They have numerous exhibits and activities for children, including a fun event of toy boatbuilding! They host family events, concerts, and cruises on a wooden work boat or a sailing skipjack. “A great place to visit! The Navy’s aircraft and flight systems have been tested and evaluated at the Patuxent River Naval Air Station since WWII. There is a Museum, outdoor Aircraft Park and Gift Shop which has a large collection of aviation-themed merchandise if you're looking to pickup gifts to take home. You can see and learn about aviation research, by viewing crew system artifacts, ejection seats, radars, and test instrumentation. In the outdoor aircraft park you can see and touch naval aircraft tested at Pax River. Call or visit the website for seasonal hours of operation. ”

“Most days the Museum is quiet. The Lighthouse was moved to this point for viewing. It is a Screw Pile lighthouse and very rare. After viewing the museum you can find lots of food, drink, and fun as you drive Left on Solomon's Island Road. Take another Left on Charles Street and make your way around the tip of the Island for a great view of the mouth of the Patuxent River and the Chesapeake Bay.”
