The location is great! Everything nearby! The room feels like home, with everything you need! The two stayed just fine and would be very satisfied. It will be a little crowded if you go over, and your luggage will not be easy to open.

After a long flight and train ride, this was the perfect place to relax and enjoy our first evening in Tokyo! It was clean, bright, very welcoming, and easy to find. I wish we could've stayed longer than one day, but we'll definitely be back the next time we're in Japan!

The place was in a good location, just a short train ride from Shinjuku. Smaller than the photos show but a wonderful place to stay!

Although the house is a bit old, it is clean. The landlord responded very promptly. Check in experience was good. Usually the price is very reasonable, the Spring Festival price is a bit expensive.

Masami's place was sparkling clean and easy to access. It's close proximity transit, food, and shopping made it a great place to stay for our trip. Highly recommend this place to any other people traveling here!

This was a great experience, we have never stayed in a shared space like this before. Keiko and Kako are so friendly and helpful, it was really wonderful having locals to talk to and to be in a house. The neighborhood was great and we had easy access to the subway to get all over Tokyo.

Fabulous location close to Yoyogi. The house is beautiful. But the most enjoyable part of the stay is the hospitality of Kako and Keiko. I have been traveling to japan for 30 years but really enjoyed discovering the family. Very good English speakers and helpful. Really a great place to stay!

Kako & Keiko’s home is lovely, and so are they as hosts. Their place is much bigger than the usual Tokyo home, offering beautiful light with a perfect guest room for our privacy when we needed it. Everything was convenient to walk to, from the 7-Eleven’s for last-minute necessities, charming bars and restaurants, to main train lines which helped us cover a lot of the city in a short amount of time. Keiko also cooked us a delicious breakfast every morning to fuel us for our adventures each day. Best yet, they’re upgrading their home, making it even better for future guests. I can’t wait to come back.

This is a very pleasant experience by staying in Kaori san’s apartment, which is comfortably clean, multifunctional, and spacious equipped with lots of appliances necessary for a modern and convenient life. The apartment is located in a quiet and decent neighborhood surrounded with restaurants, cafe, and convenience stores. The opera city is 5 minutes walk housing some excellent performances. And most importantly, the super host, kaori san is welcoming, hospitable, and patient. She responded to any of my requests since booking is completed. She also sent me lots of information needed for traveling in Tokyo. She also has a cleaning staff to help clean the kitchen every day. I am sure to return once the chances available. Great place, Great host!

It is a very beautiful room. The route is explained carefully and it is very easy to understand.

Masami's place is located in peacefully area near Shinjuku, perfect to take a rest for all day long stroll. Only few minutes from nearby subway to Shinjuku. It takes about 400 m from Hatagaya station to apartment but there are many restaurants and stores on along the way so you can enjoy shopping and hang out around. Masami's room was very comfy, cozy, sparking clean with aromatic scent! The first impression was greeting card attached on the door, that was so cute. She provided the appliances guidebooks so it was easy to use those Japanese labeled devices.

It's a super nice place! Tucked away in a neighborhood so it's quiet, but still close enough to main streets and subways that you can get around to where you need to easily. It was nice and clean and great for our short trip. :D

Small, cozy space enough for solo traveller or 2 people (might be a bit tight if you have a lot of luggage). Location is superb, very near to Shinjuku, and there is a bus to Shibuya nearby the house. Masami is a very nice and responsive host. The place is very clean. Overall a very good experience.

This was an excellent apartment in Tokyo. It is in a very well-connected location, a couple of stops from Shinjuku and all the main places one would want to visit in the city (the train station is very close and you can get to most places pretty fast), and plenty of local food, shopping and coffee shops if you want to relax around Hatagaya some days during your trip. The flat itself is really clean, has a working desk, good wifi, a comfy bed, and Masami is a super responsive and helpful host if you need anything. I was very happy with the apartment as a single traveller and would definitely recommend it to anyone who needs a place to stay in the city!

Masami is a great host; easy to communication with. Place is exactly as it is described. It’s tucked in a quiet street; you’ll get a good nights rest. It was clean and conveniently located 5-7 min walk to the train station.

Masami’s place is lovely and very visitor friendly, with instructions in English everywhere (AC, laundry, garbage). It’s in the local Hatagaya neighborhood, which feels very charming and safe. The station is a 5 min walk and there’s many stores and restaurants nearby.

We loved staying in this apartment, it was very clean and super close to Hatagaya Station which made travelling around Tokyo very easy. Loved the note on the doors and the lovely snacks left for us. Masami was always super prompt in responding to messages and keeping us in the loop with everything. Highly recommend this apartment when you come to Tokyo.

The location was super convenient meaning more time was spent enjoying the city rather than just travelling on the trains. A very modern Japanese apartment with easy access to shops, restaurants and rail transportation. Small but very efficient living area with a quiet and very comfortable bedroom. Our stay was most enjoyable!

Comfortable and practical space for a single or couple to crash at after a day of exploring Tokyo. It's in the heart of Shibuya, and there's tons of restaurants, bars, venues and shopping nearby. Would book again!

Amazing location! It’s about a 5 min walk to the Shibuya JR station which we used to get everywhere during our stay. The shower is super awesome once you figure out how to use it (turn the hot water heater on!) and I’ll miss that! The pocket WiFi was a lifesaver for me and a super cool bonus amenity. The host was super responsive and checked in with us during the app on our stay. There is a nice booklet in the apartment that explains how to use all of the appliances if you’re not used to them. It’s a perfect spot for a couple - as with most Tokyo hotels it is close quarters so you’ll need to be comfortable sharing an intimate space with whoever you’re traveling with! One note is that if you have any mobility issues you may have difficulty getting back and forth to the apartment because you do need to walk up a couple of steep hills to get to the entrance but it was no problem for us and there is an elevator in the building. We heard little to no noise from outside the windows and in the building so it’s a pretty quiet spot in a bustling city. We had a great time!

Ken’s apartment is in an amazing location in Shibuya. You will be a part of the hustle and bustle with many things to see and do. Ken was an amazing host as he was easy to communicate with and when our luggage was lost he was more than willing to help.

My husband and I had a lovely stay at Ken’s place. He is an excellent host, always communicating quickly and thoughtfully. The location is in the heart of Shibuya, amongst a lot of nightlife, including restaurants, bars and clubs. The apartment itself is not very big, although that is expected in Tokyo. The bathroom has a bathtub and shower, there is a little kitchen, the bed is big and comfortable and a pocket WiFi is included (which was a life saver for us!). A nice spot for couples to stay.

The apartment was small (to be expected) but clean, had everything I needed. The bed was extremely comfortable and the sheets, Pillow and comforter were amazing. With an extra blanket, just In case. The location was so walkable and I learned a lot of shibuya by going out the door and walking the opposite way from the large shibuya station area. Ken was helpful and responsive. His English is perfect and he had great recommendations. 10/10!

We appreciated this spacious apartment with a comfortable bed, and all appliances needed for home cooking. Nice location close to Yoyogi park and streets with good restaurants! A bit noisy due to the big road that is outside, but nothing earplugs cant fix :-)

Anyway, it is a stylish and nice room. Also, contacting the host is quick and smooth. We applied for an extra night during our stay, but we responded very carefully.

This is a really good location. It takes about 20 minutes to amble down to the scramble crossing at Shibuyu, through some pretty, small roads - many embassies and nice homes. The room is clean and functional and communication with the hostess is fast and helpful. Be ready for some road noise as there is a fast road outside.

Super cool place that feels very interesting yet also super cozy. About a 10 min walk to the Odayku and Chiyoda line which is pretty good depending how hot/rainy it is. The location around it is super cool though. Nice Letterpress cafe just up the block and other cool cafes and restaurants within a couple blocks. Overall a very lovely place to be!

We had an amazing time in Naokos stylish flat. Well located and amazing design. Shame we couldn’t meet, but always kept in touch & helped us with everything.

Shimokita Hostel was absolutely perfect - the location is amazing, staff were super friendly, lots of great food, music and vintage clothing shopping in the area and with Shimokita-Zawa station so close it is a great place to base yourself while exploring Tokyo. 10/10 would recommend

A great spot to explore the party nightlife of Shibuya. It’s super quiet, but located on a fun street with loads of bars and restaurants. Really safe and excellent instructions on how to find the keys and the property. The space is designed for sleeping rather than living and has a cute little balcony as well, with an awesome view. The three beds are very close together, so just just something to think about when planning. Thanks heaps Ken.

Spacious and convenient house very well located to Shibuya Hachiko entrance (8min walk, but do note it is a bit of slope uphill if you have heavy luggage) Can sleep up to 6 pax. Ken’s place is wonderful! It is centrally located in Shibuya near shopping and restaurants and more importantly it was very clean and heating was great during this Winter holidays. The kitchen was well equipped and sufficient for us to have breakfast before heading out for a full day and we could prepare simple dinners for our family if we wanted to take it easy. Everything was so well thought out. The beds were soft yet firm for our tired souls every night . We slept so well. The apartment was also located where there were “interesting” hotels nearby but they were discrete and unobstrusive. It is part of life after all. Ken was quick with communication and even helped us make reservations at a local yakiniku restaurant. Ken is the best! Thank you 👍🏻👌🏻

This is a wonderful location in Shibuya. There are great restaurants, cafes, and shopping within walking. Ken’s instructions were very clear regarding finding the apartment and for check in. He also provided assistance on where to store bags and was quite helpful overall. It was clean and comfortable with generous closet storage. It was our first time in Japan and these accommodations made everything seem easy to help us enjoy our stay! We definitely recommend this place!

Such a lovely host and a very quirky space. The levels were very fun to climb. Perfect if your looking for a bit of a new and different approach for accommodation. The bed was extremely cosy and comfortable. Could not recommend enough!

Ninja House is in a perfect location to trains and to walk to beautiful areas of Tokyo. Shin had great communication with us before and throughout our stay. Ninja house is small but definitely a unique stay!

The Ninja House was a great place to make home base during our short stay in Tokyo. The location was incredibly convenient for commuting into other parts of the city and in a great neighborhood. Shin was an outstanding host who was quick to reply to any questions we may have had. We would definitely visit again.

Shin’s 4 level ninja house is one of a kind. It’s really fun climbing up all the stairs, the roof top is an amazing place to hang out. Shin was super helpful and a really lovely host. The location is in a quiet area in Tokyo, with bars, bakeries and restaurants just a short walk away. Super easy to get by with buses and trains near to the house.

We loved our stay at the Ninja house! Was certainly a different experience but well worth it. Shin was a fantastic host!

Great place to stay if you want to live central while being on a budget! The facilities are really clean and there is not only big shower rooms, but I also especially liked the availability of washing rooms, where you can get ready just like in a hotel room. The beds were comfortable and more than enough space to store luggage.

Wise owl has nice bunks and good amenities. It's a 20 minute walk to Shibuya station, so it's in a really convenient area to travel around tokyo

Calm location

For the best quality for an affordable price definitely stay at Wise Owl Hostels in Shibuya. The staff was beyond amazing! I can’t say that enough. Everyone was very personable and made sure that every patron was comfortable and had a good time during their stay.

Clean, well located, kind staff and a really nice service over all. If I ever go back to Tokyo, I'd probably stay there again.

Near from shibuya crossing. Your place is so homey and the sunlight that goes to the door is so unforgettable. You have a cute separated bath and restroom that saves time for us in the morning. And we can cook too. It's just we wish you have TV in the unit. But we were out the entire time so not really important hehe. Thank you, will recommend your apt to all my friends and families who will go to japan!

Excellent location to the Shibuya station; not only are you close to many subway lines, but it is also a stop for the Narita Express. Very close to a lot of conbini, and walking distance to Shibuya, Omotesando, and Harajuku. The space worked well for my friend and I--the bed was fine, and the futon was a nice bonus. Great kitchenette--we appreciated having the microwave, refrigerator, and laundry, and we made use of the coffee table as well. A little noisy at night, but not an issue for us as we brought earplugs 8) Ryoko was very quick to respond when we had questions, which was appreciated! We were comfortable staying here for 6 nights.

Mary’s place was great! It is a small studio apartment, but it was perfect for my wife and I to spend six nights in and had everything we needed for our trip. The kitchen area was very useful and we saved money on our trip by cooking breakfast most mornings after shopping at the local super market down the street. It is nestled right in Shimo-Kitazawa and the neighborhood is amazing. We kept traveling to other parts of Tokyo on our trip and then returning home for the night and feeling like we should’ve just stayed in the neighborhood. It was very easy to get to the subway stations and was a really great place for us to stay during our visit in Tokyo, highly recommended!!!

Ken’s place is highly recommended. One of the best places I have stayed. Great and strategic location. Clean, neat and tidy. Ken is also a very thoughtful and communicative person.

Because our visa came late, the landlord always cared about whether we could travel smoothly and it was very considerate. The room was fairly clean. It was about 6 or 7 minutes walk from the subway station, which was quite convenient. There is a small balcony in the room, and you can wash and dry clothes, which is not possible in the hotel. The host was very considerate when we checked out late because of the late appointment.

Nice way to escape the hectic pace pf Tokyo and just very close to Shimbuku -- would rent again -- gladly.

It will be a mistake NOT staying here. Great host, great property, great location. Just a few minutes walk from the train station, convenience stores, and delicious local restaurants. Spacious property that really feels like home. If you need anything, don’t be afraid to just ask the host. He will quickly answer you.

Ken’s place was lovely and we managed fine in the space as a family of four with two teenage boys and two large suitcases. We loved being just one stop from Shinjuku in a great neighbourhood with easy access to supermarkets. We would stay here again especially as a result of Ken’s responsiveness and positivity.

Great place! It’s only a 10 minute walk from the JR station and close to many malls, restaurants and even an arcade. The place was clean and very big compared to other place I’ve stayed at in Tokyo.

This apartment is in a terrific location an easy distance from Shibuya Station on a quiet back street. It is very convenient to all major retail stores and restaurants. If you need an exceptional sushi dining experience go to Ox - Hideki is an extraordinary sushi artisan. He rides his motorcycle to the fish markets every morning and prepares an exception 12 course sushi menu for his small (11 person) restaurant. Highly recommended. Service from Emily was very good. We would go back there in a heartbeat.

Haji’s place was to be expected. Clean, safe and close to Shibuya station. There was 4 in our group and we all fit comfortably enough when we were all in the apartment. The pocket WiFi works great, and the close proximity to 7/11, Lawson’s and FamilyMart made getting last minute things easy. Haji as a host was great and responded promptly. We had issues checking in as the tablet in the room wasn’t working correctly, but Haji was quick to respond and resolve the problem. Only downside of the stay is the size of the bathroom, but if you’re use to Japan and the size of typical apartments it’s understandable, but for guests coming from the States it’ll be an adjustment.

Haji’s apartment is very convenient to all (all transits, convenient stores, shopping centers in Shibuya, Izakayas, restaurants, tourists areas). We are a family of 6 that stayed there and it was comfortable to all. Haji responded quickly to all my questions. Such a great host. Will definitely stay at his place again.

Great space in quiet part of Shinjuku. Easy walk to Shinjuku or catch local bus for 100y. Great for the 3 of us.

The place can barely fit 3 people but the location kinda make up for it. The short walk though as defined by host may not exactly be short especially if you are lugging luggages around; Guests will need to take the new Keio line subway to Hatsudai (one-stop) from the Shinjuku station, which cost 130 yen per adult each way, then take the East exit and walk about 20 - 25 minutes depending on your pace.

Huge hotel/service apartment in Tokyo, 2 stations off the main Shinjuku station but the size of the apartment made the distance negligible. Apartment is exactly like the pictures shown. Has a balcony too. Comes with daily Housekeeping. There’s a washer and dryer in the laundry room downstairs.

The location is great! !! Next to it is the Otoki (forgotten the specific name) gate of Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden, and the check-in area of the leafy court. There is a subway Marunouchi line that is almost direct and there are various convenience stores next to it. Close to Shinjuku, convenient for transfers! ~ The room is really big! There are no problems spreading out a few boxes!

This is a very clean and amazing place! My boyfriend and I came to Tokyo the first time and Elaine provided us with all the help. Check in was super easy and the host is responsive.

The location of the house is great, it is convenient to live in Shinjuku, and it is convenient to eat, eat and shop nearby. The house is fully equipped, clean and tidy. There are still people to clean up the garbage every day. I will definitely choose to live here next time I come to Tokyo.

Everything we needed for a family of 2 adults & 2 kids. Great location to Shibuya, only a few minute walk and close to a minimart & Starbucks. Very happy with it and would stay again. The video the host provided on how to find it from the train station was very helpful.

The location of the house is perfect, it is in a quiet neighborhood but just a few minutes walk to the station and the center of shibuya. Also all the basic needs are provided. I definitely recommend this. I would also like to stay here again when I go back to Japan.

Excellent AirBnB. Fantastic location with plenty of shopping right on your doorstep, however still quiet enough to not be distracted by any noise. Property is well kept and very comfortable. I had a great time and would happily book here again next time in Tokyo.

Misaki’s place was amazing. It’s right next to a supermarket and close to a station. It was very clean and quiet as well.

Kanako’s place is very cute and super accessible! She’s also easy to communicate with! The instructions she provided was very helpful! Although I only stayed for a couple of days at her place it was very comfortably and I adjusted easily to everything! Thank you again Kanako! You are super!

The location is very good. It takes about 10 minutes to get to Shinjuku Station, but it is a pity that there is no elevator in the house. It is inconvenient to bring large luggage, but it will be very good if there is only light luggage.

The landlord is very enthusiastic and the environment is very clean.

Kanako is really a very good landlord. The address of the house is very good. It is only a few minutes away from the station. There are many nightingales on the road~ it is worth a try. Very recommended!

It was close to the station and quiet.

This apartment was the perfect landing spot for our stay in Tokyo. It was clean, stylish, and cozy. It was perfectly located. The street it was on made it feel like we were locals; but it was very close to the Sasaduka station and a cool street with amazing restaurants. Just a quick walk to Shimokitazawa and a few stops on the train to Shinjuku. 直人 was the perfect host -- so prompt in responding to messages, they let us check out later, they were so accommodating. We highly recommend this apartment.

To get to the city (Shibuya), it takes about 15 minutes by train. Which is very good considering the price. There is a 7/11 or family mart down the road. Also a few small restaurants and bar downstairs. It is in a quiet location. Take good use of the portable wifi they provide, the charge lasts all day but it can be a bit slow sometimes. Overall if you’re looking to get a place close to the city this would be a good fit for you if you don’t mind a little walking.

Sasazuka is a gorgeous little place to stay, with so many nice restaurants and cafes, and gives you the feeling of actually living in Japan rather than just touristing! It can get a bit pricey if you don’t have a JR pass and plan on travelling around a lot. But the room was perfect and a lot bigger than I expected! Really comfortable and lovely to come home to. The host was really lovely and easy to communicate with! Thank you!!!

I stayed 5 weeks in Naoto's apartment and everything was perfect. Location is great with 5 min walk to Sasazuka and 10 min to Shimokitazawa. The pocket wifi never runs out of data or battery (unlike many others). I could not get the washing machine to work but there is a coin laundry just around the corner.

Great place. Great location and easy to find. Few mins walk to the station with places to eat around as well as convience stores. A little dusty but everything was good.

Place is small but cozy, if you are travelling alone this place is great, if you are travelling with 1 other person space might be tight but we were still able to make it work. Quite close to the station and there is a laundromat near by. The house also has a washing machine but we were lazy hahaha.

First time in Japan and this was a wonderful spot to stay at. A stones throw away from the train station so had no problem getting up and exploring at a moments notice. Even staying in the neighborhood was a good way to spend the day as there are many shops and places to eat at. Good for thrift shopping! Bunks are big enough and offer a reasonable about of electrical outlets to charge all my devices which is plus for me. Staff was very helpful and made me feel comfortable. Three showers which I never had to wait for so that’s another plus for me. Can’t think of anything else to say but overall I would stay here again for the location and the hostel itself.

Immediately at the station, I arrived immediately with a sense of direction. Bedding slept well with fluffy. But maybe because I stayed on Saturday, singing karaoke enthusiastically ... As earplugs were attached for free by service, it was good.

Even though there were so many people in and out, the cleanliness was amazing. The receptionist was also kind and had a very good stay.

I stayed in a capsule room and it was very cozy. I've never been in one before so I'm not sure what to expect. Shimokitazawa is a cute neighborhood and the hostel was very close to the train station.

Excellent apartment in a perfect position by train or a very pleasant 30 min walk to Shibuya / Shinjuku/ Shimokitazawa. Comfortable beds and bedding plus all mod cons in the apartment - we loved it. Plenty of info provided and the pin door entry system is a great idea - no lost keys ! As a regular visitor to Tokyo I will certainly use again. HIghly recommend

This was such a calm and cosy place to stay. We were two stations from Shinjuku, and if you're up for a walk, a 20-minute walk from the Tokyo Metropolitan Building. The house is spacious for a city like Tokyo and has all the amenities you'll need for a complete trip to the city. Whether you're planning a short trip to the city or a long trip, this is one of the better and more central places to stay.

The location of the homestay is good, there are convenience stores at the alley, and there are also two large supermarkets not far from the homestay. It is also close to the subway station, and two stops to Shinjuku

Emily’s place was terrific! There are many good things to mention: - Great Location near Shibuya station plus a lot of cafes and bars - Quiet street and building - Good value overall - Good bed - Good Shower water pressure and bathroom - Amazing heated toilet seat and bidet Only drawbacks were the apartment is Japanese size, so don’t expect a lot of space. Also, all the room controls are in Japanese so the book explaining operation for using water and room temperature is a little challenging. Overall, my wife and I recommend this place and would stay here again!

Location, location, location. Great value for the closeness to Shibuya shopping and food and about 15min walk from the main station. The place was not the cleanest however still liveable. It's a ground floor apartment and we stayed there for 4 nights. The first 3 nights was quiet however the last night there was a family and they were so rowdy it was a very late night for us. Most air bnb we stayed at in Japan had toothbrushes provided however this place didn't so BYO. A nice touch was there were 4 towels so we could swap over the 4 nights which is great when the Japanese size towels are rather small and thin. Definitely watch the YouTube Video as we got a bit lost! Thanks Emily for hosting us!

Kens place was situated very close to 109 building. Very convenient place with both Lawson and seven eleven only 2 minute walk away. The room is a little bit small as it’s enough to open one big suitcase at a time. But other than that, the room was really nice and clean! The washing machine was very convenient for us as well as the hangers to hang our clothes. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to others ^_^
