  • Very quaint, tidy little house for 4 of us! The basic necessities and some extras like orange juice and bread were provided on arrival, which ensured a comfortable stay. We were largely left to our own devices but the owners were just next door in case we needed them. Thanks Hilary for being such a thoughtful host, I will definitely recommend this listing!

  • Despite only staying for a little over 24 hours Hilary and her husband made us feel right at home and everything was as expected. Four of us shared the space as we were all attending a local event, it worked really well. The cottage was as described, very clean and comfortable. We will definitely be back again next year, many thanks for having us and helping out with everything we asked for!

  • A lovely little spot, perfect for my three boys and I (and our little dog) whilst visiting my sister. Great communication and everything plus more was there for us.

  • Thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay at The Piggery. The cottage is fully equipped and very comfortable. We found Bread Milk, Coffee, tea, juice, butter jams. In fact all the requirements for a cuppa and breakfast. The patio doors to the large garden was just what our Labrador "Lola" needed to wonder about and play in. Hilary and John were available should we have needed them although we met them for the briefest of moments. There are many menus and pamphlets for local takeaways , restaurants and things to do. Can only give the highest of praise for this property. Enjoy.

  • Thank you for a lovely stay Hilary. We stayed here for a friends wedding at Iscoyd Park and booked 12 months in advance to make sure we had somewhere to stay. Hilary was really helpful when answering our questions about how far the venue was and the best options for taxis etc. She kept in touch and sent useful directions several weeks before we arrived. It was easy to find with the directions despite us arriving a little later than planned so it was getting dark. The accommodation was lovely and just what we needed as we were in and out over the two nights we stayed. The kitchen and living area were bigger than we had expected which was a nice surprise. Whilst the bedroom was more compact, there was still plenty of room for us to both move around, get ready etc. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely visit again.

If you're looking for immaculate facilities, trouser presses, co-ordinated bathroom suites and the tedious synthetic of a Travel Lodge type bedroom then Hawthorn Villa is probably not for you. However if you don't mind the clucking of hens, cows mooing, gurgling in the plumbing and, shock horror, the possibility of dust, if you search hard enough, and maybe the buzzing of the bees loitering in the bushes then a quiet nights sleep and a restful stay are yours for the asking.
If you'd like to sit outdoors or have a bbq then provided the weather is obliging you are free to enjoy the garden space. Weary cyclists can be sure of a warm welcome and a secure place for their bike.
The house is on a country lane and near to the little market town of Wem where there is a supermarket and plenty of smaller shops such as greengrocers, butchers, grocers etc to buy provisions. There are several tea rooms and cafes, plus take-aways and a fish and chip shop. The Castle hotel on the main street has an evening menu and there is also a restaurant called The Drayton Gate and an Indian restaurant.
  • Gabrielle and Tim were absolutely amazing hosts - kind, and thoughtful, and accommodating.

  • Gabrielle was very welcoming, and was flexible about my arrival time. The room was clean, neat and tidy with facilities to make a drink if required. Breakfast was in a sunny room just off the kitchen and was very enjoyable. Thank You Gabrielle for a very pleasant stay.

  • Garbrielle and Tim were very friendly, I would recommend their place. I stayed for a friends wedding and when it poured with rain Gabrielle kindly offered to give me a lift to the pub, rather than having to walk!

  • Gabrielle and Tim have a lovely, cosy room in a really quiet spot just outside Wem. They are both so friendly and welcoming and made me feel right at home. They have a very impressive vinyl collection as well!

    £39 Hawthorn Villa

Hawthorn Villa and the Stableroom are just outside the small market town of Wem, Shropshire. The area is very picturesque and rural. The Stableroom offers you a private en suite bedroom separate from the main house and with the opportunity to sleep a 3rd person if required. A further double room is available in the house for bigger groups.
Our house is on a country lane near the little market town of Wem where there is a supermarket and plenty of smaller shops such as greengrocers, butchers, grocers to buy provisions. There are also several cafes and tea rooms plus take-aways and a fish and chip shop. The Castle Hotel on the main street has an evening menu (excluding Sundays) and there is a restaurant called the Drayton Gate and an Indian.
  • We stayed in the Stable (Website hidden by Airbnb) was very quaint and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.Gabrielle and Tim are wonderful hosts. They were very easy to get on with and made us very welcome. The location of the property is very good for exploring the area.We loved visiting Shrewsbury and a lovely little village called Much Wenlock. We ate at The Castle in Wem.The food was very good and excellent value. We also had a takeaway from a Chinese in Wem which was excellent. We will definitely return.Thank you Gabrielle and Tim.

  • Lovely place and lovely people. Beautifully clean place and lovely thoughtful touches like letting my little boy feed the chickens. Would recommend.

    Laura 2017-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • From the outside the Stable Room looks like a garden shed. It is quite a delight to open the door and find a brightly furnished bedroom with shower room attached. The room is on the small side. No problem for a lone traveller. Okay for two, but if your party uses the foldaway bed for a 3rd person, you will have to tread very carefully. A car or bicycle is advisable, but you can walk to and from Wem town centre in about 25 minutes. The off-road public footpath is great as long as you have proper footwear and good directions (it isnt well signposted). I was nervous walking on the main road outside the house as there is no footpath and several bends with limited visibility. Gabrielle is a friendly, helpful and easy-going host.

  • We only had a brief one night stay but the room fitted our needs perfectly. The house is in a beautiful rural location and we had a very peaceful nights sleep! Would happily stay again if in the area.

  • Travelling was me, two daughters aged 18 and 9 and our Labradoodle, Baxter. On arrival we were greeted by Gabrielle and her husband Tim. They were a lovely couple, very friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Their knowledge of the local area and local stories fascinated us. We were given some leaflets of places to go in the area which was very helpful, as the booking was a last minute decision and we hadn't been to Shropshire before. The stable room was amazing and quite big. The room had a single bed, and a day bed which had a slide out bed underneath. There was plenty of room for the four of us. The bathroom was bigger than we expected too. Towels and bedding were supplied which made life easier for us, and there was tea, coffee and sugar in the room along with a kettle. We stayed for three nights in the stable room going exploring during the day and returning in the evening. Gabrielle and Tim were interested each evening to hear of the places we had been and what we had planned for the next day. Gabrielle even asked Esmé if she would like to help her feed the chickens. We really enjoyed our stay in the stable room and will definitely book again to stop as there is still plenty more exploring to be done. We couldn't have wished for more friendlier, helpful and accommodating hosts. Thank you so much!!

Brilliant location - a stone's throw from bars and restaurants of Broughton St, tram stop, Waverley station, Princes St, Assembly Rooms George St, Festival and Fringe venues eg The Stand, Botanic Gardens yet on a quiet cycle route. Built post war - the Napoleonic 1805 This gorgeous one-bedroom flat is on the second floor, overlooking gardens and tennis courts, bathed in sunshine, still with original stone flagstones, wooden shutters, cornices, but with modern touches: wifi, TV, shower & bath
Fabulous location: great bars and restaurants on Broughton St The Stand - great comedy all five minutes away on York Place St Andrew Square - for Christmas markets, comedy, food and George St bars Yet on a very quiet cycle route so good nights sleep guaranteed especially working shutters and thick curtains. Scotland Street made famous by local author Alexander McCall Smith's series of Scotland St books It is a proper home as I live, cook and enjoy living in the flat so usually rent a room in the flat when I am at home and then rent out the whole flat when I go away.
  • Great location and surprisingly quiet! Lovely spacious flat with great light and lots of original features. Well equipped and everything worked. This is the owners home and she rents out her spare bedroom when she is not there. Lots of information for guests on nearby shops, bars etc. Was easy walking distance to the city centre, lovely part of town.

All the arrival and departure information was very clear, the only pity was that we didn't get to meet Nell herself on this occassion!

Bedrooms upstairs are equally delicious. You get comfy King-sized beds, piles of pillows, crisp white linen....you also get TVs hidden behind mirrors.....and great en-suite bathrooms. Back downstairs, life spills into the garden, church bells peal, roses ramble and the shropshire way passes outside."

  • A beautiful setting with easy access to many places within Shropshire. Viki was the perfect host whilst we stayed at The Coach House. The breakfast was delicious and enjoyed by both adults and children. It was lovely having a fridge to be able to chill drinks and a lounge area and garden to relax when we got back at the end of the day. The bedrooms were spacious and homely and had an added bonus of having a couple of comfy chairs in at the start or end of the day. If I was visiting the area again I would most definitely stay again.

  • We had a wonderful stay at this gorgeous, well presented home. Helen met us and is an absolute delight. Nothing was too much trouble and she accommodated us at short notice! The views are beautiful and the local shop is well stocked and has everything you need. The house is spacious, well decorated and the beds are incredibly comfortable! We would definitely stay again and highly recommend.

  • Beautiful and very large accommodation. Helen was incredibly hospitable. Highly recommend.

  • Olivet is a lovely property and deceptively spacious inside, the children (and adults) had plenty of room to play in the front room and the views from the front are lovely! The bedrooms are big and the beds incredibly comfortable. Each kitted out with some of the largest fluffy towels I've seen. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you might need and the oven is awesome! The checking in process was relaxed and much needed with some of us getting stuck in traffic when travelling from a far. The Red Lion is a great local pub with friendly staff, real good food and beer, and catered well for the little ones. Enjoyed a walk at Nescliffe Hill Country Park Walk on New Years Eve, certainly worth a visit.

    Megan2017-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place with a nice little garden at the front and unblocked country views. With peaceful surroundings and homely within, Olivet was a comfortable haven for my family to return to at the end of each day. Helen made sure that our sleeping arrangements were impeccable. She went the extra mile to provide a brand new baby cot and high quality bedding for my toddler son so that he too could have a good rest. Helen was helpful and easily contactable. We had a great stay.

    Keynes2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • We (a group of 6) stayed at Helen's whilst attending a friend's function on nearby Yeaton. Helen was extremely accomodating from the start, arranging pick up/ drop of keys to suit our arrival time (which we changed last minute, meaning she was unable to meet us in person) and even leaving us a few breakfast bits in the fridge. She also kindly allowed us to check out late, so we were able to enjoy a laid back brunch and relax together in the gorgeous garden today, before heading off. Helen really did bend over backwards to make our weekend as simple and enjoyable as possible! The house itself is lovely - much more spacious than I was expecting, with a very homely atmosphere. There was plenty of room for the six of us and the setting was lovely - despite being by a fairly main road the FANTASTIC views make you feel like you are in the middle of nowhere. Just stunning. The little terrace at the back is a real sun trap too. My only regret of the whole weekend is that we didn't get to spend more time there!!

Your room has ample space to sit in or when the weather's good you will have easy access to sit out in my back garden on the decking if you wish. There's a desk, wifi and ethernet cable so working will be easy and comfortable. You can even plug into the TV/Monitor and use it as a workstation, i have provided an SVGA Cable. I'm born and raised in Shrewsubry so my brain is packed with everything the town of flowers has to offer!
I'm very active, i run and attend regular classes at the gym, so i can provide you with some excellent running routes and information on the local gyms. I can arrange spin classes and other classes for you.

My place is close to the town centre, railway station and bus station. You’ll love my place because of the large comfy bed, you have your own space and it's great value. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers and business traveller. See our other listings - we also have a single bed in the house and a double bed in a caravan listed on Airbnb, so can accommodate larger groups.
This is a double bedroom on the first floor of our private house. It has a large and comfortable double bed, wardrobe and cupboard space and cooking facilities in the shared kitchen downstairs. There is heating and electric lighting and a kettle with tea & coffee provided. Guests are welcome to use the bathroom, shower and toilet in the house. There is wireless fibre broadband available to guests at no extra charge. There is off road parking in the driveway. The house stands near a main road, so guests must be aware that there is some traffic noise, especially in the morning.
The house is about 20 minutes walk from the town centre, 15 minutes walk from the station, and on a regular bus route to both. There is the Dolphin Inn, a great local pub, about 5 minutes walk away, where they serve real ales and a good range of food and have occasional music nights. There is a corner shop (One Stop) about 5 minutes away, a Tesco Express about 8 minutes away and a large supermarket (Morrisons) about 15 - 20 minutes on foot. We are also within a 5 minute walk of three Chinese takeaways, an Indian takeaway, a chip shop & a Pizza Hut takeaway. We are also very close to Shrewsbury Flaxmill Maltings, the first iron framed building in the world. This has a Visitors Centre, which is open every Friday, Saturday and Sunday 10am to 4pm from March to October. It's well worth a visit!

We have 1 room available in our large and welcoming family home. The room is advertised as a single but can accommodate 2 people although the bed is adjacent to the window, but is very comfortable! We're a 10-15 minute walk from the train station and the town centre, with parking available. We will be as flexible as we can regarding check-in times but please note that we are a working family so sometimes are not home until late afternoon/early evening.
The room is in a welcoming family home in an area close to the town centre. With over 25 years of living in Shrewsbury we can provide recommendations, fun facts and stories about our town. There are currently 3 people living in the house, my parents, Siobhan and Ian, and myself, Mica. We're a friendly bunch and growing up our home was always a warm and welcome hub for our friends and family, we hope you feel the same if you decide to come and stay!
We're close to town and the River Severn. There are some great walking routes and historical buildings in the vicinity, with plenty of play parks for kids. There are also local shops and takeaways within a few minutes walk

This converted annexe has two large bedrooms downstairs and an open plan sitting room /kitchen upstairs. The annex has air conditioning and underfloor heating in the wetroom (shower only) and is fully equipped for a really comfortable night or two away from home.
The Annex is set in a quiet unspoilt setting on the fringe of Shrewsbury, overlooking open country side and the River Severn yet within walking distance of the town centre. Relax and enjoy the privacy of having your very own space in a unique setting.
The Annex is situated at the bottom of a quiet unpaved country lane, (with no passing traffic) approximately 400 metres from the nearest residential road. With direct access (100 metres) onto the Severn Way ( Britain's longest riverside marked footpath -223 miles) the annex is in an ideal spot for walking or fishing.
  • Great location, very convenient to town and yet incredibly peaceful. The addition of breakfast items left for us was very welcome with a young family.

    Emma2015-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • Annex was as described, set in a lovely location and of a high quality. Communication and instructions from Sonia were excellent. Some lovely touches to make our stay seamless and as enjoyable as possible. We only stayed 1 night but would be more than suitable for a longer family holiday. Thank you for a lovely stay!

    dani2015-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • Accommodation was as described with all the amenities needed for our one night stay.

    David2015-12-07T00:00:00Z
  • Sonia was warm and friendly and even though we didn't meet her, she was helpful throughout our stay. The Annexe is quirky and cosy, the beds comfortable and the area very quiet. Lovely and highly recommended.

  • We didn't get to meet Sonia however she gave us very clear instructions on how to collect the keys, use lights etc. The annex is spacious and was perfect for our weekend get away. comfy , clean and tidy . Sonia also left us some milk which was greatly appreciated. A walk in to the town took us around 45mins+ however we also used the bus which stops not far from the annex. if using a taxi i would recommend booking in advance expect anything up to a two hour wait ( this might be as it was so near Christmas though ) aside from that I can't fault anything and would stay here again. Thanks Sonia Hayley

  • Sonia's Annex is lovely and spacious. It is in an ideal location, close to Shrewsbury but in peaceful quiet countryside. The Annex is very clean and well appointed and provided all that was needed for a pleasant and comfortable stay.

  • My husband and I wanted somewhere to stay while visiting family, and this was ideal. The annex is at the end of a country lane but only a short drive to the centre of Shrewsbury. The accommodation is new, very clean, peaceful and private. It has all you need for a short visit, and I would book here again. Instructions to arrive and access the property were clear. We arrived on a Sunday evening so the milk that Sonia left in the fridge was very welcome.

  • Home away from home. A beautiful cottage in a quiet area of Shrewsbury with a ten minute walk to town and the train station. Within five minutes walk you have a selection of nice local restaurants and coffee shops. Would recommend the old shed and Umai Japanese restaurant. Easy access to the cottage wether you are travelling by public transport or your own car - parking in a safe and secure spot right outside the cottage and you won't have to move your car until you leave! All the amenities you could want and ask for to make your stay extra special. The owner has really taken time and care with this cute cottage and it shows throughout. Would definitely stay again if we are ever in Shrewsbury!!

    Amie2017-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • Wow - what a charming little cottage! Angela has left nothing to chance with some very welcoming touches. The place was absolutely spotlessly clean, the linen fresh and crisp and the towels white and fluffy. Angela was attentive and answered my messages and calls almost immediately. My husband didn't believe we'd be so close to town but it really was only a short walk away. We were really fascinated by history of the mansion never imagining it to be so old. We would absolutely love to return if we were ever back in Shrewsbury and nor would we hesitate to recommend it to anyone else!

    Jannette2017-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • One of our favourites, Angela's place ticks all of the boxes for us. Superb cottage, very quiet, but located close to the town centre. A very high standard of cleanliness and facilities. Shrewsbury is a fabulous place to visit. Everything was in easy walking distance from the cottage. Excellent museum and other places of historical interest. Shrewsbury has a lovely cathedral but it is not designated a city because it is catholic. Lots of places to eat and drink. We intend to visit again in summertime - and will stay at Angela's place.

Rhian came and introduced herself and text to check all was well, the property is large and clean and the wood burner kept both the lounge and the bedroom above nice and toasty in the evenings. The property is only a 10 minute stroll from the centre of Shrewsbury and very close to the river for a early morning run, excellent parking for smaller cars right outside the property and larger vehicles a few streets away, we would stay here again if it's available when we visit the area.

Relax with your loved one in the cosy Grace room with a wonderfully comfortable kingsize bed for maximum relaxation. With original fireplace and period furniture. All the comforts of home, yours to enjoy together. Enjoy an award winning breakfast too
The dining room is always open and you are welcome to help yourselves to bottled water, milk and juices from the fridge at any time. You are welcome to store your own food/drinks here too. You may also use the microwave to heat up food. There are plates and cutlery and glasses always accessible.
Shrewsbury is a prominent town in Shropshire often referred to as "the gateway to Wales" but it has a rich and varied history. Charles Darwin was born and raised here and you will find references to him throughout the town. We have many old buildings going back 500 years or more, and there are over 500 listed buildings. The Abbey Church is just a 5 minute walk from us, home to the fictional detective monk, Brother Cadfael.

  • Louise's home was very tidy, expertly decorated and very cozy. She was a wonderful host who was willing to provide tips on things to do and places to see while we visited. It was a pleasure staying with Louise and I would recommend it to all!

  • What a lovely B&B in such a central location. Louise was a great hostess ensuring we knew where to go and what to see in our very short stay. Much appreciated. The breakfast was great. The room was spacious and the bed very comfortable.

  • Alison and Gary´s place are wonderful! Very cozy and lovely outside. We were able to check in later then agreed on the website which was really helpful.

    Sarah2017-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • Stayed at Alison & Gary's flat for 2 nights. The communication with Alison was smooth. Gary picked me up from the train station. The flat is located at the bottom of Alison & Gary's house and overlooking River Severn. Roomy, light and airy flat. And warm. Comfortable bed and nice working warm shower. Functional kitchen and well-stocked with the basics such as coffee, tea, milk, bread, jam. I would definitely recommend if you want to have a relaxing time in Shrewsbury.

  • Stayed here for two nights. It was exactly what we required. Property was clean, well equipped and hosts were friendly and helpful. It was very quiet and in a great location very central and only took us 20 mins to reach the centre. Thank you will recommend.

  • Alison and her family were very welcoming towards us. The flat is very private, quiet, comfy and clean. I would strongly recommend it.

  • Good place to explore the town and surroundings. If used by 3 guests space is a little bit tight. It tends to be dark, but terrace in the garden is nice. Can for sure be recommended!

Lovely 3 bedroom house on a quiet residential street, yet only a 10 minute walk to the hustle bustle of historic Shrewsbury. In a popular residential area for families and couple with local amenities. This is strictly a non-smoking house ( both inside and the garden) as a family home
A semi detached house in a no-through road which makes it a very quiet home, and within walking a 10 min walk to all that Shrewsbury has to offer. The house is a lovely contemporary space, retaining period features. A fantastic space for friends and families alike - just read out reviews. As you enter the house, off the hallway on the right is a cosy lounge. Then into a separate dining room with working fireplace. For us this room is the centre of the house. The dining rooms leads onto the kitchen which has has a double smeg oven. Through to the downstairs bathroom with shower over bath. We have a combi boiler so always hot water. Upstairs ( please note the stairs are steep) there are 3 bedrooms. To the right there is a good sized room which can be set up as a Queen Bed (actual measurement 180cm x 190cm) or as 2 single beds. There is an small single room which adjoins this room and is ideally suited to a child although we have had adults sleep in here very comfortably. This room is set up with a comfortable John Lewis day bed with topper for extra comfort. To the left of the stairs there is another good sized room, which again can be set up as a Queen Bed or 2 single beds. The queen beds are set up with toppers so you'd never guess these are 2 singles, and by doing so provide very generous sized beds In this room you have a small room to hang clothes. Both bedrooms have black out curtains, and being a quiet road also means a good nights sleep. The house has wifi, and hive heating system which can be controlled remotely should you arrive late. We can offer late access if needed. There is a lovely back garden. This is strictly a non-smoking house ( both inside and the garden) as a family house
Shrewsbury is just lovely. The historic town centre, musuems, theatre, independant cinema, University, great shopping facilities, lovely eateries for all budgets. Then you are surrounded by great countryside for walkers and cyclists and not far to other fantastic places to visit including Wales
  • A very clean and comfortable house. Great contact with the host Sebia, making planning our trip very easy. Would stay again.

    Lucy2016-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Sebia made us feel very welcome on arrival, putting a few essentials in the fridge, supplying a stair gate for our children and also digging out a big box of toys. The house was lovely and clean and we had everything we needed for our stay. We were very comfortable and the house was in a very convenient location to walk or drive into town and explore all that Shrewsbury has to offer. Thank you!

    Anna2016-04-09T00:00:00Z
  • Sebia was a great host - everything was exactly as described and the welcome goodies were a lovely touch! Collecting the keys was very simple and fuss free and we appreciated the local recommendations given. The description was accurate - a lovely house with garden and perfect for our needs. I would recommend Lily Cottage - thank you!

    Sarah2016-05-30T00:00:00Z
  • Stayed here for the Shrewsbury Half Marathon. Close to the start/finish (~15 minute walk) which is great as parking can be a pain.. and no one like dealing with a clutch after a race! Although we did not meet Sebia, we felt very welcome and were given a lot of suggestions on places to eat in town. Town (by the way) is very close by and about a 10 minute walk away. We arrived early, and Sebia's mother was able to meet us to give us the keys. Everything was explained in the sheet, and we were even given milk, bread, and eggs! This made a wonderful breakfast come race day. Sebia mentions parking and it is a bit of an issue, we were luckily able to find a spot on the street but it was a bit stressful! Its also much easier just to reverse out of the street rather than trying to 3 point turn out (we saw others doing it so it must be the norm!) Lovely house with everything one needs when away.

    Melissa 2016-06-20T00:00:00Z
  • A really lovely house. We were working in Theatre Severn and it was perfect walking distance to work, through a beautiful area. House has all modern conveniences and our host was very accommodating in changing the set up of the house at short notice. However, included in our price was a house cleaning, which it turns out was not comprehensive. It's also important to note that while it is listed as the 'Entire Home' on Airbnb it is not just self contained and the owners still hold keys and can enter during your stay. That said, we had a very comfortable stay here.

    Lucy2016-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • Sebia's house is very homely and is exactly as described. Good location, good contact with her. No problem with check in and no problem with check out. We can recommend this Airbnb to other people. It actually looks better in real life then on photos! Go ahead and book it for yourself!

    Michal2016-03-30T00:00:00Z
  • Everything is perfect !

    Joan2017-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • Superb! Sebia's house is just lovely. It was exactly what we needed for a weekend in Shrewsbury with friends. Convenient, quiet, warm and comfortable. A home from home! The welcome pack was a nice touch. Communications with Sebia were great which also helped make for a hassle free stay. Highly recommended.

My home is in a very quiet area of Shrewsbury, off a private drive , so no traffic noise and is within walking distance of town. A taxi ride into the town centre is about £4.10 Bus stops are near by and there are a number of pubs within walking distance that serve food. Easy access to the bypass and M54 . Ten minutes walk from Shropshire Council's headquarters.
  • Deborahs home is lovely. The bedroom is very large with a good size ensuite. She answered all our enquiries promptly and provided us with a great vegan breakfast. The house is situated on a quiet residential estate meaning the nights are very quiet and peaceful. I would whole heartedly recommend this house.

  • A great place to stay, Deborah and John are very friendly, helpful hosts. They have a beautiful home. We spent a very comfortable night in the en suite bedroom. The delicious breakfast was a special treat, including fresh fruits, cereals, cooked breakfast and toast. The location was quiet, with easy parking and yet close to the town centre. We loved meeting the greyhound Lilly. Very highly recommended!

  • What a wonderful place to stay! My only regret is that I can't give 7 stars out of 5! Everything was superb - the house is lovely, the room and especially the bed was first rate, the breakfast was delicious, and Deborah is a charming and capable host. Incredible value, and a great airbnb experience. Thank you Deborah!

  • The lack of reviews shouldnt put anyone off - it is only because Deb has only just opened up her lovely home for air b+b. But as an ex restaurant owner, she is the perfect host! The pictures don't do the house justice - it's a beautiful family home, with a lovely garden. Bedroom is so quiet and relaxing and has everything you could want with a very comfortable big bed. Breakfast is very kindly prepared and to a high standard and whatever you want. It's in a lovely location and close to the centre. Deb is a very friendly, personable and interesting person. We had some great chats with her and she also gave us our privacy. Overall a lovely stay and would definitely recommend.

  • We read all the reviews before booking and this was are first time going with Airbnb everything was excellent we would not book a hotel or bnb again as you can come and go as you please its like staying in your own little luxury pad, there,s off road safe parking out-side your own front door it,s very quiet at night with being tucked away up the drive way off the hosts main house, plenty of hot water for showering with lovely central heating just perfect fell in love with it ,even booked for later on in the year for another stay with Ian and Vanessa 5 Star service at a reasonable price.

    Chris2017-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • The flat surpassed all expectations! It’s ddcorated beautifully and the kingsize bed makes for an extremely comfortable nights sleep! It’s a walk away from the town centre which is perfect for a lazy stroll in to some lovely pubs! The kitchen has all the appliances and utensils for cooking your own food, and the little gift of a fresh loaf of bread and fresh OJ is a lovely little addition. Thanks for much for a perfect weekends stay - we’ll be back!

A south-facing double bedroom including shower and balcony with fantastic views over the river Severn, fields and town beyond, yet only ten minutes walk to the centre of Shrewsbury and on the edge of the beautiful countryside. Free on-road parking.
This 60s infill architectural delight has a garden which tumbles down in terraces to the river Severn. It is possible to fish from the bank, or just enjoy watching the river go by. Your bedroom has its own ensuite shower cubical and attached bathroom and toilet. Wifi available. There Is a kettle, a hairdryer and iron in the bedroom.
I am very fortunate to live on the banks of the beautiful river Severn in my lower garden (but we are well elevated above it to never have to worry about flooding!), beyond are fields designated as an area of scientific interest and have grazing cows. From the south-facing terraces I can see Shrewsbury, including notable buildings such as Charles Darwin's house where he was born, Shrewsbury Public School, St Chad's Church and many others, the castle and old prison now available to view. The Show Ground to our right where events such as The Shrewsbury Folk Festival, County Agricultural Show, and other horse and dog shows take place is not more than a couple of minutes walk away. I am on the edge of town, so access to the beautiful Shropshire countryside is very easy, yet only ten minutes walk to the Station and centre of town. There is free, safe street parking outside very close to the house walls as there is no pavement.
  • Charming house and host We had a great time staying with Anne in her lovely riverside home. We were made very welcome, felt almost like family by the time we left. The room was lovely especially as we could catch the sun from the balcony outside our room, though it was a bit too sharp in the mornings to have our breakfast out in the terrace. Anne makes wonderful breakfasts, she'll really set you up for the day. One day we had fabulous fruit salad including grapes from her own vine and another she made us pancakes, so delicious. The house is a leisurely stroll from Shrewsbury historic town centre and cultural quarter. It's a good 15 minutes walk from the rail station but really worthwhile fir the experience if the house and it's host.

    Cherie2016-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place and incredible views of the garden and river! Anne is a fantastic hostess and provides breakfasts that are pieces of art in themselves!

    Jenny2017-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • It was a delight to be at Anne's place. She is a phenomenal host! Conversations with Anne were a delight and a feast for our mind, breakfast with Anne was a feast for our palette...beginning with delicious fruit plates to ending with an "English Breakfast". Sometimes it was difficult to head out on our explorations because just being in her cozy home was "holiday enough"!

    Christa2017-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • Anne is a great host: warm, welcoming and helpful. the house and views are beautiful and its a really great location, peaceful and quiet with a nice stroll along the river to get into town. Anne made us delicious breakfasts and we did a fun walking tour of Shrewsbury using her leaflets. Highly recommend!

    Joshua2016-12-04T00:00:00Z
  • Anne was the perfect host. Her house is very interesting and is in a fantastic position. Being able to wake up and take in the early morning view from the balcony was marvellous. Very good location for exploring Shrewsbury on foot. I really enjoyed my stay and Anne is such an interesting person - we chatted for hours.

    Lawrence2016-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time staying with Anne, she is a wonderful host. Her breakfasts were amazing and the location is a quick walk to the castle gate.

    Adam2016-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • I cannot recommend Anne and her place enough, from start to finish it was amazing! Easy to find with on street parking, the views from Anne's house of the river are amazing as is the room complete with private balcony. Anne went out of her way to make me feel welcome including preparing an amazing breakfast on both mornings of my staff, if I'm ever in Shrewsbury again I know where I will be staying!

    Luke2016-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • Anne is the perfect host. She came and picked me up at the train station and we shared a glass on the porch. Lovely garden with a view over the river floating by and lots of colorful plants. It is the perfect location if you are visiting Shrewsbury as it is just a short walk from city center. You have your private room and a separate bathroom all very clean quiet and delicate. Anne is also a very interesting person to meet.

Quiet area but very close to the centre of town, approximately 10 minute walk. We are also very close to the Abbey built in 1083. There are plenty of walks close by along the river. There is a large garden to the front so well set back from a quiet road and private garden to rear. Plenty of nice restaurants with in walking distance. Also close to the cineworld cinema and supermarkets.

  • Jane has been a wonderful host, making sure all our needs were met. Despite our rather short notice, the room was spotless and the bed was very comfortable. She lives is a peaceful cul-de-sac near the town centre. All her family was very warm and friendly to us and their recommendations for where to visit were spot on. It was a great weekend!

  • The experience was simple from step one. I emailed Jane before booking as I wanted to make sure location was near to venue I was visiting. On arrival Jane welcomed us with a cup of tea, she made it clear that we were welcome to make a cuppa in the kitchen at any point if we wanted too. Our room was clean, beautifully decorated and had a lovely shower ensuite. There were plenty of towels, hairdryer, tv and magazines. We slept well and Jane provided a lovely breakfast of cereal, juice, toast and tea. Jane and her family are really friendly and it was a pleasure to shate their home overnight.
