We had an amazing time at the Cactus Boutique Hotel. The room was spacious, clean and well equipped. The staff was super nice and helpful. The hotel is located close to a lot of cafes and restaurants. We would definitely stay there again!

I HIGHLY recommend staying here. There is hot water, air conditioning and delicious breakfast. It is an oasis from the chaos of traveling. The staff is literally the nicest staff I have ever interacted with and they will go above and beyond to make you happy. The location is great, just a few blocks from the popular tourist restaurants and a 10 minute walk to the beach. Best place I’ve stayed so far in Colombia by far.

Nice comfortable stay. Plenty of room for a long stay with an adequately equipped kitchen. WIFI was good. Great shower with plenty of hot water. Be careful around the pools though! The tile steps and floor are very slippery with wet feet.

Diego's lodging is located in the historic center of Santa Marta, 1 block from the bay and in front of the police command, which security is perceived since it arrives. Nearby you will have restaurants, shops, drugstores, public transport and two blocks away is the gastronomic area and parks. Super recommended.

I can’t believe how nice this house was for the price that we paid! It was a beautiful villa w a private pool. Very close to shopping and restaurants, clubs. Such a relaxing time we had. Swimming everyday and waking to the beach. Dylan is super nice and I couldn’t have had a better time. Thanks for having us! I plan on bringing my family next time around

Amazing and beautiful place to stay! The villa is absolutely great and don’t miss the sunset by the pool! Andrea is super helpful! The only thing is the internet not so stable, but I guess many places in Colombia also the same! Only if you need work hat might need to be consider, otherwise without the connection also good for enjoy tho entire villa!

Our stay was amazing! There were some issues with our room because of hard rains, however they fixed it when we left! Even with some water in our bedroom, it was amazing. Thankfully it didn't rain all night. Other than that, it is well though, there is a telephone available, you can order stuff (Carabian Wings restaurant have amazing ribs) The pool is awesome, like on the pictures and the view is really cool. !

This place is so charming, the location is perfect walking distance to everything, lots of restaurants and bars, the beach is also very close. Understand that the wind in Santa Marta is insanely strong, especially as it passes through the streets near the building at night, really sounds like a hurricane coming through, however overtime you become very accustomed to it, makes the place even more memorable. I wish I had more time to enjoy the terrace area and the pool. I spent half an hour soaking up the sun and noticed bees hovering over me, there’s a growing nest of bees pasted on the roof, however they’re pretty harmless mainly due to the velocity of the wind; they struggle to stay in one location while in flight. It’s such a lively location, and it’s entirely safe with armed guards at the front desk, not that it’s even needed given that I walked home alone at nights between 2-4 in the morning. Do not miss out on this wonderful gem of a place! I will certainly return here.

My wife and I just stayed a week at Sandra’s place. As we are “full time” travelers, we have stayed at a large number of AirBnB’s. Our stay at Sandra’s was very enjoyable. From the booking process through check in, everything was flawless. She was always quick to communicate and answered all our questions. Upon our arrival, check in was smooth and we were in our apartment within minutes. The apartment was spotless, and had all the amenities we hope to find in a rental unit. The kitchen was well stocked, clothes washing machine worked well, the bed and all furnishings were comfortable. We also enjoyed the pools on the rooftop each day. We both recommend Sandra’s place and will definitely check availability prior to our next visit to Santa Marta.

The apartment is beautiful! Very comfortable and the pool gives a very personal touch. Sandra is a very good hostess, she was very aware of our daughter while she was sick, she even gave us information about a clinic where they could attend her. We were very satisfied and we will surely return!

this house has that Scottsdale Arizona type of vibe. The natural wood throughout is a nice touch. the polish concrete in the shower was amazing plus the bamboo flooring in the shower. I enjoyed my stay and if I am in town, I will either do this place again or another location that sandra's controls. great work all around.

Sandra's apartment is very pretty (the pictures are not deceiving) and it is located in a quiet street, but two blocks away from everything a tourist might need or want. The communication was excellent and our concerns were addressed at the time.

The most striking thing about Ms. Ines' home is that it is a penthouse -- it has the entire top floor of the "Santa Rita" apartment building. I got a 360 degree city view, day and night. At night, it is a great place to chill. I highly recommend it for this reason.

I was visiting Colombia from Canada on a cycling tour along the coast. Hercilia’s place, and her helper, Ruth, were wonderful. The staff was always happy to help, and the proximity to the sea can’t be beat. My stay in Santa Marta has been wonderful thanks to this accommodation!

We loved it, I think it has been one of our best trips. The apartment is very complete, very fast attention, Mrs. Hercilia was watching us all the time, is one block from the beach and the best is very close to the center of Santa Marta.

Value-wise, 5 stars, definitely. Pros: secure/gated/door person, dedicated parking spot, nice pizza spot across the street, easy check-in/out, excellent price, perfect wifi/internet connection, balcony, quiet neighborhood. Cons: low (cold) shower pressure (but enough), tv awkwardly placed (can't watch in bed or comfortably on couch), very few channels, air conditioning worked but wasn't the best. For me, the location was the biggest negative, unfortunately. The neighborhood is so, so quiet. Aside from the pizza place across the street, there is nowhere to go. It does not feel safe to walk into town after dark, and it's a good 15 minute walk. Definitely need a taxi. The beach down to street is also a bit sketchy, I personally wouldn't go there during the day and my boyfriend said the same. For what you are paying and what you get, this place cannot be beat, but ensure the location is right for you.

Our passage through Alberto's Airbnb was excellent. On the sidelines we had a great time in Santa Marta. Alberto's attention and kindness were impeccable at all times. He guided us the first day about what activities we could do according to the weather we had, indicated prices and gave us reliable recommendations on how to get to Tayrona Park and where to stay. He also told us how to get to the Gold Museum, and where to go to buy cheaper in the area. With regard to accommodation, it is very well located and is super comfortable. The view from the balcony is very beautiful and the people of the place very friendly. Super recommended! :)

This place is a great value accommodation. The space is not new - and shows the signs of wear and tear - but was spotlessly clean. We found it surprisingly spacious for a budget room, no clamoring over our own bags for lack of floor space. It is NOISY given the location - but if you want to be in the heart of the action, it’s the place to be! We had our choice of great places to walk to for going out to eat. Alberto was very prompt and thorough communicating the directions, and we found the place easily. If you think you’ll find this a tranquil seaside retreat, think again, but if you enjoy convenience to the city center/nightlife atmosphere - 100% recommend!

We loved it!! The accommodation is in front of the bay. Excellent location to access restaurants, bus routes, cafes and get lost in the streets of the historic center. Because it is such a central location there is a bit of noise, but it didn't bother us at all. The view is sensational and the sea breeze accompanied us throughout the stay. We want to come back!

The appartment is perfectly situated, just minutes away from the beach and the historical centre of the city. Very spacious and it really helped that it had air conditioning. Not really a place if you want to cook your own food since there is very limited kitchen tools combined with the fact that the electric oven is not great. There is also no shower head but if you don't mind those things the appartment has great value.

Perfect location and police station across the road. Felt very safe! Everything is a minute walk.

Location is perfect, close to the main square with excellent restaurants and bars, but also quiet so you can sleep well at night. The rooms are clean and have enough space. Diana, who cooks and cleans for us, was wonderful. It's great to be able to wake up to a good breakfast. I highly recommend Catalina's Place.

Beautiful house, with lots of love in every detail and with a perfect location! Catalina is an excellent hostess, very aware of us from a distance to solve some unforeseen events with the pool. The house is stylish, the rooms very comfortable; the well-equipped kitchen ... a small oasis in the middle of the vibrant historic center.

It’s simply a house where, as soon you get in, you feel home. It is very comfortable also for a group of 4-6 people, it allows you to relax and enjoy a piece of calm just a few steps from place de Los Novios and its busy streets. Those ones that prefer to stay secluded from the vivacity of Colombian bursting street noise may prefer to find an high floor hotel. The presence of Diane will add a fantastic breakfast service. I can not recommend a better place.

Catalinas place is absolutely beautiful and in a great location! There is plenty of space and it has a wonderful open layout and great rooftop. You can walk to the coast and most tourist attractions very easily. We booked a traditional cooking class with the housekeeper Diana which was the highlight of our trip! If you’re a westerner try to find parking in an actual parking garage instead of on the street to avoid car damage, otherwise everything was great!

WOW! What an incredible experience! The CACTUS SUITES were BEAUTIFUL! Large open rooms, impeccably clean and incredibly stylish. And the attention to detail was amazing, from luxury linens, pillows and towels to live cactus’ sprinkled throughout the room. Fabulous amenities like two pools, hanging basket chairs, lounge areas with dripping Bougainvillea and fantastic breakfast. But the most impressive was the staff. From the moment we arrived we felt welcome. It was apparent that every member of the staff took PERSONAL PRIDE in their job and made sure we felt safe and pampered. We will return...and stay longer!

Excellent host The apartment has an unbeatable price / quality ratio, it is steps from everything: beach, museums, restaurant, discos, buses, markets, all in the center of Santa Marta, and both Juan David and Deisy were constantly attentive to our needs. We had read some unfavorable comment about the accommodation, but either Juan David already solved the pending issues, or else some capricious guest wants five-star hotel services in an economical lodging. Everything worked perfectly: television, refrigerator, washing machine, blender, coffee maker ... there was a small cut in the Wi-Fi signal and the host took care instantly. 100% recommendable!!

Great value!! The reviews for the apartment were correct in that the bedroom is small but everything worked great! Check in was flexible and easy, the air conditioning was great, the WiFi was good, and the water pressure in the shower worked well. It is very centrally located and for the price it was an amazing deal!

All supremely good. At first it looks like a bad impression, but then it feels like home. It is close to the sea and public transport is very close. I only have one recommendation and it is to better illuminate the entrance to the building, since at night the entrance is scary. 100% recommended

Highly recommended option of accommodation in the best site of the old Santa Marta. Although it is located right next to the Zona Rosa with excellent restaurants and bars, the acoustic insulation of the windows guarantees a very comfortable stay.

It is my second time at this lodge, and I still like the view it has, the location, it is close to the city center and the Wedding Park (restaurant and bars can be found), it has craft shops nearby, or any business you need Taxis and buses pass through the front of the place. Excellent place!

Great place to stay if you’re spending some time in Santa Marta. It’s very close to everything you’d want to do as a tourist in Santa Marta, and Andrea was very helpful and responsive to us. The beaches in /near Rodadero are nicer than the the main Santa Marta beach but we spent most of our time touring in the area surrounding el parque de los novios and hiking around Tayrona. Would definitely stay here again

Very stylish space with fantastic AC (which is a blessing in Santa Marta). There are very cool pools around the location, plus it's very nearby the Marina which has many activities. We had a little trouble with the wifi but Leo IMMEDIATELY helped us out, and always followed up to make sure we were comfortable.

This place is great! Unbelievable location steps away from Parque de los Novios with all the best restaurants in town. Also steps from the beach to watch the beautiful sunsets. Three blocks from the Marsol depot where you get dropped off from Cartagena. No need for a taxi. Grocery store is a block away. Everything you need at the apartment. Fridge keeps your beer ice cold. AC works great for your siesta in the comfy hammock! Lots of fans. Guillermo was my host and was absolutely amazing. Made me feel right at home. He had amazing restaurant and beach suggestions and was quick to answer any questions that I had. Can't say enough about the host and the value! I'd stay here again in a second. Exceptional property, perfectly situated in Santa Marta close to history, food, and the beach. Sandra was very responsive and thought of everything, from restaurant suggestions to local activities. The rooms were very comfortably air-conditioned and common areas included many nice touches including books to browse and old furniture to admire. This is a very special listing and I recommend it enthusiastically if you want to have a great experience in Santa Marta.

You have everything here, basically. It is located just in front of the blue and sunny Santa Marta Bay, giving you the advantage of waking up and seeing the ocean as well as the sun set around 5pm. The hammock inside the room was a nice touch and the place has enough space to put your bags, a closet, refrigerator, balcony, small dining space and a small bathroom. I walked only 3 minutes and arrived the hot spot of the historic center, which has bars, local food, etc. The cleanliness was 10/10. If I come back to Santa Marta, I am staying here again.

We had a great time at Pieter and Aileen's place. They are very nice hosts, helpfull and disponible for anything you need. We definitively recommand this place in Santa Marta. Good location, close to the beach, center and bus stations.

We booked Pieters place just a couple of hours before we arrived in Santa Marta because another host canceled our stay. He replied super fast and was absolutely welcoming and communication was easy and perfect. His place is super well located and the kitchen has everything you need! :)thanks a lot for everything! We would definitely come back!

Unbeatable location. Very good disposition of Daniel and his uncle Pedro. The house is in a magnificent point of the city, close to success and in the center of the city, with the plus that it is not in the concentration of the hustle and bustle. The small detail that comes out of the host's hands is that Santa Marta has a water shortage problem. But Daniel was always aware so that this precious resource will not be missing in the house. I think it is the best value for money that can be found

This was well located not far from the parque de novios and the seafront. The apartment was clean and spacious. The bed comfortable. There was a good breeze with the balcony door open. No ac but the fan in the bedroom was adequate. Kitchen has what we needed to prepare our own food. The host was quick to respond and very courteous. We would definitely return if we are again in Santa Marta.

Everything was in order and it is also in the center of the city so it was very comfortable and cool to go out and walk through the center or the beach that is one block away. The location of Adrijanas place is absolutely perfect!! In the center and close to the beach the apartment was suited to our needs. Additionally the building is very secure if you had any doubt about the area.

This a a good inexpensive hostel. The bathrooms are shared. However the room is clean and comfortable. Breakfast was also simple and good.

Casa Baloo is a great place to stay. The beds are comfortable, everything is clean and the view is fantastic. I loved reading in the hammocks. They serve breakfast in the morning and you don't go away hungry. I had eggs, pancakes, fruit, juice and plenty of very good fresh brewed coffee. 5 minute walk to town and the beach. Sandra, the host is very sweet and always ready to help make your stay wonderful. The cook and maid is a very sweet lady too. I definitely recommend Casa Baloo.

One of the best places that I've stayed in the owner is very thoughtful, helpful, and the views are amazing. She took the time out of her day to drop us at the bus station. The location is so close to everything in town and right along the local bus. I'd highly recommend staying here if in Taranga.

Great space, easy to find and very clean rooms. Cold beer and coca-cola available, including one on the house upon arrival. Friendly staff - Patrick’s restaurant down the road was home to some of, if not the best food I enjoyed in Colombia. Easy walking distance to beaches. Taganga itself is a nice alternative to Santa Marta. More laid-back and no hustlers!

Casa Baloo is the perfect place to relax and enjoy Taganga. The staff was incredibly responsive and helpful, connecting me with a great driver, an awesome local spot trip to Tayrona, and hooking me up at breakfast. Everything about our stay at Cactus was wonderful. The room was exactly as advertised and very clean but what made our stay extra special was the staff. Every person that works there was incredibly hospitable and kind. They made us feel very comfortable and were willing to answer any questions about Santa Marta and surrounding areas. Incredible my stay in Santa Marta and a large part was for having stayed in Cactus. The place is much more beautiful than what is seen in the publication (and that the photos are very beautiful). A big surprise and good luck to have found this place. Great value for the price. The location is perfect to know the city on foot and it is easy to reach points of interest outside it. The attention is perfect, all the staff is very friendly and helpful, always attentive to your concerns and needs, as well as providing tourist recommendations that made my stay in Santa Marta a very pleasant experience. The most hospitable stay! From arranging an airport transfer prior to arriving through to checking out, the staff here were incredible. They went above and beyond when I had questions (and as a non-spanish speaking tourist on her first solo trip to Santa Marta, I had a lot!) The room was spacious and super comfortable. The pools were cool but perfect in the hot Santa Marta sun. Super close to all of the restaurants but just far away enough from all of the noise. Highly recommend. The staff here go above and beyond to make you feel at home.

Cactus was a lovely and clean oasis in the bustling centre of Santa Marta. The pool and rooftop lounges are lovely spots, and the staff is attentive and very friendly. They were so kind the afternoon we checked out, and let us shower after we went scuba diving while we were between accommodations. A short walk to the main strip, which is just perfect, as it’s not too loud.

Alberto is a great host. Gives us great tips for traveling in Colombia. He was very fast in answering to our questions and requests. We even left our luggage with him while traveling to Palomino. His recommendations were phenomenal. Our room had a beautiful sunset view. I recommend this place.

A wonderful place, very close to the sea and a very nice tourist area with good restaurants and wonderful bars. Who received us was very kind and helpful for our stay, he told us how to get to the market to take the bus to Tayrona for only 8,000 Colombian pesos. We appreciate the pleasant hosting and collaboration. We will return with pleasure.
