Park
“Just behind the Sforza castle, you will find the green lung of the city. The Parco Sempione (Simplon Park in english) is the largest public park in Milan and a perfect place to rest a bit. Some buildings worth seeing while strolling around: The Civic Aquarium of Milan, and its nice architecture. The visit isn’t really worth it, as it’s quite small The Triennale, highlighting the arts and Italian architecture The Arena Civica, a multi-purpose stadium dating from 1807, where sport events are held The Arco della Pace, the triumphal arch of Milan, built to celebrate peace. I loved the architecture! ”

Museum
“Located not far from the Duomo, Milan’s Castello Sforzesco – built in the 15th century by Duke Francesco Sforza – was once one of the largest citadels in Europe. Today, it houses various museums and numerous important artworks and relics, but it is also nice to wander through its courtyards and drink in the sense of history. After you are done exploring the castle, walk out the back gate and straight into Parco Sempione, Milan’s “green lung” and one of the most beautiful parks in the city. There are a variety of events planned this year at the castle to honour da Vinci’s contribution to the destination, from frescoes to other beautiful adornments. ”

“A nice walk in Arco della Pace is such a romantic thing to do! The lights, old villas and the boulevards will make you go back in time and take you to a beautiful dream (filled with colorful cocktails in one of the many elegant bars in the area, of course!)”

Monument / Landmark
“Exiting Sempione Park in a north-westerly direction, visitors come face to face with one of the most important neoclassical monuments of the city: the Arco della Pace, built in 1807 and designed by Luigi Cagnola. Together with two toll gates it represents the place where the strada del Sempione entered Milan and was built in the Napoleonic era to connect Milan and Paris; the current Corso Sempione initiates from here. From an urban point of view the construction of the first section dates from the late nineteenth-early twentieth century and is now a prestigious residential area. In recent years, the area in the immediate vicinity of the Arco della Pace has become an important centre of nightlife in Milan with an appealing selection of dining options. Another place of interest close by is the Arena Civica - designed by Luigi Canonica and built in 1806 with materials from the demolition of the Castello’s fortifications - which hosts concerts and cultural and sporting events.”

Neighbourhood
“A stone's throw from the Arco della Pace and its bustling nightlife, the city changes face as visitors enter the Chinese quarter with via Canonica, via Polo Sarpi and via Bramante as the main thoroughfares. The area developed its urban identity in the second half of the nineteenth century when a neighbourhood for residential, production and commercial purposes was built upon the grounds of some surrounding monasteries. The first Chinese presence dates back to the ‘20s and ‘30s but it is only since the late ‘70s that there was a more massive immigration move which gave the area its current status as a bustling Chinatown.”

Landmark
“Meeting at sunset, when the sun goes down and the city slowly lights up in the evening lights ... it's time to get on the more Milanese Tower, the Torre Branca! Floor after floor, up to the highest panoramic terrace of the Branca Tower: listening to a thousand stories and stories about the city that slowly unfolds before our eyes, enjoying, up there, almost 100 meters high, an aperitif at a single altitude and unforgettable! The Torre Branca, a true work of art by Giò Ponti, who competes in height with the Madonnina, will be the fulcrum of our guided tour. An iron structure that offers, after a quick ascent in the elevator, a terrace overlooking the city, a privileged point of view to allow us to expand the horizons, observing the Sforzesco Castle at our feet and a little further the monuments of the historic center , the new neighborhoods and the modern cathedrals of glass and, in the days of clear skies, the mountains that are the corollary to our splendid region. We climb to the top of Torre Branca and at 98 meters of height let's enjoy the view from up here! With the lights of the evening and the city that lights up with life in the atmosphere that is increasingly tinged with sparkling reflections ... But not only! Our climb to the top is made even more special by a sweet break, a moment to pamper us and warm our palate with a sparkling aperitif! Every moment is good to discover Milan in tasty company. Give away and give yourself an atmosphere of pleasure, between beauty, magnificence and goodness at high altitude!”
