“Castello di Amorosa is considered an architectural masterpiece with all the elements of an authentic medieval castle: a moat, drawbridge, five towers, high defensive ramparts, courtyards and loggias, a chapel, stables, an armory, and even a torture chamber. 107 rooms in total, no rooms alike.”

“I absolutely love this place in winter. My preferred access point is 3000 Los Alamos Road. Such a beautiful to place to visit just after a heavy rain. If you walk down the trail at the first opportunity instead of staying on the main trail, you'll head to a beautiful major creek. A word of warning, the road here is narrow and winding. The views are phenomenal. At one point it's literally one car wide with no guard rail and a sheer drop off. If you encounter another vehicle coming the other direction, it can be a little terrifying, especially if you both have large vehicles and the other driver is a bonehead and it's raining hard. (Yep, that's the voice of experience.) But, oh, the beauty!”

“I came and went straight to the outside wine bar to get some wine and pizza from Salumeria. They bake the pizza in a wood fired oven and it is perfecto! Lots of families in the outside area and the children were very happy to be there! The wine train pulls right up there so that was really exciting for the children and adults to see! They have a beautiful indoor wine tasting area but I was outside since I had my little Pomeranian doggy with me. They are a very dog friendly winery! Pizzas are delicious! $20 each. I bought the Margherita and the Salami. Both were beyond yummy!! I took the pizza home with me after I enjoyed a nice glass of Sav Blanc served by the glass for $8. Was a fun and tasty end to my wine tasting day! ”

“This is one of the most beautiful properties in America with breathtaking views of the entire Napa Valley. It was the original American cult wine, and in an age of what is new is better, they’re still a tried and true classic creating some of the best chardonnay in the country. They operate on an appointment-only basis, so you have to call ahead. This isn’t one of those places where you're going to be in a traditional tasting room—you're likely to be doing your tasting outside on their patio.”
