“Great for dinner or weekend brunch: NOPA. A favorite. It is crowded and hard to get a reservation, so book in advance, or have a drink while waiting for a set at the bar. Simple, natural cuisine and great mixed drinks. They serve dinner until 1 AM. ”

“Cocktails are the best. Ask for the Field Guide to Birds menu. Get there early and sit outside unless you're already hearing impaired. Inside the music is loud and guests shout to be heard. ”

“NYTimes reviewed neighborhood gem with satisfying seasonal fare and locally sourced architectural materials! Not to be missed though you will find long lines for brunch on weekends. Many surfers working there so be nice because they'd probably rather be in the ocean. ;)”

“Great ocean views... if there is no fog that is. Nice brews as well, including the Fleishhacker Stout, named after the giant heated outdoor pool that once graced the southern end of Ocean Beach. The Milkshake IPA also gets rave reviews. ”

“Less than a five-minute walk, you will stumble into this casual beer garden, on the corner of Valencia/Duboce, that is always lively and has a large selection of beers and drinks.”

““Not your typical Mexican fare”, the “inventive” tacos and other “tasty” small plates at these “high-energy” taquerias are “full of surprises”; expect a “constant party” in the “hip” surrounds, which all have outdoor tables, and if there’s a “wait” (they’re no-reservations), bartenders mixing “mean cocktails” help pass the time.”

Dive Bar

“Cash only! Though super divey, Toronado has probably the best selection of reasonably priced beer in the city! Don't expect friendly service or clean bathrooms. ”

“The best pizza in San Francisco! Pro Tip: You can join the waitlist online to reduce your wait time by using Yelp. I recommend adding yourself to the waitlist about 30 minutes before you'd like to dine, and an 60 minutes ahead of time on Friday and Saturday nights.”

“The oozy, buttery deep-dish pies are not a carbon copy of some Chicago creation by any stretch. With topping possibilities like artichokes and goat cheese, they’re a distinctly California creation — and a drop-dead delicious one at that. Note: the menu recently welcomed some healthy seeming things like a roasted kale appetizer and a broccolini topped deep dish pie, but don’t miss the classic — with sausage, mushrooms, and green bell pepper — and the spicy chicken wings. ”
