Beach
“Misty Cliffs is something of a magical little hamlet that is also a conservation village bordering on a nature reserve, a wonderful place to find peace and quiet and a spectacular setting at the best of times. The beach is not very big, but lovely for walking on, and really close to the larger and far more popular Scarborough beach, which is popular with surfers. During peak season it can become a little inundated, but nothing like the very fashionable Cape Town beaches on the Atlantic Seaboard. Take a drive along this stunning road, and if you enjoy to surf or kite board, this is a spot not to be missed.”

“A more classy restaurant which serves a good selection of food and has a modern setting with great views. Kids not so welcome as they cannot run around but a great scene for a romantic dinner. ”

“Yet another restaurant and a very good one too. We are blessed for choice in our village! Whole Earth is very highly rated on Trip Advisor. The service is very good and everyone is very kind. It's small and sweet and the food is exclusive and creative. I recommend it for a night out for couples or for a breakfast or tea and cake (amazing cakes!) for families. ”

“It is our big favourite. Events almost every night. Don't miss the Tuesday evening market from 6pm with fresh food and local stalls. And the mythical Sunday Fish Braai with free Jazz Session starting at 5:30pm. Concerts are also programmed every Saturday evening, with great bands from the Cape Town scene and beyond. The Camel has been around for 60 years. They also have a shop signed "Mickey Mouse Trap". It's sure small but very well stocked and some items are really well priced. The Camel Rock managers are connoisseurs of ethical foods and the produce that they serve in the restaurant is mostly organic. Children are very very welcome.”

“Steve and Juliet own a really fantastic little shop that stocks small and thoughtful locally crafted nik-naks. Dig a little deeper and you will find that they also specialise in African antiques and art from across the continent. Definitely worth a visit. Usually closed during winter or open by appointment only.”

“Laid back typical of the old Scarborough which has been overrun with the middle class now. Beautiful fresh fish on braai on Sunday late afternoons with live music. Kids can run and play while you have a slow drink and some very good value for money fresh fish.”
