Puglia in your heart
After our welcome we’ll offer you a no alcoholic drink with fresh fruit if you prefer and you will also enjoy our pool waiting for the beginning. As soon as we’ll be ready, we’ll begin with our traditional cooking lesson where our mothers and grandmothers will show you all the techniques for making Focaccia, handmade pasta and cheese. They will teach you all the techniques of the past and you will have to prepare everything with them. When every dishes will be ready, the focaccia will be baked in the wood-fired oven and you will have dinner with the products of yourselves made (Focacce, Orecchiette and Formaggio) and also other traditional dishes we will prepare for you. Obviously water, beer and wine are included. Apulian olive oil tasting
Welcome to our home! We will welcome you in our laboratory, the place where we keep, label and ship our extra virgin olive oil. After the countryside and the oil mill, this is where our thoughts, our lives, and where we meet gourmet friends from all over the world! You will participate in a guided tasting of extra virgin olive oil to learn how to recognize its quality, flavors and aromas through tasting with the classic blue glasses of a professional taster. We will offer you a taste of different extra virgin olive oils (depending on the availability of the harvest) and of the range of natural flavored products of our production, made with essential oils extracted in a natural way. After a first taste in purity, we will offer you tasty bruschetta of local durum wheat bread, to be seasoned with the tasted oils, typical friselline dressed with our olive patè, a taste of dried tomatoes and vegetables in oil, local honey, our almonds and a glass of local rosé wine. We will spend a pleasant and tasty hour together!
Making and cooking pasta One by One Homemade orecchiette
Armed with board, flour and water, we will make together with our guests Orecchiette, a typical Apulian pasta shape. We will cook them following the traditional recipes, with fresh scattarisciati tomatoes or with cime di rapa (turnip greens), depending on the season. Along countryside streets, among Trulli, Masserie and dry-stone walls, I will show you the places I love and live in my everyday life, cycling together for 20 km (about 12 miles). We’ll leave from Alberobello, capital of Trulli, heading to Locorotondo, one of the most stunning villages in Valle d’Itria. Here, we’ll get in touch with local people and discover a traditional deli. It would be the opportunity to taste the typical Apulian focaccia, just baked by Giovanni, all accompanied by a glass of good wine or another drink. Then, before coming back to Alberobello, we’ll stop at Maria's bakery to eat some local almond sweets.
