Places to stay in Salt Point
Idyllic cabin overlooks forest, field & stream in central Dutchess County. Living room w/wood stove and gas heater. Carpeted bedroom w/queen-sized bed, tiled bathroom w/clawfoot tub, and kitchen w/gas stove. Twin or queen bed in the main room accommodates 1 - 2 more guests. A mile to the Taconic Parkway, 90 minutes to Manhattan - an amazing change of scene! Near Rhinebeck, Millbrook, Hyde Park, and Metro North - this is an ideal location for a weekend get-away or writer's or artist's retreat.
  • Santha’s cabin was a little slice of heaven for me and my family. Location was very secluded from any main roads and more in the farther back roads of Salt Point. When you arrive, it’s like going back in time and visiting a family member’s really comfy homestead. Our dogs enjoyed the open fields to roam and run around, near the back of the property. Our toddler also enjoyed the endless exploration possibilities during our stay. There is a recycling and compost option available at all times in the cabin during your stay which was very nice to have available. When you step into this tiny home/cabin you realize it’s such a perfect size for any minimal family that needs a good night’s rest and just the right amount of vacation amenities. This specific cabin doesn’t have any air conditioning but it does have mesh screens on a few windows that provide a great source of fresh air. It’s also mostly shaded. We ended up borrowing a window unit from some friends during our stay to keep cool but otherwise if the weather stayed as low as it was in the beginning, we would have been completely fine without one. Everything was clean and set up nicely. We will definitely be back in the future!!

  • Lovely cottage in the woods. All amenities you need plus peace and serenity.

  • Great little cottage back behind Santha’s house. They have beautiful land and it was a pleasure to be on it. So peaceful and lovely. Santha was warm and welcoming. The cottage has everything you need and great bedding - the pillows were fantastic (so often I find people use cheap and it stinks). I stayed here while doing a program st omega, which was 15 minutes away and glad I did because loved coming back to my own space.

  • Comfortable, quiet, rural setting. Great amenities and very convenient to Marist College.

  • Nice house, rustic and cozy, with all comforts and details; the garden and the pond are very peaceful, very nice view. The hosts gave us a very warmth welcoming and many little details that made our experience even more special. Thank you!

  • Thanks for your kind hospitality to our family; we enjoyed every moment and felt perfectly relaxed and refreshed. The music of birds every morning, the bubble baths, dips into the lil' pool, and the excitement of smores under stars each evening are just samples of our favorite moments. We so enjoyed our stay; thanks a bunch!

    Benjamin2018-06-12T00:00:00Z
  • Peace and quiet, comfortable bedding, towels, breakfast basics and snacks, plus all the amenities you need to feel at home. We had a great stay and this was my second visit.

    Lacretia2018-05-20T00:00:00Z
  • Ray and Irene's barn is an absolute gem. 15 mins from Rhinebeck, it is set beside an orchard and in front of a lake with geese and horses grazing on the other side. Ray and Irene greeted us at check in and made sure we were completely comfortable. A bottle of wine was waiting for us, a fully stocked fridge as were other items including beautiful eggs from their chickens. The barn itself is gorgeous and my wife, son and two dogs had a lovely stay during our visit from NYC. Their hospitality and attention to detail is second to none and we'd love to return. This is the blueprint for how AirBnB should be.

    Mark2018-05-15T00:00:00Z
  • Where to begin? As someone said in a previous review, Ray and Irene have raised the bar for airbnb experiences. We were up for Vassar graduation as well as moving our youngest out of his college. We had a very busy schedule which meant that the thoughtful and copious food selection, bottle of wine, well-equipped kitchen, stylish immaculate bathroom, lovely soaps and bubble bath, etc were all much appreciated. Everything you need if you are attending functions. BUT then when we had time for fun, we had a lovely lovely view, firepit (Irene delivered fresh smore's ingredients), swimming tub, grill, fishing and canoeing! We just had such a good time hanging out and relaxing between our events. Thank you to Ray and Irene!

    Mary Beth2018-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • The barn is absolutely adorable. Super cozy, you feel like you're at home. It is so peaceful, a nice getaway that gives you a taste of the country side while still being close to the nearby towns/ night life. Will definitely be staying again!

The cabin sits on 27 acres of land, is private and quiet, yet spacious for you to enjoy!
The Cabin sits on 27 acres, which includes a horse paddock and run-in shed. There are two bedrooms and a loft along with two bathrooms. The two bedrooms each have queen sized beds; there is a loft (third bedroom) which has two single beds and there is a fold out sofa in the living room for a total of sleeping capacity for 8. Our guests will have access to the entire house except for the basement. We respect the privacy of our guests, but are available to answer any questions or concerns they might have. We also have a maintenance person nearby to help in the event there is need for one. The neighborhood abounds with winding country roads, farms and open meadows, turn of the century buildings, forested parcels and little villages with the character of a bygone era. Perfect for those who enjoy plenty of nature, boutique farms and antiquing. The Culinary Institute of America nearby along with the Vanderbilt Mansion on the Hudson River. Rhinebeck is closeby also. A car is a must out here! Bring your own horse and keep it in our paddock with a run-in shed, or visit one of the many places that offer riding.
  • It's a beautiful and cozy house in the middle of the woods. So if you are looking for a truly city escape, that's the place to be. The place is a little bit remote, but restaurants, hiking trails and sightseeing attractions are accessible within 15-20' drive. The house was clean and had everything we needed for a weekend stay. Loved the green lawn in front of the house and a nice patio with grill at the back, where we spent most of the time. Communications with the host was fast and easy. Ann Marie was very flexible in terms of check-in/check-out time, which we really appreciated as it's not that easy to travel with the kids. I'd definitely recommend this place to my friends, and will keep it in mind for the future trips.

    Elena2016-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • Ann Marie was great and we loved the house. It was very clean, organized and great for my family. We had a great time at the cabin.

    Seth2015-11-28T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was beautiful, exactly how AnnMarie described on the listing. The area is wonderful is you want to get away, enjoy some wooded areas and horse country. AnnMarie was a very nice hostess, helped with local information and had a bag of chocolate chip cookies on the counter when we arrived. Our family all enjoyed the stay, back patio is wonderful to sit and relax. David

"Hollow Cottage" is a mid-century guesthouse nestled in the woods on our 3-acre property. Featuring old wood beams, new floors and a wood burning stove, the cottage is a true escape from it all. Just 1 and 1/2 hours from New York City, Hollow Cottage is a perfect getaway. Located in beautiful Staatsburg, we are minutes from Rhinebeck and Hyde Park. Close to Omega Institute, Rhinebeck Aerodrome, FDR home, Vanderbilt Mansion, Culinary Institute of America, Bard, Vassar, and so much more!
The kitchen is equipped with all the necessities and all towels and bedding are provided. The wood stove is fully functional and we encourage you to use it. Wood is right outside the door. The house is heated by electric baseboard heats and there are easy to use thermostats. A Pack 'n Play is in the closet and we'd love you to bring your baby and kids! Plenty of board games for your enjoyment, but we've also got a 42in 4k TV with Apple TV. HBO, Showtime and Netflix are included. Complimentary Kiehl's bath products and a special treat when you arrive...
Staatsburg is ideally located because it is half-way between Hyde Park and Rhinebeck. Hyde Park is home to the FDR house and museum, the Culinary Institute of America (amazing restaurants!), the Vanderbilt Mansion and much more. Rhinebeck is, in our opinion, the most pleasant and adorable town in the Valley, with some of the best restaurants and farms and the absolute best farmers market. Our house is also very close to the Taconic Parkway, which is an important thing when coming up from the City. It really will take you around 1:45 without traffic, 2-2:15 with. You're also ideally situated for day trips all over the area. Hudson (our favorite), Red Hook, Germantown, Woodstock, Saugerties, Kingston, Catskills Hiking, skiing, etc. etc. Everything is within an hour... There is a very beautiful, cheap and fun (if not challenging) golf course in Staatsburg, which is otherwise a really small town.
  • We had a great weekend at Hollow Cottage. Perfect for visiting nearby sights in Hyde Park and Rhinebeck, and for a restful (Email hidden by Airbnb) munication was easy, and the place was beautifully decorated.

    Rotem2017-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely and inviting space to spend the weekend with thoughtful details to make our stay comfortable. The location is great for a relaxing weekend in the woods while being not too far from town. We were able to access ride hailing services to head into Rhinebeck for dinner each night (give yourself plenty of time for a ride to show up). Scott was super helpful when we encountered some issues. Would absolutely stay again.

    Deanne2018-04-08T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second stay at Ali and Scott's, and it was just as perfect as we remembered. We can't wait to return again!

    Alison2017-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome hosts and a beautiful location. So comfortable, especially for my 4 month old baby, she had no issues sleeping in a new place; super cozy! :)

    Ruby2018-05-14T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is absolutely picturesque and the wood stove was perfect for a cozy winter weekend. Ali & Scott were perfect hosts and extremely communicative (there was a horrible storm the weekend we visited and they provided updates on power/plowing of the roads etc.) We also enjoyed exploring the town of Rhinebeck and hiking near the river!

    Courtney2018-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • This place is cozy and well equipped. Nice touches galore! (Kiehl’s toiletries and Meyer soaps) Great location for quick drive to local points of interest. Or if you just wanted to stay inside and be cozy and lazy, it’s a perfect space. Ali and Scott are not intrusive at all but will help right away if you need something. We would stay there again in a heartbeat!

    Elena2017-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first Air B&B and we were blown away with every aspect of our trip! The wood stove was perfect as it was the coldest day of the year so far . Ali and Scott's attention to detail really made for a great weekend. Everything you could think of and then some was tucked away in a cabinet. We were so delighted when we found disposable slippers because we forgot ours. Next time we are in town we know where we are staying !!

    Chris2017-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • We gave this treasure 5 stars all around. It was perfect for our winter holiday. I plan on returning when I attend Omega Institute this summer. The hosts were most thoughtful and accommodating. I would like to have Ali and Scott redo my house as this cottage is so cute!! A treasure indeed.

  • We had a pleasant stay despite the rainy weather. The apt is nice and it looks like the pictures. Sondra is really nice she had stocked up the fridge with breakfast items and water . She also gave us directions to the closest stop and shop and ideas for things to do nearby. You do need a car to go around. The water smells but I heard this is common to upstate NY. Overall a very nice experience.

    Cecile2016-05-09T00:00:00Z
  • Sondra was an outstanding hostess. She has a beautiful location so close to OMEGA Institute. She makes you feel right at home! I recommend 110%! I felt completely in the spirit at this location! She is so accommodating ! Thank you so much Sondra ! I don’t feel like I could have stayed at a nicer place in my spiritual state !!

  • Sandy's lovely apartment is nestled amongst the trees and you instantly feel it's serenity. She has so many great food and drink choices available that you could probably stay cozily inside for a week! We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to anyone traveling to Rhinebeck or Omega. It's very spacious. And if your're lucky maybe she will show you the most beautiful bunnies housed inside their garage. Carey and Kelly

  • Sondra was a great host! She was very easy to communicate with and very accommodating. She made our stay very welcoming and enjoyable. We would highly recommend this place to anyone traveling to the Hudson Valley!!

    Beverly2016-11-13T00:00:00Z
  • Sondra and Mike are great hosts. This was our second time staying with them. The apt is clean and welcoming. Mike offered to start the fire place for us and showed us how to do it ourselves. All the necessities were available including milk, eggs and OJ in the fridge. It's great having a place where we can bring our dogs with us. Sondra also recommended a couple of good spots to take the dogs for a nice walk. Comfy beds, cozy fireplace and great Adirondack chairs to hang out on.

    Michael2016-03-28T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was a delightful retreat from the professional training we attended at Omega. The surroundings were private and beautiful. The beds were super comfy, the kitchen had everything we needed, it was all super clean, and Sondra was a warm and friendly host. I hope to find reason to stay again.

    Lisa2018-07-27T00:00:00Z

Ferness is a lovely country compound on 75 private acres of woods and gardens (30.35 hectares), with a one-acre swimming pond (.40 hectares), a waterfall, a horse barn, a playhouse, and three spacious paddocks. Formerly owned by a painter and a puppeteer, your hosts now are an actor-filmmaker and a crime novelist. We've been lucky enough to travel the world, and look forward to welcoming guests from everywhere!
Our guest house accommodations have three bedrooms: two with queen beds, one with a king. It's most comfortable for three couples and two kids, though a lot of grownups have enjoyed sleeping on the twin mattresses in our "Star Loft." For kids there are two hidden twin beds in a loft space behind sliding barn doors, with a ceiling full of 900 glow-in-the dark stars. There are two full baths with a tub/shower in each. The kitchen is well-equipped with place settings for twelve, a full array of high-quality pots and pans, chef's knives and a large cutting board, a Keurig coffee maker with a variety of coffee and hot chocolate pods, a toaster, a Sodastream machine, a dishwasher, fridge, and four-burner stove with microwave and full oven. The adjacent dining area seats six, and has French doors opening onto a flagstone terrace that has a great view of the rose garden, pond, and countryside. There's a table and four chairs out there, along with a fire pit and a pair of chaises longues. The upstairs living room is our entertainment center, with a TV, full cable service, and loads of DVDs. Our library is well-stocked with several hundred novels and nonfiction titles for all ages and tastes. High-speed cable wireless is available throughout the house. Downstairs you'll find a record player with a diverse collection of classic LPs, a wide selection of board games, and a cozy wood stove. We have a pair of stable, sturdy fiberglass pedal-powered paddle boats (with life jackets!), a dock you can fish for bass and sunnies from, and sixty-five acres of private wooded trails for walking, snowshoeing, horseback riding, and cross country skiing. The pond is also great for swimming or skating (weather/ice conditions permitting) and you'll find a croquet set, a tetherball, and a horseshoe court on the lawn out behind the barn. If you're a horse person, you're welcome to bring your ponies and steeds for rough board. We have a four-stall barn, a tack room, an outdoor wash area with halter rings and rubber flooring, and three paddocks. (Two of the latter are across the road, and have a run-in shed.) We can provide bedding, but you're responsible for feed, etc. The driveway has two entrances from Browning Road, so you'll never have to back up a horse trailer in a cramped space. We're a great place to crash if you're coming to the area for a three-day event, hunt, or horse show.
We're in a neighborhood that's very rural, surrounded by old farms and country houses. There are lots of nearby local stables if you'd like to go riding, many orchards and berry farms, and great farmer's markets in Rhinebeck and Poughkeepsie. This area has a long and wonderful history of artists, artisans, farmers, and craftspeople living and working together, and has been a favorite summer getaway since well before the days of Edith Wharton, and even Henry Hudson.
  • I had the most wonderful stay. The guest house is so friendly and comfortable, with charming little details that make it Incredibly unique. The property is really amazing, there’s a sweet waterfall that’s very zen-like, a big pond, tons of gorgeous trees and meadows for days. This morning I woke up early and sat by the waterfall and read. It was just beautiful. This time of year I got the full flowering of the apple blossoms, everything is in bloom! Cornelia and Peter were such helpful, kind and enthusiastic hosts. They eagerly planned and mapped out an itinerary that got me to FDR’s Home and Presidential Library in Hyde Park, some great Vintage stores and even recommended Matchbox, a wonderful restaurant that was an old converted gas station. I can attest that anything you need or any questions you have about the area they will happily assist. My only hesitation is to continue telling you how great my stay was. I’m worried It will get too popular for me to return!

    Belinda2018-05-09T00:00:00Z
  • Peter and Cornelia's home was exceptional. This is a beautiful retreat from city life and we hope to return. Thank you!

    Aretha2018-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • This was a wonderful stay by every measure. Peter & Cornelia are phenomenal hosts that truly went above and beyond. Their home is unique, quite spacious and tucked away on a picture perfect setting. Their property alone is so fantastic you almost have no reason to leave – and our dog absolutely loved the swimming pond. Peter and Cornelia were fast to respond and help answer all of our questions and introduce us to some wonderful places to eat. Peter was waiting for us to arrive (even though we got in late) and he even had candles, wine & a happy birthday sign waiting for me and my wife when we showed up. We would absolutely stay here again. What a great experience!

    Brian2018-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Peter and Cornelia's place was fantastic. I stayed with a group of girlfriends who wanted to escape NYC and it couldn't have been more perfect. The garden was so very special, as was the pond and the rest of the grounds. We even had a bbq. The beds were comfy too and everyone kept commenting what an amazing airbnb experience this was. I communicated with Cornelia and she is an excellent host. She was there to greet us and provided us with a welcome snack too! I'm sad we couldn't stay longer. I hope to return soon.

    Maritza2018-06-03T00:00:00Z
  • We LOVED this house. The grounds are awesome. If you come in the summertime, you can swim, kayak and fish in the pond like we did! (They didn't have fishing stuff, but had everything else at the house). Inside, we used the games and books. Our family had a blast when here for two days and barely left the house. The house was stylishly decorated. Tons of little touches. The kitchen was stocked with enough pots/pans, flatware and other for us to cook multiple meals for 8 folks. We used the grill too. Two things to note about the layout -- 1.The twin beds (glow in the dark) are definitely better for kiddos. If someone is claustrophobic, they might not like the light up beds. 2. There is a bathroom in each floor. The second floor bathroom is inside a bedroom so if you don't want to go that persons bedroom -- you can use thcan downstairs bathroom instead. Peter and Cornelia were helpful and communicative. Toast is such a friendly cat, too...We loved the house and would bring the whole family back! Thank you Peter and Cornelia!

    Philip2018-06-26T00:00:00Z
  • Great place, location and people! Peter and Cornelia couldn’t have been better hosts. We’ll be back for sure!

    Paula2018-07-16T00:00:00Z

    Kadmiella2018-05-12T00:00:00Z
  • Such a great space with great hosts! Everything you could possibly need is at the house. The pond is great and they have so many indoor and out door games. Would recommend for any group big or small. I'll be back!

Welcome to The Burrow, our cozy, quirky, slightly crooked (just like its namesake) home, we hope you'll love it as much as we do. Nestled in the country, surrounded by woods and overlooking Wappinger Creek, the house was built in 1815 and still has lots of original charm, with some updates. We're only 7 minutes from the Omega Institute, 23 minutes from CIA, and 18 minutes from Rhinebeck. There's a fire pit and wood stove, and lots to do in all seasons. We hope to see you soon!
Our house sits on an acre of land with nothing behind it but woods. You can barely see the neighbors. It's built into a hill so please be aware that there are stairs to get to the entrance as well as narrow ones inside to get to the bedrooms. It's an old house, nothing is straight and some ceilings are a little low but that's why we love it. It is our getaway too so don't expect sterile Ikea surroundings, we've tried to make it as comfy and relaxing as we can. Curl up on the daybed in the sunroom and read one of our books, watch a movie from our collection while a fire crackles in the wood-stove, play boardgames while dinner cooks in our brand new kitchen, grill outside on the deck, or spend the evening on the patio around the fire-pit listening the to sounds of the woods at night, it's up to you. There is space downstairs for yoga, or even better, go outside to the deck and enjoy some nature with your practice. There is no cable but there is a FireTv Stick loaded with Amazon content, Netflix, and SlingTv. The whole house is equipped with Sonos speakers. AT&T cell service isn't great but we have reliable wifi and Verizon works better in the yard. There are two bedrooms upstairs with queen beds, one bedroom also has a twin sized trundle in the corner perfect for a child. Downstairs there is a very comfy foldout couch in the living room and a twin daybed in the sunroom. Please be aware that although we love kids (we have one ourselves) the house is not baby proof, furniture is not strapped to the walls and there is a step down into the kitchen that cannot be gated. Also good to know, the kitchen floor is brick and can feel cold or damp at times, we recommend slippers in the winter and you should feel free to keep your shoes on in the summer. The house is located only 7 minutes from the Omega Institute, 10 minutes from the Dutchess Wine Trail, and less than 20 minutes from Rhinebeck where you can go shopping in adorable and unique shops, or have an amazing dinner at any number of local restaurants. The Culinary Institute of America is also about 20 minutes away for more amazing dining. The area is overflowing with hiking trails, antique shops, and farms where you can purchase fresh produce and meats.
The Area: The house is located only 7 minutes from the Omega Institute, 10 minutes from the Dutchess Wine Trail, and less than 20 minutes from Rhinebeck where you can go shopping in adorable and unique shops, or have an amazing dinner at any number of local restaurants. The Culinary Institute of America is also about 20 minutes away for more amazing dining. The area is overflowing with hiking trails, antique shops, and farms where you can purchase fresh produce and meats. Some of our favorite spots in the area: In Rhinebeck: Liberty Public House - great cocktails in a very cozy bar, yummy dinner in their beautiful dining room, outdoor dining and drinking in the summer. Terapin - and old church converted into a beautiful restaurant and causal bistro. Outdoor dining in the summer. Get the porkchop, you won't be disappointed. Shelter - underground speakeasy with delicious cocktails and small plates. Live music on the weekends. Grand Cru Beer and Cheese Market - gourmet shop and tasting bar with an extensive craft beer selection, plus cheese and charcuterie boards. Matchbox Cafe - tiny cafe just outside downtown Rhinebeck with a constantly changing menu of home cooked sandwiches and specials. Best desserts around. Bread Alone Bakery - great spot for breakfast or just to grab a coffee and a loaf of fresh bread or pastry. Upstate Films - Nonprofit, cash-only cinema showing indie, foreign, and classic movies since the 1970s. Near Home: Shultzville General Store - excellent sandwiches and breakfast, brunch on the weekends, and Friday night dinners (requires a reservation). Everyone is super friendly. You can also pick up coffee, beer, milk, and a few grocery items. Groceries: Hahn Farm - local farm about 10 minutes away with seasonal produce and home grown meats. Pick up your Thanksgiving turkey here, cut your own Christmas tree (we do!!), or visit their Fall Festival. Migliorelli Farm Stands - several locations. Fresh produce, apple cider, some baked goods. Sawkill Farm in Red Hook - delicious meats and stocks, sheep pelts, leather goods, handmade soaps. Rhinebeck Farmer's Market - Sundays 10-2, Mother's Day-Thanksgiving, Rhinebeck Municipal Parking Lot. Winter market January 14, 28, February 11, 25, March 11, 25, April 8, 22, Rhinebeck Town Hall. Adam's Fairacre Farms in Poughkeepsie and Kingston (about 20 minutes to either). Fresh local produce, plants, all your grocery needs in one spot. Bring a quarter if you want a cart at the Poughkeepsie location. Tops in Rhinebeck, it's a big grocery store if that's what you need. Hiking: Mills Norrie State Park - Year round hiking trails, a public golf course, and a river marina. Drayton Grant Park at Burger Hill - A half-mile trail leads uphill through open meadows to a 550-foot hilltop affording panoramic vistas stretching from the Berkshires to the Catskills. Great for kids and pets. Ferncliff Forest - 200-acre forest preserve and game refuge with trails for hiking and biking, a fishing pond, and a fire tower you can climb (if you dare).
  • The Burrow is an incredible getaway spot. The house is absolutely adorable and located in idyllic surrounds. It's hard to nominate a favorite spot inside the house - whether the stunning kitchen, spectacular communal dining table, the cosy lounge room, or the delectable reading nook in the the main bedroom. Outside is just as fantastic - whether the beautiful entertainment area where we enjoyed a lovely weekend cookout or the fire pit (who doesn't want to enjoy a fire under the Hudson Valley stars on their getaway?!). The house is located a short driving distance from Rhinebeck (a tad over 15minutes), yet feels like you've really escaped the hustle-bustle. If you're at the Burrow on a Sunday morning - be sure to try the brunch at the Schultzville General Store (only 5 minutes drive down the road) - it was super delicious. In short - look no further - book yourself in to the Burrow - you will not regret it! We hope to be back make it back again soon! Many thanks to Elizabeth and Susan - true Superhosts!

  • We spent a week at The Burrow, and it was the perfect upstate creative retreat from the city. I was able to finish a second draft on a screenplay, and our terrier was in dog heaven watching for squirrels, rabbits, deer and even wild turkeys all day. The Burrow is a beautifully appointed, cozy home away from home. The photos look great, but the house is even better in person. The kitchen is completely stocked with everything you need to prepare amazing meals with farm fresh ingredients from around the region, the beds are insanely comfortable, and the fireplace in the living room makes a perfect end to chilly days. We can't wait to come back this summer to fully enjoy the yard and the fire pit.

  • The Burrow is a wonderful, beautiful and comfortable place to stay. I was at a training at Omega for the week and the house was a five minute drive away. The furnishings are beautiful and the setting is private. Thank you so much for a lovely week!

  • The Burrow is perfect perfection! Everything was so tidy and clean. A very well-stocked Cottage. Although the bedrooms had air-conditioning units in the windows, the downstairs living spaces did not so they did get quite warm; especially on the weekend we were there due to the outside times being well over 90°. Thank you Elizabeth and Susan for sharing the Burrow with us. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the comforts of your charming cottage.

    Rosanna2018-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved this place. A snow storm took out power for the whole area, but the fireplace saved us, and Beth was extremely accommodating and helpful. We will definitely be back!

  • If you want a quaint home in the beautiful Hudson Valley then look no further. The house is fully furnished with all the trappings of home and they have everything you could possibly imagine. The house has tons of character and they just thought of everything and anything to keep you occupied within the home. Very thoughtful and just so much appreciated. We will definitely be back soon. The property is beautiful as are the surrounding woods.

  • Stayed at the "Burrow" with some friends from work, the house was great! It was clean, well decorated, and it had actual kitchen cookware. The woodstove in the livingroom is perfect for cold winter nights. Overall a great experience.

    David2018-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • The home is really wonderful. It’s got all the quirks of a historic house but the kitchen and bathroom are new (while keeping with the historical feel). Even better, the hosts leave helpful notes and labels about the house and neighborhood. (We tried a restaurant recommendation and it was great!) And, there are games to play, dvds if you want, and they make you feel at home. Sadly it rained while we were there so we couldn’t take advantage of the fire pit and outdoors, but they looked lovely too.

  • Really lovely stay at an incredible location. Beautiful cabin and amazing views. A really great little town with lots of opportunities to explore. My girlfriend and I enjoyed spending the winter nights by the roaring fire with a glass of wine. Sad we didn't see and cows but that just means we'll be back in warmer weather. The perfect getaway!

  • My girlfriend, Angela, and I, stay at many Airbnb's while we travel; and this one has to be one of our top experiences. Our favorite thing about the cabin was the setting. Beyond the house, there are rolling green fields and mountains as far as the eye can see. Waking up to this view is so rejuvenating. The property is expansive, and ideal for serene, quiet country walks. We loved the warmth of the home, which is very clean and spacious. Communicating with Merida was excellent, she was so helpful with the booking process. The area is also perfect for exploring towns like Rhinebeck, Kingston or Millerton. Thank you Merida, hope we can stay again soon!

    Timothy2016-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • Cow Cabin is a really special place- amazing views, quiet, beautiful and very comfortable. Merida is a great and responsive host but there is a lot of privacy and just the cows and the birds for company. Delightful!!

  • Cow cabin was a fabulous retreat from NYC. Everything was perfect and as described. Lovely home, clean, quiet and convenient. The hosts were a pleasure and helpful. Highly recommended.

  • Great stay! Wonderful cabin. Thank you !

    Jenny2017-12-25T00:00:00Z
  • Nice and cozy place, beautiful setting.

    Sean2017-12-17T00:00:00Z
  • The Cow Cabin is located on a hill with open views over rolling hills where several cows graze. The views give an immediate feeling of openness and freedom. The interior is very open, with lots of light (and views) coming into the house through the many windows. The listing description and the pictures are very accurate, but you will still be surprised when you set foot in the Cabin: the views and the interior are wonderful. Mérida and Chip have done a great job looking into every detail to make the guests feel at home. Mérida is a fantastic communicator and she made herself available for anything we may need during our stay without ever being intrusive, she's just the perfect host. We would be happy to return any time. ¡Gracias, Mérida!

Thank you Richard and Wei. Best, Lorraine

  • My husband, daughter and I stayed at Richard's place as a home base to explore the historic houses in Hyde Park. We were just minutes away, in a quiet area. The house was very clean, decorated with lovely art. Hosts Richard and Wei were nearby, and were available, but gave us full privacy. They even left us homemade vegan cupcakes!

This is a charming 2 bedroom 1 bath cottage in Staatsburg, NY, just outside of Rhinebeck. This house was built in the late 1800's and sits on Wappinger's Creek. This house makes a perfect weekend escape from the city - ideally located 90 minutes from NYC. It has all of the modern conveniences, such as wifi, cable t.v., and central heat. • This is a delightful, rustic cottage in a tranquil atmosphere. If you're looking for a place to let go of all of the stress of a city life-style, this is great. You will be hypnotized by the creek flowing lazily along, frequented by geese and ducks; lulled by the rippling of the stream flowing through the property; and brought back down to earth by the homey furnishings. In going to get some groceries, we made our way to Rhinebeck, which is an awesome town full of local pride, a must-see.

    Andrew2018-04-05T00:00:00Z
  • This is a quiet retreat, with wonderful outdoor space. We comfortably fit two couples, did a bit of cooking and used it as a home base for touring around the Hudson Valley. Great communication with the host, easy check-in and check-out process. Highly recommend.

  • Kim’s place was very nice for our short stay and quiet. I wish there were curtains to block off the light in the morning and a fan or AC. The couch was very comfortable and the patio is lovely!

    Angélique2018-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • Kim’s place was cozy and comfortable. We especially enjoyed being right on the creek - a great spot to begin and end the day.

    Tophe2018-05-05T00:00:00Z
  • Possibly the most beautifully styled home I’ve experienced up state, the most delightful place to unwind, cook, and enjoy a meal while feeling like your literally sitting over the creek. Would absolutely stay again! Beautiful!!

    Jessie2018-04-29T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage was adorable! It made for the perfect getaway for myself and my daughters. It was peaceful and clean and a perfectly comfortable space for the 4 of us. We took advantage of being a short drive to Rhinebeck where we enjoyed the balloon festival and lots of shops and restaurants. But I thoroughly enjoyed my morning coffee out on the deck.

    Jean Marie2018-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • MOMS WEEKEND AWAY!!! COUNTRY LIVING FAIR!!! My girlfriends and I arrived late at night in a complete downpour. After four hours of travel, I opened the bright yellow door and we immediately felt welcomed. The place was crisp, clean, and comfy. We couldn't see much of the outside but had a wonderful night enjoying the kitchen and slept well in our comfortable beds. When we awoke in the morning it was just absolutely exciting to see the perfectly situated coral orange Adirondack chairs surrounded by perennials overlooking the water. We enjoyed the back deck for morning coffee and headed into Rhinebeck for breakfast. In just a few short minutes we were in town. Bread Alone was fantastic and we quickly explored the town before heading to the Country Living Fair. Kim's quick responses to whatever questions we had reassured me that our time here would be relaxing and memorable. That is was!

The home is warm and welcoming, filled with beautiful artwork, lovely antique furniture and beautiful pieces of original artwork. The outdoor patio is comfortable & peaceful, surrounded by beautifully landscaped gardens. This is truly a place to have a peaceful getaway, yet it is just a short 10 min drive to great restaurants & shops. It is close by to Omega Institute and is a perfect alternative for anyone who needs accommodations and does not wish to stay on campus. Lindsey is a wonderful host. This space is a small cottage on our property located just a mile from the Village of Millbrook. The cottage is very private and removed from the main house. It features a queen-size bed, small bath with shower, and modest kitchenette with coffee/tea maker and refrigerator but no stove. The cottage is good for couples or solo adventurers. Small house-broken dogs are welcome.
The village of Millbrook and surrounding area is very bucolic with many horse and cow farms. In the summer months Innisfree Garden and Wethersfield Mansion and Gardens are well worth visiting. The Millbrook Winery is nearby and offers tastings and tours.
  • Cathy was a very communicative host and the property was absolutely beautiful. Everything we needed was easy to find in the cottage! We didn't even see Cathy until we were leaving so even though the cottage was located within proximity to her home it felt very private and secluded. Couldn't recommend this cottage more.

  • Mambaye is a warm and intelligent host. It was a pleasure to meet him.

    Joseph Michael2017-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Mambaye is a very warm, hospitable person who made me feel right at home as soon as I arrived. Prior to arriving he even asked if there was anything he could provide that would make my stay more enjoyable. He made sure I would get here safely and provided directions. Mambaye has a lovely and clean house, with new furniture and nicely decorated. It is very Zen, in a good way. If you are looking for a house with a lot of clutter or nick nacks this is not the place to stay. A well stocked kitchen that he is very generous in letting you use. He is knowledgeable about the area and helpful. The house is between Rhinebeck and Hyde Park, but close enough to Poughkeepsie. It is also very convenient to Omega retreat (about 5 miles). I found it easy to pop into Rhinebeck or Hyde Park for dinner. It is quiet and in the country. The house is light and has an open feel. Mambaye is a hard worker and has his own wing with separate bathroom and is seldom around so I felt as if I had the place to myself all the time. This is one of my favourite Air BnB's and I have stayed in many. Thanks. again Mambaye for the great time. Roy

  • Mambaye was very congenial and I was very comfortable in his nice house. I would stay there again.

  • Mambaye made me feel comfortable and I felt it was home away from home. The area was nice and quiet. I would definitely stay again if ever visiting Poughkeepsie in the future.

  • Loved the location 10-15 minutes to everything. Very cozy and quiet at night. Also really liked the 110 inch tv, great for watching movies.

  • Great house with everything needed to spend a cosy family time, from kitchen equipment to games or projector (great movie night!). Everything is clearly indicated, Garrett was truly responsive. One thing to note, some people might be bothered by the cars of road that is passing in front of the house (and some might not).

    Frederic2018-04-08T00:00:00Z
  • Garrett's place is bursting with charm! Lovingly decorated, stylishly designed, and thoughtfully arranged. You'll find it easy to check in and once inside all the comforts of home are at your fingertips, including a fully appointed kitchen. The setting is beautiful and there is a pretty backyard to explore. Unfortunately it was bit chilly when we visited, so we did not get to enjoy the outside patio. Hopefully next time!

    Kristin2018-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • We rented Garrett's place for a small company retreat for our 5-person theatre company. It was the perfect place for our group - the house is beautiful, spacious and clean. We spent much of the day sitting in the back patio table set with a beautiful view of the property. Garrett was great to coordinate with along the way. When we arrived, his brother gave us a detailed rundown of the house on how to use everything - including an amazing projector which were welcome to use. Would definitely stay again, and recommend highly for a place to stay in Millbrook!

    Natalie2018-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • The house was super clean and even nicer than it looks in the pictures. Everything was explained thoroughly and labeled. We are definitely coming back!

    Antonia2018-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Garrett's house is lovely and has a lot of care and charm in every detail. The house feels comfy immediately and was the perfect place for me to bring my parents, husband, and son - while we stayed for the weekend events over at The Wassaic Project in the neighboring hamlet. I only wish it had been less of a rainy weekend, so that we could have enjoyed the outdoor seating area! The large projection screen was perfect for watching a family movie - and the bathroom upstairs is very nicely done.

    Natalia2018-05-13T00:00:00Z
  • Garrett’s home is wonderful. The cozy living area was great - we enjoyed playing board games in the stylish dining room and watching TV on the huge projector screen. Everything was neat and tidy and the entire space was well appointed.

    Philip2018-04-15T00:00:00Z
  • A stylish, clean, and pleasant place to stay with nice touches throughout the house. We received clear instructions and had no difficulties finding and accessing the house. I wish we could stay longer! Highly recommend!

  • Scott was an exceptional host and the amenities at his home were excellent. Beautiful, small town. Easy to get to from manhattan. Would love to go back in the summer too as it was so nice in the winter!

    Kelsey2018-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Scott's place is clean, cozy and a lot of fun. We visited in February with our kids. They loved the big yard, the toys, and the hot tub. The house is clean, comfortable, and well appointed. Scott's tips for what to do in the local area are great. We loved Jeanie Beanie's for lunch on our way out of town. I'd definitely recommend staying here, particularly if you have kids! Thank you for having us!! :)

  • Scott and Shari have a lovely home, which they were so kind as to share with my family and I for a long-weekend stay. The house itself is well-appointed with all of the comforts of home, and the backyard boasts most every amenity you might dream up. Overall, a wonderful place to spend a weekend relaxing, soaking up the sun, enjoying dinner al fresco, staring at the stars at night - the list goes on. We were sad to leave once our stay was over. Scott was extremely easy to communicate with, kind, and helpful.

  • We had a wonderful week in this beautiful home in Clinton Corners. We enjoyed being outdoors in the backyard full of fun activities - the favorites were the hot tub, s’mores on the fire pit, archery and ball games. What a beautiful time of year to come upstate with the colorful leaves surrounding your property. The roomy indoor kitchen was perfect to cook our meals and the living room and bedroom decor were very decorative. We also enjoyed the steam shower. We loved the area and appreciate your suggestions. We will be back to test the pool out in the summer.

  • Great time all around.

    Nathanael2017-05-14T00:00:00Z
  • Sonia was there to greet us and was kind enough to show us around the entire house. Her home was very welcoming and a great experience for our group. When we arrived you could tell the home was maintained very well. The home was extremely spacious and had a wonderful view in the backyard. Sonia's property had some farm animals which added to the ambiance of the property. Sonia was kind enough to leave chocolates on the beds for us to enjoy. I travel a lot for business and can say this has been one of my best staying arrangements. I would highly recommend this location, 5/5 would stay again.

    Jose2016-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • Sonia's house was the perfect place for my group to stay for a long weekend in Hyde Park. There is plenty of room to accommodate larger parties and Sonia was sweet enough to leave out towels and chocolates on our beds. We really enjoyed her collection of books and board games. Although set back in a private location, the house is easily accessible from the main parts of town. The chickens were an added entertainment bonus. 10/10 would stay again!

    Sarah2017-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Not a good experience. Had to call owner several times to deal with problems. Including: Electronic Door Lock wasn't working. Had to leave the house unlocked with our things inside. I'm also glad we discovered the lock issue when we did, it would have been an unpleasant surprise at 11:00 at night. No water in the house when we got back at night - It was late and My guests wanted to shower and go to bed. They had to wait over an hour for water issue to be resolved - It made for a late night. There were a lot of Gnats / flies in the house - not sure if related to old fruit on table, dirty garbage / recycling bins, or the disgusting green fish tank. The residents living in the portion of the house that was not rented Had kids screaming at 6AM waking up my guests. The house wasn't very clean, there was food on the kitchen chairs, hair in the shower, and a lot of dust, in addition to a bit of a moldy Smell. Needless to say - I was disappointed. I did not enjoy dealing with the problems or hearing the complaints from my guests. The owner Sonia was responsive until I complained about all the issues. Haven't received a response since.

    Joe2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Sonia is a great host. Gave us a tour around the house and had everything clean and set up nicely for the stay. The property is beautiful and a perfect getaway. Overall, great experience.

  • Craig's home was the perfect setting for us, three teenage boys and a short visit from ulster county friends. The venue allowed for all of us to have a fulfilling getaway as there was so much for the boys to do, while we relaxed into more mellow activity. We love dinner time gatherings, so the kitchen was perfect for cooking, and the deck great for leisurely meals. There was ample space both inside and out, to hang out together and play games or watch tv, as well as enough room for people to do their own thing away from the fray. The pool was fabulous, clean and comfortable, the weight room, "man cave" and piano all got good use, and we never even made it to the walking trails. Craig was a welcoming and generous host who was helpful and easy to communicate with. Our kids have their sights set on coming back again for a future stay.

    Maria2017-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Craig's home was a great place for Labor Day weekend. He was a very welcoming host and even left us a plate of brownies! The heated pool, speaker system throughout the house, and outdoor deck space are fantastic and perfect for a summer retreat away from the city.

    Jaclyn2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Craig was a great host, from the moment we got there we felt very welcomed. He responded swiftly and was very attentive to any issues we had. The pictures dont do this place justice, you really have to be there to experience the amazing serenity and calmness. All the ammenities are a plus.

    Nazar2018-07-11T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed for a month with 3 adults and 2 kids, and spent hours enjoying this amazing property! My kids loved the pond and everyone enjoyed the gorgeous heated pool. Sound system outside is awesome, and there’s tons of space for outdoor sports. My father used the weight lifting equipment and treadmill all the time. We watched geese grow up and tadpoles turn to frogs! A/C works well and beds are as described, and property is beautifully maintained.

    Margaux2018-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had a good week at Craig's place. Having the pool during the hottest week of the year was a Godsend! It was nice to have a place to go and rest after days of running and visiting family. There was plenty of room for us, and lots of TV's!! The boys loved the man cave. The kitchen had any necessities for cooking, and the kids enjoyed the piano while we cooked. We had some concerns with the water smelling like sulfur, however, we contacted Ashley and she responded immediately and brought us drinking water to accommodate. She gave some suggestions of things to try, but ultimately there were some temporary issues with the well and we were only there for a week. I'm sure they will get it sorted out. I appreciated Ashley's quick responses to any and all questions.

    Deena2018-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • This house is more than exceptional! There is ample space to relax throughout the house, and everything was tremendously clean and amazing! The kitchen has every single piece of equipment that you may need during your stay. The surrounding property is exceptional, I definitely recommend taking advantage of the sprawling estate and going for a hike or exploring. It felt just like being in your own home while visiting here. Highly recommended for anyone and everyone!

    Zach2018-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • This place is amazing ! The pictures do not do it justice. There’s a heated pool, fire pit, gym and 20 acers of land. The beds were all super comfortable. There’s TVs all over the house and the Man Cave is awesome . This was the perfect place to go unwind and get away from it all. Thanks Ashley for all your help !

  • We really enjoyed staying at Brian and Marie's. They were very accommodating and willing to let guests have their own scene, as if there was no one else around (for those that like that)! That said, you're missing out by not chatting, particularly if you're not familiar with Dutchess County, with as knowledgeable as they both are. The super-quiet nights and awesome air were the perfect elixir for a couple of rattled city people!

  • This rental is a great option for someone looking to spend time outdoors and do hunting or fishing. The accommodations are great for a group of guys. Some precautions I would offer: Bring your own towel and other toiletries. It is not a place to take a date. (Most women would be turned off by the accommodations. It was not dirty, but it is a house that gets little use and all of the interior furnishings are old and outdated. Nothing to be disgusted by. But certainly would not be an impressive place to take a date either. ) The host Brian came up and said hello when we arrived and gave us some fresh laid eggs. Aside from that we were left alone, although the offer was made to let them know if we needed anything and they were in the main house on the same property. Overall the experience was fine. Just leaving honest feedback so your expectations are met.

    Dean2017-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • We arrived to Brian and Maria's place on one of the first really cold nights of the fall, and they already had the wood stove going to get the cabin nice and cozy for us :) They took great care of us and even brought us some fresh eggs from their chickens. The location is a perfect base for exploring the area - we enjoyed a delicious dinner in Rhinebeck and exploring the wineries and farms in the surrounding towns. We'd be happy to stay again!

    Diane2017-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • Quaint little place ideal for a nice getaway. Brian and Maria are very attentive and helpful, and you get fresh eggs when you arrive. If you're looking to get away and take a few days to disconnect but don't want to completely unplug this is the place for you!

Fiddlers Farmhouse is an 1857 farmhouse in a sweet hamlet in upper Dutchess County, that was fully renovated in 2016. With a gourmet kitchen, the original floors, tons of light, and lots of space to spread out, it's a comfortable place to truly get away from it all. Located in the town of Clinton, we are only an hour an a half from NYC and minutes from Rhinebeck, Red Hook, Omega, Bard College, the FDR and Vanderbilt Mansions, Poets Walk, the Culinary Institute, the majestic Hudson River & more!
Fiddlers Farmhouse is an open, warm space and a very livable home. The architectural bones are old and solid. The interiors are modern and uncluttered, accented throughout with tons of country light. Each of the four downstairs rooms have a different living vibe. The large, gourmet kitchen has an island to gather around. It opens onto a dining room with a long, reclaimed walnut table that seats ten. The back, cozy family room is perfect for reading or a movie night. The front formal living room (as formal as anything is in the country) is another great spot to read or hang. The house sits on four acres, two of sprawling lawn and two wooded, bordered by the original stone walls. The kitchen is fully stocked with dinnerware, glassware, and flatware for a crowd, as well as everything you'll need for cooking and baking - pots and pans, knives, cutting boards, mixing bowls, bakeware, and serving dishes. There is purified drinking water at the sink in the kitchen. There is an electric tea kettle and a selection of teas, as well as a four-cup french press. We have a Weber charcoal grill outside the back door. We have WiFi, basic cable, and a Verizon signal booster (service available on Verizon or over WiFi), as well as a DVD player. We have Kiehl's bath products in each shower.
The Fiddlers Farmhouse is in the hamlet of Pleasant Plains, one of seven that makes up the small town of Clinton (named for the 6th Governor of NY). (Even though the postal address is Staatsburg, the township is actually Clinton.)

Nestled in a creek side hollow, this cozy home offers a welcoming space to relax in. The nicely appointed bedroom has a private half bath and lovely deck. There is a full bath that is shared with one other guest room. You are welcome to use the common areas of the house including a kitchen, living room and great room that overlooks Little Wappinger Creek. The Village of Rhinebeck is just 15 minutes away.
The setting of this home is conducive for relaxing and enjoying nature as you do not see another house from the property.
Although my home is on a County road, it is a low key countrified setting with lots of trees and farm houses. The area is very beautiful and accessible to many wonderful points of interest. It is just 5 minutes from the Taconic Parkway, 15 minutes to the Village of Rhinebeck and 5 minutes to the Omega Institute.
  • Deborah's house is lovely, relaxing and very comfortable. The sounds of the running water in the creek are still singing inside of me. Deborah was fabulous and so quick in responding to questions I asked, which I really appreciated. She was flexible about our early arrival. We were at Omega for the holiday weekend and the house was close by, and a great place to stay. I definitely recommend it.

  • Great location if you are attending an event at Omega. Close to a good barbeque restaurant. Interesting host who tries to accommodate needs of clients. Liked having private half bath attached to the bedroom that we rented. Offered access to kitchen facilities and fridge filled with drinks and snacks. A good option for anyone who wants a quiet stay in a beautiful location with a small lake in the backyard.

  • Deborah was very kind and welcoming. The room was as expected and so close to omega. Really a perfect place to stay if you can’t stay on campus or just want to get away for a few nights. There were breakfast treats made for the morning and her place was very clean. Super easy to find. We had a great weekend!

  • Deborah was a wonderful host and her place was very, very nice. If you are attending anything at Omega, it works well. If you do other visiting of the Hudson Valley, it would be great as well. She did everything to make my visit comfortable. Bed was nice, airconditioning and fan worked well, water pressure was good and internet all work perfect. I'd highly recommend Deborah!

  • We had a delightful stay at this home, a perfect size for six adults. The kitchen was well equipped and perfect for sharing cooking duties. We especially enjoyed the family room with the wood-burning stove--it was so cozy and perfect for playing board games in the evening. There were even some Christmas lights and a wreath on the door for the holidays. Justin was great at communicating through texts, and checking on us to make sure we didn't have any questions. The home guide provided answered most of our questions without having to contact him. The home is in a rather rural setting, but has many small towns in close proximity make eating out, running for supplies, and finding hiking areas relatively easy. The house provided a wonderful Christmas holiday for our family.

  • Justin was a wonderful host. Our family really enjoyed our stay in this cool restored farm house. We had 3 babies with us and we found it to be very kid friendly. They even left us a port a crib so we had one less to travel with. Great location with a babbling brook in our back yard...

    Phyllis2016-06-06T00:00:00Z
  • When we arrived, everyone agreed that pictures on the listing did not do justice to the farmhouse. When we arrived, we found a beautiful home with everything that we wanted for a weekend getaway from the city. The dogs loved the massive backyard, and the living room fireplace kept us warm and cozy throughout our stay. The house is equipped with a Nest system to regulate the temperature, and Justin very helpfully preheated the house before we arrived. The (Hidden by Airbnb) Doc provided with the listing was very helpful in answering any questions we had while we were there (like how to use the high tech stove) and the house was well supplied when we arrived. We really hope we get the chance to come back another time!

  • Justin was very prompt in responding to queries throughout the stay. In general, it was a lovely weekend.

  • We had a great weekend at Justin's Farmhouse, the description fits the place perfectly. We had traveled to Millbrook, NY to shoot at Orvis Sandanona, and Justin's place was perfectly located. It has ample room for three couples, it's dog friendly, and is a wonderful space to unwind, cook, drink, and relax. Very happy with our experience.

  • Fun, quirky old house with a fantastic book collection. Great location in Duchess County and easy to find, just a few minutes off the highway. We loved hearing the rushing water outside the window at night. Some of the dishes in the kitchen hadn't been used in a while and required a quick wipe down before use but the house was comfortable and stocked with all the basics. Justin was very communicative and checked in with us during our stay to make sure we had everything we needed.

    Juliet2014-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stayed at this lovely historic home. The kitchen is a joy to cook in and the home was perfect for our group of four (and two dogs). Justin was very responsive and a great host. We will stay again if we make it back to Duchess County.

    Candice2014-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Justin and Lauren were wonderful hosts. We found the house in extremely clean and welcoming condition. The house was beautiful and equipped with everything one may need for a quiet, relaxing weekend in the country. Justin and Lauren left detailed instructions about the house, complete with tips on where to eat, go grocery shopping, etc. Overall, only great things to share about our stay at Stilton Cottage!

Nestled in a creek side hollow, this cozy home offers a welcoming space to relax and refresh in. The house has a charm all its own, featuring nicely furnished rooms with the accent on comfortable. Combine that with the creek side setting without another visible house from the property and it truly feels like a "nature's getaway".
Set on an acre of private property, the creek provides a beautiful place to take in nature. There are plenty of rooms in the house to give everyone their own space.

  • Fantastic. Perfect location for our retreat at Omega. The beauty and comfort of her home really made our vacation. Wonderful common spaces with great views of the forest and a nearby stream that you can hear from the living room and deck. I took a long nap on the deck lulled to sleep by the stream and wind through the trees. Deborah was wonderful and had the house stocked with breakfast food and even some tasty ice cream in the fridge. She welcomed us briefly upon arrival, showing us the essentials, and was always available by text or phone but absolutely unobtrusive. The home felt very cozy, fitted with wood and high ceilings and plenty of couches and chairs. Two bathrooms were convenient and very clean. The kitchen was spacious, easy to use with all the things I could possibly use and more. Plenty of easily accessible parking. I cannot say enough about how I appreciated this property and Deborah's conscientious preparation. Highly recommended, you will undoubtedly be pleased as I was, especially if you want a luxurious place to stay when visiting Omega Institute.

  • A friendly and helpful host on a working farm. A haven for horses and dogs and those who love them. Judy made us feel welcome and even came to watch me ride at Fitch's, which was really sweet! It is a farm though, so if animals aren't your thing, it may not be the place for you. But if they are (as they should be!) it's a great place to stay to enjoy the area!

  • This house is even more beautiful than shown in the pictures and Sarah is the most wonderful and helpful host! The house feels brand new, with all new amenities, very cosy beds, a very well outfitted kitchen and it is simply beautiful with such attention to detail. The pool and deck are ideal and the views/ sunset were a real highlight. Sarah is super speedy when responding to messages, was helpful in making plans and making sure everything was just right. I came with a group of nine girls and we had the best time, and hope to return soon!

  • Andrew’s home is fantastic. It’s very recently renovated with all modern amenities, yet has a wonderfully warm feel. The heated pool is such a treat - and the sunset views from the patio add to the splendor. The house is perfect for families or a group of couples as the open layout allows for great cooking and communal hangouts. We would love to come back! Thanks for having us!
