This place was perfect for a couple. It was our first time in Salem and this location is smack in the middle of everything. We did not have to use Uber/Lyft once. We walked everywhere and were able to even stop back at the room and unload for a bit and head back out. It was a quaint little studio with everything one would need and was a perfect crash pad after long days of exploration. It was clean, stocked with lots of towels and a heater and even a fully functioning kitchen. We will definitely be back and this place facilitated a lot of amazing memories for us. Thank you Brian!!

Nice place in the middle of Salem and all the attractions are next door. Place was very quiet and close to MBTA. There are plenty of good restaurants nearby.

The apartment is exactly what you would expect, a nice little place to stay close to many of the cities attractions. Brian gave clear and concise check in directions and the apartment was tidy. Edgar's place was absolutely perfect. It is within walking distance of so many of Salem's historic sights. The apartment is cozy, yet roomy enough that you can find some space away from a traveling companion if you want. It was great that eggs, milk, cereal, and coffee were provided! It was very quiet and peaceful there, with a very pretty view of a park behind the property. We will definitely book Edgar's place if we are in the area again. Thanks Edgar!

Me and my partner loved staying at the Forsythia apartment! It’s a beautiful historic home with contemporary touches with many stories to tell! It is clearly well maintained. Sitting in front of it’s majestic fire place transports you back into time! It is also the perfect location for Salem as most everything was within walking distance, and we never had to move our car once for the duration of our stay!

Perfect location for a Salem visit. The Apartment was very cozy and felt like home. Loved having coffee with sugar and creamer( dairy & non dairy!) and snacks on the table. There were a lot of special touches throughout that made us feel welcomed. I'd rebook in a heartbeat.

The location of this apartment is unbeatable! Everything in Salem (museums, shops, restaurants, the harbor, cemeteries, etc) is within ten minutes (or less) walking distance. The apartment is really comfortable and has a lot of space. We loved the thoughtful touches Barbara added to the space like the coffee/snack bars, travel tips, and drawing pads!

Barbara's home was very nice and well supplied with the everyday essentials. Barbara was helpful with questions I had regarding checking in and was able to work with our early check in time. Location was the best part since everything great about Salem is within walking distance. Residence can be a bit noisy but nonetheless, great experience! Highly recommend!

Lovely house that is only around a mile from downtown Salem. Very dog friendly. Very comfortable bed with soft linens and Pillows. A short walk to a local pub that has excellent burgers. Our host was away so we had house to ourselves. Very nice house. Very friendly host and incredible value!

I had a wonderful night's stay at Michael's place. I booked last minute and was late getting into town but Michael was very accommodating. It was supposedly the coldest night of the year and Michael made sure I had extra blankets just in case but the room was lovely and very cozy. Michael and his 2 little dogs were amazing and I would recommend this stay for anyone visiting Salem. Thank you so much.

This was the first air bnb I ever stayed in! It was a wonderful experience and I will stay again! The place was PERFECT for my toddler & myself! It is in the HEART of SALEM so everything is in walking distance or you can take the city bus. (Bus stop right across the street) Everything was CLEAN! There was pots & pans for cooking Extra Soap & hair wash Towels & more The WiFi was great. There was nothing wrong with this place at all! (Also a space heater for if you got cold. That made the whole place warm within mins.) Brian makes everything easy for you from check in to check out! Thank you!

Great location. We had 2 cars, but we were able to fit them both in the space provided. Walls a little thin, but neighbor was pretty quiet.

Daliana’s space is absolutely perfect. The location is unmatched. You’re literally in the historic walking line in the heart of Salem. I didn’t need to use my car once to do anything around town. It is spotlessly clean, open, warm, and comfortable. The studio is equipped with everything you need for relaxation and decompressing after a long day of travel or walking around the city. Christopher thinks of every minute detail - body wash/shampoo/conditioner, air freshener, several chargers for electronics in different locations, an Amazon Echo for music, big screen TV with cable, wi-fi, lots of closet and drawer space, everything you need for meal preparation in the kitchen, attractive furnishings, easy access to everything Salem! So many more!!

Perfect spot for a weekend in Salem

We felt right at home in this beautiful suite. It had incredible lighting and such a cozy vibe. It was so easy to access from all the main shops and eateries. The main room is the perfect space for a cup of tea and a good book. We enjoyed our stay so much.

The pictures don't do it justice. This place is an amazing deal and recommend it for anyone going to Salem. It's close to the historic sites and is right by the water. There's a good coffee shop nearby, and downtown is walking distance as well. Garage parking is nice. Amenities are outstanding. Super nice towels and anything else you might need. I stayed here for a week for work. It was a great place to come back to after a long day.

Cute second floor appartment. All the amenities worked, we even had ice cream waiting for us in the freezer! Very good location. Great host, very responsive. Would stay again definitely next time we visit Salem.

Our family of 4 adults stayed for a week at Thanksgiving. Roomy, well appointed, recently and tastefully remodeled, and probably best location in Salem. Great coffee shop and restaurants across the street, and heart of Salem is only a short walk. Very good value. You wont regret it.

We loved staying at Melissa’s place. It was exactly as described and was full of little touches and notes about Salem and the space. Melissa was super fast in responding and very helpful with suggestions. The bed was amazingly comfortable! The neighborhood was awesome for running (right beside a park with trails and lots of hills) and was a super quick drive to the city center. We loved our stay and plan to visit again!

This place is INSANE! Its truly like stepping into the world of Harry Potter. Each room in the home is a different place from the Harry Potter world from the kitchen to the bathroom every detail is done perfectly. Hope provided us with something we will remember for the rest of our lives. Besides the home being extremely and clean and beautiful but the breakfast she makes in the morning is amazing. We sat with Hope for 3 hours and just spoke about Harry Potter and music and art and it was the best morning we have had in Salem. Hope is truly such warm person and we loved talking with her at breakfast and getting to know her. This is a MUST STOP for anyone going to Salem it is worth EVERY PENNY!!!! Thank you again Hope!

Hope does an amazing job! So worth it! I did a one night staycation for my friend as a surprise birthday gift and we loved it. The rooms are even better in person and Hope is very sweet! She cooks great muffins and breakfast, went above what I expected always - even little things offering coffee and tea, water, the beer/wine that was in the fridge not letting us help her clean up. We stayed and had 2 others in the second room she has for AirBNB when we stayed- everyone was talkative so that’s great, but if you keep to yourself I’m sure you’ll be just as happy. I had never stayed in a more bed and breakfast / semi-private space before. I usually rent whole places, and I had NO ISSUE with this. A must see for all Harry Potter fans! (Hope said she has more things she plans to add so we plan to come back at some point for sure!)

If you're ever planning a trip to Salem, and are a Harry Potter/fantasy fan, look no further! We went to Salem for just one night, and Hope's listing did not disappoint! We were greeted with freshly baked cookies, and Hope clearly put in a lot of thoughtful touches to the place, paying attention to detail (for all you Potter fans out there!) The room was very cozy, and well set-up, and while the house is a typical old New England home, it definitely had its own charm. Very walkable to both the commuter rail stop and downtown (which we did). Hope even made us breakfast the next morning!, and had some great suggestions for things to do/see as we had a fun conversation. Highly recommend for the complete Salem experience!

WOW. Are you considering a stay here? Just do it, you will not regret it. There are so many things to love about the Rose Cottage like the attention to detail and artistry in the Harry Potter decor and Hope’s continuing interest in making this better and better. My friend and I were visiting Salem for a long weekend and Hope gave us a warm, welcoming, safe place to come home to every night. That’s really what it felt like, a home.

Perfect location for a visit to the Witch City! We loved the fact we could park our car in our private parking spot and walk to everything in less than five minutes. The first floor apartment is very comfortable, and everything was spotlessly clean. While there is a full sized refrigerator, stove, and sink, there is almost no counter space to prepare a meal. BUT fine restaurants are just minutes away, and the kitchen is perfect to warm up left overs. We totally enjoyed our stay!

Location can't be beat! Daliana's place is just far enough from downtown that it is very quiet, but close enough that it is easy walking distance to all that Salem has to offer. The parking spot was incredibly convenient and check in was super easy. For other guests looking for a good dinner spot, we loved Opus!

Great for visitors with and without a car as there’s convenient free parking on site. Couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. Cozy, charming and clean. The beds are extra comfortable. We were especially excited to see there was a tub and a lovely tea/coffee bar set up. The house is a quick drive or lovely walk into downtown Salem. We found Matty to be quick to respond and very clear in all of his directions. All in all, very pleased with our trip! Colleen's place was wonderful!! It had all the comforts and met my needs for a 5 day stay. Her place is conveniently located just outside of downtown Salem and very close to everything. It's a first floor apartment in a safe quiet neighborhood. The kitchen dining living is an open floorplan which I enjoyed thoroughly. The apartment was super clean!! My only suggestions to Colleen are to supply a couple extra queen size blankets during the winter months. Otherwise, Colleen's place was perfect!!!

There are tons of things to do nearby, including food and drinks. Just a short walk to historic Salem, too! The home itself was very nice and welcoming. Everything was just like the photos, cozy, well put together and well taken care of. The host was so accommodating and kind, as we arrived early and she was able to get us in by 2p. 10/10 stay here. Our stay in Salem was great! This second floor apartment was easy to check in, very home-y with lots of character, and spacious. The amenities provided were great, with a little basket of necessities in the bathroom. It was pretty chilly while we were here, so walking into town or to the T was out, but in nicer weather you definitely could. We would definitely stay here again on our next trip to Salem!

My boyfriend and I have decided that this was our favorite Airbnb we’ve ever stayed in. Jennifer was extremely quick to respond with any questions I had and finding/getting into the apartment was very clear and simple. Parking was also easily available on the street at all times. This place was spotless, well decorated and super cozy. As much as we loved visiting the city of Salem for our trip, we kept on saying how excited we were to get back into the cozy apartment. The bathroom was also stacked with toothbrushes, toothpaste, mouthwash and bunch of other toiletries which I thought was very generous. For my first visit to Salem I’m so happy I chose Jennifer’s airbnb to stay in. Would recommend to anyone.

Very clean and a great price!

We really enjoyed our stay. This is a second floor apartment. Very clean. Charming. About a 20 minute walk into downtown Salem. Walgreens and other convenient stores located within less that 5 minutes walk. Can’t beat this place for the price!

Kitchen-Everything you need to cook is available plus dishes (except bowls) and most important for me is it had coffee! Reastroom- most basic restroom items you need like toilet paper, past , mouthwash ect (no shaving cream) Bedroom- nice room with balcony. Pillows are kinda tuff like bulky . Parking-We parked in the street upfront but there is parking in the back by balcony. The place is pretty chill I'd definitely would stay here again next time I'm in Salem. Not luxuries (no problem because you'll be in downtown Salem all day and just go to apartment to sleep anyways) but it feels like you're in your own apartment , I felt like I was at home. Compared to everything else in Salem especially in October the price and location is good.

Stayed for a quiet weekend in Salem with my girlfriend before the holidays, and we wouldn't hesitate to visit again or refer to a friend! Gus & Ann were extremely accommodating and friendly, and their space was very unique. A perfect proximity to downtown and is within easy walking distance, even for December. They provided great local recommendations and the parking and access was extremely easy. We look forward to making another guestbook entry in the future!

The apartment was great. Clean, comfortable and spacious. I liked having 3 separate rooms (kitchen, living room bedroom and of course, a bathroom). Safe and secure. Plenty of natural sunlight. Creaky floors, but it is an old house. Stairs to the 3rd floor are a bit narrow. Walkable you the center of everything. I would definitely rent it again!!!

There's a reason all of the other reviews are so positive. This place is great! The location is great. The hosts (Ann and Gus) are great! What else could you ask for? Everything is walking distance from the apartment. You don't need a car. The apartment is a one bedroom with a living room and kitchen. Plenty large enough for my friend and I. If I wasn't so averse to the cold weather, I'd ask Gus and Ann if I could move in! I'll definitely be back in the future. You can't go wrong here. It's probably the best Airbnb I've ever rented.

Comfortable apartment with free parking in an amazing location! This apartment is spotless and within easy walking distance to downtown. Ann and Gus went out of their way to make us feel at home, providing directions and local recommendations. Ann even stocked the kitchen with coffee and cream (and local beer, since we were celebrating our anniversary)! The bed was not too hard or soft, and there was very little motion transfer. For fellow tall people (I'm 5'10" and my husband is 6'7"), the ceilings are high and there's no footboard on the bed (yay)!

Their place is a quick 15 minute walk into downtown Salem, 20 minutes if it's icy. They were able to accomodate our late check in when our flight got delayed, so that was great. The only things to note are that if sharing a bathroom with a host is an issue for you, or if you have trouble getting up and down steep stairs, you may want to check out another listing, but they weren't a problem for us, especially given how affordable this place was. The room itself was clean and looked exactly as pictured. Overall, we loved staying here, and it was an awesome value. We'd highly recommend Vanessa and Megan to anyone looking for a great place to stay in Salem.

I had a great stay at Vanessa’s place. Only a 15 minute walk to Salem’s main area. Vanessa was very accommodating and friendly. I felt at home. I enjoyed my time here and would book again.

Megan and Vanessa were fantastic hosts - thoughtful, helpful and kind. Their house is perfectly located near the hospital and a short walk from the centre of Salem. The bedroom has a large, comfortable bed and desk and there is a well-equipped kitchen for those who wish to cook. Their two friendly dogs are a real treat too!

Fantastic space and location! Would stay there again in a heartbeat. The host was very helpful and communicative and definitely went the extra mile. Loved the condo and its furnishings. Can’t beat the location!

Wonderful location in the heart of Salem. We were able to walk everywhere! The host was quick to respond to any questions. He even provided a pack and play and offered to mail a toy back to us that our son left behind. The space was clean, nice and open, and right across from a park. Highly recommend and we would stay again!

Marcie was an absolute delight and we were so happy to have stayed in such a beautiful and historic home. Definietly made the last stop of our honeymoon trip all the more memorable. A bonus to a truly warm home is the two cats that are a pick me up when missing your own furry friends. Loved our stay!

GREAT location. Walking distance to anything in Salem. Marcie is a very accommodating and engaging host. We never felt like we were bothering her or her family. He husband was also very friendly and helpful with suggestions for food, entertainment, etc. Zero complaints.

Our staying at Marcie's home was absolutely great! The private room is very spacious and amazing, and the whole house is wonderful: definitely one of the most beautiful in Salem! The cleanings are perfect, the neighborhood is lovely and the city center can be reached on foot in a few minutes. Marcie is really a great host: she replies immediately to the questions and she is also always ready to provide suggestions about the attractions of Salem. She is very very kind: she eventually gave us a lift by car till her house! If you are planning to go to Salem, that's the place to stay!

This place was perfect for a girls trip to see Salem! Only a 10 minute drive to Salem. Everything was clean, and the beds were very comfortable!

Kathleen’s loft exceeded my expectations of an amazing airbnb. Her loft is in a great location, very cozy and private. Check-in was easy and the loft is accessible with a keypad. The space is clean and you can control the temperature of the room which was a huge plus for me because several airbnbs I’ve stayed at were either too hot or too cold and couldn’t do anything about the temperature. Kathleen is easy to communicate with and had many wonderful recommendations on things to do around Marblehead and Salem. She is a very thoughtful host and I highly recommend her airbnb!

My wife and I had the best time since we our honeymoon at Kathleen's and in Marblehead. Kathleen, even though she didn't have to, went above and beyond to make us comfortable. We arrived to town by train and then by local bus. Since we were early, Kathleen allowed us to drop off our bags early. Our visit was primarily to visit Salem. Kathleen and the terrific town of Marblehead stole our hearts. I will have to thank the hosts that cancelled our original reservation with. Otherwise, we may never have found the best place to stay on our anniversary. Hopefully, we'll be able to visit Marblehead. If we do, our first choice would definitely be Kathleen's.

Kathleen’s place is so cute and was perfect for my friend and I on our short trip! We were in the area to explore Salem for their October festivities, and the location was a convenient spot to grab a Lyft to and from. Check-in was a breeze, and Kathleen was always very responsive and included great tips for both Salem and Marblehead. Her space felt secure, cozy and had everything we needed. Highly recommended!

Kathleen was an amazing and thoughtful host and the space was just as great. Communication was very easy and Kathleen gave great recommendations about local restaurants and places to visit. I have a very bad back and the room and the beds were very comfortable and relaxing. Would definitely stay here again if I’m in the area!

Beyond amazing host! Almost instant replies to DM's. Location is with in reasonable walking distance to all the Salem attractions. Neighborhood is so safe and quiet, w beautiful murals everywhere. Bill was very easy to talk to while also recognizing your need for alone time. I slept so good and would recommend him to any travelers!

Bill is very kind and welcoming. Very quick to help with suggestions about the area. The rooms he has are very stylish, tidy, and comfortable. The location is great. Everything we wanted to see was within walking distance (A mile at most).

We were hesitant to stay in a shared space since we’d never done that before, but don’t worry! It’s not awkward at all. This spot is in the perfect location; Salem is very walkable and this space is in a central location. Bill left a pile of sight seeing brochures in the room which is helpful for those who don’t have everything planned out already. The space was clean. I really enjoyed the plants everywhere. There was a basket in the bathroom with little toiletry items in case you forget anything. Bill is very thoughtful, easy to communicate with, and fun to talk to.

Bill’s space is lovely and the room was spacious. Very good location, a nice walk from Essex St and all the tourist attractions. This was our first time staying in a private room and we had a great vacation. We can’t wait for our next trip!

Size is a little small, but the location is AMAZING for tourism, and price is very reasonable. Internet was great quality, and there was a good DVD collection. Definitely worth what you pay for.

This place is perfect for a weekend in Salem whether it’s for a wedding or a getaway with friends. The room is exactly what you need. A reliable shower, a comfortable bed and lots of space for you stuff and anything you accumulate while you’re in Salem. It’s not extravagant but a truly perfect budget option for a few nights.

I’ve stayed with Brian a bunch of times when I’ve been in town, and it’s always great. Place is located right downtown so it’s convenient to restaurants and attractions. If you’re not looking for something fancy this is always perfect.

This is an awesome place ...it’s as given in the photos..very new apartment ...free laundry and the washer and dryer machines are very good...good neighborhood...salem commuter rail is close by if you want to go to Boston downtown...

Had to stay here a month while I was in transition between residences. It’s a small space but very comfy and right near the North Shore Mall. Jennifer was an excellent host and was very quick with responses and following up with any issues. I would stay here again if I needed to.

Comfortable, affordable and close to DT SALEM!!You can walk places to eat get souvenirs and take nice pictures! I was out exploring but the beds, couch and the kitchen space were good.

Wonderful place very close to downtown Salem! What you get is exactly as described: a comfortable, clean place with all the amenities needed but no frills. We visited during winter and the place was nice and warm, the owner even left a space heater in case we needed it. We found it to be the perfect base to explore Salem and all it has to offer. Recommend for a weekend-getaway or other type of stay where you want to spend most of your time out and about but come back to a cozy accommodation.

Norman’s place was awesome. It was within walking distance to multiple restaurants, bars, shops and the water. Couldn’t have asked for a better location! It was easy to navigate town with the local info left for us as well as being just a short drive from the train station to easily get into Boston! Fantastic place and location! Norman’s was super cute, and very convenient to everything. The weather was raw, but still so easy to walk to bars and breakfast. It was actually very cozy inside and out. The apartment was larger than we expected. Having a parking spot was excellent. We would recommend Norman’s place to anyone wanting a local feel of downtown Marblehead. We especially love The Barnacle! Will definitely be back.

Me and my wife stayed here for two nights and loved it. The space was exactly what we wanted for our weekend in Salem. The apartment was super clean and really interesting, so many unexpected details in the decor. It was a cold weekend and the heater worked very well, and we had full control over the temperature. Our host had coffee and a new milk for us in the fridge and fresh fruit which was thoughtful. There were lots of extra blankets and pillows and the water pressure in the shower was surprisingly strong. Also, the parking in the driveway was super convenient. And even though there was a note on the inside of our door to watch not to lock yourself out, we did but Norman was quick to answer our call and let us back in. Overall we would definitely recommend staying here to friends & family!

Norman’s home was very quaint and cute. It was located near everything we needed to see. Norman was kind and helpful and provided us with all the information we needed.

We stayed here to avoid the insanely high costs of staying in Salem during the fall. It worked out perfectly! The space was clean and very cute. I loved the way the house was styled. The drive to Salem was very quick and easy, very much worth not spending $500 a night to stay directly in Salem. However the apartment door cannot be locked while you’re not home so if you’re weary about staying somewhere that’s not very private this might not be the place for you. Other than that we had a great time and would definitely recommend this place.

Big spacious apartment, full kitchen which makes for awesome home cooked meals. Walking distance from the great city of Salem and not a bad drive to the city of Boston. Made for a fantastic home on our mini vaca.

We throughly enjoyed our stay. Between the sweet personal touches to the close proximity to downtown, this was exactly what we were hoping for. For those who appreciate the occult, these floorboards and door frames seemed to be original and definitely had a feeling to them that brought us back to a time before wifi and Air bnbs. Absolutely would recommend and come again.

With a cozy appeal, beautiful location and plenty of places for a nice walk. Bring your bicycle! The bike paths are everywhere and there is plenty to see and do. This is one of those places where you feel right at home!

The apartment is very cozy and in a great location. We were only about 1 mile from town and had a beautiful view of the water. The weather was chilly and the heated floors in the bathroom were a great touch! The bed was comfortable and warm and warm as well. The neighborhood is so peaceful and cute. My husband and i enjoyed our time here.
