The accommodation was super comfortable and very cute. The price is low considering all quenta with Sophie's house. I recommend getaway to Villa Soriano !!

Shopie is a great person, full of life and motivation. We have spent some very pleasant days and we felt like home. The apartment is highly recommended. I was extremely Frezco despite the high summer temperatures. Thanks for everything Sophie, Paul and Lorraine

Nice welcome from Sophie, lots of little touches including a small liquor .... d`orange homemade! Soriano and the surroundings are filled d`orangers, lemon and grapefruit, just beautiful! Beautiful house / rustic cottage look and feel to the mountain. Shared good times! Go for it !

Sophie was warm and welcoming. After being a world traveler herself for many years, she is extremely fond of her adopted home, "Villa Soriano", and everyone in the village seems to know her. She gave us excellent advice for walking around to orient ourselves. She has made a comfortable and charming home for guests in the ground floor of her brick house with extensive gardens surrounding and a lovely outdoor patio with table and chairs to sit and enjoy the environment. The kitchen is well equipped, dining and living areas have nice furniture, the bed has a very firm mattress. Sophie explained that there is only one restaurant, a pizzeria, in town but there is also a local woman who cooks privately and will deliver to the door (very reasonable price)~ ~ ~ ask Sophie for contact details. Villa Soriano is the first European settlement in Uruguay (1624) so it is historically important. It has several small museums, a good tourist information center, and a lovely waterfront. We were staying with Sophie on the night before the 'shout of ascension' on Feb. 28th which is a lively fiesta in which the whole town participates.

Sophie was a fantastic host. We wish we could've spent more time listening to her stories of traveling the world. The guest house has everything one might need. It's a small town, so it's a good idea to get groceries before you get comfortable here. Clean, spacious. I'd love to stay here again.

Hello! We have spent only one staying in the house and Sophie was super rewarding. We were greeted with much joy she and her dog Lola. The cottage has a well gaucha decor, this super-equipped, even you got a grill to light a fire and air-condition the environment. Heating is provided by a stove with carafe that, economically, Sophie switch off overnight. It leaves you prepared a tray of cookies, oranges from their own garden and candy. The place is easy to find, the setting is very cute, walk along the pier is very picturesque. We have spent a beautiful stay. We recommend high chalet Sophie to meet Villa Soriano.

Sophie made us feel like friends she was welcoming into her home. She did everything possible to make us feel comfortable and at ease. Staying with Sophie was an enjoyable and memorable experience. We are very grateful for her hospitality.

The best thing about staying with Alejandra and her family was the easy and friendly relationship with Alejandra, in fact with her whole family. Second best thing were the quiet surroundings outside of town. Alejandra would share a ride when she was headed into town and her daughter gave me a ride once on her motobike too. I enjoyed the animals that Julio is keeping in the backyard as well as the wild ones that abound there. During my stay I was basically part of the family which I enjoyed very much. It was a nice give-and take. Thank you for sharing so much with me!

La casa de Alejandra es un espacio único! Mui agradable escuchar el sonido de los pajaros e del viento em las arboles durante el dia. Ademas, la convivência con esta familia simpática es mui buena. y enriquecedora.

Gustavo and Sandra are fantastic hosts, staying with them is like visiting friends! The house is right by the beach and is perfect for relaxing, the breakfast is incredible and you will not meet two more friendly and welcoming people.

I really liked the dedication and love with which Rubio face any task (from home to make breakfast). I felt very welcome. And they cared at all times for me. It is a highly recommendable to know the quiet Nueva Palmira (and incidentally extended to Carmelo and Colonia) and have a good place.

La Casa del Sol se encuentra directamente en Río de Uruguay, cerca del pequeño ferry a El Tigre, un no Topp posición final. La casa en sí está diseñado muy atractivo y artístico. El entorno y todo el lugar es tranquilo. El desayuno está decorado profusamente y con amor. Sandra le importa fürsorglichst a los huéspedes. La habitación individual era muy pequeña, alrededor de 6 m2 y lleno de cosas de la hija. La cama necesita un nuevo colchón. Aparte de la nevera en la cocina fue prometido a los huéspedes a utilizar cualquier cosa. Así sentimientos mixtos.

The house was in a great location and good value for money. Gisela was a fantastic host who went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable. 100% recommendable!

Villa Soriano was the first settlement in Uruguay. Today it is a sleepy and relaxing fishing village on the Rio Negro. Gisela can provide breakfast while lunch and evening meals are available at the restaurant facing the river. We found Gisela to be an interesting, helpful, and gracious hostess who has travelled extensively after growing up in West Berlin and eventually deciding to settle in Villa Soriano.

El lugar es muy cálido y super agradable!!! Sandra y Gustavo son muy buenos anfitriones y están atentos a todo. El Hostel está en un lugar privilegiado frente al río, es imposible no sentir el placer de estar en Nueva Palmira.

Mi estadía en la casa del sol fue simplemente ESPECTACULAR !!! Me encanto el lugar, Gustavo muy amable estuvo pendiente de mi todo el tiempo, me ayudo para que llegara a todos los ligares sin ningun contratiempo, la casa muy aseada, el ambiente muy tranquilo , ame los desayunos hechos con mucho amor. Fueron unos días muy especiales, descanse mucho, me desconecte del mundo , y me encontré con una paz increíble. Muchas gracias casa del sol !!! :) Los recomiendo 100% y volvería sin dudarlo. This is a great clean house and have all the amenities, reception is extraordinary ROSARIO on your way to the bus stop and do share your Met (cookies) and drinks .During the trip makes you small the food is excellent and breakfast with the wonderful woman to smile !!!! . Valeria her daughter serves as the administration away so we feel good .for the apartment rooms are spacious, the bed is very good, air conditioning, TV, Wi-Fi are large 2 large bedrooms .cuisine spacious, TV .proche shopping center 300m .logement well drilled, sécuritéok.

Rosario is very friendly and speaks great English. She's an architect and restored this room herself. It's very nice and has a lot of character. It's just off the main square, but very quiet as it is set back in the building which holds 2 small offices and another bedroom. Additionally, she has bikes which you can borrow. I did just that and had a scenic ride down the river. Very good stay, highly recommended!
