“Sheffield Botanical Gardens cover 19 acres and were first opened in 1836. Originally designed by Robert Marnock in the Gardenesque style, the site now has fifteen different garden areas featuring collections of plants from all over the world, including Mediterranean, Asian, American prairie-style, woodland and rock- and-water plantings. The National Collections of Weigela, Diervilla and Sarcococca are sited here. The Gardens contain several listed buildings including the restored Grade II* listed curvilinear Glass Pavilions, some of the earliest ever built, which were officially re-opened by HRH The Prince of Wales on 1 September 2003. A beautiful getaway in the centre of Sheffield's cityscape, the Gardens provide a place of pleasure and education for all the family and provide a magnificent setting for the many events held there throughout the year.”

“Designed by WGR Sprague, the Lyceum Theatre originally opened in 1897. A traditional proscenium arch theatre, this 1068-seat listed building is Sprague's only surviving design outside London. Following its closure in 1968, the Lyceum underwent a £12 million renovation and reopened in 1991. The Lyceum is the main receiving venue for touring productions in the Sheffield Theatres complex. It comprises of a diverse programme comprising opera, ballet, contemporary dance and West End hits as well as our own productions The Lyceum theatre has three bars and provides light snacks.”

With direct access from Millennium Galleries and Millennium Square, the Winter Garden is the perfect oasis in the heart of England's fourth-largest city. The building itself is 70 metres long and 22 metres high (large enough to house 5000 domestic greenhouses). The Winter Garden also provides a home for the Bessemer Gallery and offers a welcome stop for coffee and light refreshments.”
