  • We got very friendly welcome by John and Hannah, and spent relaxing and happy four days at their house. The house is very clean and lovely with good decoration, and it has good location, walk distance to train and bus station, and very near to the ocean, my friends and I very love the place. John also gave us many useful tips to hang around the island. I will highly recommend this place!

  • This one bed apartment is a great choice for both couples and close friends, especially for self-catering. The location is great, quite to stay in but also close to the beach area (within 5-10 min walk), and the island coaster stop is within 5 min as well. The hosts are fabulous, and the rooms are decorated to high standards as well. We've had a great time in the island, and four very comfy nights!! Highly recommended

  • The Swiss Chalet is ideal for a couple who prefer self catering. If you require an independent stay in a secluded self contained environment look no further. Johanne’s attention to detail enables you to enjoy the pleasant ambience they have created. The place is bright and airy and maintained to a very high standard exactly as in the pictures. Ample comprehensive facilities. Functional and simple. Lovely and clean nice and fresh. Everything is catered for by the hosts. Warm at night with good heater. Good shower with hot water. Fresh towels and comfortable cosy bedding ensures you will have a peaceful nights sleep. Easy secure parking on a large shared drive. The chalet is in a great location as it is only a 5 min drive away from the beach or high street. Your place of stay is quiet at night. Within 10 mins you can walk to a park pub or restaurant. There is a friendly local provisions store open from 7-11 which is less than 5 mins walk away. The hosts are lovely and very hospitable. We loved our stay. We would suggest you should just book it without any hesitation.

  • This sunny Swiss-style apartment provided us with the perfect base for a fantastic week exploring this beautiful island. Close to the scenic coastal path, sandy beach, tea rooms, restaurants, quirky shops and railway station, this accommodation is clean, bright, quiet and comfortable. Many thanks, Johanne and John, for making us feel so welcome, and we hope to return one day soon. Very highly recommended.

  • John and Hannah made us feel very welcome before arrival and throughout our stay and have been amazing hosts. The apartment was beautiful and clean and was perfect for the weekend get away that we were after. Shanklin is a lovely town as well full of amazing restaurants and natural beauty. I would recommend staying here to anyone wishing to get away from the mainland to relax and unwind. There weren't any issues at all with our stay and we are looking forward to going back some time in the future!

    Peter2017-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Comfortable, clean, modern and adequately equipped for a short or long stay. Lovely fresh linen on the beds, and bedding for the sofabed. Bright and airy. Good location as a base to go around the island. Walking distance to the beach. We walked to the beach and back with our 5 year old. 10-15 mins casual stroll. Shops are nearby if required. Easy parking. We had a kind and friendly welcome from our hosts, who were happy to attend to any requirements during our stay (not that we had any). Would recommend and stay here again.

    Nugmana2017-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • What a fantastic little apartment! It had everything we needed for our stay. We were able to walk down to the shops and the beach easily and drive around with no trouble despite being the busiest week of the year. I would thoroughly recommend this and Johanna and John were both very welcoming!

Once in the Ledge Hut, you have a modern kitchen, cosy sitting room, good shower/bathroom and snug bedroom providing everything you need. You can also sit on your private deck or in your lawned garden and watch the sun come up, the water line move in and out providing an ever changing magnificent view. The Pink Boat House next door can accommodate a further 2 guests on request.
Bembridge Village has a farm shop, fishmonger (great lobster) & butcher, bakery, coffee shops, restaurants, a couple of supermarkets,a pharmacy, house shop, pet shop and an antique shop.
  • In addition to what others already have written is that besides the wonderful sea-side view, we were impressed by the care that has been put into the house. A well-equipped kitchen, bathroom articles, glossy magazines, a local newspaper and a beautiful garden were at our disposal. A comfortable base-camp for exploring the Isle of wight.

  • What better place can you hope for, to experience the Ledge Beach Hut during Storm "Aileen!" This was our 6th stay at Ledge Beach Hut, and it was pretty perfect before, but Sarah has really done a superb job of giving it a new lease of life. Perfect host, with added extras on arrival. Such a beautiful touch. Thank you. See you next year!!!

    Amanda2017-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • We had a small concern that the beach hut might be a little chilly at the end of September but we needn' have worried - it's really cosy in both temperature and ambience. The location was just perfect with the beach literally on the doorstep and the high quality amenities of Bembridge just a 20 minute walk away (butchers, fishmongers, farm shop and proper village pub). We loved it so much we extended our stay by another night which was made so easy by Sarah who is very responsive and helpful. The only downside is that now back at home we're struggling to sleep without the sound of the sea right outside and the dog is wondering where "his" beach has gone!

    Nic2017-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Very relaxing and beautifully presented beach house. Stunning views and exceptionally clean. Would love to go back and would definately recommend.

    Lynn2017-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at the Ledge Beach Hut and Boat house. Such an idyllic place, perfect for our family holiday, but we imagine it would be equally perfect as a romantic destination for two. Thank you Sarah for making sure that we would be able to have a cup of tea/coffee and biscuit upon our arrival. Definitely want to stay again in the future!

  • Beautiful secluded cottage surrounded by nature and conveniently located close to Ryde. Perfect for a relaxing escape. We had a lovely stay at this cosy cottage. Wenna and Bruce were fabulous hosts, they went out of their way to make us feel at home. Can't wait to come back.

    Lucy2017-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely accomodation with lots of cute and quirky touches to the decorating. We were greeted by Wenna who was lovely and welcoming. Really dog friendly which was a bonus for us. All round a pleasant stay. Thanks.

  • A magical garden, woodland and terrace that transports from the hurly-burly of daily life! Charming and helpful hosts and well equipped cottage with wi-fi (useful on the Island). It really is secluded!

    Melissa2017-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely secluded little spot away from noise and traffic down a little unmade lane. The host was very welcoming and the cottage was clean, tidy and well equipped for a couple away on their travels. Even down to the fresh local milk and many spices in case you want to cook!!

    Charlotte2017-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • We didn't meet James but he was really helpful by email and his mum let us in. Lovely little cottage just as described - clean and quaint with views out ofbthe front door into fields. It is located next door to James's parents. 5 mins from the ferry. I'd be happy to recommend it.

Our recently decorated double bedroom is bright and sunny. The room has everything you need including tea and coffee making facilities, TV and hairdryer. Lovely white linen and fluffy white towels are all provided along with a selection of toiletries for your use. The bathroom is right next door so although it is not ensuite, it is for sole use of my guests. We only have the one guest room so apart from some Saturday day time visits from grandchildren our home is quiet.
We are happy for you to use our large kitchen/dining room and we have a small but nice conservatory which overlooks the garden. Outside we have a pretty garden with table and chairs which is a lovely sun trap It's a help yourself breakfast; we offer a selection of cereals, toast and jam, croissants or you could cook yourself a light egg breakfast or make some porridge. Home made bread is often available and I provide a selection of fresh seasonal fruit. Our kitchen is spacious and well fitted with a dishwasher. If you wish to cook in the evening please just check with us so we don’t all try and do this at the same time. If you have your own bikes we can offer secure storage in our garage.
We are a ten minute walk from Sandown train station, and there is a bus stop about five minutes away. We have parking outside the house. There is a Tesco Express close by. The beach is also in walking distance.
  • This place is awesome and Sally is a great host! Sally's house is close to the main road and bus stop. It is very convenient for people who are going to use public transport system. The room and the bathroom were exactly as it looks like in the photos. The bed is also very comfortable. They also have a cute dog and a cat, who were very friendly to us! The breakfast was generous and great! Sally also gave us a lift in her car to the nearby Shanklin beach front on the very first evening. It was very kind of her! An excellent place to stay for a young couple (like us) on a weekend trip or longer! We would love to come back there again!

    Suman2017-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Sally and Brian were exceptional hosts and offered lots of information about the island and where to dine-out. The house was beautiful and clean and we will definitely like to return in the future.

  • A great place to stay, I'd give it 6 stars if I could. Sally and her husband were welcoming and did everything to make our stay thoroughly enjoyable and menorable. We'll be returning to Sally's place next time we go to the Isle of Wight.

    Jillian2017-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice modern house with some nice touches eg light blue and white décor suiting the seaside. We had modern bathroom for our exclusive use. Its in a nice secluded location but not far from towns. Sally was very helpful - very dynamic lady!

    Mike2017-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • Sally's house is really clean and beautiful. The location is good, not far away from the beach and there is a tesco nearby. Sally is really helpful. Would definitely recommend.

    Jessica2017-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • Sally took amazing care of us and welcomed us into her beautiful home. We had a lovely time (and a delicious breakfast) and would definitely come back again. A quick tip for eating out in Sandown: most restaurant kitchens close down at 9pm so don't head out too late.

    David2017-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • Great experience! Would highly recommend! Easy to walk to from the city center and close to public transport and a grocery store.

    Andrew2017-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • My mum and I stayed for the night at Sally's place. We were warmly welcomed by Sally who gave us tea but also information about the restaurants and the road to follow. Bedroom and bathroom were clean and well decorated. Breakfast was pretty big and perfect to start the day on our bikes. Thank you !

Hello we just want to emphasise that you are most welcome. We are lucky to have guests from all over the world and from many different countries and backgrounds, that's the brilliant thing about airbnb. The flat has it's own entrance up the spiral stairs, light and airy the double room has a very comfortable double bed and a nice lounge with wifi access. The sofas in the lounge can convert into two single beds if needed, which is great for families, but it's a good size for a couple.
The flat is nice and quiet due to its situation at the rear of our Victorian house which is situated on the main road between Shanklin and Sandown. The flat is on the first floor and accessed by spiral stairs, it has it's own front door. East facing the flat is light and airy in the morning and looks over leafy gardens.
The Island is beautiful with many walks, bridleways, lovely beaches and sight seeing opportunities, checkout our guide book on air bnb.
  • I had a lovely stay in the Isle of Yoga flat. It was immaculate, clean and tidy and nice and peaceful for somewhere to relax. Fantastic location, close to the beach and close to the shops and the station. A great base for exploring the Island. I wish I could have stayed longer!

    Alice2017-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • Everything about Elaine's property was perfect for what we needed on our visit to the Isle of Wight. Elaine couldnt do enough for us as a host and was always very responsive to any questions I had. Location is great to get around and very close to Shanklin beach. Very peaceful and quiet and the kitchen although a little small was more than adequate for what we needed - all the basic pots / pans / utensils are there. Free parking as well which was very important to us. Overall a lovely stay in a great flat with a fantastic host and a perfect location - couldn't really as for anything more!

    Harriet2016-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • The flat was lovely and it was everything we had expected. Elaine and Erling were very welcoming hosts. The location was ideal, only a few minutes from the esplanade.

    Olly2015-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is very clean and tidy. There is enough place for everything. Great location. Great light.

  • We enjoyed our stay in this cosy little flat not far from the seafront in Shanklin. It's very easy to get to from the bus station or rail station in Shanklin and we appreciated the comfy bed and pillows and how clean it was.

    Kerry2017-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • Quiet, quaint and near public transport. Would recommend.

  • We visited the Isle of Wight over the bank holiday and have had a lovely stay at the apartment. All communication went really easy, we were warmly welcomed by Elaine and felt quickly at home at this cosy and well-equipped place. There was plenty of room for the two of us and we had good nights of sleep in comfy bed. The bus connection in Shanklin is very convenient to travel across the island and see the beautiful hikes and cute cities it has to offer. We would definitely recommend staying here!

    Joëlla 2017-04-17T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed in the garden flat for 3 nights. Really calm, clean and modern flat with its own entrance. Elaine and Erling were great hosts and made our stay very enjoyable. We had breakfast in the garden with freshly made bread and useful advice for our visits of the island. And of course some yoga lessons! The flat is very well located close to the city centre, coastal walks and beach. Highly recommend it. Sandra

Large double bedroom with sea view (15x13 feet), private terrace and adjacent private shower/toilet. Coffee/tea/snacks in room. Guests are always delighted by their safaris in our garden where we have resident badgers, red squirrels, foxes and glow worms throughout the year. Dolphins and seals can sometimes be seen too just 15 min walk to our nearest beach. Great location for coastal or country walks
This large downstairs double-bed room (size 15x13 feet/4.5x4 metres) has TV with DVD player and adjacent private shower room and toilet (5x3 feet/1.5x1 metres). The room is most suitable for a maximum of 2 adults but there is room for a blowup mattress on the floor or travel cot for an infant or a baby. You will also have your own private terrace with views of the mature garden and the sea. We have a second smaller upstairs room with side window views of the sea for short Airbnb stays if family or friends want to also stay. We provide towels, hair dryer, alongside complimentary shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. There are coffee and tea making facilities in your room and snacks too (Ellemiek loves baking :-). If there is anything else you may need, feel free to ask, we would be happy to help. The room is part of a 5 bedroom historic Victorian villa occupied by the family. Cars are parked on our land by our double garage, then it is a short walk 140 feet/40 metres down a gravel slope drive to our secluded house. The Botanic Gardens is only a few minutes walk and there are several beaches closeby too. One of our favourites is Steephill Cove where they sell fantastic crab pasties.
Our 150 year old villa is in a fantastic hidden away location close to amenities and island treasures. The villa is in its own 2 acres mature gardens above and adjacent to the wooded botanic gardens overlooking the sea. It is 15 minutes walk to the beach and coastal paths and a 5 minute drive (25 min scenic walk) to the Ventnor shops, pubs, theatres and other amenities.
  • A lovely homely and welcoming place to stay. Very relaxed and friendly hosts. A sea view and pretty garden. Amazing cakes and plenty of tea and coffee. Interesting for anyone who life wildlife and walks. Nice and clean, with very comfy beds. Choice of evening meals available - we didn't try these but the menu looked tempting. We would go back.

    Clare2016-07-11T00:00:00Z
  • We loved the friendliness and Graham showed us a badger, a red squirrel and a kitten. Our stay was short but we loved it!

    maki2017-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • Ellemiek and Graham were super hosts, we had a lovely chilled few days and the breakfast room with the view of the garden and the welcome cakes after almost 4 hours travelling was awesome!

    Liz2017-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • The hosts are very friendly and helpful. There's an exceptional positive atmosphere in the place. The mobile networks' signal is rather poor so it's not for someone who needs to be always in touch but if you want to relax and search for a quiet and beautiful place, this is what you would love. And especially for those who love nature, it's a paradise, with a "secret garden" full of many different species of plants, with badgers living nearby and coming to get their evening meal and red squirrels running around in the trees. On the top of it you'll have a botanic garden just a walk away and the ticket is valid up to 7 days! We're certainly thinking about coming back some day.

    Alicja2017-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • Very welcoming and helpful hosts! The room was all we could ask for with a lovely view of the garden and sea. I would definitely return. Many thanks!

    Arran2016-04-10T00:00:00Z
  • This is a quiet peaceful retreat, we were welcomed with a pot of tea, home baking and great tips about where to go and what to do. It was lovely to sit on the terrace and enjoy the view and the wildlife and to have an evening treat watching the badgers. A short walk takes you into Ventnor for the cafes and shops; to the botanic gardens; or to the cliff walks and secluded coves. Ideal spot with great hospitality, we would definitely visit again.

    Nicki2017-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • A super house with super hosts ! That's the short story. We've stayed for 3 nights at Graham and Ellemiek place. The room is perfect with a direct acces outside. The big plus is the private living room where a great breakfast is served every morning. We also had diner and we really enjoyed the green curry chicken. The house is up to the hill with a direct view of the sea. The hosts are very talkative and full of good advices to explore the island. Ventnor is a small city with good places to have good or cream tea, it was quiet in april because it's not yet the high season and it was exactly what we were searching for. 3 days on the island is too short so we will have to come back and for sure at this place.

    Thomas2016-04-16T00:00:00Z
  • We have had a great time in this lovely house used as Bed & Breakfast. Ellemiek and her husband Graham made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. The room with terrace overlooking the enormous garden and with seaview is very nice. Breakfast is included and has a wide variety of to chose from and is served at the time you prefer. It is also possible to order one of Ellemiek's tasty dishes as lunch or dinner meal. These are obviously not included but are only GBP 10 p.p. The hosts are also helpful when it comes to original and useful tips and advises where to go to on the island. We have stayed for 7 nights so have seen a lot of Ventnor and the other villages and towns on the island. Ventnor is definitely one of the best places to go to if you are visiting Isle of Wight for a few nights. From this B&B it is only a short walk to get to the beach or the town centre. We recommend this Airbnb to any other Airbnb user and will advise friends and family to book this accommodation as well.

Our place is close to the centre of the main town on the Island, with travel links to all over the Island only 5 mins away. The town features a wide selection of pubs and restaurants as well as historical buildings, a beautiful castle and stunning walks nearby. Our welcoming period property features a warm and relaxed atmosphere, a lovely bedroom and a range of breakfast options included in the price. Our place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travellers.
  • Ian and Dawnie went out of their way to welcome me and my bicycle into their lovely, central home in Newport. They let me borrow their own copy of a bicycle guide to the Island, which was really helpful. I had a different breakfast each day and all were delicious. Finally as I was travelling lightweight, they even ran my cycle gear through a quick wash on my last evening, and dried it for me ready for my departure. I can see why they have Superhost status! Thank you Ian and Dawnie for a wonderful stay.

    Jocelyn2017-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely comfortable room, a great breakfast and very welcoming and accommodating hosts. Ian even gave me a much appreciated lift in the morning. A great place to stay, highly recommended.

    John2017-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • Ian and Dawnie's is a wonderful place to stay. 5 mins or less to every bus line. 15/20 mins walk to Carisbrooke castle. It's really easy to get anywhere and see the sights. They are such lovely hosts with loads of great tips about the island. And their breakfasts are amazing - we are addicted to the cinnamon toast! Cannot thank Dawnie and Ian enough for their hospitality and kindness. We would highly recommend their home to anyone looking to stay on the island.

    Hannah2017-04-17T00:00:00Z
  • Ian and Dawnie are brilliant and very professional hosts. They made us feel very welcome and provided us everything to make our stay at their home a unique and great experience. As described in other reviews, the breakfast is amazing (professionally served and cooked by Dawnie herself), but what made our stay here a real pleasure was the genuine, laid-back hospitality of Ian and Dawnie. To help us get the most out of our brief stay in Newport, Dawnie was very helpful in suggesting us places to visit.

    Melinda2017-03-27T00:00:00Z
  • Dawnie and Ian were perfect hosts and made us feel so welcome. The house is very tidy and clean and in the perfect location to explore Newport as well as Carisbrooke. You'll want to stay more than one night so you can have their fantastic breakfasts, like their tasty original 'Full-English Club Sandwich'.

  • The Nook was cosy, well equipt, warm and beautifully arranged. Lovely garden and sitting area. The Pointer Inn pub was a few minures walk serving good food. Lisa provided eggs, milk etc. Very handy if you have arrived without shopping first. I strongly recommend the Nook as you have your own little haven for a nice break and being in a good location for getting around the Island. Thank you Lisa and Rob.

  • Lovely little place, very cosy. Very clean, comfy bed and great to have secure cycle storage. Beautiful surroundings. Local pub was good too with nice staff and food.

  • The Newchurch Nook is a little piece of heaven! Lisa and Rob have thought of everything you could possibly need and made us and our Westie pup very welcome. The cosy cottage had a real rustic feel and was spotlessly clean. The breakfast items were much appreciated and the enclosed garden was great for the dog too. Both the Pointer Inn and the Garlic Farm are within easy walking distance and getting around the rest of the island is a breeze from here, too. We will definitely stay here again next time we visit IOW!

    Nick & Jen2017-05-01T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed a wonderful 3 nights in this perfectly formed little house. Brand new, everything was immaculate and carefully thought out. The hosts kindly provided a travel cot for our daughter and she played safely in the enclosed garden. The bed was comfy, the shower decent and there was everything we needed for a comfortable stay, including essential groceries. The location is quiet and peaceful but very well-placed for getting around the island. We highly recommend a visit!

    Tristan2016-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Prior to our travel I asked Lisa to recommend the best port to travel to and Lisa gave us a code that meant we got got 20% off the ferry crossing and any tickets we booked for local attractions. Lisa had provided all the basics for our stay which we had not expected, bread, milk, butter, eggs, fruit, cereal, tea, coffee and sugar!! She also recommended we ate at the Pointers Inn which was a short walk away and the food was excellent. The location was perfect with a cycle way nearby to walk the dog!

    Julia2016-06-28T00:00:00Z
  • The Nook was perfect for our trip to the Isle of Wight. It was clean, well stocked, homely and good (and safe!) for a toddler who likes to explore. Lisa was helpful in showing us around but gave us our privacy. We would definitely return if we go back to the IoW.

    Nina2016-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • Lisa, our host, was there to greet us upon arrival and was very friendly. We were taken to the accommodation and given a quick tour and told about the amenities of the chalet etc, as well as the local pub which is 5 mins walk away, where we enjoyed a great meal after a hard days cycling. The chalet also has a lockable store to the side where we were able to put our bikes overnight which was very handy. The chalet is right next door to a section of the islands cycle network too so it is perfect if you plan on seeing the island by bike. Overall a great place to stay.

    Martin2016-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • The Nook is a wonderful place to stay! Lisa and Rob are fantastic hosts and have thought of everything. The place is clean and cosy. The king size bed is really comfy, the shower is great and they have thoughtfully made sure that you have everything you need from cutlery to butter, eggs and torches if you go walking to and from the pub at night. The wood burner is a wonderful thing and want one myself now. We stayed with our toddler and she loved the travel cot and cereals that they provided. The garden is gorgeous. We can't wait to stay again!

  • Lovely place, very convenient for Sandown attractions, and Rita and her husband were really friendly. Would recommend Bellamys Bistro for dinner.

  • Rita and her husband were very friendly and welcoming hosts and therefore made us immediately feel comfortable. Everything one could need was provided and the location of the house is perfect, at just a very short walking distance from the beach and it is easy to get to other places on the island from there. My friend and I definitely had a lovely stay there.

    Léa2016-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • Rita's home is amazing! It's so tidy and clean. So many fluffy toys in the room, which my girlfriend likes most. Every detail is perfect. We also had a good chat with Rita and her husband during the breakfast. We really enjoy the time in the house. What's more, it's only 5mins walk to the beach. We saw the sunrise!!! What a fantastic moment in our life.

  • The room was very comfortable with a private bathroom on the same floor. Rita let us keep our bicycles in the garage overnight which was very kind and ensured we didn’t need to worry about them. In the morning, we enjoyed the lovely croissants for breakfast and the company of Rita and her husband sharing the stories with us. It was a lovely stay and we felt very welcome!

Newport also has a lot to offer, including unusual shops, arts and craft galleries, supermarkets and much more. Also, we are fortunate to have a superb restaurant next door, run by a Michelin star chef.
  • I would give all the stars to Brenda but only 5 is possible. It is just unbelievable for all that energy, kindness and gratitude for life to fit into one person. She helped me from the very start with instructions on how to get to the island. My little room was nicely prepped. But the real kindness came when I got sick. Brenda made sure there was nothing I missed, she even included me in their meals and I was among the lucky ones to try the famous Indian ice cream. :-) Beside Brenda, Anthony with his quite but kind and caring way was exceptional. Of course it's just impossible not to mention Mr Clease, the king of the place. :-) Don't miss out on a good kitty massage if you are around. Dearest Brenda and Anthony, I can't thank you enough for all your kindness that made this so much more than a B&B. I wish you all the best.

  • This lovely place is so convenient. It's close with bus stop and supermarket also the host she so kind. If you looking for good place in Isle of white, I would recommend this place. It's worth the price.

  • Brenda, Antony and Mr. Clease are wonderfull hosts. They made us feel very welcome and at home in the Dollhouse. They take great care in providing clean and nice rooms. They provided a washing machine, a good breakfast and fun chats. A real home away from home. The house is perfectly situated next to the busstation and several supermarkets/restaurants. We'll be happy to return to the beautiful Isle of Wight and to this great Airbnb home. Thank you so much, Brenda!

  • Warm welcome from Brenda and Anthony. Very accessible location in the town centre.

    Soo2016-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • The attic room while a good size is not good for tall people -the property has low ceilings. Otherwise the room was lovely. Brenda has put a lot of work into this room to make you feel welcome and it was lovely to talk to her over breakfast.

    Claire2017-05-01T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is really central just 2 min by walk from the bus station. Brenda is such a lovely host. Highly recommend

    marilena2017-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • Brenda is very lovely! She is always near to lend a helping hand and goes above and beyond to make your stay comfortable. Her little touches of leaving treats upon arrival, keeping tea and toast available in her kitchen for guests, and giving you a personalized postcard as a parting gift, are all extras that makes it clear she really enjoys what she does. The only thing I can fault is that there is only one bathroom, and when the house is full you are sharing with 8 other people. Thanks for a nice stay Brenda!

    Ralph & Charday2016-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • This attic room is fantastic and very close to the bus station ,supermarket and shops. Brenda is very warm host and made me feel at home. I am lucky to have breakfast with Mr Clease. I'd recommend this to anyone visiting to the isle of wight.

There are many family attractions on the island, from Theme Parks to Fossils, from Steam Trains to a Butterfly World and from Gardens to Castles and Museums. It is less than a mile to walk down the road to Appley steps which lead to Shanklin beach. Turn left and you are shortly on the Esplanade, turn right and you quickly leave the crowds behind and can stroll along, admiring the views. The scenery around the island is stunning with many splendid views of downs and seaside to be found. Footpaths from Luccombe lead up to the downs where you can quickly get to the highest point on the Isle of Wight at St. Boniface Down.
  • You will receive literally everything that you need in this place during your vacation. The host is very thoughful and qualified for entertaining his guests, hence, there are lots of surprises you will find out as soon as you arrive. Much more than the introduction you can see on the website. I won't be a spoiler here, so you can reveal more by yourself. But, the things that I can guarantee is the view is superb, and their equipment is flawless. If you are looking for a tranquil stay on the Isle of Wight, I won't suggest anywhere, but Toreaves. Hope you will enjoy there like I did.

Even better if your a biker! If you've got a dog, you're in haven you literally walk out of the front gate and there are walks all around. Lisa is a great host, there but not there. My place is close to the beach, restaurants and bars. You’ll love my place because of the views from your room, the outdoor space and the fact that you have your own entrance .Parking is on street or there is a free car park 8 minutes away, although it does involve a climb of 25 steps. Please note there are 27 steps up to the entrance of this room, but worth it for the views. The entrance to this apartment is NOT in Blendworth Terrace. The entrance IS IN ST CATHERINE STREET.
The entrance to this room is in Saint Catherine Street you will need directions to find us as we are hidden from the road . On booking please advise how you are traveling Bus -Car -Cycle, so we can give you the best route to find us. If you think you will be late checking in, please advise us as soon as possible as the mobile phone reception is not always good on some parts of the island
We are spoilt for fantastic walks and places to visit ,stunning bays and beaches and of course the highest downs on the Island. There are a wide range of cafes -bars -restaurants to choose from, we even have a restaurant that is in the Michelin Guide. Please note most of the restaurants stop serving at 9.00-9.30pm but bars are open to later.

  • A FANTASTIC place to stay. Valerie and Bill were great hosts. All communications with them were very prompt and helpful. The room with which comes with it's own ensuite was lovely (nice size bed and comfy) and all very clean. It also came with the added bonus of having it's own private entrance. Furthermore, there is an amazing view of the sea from both the room and the outside terrace. There were tea and coffee making facilities provided in the room so no creeping around communal kitchens just to get a quick cuppa! We liked it so much we re-booked to stay for a second time. We highly recommend this place.

  • Valerie's accommodation is beautiful. From the moment we booked to stay with her, she made us feel at ease. She gave us some great ideas for our holiday, and we really felt like she got to know us. On arrival, she gave us a lovely tour and had provided us with everything we could possibly need- she even offered me her hairdryer and straightners! She offered to book a taxi for myself and partner without us even asking, which we thought was just so kind. Her house is beautiful and the scenary from the table outside on the patio/decking is breathtaking. We can't wait to book our next visit, thank you again Valerie!

The house is just a few minutes walk from the centre of town and the bus station. While central it was also lovely and quiet, allowing a great sleep in a comfy bed. Highly recommended.

    Karen2017-06-19T00:00:00Z
  • Nothing bad to say! They went the extra mile to help us plan days out, offered to keep our luggage after the check out time! Lovely lovely cooked breakfast every morning - such lovely people, definitely recommend!!

    Nishita2017-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first stay with Ian and Dawnie, but not the last! Everything went very smoothly from arrival to checkout. The location is great, very central and close to restaurants and shops. Lovely big and airy room complete with coffee/tea/hot chocolate and even a TV that has Netflix. We also really liked that they had cold filtered water in the room that was topped up when needed. The bed is really comfy and we even got slippers to use! We were served a delicious breakfast each morning and could choose from different options. Ian and Dawnie were great hosts and went above and beyond to make our stay a pleasure. If we come back to Newport we will definitely stay with Ian and Dawnie again!

  • It was a real pleasure to stay at Ian's and Dawnie's place! We had a lovely stay, slept very well in the very cozy bed and had a delicious breakfast! They were very kind and allowed us to have a wonderful time on the Isle of Wight! I would definitely come back there and recommend to stay with them ! Thank you so much!

Petit Tor is a sunny Isle of Wight holiday home just over the road from famous Steephill Cove & other secluded beaches, Ventnor Botanic Gardens & Coastal Footpath. Great views, walking, cycling & family-friendly activities. Walk into Ventnor for shops, pubs and restaurants. In micro-climate of 'Britain's Hottest Garden'. Our own large, tropical gardens to dine & relax in. 4 local downs for walkers. Good for couples, families (+ kids) and well behaved dogs. Friendly new owners June 2016.
Petit Tor is a detached 2 bedroom bungalow with a separate living/dining room, kitchen, showroom/toilet, and bedrooms. There is plenty of parking space and a wonderful sub-tropical garden stocked with tropical plants and trees. We offer free wifi and will supply you with an access key in your welcome pack. Wifi signal cannot be guaranteed and can be intermittent.
Petit Tor is situated on the beautiful South East coast of the Isle of Wight opposite Steephill Cove and a few yards walk from the Botanic Gardens. This area is a secret hideaway for those who visit year after year! There is a coastal walking path moments from the door, that takes visitors all around the island with otherwise hidden bays and headlands and secluded beaches on the way. You can stroll into Ventnor for a glass or 2 by the sea, or listen to live music or eat out or take out. Wander to the Ventnor Country Market on Saturday morning or play a game of tennis at the club, watch a screening at the Arts Club – all in easy walking distance. There really is something for everyone.
  • We had an excellent stay at the cottage – a perfect home to retreat to after a day at the beach or one of the island's attractions. It was so great to be able to settle into a quiet house at night, cook, and watch a movie after a long day of fun in the sun. But it was also great to be less than 5 minutes drive from town when we forgot an ingredient or two. The nearby gardens were only so-so for us, but the playground was handy when we needed it one morning.

  • Cosy and comfortable self-contained bungalow very close to Steephill Cove and the botanic gardens. Clean and well-equipped. Petit Tor is within easy walking distance of Ventnor, with its range of shops and amenities, and in January the roads were very quiet and safe.

    Bernadette2017-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • Perfectly located for Botanic Gardens, the house also has its own 'Botanic garden' for visitors. Susie and John looked after us well and the house was just what we needed

    Judith2017-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • It is a lovely house and very clean. It is a few minutes walking distance to the amazing costal path. Very impressing. The kitchen is fully equipped with nearly everything for self-catering. Susie and John are very kind host. I would recommend it for everyone!

  • Brilliant location, simple and clean bungalow with everything we needed and a great welcome - thanks Susie!

    Liz2016-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • A very nice house in a great location! We only came from Southampton but it felt a world away, with sunshine and palm trees all around. The sea and botanical gardens are just a short walk away. A great holiday.

  • Just had a great weekend stay at Petit Tor. A lovely property in a great location, close to all of Ventnor's attractions and handy for the town centre too. Susie and John made us feel very welcome and provided us with everything we needed. We can't wait to come back and will definitely stay for longer next time.

  • We had a really great stay here. The house is beautifully decorated, the beds are very comfortable and you wake up to views of the sea! There is a lovely patio area with comfortable seating. The kitchen is very well supplied with everything you need and Claire was very kind in providing us with milk and bread and some yummy cookies! Claire was there to welcome us and gave us a tour of the house before leaving us to relax. Her communication was excellent both before and during the trip and made us feel very welcome. We would definitely return here and recommend it wholeheartedly.

    Jessica2017-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • The house is absolutely fantastic. The bedrooms are really nice, tastefully decorated. Claire and her sister greeted us outside and made us feel very welcome. Milk, bread and jam was left for us (and more...) Will definitely try and come again. Thanks

    Justin 2017-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • The accommodation is very spacious; light & airy. It was very well looked after...fabulous big bathroom with roll-top bath. Kitchen is ideal size with plenty of seating. Location was great for us but there are a few steps up to the property, which could be an issue for elderly people or those with mobility issues. There is lovely outside seating area/terrace, which is a real sun trap and nice bonus. All in all a very nice property; we would highly recommend a stay there!

Our cosy and comfortable attic suite has views looking over the Brading Downs and the local golf course. It sleeps two and you will have your own private bathroom. We have parking for your car and it's just a fifteen minute walk to the beach!
Situated on the 2nd floor of our home our attic room with its sloping ceilings is very cosy and having the bathroom ensuite gives you total privacy. Views out over the downs and surrounding countryside will only add to the experience. We only have one guest room so you don't need to share our home with other guests.
Our house is located in a quiet residential street. The Island offers something for everyone. Pop festivals, wonderful beaches, good food, outdoor activities etc. If you enjoy walking you can be in the fields and countryside in just two minutes and you are also only a ten to fifteen minute walk from the seaside. Cycling is also popular and there is a place nearby where you can rent bikes by the day. The Island is full of things to do depending on your likes/dislikes we are happy to advise on local tourist attractions etc. You will also find a lot of tourist information leaflets and books in your room.
  • Kerrie and Mike came to meet us at the ferry stop and very kindly waited for us as we had missed the original ferry! It was a welcoming greeting and we were also offered a drink once we arrived. The home is very neat and nicely decorated! A pleasant touch is the map with the locations of all their guests. The house is a short walk from the bus stop and it is in a quiet neighbourhood. The room itself is cosy and the compact shower has a good, warm temperature. The bed is also very comfortable.

    Jennifer2015-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Kerrie and family are very hospitable and their modern home is lovely and also located at the end of a quiet road where there is off-street parking provided. The room has a pleasant views, is light, airy and the ensuite bathroom is a small luxury. So couldn’t really ask for any more. The location was perfect for our short visit for a family wedding and the island really is a step back in time. The IOW ferry is very convenient and we were really lucky with the weather. We are already planning our next trip and will use Airbnb again and Kerrie’s home is highly recommended for a visit to the island.

    Simon2017-04-09T00:00:00Z
  • It was the second time we visited the Island and stay with Kerrie and hers husband. They are lovely! The room is beautiful, confortable and quiet! Perfect! Hightly recommended!

    Marta2017-06-01T00:00:00Z
  • The place was cosy and very clean. The furnishings are modern and staying there was very comfortable! The apartment is an easy walk to the beach and conveniently located near the Sandown and Lake stations. Kerrie is a lovely host who made me feel at home, and even went out of her way to pick me up at night when I was lost around the island. Kerrie and her husband were both very friendly and helpful during my stay. Thank you!

  • It was a great stay, in a beautiful room with a nice and clean bathroom! We had a very relaxing night. From the house you can walk down to the pier, with the beach and great places to eat. Kerrie was very nice and helpful with great tips! I would definitely stay there again!

There is also a wet fish shop in Ventnor where the 'catch' is brought in and you can have it cooked there with chips to take away. A short walk from Fircones is Chale Green Store where you can get a good range of provisions and they also have a cafe which serves light refreshments.
  • Our hosts were welcoming and considerate. The accommodation was spotless, comfortable, and well-equpped. The enclosed garden area meant we could allow our son who has special needs to play and sit outside without concern. The location was perfect - we could be in most parts of the island within 30 minutes. The secluded garden was great for stargazing or animal watching. We loved it and will book again.

  • Jenny and Pete were very welcoming and made our stay extremely enjoyable and relaxing, the apartment was bigger than we expected and accommodated all of us perfectly. They were very helpful with their knowledge of the area and also allowed us to leave the dog with them so we could explore the island without any restrictions. We would definitely come again.

The accomodation was ideal for our needs and is fitted out to a high standard with plenty of useful items in the kitchen for cooks. Beds comfortable and a quiet area of the island so we slept well.

We have a lovely Twin bedroom on the second floor of this charming 280 year old Georgian townhouse, which is situated in Newport on the Isle of Wight. The room has 2 comfortable beds, dressing table, chest of drawers, bedside cabinet, hanging facilities for clothes, a table and reading chair(URL HIDDEN)The dormer windows have views of Church Litten Park and town centre.
Our house is a minutes walk to the main bus station, where you can ride to any village or town on the island. Many of them have historic buildings, including Osborne House and Carisbrooke castle, also beautiful sandy beaches, restaurants, pubs and cafes. Newport also has a lot to offer, including unusual shops, arts and craft galleries, supermarkets and much more. Also, we are fortunate to have a superb restaurant next door, run by a Michelin star chef.
  • It was a wonderful stay! Brenda is kind. In addition, the room is not only convenient but also beautiful:)

    Megumi2017-06-07T00:00:00Z
  • Brenda, Anthony and Mr Clease(the cat) are brilliant hosts and truly make you feel at home in their lovely Georgian house. Brenda's home is not only beautiful, but also well kept, spotless, warm, friendly and full of character. Their home is centrally located in Newport a stones throw away from all the shops, eateries and bus station. I am glad we chose brendas place for our stay and would highly recommend her place and definitely revisit!!

    Sabina2017-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely love this place! Brenda is a wonderful hostess who is always with a smile. She introduced the house to us nicely and gave us great suggestion about planning the trips. The house is in great position and just a few steps to both the bus station and supermarket. Room is clean and cozy, best for two people to live for short term. I would definitely revisit this wonderful house and recommend it to people that would pay Isle of Wight a visit, for the great hospitality of Brenda and the one and only, MR CLEASE!

    Ye2017-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • Great couple of nights staying at Brenda's for an island cycling trip. Warm welcome, unexpected breakfast provided and clean & comfortable rooms - ideal!

    Daniel2017-04-29T00:00:00Z
  • From the minute I arrived at Brenda's house to the minute I departed five days later, I felt very welcomed. Brenda's hospitality was great and I was made to feel at home with access at any time to the kitchen and facilities. My room was perfect and although I stopped there alone, the additional bed in the room makes it very suitable for two people. I found the house including my room and bathroom to be very clean. The location of the house is ideal, especially as it is just one minutes walk to the main bus station in Newport. Brend'a sparkling personality provided the icing on the cake to a great stay. It was that good, I'll soon be back there again for another four nights!

    David2017-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Brenda is fantastic host, very kind and open person. Great communication before arrival as well as during the stay. Location of Brenda's property is perfect - just as not even 1 minute walking distance from the shops, restaurants, coffee shops, bus station, cabs etc. The room is charming, very clean and absolutely cosy. I enjoyed the stay at Brenda's a lot and wish to come back again. 100% recommended. Many thanks Piotr

  • Lovely old tall Georgian house with lots of character and quirky rooms. Close to shops and transport. Isle of Wight lovely place to explore. Brenda is one of a kind! Goes put of her way to make you welcome as does Anthony. Relaxed atmosphere and a home from home. Took my Mum there for 4 nights and she loved it.

    Marian2017-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • This house is quite quirky as are its owners who love and cherish the house and work very hard for their visitors. However, if you are elderly or inform, this is not the house for you.The spiral staircase is narrow and steep, and there is only one toilet for 7-8 people which can be inconvenient especially if you have to get up tn the night. There is limited dining space when there are 7 visitors which means one can be a bit restricted in when one is able to eat a meal. The place is a bit like the hold Youth Hostels in that people are friendly and helpful and one has to 'muck-in' and be prepared to share with other visitors. Price- wise all this is reflected and for a short stay for those under 65ish and mobile it's good value for money.

The room is in a house based in Newport on the Isle of Wight close to a shop that is open till late. The space is small but has what you need. It is highly suitable for short stay guests such as cyclists, walkers and explorers. It`s designed for guests who want a roof over their heads with some comfort, with on-suit facilities and self contained...There is a sofa bed and high sleeper so two people can stay, but as the room is small, it is really suitable for one...
My self contained bolt hole is suitable for a solo traveller: e.g Cyclist, Rambler, Island Explorer, sportsperson
The house and room is located in a built up neighborhood. There is a narrow driveway and garden where you can sit at a picnic bench. The washing machine and dryer are outside with pay meter. Takes 20p coins (used to take pound coins, but won`t accept the new £1 coin ) The room has an electric meter that takes pound coins. even the new £1 coin..
  • Good location for Newport and local shops near by for essentials. Room was clean and had plenty of facilities.

    Gareth2017-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • This place is absolutely fine and gorgeous! About one minute walk is a fish and chips restaurant, which sells delicious and cheap meals, and a small grocery store. The apartment itself provides you with everything you need. It was clean and absolutely lovely. David was a great host and gave me alot of information about the island and what things I could do there. The central bus station is reachable in about five minutes walking and you can reach every point on the island from there.

    Isabell2017-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • David has been firendly and helpful. He provided much details on the room. The sofa would need replacement. The room contains everything you would need, as it says it is elf contained. Perfect for me for my bike ride and Devid provided maps. Recommended

  • Everybody has a place where they like going back, for me it's the Isle of Wight. It was my second time visting the isle and first time staying in David's place. He is a great host, so kind and outgoing person. He gave me as much information about the isle as he could. And trust me I had a lots of questions about the isle. What's more he picked me up at the station. The room is a great deal if you're a true travel and used to travel low cost. It's simple but it has everything what you need - a bed, an easy shower with hot water, a toilet, a small tv, towels and even a wasching-machine in the yard. You can cook in the room - there is plenty of stuff for cooking. The room is located nearly in the heart of Newport which is great place where to start exploring the isle because you can catch a bus from the station to everywhere. It wasn't my last time on the isle and definitely next time I am not going to look for another place where to stay. I'll go straight for David's room. I have been living in the UK since last summer and I travel a lot but David is the best host I have ever met.

  • Did exactly what it said on the tin. Perfect for a few nights away as a solo traveller...compact and everything in one space. David is a true gent, kind and goes the extra yard. For the money I don't think you'd get a better place if you're travelling alone

    David2017-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • David was very informative and friendly. I would highly recommend the room as it's good value because it is like a self contained flat...you literally have everything one needs to be selfcatering. I realy enjoyed the stay and it also very close to newport so location is perfect too. I would certainly stay there again. Thankyou David for making me so at home.

We provide fluffy towels and luxury guest toiletries, with marshmallow duvets and crisp clean bed linen.
Ventnor has a distinct Mediterranean feel, with it's sandy bay beach and microclimate which enables plants to grow here that you would normally see on the continent. There are some excellent restaurants all within walking distance, as is the beach, the Award Winning Ventnor Park and The Botanical Gardens are all on our doorstep. What more could you ask for ???
  • My wife and I spent 3 nights at Clarence House. Gillian was a great host, meeting us at the apartment and showing us around. The apartment was spotlessly clean, had everything we needed including dishwasher, washing machine, oven and microwave. There is a cute terrace on which we would have used for breakfast if we weren't a little unlucky with the rain. The house is on a quiet road where there was always ample street parking, making it easy to travel around the island and park back outside upon your return. The apartment is a 3 minute walk into town and about the same through the botanical gardens to the coastal walk and some breath taking views of the English Channel. Gillian gave some great recommendations for dinner/lunch, the food was delicious of the ones we tried. Those we missed will be on our list to try when we come back. Whatever your reason for visiting the Isle of Wight, this is a great location at which to stay. Close enough to everything, but just far enough away to be quiet and relaxing. We will definitely be coming back and spending longer with Gillian and Robert at Clarence House.

  • We had a really great time at Clarence House. The kitchen is well equipped for self catering and the whole apartment is beautifully furnished. It's only a ten minute walk from the town centre and there is ample parking on the street outside the house. There is loads to do in Ventnor and beyond (within in a 15-20 driving radius) and we were provided with a list of restaurant recommendations which was helpful. There is free wifi and a TV with a DVD player. Gillian was very nice to us and was happy to answer any questions we had. Overall a very enjoyable stay.

  • Although it rained the whole time we had a great stay! Gillian was a great host communicating with us throughout and everything was there for a brilliant break! Don't hesitate to book!

  • Gillian was an excellent host, extremely helpful throughout, the flat was well appointed and presented perfectly, nice quiet location abd we had a lovely stay, we would recommend a stay there without hesitation,

  • the apartment was fine, as listed, spacious and well furnished

    Keith2016-03-29T00:00:00Z
  • What a fantastic place, the apartment was clean, beautifully decorated and equipped with all the little extras that might pop up should you need, for example, little containers for a picnic, a cool bag, so many nice little extras. A beautiful garden, fab location and Gillian was absolutely fantastic. Highly recommended. Thank you so much x

  • We had a very enjoyable 3 night stay in the Victoria Apartment. We arrived a bit later than expected but Gillian was very welcoming and friendly. There are lots of leaflets and guides in the hall which is really helpful if you haven't got a pre-planned idea of what to do, and a list of recommended local restaurants. The apartment was lovely - just as per the photographs - and very well equipped. It was perfect for a comfortable stay for a couple. There were a couple of extra lovely touches - chocolates on the pillows and bathroom gels/creams. The location is great - quiet but only 10 minutes walk from the town centre, where there is a cluster of good restaurants and bars. We went to Fogg's on the first night for a birthday celebration on Gillian's recommendation. We had the local fish specials - generous portions, good service and all in all good value. Steephill Cove is a must go to - a very sweet little cove with a cafe and couple of restaurants (note, many beach-side places close at the end of September so check openings first). You can reach it by walking through the park opposite the house, up to the outside gym on top and down the other side to the seafront. Turn right and you end up at the Cove, turn left and you arrive at the Ventnor Esplanade. The cosy Spyglass Inn on the esplanade has live music - we saw a great local blues band there (check website for details). Being out of season, Ventnor was pretty quiet but that's what we liked - its old world grandeur, peaceful surroundings, and good restaurants. The apartment was lovely and we would definitely return.

    Connie2015-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • We found Clarence House to be a delightful location in many ways. Firstly our hosts were very friendly and welcoming (advised about Ferry bookings, milk in the fridge and very responsive to questions about the locality). Secondly, the apartment was cosy and tastefully decorated - I'd say 'bright and welcoming' too. There were some nice touches - an I-Pod and picnic hamper just waiting to be used. We looked in one of the other apartments, which was delightful. Lovely gardens, with lots of flowers and a classy terrace with coloured parasols. YES, we'd definitely return! Thirdly, Clarence House is located on probably one of the best roads in Ventnor - close enough to walk into town, opposite an award winning park and just a few minutes from the coast path.

  • Went to IOW for a few days cycling and stayed while passing through Sandown. Steve was an excellent host, and super helpful. The room was great, very clean and with a nice comfy bed. The location is also great, just a couple of strides from the main high street, very good value!

  • Steve has a nice quiet place, but is still very close to the beach, shops and places to eat and drink, and also to public transport. We stayed 2 nights and had a good and peaceful sleep both nights. The bathroom was always available when we needed it and was right outside our bedroom. Steve was ready to welcome us and explained all we needed to know. We had tea and coffee in our room, and we also had access to the kitchen if needed. We had a lovely short stay and would have no hesitation in staying again.

  • We had absolutely amazing time at Little Gem. House was fully equipped and had all beautiful little touches that made us feel very welcomed. Debbie was amazing host, very caring and warm person. If you want to stay anywhere in Shanklin, Little Gem is definitely the place. Hope to see you soon!

  • The apartment was exactly as described and just what we wanted for a long weekend; it's a great base for exploring the island. We appreciated the privacy afforded by the separate entrance and terrace. Everything was clean and spacious and the bed was wonderfully comfy. The stairs into the apartment are very steep - be warned if you have knee problems! Easy parking right in front of the house and literally dozens of restaurants within walking distance. (A very good pizza from Mamma Mia). All in all a really good place to stay.

    Kate2014-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place hosted by Debbie and Andrew, had everything we needed and so convenient for shops, beach and some nice restaurants. Debbie recommended a few places to visit which were great. The apartment was very clean and a lovely touch of the bottle of wine, break, milk, eggs, tea and coffee all left for us for our first morning breakfast. The bed was big and very comfortable and the kitchen well equipped. Big bathroom, with a window, which pleased my other half..... Would definitely return to this lovely place.

  • Debbie could not have been a better host. We had a wonderful time and the flat is even nicer in person. Debbie greeted us with a loaf of bread and milk and there were groceries in the kitchen. The flat is in the perfect location to enjoy your stay in Shanklin and I should know because I was born in Shanklin! Very highly recommended.

    Stephen2014-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • This is a cracking place to stay, and it all started with the host who was welcoming and friendly. The place itself is a 'granny annex' adjacent to the family home, but super private, even has its own patio sun trap. The rooms are tastefully furnished, with a huge bed and good quality bedding. The kitchen has more than you'll need for a weekend away and, fittingly. the host provided more the basics as welcome pack. Even wine! It's close to pubs, restaurants, and the beach but despite that the accommodation is quiet and peaceful. Would visit again!

  • We had a brilliant stay at Andrew's flat- even stayed an extra night. Our ferry was late and he graciously came back again late to meet us and let us in. Great shop and activities access. Sunny and pleasantly quiet for a flat just off a shopping street. Thanks to both Andrew and Shannon for great communication and flexibility!

The house is very clean and equipped with every comfort, the bedroom is perfect for two people with plenty of space. The bed has a really comfortable mattress. We slept very well! Andrew is an excellent host! He came to welcome us to the harbor and went home together. Communication really easy and he's really nice. Simple and flexible check in and check out. He cared for every detail and prepared an excellent banana cake for our breakfast. It was perfect for a few days, it was exactly what we were looking for. Andrew was a lovely host whose attention to detail and made it a fantastic place to stay. A lovely place, we had such lovely stay here! Highly recommend it !!

Rosie's Place is a bright and airy 1st floor split level apartment in a quiet area with views of Sandown Bay and within walking distance of the beach and High St. It's well equipped & beautifully presented with its own lovely sunny garden, free wifi and private off road parking.
Imagine enjoying a freshly brewed Nespresso for breakfast whilst taking in the beautiful view of Culver and the sea. Or maybe strolling out for breakfast at a beachside cafe. You might spend the day at the beach or hop on a train and go exploring. Perhaps walk the coastal path. All these things are minutes from Rosie's Place. We love to cook so the kitchen is exceptionally well equipped. But you could walk into town to eat out or get some fish & chips to eat straight out of the bag. Or even relax in the garden and enjoy a BBQ. After that visit one of the many local pubs for a quiet drink. Or sit in the cosy lounge and watch something you have recorded on the PVR, or one of our many great DVDs. The master bedroom has views of the sea and St Johns Church, and has a King size bed and feature fire place. It also has its own TV/DVD. The second bedroom has views of Brading Down and has twin beds and its own TV/DVD player. The bathroom has a bath and separate walk in shower. There is a separate WC with wash hand basin. All linen and towels are included, but if you feel like it there is a washer/tumble dryer in the kitchen. Wifi is free and there are no extra charges for heating or electricity. We can provide a cot and high chair, and there are games for children and adults to enjoy. There is off road parking for two cars.
There is so much more to Sandown and the Isle of Wight than beautiful beaches and the sunny climate. We have a fully functioning pier that has a small fun fair, crazy golf and a bowling alley within. Sandown offers fishing and numerous kinds of water sports, plus tennis and golf all within 20 minutes walk of Rosie's Place. You can visit the dinosaur museum or, further afield, you could visit our personal favourite, Osborne House (Queen Victoria's residence) or Carisbrooke Castle. For children there is Robin Hill Country Park, the IoW steam railway, Alum Bay (all those coloured sands) and that childhood favourite, Blackgang Chine. For animal lovers we have the Sandown zoo within walking distance, plus Monkey Haven and Sealife Encounter to name but three.
  • Lovely clean and cosy place to stay near to the seaside. Rosie and Andrew were very helpful as well - thank you!

  • One word to sum up this beautiful apartment and that's perfect! Exactly as seen in the photos, a very spacious comfortable apartment which also offers private parking! The owners have thought of EVERYTHING to ensure that your stay is perfect. You literally couldn't ask for anywhere better to stay. This would be a great family apartment, or even a couple wanting plenty of homely space! Communication from Andrew and Rosie was excellent, they got straight back in touch and sent clear instructions on staying at the apartment. Thank you Andrew and Rosie for an idilic stay in your apartment, it really did feel like home away from home.

    Laura2017-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • It was a lovely home with great views. Andrew and Rosie put a lot of effort into the welcome pack. We had a brilliant time, and would definitely recommend it.

  • Wonderful property in a beautiful setting just opposite lovely church. The house is a delight to stay in and everything you could possibly need is provided. If you have children, huge amount of table games, legos and animals provided. For adults, lots of books and movies in the house... Cot bed and baby chair was also available. We even managed to find and fix temporary staircase gates, very useful when you have 1 year old boy, who just decided to make his first steps. Owners could not have been more helpful, great communication throughout including sending suggested directions from the ferry to the house. Many thanks would definitely recommend to anyone else.
