“Besseggen is one of the most popular hiking destinations in Norway, and not without reason. You take the boat from Gjendesheim to Memurubu and follow the path up the hill. For about the whole hike, you walk almost on the edge with several hundred meters right down to the fjord 'Gjende'. It's a safe walk, but gives a little kick because of the height! The great thing about Besseggen is that it's suitable for almost anyone, in any age and shape. It takes around 8 hours in normal speed, but you can put in several breaks along the way, and relax while you enjoy the amazing scenery of the emerald green fjord and majestic mountains.”

“White-water rafting in Sjoa is an adrenaline filled activity. The river runs from Gjende in Jotunheimen to Sjoa in the Gudbrandsdalen valley, where it flows into the river Gudbrandsdalslågen. With different levels of rafting, from easy to extreme, this is an activity fit for all ages and skills.”

“The eclectic yet unpretentious local food served elevates anything from moss plants to mountain trout to a new level. The "brown-cheese and cured reindeer-meat ice-cream" (!) is a culinary wonder.”
