Brand New yurt. Hardwood floors, Flat Screen TV, Grill, Deck, Granite countertops, cool tile shower and the view of the Lake Logan Martin is wonderful. Close to many amenities in Talladega, Pell City, Birmingham, Aniston and Oxford, AL.
Whether you are looking to get away, coming to play or needing to work we have what you are looking for. Close to the Talladaga Race track, Barber Motorsports, Museum of Natural History, Shopping, Movie theaters and so much more.
  • Great place to stay! This was our first yurt experience, and it was better than the cabins we have been in (and better than the yurt we stayed in right after it!). Customer service was fantastic!

  • We had a great time at Mike's yurt. This our first time in a yurt and we thought it was pretty neat. It had room for us (3 adults) and was a cross between a cabin (more solid walls and a real bathroom) and a tent (you could hear nature outside). This is in a beautiful area with great views of the lake and other hill tops. Very quiet and serene and made for a beautiful place to have Thanksgiving. The bed in the loft was comfortable. It was very easy to work with Mike and he made sure we had everything we needed. They even brought more blankets out.

  • This is a great experience. If you are looking for a great secluded and comfortable getaway.. look no further. Enjoyed hanging out in the Yurt for the majority of the day. Everything was very clean. Easy walk down to the lake where there are other amenities. My only hiccup was the bed wasn't made when we got there. Since this was my first experience using airbnb I wasn't sure if that was the norm, but understand why it may have been left unmade. Overall, I highly suggest this property to anyone and everyone. I plan on making several trips to the area.

  • Great place

  • Second time we've been to this yurt and LOVE it!!! It's so relaxing and fun! We really enjoy kayaking in the lake! Unfortunately, we had a really rainy Saturday but got to get out in the water for most of the day before we got stormed out. We will definitely keep coming back.

    Andrea2017-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • It is a great Yurt. Unique experience right by the lake with a great view out back. A couple of warnings though: Bring your own toiletries (shampoo/soap etc.) because they are not provided. Also read the directions before coming if you are arriving in the dark. The community is impossible to see in the dark, and the only way to find it is to read the detailed instructions that the renter sends before renting.

    Matthew2017-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing stay at the hilltop yurt and are already planning a trip back. We had clear communication with our host Mike who was easily reached if we needed anything during our stay. (We didn't.) He even called prior to our arrival to confirm and helped us out with directions and getting around the area and then checked in after our arrive to make everything was okay with the space. (It was!) The yurt was equipped with everything we needed like linens, towels, and fully furnished kitchen, including a full-sized coffee maker. The "campsite" is very nice. It's actually an RV resort, but the yurt itself is extremely private as the RVs are situated farther up the hill and at the bottom of the hill by the water. Overall, we had a fantastic vacation, and staying here was definitely a highlight.

    Christina2015-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • The yurt was perfect for what we needed. A relaxing getaway to focus on work and get things accomplished without distractions.

Right off of convenient Rainbow Drive! Shops and restaurants of historic downtown within five miles of property! Coosa River with boat landing 3 miles away. Noccaloola Falls Park 8 miles north
Centrally located neighborhood is the primary perk to location as propert is secluded by fauna and a fence around half of property
  • Very nice, convenient place to stay. I liked the atmosphere of the house. Had few chats with John and played with his friendly dog. Will stay again!

  • John is very friendly and a great host! Very blessed to have found this!

    Alex2017-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • John has a nice setup that needs some tweaking. There’s an adjacent sitting room, a nice plus, which could benefit from better lighting. The kitchen hAd no coffeemaker. Although the bed was comfy and the room clean, we found the bathroom less clean. Still decent value for the money.

  • John was a pleasure to stay with. He gave us fantastic suggestions about where to eat locally. He was very easy to communicate with and made sure everything was to our liking while still giving us plenty of privacy.

A beautiful, unique double-decker bus conversion (school bus with Volkswagen on top) that comes right out of a bohemian dream! Nestled in the Appalachian foothills in rural northern Alabama.
Sleep in a super-comfy King size bed with plenty of natural light in the day and beautiful lights for evening, scale the ladder to a lofted reading nook, snuggle up on the leather pull-out couch or pull up a chair to simple vintage table. Heat and A/C available, multiple outlets to charge phones or computers. -Noccallula Falls (15 minutes away) -Horse Pens 40- bouldering (25 minutes away) -Cherokee Rock Village - rock climbing (40 minutes away) -Little River Canyon -kayaking, etc (45 minutes away) -Birmingham (1 hour away) -Chattanooga (1 1/2 hours away) -Atlanta (2 hours away)
Our 40 acres is tucked into a Northeastern Alabama "holler", so occasionally one can hear a train in the distance, dogs barking, and the sound of target practice. Generally speaking, we experience the peace and quiet of the country. Grocery shopping, convenience stores and restaurants are just minutes away.
  • It was a real pleasure staying here! The options for nontraditional accommodations are fairly slim in the south, so we felt pretty lucky to find a renovated bus so close to Horse Pens... but the real surprises came once we arrived. Shallyn and Joshua welcomed us wholeheartedly into their amazing home, a property which includes several beautiful alternative living spaces. The space itself was cozy and perfect, the peace and solitude of the surrounding forest rejuvenating. We can’t wait for our next visit to HP so we can stay in Birdsong again!

A variety of coffee was provided, as well as juice and breakfast snacks, the bed was so comfortable, the temperature was regulated by a digital thermostat that made the night very pleasant, the shower was amazing and beyond relaxing, and the towels were incredibly soft. Overall it was just a really nice experience. I highly recommend Ken’s house over any hotel!!

  • Eds place was perfect, it was close to the Chief Ladiga trail and the place is quiet and beautiful. Beds were comfy, which is very important. Our first bed and breakfast stay with perfect hosts. We will be back, had a great time in a great place!

    Robin2016-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • Ed and Loren (Rocket) are charming and made me feel right at home. Although the kitchen is mentioned as an amenity, it is not available to do your own cooking. Everything else in the description was spot on. Bed was very comfortable. I loved the area and they even have a veranda that is screened in where you can sit and observe the picturesque view they have worked so hard to create. Breakfast time is a treat , so scrumptious and inviting. They even went out of their way to provide breakfast when I was leaving at 5:30 in the morning. The whole experience was a treat.

    Richard2016-04-05T00:00:00Z
  • Ed and Rocket were very welcoming and warm, even for such a brief period of our stay. The food was fantastic!

  • Ed & Lorna were lovely hosts. Both are accomplished professionals and world travelers, so they had great stories to share. Lorna is an terrific chef and several meals included fresh fruits and veggies from their garden. I would highly recommend a stay at their ranch - there's space to roam, the flower gardens are beautiful, the porches are made for sitting and deer or bird watching. The house is well appointed and comfortable for any travel needs, they have really thought of everything to make their guests feel welcome.

4 bedroom cabin in a quiet, wooded area near Lake Weiss. Cherokee Rock Village is located on the top of Lookout Mountain within view of the cabin. Rock climbing and fabulous views of lake can be found at the rock village. There are 3 queen beds and 1 twin in the bedrooms. 2 full bathrooms. Full kitchen, washer and dryer. Rocking chair front porch, grilling porch on the back complete with grill and sink. No cable or wi-fi, TV has antenna that receives 19 channels.
  • This place is really wonderful, the hardest thing to get used to is the peace and quiet. It was so quiet the first night that we had to put on some music. Your close to Gadsden, Centre, and Leesburg, so you can find anything quickly or you can just enjoy the peace and quiet. We went to the Movies, rock climbing and to a firing range while we were there. We actually got to meet the owners, and they were such sweet people.

    Dale2017-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • This house is really lovely and squeaky clean. It's very nicely decorated and held our family of 6 easily and comfortably. It's about a half hour from Little River Canyon National Preserve which is a fun area to explore. If you're concerned (as I was a little) that the price seems really low, rest assured it has absolutely nothing to do with the house. It's mostly just the location being off a small road backing up to a forest with neighboring houses nearby. If this house were on the lake or on the side of a mountain, it would rent for $300+. That said, it was extremely quiet and peaceful. It's a great spot for a family gathering! Ellen was very communicative and arriving and leaving was super easy.

  • If your travels and meanderings lead you to Cherokee County, AL you simply won't find a better respite from the road. The cabin is the perfect balance of country comfort and modern efficiency. Everything about our stay was perfect, beginning with the fresh fruit that was on the table when we arrived.

  • Everything was exactly how the pictures are it was so clean we had the best weekend. I would recommend this cabin to anyone!

    Alexia2017-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • We loved everything about our stay at Ellen's cabin. Ellen was a great communicator and provided us detailed directions via email and when we got closer to the cabin. Ellen's cabin was beautiful and well-maintained, and she did not miss a spot when it came to decorations and detail. We did some light shopping, but appliances, utensils, etc. needed to prepare meals were provided. We felt like we were in our home away from home and could not have asked for a lovelier place to stay. We enjoyed sitting/swinging on the front porch. We also enjoyed Brownie's companionship. We did not use the TV at all and enjoyed spending time conversing in the living room. We loved the beautiful ceramic tile throughout the cabin, especially in the bathrooms. The cabin had central air, USB jacks, and numerous electrical outlets throughout. It also had a tank-less hot water system. We truly appreciated the impressive details of this cabin. The cabin was far enough away from traffic, but close enough to enjoy nearby waterways and attractions . We would definitely return to Ellen's cabin and highly recommend it to anyone traveling to the Leesburg area.

  • We had such a wonderful time with James. It was wonderful to be invited into his home. We were so, so comfortable. Our room was large with a beautiful view of the ponds and horse pastures. Nice linens, very comfortable bed. He was incredibly generous with his time and with his beautiful Paso Fino purebred horses. I was able to ride multiple times during our stay, which was a great joy to me. We were late arriving and he texted us some tips to find his place since (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) Maps often sends people to the wrong side of his property. Very considerate. He also gave us many dining, driving and entertainment tips for Anniston. We are already planning our next stay and so are our business associates in the area. This was an incredible experience for us. We even were invited to Sunday dinner at his mother's house. I plan to make time to go fishing in the ponds on our next trip!

  • James was a very nice host and the home is in a beautiful setting. The home is older and could use some sprucing up. But as we were his first guests, it was nice that James asked for suggestions to help improve the accommodations. He provided recommendations for restaurants, and even provided us with breakfast.

    Wendy2016-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • Enjoyed the peace and quiet of this secluded retreat. Very clean and comfortable. James is a great communicator. Would definitely stay again.

  • It is a beautiful home and having the animals was nice. Our hostess was thoughtful and eager to help us with any needs. There was lots of quiet time and we were able to use the kitchen to cook our meals which saved us quite a lot of extra money since there were 5 of us. They left us very clear and helpful instructions on paper in our rooms so we could remember what we needed and where things were. We really did enjoy our stay.

  • Everything about Lenn's place is excellent. She has the sweetest pets and sweetest demeanor. The guest bedroom was more than to my liking, and I felt very at home the whole time I was there. I highly recommend, and I will definitely contact Lenn first if I am ever in the area again.

  • This is an excellent place to stay! Pets are friendly. Neighborhood is quiet. Environment is nice. I even saw hummingbirds and fire flies!

  • Lenn is such a nice person and was really a pleasure to stay with.

    John2017-05-07T00:00:00Z
  • I was Lenn's very first Airbnb guest. Anytime an Airbnb"er" sees the listing as a "new home", it's a bit like rolling the dice. In this case, I rolled the dice, and came out a winner. Len is an amazing host. She's super friendly. I'd venture to say she will be labeled a "Super Host" in short order. She's extremely responsive to inbox messages thru Airbnb. Her home looks exactly like it does in the pictures. That was a relief. Future guests can feel comfortable knowing the following: the neighborhood is wonderfully quiet, the home is exactly where the Waze App or GPS takes you, the interior is very clean, the bathroom is private and stocked with incidentals, the bedroom has darkening curtains to ensure a restful nights sleep, the kitchen has coffee and toast available in the morning, there is a deck with seating to enjoy, the refrigerator/kitchen area has guest space available, and Lenn leave's the front porch light on for you. When in Anniston, Oxford, Birmingham there is no reason to stay at a hotel if Lenn's place is available. You will not be disappointed. In fact this is now my preferred home-away-from-home when working in Anniston.

  • This was my second time to stay at Lenn's and it was just as wonderful as the first! Very clean and comfy! Easy check in and she is always quick to respond to any questions. Great place!:)

  • Lenn was our favorite airbnb host on our cross country road trip! Her place was super clean, beautifully decorated, and she gave us a warm welcome into her home. She was very accommodating with our check in and check out times. And her neighborhood was quiet and peaceful. Would definitely recommend her place!

  • Cozy and quiet cabin in the woods, perfect for our family getaway. All the beds were very comfortable and Natalie made sure we had everything we needed. Plenty of space inside and out, kitchen was well stocked for us to cook a few meals, and many restaurants nearby in town when we wanted to go out. We loved the guide to activities nearby that Natalie left for us, we explored local parks and museums as well as the bison and llama farms!

This listing is close to Jacksonville State University, restaurants / dining, and family-friendly activities. You’ll love my place because of the neighborhood, the comfy bed, and the kitchen. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers. The bathroom is private for your stay. No invited guest are allowed during your stay for security reasons. • 1) Ken is very kind and welcoming. Even though he's not a coffee drinker, he made sure to have fresh grounds, creamer, sugar and honey for the morning, all laid out and ready to go. 2) The home is lovely, there's a nice back deck where I enjoyed my coffee on the patio table and took in some Alabama morning sunshine. 3) The room has all you could need. On top of all the amenities, I slept incredibly well on a very comfortable bed and woke up feeling refreshed for the first time in a while. 4) Even though Ken had to wake up early the next morning, he stayed up and chatted with me for a while and repeatedly inquired if I needed anything at all. Fantastic host. 5) Ken has a piano - I was able to warm up for my afternoon audition that morning so that was a huge added bonus. Just as they say on Ebay, "A++++, would do business with again!"

  • Ken's place was clean, comfortable and friendly, with great location and great host. Highest recommendation for Ken's place!

  • Our flight landed late afternoon in a city 100 miles from the host's location. The directions he gave were excellent and we kept in touch as we traveled from the airport. Ken came home to greet us and show us the house. He was not at home a lot because of his commitments at the university but was always friendly when he was. We had many interesting conversations about work, travel and music. The room was very nice and comfortable and enjoyed making friends with his cat Chloe.

This is a 5 bedroom 3.5 bathroom house. I have two long-term renters and a dog. Everyone is laid back and we all get along well! You are welcome to hang out with us or keep to yourselves, whichever you prefer. There is space in the fridge if you want to keep groceries in as well. If you need anything, just ask one of us!
The house is in a convenient location, yet surrounded by nature. It's a quiet, peaceful area, with only one other house down the road.
  • Everything was great! Lauren was very accommodating with our travel schedule and made it easy to get in and out at our convenience, even with four bikes in tow. The room was clean, bed comfortable, dogs playful, and goats adorable.

    Carolyn2015-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • Such a great place. Thank you, Lauren, for making us feel so welcome. Even though we didn't spend much time at the house, we did enjoy the time we were there. A very, very relaxing place to be!

    Joy2016-05-02T00:00:00Z
  • I had a wedding to attend nearby in Anniston and I chanced Airbnb to see if there were any listings. I was pleasantly surprised to find Lauren's home. Lauren was great host and provided us with everything we required for the weekend. Even when she seemed to be at capacity prior to booking, she was very accomodating and made room for my friend and I in a smaller room. The location is difficult to find by GPS, but Lauren was able to direct us there before we even knew that there would be issues. The house itself is beautiful and both the surrounding ambiance and animals neighboring the property give this location charming characteristics. I would highly recommend this AirBNB. It is a great alternative to the hotel-city down the road and one of my favorite things about AirBNB is getting to meet the locals. Thanks a lot Lauren!

    Kyle2014-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay! There was an awesome common area for use, and a beautiful yard, but I'm kind of a hermit so I pretty much stayed in my room when I wasn't working. That worked out too, I had privacy and my own window unit for comfort. The location has the best of both worlds, it's in a private wooded area but it's still right there in town. Highly recommended!

    Joe2017-05-08T00:00:00Z
  • Went to Coldwater for a mountain bike festival and stayed at Lauren's place. Amazing and beautiful house well stocked with amenities. Well insulated too for an old house with night time temps dipping into the low 30s at night. Check in was easy, location was nice especially if you liked some peace and quiet. Will make this a goto stop next time I'm biking in Anniston.

Relax and unwind at Huckleberry House, a mountain retreat just minutes from Cheaha State Park, Coldwater Mountain Bike Trails, and the brand new Choccolocco Sports Park. Barbecue in the outdoor kitchen, watch the sunset from the hot tub on the upper deck, or read a good book surrounded by 360 views of nature and a scenic overlook of the city.
My home sits amidst thirty acres of mountain forest and is situated atop the peak of a ridge overlooking the city of Oxford. The property joins the Mountain Longleaf Wildlife Preserve, a 9,000 acre refuge in the Southern Appalachian Mountain Range. You don't have to leave the property to enjoy a beautiful hike, encountering huge longleaf pines, deer, turkey, and other wildlife. The focus is on relaxation in nature. Windows and porches put breathtaking views at your fingertips day and night. Watch the sunset from the hot tub, see the city lights twinkle on, and enjoy a movie under the stars. The house is equipped with Directv, Wi-Fi and fully integrated surround sound, putting music and movies at your fingertips even in the outdoor spaces. Fire up the hibachi grill while watching a football game on the patio tv!
Although surrounded by natural beauty, the entrance to the property is directly in the heart of Golden Springs, a lovely neighborhood between Anniston and Oxford. A five minute drive in any direction takes you to three different grocery stores, the Oxford Exchange Outdoor Mall, Tyson's Fine Wines, Golden Springs Community Center (where you'll find tennis courts, a marked 5K and 10K running route, walking track, gym, and group exercise classes), three pharmacies, and the Choccolocco Sports Complex. Enjoy day trips to Cheaha State Park, Coldwater Mountain Bike Trails, the southern portion of the North Alabama Wine Trail, and the Chief Ladiga Rails to Trails Track. Have a beer at the Cheaha Brewing Company, take in a performance at the Oxford and Anniston Performing Arts Centers, visit one of the local farmer's markets for fresh produce, or have a stroll around historic downtown Oxford for some antiquing and boutique shopping.
  • The house itself is lovely on the outside and very cozy on the inside. The property was quite and secluded which is just what we were looking for. The guest floor was very well maintained, and Josh and Alyssa were welcoming and informative.

  • Another great stay with Josh and Alyssa. This is a super nice, clean, scenic place to stay. Alyssa and Josh are great hosts. You will enjoy your stay here!

    Scott2017-11-01T00:00:00Z
  • Alyssa and Josh’s home is more beautiful than the pictures can portray. We were only able to spend two nights there but would gladly have stayed longer. As we were visiting just before Thanksgiving, the fall colors were vibrant and breathtaking. Our two-year-old grandson visited with us for a few hours while we were there and loved exploring outside in the trees and “rock park” (his words). Alyssa’s attention to the tiniest of details was quickly obvious: toiletries one might have forgotten, extra blankets and throws easily accessible, a fan for those who might need white noise, and pamphlets and magazines about local attractions. We were pleasantly surprised to enjoy ourselves so much and will definitely be staying again!

    Monja2017-11-21T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay here was amazing. Very clean and tidy, a perfect house. Alyssa and Josh were really nice and respectful of our privacy. Little sad that we only booked for one night. Highly recommend!

  • This is truly a beautiful location and Unique home! Alyssa is very friendly and the bed was comfy. The space was private and quiet. Evan the cats checked on us occasionally but were very well behaved. Definitely recommend it!

  • Alyssa's home on the mountain top is beautiful. Hot tub was warm and ready to get use. Fresh flowers were a wonderful touch.

This is one of our country's historic homes which can be found in the Library of Congress. The land was purchased by Dr. John Nisbet from Chief Ladiga and the home was built in 1838. Step back in time and enjoy a glass of sweet tea in Dixie!
Chief Ladiga room is a spacious room with King size bed, t.v. with Netflix, and of course towels and freshly ironed linens on the bed! !The bathroom is just off the central hall upstairs and will have shampoo, shower gel etc... if you forgot your hair dryer, toothbrush? Not a problem, we have extras! You are staying just 3 blocks from the town square and are less than a mile from the Ladiga Trail which is a rails to trails bike/walking trail that connects to the Silver Comet Trail in GA.
  • My husband and I had a wonderful time at House on the Hill. Our room was so comfortable and cozy. We loved everything about it. It was Valentine's Day wknd and Jill had gifts and treats to welcome us. Jill is an excellent chief and her desire to please shows in every aspect from her home to her hospitality. It was an awesome wknd! Can't wait to Come back.

  • Lovely neighborhood, walking distance to restaurants and shops. Hostess was charming, house and grounds beautiful. Very convenient access to Chief Ladiga trail, which was a great ride.

    david2016-05-24T00:00:00Z
  • Jill was nothing short of amazing. She made us feel like family, gave us space when needed and a blast to have coffee with in the morning. Extremely generous in sharing her home with us. The property was impressive online, but even better to see in person. Jill's decorating style made our stay feel warm and comfortable. There was no skimping in bed comfort, everything we needed and two AMAZING breakfasts. We were visiting our son at JSU and she even made breakfasts for him to join us each morning. This property is a gem, you won't be disappointed.

    Dean2015-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • Jill is an incredible host. She took care of us before we even set foot into her lovely home. The accommodations are more than comfortable. Jill's breakfast is not your typical eggs and bacon, it's more sophisticated than your typical fare. My fiancé and I loved staying with her and actually extended our stay with her after enjoying her company and her home so much. Thanks Jill for being such a gracious host

    Darius2016-06-07T00:00:00Z
  • House on the Hill Review Before we even got there, Jill made us feel welcome and even excited for our arrival. I had planned a "secret" weekend for our anniversary and Jill jumped in to help. She accepted flowers I had delivered prior to our arrival and even trimmed them and placed the vase before leaving them in our room. She even added a special treat for us once she found out about my plans. We pulled up at this quaint home and she immediately came out to greet us, totally baffling, but exciting my wife who was completely ignorant of why we just pulled up and walked into some lady's house. Once my wife realized we were in a bed and breakfast she was totally blown away with it all. If she were a "squealer" she definitely would have squealed with delight as we toured Jill's beautiful home where we'd spend the evening. Upstairs, in addition to our special anniversary gift accompanying the flowers, this wonderful host had left another personalized surprise outside our room, truly making every effort for this to be fabulous experience. I had asked for a recommendation for dinner and so Jill provided a few choices, but highly recommended a particular restaurant within walking distance. We took her advice and had one of the best meals we've ever had (rivaled only by Jill's breakfast the next morning). After our evening's activities, we retired to our room for a great night's sleep; no skimping on the choice of mattresses for the room! The next morning before breakfast, we enjoyed the ambiance of the home with coffee and juice on the balcony by the room. It was a very pleasant way to lead into what pretty much be described as breakfast excellence. Jill prepared an excellent meal, including a Greek yogurt dish that was to die for. I don't even like Greek yogurt, but to quote those much hipper than me (maybe.....) It was da bomb! Overall this was by far the best "lodging" experience we've had in a long time, possibly ever (sorry Jill, we spent a week in Hawaii, which was probably slightly better. But to be fair, Jacksonville, AL has a hard time competing with a Pacific island, you've definitely done an outstanding job with your home).

    Ben2016-05-04T00:00:00Z
  • Jill was the perfect host. Everything was provided and house was in the perfect location. Can't wait to come stay there again.

    Steve2016-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great value! Cloud-like beds, beautiful home filled with antiques, and a wonderful host. The best part is a gourmet breakfast that will leave you feeling extra special! Close to downtown and JSU. Wonderful stay and host!

    Beth2017-05-13T00:00:00Z
  • I found The House on the Hill to be an ideal place to stay, and I expect it would be ideal for anyone visiting the area. I visited for business, a research trip. This B&B is centrally located. The Jacksonville town square is an easy walk of about two blocks or less, where there are boutiques and a wonderful coffee shop (which serves food and has WiFi). The House on the Hill has excellent WiFi and other amenities any business or other traveler might need. There is a stocked coffee and tea center outside the rooms. I made coffee early in the morning before breakfast, and tea in the late evening. Breakfast by the hostess, Jill, was out of this world. I still think about it, and honestly don’t know when I will ever again enjoy such exquisite delights. I stayed in the Chief Ladiga room which is spacious, comfortable, well-lit, and finely appointed -- as is the whole house. In the Chief Ladiga room there is a desk at which I worked quite a lot; a sizable desk, with a leather chair. All the photos here of the rooms and house are accurate. I will certainly choose to stay at House on the Hill again in the future.

Step back in time to a visit to your great-grandma's house. This is a cozy house built in the 1940s and currently being remodeled to bring back the old charm. The house is adjacent to the Chief Ladiga Bike Trail and Eubanks Welcome Center, Piedmont, AL. This property is also only 12 miles from Jacksonville State University and only 50 miles from Talledega Superspeedway.
Ground level entry at front of the house allows easy access. Meal plans are available upon requests. The house is within walking/biking distance of grocery store, post office, cafe', antique stores.
This is a quiet neighborhood of large old homes and smaller mill village homes.
  • A fine old house for cyclists on one of the finest stretches of Rail Trail in USA. Chief Ladiga / Silver Comet combo is shadiest, quietest, smoothest trail of great length around! This house makes a great turn around point. Friendly Hosts.

  • This the perfect spot to to ride Chief Ladiga Trail. Its a great location if you are planning riding Road bikes in the Area. A great place to train or race the Foothills Classic Cycling Race. They have a nice fire pit in the backyard, washer/dryer, full kitchen and its nicely decorated.

    Clarke2017-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • Mischa is the consummate hostess. She is engaging and with notice is willing to accommodate travelers' special needs, whether they be for a child's porta crib or a dinner of bison stew from bison she and her husband D.J. raise themselves. The beds are very comfortable and much of the house, including the counter tops, seems to be original to the 1942 house built for D.J.'s grandmother. For cyclers the location could not be better. The back yard, full of blue birds, opens onto the Chief Ladiga trail. Turn right and you are 13 miles from the GA border and the continuation of the trail for 62 miles as the Silver Comet trail. Turn left and the ride is 20 miles to Anniston, AL, for over 90 miles of continuous bike trail through some very verdant terrain.

    Anne2017-09-18T00:00:00Z

Private bath with this bedroom which has a Queen Bed along with a Double Bed. Room can accommodate 3 people. Bath has a walk-in shower, and a claw foot bathtub and shower.
The Yellow room has been completely renovated and has a private bath, with claw foot tub and walk-in shower. The room has two beds--both a queen and full size, very large closet, guest robes.
We are close to Jacksonville and the university (3 Miles) but we are very much in the country. There are farms around us and we have 14 acres of woods and pastures.
  • My brother and I stayed 3 nights in the Yellow Room. Ed and Lorna were very welcoming. They were gracious hosts. Breakfasts each morning were tasty and filling. The house is in a beautiful country setting, with gardens, birdfeeders and no road sounds. We loved relaxing on the side porch. The house is a short ride from the Chief Ladiga bike trail which connects with the Silver Comet trail in Georgia. We loved biking thru the beautiful and remote countryside, as well as thru the small country downtowns. We discovered great places to eat. We would definitely return to stay with Ed and Lorna again - and next time bring our friends.

  • How do you describe finding a little bit of heaven on earth? From the moment we arrived until our departure five days later, we could not have asked for a better experience. This was our first ever stay at a BnB. If Summer Dreams is an example of a typical BnB, I can't imagine staying in a commercial hotel/motel ever again if a BnB is available. If your travel ever takes you within a 50 mile radius of Jacksonville, Alabama, I highly recommend you take advantage of staying in a beautiful home with two wonderful people as your hosts. Oh, and don't forget to ask Ed to let you feed apple slices to the donkeys and horses while you're there!!

  • This place was a dream! Ed and Rocket are the most caring, loving, and inviting hosts I have ever encountered. The house and property is absolutely beautiful. I woke up to birds chirping, fresh coffee, and enjoyed a three course breakfast cooked by Rocket fresh that morning. The room had fresh linens, towels, and a walk in closet. I gave them 5 stars across the board! Ed and Rocket really went out of their way to make my stay something special. They care about every detail of your experience and make you feel like part of the family. If you are ever traveling through Jacksonville, make it a point to stay with Ed and Rocket at Summer Dreams BnB. P.s. They have two beautiful horses!!

  • My husband and I were pleased to find this hidden quaint, cozy cottage to stay in during our Florida evacuation of Hurricane Matthew. We were short on time, because had to evacuate our area, and Eva responded promptly via message to my questions. The top highlights of this place are: accepts pets( huge plus for us) with minimal charge, very serene scenery and country area, close to Cheaha State Park, hiking, perfect size cottage for two people cats, full kitchen, and nice outdoors and nature. The only con is that since the place is near the woods, you are likely to have some bugs in the cottage. Thanks for the welcome and nice stay!

    Becky2016-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • Eva's cozy cottage was perfect! It was far enough out but also close enough that town was within a 15 minute drive. The treats that she provided upon arrival were completely unexpected and very much appreciated. I stayed for four night and couldn't have been happier. Eva provided every essential you could think of as well as those "in case you forgot yours" items. If I'm in the area again, I will most definitely try to stay here. This was a wonderful first airbnb. Thanks, Eva!

  • The cottage was perfect for my stay. I travel for work and it was a great place to relax. I also traveled with two small dogs they loved the outside areas. Eva was the perfect host and I will definitely book the cottage when traveling to Anniston.

Beautiful home on the waterfront of Lake Weiss. House is located at the end of a Cul De Sac with nearly an acre of land. Gorgeous views from the house and dock- - just minutes to the waterfall on Yellow River Canyon.
  • This was our move on son to college/mini-vacation hub. Close enough to Jacksonville State to help him move in, far enough away that he didn't feel like we were just hanging around hovering over him. Quiet and secluded and perfect for a few days of relaxing, reading, cool off in the lake, sit on the porch and just breathe. Everything was clean, well stocked, well organized. House was way too big for just the 2 of us but it was the location that made our decision. It was exactly what we were looking for. We found eclipse glasses and watched the eclipse from the dock. Centre AL was a 15 min drive for groceries at Ingles; Gadsden AL about 30 min drive for fried cat fish and hush puppies at Top Of The River. We enjoyed a day at the Little River Canyon National Preserve. We weren't "looking" for things to do but enjoyed what we found. Lisa was very accessible by text and email and was a great host. We plan to be back next summer for a longer stay! Highly recommend this house!

  • This is a great place for a lake trip - Lake Weiss has a lot to offer and there is a boat/jetski rental place right across the waterway from the house. The house is well kept and has pretty much everything you need. We will certainly try to get back here again soon!
