  • We had a fantastic stay at the North Lighthouse Keeper's Cottage. It is a perfect remote family getaway. We spent our days on the beach (just a short walk), late afternoon enjoying the views from the patio, and then ventured out to bask under the beams of the lighthouse and the Milky Way late at night. We will definitely return!

  • A most marvelous spot for a quiet few days away. Or more if you can. Be sure to take all you need food-wise as there are no basic pantry items and the local general store is very general indeed. Go up to the lighthouse at night as well as the day.

  • Our two-night-stay at the lighthouse cottage was a wonderful, relaxing, memorable vacation! We loved the spaciousness and layout of the historic buildings, and the sweet personal touches added by the hosts, such as fresh lavender twigs on the towels provided. We felt like the keepers of the magical lighthouse, watching sunsets and the tides shifting on the beach below, cooking home-made meals in the kitchen, eating on the front porch with a great view and/or the wonderfully cool dining room. Thank you very much for stewarding an amazing place. We wish we could have stayed much longer!

  • We loved our time at the light house, it was a highlight of our trip to Australia. Exploring the coves and bay's surrounding the home was incredible, as was the wildlife. I can't recommend a visit here highly enough, just incredible.

  • We stayed at the North Cottage for 4 days/3 nights and absolutely loved it! Judy showed us around and gave us useful tips. The cottage itself was very spacious, clean, had a big front and back yard/garden and an amazing view overlooking the beach (perfect for watching the sunset on the patio). The cottage had everything we needed for our stay and it's only a short drive to Pacific Palms/Smiths Lake to get fresh food/veggies/etc. I had my family over from Europe and we definitely enjoyed staying at this amazing location. Can't wait to be back!

    Georg2015-03-31T00:00:00Z
  • This really is a magical spot! Staying in the lighthouse keeper's cottage was something special. You feel very close to nature here and over just one weekend we spotted a humpback whale, a dingo and a couple of pods of dolphins. The cottage itself is perfectly cosy for a cottage built in 1875, we were warm enough and the kitchen had everything we need to cook up a nice roast. Great experience! We'll be back

    Adam2015-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • A truly spectacular and unique property in easily the most beautiful part of the NSW coast. We took some family visiting from the UK and we couldn't have chosen better. The property is beautifully and thoughtfully furnished, the lighthouse at night is out of this world, and the views! there are no words. Thank you for such a smooth, hassle free stay at this amazing cottage. Bianca + Family

  • This was the highlight of our trip to Australia. The lighthouse is AMAZING! We really enjoyed the gorgeous accommodation and took advantage of the beaches that were just a short walk away. There were whales and dolphins visible from the shore and the water was amazing for a swim. One of the best places we've ever stayed.

  • My friend and I spent 2 nights at The Surfing Seal and absolutely loved our time there. The beds were incredibly comfortable (best sleep I've had in ages!) and the house was clean and spacious, with the separate bedrooms & bathroom across the porch perfect for large groups and kids. It rained for 2 out of the 3 days, but the gorgeous views made being stuck in doors an extremely relaxing and soothing experience. Great beaches and bushwalks! A really lovely location. Will definitely be back.

    Emma2015-01-30T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely relaxing time at Surfing Seal. The house is conveniently located near the store and beach. We loved the bush outlook from the deck and had the feeling to be away from it all. We will definitely try to go again.

  • The Surfing Seal is a lovely cottage in Seal Rocks with beautiful views across the bush and a 2 min walk to the beach. The house has a very comfy feel to it. There is no WiFi and reception with a mobile router is very slow.

    Christian 2015-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • The Surfing Seal is a great little retreat in a very special place. It's clean with modern fixtures and amenities. The kitchen works well and the living space is bright and open. The front deck looking over the forest is a great breakfast setting.

  • Case del Casson is a lovely house in a beautiful rainforest setting. It is very comfortable with a well-equipped kitchen. We cooked in for three nights and found everything we needed. It was a great base from which to to explore the Lakes region.

  • This magical cabin looks exactly like how it is picture in photos! It was clean and funky and allowed you to feel right at home. The area is peaceful and quiet and you are able to wake up hearing the birds outside. The cabin had everything we needed, would be a perfect winter getaway. I would definitely revisit.

    Olivia 2015-12-21T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was great, felt like we were in the middle of the forest! (Which we kind of were) comfy beds and couches, great facilities and great communications and help from Bryony (even to the point of sorting out some bed sheets after we had forgotten to take them!) thanks Bryony

    Ryan2015-04-18T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time in Smith's Lake, the log cabin was everything and more and we were so happy with the space and styling was just beautiful. We felt like we were in another world, plenty of board games for the kids when it rained and an awesome cafe down the road (best veggie burger I ever had) kids and hubby hired kayaks while I had some nice walks with the baby. Very relaxing! Host was fantastic even had a bottle of wine for us on arrival. Beautiful finishing touches made us feel like we had the royal treatment. Highly recommend if you are looking to disconnect from the rat race and be at one with nature, a nice way to rejuvenate and regenerate! No hesitations to come back!

    Shanda2015-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • We had a delightful stay in this charming cabin. The description and the pictures are on point. Was beautifully decorated. The living and dining area were light filled and breezy. The kitchen was well equipped in terms of cooking equipment, crockery and glasses and smartly looked out to the garden. Comfortable bedrooms and very clean bathroom. The clear instructions from the host made it a smooth arrival. Our only wish was that we could have stayed longer. Blissful stay and we would highly recommend as a place to relax and as a base to explore nearby beaches, lakes and bushwalks and local yoga classes.

    Amelia2016-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely and comfortable stay at Casa Del Casson over a long weekend. The Smiths Lake area is beautiful and quiet, yet close to great surf beaches and the resources / infrastructure of Forster. The cabin itself was very well appointed, smartly designed and we very much appreciated the welcome note identifying local amenities and bottle of wine.

  • Comfortable and relaxing. Peaceful location but not far from modern essentials (bacon and egg rolls just a short walk up the hill!) Definitely recommend as a more unique alternative weekend away.

My place is close to lake, shops, 5 minutes drive to the beaches. You’ll love my place because of the location, the ambiance, and the neighbourhood. two dining spaces, clean and tidy. abundance of bird life. walk to lake and shops. two decks to enjoy.
This is a well loved holiday house. Always owned by one owner and tastefully decorated to make your stay comfortable and relaxing. The beds are amazing and linen is provided.
This is a traditional holiday house with all the comforts of home located in the centre of the most popular holiday destination on the mid north coast. The stars at night are amazing. Wind down from the city stress and relax.
  • We had the best time in Smiths Lakes. The house was so clean, light and perfectly positioned in such a beautiful, tranquil serenity. Perfect place to stay for surfing, being halfway between boomerang beach and the beaches surrounding Seal rocks. The house has many places to chill out. It was so nice to be able to choose whether we wanted to eat inside or outside on the deck. Big bathroom- I enjoyed having a hot bath after surfing all day at the many surrounding beaches. The surrounding lake and beaches captured our hearts.. and the wildlife.. birds and lizards and kangaroos! magnificent. The Sunset over Smiths lakes was unbelievable. We all shared many memories there and will be sure to return again. Kerrie was a great host, very accomodating- Everything was so easy and organised.

Even Kerrie's house doesnt own a magnificient view, it is still nice to live with trees surroundings. The house is located in a very quiet street that is close to nature. Generally, a pleasant trip for our short holiday!

  • What a stunning weekend escape from the city! The loft gets beautiful morning and afternoon sunshine, is a quick walk to Smith's lake, and a short drive to some of the most beautiful beaches we've seen - Boomerang, Elizabeth, Cellitos, and more! We enjoyed waking up to the sounds of birds chirping and the stream flowing. The electric wok was perfect for cooking all of our meals. We can't wait to come back!

We were missing a few basic amenities like toilet paper and dishwashing liquid. But all in all it was an amazingly beautiful place

Seal Rocks is a sleepy little isolated beach town about 300 km north of Sydney. Its famous largely for its beautiful lighthouse and the sense of isolation it enjoys. A small road separates the town from the main road (Lakes Way) and has kept development at bay.
Not many bedrooms where you can lay in bed and watch whales travelling up the coast.
  • We spent five nights at Seal Rocks House with another family (9 guests in total) and in general loved it. The view is fabulous and makes a great backdrop for rest and relaxation. The house is well equipped, space is abundant and a 2 minute walk to beach access and less than 1 minute to Single Fin, the coffee van at the General Store. For the space and the view, the house is well priced per night, however I would suggest that the quality of linens, bathroom amenities, some general facilities (like the TV, DVD, clothes horse, sun loungers) could be improved upon. The house was generally clean and tidy, but floors and cobwebs were neglected. In general, the house is a comfortable temperature, but bedrooms could do with ceiling fans or quality pedestal fans. It would be nice to have A/C in one space to avoid the heat on above average hot days. It isn't a very baby / toddler friendly home with a lots of stairs and a few accident risk areas. Peter is a great host who communicates well and is very quick to respond.

  • The town is beautiful, peaceful and laid back. The house and its location are absolutely superb. Right opposite a quiet beach and surrounded by rain forest. Very spacious and relaxing. And when it's windy u can walk to the amazing beach directly behind.

  • Peter was very responsive and helpful to us. The pictures don't do it justice... the place was stunning and offered a completely relaxing weekend! I'd go back in a heartbeat!

  • Amazing place with spectacular view over Seal Rocks. Saw dolphins splashing about within the first five minutes of arriving. Peter was a great host and answered all my questions promptly and the check-in process was seamless. Would absolutely stay here again!

  • The house was one of the best in sea rocks if not the best. Great views from every window and 50m to the beach and 50m to the coffee shop, perfect!! really relaxing where you can watch the surf from the lounge room, kitchen and all bedrooms Jace

  • This house was incredible! We loved Seal Rocks, we loved the location and we loved the house. Peter was over-the-top accommodating on check-in and check-out, as well as very responsive when we had questions. The bedrooms are not pictures but they are very nice. I highly, highly recommend !

  • Amazing location for a family/group gathering with children. Park nearby and gentle beach area were great. House is very comfortable and has all the facilities you could possibly need. Yvonne was an amazing host.

    Manda 2017-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • Location is really good right opposite the lake. The area is a bit too hilly for bikes so they are not really suitable.

    Denise2017-01-15T00:00:00Z
  • Yvonne made us feel very welcome from the moment we arrived ,very approachable and friendly .Serendipity was the perfect holiday home ,beautiful and very comfortable to stay in, the out door area's were great to relax on. All in all the whole holiday was perfect ,we would recommend Serendipity to everyone.

  • Yvonne was very helpful and responsive. Location of the house is fantastic - can't really do it justice in photos. Highly recommended. We had a lovely time - there were 10 of us. Just one thing to be aware of is that noise travels very easily in the house so if there are a lot of you, you can hear everything - snoring etc!! Anyway, we had a great time and would thoroughly recommend it. Yvonne also said we were welcome to stay a bit later than the check out time because the cleaners came in later and that made a huge difference - we weren't rushing on our last day and could really enjoy our long weekend away. Thank you!

    Victoria2016-03-30T00:00:00Z
  • We loved this house. With plenty of open space for our children play. Nice new kitchen. Beautiful windows with beautiful views. Peaceful and scenic location.

    Leah2017-06-12T00:00:00Z
  • The house was perfect for our family and guests, it was clean and nicely setup. Everything was great and we will return again.

  • Lovely location and a wonderful spacious home with everything you could possibly need. Thank you for providing a home big enough where all our family could be together for our weekend. Best Wishes.

    Ellie2016-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • My partner and I stayed at Serendipity from Thursday lunch to Sunday afternoon while our friends came on Friday night and stayed till Sunday afternoon. 5 of us overall. The overall experience was excellent and just what we were looking for. The weekend for us was a meditation retreat and I think Yvonne should change the name of the house from Serendipity to Serenity because it is one of the most beautiful and tranquil locations you will find. We immediately felt the calm hit us as we got out of the car and when you go to the lake, you don't really see other signs of life because houses are not right on the beach so you do feel like you are out in the bush while still in civilisation. We really loved that aspect of Smiths Lake. The house was just as it is on the Airbnb site and was very clean. Even though it is pet friendly, I didn't notice any pet smells at all. We were greeted with a nice vanilla smell from incense, there was cold water and milk in the fridge and some basic food items like tea, condiments, etc. Communication with Yvonne was excellent and at all times, I felt she had our best interest at heart. She refunded some of our money when less people were some of our friends decided not to come down. If you love birds especially kookaburras and magpies you will definitely like Serendipity as they come very close in order to wait for your food scraps. The location is brilliant. The house is big enough for a few families. Within a stone's throw, you have the lake, Frothy's Boathouse for coffee and boat hire, the playground and benches to eat outside. Get in your car for five minutes and you have four beaches to explore, Boomerang Beach is my favourite, Elizabeth Beach for families and a bit further away, Booti Booti National Park for hiking. The area is serene, the house is great value and all the people who went with us had a particularly relaxing and enjoyable time.

An outdoor shower helps to wash off the white sand of local beaches, when you return from a surf. Our full kitchen with granite bench tops, has a double oven, microwave, kettle, toaster, mixer, coffee machine, cutlery, crockery, cooking utensils etc. A gas BBQ, 32 inch TV/DVD, sound deck, board games, jigsaws and a diverse book and DVD library are available for guest use during their stay. There's undercover parking for your car and an off-street area for a boat.
The calm, clear waters of lake beaches are within a 300m stroll of DRIFT offering hours of fun and safe bathing for children. Alternatively, you can scoot across the lake to Sandbar, or Cellito beach, with your kayak or surfboard. Stroll down to the local "Frothy Coffee" boashed cafe and enjoy a latte or lunch. Here you can also hire a catamaran or kayak to visit the lake islands or explore and fish the lake. Nearby Sandbar also offers a short 9-hole golf course, or alternatively there's 18 hole courses in Forster. A 5 minute drive will bring you to the white-sand beaches and renown surf breaks at Bluey's and Boomerang, as well as the child-friendly Elizabeth beach. Seal Rocks, a 20 minute drive, also offers great surf breaks ( Lighthouse and Treachery), wondrous rock pools and sheltered swimming bays backing onto national parks. Seal Rocks is also a spectacular underwater diving and caving location. Perhaps you'll choose to pack a picnic and meander some of the many walking trails to the lookouts in the Booti Booti National Park, or visit the Lighthouse at Seal Rocks. Another day you could stand in awe under the tallest tree in NSW growing in the nearby Wallinghat National Park. For drinks or a meal, stroll to cafes in Smiths Lake or venture out to restaurants and cafes at nearby Blueys beach, Elizabeth Beach or visit the "Reckie," a great place to watch the colours change over the lake at sunset. Forster (20 minute drive to the north), offers a cinema complex, numerous restaurants catering to a variety of preferences, a couple of large shopping centres, dolphin watching cruises, sea-kayak adventures, and a couple of children's theme parks. At DRIFT you might just prefer to put your feet up and relax with some music, read a book , or watch a DVD. Maybe you'll do some drawings of the abundant bird life ( azure kingfishers, scrub turkeys, kookaburras, pelicans and black swans) or just dose-off to the distant rhythm of waves breaking on the sandbar. If your keen to slow down with some sun and sea, come and DRIFT.
  • We loved our stay at Drift. Mary's house is clean and beautifully decorated with love. The photos don't do this house justice. Smiths Lake is very peaceful and we loved the location as well as the water glimpses from the deck. We hope to come back and stay again in the future. Thanks Mary.

    Marta2017-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Drift is a terrific little place in a lovely area of Smiths Lake. Mary is a great host and has provisioned the place really well. It's clean and comfortable and has everything you need (including the kitchen if you like to cook). Best suited for couples or small families. I highly recommend.

    Rody2018-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • Set in a peaceful location with a lovely view. The host left some lovely welcoming touches and the place was very clean. If you are after somewhere to relax and wind down then be sure to consider DRIFT.

    Amanda2018-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • 'Drift' is a wonderful holiday house and so close to the lake and the ocean. If it is your intention to take a break, recharge your batteries or do some exploring then this location is just perfect. The afternoon sea breezes were just sublime and we took advantage of the patio to offer up a libation to Mary for allowing us to stay. We're definitely planning a return trip sometime soon.

  • Wow I cannot express to you enough just how AMAZING Rob and Marzena's beautiful home is and just how great they are for hosts. I used my birthday as the perfect excuse to get out of the city for a few days to just relax and have some time out in a beautiful setting but this exceeded the already high hopes I had. Firstly, the photos do not do it justice, the studio is HUGE. The ceilings are really high and you will spend just as much time on the balcony as you will inside. The decor and the finishings are so tasteful - the Noguchi coffee table is definitely my favourite! You will have everything you need and the studio is FLAWLESSLY clean. Rob and Marzena are just the kindest people, they even made me birthday cake which they surprised me with! They are so thoughtful and welcoming and they were there to help if I needed anything or some advice with things to see and do around the area. This is the type of place that makes you feel really grateful and glad that you found. Waking up every day to the beauty of the trees and gorgeous lake that you are situated on is heaven. And enjoying a glass of wine on the verandah every evening is the perfect way to end the day. There is so much to do in the area that you will never be at a loss and you will always be smiling and inspired. Thank you both so so so much for the wonderful stay, I can't wait to return again!

    Alexandra2012-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Smiths Lake was great! Rob & Marzena are very kind and helpful. They do everything so that their gueste are happy. Rob even showed us the area around Smiths Lake. He drove us to Seal Rocks and a few other beaches. We also got a freshly angled fish as a present. Thank you! We were upgraded to their second and larger property so we can't say much about this one. But we expect that the smaller one is as beautiful as the other. Rob built the house himself. First we thought the both are architects because the flat we stayed in is very nice. The property is at the waterfront. Thus you can go for a swim or a paddle in the lake. The price for the accomandation is a very very good offer.

    Julian2013-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • Smiths Lake House is great. There's a beautiful view of the lake, and it's nestled in amongst the trees. The studio was clean and had everything we needed. Rob and Marzena are lovely. They were helpful and available but they also gave us space and privacy. Three nights was great and we could have stayed longer.

    Samuel2013-04-07T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Rob and Marzena's place on Smith's Lake was beautiful and restful. They have created a real haven and a home away from home but with so many special touches. Life by the lake was so easy with everything provided at the flick of a switch. Rob and Marzena were very approachable and flexible ensuring that our stay was a good one. We will certainly recommend such a pleasant experience to our friends.

    Susan2013-04-26T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing view, beautiful space. Just what was needed! Really enjoyed our stay, very reasonable rates, very helpful hosts! Hope to come back sometime!

    Kylie2013-06-03T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing place! So calm, peaceful, on the shore of the lake and hidden in the bush. Close to the beaches, great cafes. Thank you so much! I really enjoy my stay and would very highly recommend to everyone!

  • Rob's studio is simply gorgeous. Comfortable, beautifully furnished, immaculately clean, and with a stunning view of the lake. Rob and his partner were super helpful and friendly, and we felt very, very comfortable and quite at home. We only stayed a couple of days, but we regret not having booked a longer trip. I would recommend staying with Rob to anyone, and we would love to visit again!

    Alex2011-12-20T00:00:00Z
  • This is a very peaceful location overlooking Smiths Lake. We stayed in the Studio which had everything we needed and was nicely decorated. The bed was very comfortable and the deck spacious. Rob and Marzena are great hosts.

  • Rob and Marzena were great hosts! It was seam less to arrange our stay with them, the pavilion and Marzena were very welcoming when we arrived and although it was only a quick stop over, we would come back and stay again.

    Melanie2014-04-19T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was as described and shown in the photos. A very well thought out apartment connected to the Hosts house, yet quiet and private. Wonderful views just beckoning us out to the lake, it's such a shame the weather was horrendous for our 3 night stay, however it was still lovely to watch the wild weather from the comfortable sofa. The apartment can get cold but the heaters & reverse cycle aircon warm things up pretty quickly. There is a basic kitchen provided & a bar fridge which we found a bit small given the remoteness of the location ( there is a small local store a few mins drive away) We felt is was fantastic value for the views and quality of the apartment.

    Rebecca2014-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • This was our 3rd stay at the lovely Smiths Lake House. Once again Rob & Marzena welcomed us like family and made us feel very special. We will be visiting them again.

  • We had a wonderful stay - beautiful even in the middle of winter in July. Rob was a great host and went out of his way to help my daughter and I get onto the lake in a kayak, give us whale watching tips and make us feel welcome - thanks for a gorgeous time.

    Monique2012-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • You will instantly love this space as soon as you open the door. Marzena and Rob have put a lot of thought into creating every aspect of this space, for your comfort and enjoyment. We spent 4 days here and enjoyed its light and relaxing space, from the open shower bathroom to the large deck and a hammock to hide away and read in. The kitchen is very well equipped and there is a gas BBQ if you don’t fancy eating out close by.

    Rebecca2017-12-05T00:00:00Z

  • Ann's house was perfect for us and our 2 dogs. We had a very relaxing time and enjoyed the beautiful rainforest views over the back deck. The deck was a secure place to leave the dogs if we had to. The house was beautiful, clean and comfortable, and had everything we needed.

  • The pictures on the website don't do justice for this house. We had the most wonderful time during our weekend there. The residence was very comfortable and it exceeded our expectations with excellent kitchen, living area and bedrooms. Great value for money and would certainly recommend!

  • Our stay at Smiths Lake was perfect. Our house was a dream come true, a beautiful view, a gorgeous kitchen to cook in and just a five minute walk from the lake. We had the most incredible, relaxing three days, we could have stayed for a month.

    Catherine2017-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • Took the family here for a wedding out in Seal rocks. This location was close by and the house was large enough to accommodate 4 adults. Communication between us and the host was fine via email and everything went smoothly. Having internet access would have been nice but not a deal breaker. Enjoyed our stay here in a spacious, clean home in Smith Lakes.

    Charles2016-09-04T00:00:00Z

Welcome to Smitties! It is a gorgeous, spacious, character filled romantic three bedroom cottage surrounded by bush and only a 3 hour drive from Sydney. The cottage is nestled in the beautiful rainforest of Smiths Lake and is surrounded by palm trees and towering gum trees. This means there is an abundance of native bird and wildlife to watch, you can enjoy nature at its purest. It is intimate and cosy yet has many different spots to relax in.....together or in privacy.
Perfect Couples Retreat The cottage is light, bright and tastefully furnished in the French shabby chic style, there are a mixture of antiques as well to add to the glamour and romance.

The host had provided everything for our convenience, comfort and fun. He made us feel very welcome and at home. The table tennis and pool table added extra fun for the youngens. The area around has something for everyone, beaches to surf and peaceful lakes and walks everywhere. The views from the house are true to the name of the house.. they are actually grand:) It certainly made my Grans birthday very special. We would definitely love to stay there again. Thanks Angelo!!!

  • We stayed at the house for two nights as a large group during uni break- the house has the most stunning views of the sandbar and the area is lovely and peaceful (felt like we had the whole place to ourselves!). The house had plenty of room and was well provided with towels, linen and dishwashing supplies. The balcony was a real winner with lovely dinners overlooking the lake. Would also recommend a trip down to Boomerang Beach: absolutely stunning!

    Sarah2017-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • The house is amazing with a beautiful view, perfect for large groups since its very big and comfortable. Very well located, with Seal Rocks, Blueys and Boomerang Beach 10/15 min drive. Everything is shown as in the pictures, the only thing that's missing is the ping pong table but the host was really responsive and quickly explain that it had broken.

  • My family and I just spent a week at Grandview's. The house is better than described. The kids had a great time in the games room and playing in the backyard which is spacious and full of beautiful birds. The house is clean and well equipped. Like others we had all of our meals out on the balcony enjoying the beautiful view of the beach lake and bush. It is only a short drive to a range of beaches where it's all busy at this time of year making it so great to return to the peace of smiths lake. Thank you Angelo

  • The stay was amazing. Terri was extremely nice and helpful to us. It was so easy for us to communicate with her. The house contained basically everything we needed. The kitchen had everything. The living room had 100+ movies, around 20 board games and playing cards. It was hard to be bored in the house. Terri supplied kayaks and canoes, which was really nice of her. Not to mention, the scenery was excellent. A good place to just sit on the veranda and look onto the lake. A calming place to do yoga. The house was a less than a minute walk away from the lake, where you can kayak, canoe and fish.

Experience the most incredible 180 degree North views across the crystal clear water of Boat Beach. Sit and watch the endless dolphins and sea action all day, every day. This recently renovated house is regarded as one of the best in Seal Rocks
Norma's is one of the premier beach houses in Seal Rocks with incredible ocean views towards Smiths Lake, Boomerang each, Blueys beach and beyond. The house is situated right on tranquil Boat beach - so close you can nip back to the house for extra ice for your G&T on the beach as the sun sets. The house is recently fully renovated and features a brand new kitchen completed in April 2015 with Meile appliances, stainless and Ceasarstone bench tops. Opposite the kitchen is a dining room with an dining table to seat 6. A comfortable lounge room with plasma TV and DVD player overlooks 180 degree views of boat beach all the way to Smiths Lake, Blueys and the headlands of Boomerang Beach, Forster and beyond. The house has wireless internet and a Sonos music system with Spotify providing access to millions of songs and digital radio through out the house. A large balcony provides peaceful and protected seating whilst soaking up the tranquil views (including an outdoor setting for 8 people). A large lawn area on around the house provides place for the kids to play. Out the back is an bbq and paved area leading onto another grassed play area. This area looks back onto the National Parks bush The house has two new bathrooms each with toilet and shower. The laundry includes new front loading washing machine and dryer. The bunk room with 2 bunks (4 beds) is a separate pavilion meters from the back door of the main house Stairs provide quick access to Boat Beach. The shop is 100m up the road and Number 1 beach and Lighthouse beaches are both also within walking distance. Treachery and Yagon are up the road. Location Seal Rocks is around three hours drive north of Sydney and remains unspoilt and virtually unchanged by time. Surrounded by Myall Lakes national park the area is known for its pristine beaches, fantastic fishing, spectacular diving, and breathtaking coastline. Seal Rocks is the perfect getaway. Seal Rocks also provides easy access to the Great Lakes and scenic regional towns including Smiths Lake, Blueys Beach, Boomerang Beach, Pacific Palms and Forster. Booti Booti National Park is a short (15 minute) drive and is highly recommended as is the Wallingat National Park -including Wallingat creek if you have a small boat/dingy and incredible veiws from Whooti Whooti look out. There is good mountain biking in the fire trails and gravel roads around Seal Rocks and the nearby national parks - ask the owner for a few tips. You can also arrange to go shark diving where you are collected from Boat Beach at Seal Rocks **Please see Extra Details should you require linen as is not included in price but can be arranged for $35 per bed.
Seal Rocks has some of the most pristine beaches in the world. There are 3 beaches less than 1km from the house (walking distance) and 2 other beaches within a 5 minute drive. Boat Beach and Number 1 Beach are the nearest to the village and are great beaches for kids. Lighthouse and Treachery Beach are the main surf beaches although Number 1 also has waves in the right (Northerly or big SE) conditions. You can drive a 4WD onto Lighthouse Beach. Yagon is at the end of our road and is less frequently visited so can be quieter. It also has surf and you are more likely to get a wave on your own here. Did I mention surfing? Well the best thing about Seal Rocks is that its on the end of a Peninsula. That means, whatever winds are thrown at you, you'll probably find somewhere good to get a wave and surf. There is plenty of rock and beach fishing on many of the beaches. Boats can access the deep water fishing by launching from Boat Beach (requires good conditions).
  • The perfect beach house on of the best beach towns in the state. All the luxuries without the pretension. We had a magical time.

    Van2017-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect for us... Great place for kids. Close to shops and beach.

    Mac2017-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • Norma's is a really great beach house in the secluded hamlet of Seal Rocks. Set in an elevated position is a stylish home that was once probably a humble beach shack. Nice and remote, but close to some of the nicest surf beaches in NSW. The host Nicky is easy to deal with and check in is smooth. We used this as a perfect break on the way to Byron Bay.

    Anton2016-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • Thanks for a wonderful stay at Norma's. The house is exactly as it is described. Everything is in perfect condition and the house is beautiful, light, airy and clean. We loved the location, right across the road from lovely Boat Beach, and the views from the house are beyond amazing. The hosts provided all the information we needed. It's the perfect getaway from Sydney for a few days so we would love to go again.

    Kate2016-03-11T00:00:00Z

  • Definitely one of the best houses and spots in Seal Rocks. The view is out of this world with a great outdoor deck to watch the dolphins swim by and to feed the resident Kookaburra. • Aquarius is a wonderful property with magnificent views across Smiths lake to the ocean. The house is quite unique and blends a combination of sophisticated high end design along with a welcoming homely and 'beachy' feel. Bronwyns communication ahead of our stay was excellent, she sent us a very useful fact sheet about our arrival times and how to collect the keys. On arrival the local real estate agent met us promptly at the property and showed us where everything was located. The house was very clean and tidy and the bedrooms were fresh and airey. The kitchen is very well equipped with high end appliances and enough cookware to make cooking easy. The lounge and dining area have louvre windows which give a nice cross-breeze on even the hottest of days, and theres a terrific verandah with a snazzy Ziegler and Brown BBQ which made for some memorable evenings eating outside. Before our stay I had asked Bronwyn if there was an outside tap we could use to wash down our boat and ski equipment after a day on the lake - when we arrived Bronwyn had made sure that there was new hose and spray nozzle waiting for us. Thank you Bronwyn, very considerate! We loved staying at Aquarius and will be booking another trip at the earliest opportunity.

  • Our family have just spent a wonderful 10 days holiday at Aquarius, Smiths Lake. The views, which change with the tides, are spectacular. The house is spacious, with plenty of room for six adults, and well equipped with all the essentials needed to self-cater. The location is ideal – it is a walk to the shops or down to the lake and the Frothy Coffee Boatshed and it is only a short drive to Sandbar Golf course and the beaches – our favorites were Elizabeth Beach and Cellito Beach, with its boardwalk through the rainforest. Arrival arrangements went smoothly and we were provided with plenty of information both before our stay and at the house.

    Patty2016-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely weekend in Smiths Lake and really enjoyed the house. It is truly amazing with the view and the large dining/living room. As someone said in the previous reviews, the pictures don't do justice to the place. Everything went well and both Bronwyn and David the real estate agent were very helpul/accommodating. You can definitely rent this house for a weekend or more; you won't be disappointed at all.

    Laure2015-06-09T00:00:00Z
  • House is great, location great, close to shop (walk), lake, very close drive to few great beaches (Sand Bar, Cellito, Boomerang and Blueys, Elizabeth beach). Shops have great food for kids. House is has everything or needs, clean and very spacious and comfortable with great views. Highly recommend.

  • We had a great time at Aquarius. The house is large, well equipped, very clean and user friendly for a family. Great views too! Location is very convenient to Forster, and the other beaches.

  • This was an amazing spot, the photos don't do the house justice. Immaculate design and spectacular views, short walk to the shops and quick drive to Blueys & Boomerang Beach. We were met with keys on arrival and there was a plenty of information in a booklet. Wifi is always a bonus.

    Neil2015-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • It was our first time to Smiths Lake and we had the most wonderful time. The house is truly amazing, the picture do not do it justice. Huge living/dining room with views over the lake. It feels as though you are living in the treetops as it is so quiet and peaceful. We look forward to staying again.

    Sophie2015-01-08T00:00:00Z
  • Aquarius is a beautiful location, a beautifully appointed house, and you will feel like you are on holiday the minute you walk through the door. We stayed here during a week of torrential rain and wind, however the views are so lovely and ever-changing and the house so comfortable, that it didn't dampen our spirits too much. Communication with Bronwyn was easy and it is a pleasure to give this review. Love to come back to enjoy some outdoor activities in the sun.

  • This place is perfect for those who want to be immersed in nature and surrounded by that rainforest feel. We even got to feed some friendly lorikeets! There was so much to do at this place! Pool, video games, hammocks, a fire pit and a hot tub!! It had it all, so we never ran out of entertainment! The place is tucked away which is great for privacy and tranquility but if you want food/drink etc, best to buy everything before you arrive. All condiments and sauces were provided and kitchen was fully stocked with appliances and crockery so we had everything! The house has a lot of space, bedrooms and bathrooms so is perfect for a group or couples getaway. Thank you for a wonderful stay - I strongly recommend this place to all :)

  • Really Enjoyed our stay here. Phil was great with communication, and made everything so easy. Such a beautiful house, with nice little touches. Right next to a little stream, which was so nice to walk to. Very clean and modern facilities.

  • Great house catering for our party of 7 adult couples and 2 kids. Big bedrooms, clean, comfortable and perfectly located to take in all that pacific palms has to offer.

  • Place was perfect for a getaway. It had everything we needed. I wish I spent more time in the hot tub. Definitely recommend.

  • We had a very memorable stay and this property was the perfect location for a nice weekend away from the city with our close friends. Phil was a great host and made sure we weren't looked after. The property was great for our group of 8 people (4 couples) we all had our own bedroom and there was multiple areas where we could wine and dine together. The kitchen is a very open space and it Was nice to do some cooking with our friends; whilst drinking a bottle of red and listening to some music streaming from the smart television (wifi provided). The spa was the perfect spot to socialise with our group and wind down over the weekend. Close by was the fire pit which added that winter warmth. Behind the pit was also a great deck area which the yogis of our group found great to do their morning yoga sessions amongst the rainforest. All in all - it was perfect and it exceeded our expectations. We will definitely be coming back!

    Smiths Lake, NSW, Australia

Lakeside at Smiths makes the most of its lakefront setting with double height windows throughout the main living area and a huge deck providing stunning views . The house is in a natural bush setting and a private 50m track takes you directly to a sandy beach front. It's perfect for summer with swimming at your door, and great in winter with a cosy combustion wood fire.
This is a unique property - the living space is set up with comfortable sofas, TV, dining table in it's own window-side nook and opens out directly onto the huge deck. There are 3 bedrooms - one queen downstairs, and upstairs is another queen plus a 3rd bedroom which has a double bed and a single bed (+trundle). All bedrooms have lake views. One bathroom is upstairs and one is downstairs. The kitchen is well-equipped with plenty of cooking equipment as well as serving things. We also have a BBQ and an outdoor dining setting for the deck. The house has a bit of quirky castle feel to it - added bonus!
Smiths Lake is a not so well known gem. It's situated between Blueys Beach and Seal Rocks so as well as having direct access to the lake, you have a number of world famous beaches within a 10 minute drive.
  • The house is the perfect escape. Being the beginning of Winter we were able to make the most of clear days kayaking on the lake and exploring the surrounding area and by night we cooked and sat by the fire which Gabby kindly provided wood for. Thanks for your hospitality, Gabby. Would love to return in Summer!

    Emily2017-06-01T00:00:00Z
  • The photos do not do this place justice-it is even better in person! The house is fantastic with lots of space, cool decor, large deck, comfy beds and more. Great host as well. Gabby was very accomodating and helpful. BEAUTIFUL location. Everything A++++. Can't wait to come back!!

    Brittney2018-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing castle looking like home with everything you could need to keep adults and kids happy. The closeness to the lake and beaches made every day a different adventure. Calm and quiet environment only "disrupted" by beautiful birds and possums happy to be fed. We are already planning our return. Thanks for everything Gaby!!!

    Cristina2017-04-25T00:00:00Z
  • We spent a week at Gabby's place and had the most fantastic time. Would highly recommend for families in winter or summer. The wood fire kept the house toasty in the evenings and the view of the lake is stunning. We had everything we needed for nights in: lots of cookware and kitchen utensils, entertainment system with chrome cast so we could stream Netflix and Stan from our phones or iPad, good sound system and a TV with DVD player in the kids room. The local area has lots to offer. We took a boat out on the lake ($60ph from the local cafe, Frothee Coffee). Lots of water activities to choose from such as kayaking and fishing. Gabby had all the equipment available for us to use. Forster is a 25 min drive away so we visited the markets and had lunch at a lovely oyster restaurant in Tuncurry. Blueys and Boomerang Beach are both a 10 min drive away and are gorgeous beaches. The only thing we didn't get the chance to do is use the outdoor deck area and BBQ at the house which, in the summer, would be pretty amazing with the sunsets over the lake. Looking forward to visiting again in the future!

  • Fantastic base for a trip away with friends. Perfectly located between beautiful beaches and the lake, we enjoyed a wonderful stay here. The kitchen is completely kitted out so we cooked up a storm, dining outside with the Kookaburra's for beeaky and lunch, and inside by the fire for dinner. Exceptionally comfortable beds and pillows, great water pressure and 4 reccliners for our movie night -it was just like being at home. Looking forward to returning.

  • The place was clean and well looked after, very comfortable and spacious. It is very close to the water with a cafe and boat rental at the end of the street, it’s a quick drive to various shops which have everything you’d need. Maree was a fantastic host- the information provided was spot on, and the communication was fast and easy.

  • Fantastic location and a great home for a holiday. A very short stroll to the lake and Frothy's cafe on the water where you can hire kayaks, catamarans, tummies and SUPs. Sunsets across the lake were simply stunning. Great tips and a friendly welcome from Maree. We plan to come back!

    Hayley2018-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • Just returned from a wonderful weekend at Cest La Vie. Maree was an absolute pleasure to deal with and was super quick with all communication. The cottage is in a beautiful location, and has pretty much everything you could need. The fireplace was great (and essential in July!) and kept the whole cottage warm and toasty for hours. The loft bedroom was just lovely! In the area 'Takeaway at Smiths Lake' had great coffee, pizza and meal options, plus there is also a bottle shop, bakery and convenience store. If you're looking for a quiet, relaxing, lakeside holiday location that's still close enough to good food and coffee, then we'd highly recommend Cest La Vie. Thanks again Maree!

    Smiths Lake, NSW, Australia

Lumina is a stylish bit of housing on the waterfront of the beautiful Smiths Lake. The building is all about embracing nature, with views of the surrounding trees available from all rooms. Separate pavilions spread the house over two levels, with the three bedrooms and two bathrooms in the upper section. Following the covered stairway down to the spacious deck and open plan living space where the rich greenery will surround you.
The entire house has been meticulously designed to maximise your enjoyment of the surrounding environment, and ensure that any time you spend here, will be spent well. The 'living' pavilion is an open plan space, with a modern kitchen, dining area and lounge all flowing together perfectly. Included in the kitchen is a dishwasher, Nespresso machine (coffee pods provided), oven, saucepans, microwave and all that jazz. The entertainment options include a built in sound system (indoor and outdoor speakers), flat screen TV, DVD/Video/Media player with loads of content and a range of DVDs for adults and kids. Unfortunately due to the lack of a phone line (soon to be rectified) the internet is limited in the house (soon to be rectified). The large open deck is perfect for dining, reading and entertaining (however there are no guardrails, so small children should be supervised at all times). An outdoor table for 6 invites alfresco dining, and the outdoor chimera fire pit will keep you warm in the winter months. Please pull the butterfly chairs outside to enjoy the dappled sunshine with a good book and watch the birds fly by. In the upstairs pavilion there are three bedrooms, with the main on one side and the other two on the other. The main bedroom features a queen bed, built in wardrobe, and a full bathroom with a large bath. Full windows and louvres allow the lake breeze to flow through and offer an unparalleled view of the lake through the trees. The second and third bedrooms both have double beds and built in wardrobes. The bathroom features a spacious shower, toilet and a cupboard laundry with washing machine. The lake is a short (but slightly step) walk from the house, and is perfect for a nature walk. This end of the lake is quite shallow, so swimming is best done at the beach near the boat ramp. Dogs are welcome at Lumina, however they must be under control at all times and kept inside at night - we have possums, bandicoots and other wildlife as our neighbours and have to be sure that they are not harmed or disturbed. Please bring your dog's bed with you and keep them off the couch and beds. All poop should also be collected before you go!
Smiths Lake is a gorgeous village on the lake, with a relaxed and welcoming vibe. There is a small strip of shops on the main street, featuring a bakery, bottleshop, butcher, mini market, and take away shop. More shops and a couple of cafes are available at Pacific Palms (about a 6 minute drive away), while Forster (30 mins drive) features a large shopping centre with Coles, Woolworths etc. The lake is a very calm place to swim for smaller children with the best access being next to the boat shed and ramp. We have a couple of kayaks which you are welcome to use and which are fantastic for exploring the lake. The Frothy Coffee Cafe and boat shed also hires out kayaks, motor boats and catamarans. The surf beaches of Seals Rock, Cellito Sands, Blueys and Boomerang are all a short drive away.
  • I really enjoyed our stay at Lumina. It's a beautifully designed house in a lovely setting. Falling asleep and waking up to the sound of bird song is only one of its many charms. The house is only a short driving distance to some of the areas best surf beaches. A great find! I highly recommend staying there.

  • Amber's house is lovely. Nestled right in nature, we enjoyed bird watching and sitting out on the patio. The light though the house is lovely and the bedrooms are delighful and cosy. A great, relaxing weekend away.

    Sarah2017-12-04T00:00:00Z
  • Amber was friendly and well communicated. The house situated in a lovely and quiet location just by the smiths lake. It has beautiful view of lakes from the bedroom and living area. The house is equipped of nearly everything that is needed. We enjoyed our stay overall. Beach was only a short drive away and we were pleasant to find a strip of local shops and restaurants near the beach area.

    Clara2015-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • Amber was a lovely host answering all our questions and the home was as cosy as the photos. The house is a pretty cool home nestled within walking distance of the lake and amongst these amazing huge trees. The view is lush. Kitchen was very well equipped. Sadly, we happened to stay here during a week of torrential rain but the entertainment system and open space came in handy for our 1 yr old to practise her walking skills ;) Advice I'd provide to future guests, note that you do have an open air set of stairs between the living area and bedrooms (as in the pics). The master bedroom has the bathtub and is in a diff section from the other 2 bedrooms. Those going during cooler weather, bring some socks or slippers for the wooden floor. For those going with a young child, a baby monitor will help avoid darting up and down to check on them during sleeps like we did!

    Peter2015-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely time at Lumina, Smiths Lake. The location is very peaceful and the lake itself was beautiful in the backyard. Great place to cosy up in winter! Communication with Amber was very easy! Thanks so much!

  • Amber was very lovely and easy to communicate with. As she does not reside on the property access and check in/ check out was very simple and the house was very private. Modern design beautiful outlook we loved waking up to green and bush in the mornings! Directly on the lake so easy access for swimming kayaking and SUP. Kitchen very well equipped, spacious and modern. We will definitely be back we loved it here!!

  • An excellent place to stay. Very well set up and a smooth visit - we didn't even need to meet the host. As well as being a beautiful house and location, lots of little things made a difference - like coffee for the caffeine addicts. Highly recommended.

  • Another great experience. Came back for the second time with the family and it was another awesome weekend. The house is great to relax, go for a tour in the paddle boats or just enjoy the trees around. At the same time great place to explore the surrounding beaches.

  • We had a great stay at Brae Villa. The place was perfect for two large families getting together for a break. The view was amazing, straight on to the lake, and the modern open plan was easy to cook all meals and spend time together. The house is very well equipped and we were constantly suprised by detail and generousity of small things like board games, a well fitted laundry and cooking essentials in the pantry. Rob, the house manager was friendly, helpful and very understanding of us all. Absolutley reccomend.

  • Lovely large and open house, fit 8 adults comfortably. Very clean and communication made the stay a breeze. The most beautiful sunset right from the back deck, we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back again.

  • Beautiful house with amazing views, the sunsets were out of this world! There were only a few cleanliness issues with dirty plates, underwear under one of the beds from previous guests and pet hair on the bedroom floor. The cleaners could do with being a little more thorough. Apart from that there was great communication with the manager of the accomadation and we had a fantastic time. Thank you for a great stay!

  • Amazing experience!!! Best house. Great view.

  • This house was amazing, amazingly clean, modern and amazing view from almost all the rooms. Quite close to everything, local beach and cafe are great. Beautiful lake is shallow enough for kids to wade and play in. The lake is so peaceful and gorgeous, we could look at it all day from the house, especially the sunset, it made the view like an amazing picture. Two things that prevented our stay from being a five star experience. 1: access to the lake from the house was quite difficult, at least for seniors and kids. I thought it was an easy walk from the back yard, but it actually involved walking steep and rocky path. But it is not owner's fault because apart from the photos, easy access to the lake from the property was never in the advertising; 2: maybe I am being fussy or spoiled from my previous experiences with other AirBnb or (Hidden by Airbnb) hosts. We booked the property for three nights with 6 people, fully equipped property usually means more than two rolls or toilet paper and a box of tissues provided. I got more than enough supplies of toilet paper and tissue from Coles for less $10. And for each shower, we got a tiny bar of soap not bigger than a match box. I guess all I am trying to say is a few more dollars to make your guests fell more at home should be a good deal. Overall, we enjoyed the property and the area.
