Beautiful place.

We loved this place. It felt like our own home in a colonial city. The neighborhood is close to all the city's attractions. The stairs are steep but you can think of it as practice for walking up the Mayan pyramids. It was fully equipped and with items of very high quality.

Perfect location for getting to know the town and really beautifully designed space and very comfortable bed- could not have been more perfect! Especially loved the plants and light fittings.

The place was just perfect. It totally suit our needs. Privacy but close to all amenities. We felt at home and loved it !!!

We really loved Valladolid and that was down in large part to this beautiful flat! It's on the most lovely street in central Valladolid (about 8 mins walk from the ADO terminal). Definitely check out the little shops along the same street. The flat itself was really clean, decorated in a really lovely style, the air con worked well! Amazing place. We've never experienced an Airbnb stay that felt so integral to the success of our trip — it was a central part of our Valladolid experience. The loft itself is a fun place to visit: wonderful, crazy stairs that require giant steps to climb; sturdy old rocking chairs that turn the Valladolid sidewalk into a sweet view of the neighborhood bustle; gorgeous wall sconces that light up a bedroom with amazing lines and light. And we didn't even get a chance to try out the hammock! Go. Stay there. It's truly wonderful.

What an amazing experience to stay in this charming historical loft in Valladolid. This is by far one of the coolest Airbnb experiences I've had. From the moment the antique doors swung open, I was in love with the authenticity of the place, the simplicity of the antique design and classic touches with modern comforts. Checking in was a breeze and the location couldn't have been more perfect. Make sure you can climb steep stairs up to the loft bedroom area and be ready to be charmed by this hidden gem of Valladolid.

Ricardo & Adriana were great hosts. They greeted us our first evening to provide us with the key & at to share with us all the great local places to eat/drink/visit. Their home is exactly as pictured and it's in a great location nearby all the fun Valladolid has to offer. We felt very safe walking in the neighborhood & would definitely stay here again on our next trip to Valladolid.

Sara and Mauricio are amazing people. They're very welcoming and do everything to make you feel at home. They gave us all the advices to discover the area and to make our holiday unforgettable! The room is very cosy, nice and clean. I highly recommend this accommodation and its owners.

We loved our 4-day stay in Valladolid, due in no small part to our accommodations and the warm welcome we received from Sara and Mauricio. The room was exactly as described, very comfortable, with a good bed, and room to unpack. The house is very sweet, small but comfortable and welcoming. Sara and Mauricio were very nice and helpful and we got to know them quite well. Sara makes a good breakfast, too, with fresh fruits and juices and home baked breads and good coffee. Sara and Mauricio have made a map of the town, pin-pointing places of interest and restaurants, which I took a picture of with my phone and referred to many times when wandering the city. The house is within easy walking distance of the main square, and a very safe neighborhood. Excellent Internet. All in all, the house was excelente and the hosts maravilloso. We would stay there again any time and highly recommend it.

Sara met us at house and gave us a map and some advices on places we have to visit, she is always cheerful and cute, Mauricio also seems to be a nice guy but pityfully we didn't have chance to talk a lot. The room looks the same as in the pic and is really cosy, the only small thing -the bed is comfy itself but it's made on rollers and while you are sitting on the bed or if you want to read a book half-sitting half-laying you will always find your pillow on the floor coz bed moves extremely easy.. I think it's possible to fix it somehow :) Nevertheless I reccomend this place, it's good location (hard to find the first time thou) 10-15 min from every main spot.

Mauricio and Sara are awesome! They're hospitable, helpful and strive to help you with any (even the tiniest) problem. Staying with them gave me that "feeling of home far from a real home" you're always looking during travels. The room is super cozy with 2 hammlocks you can sleep in. The best cafe in town ("Yerba Buena") is in 2 min walking from the house. Thanks a lot, guys! Will be happy to visit you again in Valladolid or Punta Allen ;)

My sister, nephew & I all loved staying at Sara & Mauricio’s!! They make everything so easy — from starting your day with a delicious, filling breakfast; to providing guidebooks in the room (not to mention the great information wall in the hallway!); to being the kind of people who are there if/when you need/want help or conversation yet providing you also with time to do your own thing (& be “at home” in their home). They are both great resources on Valladolid & the whole Yucatan Peninsula (& probably beyond — but we didn’t tap them on that—yet?!? :). We were all very comfortable there, they’re incredibly nice people, & we would highly recommend them!

We had a great time staying at Sara and Mauricio's house! The house is in a quiet area, very clean, great fruits and homemade coffee for breakfast. I wish we had more time to chat in the backyard.. Thank you for all the good advices!

Staying with Sara, Mauricio (and Lupita) was like staying with good friends. It was a wonderful start to our trip. Sara has amazing tips on where to eat and go in Valladolid and she puts everything on a map that she made (she was working on a new and improved one when we were there!). Sara also makes a kick ass breakfast and we had good conversations while enjoying her homemade bread. Mauricio grew up in Yucatan and knows it very well and is a joy to talk to. Lupita is a sweetheart who greets you in the morning with a smile. The room is very clean and the bed is super comfortable. Clean towels, wonderful coffee, and unlimited drinking water are provided. Valladolid is a warm, quaint town and we would love to return to Sara & Mauricio's one day.

Excellent Airbnb! The place is central, close to convent. Is wide, comfortable and has Netflix!! Memo was pending of my arrival and stayed. Very good place and I hope to return and of course I will choose it again.

Memo's place was great! It was walking distance to everything around Valladolid and close to Chichén Itza. He was very communicative and helped us with questions we had during our stay.

This apartment was amazing. The location is great, just two blocks from the main plaza. Great AC and very clean. Memo's communication was always prompt.

This was one of our favorite airbnb, the location is so great it is so close to la zona colonial and you can even see part of the cathedral from the balcony. We met with Memo's family while he was gone during check-in and they were so nice! The place was clean and had everything we needed. Would recommend

Great location just two blocks from the ado bus station. Also very close to supermarket and restaurants. Lovely apartment, spotlessly clean and great WiFi with the added bonus of Netflix for chilling out in the evenings :) would recommend!!

Trevor was extremely helpful throughout my entire stay, and helped me enjoy Valladolid to its fullest potential. The room was clean and exceeded my expectations!

Trevor is a very welcoming host, ready to give tips and help. This is a small hostel with some 6 individual rooms, a restaurant, an outside bar and a pool. Centrally located, just a few minute walk from the centre of Valladolid with restaurants, bars, shops and sights, as well as the bus station, this is a great place to stay.

Trevors place is great place for young travellors. It has a bar at the pool which many locals attend. The room was very spacious and clean even though the matress is not very comfortable. Trevor told us about some interesting places in and around town. All in all we really enjoyed our stay.

My wife and I stayed for three nights, and there are a few upsides and downsides worth noting Pros: -Super friendly staff with good local recommendations -The rooms are huge, and the common areal with a pool is nice -Good value overall with breakfast Cons Rooms don't have great ventilation, so they get really really hot. My ceiling fan hardly worked which made sleeping rough until we found additional fans can be requested -Water availability was intermittent, and low pressure in shower when it worked -Wifi works well, but only in common area

Nice small place in centre of Valladolid. Pool is a plus ( as it gets hot ) . And the restaurant attached is good. Easy communication in English an the couple of freebies at the bar were nice.

Really great place to stay and the food in the restaurant was unbelievable. Highly recommendable.

We stayed only one night but it was great! Trevor was very helpful, hospitable and friendly. We arrived before check in to drop our bags off and Trevor greeted us with coffee and salad plate. Later in the evening, he gave us a shot of tequila (which was our first in Mexico). You can enjoy nice food and some drinks in the restaurant. We had mix ceviches which was delicious. Location is also great, 5 minutes walk to the cathedral and the plaza, close to ADO bus station. There's also also a pool. We would definitely recommend staying at this place.

Amazing hostel! The staff is great and Trevor is an attentive, and amazing host. It is a really cool space that was great for drinks and a swim. Make sure you chat over a beer with Trevor for some tips around town. Dinner was delicious as well. Great location and great value. All you could ask for!!

It was a really nice stay. The room was really clean, the bed comfortable and the breakfast good! Although I arrived at around 10 pm the check in was np problem and after my check out I could leave my luggage at the hostel as well. Really nice owner, would recommend to stay there!

Susi and Miguel are amazing Host! The location is perfect you can walk anywhere or bike if you are feeling like taking a ride. Their breakfast is an authentic Mexican experience! My wife is a vegetarian and Susi was kind enough to make her a veggie meal, Make sure you are up early so you can sit with them at their table! There are hammocks at the room and outdoors. Susi is the best host I have ever had. She is always available to advise you places you must see, help you to go there. She will also explain all Mexican dishes. The breakfast they make for every guest is great. The house is very comfortable you will find hamacs a swimming pool, so you also can rest in this house. Great experience.

Susi is a very lovely hostess and though she does not speak much English there is someone communicating in perfect English about the booking. She made a very substantial Yuchatan breakfast which my husband loved. I don't eat meat so she immediately made me eggs and toast and there were lovely fresh fruits and juice and good coffee. There grounds of her home are quite novel with some beautiful tropical pet birds.

We were so lucky to stumble upon this place, we chose it mainly because of the stellar reviews and we're delighted to be able to leave another one. We received a great welcome, we really liked the quirky holiday home our hosts have created, a great space to relax in, a tasty breakfast and a really good location. We only stayed for one night but would have liked to have stayed for longer. Worth a visit.

We loved our stay in Valladolid at Susi's house, we felt so welcome and comfortable. It is a wonderful home in a great location - close to the bus stop (10 mins walk) and to the centre of town. Susi was very generous with her time and her home, she told us about the town and made lots of great recommendations. Susi and Miguel are amazing hosts. They are incredibly sweet and go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. The room was nice and clean and breakfast was great as well (they made us a typical local dish and it was enough to feed a foster home). Only things we encountered were a very weak wifi connection and our room was very close to the street so we definitely needed earplugs for a goods night rest. But again, if you want a real Mexican experience, these people are just the best.

Trevor was a great host, he gave us a list of things to do on our trip and was really helpful and friendly. The room was spacious and clean, the wall decoration is really cool! In the evening there is a nice bar where you can chill after a day of walking around. We enjoyed our stay and would definetly come back!

Walking distance to ADO bus station and centre of town. Good budget accomodation and pool to cool down in. Fresh fruit plate for breakfast. There is constant music playing which you can hear from your room, and no seat on the toilet.

Stayed 2 nights in a steaming hot room and got a lot of mosquitobites. I would not stay here again unless aircondition is installed. Rooms are big, but there is no door to the toilet, which is just a part of the room. The poolwater was not clean and wifi didn't reach our room. Nice staff and great location. Arrival and checkout was easy.

Pulpo, the hostel that Trevor and his boyfriend own, is a beautiful and modern place to stay, complete with good art on the walls and a great restaurant! The rooms are spacious and comfortable and include fans, and there is a swimming pool for when it gets too hot. Trevor was full of recommendations and even shared a drink (or three) with us one night. Thank you Trevor, nos vemos!

We had a lovely stay. Susi is so sweet! She's extremely helpful and generous, we don't speak Spanish but it wasn't a problem. Breakfast was amazing! Lots of fruit and a different and delicious dish on both mornings. The hot water is a bit slow in coming but when it does it's nice and hot. The location is good - a 10 - 15 minute walk to the main square but right across the road from San Bernardino's - a really interesting place to visit. Susi very kindly gave us a lift to nearby Oxman Cenote - an amazing deep cenote - very swimable. We went at 9:30 and had it to ourselves - very cool!

I've had many airbnb experiences and this was one of the best. Suzi is so wonderful and we were able to easily communicate even thought my Spanish is sub-par. The house was BEAUTIFUL and had everything you could ever need. Suzi fed me THE most delicious home cooked food for breakfast and lunch. She is so generous and lovely and I enjoyed her hospitality, food, and beautiful home. The bed was comfortable, the home was walkable and in a safe neighborhood. I would highly recommend a stay here!!

Very nice place within walking distance of the center of Valladolid. Susi gave us a lot of advice concerning things to do around the city and made us a very good local breakfast. Bonus: our room included a hammock!

We stopped over in Valladolid for one night en route from Cancun > Holbox and absolutely loved our stay at Susi's. Susi was an incredible host - checking us in and making sure we were comfortable as well as letting us know about an event that was taking place in Valladolid that evening. We had to leave very early and Susi prepared us breakfast and coffee earlier than the breakfast earlier than the normal 8am slot, which we really appreciated. Our room was cosy and the common areas were a perfect place to relax in the evening - we felt so welcome. I would recommend Susi's to anyone who wants a real taste of Valladolid. Lizzie and Natalie

Our stay at Susi's oasis was magnificent! We couldn't have asked for a better host or experience in Valladolid. She is a warm, kind hearted and lovely person. My only complaint is that I couldn't stay longer! I recommend Susi's place to anyone. You will not find a more relaxing, accommodating and genuinely lovely host. This place was so delightful! Next to the ancient convent and right of of the beautiful Calle de los Frailes, it was perfectly located for walking around. The room was super clean, AC was super cold, and Susi was sweet and accommodating. When she greeted us, she and her husband presented a nap and told us great restaurants and places to go. Breakfast was included and was exceptional local cuisine prepared by Susi! It's not the typical continental breakfast you get in the states with some old fruit and croissants. It was a large plate of fresh papaya, oranges, and watermelon, fresh melon juice, coffee, a delicious sandwich with pork prepared the local way and some kind of amazing local bean thing that was out of this world. We felt really lucky to stay here, and will definitely stay here again when visiting Valladolid!

Very comfortable bedroom with A/C, and a very friendly and accommodating place to stay with breakfast in the morning. It was nice to have our privacy but also the company of fellow travelers staying in other units. Also a nice walk from here to the center of town.

We had a lovely stay at Casa Xu'unan. Our room was clean and comfortable, and the whole property was beautiful and inviting, with everything we needed for a perfect stay (including a communal kitchen with a mini fridge and microwave — important for me as I'm on a special medical diet and have to bring most of my food with me). Susi and her family were incredibly welcoming and kind — some of the nicest people we've met on our travels. Our only complaint (and it's a very small one) was that the place was hard to find and get to, mainly due to some construction going on that shut down the street in front. The streets are mostly one way and not on a grid in that area of town so it took us a long time to find a way to the appropriate side street. However, I don't think that would be any problem at all normally! We had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend this place to anyone looking to stay in Valladolid!

Beautiful location just off of Calle de las Frailles, next door to both the Convent and the Taberna de las Frailles. Quiet and comfortable. Doña Susi is lovely!

It was fascinating to see how we all could communicate with one another although i cannot speak a word of spanish unfortunately. Dona susi is a super nice person and did everything she could to make the stay as comfortable as possible. A perfect airbnb for people coming to valladolid with a car (private parking included) which we can only recommend. Nothing to argue about. Gracias dona susi!

Manda greeted me upon arrival at her house and made me feel very welcome. The house was comfortable and it was easy to relax with her in a nice mexican environment. The morning breakfasts on the patio were delicious and with interesting conversations. Manda offered lots of insight into all that is available in Valladolid and its surroundings. The home is in a great location so that it is easy to access everything. She also has a friendly cat and dog that added to the fun of staying there.

Amanda has a beautiful home set in the colonial style city of Vallodolid. She was very accommodating and warmly greeted us with cool tea after a long drive. Great home and space to be in. Easy walk to the city center. Lots to explore in the area and bikes to rent which is a fun way to get around. Yummy breakfast on the terrace. Nice conversation. Overall great experience.

This was a wonderful AirBNB experience. Manda was a friendly and helpful host - she made us feel very much at home and and we loved staying in her beautiful house. She has a lovely, friendly dog and a sweet little kitten (we will miss them)! Valladolid is a great town - much more like 'real' Mexico than Cancun or Tulum. We would definitely return to Valladolid and we would absolutely stay with Manda again if we did!

Love Manda and everything about her place , she is very talented designer I even bought beautiful dress from her.her place feels like living in the fairy tale . Highly recommended .

We had an excellent time staying with Amanda. Her home is a very comfortable colonial building furnished with a mix of her artwork and a collection of eccentric pieces. We enjoyed spending our mornings relaxing in our room looking at her Cholombianos book or in the garden simply lounging on her hamacas. Downtown Valladolid was about a 10 minute walk for us as we took a different street each time to get a glimpse of all the interesting Mexican homes along the way. Around the corner from Amanda's is an old bakery that looks and operates very "Old World". We became addicted to their empanadas de crema de coco (coconut cream). The next time we're in Valladolid we definitely hope to stay again in Amanda's home.

We had a very nice time at Manda's house in Valladolid. It's a great place, decorated with style and care. It was easy to get to the central plaza and various restaurants, shops and town activities. I loved spending time in her garden/back yard in the mornings. We had some interesting conversations with Manda. I recommend it to other visitors.

This place is fantastic! We went to Valladolid on a whim and it ended up being one of the highlights of our trip, in large part due to Trevor, his friendly, welcoming attitude, his recommendations, and his awesome hotel/restaurant. The food is amazing at Pulpo, the staff is friendly, the pool is nice, and the room is a bargain. We highly recommend staying here and letting Trevor tell you all the best places to go in Valladolid and elsewhere.

Trevor is a really nice host and has good ideas/tips on what sights to see. The room is great for the price and is located inside or above a restaurant that he just opened a couple of weeks ago and is named Pulpo. Food was excellent wished I took some with me for on the road :)

Trevor is a great host super helpful with what to do and very nice to hangout with.we were there only two days but he made me wish we were there longer.beds are a little bit hard and it can be hot at night but I honestly dont mind that.If you are in valladolid you should stay at his place for sure!

The rooms are really spacious, and a very short walk to town. Trevor is really helpful and friendly. Our only issues were that the room didn't really cool down at night, even with the fan on and the bed had some slightly prominent springs. We really enjoyed staying here.

Trevor is a great guy, talkative, very pleasant and always ready to help. The room is clean and ok value for the money. I have to mention that Trevor turned out to be very kind because he let me to stay a few more hours in the room after check-out, thanks for that and I appreciate it :-)

Our welcome when we got here was fantastic! Trevor was so nice, accommodating, knowledgeable about the area and just plain fun to hang out with! The pool, bar & breakfast area was nice as well. Most restaurants & shopping are within walking/biking distance, and Wed-Sun there is an amazing light show down town. The down side was the rock hard beds and it was very, very hot. Would love to come back and stay once all the up-dates are completed.

We loved our stay here !! Susi had always a smile on her face and made us feel very welcomed ! Everything was so great, our room on the upper level was very comfy, very clean, we had all we needed and even a small kitchen just for us and another room, we appreciated it so much to prepare our picnic or take an early breakfast(to go very early to Chichen Itza ! )..Otherwise we had delicious breakfast every morning with fresh juice and fruits, eggs and toast (as we are vegetarians Suzy provided us a perfect option !)and very good coffee. We enjoyed the pool when it was so hot in the afternoon ! And we took the bikes to go to the Cenote Oxman and we loved it ! We were just 2minutes from the Convento and the light and sound show played in the evening is really great ! Just 5 minutes next to it there's also a lovely restaurant with a nice garden with fresh vegetarian options : Yerba Buena ! There's so much to see in the area and at the same time it's great to enjoy Susi's place with the hamacs and the comfy room..and the aircon and a very good wifi too ! Muchissima gracias !

Susi is the ultimate host! The rooms are clean and comfortable. We lucked out and got the room with the best view, which showed beautiful yellow flowering vines growing over the property. They had peacocks and birds that were beautiful. Susi served up the most delicious and local food for breakfast including fresh sliced fruit, coffee, fresh squeezed juice, and some kind of hot meal (tacos, empanadas, and other delicious foods that I don't know the name for). You did not leave breakfast hungry! The house is cornered close to a one-way street that leads to the downtown square. It's a wonderful place to stay if you are in the area.

Our hosts were extremely kind, friendly, and attentive. They provided lots of advice about local transportation and attractions and even offered us a ride to a couple of nearby attractions. The room was modern, well-equipped, and clean. It is centrally located, a short walk from the main square and shops and restaurants. A highly recommended place.

We felt so welcomed upon our arrival. Our room was large, very clean with an air conditioner, a nice roof top patio, access to the beautiful grounds and swimming pool, a kitchenette near our room, and a beautiful breakfast to boot. We had quite a colorful time communicating in two different languages... all smiles. I would suggest to anyone to stay with Susie and her crew in Valladolid. They made the stay there that much more memorable. We would absolutely stay there again. Jaqi and Tor

So pleased we booked a stay here :-) Great communications and the fact that we don't speak Spanish was no problem. A lovely little room with everything we needed and access to a spotlessly clean shared kitchen area. Very near the convent ( so you can watch the light show on the way home from dinner) and super easy to walk into the main square. Very happy to recommend!

Really nice and spacious house in a great location - unfortunately we could only stay one night but wish we had more time! Mirtha was very friendly and went out of her way to greet us (even if we arrived an hour late...). Highly recommended for anyone looking to visit Valladolid.

Mirtha is an absolute sweetheart. She stayed in touch with me to make sure I knew how to get to the place. I had some trouble finding the place since there are two addresses under that number (one has an a, which is the correct one). The location of this place is EVERYTHING. It's right next to the convent, which has a square that happened to be celebrating carnival as I was there. It was also super walkable to other cute restaurants and shops. The place itself is clean and big. I had an issue with the shower not draining correctly but Mirtha immediately called the plumber to fix it. There also isn't great water pressure, but I think that's the case throughout the Yucatán. I didn't get to enjoy the backyard since we were only there for a day, but there's a backyard to enjoy! Also, there are quite a few mosquitoes around so bring bug spray! Overall, I totally recommend staying here!

Had a lovely time chilling out, eating, getting a shave, eating, drinking margueritas, eating, watching the son-et-lumière show against the convent, eating, etc. Close enough to stroll into town without having the noise of the city centre (Valladolid centre is small). Close to the convent square and some good restaurants. Quiet side-street (as quiet as a Mexican town can be at Christmas). The parrot in the house opposite is not dead.

Mirtha welcomed us very warmly, it was a pleasure meeting her. The house is very spacious and in a beautiful neighbourhood. It is in walking distance from the bus station but nevertheless calm and surrounded by nice restaurants. Mirtha provided everything for a rich breakfast, she is just a very thoughtful host! When I forgot my cellular in the house she even brought it to the bus station to rescue me from being without. Thank you so much for everything, Mirtha!

The apartment/ house was beautiful and the Sisal neighborhood is the best to stay in Vallodolid. Very well situated to visit the town and go to very good restaurants. Mirtha was very good at communicating and kept in touch. I would highly recommend this apartment to anyone visiting.

Mirtha couldn't be there as she had an emergency to attend to. We got the keys from the neighbor and there were no issues. Good location just a short walk from the city center in a quiet neighborhood. Had a nice comfortable stay. Only issue was finding the place, but overall we had a great experience!

Full outdoor kitchen for use by all guests, including the large fridge, was a unique amenity. We were pleasantly surprised to have breakfast cooked for us each day, including freshly squeezed orange juice. The room was very comfortable but it's just a double bed - too small for most N. American couples - so I slept in the hammock. Suzi was a very gracious hostess although language was a barrier at times. The yard is very big with lots of sitting areas, a pool, cages of exotic birds, and some big comfortable rocking chairs on the patio. Traffic is very noisy until 10:00, but quiet after that. Good travellers always pack earplugs. You can easily walk to El Centro to find shopping and restaurants.

Susi welcomed us and showed us everything we needed. There was a language barrier but we managed to understand her and all her tips. She is animated and will try to explain to you until you get what she means. She is close to Calle 41a, which is great. We just walked to/from her place to all the interesting spots in Valladolid. We were so happy to know that her spot is central and walkable. Oh, the breakfast is great too. Two days we stayed, different types of meals. We loved it and we love her! Thanks, Susi! :)

Gabriela was very sweet and helpful in giving us travel advice. The rooms were very clean, comfortable, and beautifully decorated. We highly recommend it!

Gabriela was a fantastic host! She was very attentive, friendly and always there when we had any questions. She even took us to the market on our last morning to make sure I got the right spices to make Cochinita and Pollo Pibil :) The rooms are very clean and spacious with a bathroom, a comfy bed (softest sheets!) and even a hammock in the room. The outside area was also spacious with a cooking area, the pool was exactly what we needed after taking the bikes, that were provided, out and about the area. The neighbourhood of Casa Xu'unan is really perfect for Valladolid- there is no need to worry about safety and it is just around the corner from the monastery and the picturesque Calle 41A. We would definitely recommend this place and are sure to come back on our next trip to Yucatan!

I must say I had a very pleasant stay at Casa Xu'unan; the casa; the location; the people were wonderful. Gabriella was an awesome host; the first thing I noticed was her smile; she was so friendly and hospitable, always looking to assist in anyway she could. I didn't speak any Spanish but we got along well with good communication and lots of laughs! Gabriela was always available when needed. Casa Xu'unan was very clean; the bed was quite comfortable and the sheets were so so soft. The casa has a ceiling fan AND an air-conditioner; plenty of space for your luggage and clothes; a housekeeper (Mary – also very kind and friendly) who took care of your casa every day and a fresh breakfast was always at hand. The Casa had a fully equipped outdoor kitchen at your disposal. A wonderful place to be immersed in to experience Mexico's local culture. The complex also had some lovely Mexican mosaic scattered here and there. The location was great: I like to walk (but there are bikes available if you choose to ride) – so it only took 15 minutes to get to Valladolid Central Square... then another 10 minute walk further you will find the Cenote Zaci - amazing! Just across the road from Casa Xu'unan is a convent and besides the beautiful Monastery itself, there is a small museum area with artifacts and information about the cenote and water wheel in the courtyard. Gabrielle was kind enough to drive me to a few of the other beautiful Cenotes on a couple of occasions as well. At night and all day the streets of Valladolid had lots of people are out and about, always passing on a friendly "Hola". I highly recommend to see the Chichén Itzá Mayan Pyramid site while you're there; it's not far away only 40 or so minutes. The public transport was only 15 minute walk so travelling there was no problem at all; also the Taxis are very reasonably priced for local trips. I originally booked for four days, but loved it so much, I extended the stay a few more days. I will be back there soon enough to relax and enjoy. There are plenty of places to see; plenty of things to do; and great Mexican food was always available nearby - lots of local restaurants at very reasonable prices too! Gabriela's house is clean, super well located and with all modern amneties. There is even a hammock in the room! The welcoming is the best part! You'll know everything about what to do in the city and they make you feel at home instantly. Lovely people, lovely place AND there will be a yummy tipical Mexican breakfast served!

La mama who took care of the place itself and the check in was lovely and un doubtful the very best host possible . Service was great and the place was very clean . The only downside would be some street noise and a small barking dog as a neighbor . For the rest : SUPERB

This was an absolutely charming and magical place. Suzy is an angel. The place is a little tropical heaven. The breakfasts were delicious with fresh squeezed orange juice! I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone who wants to experience a beautiful Mexican moment in time.

El hotel es hermoso. Super limpio, esta cerca del centro si viaja en carro, o a unos 10 minutos caminando.

Location is slightly out of city centre, maybe 6 blocks. However owner gave us bikes to use which were amazing. 70 pesos for one day or 100 for 2. Place is large and 3 bathrooms. Nice air conditioning and owner very reactive to any issues. Good stay, definitely worth the price

Jorge's place is perfect and Jorge himself is Perfect! We were 4 people traveling together and the place was big enough. The place is really clean and there's everything you could need. There's also a lot of parking spot in the street. It's true that the AC is a bit loud, but you'll still be able to sleep after a long day out visiting this beautiful country! Jorge is really helpful and the communication was great and easy! I totally recommend this place and this host!!

It's a nice place for the price. It's a bit far from the centre but it is possible to walk and there are cheap taxis. The aircons in the room work well but are really really loud. We were there in rainy season and it smelled a bit like fungus due to the moist and when it rained, the water came down from the walls at some places. The kitchen is fine, everything you need is there. We had some problems with the water but the hosts fixed it quite fast:)

Lots of room and very close to many supermarkets. The location is great and close to the center of town. Fantastic value for the are.

This is place was great. The location is just around the corner from the convent and from calle Los Frailes. Perfect location, place, people and environment! Ahmed parents are great people willing to help and went beyond our expectations. Valladolid is a place worth visiting!

Ahmed's parents were very kind and attentive. They brought some bread for me after I arrived, and they gave me a ride to the bus station when I departed. They were easily accessible by phone, text and (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN). I was only surprised to learn that they don't live on the premises. This listing is fairly new, so they are still working out some of the finer details. There was no "shared kitchen" as described, but they brought in some amenities (small fridge, hot plate, dishes, etc.), after I requested them. They also did not have any bicycles, but they brought in an old tricycle, which was challenging to maneuver and would have been impossible to ride all the way out to the cenotes around town. This apartment listing includes 3 individual rooms, one of which I stayed in. It was a very simple, moderately clean, "bare bones," private room with only an overhead fan and another stand-alone fan. The wifi moderate-to-minimal in strength and speed.

We had a very nice stay at Ahmeds place. It was a great neighborhood and excellent room.

No tuvimos oportunidad de conocer a Ahmed pero sus padres nos ayudaron con la entrada y salida muy amablemente. Justo frente al convento de Bernardino la casa queda a pocos minutos caminando del ADO y centro, encontrando en el trayecto bicicletas para rentar, restaurantes, cafeterías y algunas tiendas interesantes. Estuvimos la noche de Año Nuevo y la zona fue segura aún por la madrugada, un vecindario callado en general. Solo un par de aspectos de limpieza que estoy seguro mejorarán en un futuro.

No conocimos a Ahmed en persona, pero nos recibió su papá. Ambos fueron muy amables, Ahmed en darnos las instrucciones de como llegar a la casa y su papá al recibirnos y explicarnos el funcionamiento de la casa. En general todo estuvo muy bien. Nosotros estuvimos en la habitación que da a la calle, muy comoda y con buena iluminación, pero la calle es muy ruidosa. Seguro en el resto de las habitaciones que se ubican hacia la parte trasera de la casa se evita el problema del ruido de la calle. Recomiendo el hospedaje de Ahmed.

Si deseas disfrutar de las maravillas de Valladolid este es el cuarto ideal, ya que la ubicación es excelente para hacerlo. Lamentablemente no nos recibió Ahmed, pero su papás nos dieron la bienvenida y nos explicaron todo.
