Thanks to the many protected coves in the area, Sant Antoni is an excellent place for swimming, and its glistening waters are full of sailboats. You can get great views of the sea from Punta Galera, a rocky outcrop jutting into the water less than a 10-minute drive from town. Just outside of Sant Antoni are an array of small villages such as Santa Agnès de Corona and Sant Rafael de sa Creu, where the narrow streets are speckled with buildings, most sporting the ubiquitous whitewashed walls of traditional Spanish architecture. Rambling around these quiet towns will give you a glimpse into Sant Antoni’s past before it became a vacation hotspot.

Ibiza experiences a relatively mild Mediterranean climate all year round, so there is no bad time to secure a holiday apartment in San Antoni. The summer months are the busiest, as the long, hot, sunny days make it pleasant to spend a day at the beach or head out for a boat tour. The shoulder seasons of spring and autumn tend to be much quieter, while still allowing you to enjoy gorgeous weather. As the temperature drops in the winter, the crowds thin out. Some local businesses close from November to April once the island quiets down, but this is a great time to explore many parts of Ibiza in comparative solitude.

Es Vedrà

This tiny, rocky uninhabited limestone islet off the coast of Sant Antoni doubles as a nature reserve and is a great place to go snorkelling. The only way to visit the island is by boat; there are many vendors in Sant Antoni that offer five-hour trips. Most include stops at nearby coves including Cala Bassa, Platges de Comte, and Cala Moli.

Cala Salada

Located just 15 minutes’ drive from Sant Antoni in a small protected cove, Cala Salada features soft, golden sand fringed with pine trees and clear, shallow water for swimmers of all ages. It is one of the nicest beaches in the area and is still largely undeveloped, allowing you to get a small glimpse of how the island may have looked 60 years ago.

Church of Sant Antoni

This 17th-century fortified church stands right next to the harbour in Sant Antoni at the heart of the town. Featuring thick, whitewashed walls and iron doors, the church was designed to keep out pirates whose ships sailed into the harbour. You can still see cannons in the adjacent tower and a well for drinking water inside the church, in case the local population was ever under siege.
