  • We had a lovely time in this beautiful, charming cottage! It was as described - cosy yet spacious. It is situated in the middle of all the visiting spots in north Norfolk. The chickens and fresh eggs were a bonus. Kate was a great host - lots of ideas for us. We would love to go back!

  • This is a beautiful cottage in Norfolk with everything you could possibly need. The house has comfy sofas, an open fire, games, wi-fi, a spacious kitchen, lovely cosy bedrooms and a beautiful garden. I came to stay because I was on a painting holiday in North Creake. Kate could not have been a nicer host. She really helped me before my trip to answer any questions I had and she was totally delightful when I was there. You couldn't hope for a nicer hostess and a more fabulous person! Thank you Kate.

  • Kate popped in to give us a warm welcome and a heads up on some local knowledge and the Pub opening times, she lives in the adjoining cottage so would be to hand if needed which meant we had the place to ourselves which was nice. There is a charming country cottage feel to the place and we enjoyed the cosy wood burner on our return from the local pub. There was everything you could possibly need for a great self catering stay in a beautifull part of the country.

  • This is a lovely place, very tastefully furnished and totally cosy. We were warmly welcomed by Kate and there were biscuits, milk and eggs as well as other staples (oil, vineyar, sugar etc), which makes it so much easier to settle down immediately. The situation is wonderful for the whole region, very central and totally quiet, with a beautiful garden. We will surely be back! Thank you, Kate

    Eddie2017-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • The description of the property was entirely accurate as were the photos. It was a lovely little cottage in a great area which was perfect for our nearby wedding. We had one slight blip with the key which I understand was not Lucy's fault but we spoke to her and it was resolved very quickly. The kitchen and living area were great and have everything to allow you to cook and enjoy the evening. We also benefitted from the nice garden as the weather was good which was a bonus. I would highly recommend the cottage for an enjoyable quaint stay in Norfolk.

  • We had a lovely few days at Rosie's place, thanks in large part to her thoughtful hints and tips for places to eat and things to do with the kids. With a small playpark and pub on the doorstep of the cottage, and pretty village green, you can even stretch your legs post day tripping. The cottage has everything you need and is very comfortable and quiet. Highly recommended! The bunk bed room is lovely and dark if you have kids who are used to a blackout blind - but the double bed rooms have very sheer coverings on the windows so expect to rise with the sun!

  • We had a lovely time in Rosie’s cottage and felt right at home. I would highly recommend it if you’re looking for a relaxing time away from a busy city life. We spent our days eating great food in surrounding pubs and taking walks along the beach and strolling around the streets of nearby village Burnham Market. Rosie was very quick in responding to my messages and everything was clearly communicated.

  • Chapel Cottage is a lovely place with a well appointed kitchen and good amenities. It is based in a great location right near Burnham market and some interesting tourist spots. I would definitely recommend it as a good place to stay for a few days.

    Angela2017-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is well positioned in the little village which is lovely. Central village green, ducks in the stream, playground and pub within a very short walk. Rosie was really informative before our visit and answered the questions I had as well as recommending things to do. The cottage is well provided for with essentials. Quiet and tranquil - ideal for a holiday.

The 'Plume of Feathers' pub, with an excellent range of beers is just 100 metres away and Paul (landlord) also sells bread, milk, eggs, newspapers etc Guests enjoy the handy location of the pub !
  • Lovely cottage. Very clean, lots of hot water and a comfortable bed. Only stayed for one night but did the job nicely. Local pub is so near and so good. Slightly further inland than we expected but still within acceptable distance. Garden is a work in progress and when the sleepers are secured should be good & safe. Cleaning cost did seem very high.

    Mark2017-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • The house is new build and sparsely furnished. It lacks personality but is meticulously clean, perfectly comfortable and, in contrast to main pretty cottages, the plumbing works well and the stairs are safe. Similarly, whilst the village green (which is very pretty indeed) is only a 100 yards away, if that, the property is in a new development tucked behind a (mediocre) pub. Communication was easy and Rachel very helpful in advance. I have to say, though, that many of the extra touches that have given pleasure in other venues were missing: other than a pint of milk, tea and coffee, there were no other basics in the kitchen (no oil or cling film for instance); no flowers or home-made cake awaiting us on arrival; a small collection of brochures and guidebooks was not accompanied by any notes of personal recommendations. Given the price, having no towels provided felt ungenerous. The North Norfolk coast is stunningly, stunningly beautiful and as a base to explore it this property worked well.

    Matthew2017-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely spacious cottage. Very sunny aspect and all amenities you would want. Check in and out was easy and Rachel was really helpful - I'm an Airbnb novice so had lots of questions. I would definitely recommend Wayfarers Cottage and the location is superb.

  • A lovely cottage, very comfortable and well kitted out, we wanted for nothing and got great rest in the wonderfully comfortable beds. Warm, spacious and convenient place, it's an easy and pleasant drive to the coast. A lovely pre-Christmas getaway for us.

There is a large gravelled driveway with parking for several cars (at least four) and space to park a boat if you so desire. The five-bar gate, once closed, ensures that the front garden is fully enclosed for four legged guests. Whilst the poolside garden is fenced and gated to ensure younger guests and dogs can only access whilst supervised. The poolside garden is not fully enclosed, the lawn slopes down to the creake which runs along the bottom of the garden (great for Pooh Sticks but not great for unsupervised pets or small children). The 10m x 5M heated swimming pool is accessed by steps in one corner, its all one depth (around 4ft) and is available to use from May half term through to the middle of September (unless the weather is being very unfair). There is a variety of reclining chairs and outdoor giant bean bags to chill out on. At the end of the pool is the outdoor kitchen and dining area. This is a great space to enjoy the garden, there is a wood fired pizza oven, built-in gas BBQ, brazier to provide some heat later on, fridge, large polished concrete bar with cupboards beneath and power sockets to plug in your music. There are bar stools around the bar and a round rattan dining table with glass top and six chairs, all undercover with with colour changing LED lighting. There is also a rattan sofa and two chairs with coffee table looking out over the pool. In this garden there are two swings for our younger guests to enjoy. Please note that use of any of the outdoor facilities at Swan Cottage is entirely at guest's own risk. South Creake is a charming Village and Swan Cottage is located on the outer edge of the village, on the way to North Creake. The River Burn runs through the village (and passed the bottom of the garden at Swan Cottage) and there is a great playing field with a playground and football field, lots od ducks and tennis courts. The village pub is The Plume of Feathers which serves food and sells some basic provisions. There is also the Creake Crab Shack and a fantastic veg stand, selling great local produce. In North Creake (about one mile away) is the Jolly Farmers, a lovely traditional pub serving great home cooked food and also Creake Abbey which has interesting array of artisan shops and a fantastic food hall and cafe - an absolute must if you are staying at Swan Cottage. The Duck at Stanhoe is about 10 mins away, it is superb and very popular, so definitely book (it does serve Sunday lunch all day though, which is worth knowing). The cottage is about five minutes drive to Burnham Market with its array of shops, a great butcher and the famous Hoste Arms. To get to the coast takes only 10mins either to Brancaster or Wells-Next-The-Sea and it's about the same to distance to Fakenham for the supermarkets (Tesco, Morrisons, Lidl & Aldi).
  • Swan Cottage is a lovely place to stay. It is a lovely property with a wonderful outside dining area (including pizza oven and bbq). The property is very comfortable and a great space for a large party. We had problems with no hot water in the downstairs shower, but there’s a further two bathrooms upstairs to utilise which we did. You also have use of two dining areas, two living rooms and plenty of parking space. It really is a wonderful property and an ideal escape for a relaxing break.

  • We stayed in Lorna and David’s lovely shepherds hut for 3 nights. We had such a relaxing time in the lovely quiet surroundings. The hut was immaculate, furnished beautifully and we loved using the hot tub each night. The log burner and heater also made the hut really cosy, despite being there at the end of October. However, what really makes this an outstanding place to stay is all of the extra touches. The welcome hamper containing everything from fresh eggs, milk, bread, jam and cereal to chocolate, cake, cookies and crisps was fantastic and way more than expected. We will definitely return if we’re ever in the area.

    Kate2017-11-01T00:00:00Z
  • We spent an excellent couple of nights at the Shepherd's hut from the 28th - 30th Dec. The communication and welcome from Lorna and David was very good and friendly. The hut itself is bigger than the pictures do it justice and was very comfortable and warm despite the freezing temperatures outside (brilliant log burner!). The hut is finished off to a very high standard and has a luxurious feel. The addition of a welcome hamper was very generous and we enjoyed the fresh eggs, chocs and the other essential produce that was included (it certainly took care of our breakfasts). We ate out both nights at local pubs (these were a bit hit and miss - depending on what you are after) but can strongly recommend the food at the Hourglass only a couple of miles away. Overall a great place to stay and ideally situated if you wish to explore different parts of the North Norfolk Coast. Brancaster is less than 20mins away and places like Cley & Blakeney around 30mins. We would very much like to come back in the Summer.

  • 5* accommodation - everything we expected, needed and more! Hot tub was fantastic and great location to explore North Norfolk.

    Rebecca2017-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Absolute gem of a place. The hut was beautifully done out, and the lovely welcome basket with goodies for us and the dog was a fantastic touch. Close to many great beaches and things to see and do and when checking in David gave us some great recommendations - especially for dog friendly places. The hot tub was an added bonus! Thank you Lorna and David for a wonderful weekend - we hope to visit again.

    Jenny2018-01-14T00:00:00Z
  • This little hut is fantastic! Everything from the welcome hamper to the luxurious bedding. We couldn't have asked for more! Very much looking forward to staying again soon.

  • I was made to feel very welcome and would not hesitate to rebook or to recommend to friends. In my opinion there is nothing that could have been improved upon and I had an extremely enjoyable stay indeed. I didn't originally plan to stay alone but in the end I did and I felt safe and happy to be there alone. it was impeccably clean.

Mallows is an iconic pink Victorian cottage, formerly part of the Holkham Estate. It is cosy and welcoming, full of vintage fabrics and homely touches. Driftwood floor and woodburner in the sitting room, well equipped kitchen, downstairs loo and upstairs bathroom. There is a huge enclosed garden, perfect for dogs and children, with a terrace, gazebo and BBQ, plus a sun-trap terrace to the front. 3 miles from Wells and the coast and 1 mile from Walsingham. Pets welcome at a small extra charge.
'Mallows' is ideally situated for easy access to all the North Norfolk coast's best beaches but also offers the space, peace and quiet that you will not find in the coastal villages in the peak season! There is off-road parking for up to 3 cars. There is a large TV, DVD player and free wifi. The kitchen has a dishwasher and microwave. The washing machine is in the utility room. The large rear garden and gravelled parking area are totally enclosed with gates and fencing, meaning total peace of mind for children and dogs. The cottage has central heating, a wood burning stove and a couple of electric room heaters. There is a travel cot (no bedding) and high chair. Sunsets from the terrace in the back garden can be breathtaking; the gazebo offers shade for those who prefer to get out of the sun while the fenced lawn area is perfect for children and dogs to run around. Sun-lovers will enjoy the sheltered front garden with a picnic table. Bring your bikes! There is a myriad of small, quiet back lanes to explore (see map on the sitting room wall). Or you can ride down to Walsingham and take the mini steam train to Wells, great fun for all ages. Bring your binoculars! Egmere teems with wildlife and I often spot twitchers in gateways, looking out for kites and buzzards. Mallows has house martins - look out for their nests under the gutters - as well as pied wagtails who nest in the shed roof. Bring your dogs! You can walk around the field margins straight from the cottage - but please remember that this is shooting country, so your dog will need to be under close control or on a lead. For total freedom for your pets, head for one of the many local beaches.
3 miles from Wells, 4 miles from Holkham, 6 miles from Burnham Overy Staithe, 5 miles from Stiffkey - these are four of the very best beaches in Norfolk. If you feel like staying inland, Walsingham is just over one mile away and is unique. Bizarrely, Little Walsingham is bigger than Great Walsingham...the former is home to the steam railway link to Wells (well worth doing) as well as the famous shrine with its holy well. It remains a huge pilgrimage centre. The Black Lion pub is a great pit stop, as is the Farm Shop or Norfolk Riddler's fish and chips. Great Walsingham Barns have a really good art gallery and cafe famous for its pies - highly recommended! The recently-reopened Carpenters' Arms in Wighton is also really good. In the other direction, you can follow Egmere Wells lane all the way through to the Burnham Road; at the junction, turn right for Creake Abbey (super cafe and the best farmers' markets in Norfolk, first Saturday of the month, look out for their other events) and on to Burnham Market - very pretty and worth a look round. Especially the hat shop, over the gift shop on the green. Fakenham (6 miles) has a choice of supermarkets and there is a good Coop in Wells. Nearest petrol stations are Fakenham or Burnham Market.
  • Beautiful cottage with super safe garden. Ideally situated for coast and other places to visit. Kitchen well equipped if you wish to eat in or lots of lovely places to eat out.

  • Kate was fantastic, great communication and lovely touches such as milk in the fridge and cakes for our arrival. Gorgeous property which has a fantastic garden, our 2 labs loved it! Great location with so much to do in and around the area, Kate has an abundance of information in the cottage of all the things to do and see! We only had a short stay but will definitely return as there is loads we still want to do! I can't recommend Kate and her property highly enough!

    Geraldine2017-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • Kate's cottage is a real 'home from home'. I've rarely come across such a well equipped kitchen during any of our holiday stays. If you like to self cater, you'll be fine! The cottage is in the perfect location to explore North Norfolk and is particularly handy for Wells, Holkham and Walsingham. The woodburner was a god send as we chose a particularly cold weekend to visit. And the cosy kingsize bed deserves special mention; great to snuggle down in for a good night's sleep. The garden/ garden furniture would be great during warmer months. If you are into good ale, there is a wonderful Real Ale Shop a couple of miles up the road towards Wells which has a great variety of Ales and Porters to try. The Walsingham Farm shop also stocks a delectable variety of food supplies. We would heartily recommend Kate's cottage

  • This is a beautiful cottage in a stunning location. It has a really homely feel, well equipped with great walks straight out the door. Kate was a very thoughtful host who provided us with fresh fruit from her own garden as well as chocolates on arrival. Highly recommended.

  • Lovely character-full house in a fairly remote location. A few minutes drive away from Little Walsingham, which is well worth a visit if only for the superb farm shop!

    Martin2017-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • Kate's place is nicely decorated and well kept. We were there for a couple of cold, wet December days, but the garden looked really nice for a summer stay. Kitchen facilities excellent, and the main bed was huge and very comfortable. We would recommend the farm shop in Walsingham, about a 40 minute walk at most.

  • A lovely cottage in Egmere. The house was cosy and had everything you could need. Burnham Thorpe is a small village on the River Burn just a couple of miles from Burnham Market. Most famous for being the birthplace of Horatio Nelson, one of England's greatest heroes. Nelson's father Edmund Nelson was rector of the parish church. There is a flag from The Victory here. The house where Nelson was born was demolished shortly after his birth though the beautiful rectory that replaced it is still there. The village pub was built in 1637 and called The Plough, it was renamed The Lord Nelson in 1798 after Nelson's victory at The Battle of the Nile. The pub still survives today with its tiny bar and low ceilings. You can enjoy a drop of Nelson's Blood here!

Brian was extremely accommodating and attentive from start to finish, plus his breakfast making skills were second to none :) A lovely stay - if we need to stay in Norfolk again The Old Wash House will be first on our list!

  • Acorn cottage makes a great base for a coast holiday. The cottage is lovely, and great care has been taken in its renovation and interior design. The living space is very big for a 2 bedroom cottage, and offers a great place to stay on days when the weather is not ideal.

  • We struck gold with this place as a last minute booking! A beautiful house for a relaxing break. Clean and really well presented with real attention to detail. The photos really don't do it justice! Loved our time here and particularly loved being so well located for the nearby coastline-just 15/20 minutes away. We've always enjoyed the beach at Wells-next-the-Sea, which is within easy reach of Acorn Cottage. We'd definitely love to stay again some day, and would highly recommend it. Thanks for having us Karen!

  • Just returned from a fantastic weekend Staying in Karens 'Acorn' Cottage. Wow! Stunning, amazing attention to detail, welcoming and beautifully clean, a real home from home and we didn't want to leave! The photos really do not do this wonderful Cottage justice. The perfect stay for visiting surrounding Norfolk and especially if like us you are attending an event at the near by Manor Mews. We attended a wedding there and we definitely made the right choice in our accomadation. The 'welcome' pack was very gratefully received and a bonus that we were able to bring our well behaved dog Frankie. We will definately recommend and hopefully return very soon. Thank you so much, Donna & Steve Atherton

The cottage is well equipped and had everything we needed including a wood burning stove which made the evenings very cosy. There are plenty of interesting places to visit both on the coast and inland, we recommend visiting Burnham Market and Holkham Beach and the Crown pub does great burgers.

  • Aty & Jules place was absolutely perfect for our little family. Their home is just gorgeous and set on a wonderful quiet property. They had wonderful communication and were really kind, wonderful people! We had a delicious breakfast prepared for us each morning before we set out for the day, as well as they were really helpful with recommendations for things to do, places to go and places to eat that were family friendly. I would 100% stay here again if we traveled back to the Norfolk Coast!

Completely renovated and refurbished in 2015, this bright, comfortable and spacious house offers a wonderful base for exploring the North Norfolk coast line and surrounding market towns.
The Old Bakery was completely renovated and refurbished in 2015. It is a bright and comfortable base from which to enjoy a North Norfolk holiday. Upstairs can accommodate six people in three bedrooms (one king, and two sets of twin beds). Also upstairs there are two bathrooms - one full bathroom and one shower room with WC. Downstairs an additional two people can sleep on the sofa bed in the study. There are a range of books and board games, as well as a smart TV and DVD player. There is a large living room with two comfy sofas and a large dining table. The modern kitchen also provides a table and seating. The old bread oven is in the downstairs hallway. Off of this hallway is a third shower room and a separate utility area with a Belfast sink, washer/dryer, airer, iron and ironing board. A travel cot, booster seat and high chair are available for use. At the front of the house there is a private garden that has recently been landscaped with outside seating and a disposable BBQ. There is off-road parking for 2-3 cars.
Burnham Thorpe, birth place of Horatio Nelson, is a quiet and beautiful village close to the North Norfolk coast. Just a hop, skip and a jump to the Holkham Estate, Burnham Market, Burnham Overy Staithe, Wells, Brancaster, and a whole host of other top spots. Ideal for walking, bird watching, sailing and days at the beach. In the village you can also find Salt Glass Studios and a display about Nelson in the church. Across the road from the house's garden is the village playing field with an array of equipment to keep little ones entertained. The Lord Nelson pub across the playing field has been closed by Greene King for renovation work, we look forward to it being open again.
  • Lovely property in a beautiful setting. Wish we had had more time to explore. The lemon drizzle cake was an unexpected and delicious bonus. Would definately recommend it.

  • Wonderful gem of a place. A lot of thought and care has gone into renovating this place whilst keeping with the aesthetic of the traditional features of the bakery. We loved our stay. It's A quiet small village and wonderful. We enjoyed it so much we hope to go back. It's a short drive from the beaches and it's actually nice to be based in Burnham Thorpe as it gives you somewhere to disappear to and adventure from. Always being at the beach or nearby towns loses its novelty. I was surprised that the bookshelves had about 80 percent match rate with my own. Great selection of books. Great modern spec throughout this place. Lovely secluded garden and parking nearby. Lots of space. 6 bedrooms all nicely done up. Plenty of towels and warm duvets. Kitchen is spot on perfect. They have thought of everything. You cannot fault this place and if you do you are petty! Excelllent value for money. The neighbours we met were all lovely. There are also chickens, sheep and two donkeys nearby behind your garden. An excellent playground right next to for house for the kids to play in during the afternoons. This is great for if you are looking for a quiet place to relax. Don't steal the books, kitchen appliances or make lots of noise. Please treat this place with love so others can also enjoy it. It's a virtually silent village so don't throw any loud parties. It's good for family catch ups and cosying around the sofas and dining table. This place is clean and comfortable and nicely styled. You need a car to get about. Lots of things to do nearby and in fact Frances leaves you lots of info in the house and can send you information before hand. It's the type of place you don't want to write a review about because you don't want anyone else to find it! But you write the review none the less. And now for a separate paragraph for the lemon drizzle cake....just book this place for the cake. I finished it mostly by myself. I have no regrets. I would literally sell my husband to have more of this cake!

  • The Old Bakery was the perfect holiday house for our family of 4 adults and 2 kids ( ages ranging from 6 to 70!). The house was exactly as described: clean, tastefully decorated and very well equipped. Full of character . Good quality linens and towels and excellent bathrooms. The setting is sublime : we enjoyed the peace and quiet ... kids loved watching the bunnies next door and playing in the playground literally 5 steps across from the house. We were lucky enough to see nesting barn owls in the nearby church and barn. Beautiful. Great location for visiting key places on the North Norfolk coast. Frances communicated promptly and offered many helpful tips . Thank you for hosting us !

  • Frances has a wonderful house. It is in the Burnham's and has lots of wonderful surrounds from bird watching to great pubs/delis, beaches and Stately homes. The house is spotless and the quality of the interiors is first rate.

  • Great place to stay and having a wonderful pub/ restaurant next door was definitely a us side. Look forward to our next visit.

  • Love cottage to stay, very comfortable character accommodation attached to the pub. John and Amy were very friendly, checking in and out was easy. The cottage was ideal for our stay which was to be relatively close to Holkham Hall. Would definitely recommend staying here. The pub next door was nice, good service and food.

  • Has all the basics, could cook comfortably with utensils provided, stuff provided for breakfast was appreciated. Obviously it is an old cottage so there is a bit of damp smell in living area but bedding and towels were of good quality. Shower not too powerful but that wasn't an issue. Shampoo and conditioner were provided, which was nice but ladies need to bring their own hairdryer. Also microwave and washing machine are available. There is a farm shop 7 minutes away in Little Walsingham, and a big Tesco in Fakenham at almost the same distance. There is nothing walking distance from the cottage other than the lovely pub next door, so need to have a car. WiFi didn't work properly but seems it is a problem in the area, so not sure it is something that could be sorted. Parking in front of cottage may bring a bit of noise/lack of privacy occasionally but mornings and nights were quiet.

A fantastic extremely well-presented one bedroom barn conversion located in a quiet and secluded location just a short drive to the North Norfolk coast. The property has been finished to a high standard, with oak flooring, log burner. Open plan living impressive vaulted ceiling, outside there is an enclosed patio garden, and parking. There's also the Sculthorpe Moor Nature Reserve run by the Hawk and Owl Trust to reintroduce native birds to the area and to protect the natural environment.
  • Beautifully appointed and perfect for some down time. Great location for exploring the areas.

  • Beautiful accommodation, clean, tidy and quiet. Great place for dogs as walks were on the doorstep and close by to lots of interesting areas to visit.

  • The barn conversion has been done to a really high standard, we fell in love with the place the moment we walked in the door. It's in a great location, only a short drive to the coast so it made for a perfect base on our babymoon. We were greeted by a tray of treats including chocolates and prosecco which really added to making the stay feel special for us both. We'll definitely be coming back to stay again with our new addition.
