Sidbury Holiday Rentals

Just booked in Sidbury

The Old Coach House is a well presented, characterful 16th Century property containing a 2 bedroom apartment sleeping up to 4. It is ideally situated in the picturesque village of Sidbury, close to the coastal town of Sidmouth.
Sidbury is a stunning, mainly thatched, village. It has a great, little pub and a well stocked Butchers/local shop. It is the perfect location to explore so many of the near by towns, villages and beaches. It is a 10 minute drive to Honiton, Seaton, Beer and Branscombe and 25 minutes to Lyme Regis. The quaint, seaside town of Budleigh Salterton is just 25 minutes away as well. We have an excellent bus service, which runs frequently and until about 11.30pm from Sidmouth.
  • Charming, convenient, comfy. We should love to stay again...

  • Really cosy comfortable home from home - great place to unwind - The apartment was spotless and even nicer than the photos - Lucy was a charming host.

    Nicky2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay here. It was a great location to visit Exeter and all the surrounding villages and beaches. The neighbourhood was quiet and felt very safe. The apartment was exactly as described, lovely big bedrooms, beautiful exposed beams, comfy sofas and the kitchen had everything we needed with a young family. It was a real "home from home". Lucy was very friendly, replied to all emails very quickly and even offered to provide us a highchair which was really helpful as it meant we had more space in our car!! All in all we would definitely recommend it and If we return to Sidbury, we would stay here again.

    Georgina2015-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • The host made us feel very welcome, and was there to answer any questions or queries we had. The flat was in brilliant condition; very clean, and more than enough space for four of us. Lucy was an excellent host and very friendly. I would highly recommend her and would love to stay in this flat again in the future.

    Daniel2016-03-27T00:00:00Z
  • A really lovely, clean and quirky place to stay. It is a really good base with easy drives to the coast for walks along beaches and cliffs; recommend.

    Stuart2017-09-27T00:00:00Z

  • Nancy and Louisa's cottage is stunning and the grounds are beautiful. We'd recommend to anyone looking to get away from the hectic pace of life for a few days. We had a hire car and the cottage is only a short distance from sidmouth and exmouth and a host of pretty small villages as well as the coastal walks. Don't hesitate if you are thinking of booking!

    Becky2017-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved the cottage, it is done to fantastic standard and is in a wonderful rural location. The gardens are beautiful and having access tobthe swimming pool was a fantastic bonus! Nancy gave us such a warm and friendly welcome and it is in a great location to visit the coast. Highly recommend!

    Abigail2017-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • What an absolute gem! We predict this place will become exceedingly popular. We were very pleased with the cottage. The area is gorgeously rural but with a village only 1km away. We slept so well in the extremely comfortable bedroom listening to animals and the skies were starry clear. The cottage is perfectly set up for guests. All the rooms are beautifully decorated English country cottage style with lovely proportions. It was a damp day so Nancy lit the charming stove which was a delight to relax next to. Nancy & Louisa also had stocked the cottage with yummy breakfast things & an adorable tea & coffee station which were most appreciated! The wifi was perfect which made up for weak phone signals. Nancy & Louisa were the perfect hosts on hand with heaps of local knowledge and advice, the guest information sheet was very practical. All in all a wonderful place to relax, highly recommend this cottage to others. We shall be back!

  • A very comfortable cottage, immaculate and very well equipped. Situated in quiet country area, yet close to the Jurassic coast and some good scenic walking. Wonderful hosts.

    Mick2017-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • The moment we had entered the grounds to the farm, our breath was taken away just by how beautiful the scenery was. We was kindly greeted by Nancy on parking our car, and shown to the cottage. On entering we was left with a pleasant smile. The decor was stunning! Cosy and classy. Attention to detail is second to none, and our stay was first class. Nancy baked the best lemon drizzle cake for my girlfriends birthday! Strongly recommend this place if you want to see the real Devon and just want a getaway for some r&r. Thank you so much guys!

HoneyPot cottage was built four years ago and has been open to visitors for over two years now. You will be able to find reviews from previous visitors on the website of 'Owners Direct/Home Away'. We are very pleased that holiday makers feel that the area of outstanding natural beauty which surrounds Sidford has a great deal to offer and that after exploring their return to 'HoneyPot' is welcoming and comfortable, the garden is secluded and sunny (weather permitting). To add to your enjoyment you have SKY TV in the lounge, TV/video in the bedroom, reliable WiFi, a range of ovens, recliner chairs with a lovely view of the garden through patio doors, a bedroom with a high quality memory foam mattress and en-suite walk in wet room/shower area. From the village it is a 1.5 mile walk to Sidmouth; away from any traffic the National Trust Byes walk is a delightful haven beside the river Sid, wildflower meadows, orchards and is part of an arboretum leading into the town and seafront. Sidford has two public houses ( dog friendly) an award winning restaurant, fish and chip shop, a spar shop ( Waitrose supermarket is also close by), a hairdresser and vet and sports physio; all within walking distance. It is very convenient for bus routes to Sidmouth, Exmouth, Lyme Regis, Donkey sanctuary, Honiton and Exeter. There is a profusion of coastal drives and walks with stunning views. Sidmouth welcomes its visitors with open arms and maintains a charm which draws visitors to return year on year.

  • We could not have been happier with our stay. Everything was absolutely as it said it would be, and better. Sarah was so accommodating about our dog, very warm, and full of helpful information. The pool, gardens and 4 acres around the house where stunning, in fact the lovely pictures probably didn't do it all justice! We are also very pleased to find that the self catering accommodation was lovely, spotlessly clean, and very well-stocked so we weren't having to ask for anything. Overall it was a perfect stay and we will definitely be returning.

  • Though this was a last-minute booking, we found the communication and directions to be excellent and we duly arrived in one piece at the agreed time. The patrons are extremely friendly and go out of their way to make you feel at home. In fact, nothing seems to be too much trouble for them and we were able to do a mix and match of B&B and self-catering. The owners are very relaxed and one would be forgiven for not realising how organised and efficient they actually are. There is a genuine sense of relaxed calm here with some wonderful views of the countryside. The night sky was the clearest and brightest that I have seen for a long time. Here the incessant hum of traffic seemed to evaporate into the night. The hotel is clean and tidy and has been developed over many years, as the history in their information folder attests. There is a sense of continuity and progression with an acknowledgement to the environment in which it finds itself. The first night we stayed in a well-situated double room with en-suite and in reality wanted for nothing. It was at breakfast that we were really amazed. We have stayed in many places, here and abroad, but it was the care and attention to detail that really struck us this morning. You could not fault the range and variety that seems to be the norm. If you want traditional breakfast fare, then there it was. However, if you require fruit, nuts yoghurts or anything else then you will find them on the self-service table. The full English breakfast was just enough to keep you going, especially after muesli, fresh raspberries and yoghurt. All cooked fare seems to be locally sourced with the bacon being the tastiest that I can ever remember. It's worth staying for the breakfast alone. The self-catering was again clean and tidy and contained all the things that you would expect. There was a dishwasher if you need one and a decent electric cooker. The bedding was warm and very comfortable. In the Summer this would be an ideal place as there is decking and chairs outside. We didn't sample this because of the rain. Still, the lounge/diner was comfortable enough with ample heating in case it gets cold. As I have mentioned, we have stayed in many places in the past and it is unusual to meet hosts who have the knack of making you feel not only welcome but a part of their family. Here there is a genuine friendly welcome with no pressure to be anything but yourself. I definitely recommend this stay and would have no qualms in returning here.

  • Sarah and her husband made our arrival very easy by leaving a key in the cottage door as we arrived in the evening (10pm+). The cottages are everything you need, with a high end finish. Grouped around a central courtyard they are hidden from the worst of the weather (it rained when we stayed there) but still provide wonderful views of the surrounding countryside. The facilities and room layout made it easy to feel like u lived there, and a well put together visitors welcome pack gives you all the local info you need. The location is great for getting out and about to different sections of Devon and with the pool and tennis courts on site I can imagine staying put during sunny spells. Our experience of wifi was very poor access, however we didn't mention anything because we preferred the relaxation this offered - it's great to actually "switch off" on a holiday.

    Rosie2015-05-05T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay here was great! Sarah and Stephen are truly good hosts being professional, friendly and helpful while respecting your privacy. The cottage we stayed in was comfortable and the setting and gardens are lovely. Rusti, our beautiful hound, took to the place immediately, exploring the River Sid, the fields and the woodlands nearby. He also enjoyed the company of Benson, a lord of a labrador, who welcomed him and us, guaranteeing a share of Rusti's treats! Although we hired a cottage, we could enjoy the hotel delights of the internet, the swimming pool but more importantly, the dining-room. The breakfasts here are marvellous! Stephen caters very well for carnivores and vegetarians alike and all is beautifully presented in a light, elegant room dressed with lovely flowers. Stephen and Sarah have very good local knowledge. This ranges from good walks, where to get one's car fixed, find a dentist and vet, to where you can enjoy a great cup of coffee (Stephen's own excluded). If you are looking for that late emergency gift, you cannot go wrong but enquire after the jewellery and recycled candles on display in the hotel foyer. To cap it all, there is an abundance of beautiful birds (finches, falcons and buzzards) and lovely wildlife. So, if anyone, anyone at all wants to enjoy a little quiet time with good access to Sidmouth, or Budleigh Salterton, Bicton, or the coast, this is where you can enjoy a positively, memorable stay.

  • My friend and I had a very pleasant stay for 6 nights at Sarah's Dairy Cottage. Steven, Sarah and even their dog Benson gave us a warm welcome. The location is quite & charming, the cottage itself is very clean and got all modern luxury you need, even heatwarming for the bathroom... We enjoyed the daily cleaning service which we found pretty extraordinary for an airbnb cottage. A special thx for the nice & good trip/location advises, they also literally got tons of information material, maps, routes :) The only small drawback we had was a bad wifi signal in the beginning but - as usual - the hosts where more than helpful and it worked out fine in the lobby. We definitely can recommend this cottage/location/host!!!

    Manuel2015-04-12T00:00:00Z
  • Sarah is a wonderful host. Everything was well prepared and presented. We highly recommend the cottage and the location of the hotel is fab with great views. We enjoyed our week and will be going again later this year.

    Sam2016-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Sarah was very welcoming and nothing felt too much trouble. We stayed 4 nights and would definitely return and recommend. The cottage is small, clean and good value - perfect for us, a couple with a 2 year old. The views of the surrounding countryside are beautiful.

    Lizzie2014-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed in Granary cottage self catering, accommodation was small but perfectly formed for a couple. Spectacular country views and warm swimming pool. Owners are very friendly. Location is down a narrow horse shoe shaped country lane, if coming from Honiton direction, ignore first turning the SAT NAV instructs and come in from other end. Wi fi only worked in hotel a few yards away. Pub and shop are about a mile away. Highly recommend for a quiet break, especially if you enjoy walking.

We have a beautiful, bright room in a detached house close to open spaces, shops, restaurants, cafes, pubs and the seafront. There is parking on the drive. We are approximately a mile from the seafront which is easily reached on foot via a pleasant river-side walk or the bus stops straight outside the house and goes into town. The double bedroom room has en-suite bathroom plus tea and coffee facilities. There is also a pleasant garden that guests can use.
  • Tom and Kath were eager to be helpful and the room was comfortable and private. The walk down to Sidmouth center through the byes was a delight. Definitely would want to stay here again if I came back.

  • Light comfortable room and bathroom in a quiet area of Sidmouth, out of the noise and bustle of central Sidmouth. Good parking. Easy to find. 20-25 mins walk into town (or bus ride) which can be the pleasant Byes riverside walk. It was great for us attending a long weekend of Folk Week as we could walk down and not worry about overpriced and overcrowded parking.

  • Our first use of airbnb and if kath' s place was a measure then would certainly use it again. Lovely room with an incredibly comfortable bed. House is around 1.3 miles from sea front (25 mins) and a nice walk if you can do it. Kath made us feel very welcome and at ease and we chatted over a lovely surprise continental breakfast on our first morning. Would highly recomend stopping here to explore Sidmouth. Thank you very much Kath.

  • Although the basement of a large house, the annexe is genuinely self contained and has it's own patio. It's not overlooked from the house and so feels very private. It's in a quiet and peaceful location, an easy walk into town but close to the A35. The rooms perfectly met our needs (our young adult son was joining us for an extended family get together) and so each room having it's own en suite bath/shower room and loo was very handy. All was very clean and comfortable and John and Ali were friendly and generous. Highly recommended

  • This is a lovely, clean, spacious and friendly space to stay. There was plenty of room for the 3 adults and having two bathrooms was a bonus! Comfortable beds, Tea/coffee making facilities provided as well as plates/cutlery . Very useful having a small fridge as well. I would definitely recommend a stay here. It is close to lots of lovely places to visit.

  • Jonathan's place is a clean, comfortable and spacious 2 bedroom apartment in Sidmouth, a few minutes' drive from the beach. We were visiting Exeter but wanted to spend some time at the seaside as well, and it was perfect for us. Jonathan was very friendly, welcoming and helpful.

  • Excellent host, accommodation is clean, comfortable and an excellent base to use while visiting the area. Good pubs and excellent food within walking distance.

  • We had a lovey few days wih Jonathan. He has two spotlessly clean rooms which we were able to make ourselves comfortable. The two rooms easily fit my husband, and two older sons, and there was room for a travel cot for the baby. Jonathan and his wife are friendly and welcoming, and he went out of his way to make sure that we were comfortable and happy. He had up to date information on the local tides and places to visit and was keen to make sure that we enjoyed ourselves.

Newly owned and renovated two bedroom house in the tranquil village of Sidford. A beautiful walk down the River Sid to the seaside town of Sidmouth and the Jurassic coastline of East Devon. Totally private independent and self-contained in an outstanding area of natural beauty. Close to Exeter, the airport, open countryside, the sea, the River Otter and Dartmoor. It is the perfect place to adventure from and explore the stunning surrounding areas.
The house is a very quirky place! Able to accommodate 6 people comfortably with a large dining room and lounge to relax in. The bathroom has a shower over the bath. The cottage also has a yard which catches the sun in the morning.
There is a Spar shop for essentials round the corner, a fish 'n' chip shop and two pubs within a short walk. At the end of the road there is a path which leads to the 'Byes' which is a picturesque 25 minute walk to the town and beach
  • The house is really nice, very clean and well equipped. We had a great time. Thank you Emily and Andrew!

  • This is a fabulous house to stay. I was working in Exeter which meant I had a lovely 20 minute commute through the Devon countryside. Sidmouth is 5 minutes away by car or you can walk through "The Byes" and have a delightful 40 minutes stroll in the luscious green park. The house has recently been refurbished and everything is in brilliant condition. The bathroom and kitchen are both fully equipped and make this home use the perfect home for your stay in Decon

A cozy and comfortable space for one person, this is a full size single day bed , you have private use of a shower room. We are happy for you to use the kitchen/dining/sitting room as well. We have 2 cocker spaniels who like attention! Our home is a 20 min walk to the sea/shops/pubs and restaurants etc or 5 min drive. You can walk along paths by the River Sid through the National Trust area of The Byes, only suitable in daylight as the area is not lit. This is not suitable for children.
It is a quiet room at the back/side of our house, in what was originally the garage, with the addition of a shower room, it has French windows onto the garden
It is a very quiet residential street, 20 min walk to the sea and shops along a river but this is not lit at night, buses from end of road
  • Carla and her husband are warm, friently and helpful hosts. The room I stayed in was spacious and comfortable. I could sit and read in comfort and watch TV if I'd wanted to. It looked out onto a lovely garden. Having my own bathroom was an added bonus. Though a littl way out of town there was a bus service at the end of the road.

    Ruth2017-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • Really enjoyed my stay at Carla's. she is a great host. Nice location, lovely room with nice linen and furnishings and private shower room with excellent facilities. Approx 20 minute walk from prom.

  • Loved this cosy, tastefully decorated and very airy room with private shower room. Carla's garden is delightful and Skye and Rosie, the dogs, quite charming. They are an easy-going and very welcoming family and the lovely walk to town through The Byes, accessible just a couple of minutes away from the house, is an added bonus. Highly recommend!

  • Nice clean comfortable accomodation

    Aileen2017-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • Carla's accommodation is of a high standard and most comfortable. I had the single room which is spacious and peaceful and overlooks the very attractive garden. The private toilet/shower room was spotlessly clean and equipped with everything. Having a really big towel was great. There was a good choice of cereals, croissants, fresh fruit, conserves, teas and coffee for breakfast. The dogs are delightful, friendly and so quiet. The location is great too as the shops are a five minute stroll and the bus stop is at the end of the road.

    Philip2017-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • The snug room is a lovley and a bit separeted room with own bathroom. Everything is nice and very clean. The dogs are well educated and nice too. ;-) A 15 to 20 minutes walk through the beautyful riverpark brings you to the seaside and town. 5 stars!

Warm family home happily accommodates 6 people. The house is well equipped with a private garden to the back and ample parking. A 5 min walk to the River Sid through The Byes to the beach in 15 min or 5 min drive. Great base for exploring numerous local beaches along the Jurassic Coast & the whole of the south west.
Private enclosed rear garden with private parking on the property in a residential area. Affordable and comfortable accommodation in a very beautiful coastal town. Please note two single beds in bedroom 3 are bunk beds.
Just outside the hustle and bustle of the main town but only 5 mins from all local amenities such as a supermarket, newsagent, chemist, bakers, vet, butchers and recently renovated pub. Only 15-20 min walk to the beach via a stunning riverside park, or if driving the coast is only 4 mins away.
  • We had a lovely stay in the property for my special birthday. There are some great walks nearby and a pub that serves tasty food - The Balfour. It was very comfortable, we slept well and the kitchen had everything we needed. Thank you, we had a really enjoyable time.

Our 5m bell tents are light and spacious and come with zipped in ground sheets enabling you to turn them into a sun canopy on hot days. The tents themselves look as though they dropped straight out of an Enid Blyton story, and the local village is charm itself. We are 1 mile from the sea at Salcombe Regis & 2 miles from the seaside town of Sidmouth. Occasionally you can hear the donkeys braying at the nearby Donkey Sanctuary! The site is part of a relaxed golf course.
This listing is for 2 adults sharing but families and groups are welcome for an extra fee. We supply china crockery, cutlery, beakers, a tin opener & the all important corkscrew! There's no provision to cook other than a fire basket, so you would need to bring your own camping gas stove. A towel is provided for each guest, as well as plenty of blankets, cushions, a washing up kit, foot pump, cool box & ice blocks. Lighting is from solar powered fairy lights inside & out, and battery powered lanterns. Between 5th and 9th August (inclusive), our site also hosts the Sidmouth Fringe Sessions, a small highly acclaimed music festival that runs simultaneously (but not in conjunction with) the Sidmouth Folk Week. During that period we will be busier than normal and music will play ON SITE from 7pm until very late. We have other sites available for that period if you require somewhere more peaceful so please just ask. We have several tents available and not all are listed on here - please enquire for dates that appear unavailable as we may be able to accommodate!
A quiet, largely over looked village just outside Sidmouth. The Donkey Sanctuary is about a mile away and has free admission.
  • The bell tents were great! The fringe festival was going on at the same time, so the campsite facilities were very busy but still a lovely place to be.

  • We were made to feel very welcome. Accommodation was perfect for our stay. Just the right distance from town to get out and about via car and also on a regular local bus route. The room was very clean and comfortable and our hosts were only too happy to help with any queries we might have. This is our first experience of Air B&B and it will be hard to beat. I would highly recommend this place.

A comfortable, charming house; our home is the perfect location for families and couples seeking a variety of beaches, excellent walking and heaps of nature. In a quiet position, a couple of miles from the beautiful Regency town of Sidmouth. With easy access to the SW Coast path, the famous Jurassic Coastline and the popular Donkey Sanctuary.
Our house has been extended on both sides to make a comfortable four-bedroom home with a generous, lengthy, enclosed garden bursting with shrubs, flower and vegetable beds. Children love the large trampoline, swing and stroking the horses who visit the end of the garden from their paddock. With a total of four 'sheds', plus a Games Studio (Table Football, Pool, Wifi), adjoining the Secret Patio at the end of the garden, there is something for everyone. From the garden you have a fitted kitchen/ breakfast area equipped with all the essentials including range, dishwasher, microwave and fridge-freezer and larder; utility room (washing machine); wet room with WC; dining area (plenty of kids craft materials, futon) through to the sitting room with log burner; TV/DVD, wii, (lots of board games). Upstairs is the family bathroom, master bedroom (king size) with dressing 'room', a double bedroom (tucked under the eaves), two single bedrooms and a useful airing cupboard. The gravel parking area accommodates up to four cars. Please note we have a friendly short-haired black cat, Evie. She comes and goes as she pleases but we would ask guests to top up her dried food every day or two. She can easily be kept out of bedrooms and house swapping guests have found her easy-going. She is even happy to share her space with a dog.
Salcombe Regis is a beautiful, peaceful, tiny settlement lying nestled and half-hidden in the valley, with glorious sea views. A choice of footpaths takes you through the fields to the southwest coast path and the option of an exciting stairway down to the deserted (only accessible by foot) beach. Reward yourselves with homemade tea and cakes through the summer in the shady twelfth century churchyard (Sundays only). Other than the church bells and distant braying of donkeys, you may hear the happy sounds of campers in the campsite on the other side of the valley. The house is a five minute drive to the centre of Sidmouth with a good selection of independent shops, cafes, restaurants, pubs, leisure centre with indoor swimming pool, busy theatre and a cinema. The charming Sidmouth Folk Festival takes place between the 3rd and 10th August 2018. Take the hopper bus from the village and enjoy the wonderful street performers, food and music before returning to the peace of home. The award-winning Sidmouth Fringe Festival is a must for any music-lover and the free performances by up and coming artists are a ten minute walk from the door. Although, being the other side of the valley, we never hear a sound here in Hillside. A pleasant ten minute walk across fields takes you to the family friendly and free Sidmouth Donkey Sanctuary. This area is part of the Jurassic Coast, England's First natural World Heritage Site and an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

  • Dave was incredibly friendly and welcomed us. We had a room with a wardrobe, double bed and a TV. Rear view looks out over back garden and housing further uphill. We had access to wifi and a private bathroom. The bathroom came in very handy as we have a one year old so was great not to have to wait for anyone at bath time. Dave was very accommodating and made us feel at home. He also is knowledgeable of the local area and was able to suggest good places to go and eat. If you're heading off by foot it's probably about a 15 or 20 minute walk into the town but for quick shopping there is a Waitrose very close by. Overall we were very happy and I would certainly recommend this to friends.

The Garden Studio is a Detached purpose built contemporary living space tucked away in our garden within about 15 mins level riverside walk through a park to shops, esplanade and the sea. Facing east so the morning sun streams in. Private deck and lawn space which is a mass of bluebells and daffodils in the spring. 5 mins walk to a bus stop and Spar. Lovely rural walks within 2/300 yards. Well insulated, double glazed and oak flooring. A convenient cabin retreat.
You are quite private with your own access through our garden so can come and go as you like. The Studio was purpose built about 6 years ago and is well insulated, double glazed with a large sliding door and is cedar clad. It has oak flooring and is completely self contained with a small decked area to the front. The Studio measures about 4x6 meters and is 2.10 m high inside (or 6.10ins) so please take this into account if you are very tall. The bed is a NEW KING size with a lovely comfortable new mattress. An ideal retreat for short escapes and those who love the idea of living in a 'cabin'.
It is a quiet residential area which is readily accessible by foot , (about 15 mins) to the shops, pubs, beach and sea via a lovely level riverside walk by the River Sid where you might see the kingfishers or if you are REALLY lucky, an otter. There are many other walks are right on hand and we leave maps with routes marked. The Norman Lockyer Observatory is on the top of Salcombe Hill only about a mile from us and is a great place to explore the heavens. They often have open nights. Just check on the internet. The South West Coastal Path and the Jurassic Coast is right on hand with stunning walks that emanate virtually from the doorstep of The Garden Studio. There is a cycle path close by to the beach/town and you can hire our 2 electric bikes (12 hours notice so we can get them ready for you) if you fancy exploring the area for a day or so on two wheels. The Donkey Sanctuary is only about 1.5 miles away.
  • We spent three nights at The Studio and really enjoyed our stay. It was modern and well equipped with surprising extras like an Amazon Fire Stick. We found everywhere to be easily accessible. We took the short walk into Sidmouth every evening for dinner and also explored the nearby walking trails. We had very little to complain about - it seems as though everything had been thought of!

  • The studio was lovely. Everything was very clean, the room itself was warm and cozy - it was everything and more than we wanted. It's amazing value for money, especially with the location - being only 10/15 minute walk to the town and the seaside. James and Carol were very helpful with directions and all in all very good hosts. Would definitely recommend staying here, and I'm sure I'll be coming back here myself sometime soon!

  • Probably even better than described. The studio has a huge garden in front of it and it's far away from other houses. Everything is high quality, from the forks to the mattress (also king size). Great value for money!

    Drakopoulos2017-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed in the Studio for two nights and loved it. Perfect location - close enough to walk to the town centre and seaside but also hidden away and felt very private. The Studio is lovely - very neat, lots of storage, good sized shower, the bed is very comfy and the patio area was great for sitting outside in the nice weather we were lucky enough to have. Ian was a great host who kept in touch on the run-up to our trip and has loads of local knowledge. Definitely recommend!

    Niamh2017-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • This nice place is next to the town center, you can pick up coffee and meals. The seaside has a beautiful view. The studio has a cozy aesthetic and you can find all things you need (hairdryer, books, tea, etc)

    Maria2017-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Ian was on hand to greet us and was very warm and showed us around the studio letting us know how to operate things. The studio was very comfortable and Carol and Ian had made sure the bed was made and everything was very clean and tidy. They even left coffee, tea and milk for us along with lots of information about the house and of things we could do in the area. The bed was comfy and the kitchen well stocked. It's also only a short walk to the town or pub. All in all it was a lovely and very comfortable stay with everything you could possibly want available in the house. Would highly recommend a stay here

A beautiful, bright, freshly decorated ensuite, ground floor, twin bedroom at the side of our house, with private access. Our home is a 20 minute walk or 5 minute drive to the seafront, cinema, theatre, shops, restaurants, swimming pool, tennis courts and other leisure facilities. The property is in a secluded, tranquil location with lovely views. A few minutes stroll away is the beautiful 'Byes' riverside walk. Local shops include a bakery, chemist, post office and newsagent.
The twin bedroom is spacious, comfortable and has a TV and Wifi access. The beds can be moved together if guests would prefer. Guests have a private, ensuite bathroom. A hospitality tray is provided. The room is to the side of the house and guests have their own private access.
There is a local newsagent, chemist, bakers and petrol station within 5 minutes walk of the property. There is also a Waitrose and a Lidl within walking distance. The Regency town of Sidmouth is situated on a beautiful stretch of the South West coastal path. The surrounding countryside is beautiful and apart from the coast and coastal paths, there are plenty of things to do. Sidmouth is an ideal base for a holiday along the Jurassic Coast.
  • A really lovely room, more spacious than we expected, with comfortable twin beds and a well stocked tea, coffee and biscuits tray. The en suite toilet and shower room is perfect and the Wi-fi is really fast. The street parking is not the problem I had anticipated - during the four nights of our stay we always found a spot under a street light just one minutes walk down to the end of the private road. But remember to bring a torch at night as it can be very dark (it's years since we saw the stars so clearly!) The things we appreciated most were the absence of noise, and most of all Helen's warm welcome. She really went out of her way to make sure that we were comfortable. We'll be back!

    Michael2017-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • I can find no fault with property. It has everything you need, is beautifully presented and immaculately clean. Helen is a wonderful host and the house is in an ideal location just being a mile from Sidmouth seafront. Highly recommended.

  • Lovely bright room with view over Devon hills. Helen is a great host really friendly and helpful.

    Val2017-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • The accomodation at Helen is brilliant! It is so clean. The bed very, very comfortable! A nice and big bathroom and a very quiet place without any noises of cars. Very easy to walk to town to eat something in the evening! Wonderful and lovely place! Especially Helen is an awesome person with an open and big heart!

    Johanna2017-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • We spent a really good time in this nice and bright double room who is a few minutes away from the sea side in Sidmouth. The place was immaculate, and the street is very quiet. Helen has been such a nice host for us and made sure we were completely satisfied.

    Martine2017-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • The room that Helen is offering, is presented in an immaculate manner, well decorated and furnished, in a quiet residential area, yet in easy walking distance of the centre of town. Helen is a very welcoming and helpful host, and we both thoroughly enjoyed our stay with her.

  • Helen's place is a real hidden gem, we really enjoyed our stay, it was so quiet, the room is beautifully decorated and so clean with a lovely ensuite shower room, it's a very nice flat 15 minute walk into town, Helen was so helpful and made us feel very welcome , she met us on arrival and showed us around the room, I can't recommend Helen's place highly enough, we would love to return. James

  • This is a lovely property. It has recently been converted & refurbished to a very high standard. There are two outside seating areas which are well furnished, one with a barbecue. It is very secluded and peaceful. Otters St Mary with a good supermarket is nearby. We had daily trips out to the coast. The kitchen is well equipped, so it was a pleasure to come back each evening, make a meal & share it outside looking up at the stars!

    Dee2017-06-21T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the burrow. Claire and her family were very welcoming and helpful. The accommodation was excellent and the kitchen had everything you needed. I would recommend staying here to anyone.

  • We stayed for 2 nights and absolutely loved it. The house is clean, well equipped and very welcoming. We had 4 children (2 under 2) with us and a dog....and Claire has thought of everything from jigsaws, toys, travel cots, poo bags for the dog, towels for the dog....everything! Claire was so welcoming and the farm is just wonderful. Would highly recommend and really hope we get to come back and stay again soon.

  • Amazing house with beautiful surroundings . Highly recommend. Will stay again .

  • Claire's communication was brilliant to start with & then such a warm welcome too! The house is wonderful with excellent facilities & very well appointed. The underfloor bathroom heating a total luxury. There is nothing you could think of that hasn't been provided & to an excellent standard. Location is idyllic in the rural countryside but near to the coast. We will return but for longer next time.

    Alison2016-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful few days here in between Christmas and new year, quite a short time, but felt like we'd had a real break as the cottage is so well appointed, warm and comfortable, so we were able to settle in and enjoy immediately. Claire is an excellent host communicating everything we needed to know, both in person when we arrived and in the house guide. We'd definitely love to return someday....

A stylish and spacious 2 bedroom holiday cottage on the East Devon Jurassic coast, next to the world famous Donkey sanctuary. The property is fully equipped with all modern appliances for you to enjoy a comfortable stay.
Please be aware there is some building work going on around the site but this should have no impact upon the cottage or immediate surroundings,
  • Very nice cottage with everything you need. Lots of space. Perfectly situated for exploring the Jurassic Coast. The closest beach is half an hours walk away but very much worth the trip. A couple of things didn't work perfectly when we got there, but Aaron had them fixed just about immediately, very nice. The reason this place didn't get all 5 stars is because the cottage park is a bit odd. There's a reception and common building, which is not quite completed and just empty. There's a cottage not finished. The parking for the adjoined cottage was in front our ours. And then the Wifi (which I sort of needed) was simply non-existent and cell phone coverage was very spotty.

    Daniel2017-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • Fab place - 5 minutes walk to the donkey sanctuary > Brilliant views from the bungalow - in a quiet location . As others have mentioned it is really close to the coastal path so its great for walkers and only a mile or 2 from Sidmouth for pubs and restaurants. Bungalow has everything you might need -

    Steve2017-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely modern cottage in stunning location. Everything was immaculate and comfortable. Short walk to the Donkey Sanctuary and longer, but beautiful, walks to Sidmouth or Branscombe along the coastal paths. Aaron was very polite and fast to communicate with, check in was very easy by code. We will likely return!

  • We had the best five days of our UK trip staying at Aaron's immaculate, newly renovated and peaceful cottage. It couldn't have been better. Just steps away from the Donkey Sanctuary where we spent many mornings and evenings. Hope to be back!

  • A lovely bungalow in a nice, quiet holiday village, the bungalow, with level access, located on the edge of the site provided privacy and great views, it was rather warm in the height of summer with all the windows. Modern and light interior with well equipped kitchen and a private patio area. Located next to the donkey sanctuary (worth a visit esp for kiddies). Short drive from lots of beachs and town to get supplies! Basics like milk, butter and bread were awaiting us in the fridge, with tea and coffee-much welcome after a long drive! Aaron replied promptly to any queries. Limited wifi access, which can be seen as a positive or negative, depending on your attachment to devices, we rather liked it! I would definitely recommend staying for an escape to seaside! Thank you Aaron!

A beautiful quirky house, cosy & idyllic; our picturesque cottage is the perfect location for families and couples alike. Half a mile from Branscombe and a stones throw from Sidmouth on the famous Jurassic Coastline.
Dunscombe Cottage is nestled 2 miles from Branscombe on a tiny hedgerow laneon the jurassic Coast. A gorgeous, thatched Grade II listed cottage with 17th cent. origins it sits proud within the green lush countryside. Children will have a fabulous time exploring the space playing ball games or playing mums and dads in the playhouse. Pony paddocks and a few dwellings beyond and Sidmouth’s famous donkey sanctuary, 500 yards away. Footpaths lead from the cottage, including to the Coast Path and beach ( mile). Inside, simple white walls, a few low lintels, heavy beams and original blackened oak spiral staircase/banister gives this house an Alice in Wonderland feel. From the garden you have a large fitted kitchen/breakfast area room equipped with all the essentials including electric range, dishwasher, microwave and fridge-freezer) with slate floor, utility room (washing machine, tumble drier, loo); living room with huge inglenook (ornamental as the woodburner must not be used due to insurance obligations), TV/DVD, original oak-panelling and pretty garden view; second living room-cum-children’s play area with toys, tiled floor (rug) and woodburner (ornamental). A Spiral staircase leads up to three generous bedrooms – two double and bunkbeds. This is an absolute gem of a cottage.
Branscombe: one of the prettiest villages on the south coast with a fine pebbly beach, located at the meeting of two valleys or combes. Sidmouth (seaside town), 3 miles. Lyme Regis (lovely seaside harbour town) and famous 'Jurassic' fossil coast, 10 miles.
  • Lovely Cottage in a great location near to both Sidbury and Sidmouth, which is where we were visiting family. Much larger than expected, with a massive kitchen diner, lovely lounge and garden. We only stayed for a long weekend, but would love to come back for a longer stay and enjoy sitting out in the garden and walks along the coast again.

  • Fantastic, picturesque, spacious home. Well equipped throughout and very comfortable. Beautiful and large gardens for our 2 children to run around and play in. Lots to do in local area and the Donkey Sanctuary is in walking distance so you don't always have to get in the car. Cant wait to return!

    Helena2017-04-10T00:00:00Z
  • An amazing place to stay. The house itself is extremely well furnished and everything is included. It's particularly well setup for children. We have 2 boys, ages 2 and 5. There was lots for them to do in and out of the house. The house is in a great location for exploring the coast and surrounding attractions. Emelie provided excellent communication with everything we needed and I would not hesitate to recommend to anyone else!

    Stuart2017-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • This home and location were spectacular. Short ride to village towns, great hiking and in the evenings we enjoyed cooking and playing games. Wonderful for a family reunion. Home had everything you would need.

    Donna2017-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed at the cottage for three weeks, after my wife had been admitted to hospital. It's a lovely old stone thatched cottage. Some pretty low wooden beams needed a bit of care, but I'm 6ft 4in and had no major problems. We found everything we needed here, and it was perfect for family and friends to stay or visit. If you love city life, you'll stay somewhere else. If you like rural surroundings, you can't help but love this place. I would happily return.

    Brendan2017-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful character house in a great location for walks along coastal paths and countryside hedgerows. This is a very well designed home that is obviously loved by its owners. Very well equipped and spacious country kitchen, two modern bathrooms, extra toilet as well as plenty of bedrooms/beds for our group of six adults. The only caveat being the many low door frames which unfortunately connected to often with heads, especially during nocturnal wanderings. Nevertheless, we had always wanted to experience living in such a period home and we were not disappointed. A car was essential for us as the property is relatively isolated.

    Tom2016-12-04T00:00:00Z
  • Dunscombe Cottage is just the perfect place to stay with a young family. There was space galore, beaches on your doorstep and things to do on our rainy days. There was genuine sadness when we had to leave. Five star.

  • Richard was a great host! He gave us very clear instructions for the house and everything was as described on the listing. The room was comfortable (especially the bed) and cosy with a lot of storage space. Towels along with tea and coffee were also provided as part of our stay. The bathroom was also clean and spacious. Thanks to Richard's hospitality we felt very welcomed, followed his suggestions on where to eat and which places to visit and would definitely recommend his place!

  • Richard was terribly sweet. He has a very lovely home and couldn't be nicer. He was very helpful with directions. The bed was very comfortable and room was very nice and kept at a nice temperature. It's about a 15 minute walk to most of the shops and waterfront but a straight shit there so very easy to navigate. The bathroom was very nice and clean. Overall would definitely recommend- the room in comparison to the hotel Elizabeth was quite big- if you're nearby definitely check this out :)

My place is close to restaurants and dining, family-friendly activities, the beach, public transport, and nightlife. You’ll love my place because of the views, the people, the ambiance, and the location. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travellers. The owners live in the property but will keep out of your way! The house is 15 mins walk from the beach and has a bus stop 2mins away for those further excursions.
The room available contains the following furniture and fittings; 4ft 6" bed with bed linen supplied 2x 3 Drawer Bedside Cabinets 2x Bedside Lamps Side Chair 4 Drawer Chest 1x Small TV with internet TV box 1x Standard Lamp 2x Towels Assorted Hangers for inbuilt wardrobe space Travel Iron The rest of the house is equipped with kitchen, bathroom, garden and lounge. All of which the guest are welcome to use as long as the hosts aren't using the space already. Each of these areas are equipped with fixtures and fittings accordingly the guests are welcome to use.
The neighbourhood is a fully residential area, made up of predominantly private ownerships however there are a small number of council houses still on the estate. In general its a very quiet area with mainly working people living here, the noisiest thing is the seagulls! Parking can be tricky on the Arcot Park area however this won't be an issue for you as you can utilise our off road space.
  • Lovely homely spot with a cute kitchen and living area. Bright room with light beaming in! The hosts had epic chat and heaps of local knowledge of the area. the place was clean and the guys were well organised and went above and beyond to help me with my stay! Would come back in a heartbeat!

  • Room, shared bathroom and kitchen were just what we needed. Matt was helpful and everyone was friendly. Very close to Sidmouth beach (20 mins walk), local shops/supermarkets within walking distance too. Very good place to stay if you are exploring Sidmouth and the local area. Would definitely recommend.

  • What a fantastic host!!! As we arrived very late 1.20 am (sorry about that ) Matt stayed up waiting for us despite the fact that he had to be up for work the very same morning. Matt has shown us where thing are etc before we chased him to bed. The house was very clean and bed very comfortable and nicely made for us. As we stayed in bed a little later due to our late arrival we have not heard them getting up. Definitely recommend a stay with them and if we are at that end again would definitely stay with Matt again.

  • Matt was really welcoming and helpful - even though we were late, tired and dirty. Just the right amount of attention. Bed was comfortable too.
