San Angel Holiday Rentals

Just booked in San Angel

This is an historic house made in 1933 by the Architect Juan O 'Gorman, the first funcionalist and modern house in Mexico City, it is a pleasure to stay here and well connected to the rest of the city. Metro, metrobus near, and walking distance to the old San Angel.
Historical house in the heart of colonial neighborhood San Angel. It's very well located, close to the traditional neighborhood of Coyoacan, the University of Mexico and the Saturday Bazaar, and a block away from the House-Studio of Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo, by the same architect. Close to the lines 3 and 7 of the subway, and 5 minutes away from the Metrobus. Located in a beautiful, safe and silent neighborhood of Mexico City. The house has two well-furnished bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, a full kitchen and a living room with a splendid view to gorgeous garden. There is Wi-fi available, a car can safely park on the streets outside, and towels and bed sheets will be provided. We can also provide delicious continental breakfast if you'd like us to. This used to be the house and studio of the renowned architect and muralist Juan O'Gorman, known for his functionalist and organic buildings. The house was built on 1939 and is a truly unique building, built at the same time and in the same style as Frida Kahlo's own house in the Coyoacán neighborhood. O'Gorman is also the designer of the iconic 9-storey-tall stone mosaic in the University of Mexico Central Library, a UNESCO World Heritage Site site. Its unique Mexican functionalist architecture matches the great decoration. This place is truly an oasis in the city, and we guarantee you won't regret a single second spent here :) * If you rent the whole place, you would have the house to yourself, while we would move to an independent bedroom on the other side of the garden. The kitchen would be shared for mealtimes only.
San Angel is a quiet zone, an oasis in this busy , contaminated but so interesting and charming city, has very nice restaurants, markets beautiful old streets
  • Amazing architectural gem in gorgeous location!

  • Wow. We feel truly grateful to have been welcomed into Paulina's very special home. She was the most gracious host. The house itself is unique in every sense and I would say that it is even more beautiful in person than in the photos. The yard was perfect for a small, mellow gathering of friends which Paulina helped us acquire a fantastic chef for. Everything just felt really peaceful and nice. A perfect place for a small family or small group of close friends. Not a home for events or parties as you feel it's quite delicate and sacred being that it's quietly an important part of Mexico City's history. For those who who have a respect for the arts and history. Plenty of shopping, markets and restaurants. All of which Paulina was happy to lend guidance towards. Thank you Paulina! Xx

  • Were it only the house alone I would already give it 5 stars as Juan O'Gorman is such a remarkable architect. Our host Paulina however must be the spiritual heir to this paradise as she has not only maintained O'Gorman's legacy, she has enhanced it with her own impeccable taste. On a purely human level Paulina is also a national treasure, caring so much for the happiness of her guests and sharing her remarkable life with us over breakfast. What a memorable visit to Mexico City thanks to her exceptional hospitality.

  • We found Paulina Parlange to be a cheerful, experienced and helpful hostess and guide to the wonders of Mexico City. She had much knowledge and experience with her city and shared it generously. We specially enjoyed our evenings visiting in her sala and learning about the history of her home and its renowned architect and occupant, Juan O'Gorman as well as her work finding and bringing textiles produced by indigenous women from diverse areas of Mexico to market in Mexico City.

  • Arriving at the Juan O Gorman house is like finding an oasis, the place has so much character and soul and is in the most enchanting neighborhood it's a genuine treasure. We were graciously received by Betty, the housekeeper and Paulina was available by phone for all our questions. Great experience.

  • My experience with Paulina this past week was remarkable!! She is the true definition of hospitality and I feel honored and lucky to have found her and her gorgeous casa! Paulina is a sweet, open and loving person and I couldn't have asked for a better experience for my Mexico trip. She helped me with a special event I was planning and she was amazing to work with. She truly enjoys the art of hosting and takes pride in all she does, from preparing food to ensuring her house is inviting, clean and always feels like home. Not to mention that her house, created by the famous Mexican architect, Juan O'Gorman, is stunning and beautifully situated in the San Angel neighborhood. This is one unique experience you won't ever regret!! Muchas gracias por todo Paulina! No sabes lo encantado que quedamos con todo y lo mejor fue a verte conocido! Un abrazo y hasta la próxima!

  • Paulina and her gorgeous home are quite literally the most lovely host/home rental combination a person could dream of. There wasn't one detail that didn't exceed our expectations. The neighborhood is safe and comfortable and well situated to explore lovely Coyacan and San Angel, right next to the Diego Rivera/Frida Kahlo studio and a short walk to the famous Saturday Market and Flower markets. Both she and her home will enchant you. My family and I had a wonderful time staying there and cannot wait to return!

  • Like staying in a museum with visual treasures everywhere you look. We didn't want to leave. I can't imagine a better upscale place to stay in Mexico City. The surrounding neighborhood of San Angel Inn makes you think you're back a century or two with its peaceful cobbled streets. It is off the beaten tourist path, but easy to get a neighborhood taxi. You need to speak Spanish to tell cabs how to get you back from downtown. And be aware there are no stores nearby to walk to get groceries. Staying at the Juan O'Gorman was the highlight of our trip to Mexico City.

  • I stayed here comfortably for six weeks. The rooftop deck is the best feature - really lovely. Excellent location in San Angel - I loved staying in this neighborhood. And breakfast every day was delicious - high quality and tasty, with great service from Maru and Margarita (these ladies are awesome and really made me feel at home - they definitely took care of me!). The bed was comfortable and the water pressure in the shower was good - important factors for a long term stay. The wifi was spotty, but I will say that when I needed to get on the internet, I could always go upstairs near the router and was always able to get online.

  • I had a fantastic visit to Grandma's Room San Angel. It is in a wonderful location, very quiet and clean. It feels like a different world then the rest of Mexico City. Martha is an amazing host. Upon arrival she greeted us with glasses of hibuscus tea which was unexpected and delightful. She also served a complementary breakfast each morning, which was delicious (trust me I am a Chef). The room was beautifully decorated and if you have an appreciation of Mexican folk art then you will love staying here. I wish I could have stayed longer.

  • We had a wonderful stay here! Loved the place, the decor, surroundings, the helpful staff, the food... We would recommend it any time to any person looking for at great place to stay in Mexico city. Grandma's room is perfect for families. Only the internet was a bit unstable, but it helped when I was informed that there are two connections that you can use.

  • My friends and I felt very welcome at the Art Residence in San Angel. Beautiful space, great quiet artsy neighborhood, and fantastic breakfast. I had stayed here once before on a work trip, and was excited to share the place with my friends.

  • My experience in San Angel was heavenly! This quaint district of México City is more than I could have imagined. It was a beautiful welcome to my first time in the city and Martha and everyone who worked to make my stay comfortable were so very accommodating. Martha especially went above and beyond with her hospitality. From our initial connection and conversations via email to my arrival, throughout my stay and departure, she was so very generous. I originally had planned to stay in the studio portion of the house, but there was a mix up in reservations. Martha was quick to accommodate and make sure I was comfortable. It was very much appreciated and again, a big part of me falling in love with such a beautiful city. I was greeted by her wonderful staff. The little touches made all the difference. The decor was perfect and made me feel as though I was experiencing an authentic experience. Their collection of art and library of books ranging from history to art, all things Mexican and travel around the world, was more than impressive and made for some wonderful down time in the apartment. The entire house was very clean and kept that way daily, which was a very nice service. I had 24 access to everything I needed. The wireless connection was a bit spotty throughout, but Martha worked to rectify quickly and nothing that was too much of a hindrance. The entire staff was so friendly and helpful. Breakfast was always delightful and I most appreciated the access to drinking water and coffee and tea. It certainly felt like my home away from home. The bed was extremely comfortable. The shower, warm and great water pressure. Excellent toiletries. Again, the attention to detail was phenomenal. It was nice to feel so welcomed. San Ángel itself is a quiet neighborhood with close proximity to all needs. It reminds me of my home in Charleston, SC, with the cobblestone streets and quintessential colonial architecture. The colors are marvelous. I was traveling alone and felt very safe, using standard safety precautions. I did have a tough time getting a taxi from the house at times via various Apps, but it was pretty easy to call one and there were there quickly. Martha and Pancho have a beautiful residence that is nothing short of spectacular. Though I didn't have the pleasure of meeting Pancho, Martha made me feel as though I have a friend for life and a home in México City. There was also a wonderful guide printed with lots of great suggestions! I am most grateful for such a wonderful experience! Thank you, Martha, Pancho and all of the wonderful family in San Ángel! Hogar dulce hogar! Home sweet home! Leah Charleston, SC

San Angel is a quiet and charming town inside Mexico City. Pebble-stoned narrow streets, colonial houses, parks, plazas, colonial churches, museums and many other destinations make it a must stop in your visit to Mexico City. San Angel is a quiet and charming town inside Mexico City. Pebble-stoned narrow streets, colonial houses, parks, plazas, colonial churches, museums and many other destinations make it a must stop in your visit to Mexico City. Mexico City’s Secretary of Tourism recently named the San Angel neighborhood a Barrio Magico (Magic Neighborhood). San Angel, located 12km (7.4 miles) southwest of the historic center, was once a retreat for wealthy city residents. Cobblestone streets, plazas, gardens and elegant estates are reminiscent of the neighborhood’s rich colonial past. San Angel is home to monuments, historic residences, a former Dominican monastery, a cultural center housed in what was once a municipal palace and several interesting museums. Among them are the Risco House Museum (Plaza San Jacinto 15) with its impressive 18th century talavera tile fountain, the Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo Studio Museum (Diego Rivera 2 and Altavista 4) and the Anahuacalli Museum (Calle del Museo 150) that houses yet another of Mexican muralist Diego Rivera’s studios. You’ll find several colorful markets, art galleries and shops scattered throughout the neighborhood and a good selection of restaurants, bars and cafes, many with inviting open-air terraces. San Angel’s Bazar Sabado (Saturday market), held in a two-story building located just off the main Plaza San Jacintos, makes an ideal place to browse an array of quality handicrafts from across Mexico. Throughout the year the San Angel neighborhood hosts several festivals and cultural celebrations including the San Angel Flower Festival and the Fiesta de la Virgen del Carmen. San Angel is also the site of some of Mexico City’s most impressive alters during the annual Day of the Dead holiday. The nearby residential neighborhood of Chimalistac has yet to become a top tourist destination, but what it lacks in the way of visitor attractions, it makes up for in Mexican traditions and colonial-era charm. With an atmosphere that’s more reminiscent of a small Mexican town than a big city neighborhood, Chimalistac feels worlds away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Mexico City.

The house where you'll stay is in the best south area of Mexico city. Its is considered cultural heritage. There are no buildings just houses with Mexican architecture with great flavor. The house is in a very secure private street with no noise and no passing transit of cars. I live with 2 small loving Whippet dogs that will not bother you at all. When you arrive you will have a guide of the area and directions for transport methods to get around.
The house has a Mediterranean style of construction. Your room has a working desk for working or use your computer with high speed WiFi and/or Ethernet cable. You will also enjoy a big 'Smart TV' with Netflix available in your room! Freshly Espresso coffee is always available and you can freely use the kitchen appliances such as refrigerator, stove, microwave oven, etc. Available common areas are yours to enjoy, like the living & dinning room. If you need, there is even a parking space available for free.
The area is very quiet, picturesque and charming. You will be at walking distance from the popular Bazar of art called Bazar del Sabado (on Saturday´s), San Angel Inn Restaurant (gourmet) and the Museum "Casa Estudio Diego Rivera y Frida Kahlo". Close by you can visit: -Art galleries, museums, medieval Spanish churches from the XVII and XVIII CE. The also beautiful Coyoacan area is at a few kilometers away from here and is part of the charm that the historic south area of Mexico City has.

  • A great place to walk around san angel.

  • The apartment, which is carved out of the wing of a soulful 19th century farmhouse, is comfortable (including the futon) and quite beautiful, with many historic details still in tact. The soaring ceilings provide the studio with a feeling of spaciousness. The apartment is very quiet and bright and its windows look out on the wild, fecund courtyard, with abounding bougainvillea: a very peaceful view. Its location, on a cobblestone street in the middle of the charming San Angel historic district, is kind of perfect -- if peacefulness, charm and history are what you're looking for. I met the enthusiastic and kind Marisol when I arrived and she was in touch and available throughout the rental. A particularly delightful part of my stay was getting to know Marisol's father. He tells great stories.

  • Marisol is a great host, she was always present on our arrival and departure, she was very friendly and communicative with us. The apartment is very nice and has all the essentials needed plus it is located in a beautiful neighborhood, we loved it. We would like to thank Marisol for our stay and all her help.

Good location, close to Metrobus and Metro. quiet neighborhood great for walking, good range of restaurants, culture and history. The house has 3 bedrooms, 3½ bathrooms, desk-library, TV room, gym, terraces, beautiful garden, living room with fireplace, dining room, kitchen with dish soap, parking, Wi-Fi, washer and dryer. It is rent with person responsible for care and grooming living there. Rent can be with or without deyauno (to agree).
  • My family and I had an amazing ten days in this beautiful home. Rosa Maria and her sister were in constant communication with us before and during the trip, even taking time out of their busy days for a (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) call so we could discuss logistics and best sights to see in the neighborhood. The house was big and spacious and comfortably fit six people. The gardens are a quiet and peaceful oasis in the lively city. We were welcomed with food (delicious Oaxaca cheese!) Raquel, who comes each morning to help clean up, was the nicest, most cheerful person. She introduced us to amazing local fruits, advised us on the best local markets, and made us feel at home. A beautiful home and wonderful experience. My family and I hope to return to this house again soon.

  • The house is amazing, in a superb location and really comfortable. Rosa Maria is an excellent host and communication was top notch. Overall, a really nice experience.

  • The narrow cobblestone lanes of San Angel create a lovely buffer from the big city hustle, bustle and traffic. You even feel further removed by stretching out in a hammock in the shade of flowering trees outside in the high walled garden. While attending to a project for my business in Mexico City, my family occupied this lovely spot for several weeks. We used every space in the house including an office where I set up home base, dining room where we hosted friends and relatives for meals, and a private gymnasium with porch. The home is spacious, decorated with lovely art, secured by 24 hour watchmen whose whistle you can hear as they make their nightly rounds. Sra. Lulu is also a big, big plus. She not only keeps the premises spotless, but is available to help you take care of household chores for a reasonable additional cost. Cooking meals, washing and ironing clothes, going to the supermarket are ways she really made our stay additionally enjoyable. Being in San Angel is also a plus since it is crisscrossed by major avenues with Uber the press of a button away. Restaurants, shopping and museums in San Angel are also very convenient. Thanks so much Rosa Maria and thank you Sra. Lulu. We hope to return someday!

  • Beautiful, impeccably kept home in a lovely historic neighbourhood. We felt very welcome and taken care of, with Rosa Maria and her team looking after all the details. Contrary to most other AirBnB listings in Mexico City this home features elegant, vibrant, tasteful Art from all periods, including modern. Internet, TV, phone, garage doors, water, everything works. Shout-out to Señora Raquel, the housekeeper, who keeps the place spotless, is quiet and can cook delicious meals for a small fee. I didn't want to write a glowing review so that I can easily rebook this place in the future, but I can't be so selfish: this home is perfect, book it with confidence! (We stayed for several weeks in February, family with 3 kids).

    Rafael2016-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • The house is gorgeous. Spacious, airy, with a beautiful garden and in one of the best neighborhoods in Mexico city. One breath away from an amazing little colonial square and two blocks from the best open air art market in the city, as well as Frida and Diego's studio. Also close to Coyoacan and half an hour away from the center (taxi/car). The house was clean, organized and provided every comfort. We would definitely stay here again. Rosa Maria was a great host, very responsive to our needs. Everything went as planned.

    Philo2013-07-11T00:00:00Z
  • First of all, the house is beautiful! Even more beautiful than the pictures. My family and I were so sad that to leave, we will be staying longer next time we come to visit Mexico. The house is perfect for a family, plenty of space with a beautiful backyard. The housekeeper Raquel went above and beyond to exceed our needs, she was so sweet along with Lulu. The house is perfectly located, the location is close to restaurants and on Sundays they do a little art walk very cute! We will be staying here again for sure! Thanks Rosa Maria for welcoming us to your house and for taking the time to meet us on our last day. Karen

    Karen2016-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic stay in Mexico City. Rosa Maria's house was probably the loveliest house we have stayed in, and we hope to return. We were a large group -- six of us - but there was plenty of room. The house was beautiful, truly luxurious, with every amenity. We were greeted with basic food (milk, bread, salad, fruit etc), which we greatly appreciated. The garden was gorgeous, and even had lizards and humming birds. I miss the peaceful mornings drinking coffee in that exquisite garden. Raquel (the housekeeper) came every day to clean the rooms and bathrooms and see to our every need. Rosa Maria and her sister checked on us regularly, and even helped arrange transportation for a day trip. San Angel is such a picturesque area with many great restaurants, a vibrant plaza nearby, and the Saturday arts and crafts market was spectacular. Coyoacan is not too far away. The metro is about a 20 minute walk from the house. The city center is about 45 minutes away by taxi or metro.

  • Marie-Louise and Hector are a warm, and friendly couple. Excellent communication made a very late check-in easy. Hector waited outside their walled property to ensure that I would find it at night. The accommodations in a very charming home are very clean and the bed was comfortable.

Comfortable room with king size bed for 1 or 2 people in student residence in San Angel, with private bath, terrace with hammock, closet, desk and all services. (Kitchen, common terrace, TV), including cleaning and security.
We are a student residence and hostel in the beautiful neighborhood of San Angel, south of Mexico City. (Near the UNAM and ITAM) San Angel neighborhood and its surroundings are famous for its history, monuments, architecture, museums, plazas, restaurants, markets, art galleries, streets and traditional festivals.
We are located in one of the most beautiful, safe and old districts of the city: San Angelo. Experience the real Mexican lifestyle, eat their delicious markets and explore and fall in love alleys of this beautiful neighborhood with bicycles that we have available.
  • The room and area were both very nice and matched the pictures. This is a part-time student dormitory with a common kitchen and common social areas. The room we had included a private bathroom, as stated in the listing. It was very comfortable. The decorations are very modern. We were met by Don David, the nighttime security, who is very knowledgeable and kind. The neighborhood is safe, but it is a bit far from the metro or metrobus. I would recommend this for persons who are fluent in Spanish or who are experienced in travel in Mexico. We were able to take Uber in this neighborhood with no problem.

    David2017-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • This was a comfortable room in a friendly, quiet student residence. Wifi signal was solid. It was a great place to stay on a Friday night, to be able to walk to Coyoacan's famous Saturday markets in the morning. One drawback was that it's pretty far from public transportation and our Spanish is lacking, and when we tried to get a cab we got a bit of the run-around. Also, we didn't have a good map and it took some doing to find the building. Once we did, everything gelled.

This studio is prefect for travelers. The decore theme is archeology. Fully equipped kitchenette.Breakfast is served from 7.30-9.30.Excellent coffee and tea 24/7. Includes internet in the common areas. This place has a roof deck. Under reservation you can host a BBQ party for up to 6. The location is amazing, in the heart of San Angel where Saturdays are magic. Bazaar del Sábado is a tradition for shopping handcrafts and have a local ingredient lunch.
Check out our other listings for more apartments. The property is divided in 2 main buildings. One is a colonial XIX architecture hosting 4 full apartments, and 1 hidden contemporary deco house (where we live). In this Studio for artists in residence you have the right to access to a 30m2 private workspace with extra charge.
San Angel is one of the eldest (built in the sixteenth century) and most beautiful neighborhoods (at a time it was a little country town). It has everything: Museums, libraries, colonial architecture, galleries, artists' studios, cafés, access to main avenues and all kinds of food to meet any taste and budget. Our street is narrow, with street "chandeliers". Enjoy having all the commodities and a perfect weather (almost all year round).
  • My best experience on airbnb so far, great location, the place was spotless, beautifully decorated and they had a very useful brochure they designed themselves with all the information needed to have an amazing stay in Mexico City 10/10 would recommend and definitely look forward to visiting again!!

  • This property is a great find. The house is in one of the best areas of Mexico City. You can walk to many stores and restaurants, including the famous San Angel Inn (one of the most traditional restaurants in the city in what used to be a beautiful Hacienda). Martha's house is really beautiful and it has exactly what you need for a wonderful stay. The room is beautiful and has a lot of light. Martha is a wonderful host and she is so patient and generous. She is really careful to make sure everything is perfect for her guests. I hope I can stay here again soon.

    Guillermo2014-04-06T00:00:00Z
  • This place is amazing! The breakfast, the studio apartment, the staff and the roof top terrace were all fantastic! I met at breakfast some amazing people from Houston and Mexico. Beautiful place so close to Diego Rivera's studio, San Angel Inn and the wonderful art and craft market place. Grocery store is nearby to buy a great bottle of Santo Tomas wine and then sit on the rooftop terrace and enjoy the views! Everyone was so warm and friendly, make sure you leave a tip for the house staff.

    Shelley2017-04-03T00:00:00Z
  • I immediately felt at home. Maru is the heart of Art Residence with her delicious breakfasts and her concern for comfort. The place, a stately home turned B&B, is thoughtfully put together. Mexican down to the Oaxaca design on the tile floors. And great lovers of the arts - there's lots of it on the walls, on textiles, as furniture, and even as guests: one of my B&B mates was Charleston S.C. jazz singer Leah Suárez, encouraged by Art Residence owners Martha and Pancho. Studio 2, a little charmer, can be claustrophobic, but there's tons of common area - even a pretty terrace. And the city awaits. San Ángel comes alive on Saturdays, but is sweet every day. Art Residence is walking distance from several museums, many eateries, the mercado, beautiful parks and churches. A lovely experience all around.

  • Martha and her staff were fantastic, as always! It was my second time staying at Martha Y Pancho's. This time around, since it was a bit warmer, I was able to go up to the terrace, and it's AMAZING -- a whole new world filled with peace and inspiration. I have a feeling that I will be staying there a third time and that my stay will be just as pleasant and comfortable. Muchísimas gracias y nos vemos prontooooo!!!

  • A beautiful little room in a quiet and accessible part of DF, staying at Martha and Pancho's was a delight! I looked forward to Maru's breakfast everyday, and got to try it all because I stayed there ten days! Excellent customer service, lovely little neighborhood, and that intangible feeling that you're coming home even when in a foreign country means I recommend staying at Martha and Pancho's!

Comfortable apartment in a great location. Just in front of Metrobús station(which is excellent for going to Paseo de la Reforma, Roma, Condesa and other places up north). Five minute walk to UNAM and 15 minute walk to Coyoacán.
Cozy, geeky, artistic, chic (not entirely chic) apartment. Has one private room and a sofa in the living room, perfect for one, two or even three.
Chimalistac is a really important and old neighborhood, since the prehispanic era and really famous in XIX century. In 2012 the government named it patrimony of the city. Is really pretty, believe me! Come and see for yourself.

The cat is also very friendly and was fun to have around. The listing and photos are accurate. Attractions: Coyoacan. San Angel. UNAM. You'll love my place because of the outdoor areas, the light, the kitchen. My accommodation is good for couples, adventurers and business travelers.
The private room with private bathroom. Frigobar has to have a little more privacy. It has all the basic services, bedding, towels, Hanun, shampoo, etc.
Copilco neighborhood Bajo is within a few minutes walk from the UNAM, next Chimalistac neighborhood and near the neighborhood of San Angel.
  • The room was clean and comfortable, with plenty of hanging and storage space for clothes. Having its own bathroom, fridge and kettle was very convenient. The wifi in the house works well. Regina speaks very good English so communication was not a problem. She was always very friendly and tried to help with any questions I had. The house is in a safe area, close to a metrobus station and not far from a metro station either. There is a supermarket and convenience store within walking distance. In summary, I was happy with my stay and would be glad to stay again.

    Michael2017-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • Nice Private Guest House hosted by Regina, is near by the city and posh area, whereby public transportation, restaurant, foreign exchange, and banks are nearby, while the neighborhood is exceptionally gud.

    Rahul 2017-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay! I found the place even nicer than the pictures, with our own bathroom, a mini-fridge, and really lovely light pouring in through the windows. Regina was very caring, helping us out with a map and recommendations of places to see. The house was relatively quiet, though we could hear the neighbors get together over the weekend. The neighborhood is really cool -- in one direction just outside the door is what used to be a river but is now a little park and in the other direction is a very family-feeling area with little restaurants open only for la comida run out of people's homes. It was close to an autobus stop and to the metro line: so convenient! All in all, we found it pretty spectacular. I would definitely stay here again.

Great lighting and bi-weekly cleaning. I liked it so much I extended my stay. I would definitely stay here again. There are many delicious restaurants on this street. Cozy and private loft with a beautiful garden view, independent from the house. Great location in a very calm part of San Angel. Walking distance of the "Casa Estudio de Diego Rivera y Frida Kahlo" and "Bazar del Sabado". Well connected to the public transport, near metro station and metrobus.
It's a fully equipped loft with full bath, kitchenette, work area and queen size bed. It has a stove, microwave, blender, crockery and cooking utensils and a plasma television. It has a good natural lighting. It is located on the first floor and overlooks the garden.
  • Gabriela's place was perfect in every way - she was a super kind and communicative host, and the place was close to great coffees shops, street food, and near public transportation. The yard was a lovely place to get some work done during the day, and I felt safe and comfortable at all times. I extended my stay because I enjoyed it so much! Highly recommended - thanks Gabriela!

  • Gabriela's place is a very independent ground floor apartment attached to the main house with a lovely garden view. It is close to the San Angel shops and crafts market as well as the Frida Khalid/Diego de Rivera houses. It is decorated in an artistic, eclectic style. Great fun! Gabriela and her assistant could not have been more helpful.

Gracias Gaby!

  • Fantastic! Great hosts (went out of their way for us!) and the most beautiful location! It is close to public transport and an easy uber ride to town. The area of San Angel & Coayacan is wonderful. The neighborhood was gorgeous - I totally fell in love with the city. And again, the hosts are SUPER nice!!

The house itself is in a beautiful, traditional neighborhood, with gorgeous traditional architechture and cobblestone streets. It is a 5 10 minute walk in either direction from some of the finest restaurants in the city. The hosts themelves are great communicators in both English and Spanish, and are extremely welcoming. We ended up hanging out with them and drinking tea for a few hours- They are such great people!! the suites are modern in the setting of a gorgeous interior garden. The kitchen is fully stocked and easy to use. They have a delicious, on site restaurant as well, serving traditional mexican foods as well as more modern options. They also have a little store in case you need extra toiletries or supplies. we will definitely return!!

  • Having lived in Mexico City for over 22 years we knew exactly where we wanted to stay. San Angel is one of the nicest areas of Mexico City, with its cobbled streets and colonial architecture. There is much to do, with many fine restaurants, including the famous San Angel Inn, all within walking distance. Norell's house is of a typical colonial style located close to the San Jacinto church and plaza, on saturday there is the "bazaar de sabado", where local artists exhibit their work. The house is well maintained and has all the required services. Norell was an excellent host and there to welcome us when we arrived at nightime after our flight from the UK. We couldn't have asked for more and we would be delighted to return in any future trips to Mexico City.

Perfect for travelers! Fully equipped kitchenette, Queen size bed and decoration theme is about a botanic. Perfect for art and nature lovers. Breakfast is served from 7.30-9.30.Excellent coffee and tea 24/7.
  • Fabulous wonderful perfect Art Residence San Angel. This place exceeded my expectations in every way. The bed and the room were comfortable, gorgeously appointed, quiet, dark when they needed to be. When the internet went down for about 5 minutes, the hosts rushed to our aid (we were in the middle of a 4-way (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) conference call at the time) and fixed it. Breakfast was delicious and memorable. I felt cared for without being coddled or having someone looking over my shoulder. I was surprised and pleased to have my room cleaned every day. The art is thoughtful and impressive all over the place. The rooftop garden makes me want to come back in high summer. A really special place that I fear I will be priced out of and will be booked solid pretty soon. I am glad I got to stay here before it was TOO discovered.

  • Loved staying here! The place is charming, the caretakers Maru, Margarita y Paul, are very very nice and helpful, the breakfasts are homemade and delicious. This is a one of a kind authentic Mexico City experience. We will be back.

  • I had to book this studio last minute for a business associate, so I personally did not stay at the studio. However, Martha was very responsive on short notice and went above and beyond to accommodate our last minute needs. We were grateful for her patience upon our late arrival. I was also told the breakfast was excellent, so thank you Martha for everything!

    Melissa2015-11-15T00:00:00Z
  • I enjoyed a really nice stay with Martha & Pancho. The rooms were really nice, decorated with a lot of care. Great service and almost the best part: Amazing breakfasts!

    Florian2015-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • This place is absolutely fantastic! My first impression couldn't have been better. Since I was not familiar with the city I agreed with Martha to have her driver to pick me up at the airport - unfortunately I got stuck at immigration for 3 hours, without cellphone or internet access but to my surprise her driver was still waiting for me and received me with a smile on his face and in a very good mood! Arriving at her apartment I was given a bigger room just because it was available, this was extremely nice of Martha to do. The room itself is fantastic and is for sure, the nicest room I have ever stayed. Also, it is so cleaned that I, just for fun, was looking to find dust in the most hidden spots that everyones misses while cleaning but not there, everything was cleaned perfectly!! The bed is big (king size) and the sheets / blanked are first class hotel quality. The bathroom is big and the shower has a good pressure and nice hot water. Internet is fast and reliable which allowed me to work from my room without problems. The room is more like a self sustained studio since it also has 2 sofas, wardrobe, big TV with cable, a sink, microwave, eletric oven, refrigerator, a table and a chair. Well, just everything you can ask for. The breakfast is fantastic as well. Delicious fresh fruit, milk, coffee, tea, yogurt, granola, honey, nutella, and a nice lady prepares you a different plate almost everyday... I cant remember the names, but they are mexican-style breakfast and very, very tarty. Overall a very good experience and I am even considering going back to Mexico city not for the city itself but just to stay at this amazing place again! I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

    Eddie2015-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Very beautiful apartment, amazing comfortable bed, even a full delicious breakfast was provided. Unfortunately our spanish is not so good so did make things a little difficult. But all in all perfect for what we needed.

    Ash2016-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • If I could describe this place with one word it'd be: Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious! First let me start off by saying that even tho this place is labeled as an entire home it's actually a 3 bedroom home converted into a Mini 5 star Hotel tucked in a beautiful historic high-end neighborhood. Each room is converted into a suite with its own unique design with every amenity you could possibly need. Every single morning we would wake up to a nice warm delicious breakfast with a side of fresh fruit, coffee, juice or tea which is all included with your stay. Everyday when we would go out and hit the streets we would come back to a nice, clean, fresh room and with replaced towels. I could go on for days about how wonder the staff and Martha made my stay. There is no doubt in my mind that I have found the only place I will every stay in, in Mexico City. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE.

    juan2016-11-23T00:00:00Z
  • Originally "the plan" was to stay at Martha and Pancho's because I was taking a yoga 3-day training nearby... but then I got very sick with a fever and bronchitis. I couldn't even attend to the training. Martha made sure I was able to get the treatment and assistance that I needed in order to get back on my feet. Really lovely people. The studio was a very comfortable place to recover and, even though I didn't get out much, the neighborhood is very nice. I hope to return in February to attempt to attend the training again and to get to know beautiful San Angel. I highly recommend this place!
