Food and restaurants in Squirrel Hill North, Pittsburgh

Top restaurants

Restaurant
“Pamela's is a Pittsburgh staple - there are six around the city! Pamela's is famous for their hotcakes (thin and crispy!) and lyonnaise potatoes. While the Shadyside diner is pretty small (head ten minutes by car to Squirrel Hill for more seating), you can always count on a fantastic and affordable diner breakfast no matter which location you go to. Keep in mind that it's cash only!”

“For date night or celebrating a special occasion, Girasole is a definite hit. Incredible Italian food in a little below-street place and the best tiramisu in Pittsburgh. The owner is usually sitting at the front table drinking wine and welcoming guests. ”

“My favorites here are the fresh roasted coffee beans and mochas, but most of their drinks are quite good. This is a great place to sit down at as it has a fireplace in the winter and an open garage door wall of windows in the summer.”

“It was named the best cake in America for a reason. A dense, fluffy cake sandwiched with layers of luscious pastry cream, enveloped in a thick buttercream hug and liberally doused in candied toasted almonds. If it’s someone’s birthday in Pittsburgh, you best believe their cake is this one.”
