easy access to the whole of Cornwall.

The House sleeps 6, a double, a twin and a sofa bed. It has all you need for an enjoyable stay in Cornwall for families or couples alike. It is situated on a small holiday park centrally located between St Agnes, Perranporth and 3 stunning Beaches!
The house is newly Refurbished with double glazing and new carpets throughout which adds to the comfort of the house.
St Agnes has a wide selection of places to eat from cafe's to restaurants and had a great selection of family friendly pubs! Coasteering is also a must alongside Koru Kayak! The Miners Arms, Mithian is within Walking distance and served great food all day. Trevellas beach is the closest to the house and is beautiful, a bit steep but worth the walk!
  • Within a few minutes drive from Perranporth, St Agnes and the lovely Miners Arms this house is perfect for exploring the area. The decor is lovely and as everyone has said all is provided. It was so helpful to have the towels as we needed our own towels for the beach. We didn't use the facilities on site as we wanted to catch as much surf as possible even in the rain!! The local tin mining museum was fascinating and some of our group enjoyed the cyder making tour. Anouska responded immediately with any queries. Excellent hosts.

    Gaynor2016-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • The house was amazing. Completely new and cleaned. It was in a lovely complex of holiday houses and also we had our car park. To use wifi we had to go to the reception of the complex by the house, because there wasn't adsl inside. The washing machine was in the reception as well and I think it's for charg. The position was perfect, we could to get to many places very easily. We saw Anouska and Andy just a few time but they were friendly and helpfully.

    Giulia2016-04-12T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely lovely place, really clean and well kept. The staff on site are lovely to. Will definitely return, thank you for a great week x

    Sarah2017-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Anouska's place- the view was beautiful. Great location for driving around the north coast of Cornwall, 2 minutes from Perranporth and Newquay is only a short drive away. Anouska's pub is a must with a fabulous garden & delicious cupcakes, our children loved it.

    Chloe2017-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our time in Anouska's house. It had everything we needed and was very clean and welcoming. We also asked about a seat for our toddler and Anouska kindly provided a high chair for us during our stay. She was also very helpful when we had any questions and replied straight away every time.

    Jo2017-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • It is located inside a holiday park with a lot of facilities such as pool, sauna, fun golf games and more. The house is very cosy and homey. The kitchen has everything! There are also books and board games in the house.

    Lin Lee2016-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • Great place for a stay and accessing the North Cornwall coast line. Lovely beach at Perranporth and great pubs at the Miners Arms in Meuthin and the Watering hole on the beach.

    Lewis2017-04-18T00:00:00Z
  • My parents and I had a wonderful stay here. It is on a holiday park comprised of houses so it has lots of amenities onsite including a pool, sauna, shop and bar which are available to use. It would be perfect for families with young kids, especially as they have a summer activity schedule. The house is beautifully done up and has all the facilities you would need. Location was great for us to explore West Cornwall from as the A30 is nearby. There is also a great Ice Cream Farm close by. Anoushka's contact with us was just perfect. She'd left the keys to pick up at reception and left us to enjoy our holiday so it was fantastic. I very much recommend a stay here.

Fairlight Cottage is right in the centre of lovely St Agnes. The bedroom has wardrobe, chest of drawers, bedside tables with drawers, digital radio, Wifi, TV, tea and coffee, large window, window seat overlooking pretty village garden. Private spacious bathroom with bath and shower. Delicious help yourself breakfast provided - selection of cereals, juice, local bread, homemade jams, fresh fruit and yoghurt, coffee machine........ Free car park behind house. Safe storage for cycles
The house, originally built in the 1700s and added on to over the years is double fronted, and is in an ideal position for setting out through village (stopping for coffee en route) then off onto the coastal paths or down to the beach. Space at back for leaving bicycles off street and secure. Then in the evening, not having to think about driving anywhere, having a meal at one of the numerous pubs and restaurants. (A West Highland terrier and two cats are in residence)
There are some great coffee shops, (my favourite 'The Sorting Office'), pubs and restaurants in the village + an excellent fish and chip shop, and the most wonderful walks, straight from the door step. The rugged coastline is spectacular and the local beaches are fabulous, great for surfing, kayaking, coasteering.
  • Caroline was a great host and a lovely lady. Upon arrival Caroline surprised us with a cream tea with scones and homemade jam. Her home is beautifull and our room was very comfortable with a very nice bathroom. Everything was spotlessly clean and newly decorated. There were cut flowers everywhere and even in our room. Such a lovely touch. Would definately stay again.

    Sue2017-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay in St Agnes was lovely and Caroline was a very welcoming host who had even put some children's books and toys in our room for our daughter and was full of tips and advice about what to do and where to go. The room is tiny but very cosy and comfortable. The only small drawback maybe the location on St Agnes busy main street and next to a pub - but noise levels were fine with the window closed.

    Christine2017-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely fabulous place the host was amazing as well as the (URL HIDDEN) looked after us from start to finish superbly .We would definitely recommend anyone to stay here

  • Caroline was the perfect host and did everything to make our stay comfortable. Greeted with cream tea on arrival and breakfast was perfect. The bedroom was very comfortable and decorated with style, we also had use of a private lounge, Caroline has a lovely home. Location was central and didn't need the car all weekend. Able to walk to Chapel Porth beach an Trevaunance cove as well as pubs and restaurants. Would defiantly stay there again.

  • Caroline was a very accommodating, helpful and friendly host. She made sure to go the extra mile to ensure a comfortable stay for myself and my partner. Her home is beautiful and cosy, with lovely local art and decor. A real home away from home! Comfortable bed, clean spacious bathroom, private living/dining space and a delicious, local breakfast with great variety. A relaxing location close to local pubs and shops, just a stone throw away. We would definitely recommend Caroline and her home and would love to stay again in the future!

Two Penwinnick Cottages is a stunning, recently renovated cottage that sits in the beautiful village of St. Agnes, Cornwall. The house is cosy, comfortable and comes with a fully-stocked fireplace; perfect for the cool-winded evenings after a hike or ocean dip. The outdoor decking space at the back is fantastic to watch the sunsets over the beacon and enjoy a chiminea heated BBQ.
Our place is in the epic village of St. Agnes, Cornwall, a place where you can feel your cares melt away. This stunning, modernly refurbished cottage is close to Trevaunance cove, a family friendly beach (swim, surf and warm sand) with nearby restaurants, pubs and local treats. Only a short distance away are three other famous North Coast Beaches, as well as the South West Coastal Path. Viewable from the house is Beacon hill. The cottage can accommodate up to 4 people comfortable (up to two dogs also welcome), has a front driveway for one car to fit comfortably, and a decking area in the back. The patio area in the front is perfect for lazy breakfasts. A 10 minute walk to St Agnes Village will offer you local grocers, a choice pubs, delicious restaurants, bistro, coffee bars and a highly regarded pizza takeaway. The local Trevaunance Cove is a popular surfing beach with a surfing school, and coastal kayaking trips. It also has a lively pub, famous fish and chip shop and Beach Bar/Bistro.
Tucked into a stunning and unspoilt spot on the north Cornwall coast, St. Agnes sits in both a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and a World Heritage Site. Our little village has a thriving and creative local community which supports lots of independent shops and businesses. Add beautiful, dog-friendly beaches, world-class pubs and restaurants, and access to some of the county's most stunning coast path and walks, it's not hard to see why we're so proud of where we live.
  • Sarah and Ravi's St. Agnes cottage was the perfect base for us to explore St. Agnes and the gorgeous coastline of Cornwall. Their home is very sweet and we really appreciated the creative touches of color and design and the cosy fireplace for cold nights. The kitchen was very well-equipped with colorful plates and cups and all the right implements for cooking. We enjoyed sitting on the roof deck one sunny evening, and although the view is not spectacular, the garden has been lovingly planted with bright flowers and herbs. The master bedroom has a lovely open-beamed ceiling (and a very comfortable bed) and the second bedroom was bright and pleasant, just perfect for our daughter. The village of St. Agnes is an easy walk from the cottage and we dipped into the local Farm+Veg shop and a cute new vegan pasty shop. Many thanks to Sarah and Ravi for a brilliant stay.

    Annie2017-05-30T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is lovely. The bed is very comfortable and it was so nice to have an open fire with plenty of wood supplied. Communication with Ravi and Sarah was fantastic - it felt like they couldn't do enough to help make our stay perfect and answering our questions straight away. St Agnes is also a lovely little place to be. Thank you for a great stay!

    Katie2017-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful little cottage on the edge of the village. Spotless, cosy - we felt at home straight away. The log fire was gorgeous and the kitchen has everything you would wish for. Towels were provided and both bedrooms are a really good size. The wifi was also surprisingly good for such a rural setting! Would highly recommend staying at this beautiful place. It's very difficult to find any faults!

    Geraint2017-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • Great few days in St Agnes! Thank you Sarah & Ravi.

    Jason 2017-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • It was a delight to stay at Sarah & Ravi's place, great communication with Ravi before arriving at their newly decorated homely cottage. A perfect getaway, disappointed not to have longer to enjoy it & use the log fire. Bonus to have the option of a third bed. Thoughtful touches on arrival, we enjoyed the prosecco! Would love to come back to enjoy for longer!

  • Thank you, we loved our stay at the cottage and St Agnes is such a great place, 100% recommended!

    Neil2017-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Fabulous house: Super easy check in; clean house; hosts are easy to contact and the decking is a great space for a morning cup of coffee or evening drink. The road can be busy during the day but in the evening you won't hear much traffic. About a 10 minute walk into town - a good distance out, nice and secluded. St Agnes: This place has really stolen our hearts - amazing surrounding beaches; easy going and friendly locals; two fantastic places to eat and drink (it's likely there're more but we only tried these two) - Schooners & Tap House; the Driftwood Spa pub is good for a couple of pints of real ale (brewed opposite), good selection to gin too - located just up from Trevaunance Cove; decent bakery, butchers and shops for general bits; couple of takeaways - fish & chips and The Cornish Pizza Company (best GF pizza I've had, ever!!); The Sorting Office cafe is where you should get your coffee from Location: 40 minutes from Padstow 45 minutes from Porthcurnick Beach (The Hidden Hut) 10 minutes from Truro 10 minutes from Chapel Porth beach (must visit)

    Thomas2017-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • This is a perfect cottage for a young family or a couple in St Agnes. The cottage is beautiful, clean and was everything you would wish for. The location is just at the edge of the village, but close to the best pizza take away in Cornwall!

  • Angela was a warm and welcoming host - we unfortunately didn't see much of her because we were out exploring St Agnes and at a wedding, but she was very accommodating. We woke up to a lovely breakfast each morning, and the room was very comfortable. Location is also great - walkable to the beach and a few shops and pubs! Thank you for a great stay.

  • It was wonderful stay at Angela's cozy and warm home :) I would recommend it to everyone who is going to St Agnes. We were so tired after long walk that day so we had not much time to enjoy nice garden but we enjoyed comfy bed and warm room upstairs. Breakfast in the morning was a really nice surprise :) We will definitely stay at Angela's place next time.

  • Angela's Airbnb is a perfectly adequate and comfortable bedroom with good window ventilation in a quiet street just a 1 min walk from the high street. Kitchen is sunny and breakfast includes cereal, croissant and toast, fruit and tea/coffee. Nice garden seating to enjoy in good weather. Angela extends a warm welcome.

Welcome to our home! Our aim is to make it a home from home and we hope you have a lovely stay and love St Agnes as much as we do! On our doorstep we have fabulous pubs (including a microbrewery) and we are a 10 minute walk to the beach and 1 minute to the main St Agnes village with shops, restaurants and a coffee shop. There is also a playground a few metres away so great if you have any littles. There is lots to do nearby - kayaking trips, surf lessons, coasteering, walking the coast path.
Our home has a resident feline who like most cats will stay clear of humans until he is hungry! Also like most cats he doesn't mix well with dogs (!) so unfortunately we can't accept anyone coming with dogs We have off road parking and are based in a very quiet part of the village (although actually only 2 streets back from the main drag) We live in a bungalow so ideal if you struggle with stairs. You are most welcome to use our wifi. The bedroom is a double bedroom but the bed could be pushed to the side if you needed a travel cot (we have one you can use). In the room is a chest of drawers, a digital radio and a bedside table. There are hooks to hang your clothes. There is a large bath or shower and a separate toilet. A continental breakfast is included consisting of cereals, fruit juice, toast and jam (and marmite for the marmite lovers!) and freshly baked items from the popular St Agnes bakery. You are most welcome to use our kitchen for making tea/coffee etc. If you are here for a longer stay then you would be most welcome to use our washing machine and dryer too.
St Agnes is a truly wonderful village, full of charm and is a very strong community with lots of events going on throughout the year. It has arguably 3 of the most beautiful beaches in the region within the parish including Chapel Porth where you can pick up an 'Iced Hedgehog' (ice cream, covered in clotted cream, rolled in roasted hazelnuts!). It is ideally situated a few miles off the A30 meaning you can get around easily. Whether you are a fish and chips on the beach kind of person or a meal in a nice restaurant, there is something for everyone and there are plenty of nice pubs to choose from. You can access the coast path very easily from our house and see some of the most beautiful scenery in Cornwall including the former tin mine Wheal Coates (an iconic image of Cornwall and a great place for a picnic)
  • Really lovely & friendly couple and would happily stay again.

We'd definitely come back :)

Anchor cottage is in a truly unique location, just off the coastal path with miles of panoramic sea views in an area of outstanding natural beauty, it will take your breath away. A cosy traditional cottage just 15 mins walk to sandy St Agnes cove. There is some re-build work going on our neighbours house, it has not disturbed any of our guests so far this year but it's only fair to point out this work is going on.
Anchor cottage is a traditional Cornish cottage which sleeps 4 in two double bedrooms. The sitting room contains two single sofa beds and can be used to accommodate two additional persons but additional linen and towels are not provided unless agreed upfront at cost so please check with me if this is required. The master bedroom with double bed has an en suite bathroom and the second bedroom has twin single beds and wash basin. There is a second bathroom with full sized bath. The cosy sitting room with TV and fireplace leads into a sun lounge with dining table. The well-equipped kitchen has a small dining area, there is also a little sun trap just through the back door with table and chairs for Al fresco dining. A washing machine is provided in the utility room. Anchor cottage is accessed via a private drive to a large graveled parking area, the long garden has a stone built BBQ and leads down to the cottage gate. There are further gardens around the cottage with benches at view points and a private lower garden gate with path down to join the coastal walk. Available dates are very limited as the cottage is popular and otherwise fully let to returning visitors, many of our guests have taken their 'slots' for decades and pass them down to the next generation ! If you are looking for a 5 star experience Anchor Cottage may not be for you, it's a comfortable, quaint homely dwelling in the most stunning location with everything you need, but more traditional than modern.
The village of St Agnes is close by and has a good number of shops, restaurants and pubs. There is good surfing at the sheltered sandy beach at St Agnes just 15 mins walk down the coastal path and also at the nearby lovely National Trust beach of Chapel Porth. The cottage has interrupted coastal views from St Agnes all the way to Trevose Head lighthouse near Padstow, one of the only such vistas in Cornwall with practically no visible buildings. A small private gate from the rear garden leads down a short path to the coastal pathway where you can enjoy amazing hiking. My favorite walk is towards Chapel Porth enjoying some of the most spectacular scenery in Cornwall. There are 6 pubs in and around St Agnes, be sure to try the Driftwood Spars up from the beach with it's own micro brewery and the Miners Arms at nearby Mithian serves excellent food in an old world atmosphere. In fact they are all worth a visit ! You are spoiled for choice on the restaurant front, from the superb cuisine at Taste in the village to Al fresco dining at Shooners bistro on the beach. There is a medieval Meadery in the old village cinema building the kids will enjoy and several other good local eateries. So grab a home baked pasty from the local village bakery and head off for a surf, swim or stomp along the cliffs. There are surfing lessons, kayaking and coasteering adventures from St Agnes beach and if you spot me there with my blue boat Isalex just ask and I will pop you up some fresh fish and crab ! Alternatively try your hand at kite surfing at Hale or paragliding from St Agnes Head. If the weathers not so good, you will find leaflets in the cottage detailing a wealth of Cornish attractions from Eden, St Austell to The Tate in St Ives, Flambards, The Minack Theatre etc. Look out for local events too from the Carnival, Lifeboat day, Victorian Fair, Steam Rally, Blue Hills time trials, World Belly Board Surfing Championships or Giant Bolster Play - you will find local events across Cornwall advertised in the local Cornishman paper or look up St Agnes online. Or just put your feet up, relax and feel at peace at your beautiful cottage, have a BBQ in the garden and watch the sun sink into the ocean.
  • The cottage is fantastic. There was a note to welcome us and a phone call just to check all was okay. Well equipped and homely. We really felt at home. Took a little time to find it, as the sat nav for the postcode is at the top of a private lane. Once we 'risked' upsetting someones privacy we found it.

    Sue2016-06-19T00:00:00Z
  • On our return visit to Anchor Cottage, we were delighted to find that nothing much had changed! The building work next door was not intrusive, and the builders were courteous - by next year it will be completed. The cottage was comfortable and the electric blankets welcome as the weather was cold and rainy. Lovely to see the new en suite shower room - maybe the bathroom next year?! The cottage is very well equipped for a relaxing break, irrespective of weather - and is cozy and comfortable with old fashioned charm. We hope to return for a third visit next year! Thank you Mike and Angela

  • Wonderful cottage right on the Cornish Coastal Path. Great views, lovely gardens, nice and quiet and only a short coastal walk to great pub/restaurants/beach/surf/cafe. Good for family of 4. No complaints and now working out how to visit again!

    Paul2017-04-16T00:00:00Z
  • Probably one of the most beautiful places you'll ever see! The location of the cottage is amazing and no it's not a luxury hotel but super cosy and lovely. You can directly access the coastal path which provides endless possibilities for hikes. St Agnes is not big but provides everything you need - I didn't drive to a big supermarket all week. (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) Maps directs you close to the cottage now, if you are not afraid of ignoring the sign that says "private road" then finding the cottage with mikes directions is easy. Mike is a great host, communication is extremely easy, he is very accessible and just a lovely person. I've lost my heart to Cornwall a bit during this stay and I hope I can come back!

  • Anchor Cottage lived up to everything I had wished for. The setting is beyond amazing, and the cottage is comfortable, well equipped and I really loved that it has not been "gentrified". We were blessed with wonderful weather, but even without this, I still would have been happy to stay here. Mike was a charming and considerate host - the communication prior to arriving was excellent, and I felt very confident that all would be well. I can understand why visitors return every year to stay at Anchor Cottage - it is peaceful, relaxing, and the perfect place to regain a sense of what is really important in life. Thank you so much for letting me stay Mike - I hope you will let me come again.

    Isobel2016-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • Anchor Cottage is a great place, we had a brilliant stay. Mike was is a thoughtful and communicative host. You can walk to both the beach and the village at St Agnes - we didn't use our car once during our stay, which was a real bonus. Loved it.

    Phil2017-04-22T00:00:00Z
  • We were so lucky to find this cottage as its first Airbnb guests. It is in the most amazing setting-truly like looking at a picture through the window! It feels like you have gone back in time and you can really immerse yourself in Cornwall's unique history and culture. We had fantastic walks on our doorstep and even though the weather was changeable,it was still a wonderful experience to be out on the cliffs with the waves crashing in the distance! The cottage is small but perfectly formed- very comfortable and homely but with all the mod cons to make it a great base for self-catering if you want. We combined home cooking with great meals out at local pubs. We really loved this place- thankyou to Mike for making us so welcome throughout the process.

    Gail2016-03-30T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful holiday at St. Agnes. Mike welcomed us when we arrived to stay at Anchor Cottage for 11 days. The Cottage ist very well equipped and beautiful decorated, so we felt at home from the first moment. The beds are comfortable and cozy due the heated mattress cover. The kitchen is well stocked with everything we needed to prepare our meals. St. Agnes offers lots of shops for healthy and good food and 2 little cafes, where we had delicious cakes. We had a very good Sunday roast and dinner at the pub at the beach of St. Agnes, which also offers homebrewed beer. It was very easy to relax and recover from our everyday life, because of the silence und remoteness of the place. The hike along the coastal path was very relaxing too and we discovered different beaches during low tide. Our tip: Watching the sunset from St. Agnes head ist very romantic! We highly recommend Anchor Cottage for all outdoor and nature lovers and we are hoping to come back one day.

    St Agnes, Cornwall, United Kingdom

Balglaze is a newly refurbished family house a short walk from St Agnes village and Trevaunance Cove. The house is ideally suited to families and has a large garden, master bedroom, twin bedroom and a three tier bunkbed bunk room. The living space is open plan with kitchen, dining room and large living room, including double sided log burning stove. Lots of parking and friendly host family offsite. St Agnes is one of the best holiday destinations in Cornwall with a safe swimming beach.
  • Balglaze is a fantastic place for a Cornish holiday. The property itself was even more light and spacious than it looked online, perfectly clean and homely. The wrap round garden was great for young kids to tear around and the centre of St Agnes was only a short stroll away. St Agnes has a lovely range of cafes and restaurants and a small cove for evening sea strolls. St Agnes is nestled in the most amazing coast line with spectacular sandy beaches in every direction! Our favourite beaches were Holywell and Perranporth but it was also easy to get up to Newquay and down to St Ives for a bit more shopping and cream teas. We would all recommend Balglaze wholeheartedly, we had a stunning holiday

  • Just got back from a fantastic long weekend at Balglaze. Beautiful home, VERY clean, well equipped. Great location, within short walking distance to the beach and lots of dog friendly pubs, cafes etc. Also, short drive to lots of attractions. We absolutely LOVED our stay. We are already trying to organise or next trip! Thanks Sarah for sharing your wonderful place, we cannot wait to come back!

    Hannah2016-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely house, lots of space, nice kitchen area, clean

    Gary2017-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • This holiday home is not less than a five star hotel. The photos listed perfectly describes the space in the house. The kitchen is so nice and big with good number of utensils. Sarah was so helpful and kind. All together its a great stay and if in future we would plan to visit again we would surely stay in the same place. I highly recommend this holiday home for big family.

  • What a lovely haven! Balglaze is tucked away in lovely gardens so is truly a peaceful little corner away from the hustle and bustle. At the same time it is only a short (flat) stroll to the centre of St Agnes and the shops and amenities there. It usually took us around 10 minutes with a 4 year old and 22 month old in tow. The beach is also a short walk down the hill (felt slightly longer on the way back up though!!). St Agnes is also very well placed for exploring further afield along the north coast. The short bus trip to Perranporth Beach was a favourite outing for our two. Sarah has thought of pretty much everything you might need so Balgalze really felt like a home away from home ... we found it very hard to tear ourselves away at the end of our stay. Everything is finished beautifully and all the local artwork on the walls adds a real sense of St Agnes. Would definitely stay here again and wholeheartedly recommend it.

    Caroline2017-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful and clean house! We loved our stay there! Hope to be back soon!

    Sarah2016-11-13T00:00:00Z
  • Balglaze cottage is a beautiful place, nestled in hills, on the outskirts of St Agnes village. It has been newly refurbished and offers everything one needs for an amazing holiday: lots of light and space, indoors and outdoors, high standard kitchen with dishwasher, a washing machine and dryer, wifi, proximity to local grocery stores and just a 15 min walk to the beach. The communication with Sarah was quick and easy. Thanks for letting us stay at Balglaze. We hope to return soon again.

    Steph2016-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Myself and partner stayed at Balglaze for a week, September 2016. It is in a quiet and private location in St Agnes, only a 10 minute slow level walk to the village with places to eat and buy supplies and about the same distance downhill to the beach and a pub with its own brewery. The accommodation is as pictured and has been refurbished to a high standard with good quality fittings, appliances and utensils. There are enough pots and pans to cook a full Sunday roast if you wish. Sarah is the perfect host, she answered all our questions in detail and was easy to contact when needed. The family have thought about the younger guest’s safety in the lounge with socket protectors so no little fingers will get in there, which is a nice touch. There is a great selection of books and maps about Cornwall, perfect for helping you find your way around the local area. When we first contacted Sarah she told us herself, family and other guests find it hard to leave Balglaze, she was right, we did not want to come home. For us it was the perfect location and a nice place to return to after a day’s sightseeing. If we ever return to that area of Cornwall we will stay nowhere else. I have already recommended Balglaze to a work colleague. When you stay at Balglaze enjoy it, but please help Sarah keep it so good by following her few simple housekeeping requests.

Location: St Agnes, near numerous restaurants, bars, shops and beach. The rental is a completely self contained guesthouse with great views on the outskirts of the village (about 1/2 mile walk). Parking: one car (more space nearby) Large bedroom: double bed, shower en suite, views, clear skies and star gazing. Kitchen: simple cooking facilities include microwave, hob and fridge Lounge: double sofa bed, tv, dvd, games, books, blankets, cosy nights in.
The guest suite is a cosy space in a beautiful semi rural location. If you're looking for a quiet, relaxing get away, but still close enough to enjoy the village facilities this is perfect. Suitable for couples, solo travellers, families with younger children or up to 3 adults.
The Goonbell area of St Agnes is on the outskirts of the village and semi rural. It is half a mile walk to the village and half a mile further to the beach from the village. It is also close to Perranporth and Porthtowan, other coastal villages worth visiting locally. It is a quiet area, with limited street lighting so the star gazing is fantastic and it is peaceful at night. Plenty of wildlife, footpaths and walks on the doorstep.
  • This is an ideal holiday let for anyone wishing to visit North Cornwall. Plenty of room, with all the amenities needed (including a washing machine) for a family to stay here, whether it be for a couple of nights, or for a week (or longer) holiday. Jane is lovely and really helpful: she asked how old our son was and whether we needed the sofa-bed made up for him, and happily helped out when I made a cheeky little request on behalf of our son. We won't hesistate in recommending this place to anyone, and we certainly intend to come here again next time we visit St Agnes.

    Liam2017-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • Jane is a great host and her cottage is very, very nice. Crisp and clean inside, having been very recently renovated. Love the stone and wooden floors - makes for such a comfy stay. Added bonus of NowTV too! Quiet location and close to some amazing places for walking and various marine activities. Some really good local places to eat too! Great to get away from the stress of normal life. Thanks Jane!

    Tim2017-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • The views are wonderful.. to wake up to the sunshine through the windows, the horses and rabbits in the field and the sea in the distance was just perfect! The cottage had everything we needed for our short break and was very cosy in the evenings. Hopefully see you again sometime soon!

    Hilary2017-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely quiet retreat in a rural location with great views outside and cosy comfort inside. The living area has all you need, and the bedroom is luxuriously spacious with a lovely ensuite shower room.

  • Jane is lovely and very helpful; the annexe has been very recently refurbished to a high standard. The bedroom is big with beautiful views; the lounge area is cosy, with a little kitchen, tv and wifi. There are a few little touches to come I'm sure. It's a half hour walk from the beach, but in a beautiful and very quiet location. We had a wonderful holiday and this is a good base to explore st agnes and the surrounding area.

No. 51 Rosemundy is an ideal self catering cottage in the quintessentially Cornish village of St Agnes. Perfectly made for two, No. 51 is beautifully presented and all withing walking distance of the beach, surrounded by Poldark country, the silhouettes of the tin mines of old, rugged landscapes and serene seas.
Rosemundy is a residential street filled with a fabulous mix of characterful cottages and houses. The village centre of St Agnes is only a few minutes walk, which two grocery stores, two veg shops, two butchers, a fishmongers, bakery and coffee shop as well as other local businesses. There is a friendly vibe to the village and there are plenty of pubs and restaurants to choose from. The beach at Trevaunance cove is a 10-15 minute walk away and there is plenty of access routes to the South West Coast Path.
  • Thank you very much for a lovely weekend in your beautiful cottage. Fantastic location and we would love to stay again in the future.

    William2017-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • Cosy , well equipped, everything you need is right there ! St Agnes is great plenty to do , and it's not hard to get out and about if you feel the need , as Cornwall has lots to offer

  • A stylishly furnished, cosy, well-equipped cottage in an unspoilt north Cornish village. The property is within easy reach of the village shops and restaurants and a short walk to the beach. The location is ideal for coastal walkers. We have no hesitation in recommending this property to others.

    Margaret2017-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • We loved Karen's bolthole. It's incredibly nice and well equipped with everything you need to stay from a weekend to a 2 weeks holiday. The place is really clean and nicely decorated with an original wood stove for those who stay in the autumn/winter. Even though St. Agnes is quite small it had everything we needed and the walk to the beach is nice and relaxing. We really recommend Karen's place!

    Dario Luciano2017-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • Karen's place was perfect! My partner and I recently stayed at her cosy home and would love to go back already! Karen made it very easy to find and stay in her place and we felt completely at home. The house is in a great location, we travelled into St Ives easily during our stay. St Agnes itself is beautiful and offers all you need for a quiet and cosy getaway any time of the year. Thanks Karen! We will hopefully be back soon!

    Georgia2017-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • Great location for a quiet (URL HIDDEN) Agnes is beautiful... lovely local restaurants, a special mention to the Shellfish Beach Deli.. the best crab sandwiches ever! Great access to the SW Costal paths. Close by to the bus stop too if you fancy a one way walk to Perranporth or Porthtowan and catch the bus back! The cottage is cosy with good facilities to include generous fridge/freezer, washing machine/dryer, dishwasher, cool box, crockery and cookware. The seating area was nice however you may want to bring some slippers with you for the cool stone floor. The bedroom is very comfortable and spacious. If you are a light sleeper though I would recommend bringing some earplugs as the local bus drives past the cottage. Local shops are close by which was handy as we needed essentials such as teabags, handwash and loo roll! The portable speaker was great and well used (via Bluetooth) with good wifi! A recommended stay... thanks again Karen!

    nina2017-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • This little cottage is perfect for two. It's beautifully presented with everything that you could want in a compact space. St Agnes is a lovely village and we received a really warm welcome every where we went. Couldn't have asked for more.

    Catriona2017-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I had a lovely couple of days in St Agnes, and this cottage is certainly a lovely "cosy" home from home. Directions to the cottage and instruction about keys were provided by Karen, who is easily contactable by the app; and all instructions about the cottage and appliances were very clearly laid out in a booklet on arrival. The welcome surprise of prosecco, milk, logs and flowers were also very much appreciated during our stay. St Agnes is a nice quiet village, but has all necessary amenities such as local shop, pubs and restaurants etc, the locals are really welcoming and happy to pass on their knowledge of good places to go and visit. It is an ideal base to make use of the many walks and is really rich in local history.

St Agnes is a pretty cornish village with it's own beach.
  • We had a lovely stay at Lucy's cottage. She had 'ingredients' for a cream tea (with Prosecco) stocked for us in the fridge when we arrived. We were also free to use any of the vegetables growing in the garden. The cottage was very clean, decorated with great care and communication with Lucy was really easy. We would definitely come back and can recommend staying at the cottage to anyone else.

  • We (3) spent a week in St. Agnes. All things were exactly as described. Lucy answered to all of our emails immediately. She was a great host. She explained all things in detail and recommended restaurants, where to shop etc. All things were desribed in an information map as well., incl. where to go in Cornwall. The house is fantastic in both location and equipment. It´s cosy and relaxing. Just 5 min to walk to the coast with an fantastic pub!! Thank´s for giving us the possibility staying there. Thomas

  • lovely cottage with an amazing garden- the place is as described & when you enter the cottage you can feel that Lucy decorated the place with lot of passion & love. We immediately felt homely & were really happy that we invested our holiday money in that cottage. Sunshine or rainy day's doesn't matter- the cottage is perfect to hang around with all weather. The location is perfect. Especially as St. Agnes is the prettiest town to stay within the area. It makes it easy to visit Truro, St.Ives or other sights within the area. Lucy is a caring & attentive host - we even got some Prosecco for our arrival that we enjoyed on a warm evening in the garden. We'd love to come back to Cornwall & if possible stay again with Lucy.
