The adjacent loft upstairs contains sleeping space and a sitting room Your upstairs space overlooks the living room below with floor to ceiling windows looking into the forest. We have pets that live outdoors, but our animals are never allowed in the house.
We are 20 miles NW of Ava. You will most likely not see anyone else besides us and other potential campers or guests. You will see many many stars at night!
  • I also have many wonderful things to say about Claire and Mike. Their hospitality and kindness goes beyond what is expected. Their home is incredibly beautiful and comfortable. A stay at the main house is Luxurious Ranch-living. Complete with a (very clean) private room and bathroom and access to most of the house. Sharing the kitchen was easy and relaxed. I also ate from the meals they offered: WOW! Amazing farm-to-fork food. I asked if I could help with egg-collecting, animal feeding and, animal butchering and Claire was super awesome at giving me tasks to help around the ranch, and make my "retreat" get-away, a wonderful therapeutic experience. The hikes throughout the Ranch were spectacular. The dogs were so friendly and accompanied me. It was beautiful. As a queer woman of color, I felt safe and welcomed with open arms. I look forward to going back MANY MANY MANY times.

  • My children and I stayed here one night and had a great time exploring the property and enjoying the company of Claire's family and animals. We hope to be back the next time we are in the area and spend more time at this lovely ranch.

  • Very Welcoming Host Family. Such a relaxing place. We had all the room we needed and more. Truly a place to get away from it all!

  • This was such a magnificent experience! We arrived rather late in the day and were greeted by a very warm and welcoming family. There was a note and some delicious chips and salsa for us. They showed us around and let us settle in. We were immediately so comfortable. The whole time they did really well at balancing making us feel welcome while giving us space to relax. We had an entire bedroom with two beds and a bathroom. It was a wonderful private space that was very clean. There were towels provided, but we used our own to lessen their laundry load. There is also a very comprehensive binder in the room with history of the ranch and information about neighboring towns. We found it incredibly informative and helpful. It was a really nice touch! The bed was SO COMFORTABLE! I just melted into it every night. My kids got along wonderfully with theirs and had so much fun. It was the highlight of our vacation. One morning they even made us pancakes together. I forgot to get the recipe, but I'll have to ask for it! There was a shelf in the fridge for us to put our food on and bread and farm eggs provided for our breakfast. It was all very clearly marked. Dinner was also offered for purchase, but we had to pass. Dinner every night smelled just amazing though! I'd recommend it by the wonderful smell alone. The older daughter also guided us on a hike to the waterfall and it was just a really wonderful experience. We also had s'mores together one night around the fire. The animals here were all so friendly and my girls loved playing with them all. There are a few nearby towns to go to for some fun activities within an hour or so away - an ice cream shop, health food store, Baker Creek, Laura Ingalls Wilder house, small town movie theater, etc. It's a great spot for a long weekend of relaxation as well as some action. There is internet available in the living room via an ethernet cord. My Mac wasn't able to be connected, but my husband's laptop worked so I was able to get a little bit of work done. Just be aware if you have a laptop that doesn't have an ethernet port! We really enjoyed getting to know the family and their plans for their land and home. I wish them the best of luck. They're an inspiration and we will surely be back here time and time again for a longer stay!

  • I loved the experience of staying at this airbnb!! The listing was exactly as advertised! No wifi! I read a whole book! Tricky to find with GPS but Claire's directions both in and out of the ranch were excellent. Their 10-year old was the best host of all! She cooked dinner, gave me a tour of the waterfall, and played the violin for me. What a treasure.

    Virge2016-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • What a treasure this place is! Claire and her family were so welcoming - even included us in their family meals. The goats and alpacas, chickens and dogs (and cat) were all amazing for this city family. Claire gave us a hiking tour of some of the property and shared with us her vision for this amazing getaway. We will definitely be back - hopefully in time for the baby goats. A great place to unplug from the daily grind.

  • We were a group of 5 students who wanted to have a peaceful new years at a farm house. So we looked up this place and decided to go ahead with it. Reached the place by 2 30pm and we were greeted with four big cute friendly dogs. The house was beautiful and we were given the 2nd floor with 5 comfy beds and cleaned blankets. The kitchen had a lot of spices and food which we could use. Since it was 31st night they had plans with their friends and let us have the entire house for ourselves. Preparing the bonfire outside in the cold was the most challenging part. They also let us use their barbecue set which helped us big time. The next day they returned and showed us around the place which included alpacas, chickens, goats and dogs. They also showed us a small trail which was very nice. Overall the trip was amazing and I would definitely visit again.

  • This listing doesn't really convey just how idyllic an experience we had at High View Farm. The property is farmlike, but the most beautiful and gracious farm I've ever seen. The hosts are farmers, but with the capacity to cross that cultural divide as though it didn't exist. Our visit here was truly a beautiful interpretation of "sustainable agriculture" for the city person. Susan offered to prepare us dinner on our arrival, and it was sublime. She and William spent much valuable time answering our questions and showing us their plants, gardens, and animals. If we had been able to stay longer, we would have witnessed the birth of a calf. I don't know how I will be able to get back to Fordland, but I would like to spend a week there next time. I would like to mention that the home does not show as well in photos as it does in life. It is a lovingly and carefully restored ancestral farm house in Susan's family. I expected it to have, well, elements of rural life that are not our most-cherished elements (bugs, for example, skunks, and, well, old-age.). This was not the case. It was very, very clean and up-to-date; it was sort of time-capsule in the very best sense of that word. Beg Susan to show you her canning cupboard, with rows and rows of preserved fruit and vegetable, just like you read about in books. Beautiful!

    Irene2016-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • The house is on a working farm, so unique in that aspect. A real bonus was the fine breakfast and snacks for our early morning departure.

  • Book this place ! Don't even think twice about it. You will love the warm welcome, the most wonderful food you can imagine! Seriously the food will have your tastebuds dancing for joy. It's peaceful, super clean, private, and a tranquil setting. William and Susan are amazing host! Don't miss out on this opportunity. We will be back for sure! Blessed by this experience.

  • Awesome experience staying at this working generational farm B&B! Our gracious hosts made us feel relaxed and right at home and made our anniversary holiday so special and memorable. The food was delicious, the menagerie of farm activities and animals was interesting and fun to see and the location was ideal for sightseeing. We can't wait to come back! Don't hesitate to book this place!

Our cottage is located on a quiet country road, in the middle of our 175 acre farm. It's surrounded by creeks and beautiful scenery. Inside, you'll find a relaxing, modern farmhouse atmosphere, without any distractions. Located in a secluded area, please keep in mind cell phone service is limited and we do not provide Wi-Fi, allowing you and your guests a screen-free, quiet retreat!
We are off a quiet dirt road about 7.5 miles from Hartville and 25 miles from Marshfield.
  • Perfect winter girls get-a-way. Full kitchen, three rooms, sleeps 6 comfortably. The bathroom is the best part! HUGE clawfoot tub, and pretty land to walk around. The property is really close to Bakers Creek Seed Company, which is a must see. One of us had to check work email and Lauren was kind enough to bring a router down for internet. The house is also part of an awesome wedding venue you can check out while your there.

    Alyssa2015-12-21T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great family trip to Hope Springs Farm, everything was as pictured and described, which was awesome. The house was wonderful and worked well for a baby and a toddler! We had fun exploring the property and just relaxing. We did a lot of cooking while there as well and had everything we needed in the little kitchen. Lauren's communication was great every step of the way, she responded quickly to every question I had. We'd love to go back!

    Colleen2017-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great place to stay. Excellent value. If you want to unplug and relax, this is the place to do it. Full kitchen, comfortable beds, excellent shower and bath. The house is surrounded by pastures. At night, sit out on the deck and look at stars and fireflies, listen to the frogs, crickets, owls and whip-poor-wills. Great spot for birding. I even was lucky enough to see the cutest Bob-White quail family! And an epic aerial battle between a red tailed hawk and two swifts. The house was spotlessly clean. I only stayed for two nights, but wish I could stay longer. It's close enough to Hartville where there is a grocery store, gas station and cafe with wifi, but isolated and removed enough to have privacy and solitude. Keep in mind, this place is RURAL, so if you have a problem with bees or cows or gravel roads or normal country surroundings, this won't be for you. But if you're ok with a country setting, this place is very nice.

    Davida2016-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • We greatly enjoyed our stay at Lauren's place while traveling to Mansfield, Missouri to tour the Laura Ingalls Wilder Museum / homes. The renovated farmhouse is beautifully decorated, with a mix of modern and antique accents. The most underrated attraction is the night sky - the stars are bold and beautiful in the Ozarks, and the view alone is worth the trip.

    Laura2016-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • Loved it! Beautiful calm peaceful… We enjoyed ourselves very much. Cute, simple decor. Loved walking along the creek. No Wi-Fi, which was a plus for the adults, not so much for the teenagers! : )

    Kirsten2017-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice experience. The house is in a beautiful location and very quiet. When we arrived the house was warm and very clean. Would stay again and recommend to others. Thank you for a nice, relaxing place to stay, Lauren!

    Trevor2016-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • The quintessential farm home! It was lovely and we wished we could've spent more time hanging out on the farm land- the dogs loved romping around on the beautiful grounds- and I loved the timeless antique pieces in the home! Since we were getting in late, Lauren provided step by step instructions which were very much appreciated!!!

    shannon2016-06-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great experience here. The house is comfortable and decorated so nicely in a cute country theme making it very inviting. It is also well supplied with a fridge, microwave, coffee maker, kitchen utensils, towels, soaps, etc. Lauren even left DVDs for us to watch. The farm is wonderful. Our kids enjoyed playing in the barn and kids play area, and exploring the creek, springs, and bluffs. We loved it and the kids are asking if we can go back again someday!

  • The place was nice. The hosts were friendly. I would not recommend the Stallion room as it had no windows. And honestly, I'll just drive to Springfield next time. Other than a decent Mexican restaurant, the town has nothing but a few fast food restaurants and a lot of empty buildings. The prettiest thing in town is the view from the cemetery on the hill.

  • Sometimes you stumble on exactly what you were looking for, & we did. Beautiful, very secluded, & off the beaten path with a very warm & gracious host family who go out of their way to share their personal oasis with you. Fantastic food, great fellowship & soul soothing moments will be waiting for you there...enjoy!

    Cheryl2017-05-07T00:00:00Z
  • The hosts made me feel very welcome. I already knew Claire, and I got to know her husband and their two daughters. Following their good directions, I found myself in a beautiful three-story log home in the middle of an Ozark farm (ranch) with their goats, chickens, and alpacas. The place is so deep in the valley that there is no cell phone reception, and the hills are too high for good satellite tv reception. I was able to enjoy the weekend without the need to keep up with email or tv. I look forward to coming back to the ranch in October and helping the hosts with their goal of hosting live bluegrass music festivals on their property. They have built a stage for the performers and the audience will be sitting in front in their lawn chairs.

  • Claire and Myke have a real gem of a place in rural Southwest Missouri. If you are looking for a remote, beautiful location to escape, enjoy nature, and unwind, then this is it. To get there, you'll travel off the beaten path down windy gravel roads to arrive at their lovely log cabin and homestead. The room is a very large, private bedroom with a couch and desk, located on the first floor at one end of the house. There is a private attached bath with double sinks, shower, and jacuzzi tub. The room has a private entrance to the outside, which leads out to a wraparound deck overlooking the forest. There is tons of privacy, yet Claire and Myke are very friendly and happy to interact if you want. The room and house was very clean, and communication, directions, and instructions were all well-organized. The house has modern conveniences (good water pressure, internet, and full kitchen), coupled with a feeling of remoteness and closeness to nature. Claire, Myke, and their family were an absolute pleasure to get to know and chat with. They were incredibly gracious in sharing their home with us, and have an interesting story to tell about moving to and living in the Ozarks. We very highly recommend a stay with them - either as a destination in itself, or as part of a weekend trip to Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds and Pioneer Village or the Laura Ingalls Wilder museum, both nearby.

  • Our stay with Claire and family was a special treat and adventure. We LOVED it. It was worth the drive in from the the main, paved roads. Lovely environment and luxurious room, really. My granddaughter got to interact with the animals which she loved. A lovely family in a gorgeous place. Very restful, too! We so enjoyed our stay and interacting with Claire and family.

  • We spend a wonderful night in the Dockle Range. Claire is a very nice and interesting person, she enjoy showing us around. I truly recommend this place to anyone that want a unique night in the wood

  • From the moment we pulled in the driveway I felt at home at Dockley Ranch. I was greeted immediately by Claire and her entourage of extremely loving and friendly dogs and puppies! I thought I had died and gone to heaven. Our room was spectacular and beyond worth the fee we paid to stay there. The suite is HUGE with a wrap around deck, a private exterior entrance, a jacuzzi tub. There is a full kitchen available to use too! If we would have had more time, I would have loved to cook up something delicious in the ample space of the kitchen. We didn't have much time to adventure (we were on a tight schedule) but we did trek up the hill and get a panoramic view of the beautiful 80 acre ranch before we headed out to Baker Creek.

    Emily & Andrew2016-05-03T00:00:00Z
  • Claire was a wonderful host, waiting up for us to arrive as we were late arriving. from the drive from KY. She was very welcoming. made us feel at home and has a beautiful place. We chose the room because of the jacuzzi and though we didn't have time to soak that night, we took advantage of it the following morning. We did have trouble finding the place (our issue) but Claire had supplied us with good instructions including their land line number which was invaluable. in helping us find the way. Loved meeting the baby goats that Claire's daughter introduced us to the following morning. We loved the place and hope that we can come back and stay here in the future when we have more time. Hopefully we can come with more of our family to enjoy this idyllic get away from city life.

  • If you find yourself needing to stay in or near Ava, MO, this is the place! Megan's room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. The bed is a trundle which sleeps two and both mattresses were extremely comfortable. The room is small but has enough space for the essentials, and the attached bathroom was great! We stayed here while visiting Baker Creek Farms which was about 25 minutes north in Mansfield, MO. There is a great diner a block down the street, Haros Brothers, where we had breakfast. Megan made the whole experience quick and easy. Can't ask for anything more in a host and place to stay!

  • I really enjoyed my stay at The Well. The room is very comfortable and thoughtfully appointed, even including a little dorm fridge and a Keurig coffee maker (with organic coffee!). The bed is very comfortable! Megan was very kind and accommodating as regards my changing travel times, very responsive and easy to communicate with. I was in the Ozarks for a workshop about 30 minutes away, and The Well, and the town of Ava, were the perfect oasis for my evenings and early mornings. Thanks Megan!

The Well offers yoga, steam room, organic coffee, and a clean/comfortable sleep space. You can even pop into the store for some of the finest brands of yoga gear and clothes. It brings a bit of city comfort to this tiny town. Across the way is a natural market with anything you might need on your stay. Megan is a warm and kind host and went out of her way to make sure we were having a good experience. We would definitely visit again and recommend the space to anyone visiting Ava.

The house was built in the late 40's and has tons of charm. High ceilings, original hardwood floors, arched doorways, and shabby chic furnishings make this house the perfect stay! We are also located right on the Trans American Bike Route and welcome any cyclists that may need to stop over for the night! For parties of 2 or more requesting separate rooms, a twin room is available for an extra fee.
Our neighborhood is nice, we are located along the main stretch through town so it gets busy at times, but nonetheless still a nice place to live. We are minutes away from restaurants, gas stations, Wal-Mart and Walgreens.

  • Nathan was an awesome host, unfortunately I arrived much later than I had hoped and the great host that he is, he was waiting up to receive my weary soul after a very long day! I missed the opportunity to really meet this welcoming host, and visit with his young family!

This is a country style rancher just four miles out of Marshfield on a quiet country lane nestled about halfway between Lebanon, MO and Springfield, MO (about 25 miles either way), right off I-44. Clean, comfortable with plenty of room to relax and get away from it all. It really feels like home.
This house is a farm style rancher that has that coming home to Grandma's feel. While the house is "child friendly", it is not "child-proof". I have a pack-n-play available for a portable crib if needed.
There is one home within view of this house. Very nice, quiet young family. Other neighbors are down the lane. Lots of pasture and yard between houses. There is a pond in a quiet setting just a short walk through the pasture and a wood. Fruit trees and grapvines line the back yard.
  • Michelle is a wonder hostess, she made us comfortable right from the beginning answering all our questions via email and when she welcomed us to handover the keys. The house is very beautiful and well maintained, if you are looking for a quite time with no traffic and have a total family time then this is the place, the game room has lot of board games which my daughter loved. 10 mins from the apartment you will get lot of food options, however the kitchen is well equipped if one is planning to cook. Michelle was very kind to provide us with coffee and breakfast options. All bathrooms had fresh towels and toiletries hotel like. In short home comfort with 5 hotel cleanliness. Will definitely stay again if opportunity presents.

Fantastic experience for this city girl!

  • Loved the trees, the wildlife, the pond and spillway, the simplicity, the sunshine, the storms, the strawberries, the reminder that we truly need so very little in life, and the beauty of living somewhere where people still wave when they pass on the road.

    Mary2017-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • I had the best time at the cabin! I went for a personal retreat to do some writing and get some space. The area is beautiful, Lee and Lu are super nice and the cabin had absolutely everything I needed in it - the value of what they are offering is amazing, about half the cost of everything I was looking at. Can't wait to visit again!

Families with children (max 2) get 2nd room for 10$ per child if space available. This is the Beach Room, so named because all of the furnishings and memorabilia were collected along the gulf coast of Florida and furnished our home there. This room is a cozy room with a comfortable double bed containing a memory foam mattress topper. There is a small chapel on the property for personal use whenever wanted and all are welcome to worship with us on Sunday afternoons at 1 pm, if desired. We offer our chapel to those couples desiring a country, rural place to unite in marriage. There is a fee for officiating the ceremony and submitting the legal paperwork.

  • Great log cabin experience. We were the only couple staying, and had a wonderful experience having the top floor to ourselves. Warm and lovely couple!

    Brandon2017-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • They were so gracious to accept our last minute booking! It was a good drive on a gravel road, but Madlyn was incredibly hospitable and turned the light on to greet us right away. The house was a great story and sight in itself. I feel that it's an incredible value with such a great home cooked breakfast! I would recommend this place to anyone looking. It may be a long drive to get there, but it's 100% worth it!

    Whitney2017-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you so much to Madlyn and David for sharing their beautiful hand-crafted home with us! And thank you also for your warm and caring presence. It added immeasurably to our trip, and I hope we have the opportunity to stay there again soon! Next time I would love to spend more time around the farm and meet some of Madlyn's dairy cattle!

Our cabin is perched with views of the valley. Explore 80 very remote acres in a park like setting. Roaming chickens, alpacas and goats, creeks and a waterfall make this whimsical Ozarks property inspiring! You will experience quiet solitude and star gazing.
Our cabin is unique and very remote from any well-traveled road. The 220 sq ft cabin has 2 sleeping loft spaces with a twin and full mattress, plus a full bed on the ground floor. There is electricity, a heater, air conditioning, a small toaster oven, and a mini Weber charcoal grill outside, and a propane Coleman stove outside for your use. Since we are far out in the country, it is advisable to grocery shop before you arrive for your meals and bring a cooler. Flush toilet and sink is a short walk away at the outdoor pavilion area. Right behind the cabin is a cold water showering area. We'll greet you on the main level of the log home (the main house on the property) and show you the way to the cabin. Upon booking, I will send you specific directions to arrive at our farm. We have a room in this house listed at https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/11083932 and another at https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/3369335 We allow camping in the field as well. If your group includes campers, include them in the number of guests who will be staying.
We are about 20 miles NW of Ava. You will most likely not see anyone else besides us and other campers or guests. You will see many many stars at night!
  • The cabin was a perfect place for us to spend a few day out in the woods with the grand-kids. The kids loved having the loft areas to sleep in. Claire and Myke and their girls made our stay a wonderful experience. Great home cooked meals!

    Dana2017-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • Our group of 4 really enjoyed our stay at Claire and Mike's cabin. They were super hospitable! They gave us a tour of the farm, their animals, the waterfall, etc. Even though it was his birthday, Mike came up to our cabin to see if we needed anything (oil for the tiki lamps and stuff). All in all, great stay. Would definitely come back again!

  • Claire and her husband are both very accommodating hosts and their land is beautiful.

    Stephen2017-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I spent a weekend at the cabin. We got extremely lucky with some beautiful weather and spent a lot of time exploring. The cabin is secluded and offers amazing views of land during the day and stars and sky at night. We got to see and hear lots of wildlife; cows, birds, frogs, bats. Claire took us in to see their goats, and the farm dogs spent some time with us at the cabin and on walks. Mike and Claire and such kind people and make wonderful hosts, we have already talked about going back!

    Samantha 2017-04-16T00:00:00Z
  • This is a beautiful location, it would be hard to take a photo that would do it justice. The hosts are great guys, very friendly and generous. We enjoyed our walks, hikes and spending time at the waterfall. You can buy eggs too, and they are delicious! It is deep in the country, so outside of the cabin bug spray is a must! We really enjoyed ourselves in this cozy "tiny house". It's a great opportunity to spend time outdoors, breathe the clean air, cook your food on the fire and just disconnect from the "everyday". This is basically all the best parts of camping, but with a real bed. We will be back for sure. If you're looking for peace and quiet you can find it here. The hosts are really friendly if you go find them at the main house, but they do give you your space.

    Amy2017-05-17T00:00:00Z
  • Dockley Ranch is SO beautiful! The drive is a great adventure - rugged dirt roads framed by beautiful trees with views of the Ozark mountains, rolling hills, and livestock. The property itself is idyllic - beautiful views from the cabin, a lovely trail to a creek and waterfall, the impressive pavilion and stage. And the outdoor shower looking out over the hills provides a super scenic shower. The hill top cabin was so clean and cozy and smelled like cedar! The night sky is incredible and we were lucky to see a few shooting stars. I absolutely loved my stay there.

    Jessica2017-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • Claire's cabin is clean, cozy and perfect. Claire and Myke were friendly and helpful with everything we needed. We had planned to keep to ourselves but got along so well that we spent the evening around the fire in front of the main house chatting. We came back down to the house to cook breakfast in the morning at Claire's invitation, and had a blast coming bacon and eggs over the fire. The dogs were loyal and friendly and served as our protectors through the night. We only stayed one night but wished we had time for more! Dockley Ranch is the perfect nature getaway and we'll definitely be back, next time for longer!

  • Promised Land Farm B & B is a gorgeous home/B&B on a gorgeous piece of property, in a scenic rural setting. Madlyn and David are so kind and gracious, as well as talented in and out of the kitchen! This is the first time my fiancé and I have ever been to a B & B. Promised Land Farm set the bar high! We stayed for Easter weekend while my son was visiting his dad in Springfield. We are from Kansas City, and had to arrive rather late in the evening on Friday night. Madlyn sent us very good directions that were easy to follow, even in the dark! (As a side note, our gps did give us correct directions to the destination as well, but Madlyn's directions helped to confirm that we were still on track, and added extra details that made finding the farm easier than with just a gps.) Madlyn and David were both awake and ready to greet us as we arrived. We were amazed and mesmerized at the sight of their beautiful home! After being shown where all the essentials were and chatting for a bit with Madlyn and David, we went to sleep. The bed was so comfy! We both slept so well on that bed!! Breakfast on both mornings was delicious! We really did not want to leave. The exceptional hospitality, cozy, beautiful accommodations and lovely scenery easily lives up to the name Promised Land Farm B & B! We will definitely be staying there in the future!

Communication, check-in, and check-out could not have been any easier. Madlyn and David made us feel so very welcomed and at home from the moment they greeted us! They are both so very talented and interesting; you can't help leaving with fresh inspiration! The breakfast was absolutely delicious ~ what a wonderful way to start the day! When we travel to this area in the future we hope they will have an available room for us again!

Our Inn is close to Springfield nightlife, antique shopping. We are an hour from Branson and the Lake Ozark areas. You’ll love our home because of the neighborhood, the comfy custom made king size bed, and the relaxing atmosphere. Our place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers. You can also book the whole house for a Wedding Destination.
The Swan Song Inn is a one of a kind for this area. Our 2 room suites all have a separate sitting area with fireplaces and private baths with Jacuzzi tubs. It is the Destination for Relaxation. An amazing breakfast is included with your stay.
Our Estate is located 7 miles off Hwy 44 in a quiet country setting. You can roam our 10 acres, fish in our lake or paddle boat to the island for a picnic. Shopping can be found in all directions.
  • Doug and Cheri made our stay at Swan Song Inn very memorable. We were en route to New Mexico and knew we wanted to stay somewhere to replenish & replenish we did. From the jacuzzi bath, the walk around the loop, to the feeding the chickens and sitting by the lake... it was perfect from start to finish. If all of that wasn't enough, our hosts took care of all of our dietary needs as well. Our bed had silky soft bamboo sheets that were the perfect compliment to an optimally restful night's sleep. We highly recommend this beautiful inn to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway!

Our home consists of 4 bedrooms for the B&B on the main floor, with each bedroom accommodating 2 guests max. Each Bedroom is listed separately by name. Our farm is close to Springfield and Branson, MO and the airport, parks, the city center, and nightlife. We provide a continental style breakfast featuring cereals, fruits and homemade sweet rolls and breads. Other meals can be provided by special request and for a fee of $10 per meal.
Our Log home was totally hand crafted inside and out by my husband. We are progressive Amish-Mennonites and our home has all of the modern conveniences. Families with children (max 2) get 2nd room for 10$ per child if space available. This is the Lucy Room, so named because the walls are adorned with pictures from each of the main episodes of the hit 1950's TV show, I Love Lucy, which was my favorite. There are other items of memorabilia on display as well. This room is a corner room and is a cozy room with a double bed. There is a small chapel on the property for personal use whenever wanted and all are welcome to worship with us on Sunday afternoons at 1 pm, if desired. We offer our chapel to those couples wishing to unite in marriage. There is a fee for officiating the ceremony.
  • Breakfast was great! Madlyn and David seemed to be very kind hearted people

  • Loved this cozy warm cabin feel!! My daughter and I slept extremely well on the memory foam beds. Loved the decor too!! The breakfast and friendly hospitality were "the best"!! The tiny chapel adds to the whole atmosphere!! Loved it all and will come back when we can for sure!! Looks to be a great place for a church group retreat as well!!

  • What a great stay! Between the tranquil setting to the delicious breakfast, I could have not asked for more. The surroundings were beautiful country and tons of wildlife if you are the least bit (URL HIDDEN) hosts could not have been a more interesting pair to chat with....fascinating backstories!

  • I stayed one week at Madlyn's place. The house is approximately 30 minutes east of Springfield in a rural farming country living community. My stay was fabulous! Madlyn and her husband were extremely friendly and personable. Breakfast every morning was excellent and coffee ready when I got up. Conversation with them both was fantastic! I joined them for sundary service at 1:00pm and even played guitar with David for the service. I was the only one in attendance the day I was there, but it was wonderful and intimate. If you prefer city life and close to activities, this is not the place for you. However if you prefer to be away from town and commuting distance with a more quiet atmosphere and be treated like family, then this is the place you want. I loved it and made new friends in the process. I would love to stay with them any time I visit the Springfield area in the future. Thank you Madlyn and David! I look forward to the next time. • I travel quite a lot using airbnb, and communication with the host is critical. Madlyn has been fabulous, by phone or email, regarding what it takes to have a very comfortable stay. Thank you very much Madlyn.

  • We had a quiet and restful stay in a beautiful log home built by the owners. The beds were comfortable, the food was good and filling, and David and Madlyn were wonderful hosts interested in making us comfortable. We took advantage of an evening meal as posted on their website and again enjoyed Madlyn's great cooking. If you want a quiet serene out of the way place to stay with great hosts, we highly recommend this place, which we thoroughly enjoyed.

This room is full of energy with the colorful wall, and records all over the place. You can spend hours just reading labels, but we want you to spin those records and enjoy the vibes. Grab the guitar and play along. You can even dance in the over sized shower with party lights. In the end you will sink into the wonderful king size bed with the best of bamboo sheets and luxury pillows. You can roam the estate enjoy the lake and you also get to come to the main house for breakfast.
This getaway is perfect for weekenders seeking to reconnect with each other and fun seekers looking for something different.
We are a private road that loops around. Our neighbors are all large estates as well. But we do ask that a quiet time be around 10pm.
