Start the day with a home-cooked breakfast featuring homemade jams and breads, or kick back in the rich red library room. This mock Tudor family home features sash windows and welcoming shades of buttermilk and lemon for a bright, sunny space.
We completely renovated our home. Furniture is antique. All finishes and appliances are new.
Developed in the 1920s, Miraloma Park was one of the first neighborhoods to be developed west of Twin Peaks. It's a little more leafy and quiet than central San Francisco. Mount Davidson, the highest point in San Francisco, rises up behind us.
  • Great suite in a quiet residential location in SF.

  • Lovely place and hosts. Great location to get to the various site.

    Craig2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • The location is super easy to find and the hosts are super warm to get along with. Staying here is essentially the same as staying at my own home. You won’t wanna miss it when you’re in SF!

  • Outstanding host and convenient location. I can’t imagine having a better better experience. I would strongly recommend this listing to anyone. I am already looking forward to my next visit.

  • It's the best of all ... It's a bit far from downtown, but I think it was about $ 15 by lift. I have never seen such a kind host. There are dogs and cats in the house and they are so lovely. The host was very good at cooking, served breakfast, and sometimes had snacks. She is literally a cookie specialist. I baked cookies and it was the best cookie of my life. Thank you so much for 5 nights .. I can't sound a little, but I stayed so good.

  • If you are traveling in California and planning to call in San Francisco and think to stay in the very center of the city or a little further away, then be sure to stop by Heather and Pete. These are the friendliest, most welcoming and hospitable hosts I have ever seen. Be sure to book a room with breakfast. Heather cooks great. Pete helped with the race. And they have an awesome friendly dog. And given that parking is difficult in San Francisco, Heather and Pete can park their cars right at home. In general, just try.

    Vladimir2020-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you for your warm welcome during stay at your home my wife and daughter and my wife's young brother. I especially liked the seen you reading book to my daughter. (Maybe it was an animal book?) And, with Sam and Kittyman, I think it was a great place for my daughter. Thank you again for could starting the first trip to USA with a good feeling thanks to you guys. We will keep it as a good memory.

Originally built in the months following the great earthquake of 1906, the hotel saw a complete renovation in 2013-2014. During the project, we had one goal: create an atmosphere with you, our guest, in mind. Where you might find a bit of sanctuary from a day busy with meetings or just out seeing the sights. A place to relax and recharge.
Double size bed. This room is designed with the environment in mind: energy efficient lighting, re-purposed building materials and free organic toiletries are provided. Access to a shared bathroom is included.
Named after the Mission San Francisco de Asis (built in 1776) and called the “Heart of San Francisco” for its geographical location, this hidden gem also has something rare in these parts……the sunniest weather in town. Protected from the usual cold sea winds by three surrounding hills, it is a special place, this “city within a city’, full of flavor, rich history, great shopping, art and some of the best restaurants in town. A place worth exploring.
  • I traveled to SF for a week on a work trip. It was my first time staying at Nineteen 06 Mission but I’d definitely stay there again. Checkin was friendly, room was clean, bed was comfortable, continental breakfast was nice, and the common space is cute and cozy. It got a little chilly at night but it was February and the bed was warm, so it didn’t bother me. Thanks again, hope to be back soon!

This room has its own sink, vanity, microwave, refrigerator, coffee pot and toilet. Shower privileges are available, of course, with bath ropes provided by the host. The room is well lit with southern light all day. We provide a list of wonderful sites to visit in San Francisco from a local native with companion sites to visit nearby. A bar-b-q grill and bistro table/chairs with a heater are available outdoors for a day of rest at home.
This room has a private entrance. There is a 24 Hour Fitness gym available for those that enjoy regular excercise. Nearby is a Subway, Extreme Pizza, coffee shop, Chinese restaurant, Mexican restaurant and a fabulous place to have a hamburger.
There is a Greenbelt beside this district with access to a dog park and a neighborhood vegetable garden. Only a mile away is Lake Merced where even more people are found walking or running around a circular track for recreation.
  • Glenn is a great host. Very kind and helpful. Fridge is stocked with lots of snacks. Everything was great!

    Kat2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • Glenn is very hospital, kind, and helpful! He's a very humorous and kindhearted individual who made me and my partner feel comfortable and was always willing to answer any questions we had regarding local food restaurants, transportation, etc. The place is at a good location and is very secure, simple, and at a brilliant price. 10/10 recommend!

    Arnold2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was perfect! The check-in was very nice and easy. Glenn has left fresh bread and fruits for us in the room, so we could eat something after our long trip. The room is small, but enough for two people. You have your own toilet and even a little fridge. The furniture is modern and pleasant. You have to know, that you can shower upstairs in Glenn’s Apartment, but this is absolutely no problem. Every evening he came downstairs, ask about our day and welcomed us, to his place. So you can shower in the morning or in the evening, whenever you like. There is nothing negative about the Airbnb. Glenn is a nice and welcoming Guy. If you are looking for a good and cheap place in San Francisco, go for it!

    Clarissa2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Glenn’s place is awesome, I would definitely recommend staying here. We crashed here after a long road trip from LA, and it was a wonderful place to unwind. The bed is very comfortable, the fridge is packed with snacks/drinks, and it’s a private space. While we didn’t meet Glenn, he was quick to communicate and check in/out was very simple. :) Thanks for the hospitality!

    Mary Elizabeth2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • The room is nice and you have your own toilet, what I think that’s really important when you book a room. The staying was amazing. Glenn prepared us a really good reception with snacks and everything we could need. He was really kind and helpful. Gave us a lot of tips about how to get around and he was always happy to help. Definitely would stay here again.

    Larissa2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • It is the host that makes this room better, with perfect location, facilities, and security. Glenn was the best host I ever met. It will be the best place for anyone who wants a perfect day in San Francisco. We thank him for all he has done during our stay, and are willing to use this place for our next visit.

    자원2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • The place is exactly what it says in the profile. Its close to airport ( 10 min in car) . There's restaurant and grocery store nearby. Glenn is the most friendly host we have encountered in airbnb. We recommend this place 100%!

    Mark2019-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • Glenn’s place was great. Very convenient and not too far from the main attractions. He was very accommodating and helpful. Would recommend and stay again.

Clean and light. Completely renovated in 2016. Guests will have the use of a private bath with a large shower, cozy bed and sitting room to enjoy coffee and tea with morning pastry. Wifi, refrigerator, microwave, sunny bedroom, easy street level access with just one tiny step into the house. 5 minute walk to a wide range of excellent restaurants and theatre. Just 2 blocks from public transportation and 15 minutes from the airport.
We have just remodeled our space in 10/2016. It is well appointed but not suitable for children under 12.
Our neighborhood is nestled between the Mission and Noe Valley which are two exciting and vibrant neighborhoods. You can easily walk to both from our house.
  • Excellent value in a great location. Good scones (nice touch!) and very attentive hosts. Comfortable bed and pillows (which were just the right thickness). Would highly recommend!

  • Molly's place is great! It's really clean and the bed is large and comfortable. The breakfast is delicious. The entrance to the house is shared but it didn't disturb me in any way. You can hear some street noise in the room but it's quiet at night. Thanks Molly!

    Tzvi2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Very Clean, and the scones and breakfast were delicious!

    Lisa2020-02-17T00:00:00Z

  • Molly made the stay very easy and made us feel very welcome. Thank you!

    Jacob2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Molly and Jen's bed and breakfast was a perfect respite from long days of exploring San Francisco. Located just a few blocks from a BART (subway) station, it was easy to go anywhere in the city. Make sure you get a clipper card when taking the subway, it saves you money and is easy to manage. Accomodations were very comfortable and the daily breakfast of scones, fresh fruit, and coffee really hit the spot. This is a great place to stay in San Francisco!

    Zac2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • Molly's place was comfortable and clean, the bedroom was a bit small but that wasn't a big issue as we were out of the house mostly. Molly was quick to reply and made a lovely breakfast everyday. Would recommend!

Craftsman Berkeley home, over 100 years old, filled with antiques. Like staying with your grandma.. Use of common areas for your Christmas feast. A good supply of linens, china on hand. The dining room table seats 8. Just buy the food and use my kitchen. Grandma judy on hand to help.
Private room, large on suite bathroom. Claw footed tub/shower. Common areas, kitchen, dining room living room, shared. Porch, deck and yard with hot tub and chickens.
Diverse neighborhood, good restaurants, artists studios, 4th street shopping all within a mile. Small grocery store across the street, another more gourmet, around the corner and the awesome Berkeley Bowl West a straight 5 minute walk down 8th Street. The University is about 2 1/2 miles, San Francisco is directly across the Bay. Aquatic Park and the Berkeley marina are a 5 minute walk, nice places to see the sunset. Easy to get to from the highway, 2 turns and about a mile. West Berkeley has become a favorite neighborhood.
  • Judy is a superhost. Very thoughtful and kind, unusually generous with her own food. She is quiet and respectful

    Libby2020-04-01T00:00:00Z
  • Judy was very responsive and very accommodating (about my early arrival). The private room and bathroom were very clean and interesting (like a miniature museum). The laundry and the kitchen were convenient to use, although not as pristine. If you do not need to use the common area for such as laundry/kitchen, the stay would be nice and comfortable. Overall, I was happy about the stay.

    Celine2020-03-21T00:00:00Z
  • I was looking for a room in a pinch, and Judy got back to me right away. She went above and beyond to make sure I was taken care of.

    Drew2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • I had to cancel my reservation due to last minute changes caused by the coronavirus and Judy was so wonderfully helpful about all of it. Definitely going to stay here in the future!

    Kieran2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Judy was an amazing host! I was in for work and had early mornings & late nights. It was great to have a cozy place to crash at the end of the night. Very close to some great restaurants and a convenient bus (or long walk) to Berkeley’s campus. Loved meeting Baby the min-pin as well :) I’ll definitely stay again!

    Alissa2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Judy’s space was clean, spacious, and beautiful! The best part of my stay however was Judy herself. She was incredibly hospitable, thoughtful, and even had breakfast waiting for me in the morning. I felt right at home!

    Jessica2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Judy is the badass grandma you wish you had. Her place is super comfortable, quiet, and she’s thought of everything you could possibly need. She offered me her amazing homemade yogurt and granola for breakfast. The room, bed, and en suite bathroom are incredibly well stocked, comfortable, and clean. Check in and out were a breeze. While I didn’t make time for the hot tub, I hope to stay again with her soon.

    Brett2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was just as I hoped. It was close to campus and a nice room. Judy was friendly but also gave me my own space.

This freshly redecorated economy level room features beautiful warm tones highlighted by period wallpaper, antiques, original hardwood floors and a Persian rug. A tall window brings soft light into the cozy room. The en-suite marble bathroom is newly remodeled. Great for business trips or a weekend escape to the heart of San Francisco. Since this is a small room, it is ideally suited for one person.
Low key residential location. Pacific Heights, Laurel Heights, Presidio Heights.
  • The Montecristo Inn is absolutely amazing! It is located in one of the best areas in SF, with several great restaurants and upscale shops around. Away from the hustle and bustle of downtown, it is a great option if you want to experience the SF that the locals know. Alta Plaza park is a great spot for picnics and views and is only a few blocks away. Oh, and the breakfast is outstanding!

  • Beautiful B&B, sparkling clean, old charm with a modern bathroom. It was perfectly located for our event at UCSF Laurel Heights. Check-in was a breeze and they let us leave our things past check-out. Delicious breakfast, made to order. Highly recommend!

  • Silvya is very sweet and kind. She is very attentive and makes sure you’re comfortable. I highly recommend her space.

    Chrisangel2019-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • Silvya is an amazing host! Her place is clean, comfy, she cooks delicious meals, and she is amazingly thoughtful and kind. She really went out of her way to make me feel at home and provided many useful tips for getting around and doing stuff in the area. Only things potential guests should be aware of is the hourly charge for “late” check in and if you desire minimal interaction with your host, then this may not be the best fit for you.

  • This is what AirBnB is all about. Silvya is a gem of a human being. All the great reviews about her are completely true. She is warm, thoughtful, and genuinely caring. She went above and beyond to ensure my stay was comfortable. Her place is very conveniently located near the Daly City train station. For anyone traveling to SF on a buget that enjoys tasty breakfast, delicious tea, and pleasant conversation, I highly recommend Silvya's place.

A great refuge in a great neighborhood. Walking distance to shops and great food, and very safe! Did I mention the incredibly comfortable bed, easy parking, fresh juices, and full kitchen?
Basically half the house with your own private entry. The most comfortable queen bed you can find...with hardwood floors, skylights in bathroom, with six foot claw foot tub. Great cooks kitchen..and lovely backyard. Located in a great, safe, quiet neighborhood walking distance from one of berkeley's gourmet ghetto's (coffee, sushi, bread, bars, etc.). Quiet neighborhood with view of trees and plenty of parking. Includes wifi, laundry and my excellent cooking. Includes fresh towels, sheets, snacks....and it's just way better than a hotel anyday.....A direct bus to the city on the corner..accessible by bart. I will cook for you if you like, and there are fresh veggies from the garden to nibble on, I could make you gluten free vegetarian pizza (see (website hidden)) as well as fresh home made juices of many shapes, colors, and sizes. I am a host that will take that extra step to make sure you have the best experience you can have.....BTW..the whole house (2 bedrooms) could be available if that is what you are looking for... for a different price...please inquire.

  • This was a great place to stay! Really nice amenities, friendly staff, and it felt very safe. Would definitely stay again.

  • The service here was amazing. The rooms are very stylish and clean. There are shared washrooms/showers and the provide you with a robe and slippers which is a nice touch. We parked in a garage overnight on 16th that was recommended and since we arrived very late we were happy to discover it was open 24/7. The neighbourhood isn’t the most glamorous so that’s something to keep in mind for some people. We loved it and absolutely loved every bit of San Francisco and can’t wait to come back.

    Jocelyn2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Really enjoyed the stay here! The space is beautiful, clean, and has a wonderful selection of complimentary breakfast items. I would recommend asking for a room that’s not on the street though— a lot of traffic and construction noise made its way into our room at night. But other than that Nineteen 06 Mission was terrific :)

  • I stayed at Lana's home for 3 months during my studies in Berkeley. Lana made me feel welcome from the first minute that I arrived. She had to deal with personal issues and still always asked me how I was and if everything was alright. In the beginning, when I read her rooms' ratings on AirBnB I was sceptical since I felt that Americans often praise stuff to high that they liked or that just was "not bad". To make it short: they were all right. My room was super comfortable and even had a small walk-in wardrobe and a fridge! I was welcome downstairs to sit with her and talk and to prepare my meals as well as use her living room. Lana owns a lot of stuff, most of which is useful and can be used by everyone. However, Lana is a friend, too. We often sat together in the kitchen and laughed and she talked about the many chapters in her life and what she experienced with her students - she even knows George Lucas! As I was busy most of the time studying, I was not free often but whenever I was bored and Lana was home we directly had an idea what to do (she knows ALL the places and events in Richmond) and we drove around. It was very interesting to meet someone so open-minded and unjudging. You feel truely a part of something! I will see you in Europe, Lana, or on my next trip to California!!

  • Lana is an outstanding host! She is very kind, attentive, and knowledgeable about the Bay Area. I stayed at her place for one month after flying in from Michigan, and she made me feel right at home. She was kind enough to show me around Richmond my first weekend there and constantly suggested fun things for me to do in the area during my stay. My favorite part of my stay was sharing meals with Lana. She is a very interesting person and has tons of stories and experiences to share! You honestly won’t find a better Airbnb in the Bay Area with this type of value for this price. I’m really grateful for meeting Lana and having her hospitality during my first month in the Bay.

  • It was a great pleasure to stay at Lana's place. She is always very helpful, thoughtful & warm hearted. She's very active & always eager to go extra miles for her guests. We stayed there for three months, we found her whenever needed. Thanks a lot Lana! We miss mussa, fresh mint tea, all the fresh lemons from the garden & your company. We look forward to an opportunity to come back again! All the best Lana!

  • I was at UC Berkeley as a Visiting Scholar for 3 months and enjoyed very much staying at Lana's place. It was a great way to get to know the American and Californian culture. Lana is a person who is a very welcoming, helpful, generous nice and curious about the others and others' culture. She makes her best to keep the house clean, enjoyable and confortable and is very successful in it. She has a very nice garden. In addition, if you are at Lana's place, you will never feel alone, as she would organise dinners (she is a great cook btw), enhancing interaction with neighbours and former guests of hers. I also enjoyed going to Berkeley by bike (there is a bike pathway) and discover the nice areas with nature and nice houses all the way through.

  • I was really lucky to choose Lana's place. The environment never made me feel that I was a guest. Lana was so friendly from the first minute. In addition to her great communication skills, and her precious guidance at the Bay Area, she also helped me meet many interesting people in the neighborhood -- I have many people to call when I come back to California! The location of the house is perfect if you look for a quiet place, with walking distance to the public transportation. Lastly, I was so happy with the decoration of the house in general, and my room in particular. Overall, I strongly recommend this place for new visitors who look for a warm place. You will probably have great friends here.

  • I was in need of a room for a week while I was relocating for work. Lana answered my request right away and I was at her house shortly after. Lana was very helpful in showing me how to navigate the BART system and the city of Richmond in general. She also provides food! Lana is one of the nicest and welcoming people I have ever met. Definitely request a reservation if it's available!

  • My experience at Lana's home was one I will never forget. Lana takes great care to get to know each of her guests on a personal level and bring them into her community. She is one of the main reasons that I am living in the Richmond community. I moved from Illinois to California for work. I was bright-eyed and lost when I arrived. Lana made me feel like I was not only in a home, but I was at home. She cares for her guests and has infinite knowledge of the surroundings. She is a wealth of knowledge in all aspects of life in Richmond and the Bay Area.

  • My stay in this beautiful room in Lana's lovely house passed way to quickly. The room was perfect for my needs, from the large desk you have a nice view into the backyard. The house and especially the kitchen is perfectly equipped you will find almost anything you might be searching for. Lana is an amazing host and can offer great tips on places to visit, restaurants in the Bay Area. If I am in need of a place again, I would definitly come back.

  • Karina is amazing. I really enjoyed my stay. The area was very convenient and safe. The room very spacious and warm. Everything was perfect and her hospitality was beyond this world! I wanted to extend my stay, but she was already booked. I would definitely stay with her again!

  • House is gorgeous in a great neighborhood. Karina is so welcoming! We stayed three nights, and didn't want to leave. House wasn't too far from Berkeley, and San Francisco is a $7 uber to their BART station. Highly recommend if you want somewhere cozy!

  • Karina is a fantastic host. We felt very welcome and were very well taken care of. We strongly recommend her.

    Klas2019-11-07T00:00:00Z
  • Karina’s home is beautiful and our bedroom was beautifully appointed with a comfortable bed. We were visiting our daughter in Oakland and the drive to/from was 10-15 minutes with minimal traffic. I’d highly recommend Karina’s home and her breakfast was delicious!

    Beth2019-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • Karina and her Husband were lovely and very accommodating, the only note I would add which is not a bad mark at all on the household or arrangement, is that we would highly recommend hiring a car for your stay, we only stayed 3 nights and the house and breakfast and company was wonderful but we did try to use public transportation and found it to be confusing, time consuming and expensive, Uber was cheaper, but we found drivers to be reluctant to pick us up from the location of the BnB, at the bottom of the hill there is a bus that takes you to Oakland where the PT system is readily available but because there are so many independent companies running transport it ended up costing around 41 dollars for two people, 4 different types of transportation, (still ended up walking across San Francisco and back instead of paying for trolleys or tours) and a 20 minute walk up a very steep and beautiful hill. Overall we enjoyed the experience and don’t mind walking as we were opting to save money, but still a car would have been handy and in hindsight Uber would cost the same as public transport. Karina was wonderful and makes a very filling and delicious breakfast for her guests and the room and house were lovely and any questions we had about the town were answered. We highly recommend Karina as the house was exactly as advertised and very nice and everything was perfect except for our own lack of knowledge.

    Margaret2019-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • Karina is a great host. She wasn’t kidding about hearty breakfast, her hospitality was beyond the roof! She accommodated everything that we needed and more. If you are planning on staying in Oakland on hot days however, make sure to prepare for the warm nights in her house as AC isn’t in the amenities.

  • My stay here was great! They had amazing gluten free options for the breakfast in the mornings and great gluten free (and other) snack options in the evening. The room was immaculate, great features (even a heated toilet seat...ahh). Very comfortable and clean and lovely design. I was getting rides everywhere and it was well situated - not too far from central downtown and north shore area near the golden gate bridge/palace of fine arts.

The house is spacious, you can enjoy the patio and spend time in the living room.
Besides SF - We live in the middle of Nation Redwood Parks, Berkeley Campus is a must to visit and Oakland deserves a visit too.
  • This is an extraordinary place. The surroundings--the Oakland Hills just above Montclair Village--are sublime. Karina's and Marc's hospitality is beyond belief. They immediately treat you as a family member, while remaining discreet and respectful of your privacy. I was never treated to such royal breakfasts, prepared the way and at the time of my choosing. Karina and Marc are also delightful conversation companions. My visit was at the time of the coronavirus lockdown, and so I and a couple of other guests felt like stranded on a desert island--or better, considering the location, on a Magic Mountain--with the best companionship you could wish for. I made lifelong friends during this unforgettable stay.

Monte Cristo is a classic San Francisco Bed and Breakfast Hotel located in the exclusive and popular Pacific Heights neighborhood of San Francisco, offering guests classic European style, comfort & privacy. Perhaps the oldest original hospitality structure in San Francisco, the remarkable bed and breakfast San Francisco building has been a part of San Francisco since 1875. Originally built as a bordello and saloon, it served as a speakeasy in the 1920s.
This larger street level room has one queen bed, private marble lined bathroom en-suite, with double vanity, a Japanese style heated toilet seat with bidet, period furniture, and hardwood floors with Persian rug. Enjoy a quiet night’s rest in the supremely comfy beds. This room features soundproof window. With complimentary phone and wifi. Perfect for business or pleasure in the center of San Francisco.
Low key residential location. Pacific Heights, Laurel Heights, Presidio Heights.
  • This is what a true bed and breakfast should be. This was the best experience we’ve had on the platform ever and is based wholly on The Monte Cristo being an actual traditional Bed and Breakfast. The staff were phenomenal and there is always someone there on site which is super helpful and provides more safety for myself personally. Jack, Carl, and Andre were exceptionally thoughtful and provided us with lots of hospitality and made us feel more than welcome. There is a delicious breakfast served daily as well and hot tea, coffee, and snacks available throughout the day and evening. The room was immaculate!! We haven’t slept this good in a while lol! The bed was super comfy and our room was very spacious and clean. It was gorgeous too, the wallpaper and fixtures throughout our room and the entire BnB was simply lovely. We also had a private bathroom which was just an added bonus. I can’t say enough good things about our stay here. Truly truly enjoyed our brief time here and would gladly stay again. Great spot even for a staycation here in the city. Highly recommend!!! :)

    Alicia2019-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • Absolute great place. I stayed in room 5 instead of the original room I picked. The cross breeze from outside was wonderful. The best part was the bathroom. Heated bidet. Heated towel rack. Even make-up remover cloths. The dining area had 5 different kinds of cookies and treats that were left to eat at anytime. Gluten free options. I’m gluten free so it was a great surprise. Breakfast was great. Lots of choices of fruit, cereal, juice, coffee etc.. I wish I could remember the receptionist name! He rocked!! Look forward to staying again!!! All day parking on the street 1/2 block up. Free parking on street just beware of trash days. Just parked and took Uber everywhere. Restuarant 1 block away.

Queen size bed. This room offers a bay window with bench, a queen bed with a custom made headboard with lighting, USB ports and a flat-screen cable TV.

  • Stayed in a lovely little room on the ground floor. I checked in late at 9pm, but someone was there to greet me. They had tea and cookies out, which I really enjoyed after a long day of meetings. The room was tiny as advertised but perfect for 1 person. Comfy bed and a totally updated bathroom. Despite being on street level, noise wasn't bad at all. I used a white noise app but didn't have to turn it up. Breakfast was just right, with offerings of quiche, bacon, eggs. I was really pleased and will return!!

The Island of Alameda is losing its "Secret Place" status. Block after block of beautiful historic homes and buildings, many pre-date the 1906 Earthquake. We've been loving it here for 20 some years and many of the residents are the 3rd or 4th generation in their homes. Who can blame them! Three steps down will take you into the coolest area of the house throughout the warmest days on the island, and warmest during the few cold days in Alameda. Our property has several options for relaxation and/or entertainment, inside and out for your enjoyment. Even as a "work- in-progress" the yard is a welcoming respite in between, before or after activities. Here’s a short video to display some of Alameda’s charm; https://youtu.be/2bxsaEXbSiw

  • Karen's place feels like home away from home. One of my most favorite parts about staying at her place is the perfect cotton bedding as I am a stickler for crisp, clean sheets and blankets. Whenever we visit the area, Karen's place is our top choice.

  • Simply all around good with Karen and Gene. Great, quiet location, good transport links to San Francisco, cozy room (green room), everything was there for a great breakfast, very well equipped kitchen, large bathroom, lots of towels and toiletries, cozy bathrobes, fresh fruit, good tips for things to do , fast and uncomplicated communication ....... It will hardly get any better. I would come back in a heartbeat!

  • Karen and Gene are wonderful hosts and the house is just beautiful. The rooms have cute and quirky decor that I so love, with thoughtful additions to make the stay welcoming and comfortable. And the memory foam bed and duck down pillows are to die for! We were also extremely lucky they could accommodate us an extra night at last minute. Domino the cat was a lovely and affectionate addition. Definitely recommend for families.

    Nicki2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • Karen and Gene have made our vacation perfect. The house is beautiful, stylish and very very clean ...... so clean we have rarely experienced. We traveled with a child (6 years) and he felt very well ..... he did not want to leave. You definitely have your privacy but there is always someone to talk to, Karen always responds when you have problems or questions. The area seemed very safe but that's Alameda I think in general. We never felt unsafe there. Conclusion ..... in any case, the accommodation is recommended .... there is still the original idea of Airbnb and because of such hosts, we will continue to use Airbnb and if we are in the area again come back to Karen and Gene.

Welcome to The "Grandma Room"! We joke that we call it that because it's close to the bathroom, but really, it may one day, be home to a beloved Grandma. This is the smallest, coziest bedroom in the house.

  • Great place in fantastic location. Very comfortable bed, bikes for rent and breakfast, loved my stay here!!

  • I stayed three nights in the "Grandma" room and had a pleasant and restful stay. The bedroom, the shared bathroom and the kitchen/dining/living room was clean. I used the refrigerator, dining table and watched a little local tv while I was there. Always arrived after 6pm and was able to find that last street parking spot to park near the house. I would definitely book again but next time I might try the bigger room.

  • My partner and I stayed in the Grandma Room for a full week. We had pretty packed days planned with family/or in the city, so we usually left early and came back well after dark for bed, but Karen's place provided us with a quiet slice of sanctuary throughout the hectic holidays. I found the place to be exactly as it is in the listing: quirky, small, clean, and with some nice amenities to get you going in the morning (tea, fruit, etc). Although I never saw/met Karen, she was extremely responsive to messages and we had no complaints. She also provided very helpful instructions on saving money for public transit! For our purposes, we were within walking distance of nearby family and easily found our way into Oakland/SF using public transit when we wanted to. The other excellent host that we did have the pleasure of meeting was Domino the cat, who proved to be a perfect gentleman and scholar. He greeted us most mornings in the garden for pets, which was an excellent way to start the day! Cat lovers rejoice! In summary, I highly recommend staying here for a Bay Area trip!

  • Nice little room in great neighborhood. Had everything I needed for a short stay.

  • Greatest visit I've ever experienced in Alameda. Gene and Karen are the best hosts.

    Barbara2019-12-03T00:00:00Z
  • I will recommend this gem to other SF travellers for sure.

  • Great place to stay if you want to see San Francisco. The city bus is just around the corner or you can go by ferry and enjoy a high speed ferry ride into San Francisco. It is a quiet neighborhood and easy place to park if you drive. We never used our car again. The hosts are very helpful and friendly and have all kinds of advice for enjoying your stay in San Francisco. I will recommend to my family and best friends as a place to stay on a San Francisco trip. If you ride bikes, take a ride across the Golden Gate Bridge! Have Fun! Kevin & Joyce O'Brien

Welcome to our beautiful house 15 min drive to Berkeley Campus, Oakland downtown, Rockridge Bart Sation to San Francisco. The room is light, quiet and has a nice view over the garden. The bed is full size (48" x 75" - small double), but not queen. A hearty American breakfast is included and served in our dining room. The house is 5 min drive to the charming Montclair Village (dozen of restaurants, coffee shops and 2 supermarkets).
Quiet, family neighborhood, street parking in front of the house is free and safe.
  • I highly recommend staying here! Cozy room, Karina is so incredibly kind, parking never seemed impacted, and it's just a 15 minute drive to Berkeley (~22 in peak traffic).

    Eric2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Karina’s place is located away from the hustle and bustle of the city but easily reachable and only 15 minutes away from downtown Oakland. She greeted me at around 7 PM and welcomed me into the home, showed me my room the kitchen and the bathroom. The home is beautiful and it’s enormous and it is kept very clean and neat. Each morning Karina would ask me what I like to eat for breakfast and it was ready by 7 AM. We Had a few brief but very lovely conversations and my stay there overall was five stars.

    Danny2020-01-30T00:00:00Z
  • I relocated from NJ to the Bay Area and Karina’s home was my first stop as I searched for an apartment. She may very well be one of the most friendly people I have ever met. Just a very kind and warm spirit. I was barely home but when I was, my interaction with her was very warm and welcoming. She was available to answer any questions I had about the area, and she even provides a light breakfast if you’d like. I highly enjoyed my stay.

    Larissa2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • They are so knowledgeable and friendly. Karina has a wonderful cook in the morning and she is so patient to cook different delicious foods. Lovely home with phenomenal nature around. Our stay was amazing. The place is so close to SF and South of east bay and it is located perfectly.

    Afshin2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Karina is a super host, her place is extremely comfortable and quiet, close to the BART by taking an Uber for around $8-$10, definitely will come back to stay if I ever make my trip back to SF.

    Warren2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • Had an excellent stay at Karina's place. Beautiful neighborhood that was lovely to walk through.

    Nicholas2019-12-24T00:00:00Z
  • Such an amazing experience here. Beautiful place, safe location and the sweetest hosts. Highly recommend.

    Dava2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • If I could rate this higher than 5 stars I would. Staying here was so amazing!! Karina is a bundle of sunshine! Every morning she made us eggs, not to mention there’s fruit, toast, tea to have as well. The coffee was already brewing when we woke up. She’s very hospitable making sure that your stay is comfortable and you feel like home. There’s everything you need in the house including a washer and dryer. Oh and her husband does some cool card tricks. Everything was amazing and I will definitely be coming back.

This reservation is a KING size bed in a 120 sq ft room (14' x 8.5'). Please feel free to book the additional room (QUEEN SIZE with balcony) if you have a big group of 4 people! In order to reserve, please scroll down to the RIGHT side of this reservation. Built in early 1920s and newly remodeled in 2009, Outer Richmond Bed & Breakfast is situated at the top of a traditional Victorian style, 3-story single family house with classic features, conveniently located in the heart of Richmond districts. The geographic features of the Home are 10 minutes walking distance to the north of worldly famous Golden Gate Park and one of the 49 miles scenic areas in San Francisco. The B&B facility is an independent unit with a private entrance and is filled with delightful California sunlight, or “romantic” sea fog, depending on the unique microclimate forecast. The B&B unit consists of a huge living room with a classic fireplace, a dining area, a complete kitchen, and two large and bright master bedrooms w/ independent bathrooms, and one of the bedrooms attached to a sizeable balcony. Self-served breakfast is available, coffee/tea/snacks/light refreshment/WiFi are available throughout the day. The neighborhood reflects an unique cultural diverse population in San Francisco, far beyond the remaining city. Russian supermarkets, Italian restaurants, newly acquired Chinatown (Clement Street), many Asian ethnic (Korea, Singapore, Thai, Japanese, Burma, Vietnamese) and authentic cuisines and delicacies, Irish bakery and pubs are all spread out within a stretch of 1 to 2 miles. Don't be surprised if you can hear 5 different languages within a block or two of distance. Meanwhile, this area sustains a strong family oriented atmosphere with multiple religious churches and temples, and daycare centers and grade schools and senior centers. Street parking in the areas are sporadically available. The alternate option of transportation tool is Muni, a city public transportation system promised riders not to walk more than a mile to your destination, that is only 30 minutes to SF downtown, Union Square, Cable Car and many tourist points. As mentioned, the Richmond area is the historical sightseeing spot itself.
  • Nice clean & convenient spot in the Richmond, walking distance to TONS of stuff. Generally quiet neighborhood. There is another private room that may be occupied, so you don't have the place to yourself, in case that wasn't clear.

  • We absolutely loved Andrea’s place! We stayed here for 2 nights. Andrea was very friendly and very accommodating. We left our car at hers and we used Lyft to get around SF. We would definitely recommend this place and we would stay here again.

    HouaVa2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay! Everything is perfect! The apartment is very beautiful and clean! Large room + private bathroom, all in a pretty corner and easily accessible by bus! It was also great to be able to have breakfast. There was cereal, juice, yogurts, milk! This perfectly equipped bnb had everything to please us!

    Samantha2019-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • Andrea’s place was very clean and stylish. It was close to clement st where all the nice Chinese restaurants are. Andrea let us park in front her house so we don’t have to worry about parking. San Fran is a super bike-friendly city and it’s much easier to ride a bike instead of driving around. We enjoyed our stay there! Highly recommend her place!

  • Stayed 2 nights in San Francisco and loved the place. Andrea and her husband are very nice. Parking is difficult, but we were immediately helped by the two and we did not have to worry about the car :-). Approximately 30 minutes to the city center by bus, that's really no problem. Thanks to Andrea for the nice stay :-)

    Lasse2019-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had wonderful place in San Fransisco, thank you, Andrea!

    Zsófia2019-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • This is a really nice and clean room with an ensuite bathroom in a really spacious appartment. The common areas (living room, kitchen, dining room) are shared with potential Airbnb guests from the other bedroom that is rented out. Everything is really clean and the kitchen is fully equipped. So if you can't be bothered to walk 2 minutes (two blocks) to Geary Street where there quite a bunch of good restaurant, you could easily cook dinner "at home". The area where the apartment is located is a quite residential neighbourhood also just two blocks from the north side of Golden Gate Park. Parking on the street could be really tricky if it wasn't for Andrea and her husband who are really helpful by reserving a parking spot. Andrea also offers a lot of information prior to the arrival and responds really within seconds you contact her. Highly recommended!

Our hostel is located in the culturally rich neighborhood of North Beach (SF’s Little Italy) and borders America’s largest Chinatown. We have great food and great fun on all sides! The rhythm of the Beat poets flow in the streets outside their regular hangouts, like Vesuvio, and City Lights Bookstore, just a couple of blocks away. And we are only a 20 minute walk from the famous Fisherman’s Wharf.

  • Good stay at this hostel in North Beach. Bathroom is a little small but then, it's San Francisco.

    Matthew2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • It was better than expected. It's an extremely affordable place. With breakfast and the outings they do to show San Francisco made it extra special. I had a blast in the common room and meeting new friends. The only that might bother others is the strip clubs around the corner XD but its like 3. And theres always people of all ages walking around to the local restaurants ectt...If I'm ever in san Francisco, I will definitely be back.

hi, welcome to Vy's Bed N Peace. My Wife and I have always used AirBnB in our travel for years and love the fact that we get to meet people from all walks of life. I’m always looking forward to hosting great people so I’ll be waiting for an inquiry from you and we can start discussing some more details from there. We have a nice private place in SF with fruit and vegetable in our garden. Parking is easy and public transportation is close by but ride-share apps like Uber and Lyfts are best.
The room is listed for 4 but most suitable for 2 adults and 2 kids. We have other guests that share the common areas including the living room, kitchen, and small work space in the hallway. Guests can also use the BBQ area in our backyard and hang out in our small garden. our newly renovated house is probably one of the only few that come with AC for the few hot summer days.
We are one block away from a brewery, 5 minutes walk from a playground, 15 minutes walk from fishing pier, and 10 minutes walk from the demolished 49er stadium (an outdoor mall is pending to be built?)
  • Excellent stay. The host was sweet and polite.
